Excellent service every time! Best staff

Although the sandwich was good, she made it with barehands, touching chicken, then all the fixings (lettuce, peppers etc). Pretty gross.

Ordered a super assorted and received a regular assorted. Glad i didnt drive all the way home. Not the same service as when the Greeks ran the place.

I went with a friend, we had a big order, steak sub, roast beef sub, chicken gyro, 1/4 chicken meal and 12 chicken wings. Now the two subs we ordered extra things on it, she took the order, repeated it twice to make sure she got it. We didnt wait long and the line up was out the door, the staff helped us the other customers we friendly by holding the door open for us,the price was good and the food was great.

Gangster. Dont eat at fast food from pig troughs Have some dignity and eat at joints like this. Too many fast food franchises and not enough real places to eat.

This place has gone downhill. Ordered gyro no spice and it came extra spicy. Delivery service had poor attitutude, they couldnt find our place. They called several times asking where we live and why you not answering. I finally returned call And said I was busy on other line and said its not my fault you cant find my address. She gave me attitude as soon as she got out of her car, I paid and said to ,myself. Last time Im going to order there.

Had a Club from here last night and it was awesome. Good job you guys! Update** we were in town for three days so when we were leaving the day after I had the Club, my work partner was intrigued by my enthusiasm so we went back on our way out of town. I had the Philly steak he had had the steak sub and wow, just wow. The right flavours, it was awesome, he loved his steak too. A big shout out to The Sub place!

Anyone who says they have the best gyros is either an owner or family friend because I can honestly say that was the worst gyro I had in my life more like bread with lettuce and sauce, how is this place still open with those way over priced products. Save your money people

Not the same as it used to be. Food doesnt taste the same. Not made with the same ingredients as before. Definitely not using the same oil as before. Now ill will have to find a new favorite as this one has been mine for the last 40 years, George and John will be missed!!! Thank you for the wonderful years of amazing memories and dinners, and lunches but it seems this chapter is now closed. Tried to give it a few gos and I cant believe the difference in taste, not for the better.

Stopped in to get what used to be one of the best meals in town, and tell ya this place had definitely changed and is no where near what it used to be. I wanted to eat in but ended up taking out as all the tables were dirty with food which is understandable at rush hour but its the quality that really changed here. The poutine is nothing like it used to be. The gravy was off as well as the fries. And the gyro is honestly pathetic compared to what it used to be. Miss the old workers there and the food.

This used to be my favoritenplace to eat. Until today... I brought my husband and daughter here for lunch and after ordering was appalled to see them prepping raw chicken on top of a garbage can. Clearly this place does not follow health and safety procedures. Will not be back again and we used to frequent this place at least twice a week. they were pretty quick to give our money back needless to say.

Me and my family have been going to the submarine place for years. Ive noticed a decline in the last few times Ive gone. Last night was the last straw. I wont be returning. We ordered a caesar salad, and received a container of iceberg lettuce with some undercooked bacon and powdered parmesan cheese on the side. Our fries were undercooked so much so that they were crunchy on the inside. Its unfortunate to see this establishment going downhill. Hopefully this review can shed some light on what customers are expecting.

Was recommended to go, but sorely disappointed. If your idea of a great sub is a sort of stale bun with cold cuts on it then microwaving until it s soggy, this is the place for you. Seemed like some other cool items on the menu that s why more than one star. But I won t be back.

Ive been coming here since I was a little girl. Its one of those places that is so intrinsically part of North Bay, and even after 26 years the quality hasnt gone away. Youre always promised a full sandwich, fresh ingredients, and a full and happy stomach.

Food is incredible and fresh, great fries, subs, chicken, gyro and more!

Worse Turkey sub ever...lots of bun and lettuce...a 12 sub gets a total of 2 pieces of turkey cut in half...never eat here again...garbage

Absolutely Terrible Dont waste your money. Only get 2 little pieces of bacon on the 12 inch club, no sauce on the gyro and the fries were barely cooked. Check the one 5 star review, the person has to get double extra sauce and triple extra olives then go home and cook it. Haha that should tell you enough about this place.

Hey I have been a fan of The Sub Place since thier original place of business on Algonquin Ave. I was very sad to see that this gem had changed hands from the original owners. The restaurant may not have been anything spectacular to look at, but the food was always fresh, hot, generous portions and all around great quality. This was my first experience since since the previous owners have finally retired. Im sad to say that Im disappointed in my meal. Ive never felt this way before about this establishment. I ordered my usual which is a gyro and a small poutine. The poutine was half the size it use to be, the gravy tasted like canned gravy, the fries were under done and salty. My gyro was great tasty, the veggies were definitely fresh and crisp but there was definitely less meat than there use to be. I did have a specific way I wanted my gyro prepared and they were spot on with this request. I really didnt want to do this, but maybe the new owners will see and maybe have a discussion or change things. Thank you, Jennifer Ranger

Have been coming here for years .Stopped in about 1 month ago for a super sub like I always do. Then stooped for same again to day. Im sorry to say some thing has changed. Did not enjoy either one of the subs. First time I thought it was just me. Nope. And bread is not the same as before. Ill miss there subs.

I was recommended to visit this restaurant and I did for the first time. Staff was very friendly 10/10, foor Gyro Pita was 10/10. I really enjoyed my lunch and look forward to when I can return again.

Order corn beef sub, fried mushrooms and pop for. delivery. Sub mostly salt and bread, no cheese, single layer thin meat. Used to be good a year ago now nope. Never again

So disappointed tonight. Went for the fish n chips n it doesnt seem like they batter there own fish.also orders crispy fries made into a poutine. The fries were neither crispy or did they not have curds on it. They used shredded mozzarella. The best thing bout this place is the subs but Ill never order the fish n chips again

The Sub Place is a Greek fast food restaurant has been a North Bay tradition for decades and there are reasons for that: Consistent quality, flavour, good pricing family, and community. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a cheerful smile from this family-run business. I have ordered for myself and for business proving they are capable of catering larger lunch orders with advance notice. I personally prefer the chicken gyros to their subs. If you are new to town or visiting, I encourage you to sample some items from the menu and find your new food home here at the Sub Place.

Ive been going to the sub place since its been on Algonquin but since the old guys the brothers are left and the young kids are running it the gyro isToo spicy and the pita is overcooked theyve gone downhill

Disrespectful and unprofessional staff, terrible food. Edit: Editing this on the request of the owner. Firstly, I felt discriminated against when I visited yesterday. Your staff seemed to greet all the other guests except for me and my mate. Of course youll say this wasnt on purpose but I can tell you that it was. Also, they didnt bother to explain when I couldnt understand what will be included in the gyro meal Ive ordered. The lady on the counter asked if I want the chicken skin on and before I could reply, the other staff member just assumed Id want it on and told the lady that I want it on. They also forgot to add drinks to my order which I only realized after I came back home. I am seeing the owners reply on other comments saying you will try to improve your service and food, but unfortunately it was too late in my case. Will never visit this store again. Thank you

.Too bad the new owners are changing what was a recipe for success. IE: French fries deep fried in peanut oil........now its regular oil - NOT the same! Best gyros ever - hope they dont change the amount of veggies and meat.

Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. I love the service at the place, so friendly with the guests and they always takes care to offer the best quality! Absolutely love this place! We make a point to stop in every time we are in town. The buns are always fresh the lettuce and vegetables are always crisp. And if the delicious food isnt enough to draw you in the friendly staff should definitely do the trick! Thank you for all of your hard work guys!

The best go to place when traveling though north bay

I ordered a roasted chicken sub and it was delicious. Its made with chicken they cook in house on a rotisserie. Ive never been to a sub shop anywhere that had at chicken sub like this. I highly recommend it if you havent had one before.

Was really excited to try the steak sub, it fell flat of my expectations. They were cold and they put shredded mozzarella on a steak sub. Very expensive too. You have to go in and eat there to make sure the toppings are fresh and it s heated properly.

One of my top two places to eat. Gyros, poutine, the rotisserie chicken ? I have no words. Where can you get 2 whole chickens, 2lg fries and a big salad for under $50? Gyros are good value. Tons of protein beef or chicken, good spice. Skewers are fresh. Good assortement of street food and sandwhiches. Order ahead long wait time but worth it!

Found this place while driving though kids got hungry! Great reviews, so decided to jump in. Great food and staff. Very nice and hospitable Greek family. Kids couldn t decide and they were very patient and answered every question with a smile :) the young lady and guy behind the counter were super sweet and kind. Definitely recommend it!!

Very slow service, food tasted terrible, felt sick all day after eating it, will never go back.

The gentleman who answered the phone was very impatient and rude while he was taking my delivery order. The tap on the debit machine did not work when the delivery person arrived at my house. There is a global pandemic going on and the tap feature keeps both parties safe and therefore should always be working properly.

I used to order subs here and then I tried the Gyro... and thats all I ever eat now. Seriously, tastiest thing ever. I get a little sad that I may never try the rest of their menu, but then I remember the gyro and Im not sad anymore.

This should be your go to sub and gyro place. They are very fast and the food is amazing. I go here regularly and get the gyro or the fresh chicken sandwiches. The workers are always paying attention and try and remember your order. Also a side note, this is a local restaurant and they give back to the community at lot.

Thats what I needed. I havent come across a donair/gyros place that caught my eye in the week Ive been here in North Bay. Until now. Got a standard gyros wrap: meat, veg, tzatziki and this hot spice blend they sprinkle on it that is just amazing. The tzatziki is really really good, the lettuce and onion is chopped up just so, the meat is tasty and the portion size seems fair. The menu has stuff ranging from under ten bucks to maybe 14ish for a large premium sub. I havent tried the other offerings yet but i certainly plan to. From the the look of the buns Im guessing $14 gets you a sub fit for a king. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food explains why, when I left, they had about a dozen people liked up to order. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

This place has always been amazing! Staff is polite and friendly. Service is always fast whether it s busy or not. And the food is amazing! I never get tired of the gyros, and everything else I ve tried is equally as delicious. Would recommend this place to everyone!!
