Bay Bistro in North Bay

Pretty sad excuse for a rice bowl

For a restaurant so close to a college/university I think that one of the downfalls of this restaurant is the long wait time for food, upwards of 25 minutes for anything substantial, such as a sandwich. I think that the wait time needs to decrease to make it more accommodating for students and people’s time. The only thing I’ve had here since I’m a vegan is the tofu sandwich which I believe is the only vegan/vegetarian option on their menu, but it’s absolutely phenomenal! They season the tofu perfectly and cook it till crispy and warm when serving. My only complaint about the food/service is that every time I’ve had this sandwich, since the wait is so long by the time the food comes, the fries that come on the side are cold. The ambiance of the restaurant is okay, but every time I’ve been there the music is really loud. But apart from that’s everything is good. Compared to other restaurants in north bay, if the waiting time for food were to decrease I’d be proud to take my family here, even if we need to pay for parking (which I think is ridiculous but I understand that since it is inside the NUSU building there’s not much to be done about that). The restaurant is very clean and the front has a modern design. Everyone who works there are very sweet and welcoming. The staff are fantastic!
