Locals know that this is the place to go for dineresque food. Some say the best poutine in the district and I agree. Very conscious of food allergies (gluten free options), and arguably the best milkshakes in town. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options!

My boyfriends favorite meal is the fish and chips. Never a let down for him. My go to is the chicken quesadillas meal. Best ones in town that I have had. Always recommend this place to people when they visit North Bay.

I love the poutine and pronto pup and usually never have issues...But I went last night for dinner with my mom and the gravy was luke warm, not nice and hot and the fries didnt taste fresh out of the deep fryer, also a quarter of my moms pronto pup didnt have batter , just fried Weiner..

Service is amazing, however, wish there was direct table service and take-out service. When its busy, the line up is out the door, and that could be helped by seating those who are eating in. Eggs Benedict with Breakfast Poutine was amazing! Great coffee! Did not enjoy the pumpkin milkshake at all. It was a large, but more like a small, lacked flavour and it was ridiculously priced for the entire item. Otherwise, their vanilla and chocolate swirl soft serve ice cream is amazing and makes me feel like a kid back in my hometown again! The Philly Cheesesteak was really lacking and sad... It needed spices, more cheese... More Oomph. I was really looking forward to this but was really disappointed. I considered sending it back but I needed the warm meal on a rainy evening and didnt think they would do much better tofix it. It just didnt seem that whoever made it was enthusiastic at all LOL or its just one of those flukey menu items. But now Im still searching for the right Philly Cheesesteak in North Bay!

One of my favorite restaurants. Best food. Best poutine. Beats all poutine in and around north bay area. Including sturgeon falls. Great value kids meals under 10 dollars. Real food

South West chicken wrap and Cobb salad were delicious! Milkshakes were yummy.. The patio was a perfect place to eat sheltered from the rain with the dogs. The waitress brought our 3 dogs a water bowl. Very dog friendly. A great pitstop on your travels on Hwy 11! Food : 5/5

Staff were very polite. Ordered a grilled cheese, small poutine and to my surprise they had mushroom caps so I had to try those also. Food was exactly what you want from a reasonably priced diner type experience. The only confusing aspect was ordering at the counter and not knowing they do table service. This is a local establishment worth supporting.

Ive been coming here for 20 years and the food has always tasted great and the staff always helpful and friendly.

I ordered a poutine and cheese burger. The food was subpar. My poutine was just OK, nothing spectacular but my burger was awful. The beef patty was very dry and the bun was stale. They seemed more preoccupied with delivery service than the customers choosing to dine-in.

It brought me back over 30 years. It was like a time capsule. Best poutine and burger! Re-lived my skipping school to goto Ivans. Thank you for being there!

Amazing !! Pogos are the best you will ever taste. They do have gluten free options, dedicated fryer so the fries are SAFE! Gluten free buns for the burgers. Gluten free gravy ! Excellent. Breakfast came fast, hot and delicious and the service was really nice.

Worst experience ever. Ordered fish and chips waited quite awhile for our order. The batter on the fish was rubbery and the fries were soggy. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The waitress didnt care what so ever about why I didnt eat my food , she just said they had a new fryer. No excuse.

Called at 10 40 am for a lunch order, called at 1210 pm for an update and didnt even start the order. Cancelled it! Horrible service and said sorry bot dat!

The restaurant is modern with a 60 s vibe. Red led lighting runs the length of the large window front. Simply decorated and pleasant atmosphere for a busy restaurant. The chairs are hard wood and very uncomfortable. bit noisy and the sounds echo, but that s to be expected for a small establishment. I ordered my all time favourite - Montreal Smoked Meat on light rye, fries and coleslaw. By the time I finally got my meal, after waiting over 45 minutes and watching people come in, order, get their order and leave, I was sorely disappointed. This meat was definitely not Montreal Smoked meat. It dripped with grease, literally. There was a puddle of grease on my plate! And so salty! And it was barely warm. But I ate it anyway because you pay first and then get your meal, even when dining in. And I was hungry. $18 for that - absolutely not worth the price. The fries had a taste of freezer to them. I couldn t eat them. The one saving grace was the coleslaw - delicious, but such a small serving when you only have the choice between the slaw and soup. Because the cashier didn t ask me if I wanted a drink when she took my order, I had to pull out my wallet again and hand over more money, making this meal priced over $20. Not worth it. Why isn t the drink included? Will not be returning.

Childhood Memory Re-visted, and definitely didnt disappoint

Went here. Ordered a bacon burger and fries. Was NOT disappointed! This burger was so good, I was sure it was blessed by Gordon Ramsey himself. If I was on death row, Id choose this food as my last meal

This place is amazing, service was really nice, and the decoration matches everything, but my favorite thing of all was the food I got the Canadian poutine and it felt like everyone in the world blessed the flavor of this food. This was my best experience in a restaurant ever, Ill never forget this poutine and I will be thinking about it for a very long time.

First time at Ivan s today, we went for breakfast. The restaurant was very clean, service was fantastic. Food was very hot, was very tasty and affordable . We will definitely go back.

A must stop every time on our way through North Bay. Which is 4-5 times a year. Tried a lot of the menu and have always had a great meal.

Very bad service, they don t give a damn about the skip the dishes order, was waiting for 25 mins for the order and the order was not passed to the kitchen yet, the hostess does not even acknowledge the skip drivers. They need to work on their customer service skills!

Its absolutely mind blowing that a family restaurant does not have a change table. Aside from that, the waitresses failed to bring the soup that was ordered and paid for, that was intended to be eaten prior to our meals. The poutine was brought out barely warm while the soup was brought out piping hot. The restaurant wasnt overly busy, in fact, was at less than half capacity. 0/5. I dont know why any restaurant would expect a tip prior to service, but I am glad I waited to tip.

Called them and asked for soup. Drove there. Ordered. Ten minutes later they came out and said they are out of soup. Wasting time.

Love the fries but the burger was over cooked it was like rubber i asked for onions and got three strans and also had the fish and chips . Good fries and gravy but more batter then fish .

One of the last few place in north bay that has good food at a reasonable price and you get enough to fill you up. Staff are friendly and helpful and always clean.

I recently tried Ivans Burgers and was thoroughly impressed. The food was great, and the prices were reasonable. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The variety on the menu catered to different tastes, and the portion sizes were generous. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that wont break the bank. Highly recommend giving Ivans Burgers a try! This is a wonderful hide away restaurant. Tucked into an alcove of a strip plaza, this little gem is worth the visit. The food is delicious, service is quick, restaurant is clean and the staff are very friendly. I had their Bacon Cheeseburger platter with the fries made into a poutine. Simply Devine!!!! Im pretty picky about my coleslaw but theirs was very tasty. I actually took some of my coleslaw and put it on my burger. OMG!! So Good!!!! Definitely

Strictly posting about breakfast at this time. Was surprised at the little number of people in the restaurant at this time because I know it is a very popular eatery. A Monday morning at 9:00am. Im sure at a different time or day it may be quite different. From what I experienced there is no take a seat and Ill bring you a menu. You have to order at the counter but as I approached I didnt see any clearly marked items as a breakfast menu. Mainly my reason for 4 stars instead of 5. But without even seeing anything for breakfast listed I managed to easy get my order of 3 eggs SSU, bacon, sausage, home fries and a double order of toast put in and grabbed a seat. To my surprise the meal arrived in under three minutes!! But if you think about it, it is easy to decipher how it took so little time. So hot coffee, fast service, excellent meal, Ivans is a top spot for breakfast in North Bay. (I might do a lunch or dinner next)

Came up from Toronto to Noth Bay for the first time and found this restaurant. Super friendly service and food was good. We had a craving for poutine and this place hit the spot. Recommend for everyone.

Stopped ordering from them for almost year because they never got it right. Decided to give them a try again and of course my burger was made completely wrong and they put tomatoes on which im allergic too.

Lousy service and double check your receipt because they could over charge you and give you something of a lesser value and if you pay by card you will see another extra charge. So double over charge. It happened twice and I only found out when they became cocky.

Found the place and food to be average. Not terrible, not great...just average. Wouldnt go out of my way to eat there.

Best place to go for Burgers and Poutine. Especially like the BCB poutine as it like having the burger and fries together in one dish with gravy slathered all over. Portion sizes are noticeably bigger dining-in versus getting takeout or ordering through a food courier. Vegetarian options: They have salads and items that do not contain meats. Parking: Restaurant located in a strip mall so ample on-site parking. Kid-friendliness: Its a family restaurant. It has 50s decor with a Jukebox that is great when it works.

Best food in town!!! This is the restaurant my family and I go to anytime we want a treat. There super thick chocolate milkshakes are the best in town. Not too mention there soft twist Ice cream! They also carry many flavors of ice cream the kids will love. If you really want a treat - try their chocolate chip cookie ice cream bar made with homemade cookies!! They are amaze ballz

Ordered a poutine was massive and great. You order at the till get a number and take a seat anywhere you like. They bring the food to your table No waiters so quiet at the table. Kid-friendliness: High chairs Booster seats

Fresh and tasty with a generous amount of food..

Ive been enjoying the fries from Ivans since the nineties, when my friends and I would go there on lunch hour from widdifield highschool every day. So far my favorite is the Mikes poutine, with curds tastiest gravy, real fries and garnished loads of freshly fried soft n crunchy bites of bacon. Also the pronto pup is a quick choice and a good size too. Very friendly staff and always minimal wait for service.

Ate breakfast here on the patio this morning. Food was great, prices were a year behind (cheaper than what I m used to), service was excellent. Would definitely eat here again if/when I m the area.

This is your throwback to the old greasy spoons of the past, but with a little less grease. Middle of the road Rueben Sandwich, not terrible, but not standout, fries are better than most places. Prices are decent for what you get. Service was a little slow, but it was lunch hour and fairly busy.

Cafeteria style diner. You order at the counter, they bring the food to you. Good diner style menu. The service is generally good. On a busy day its near impossible to get a coffee refill. Decent fish in chips with the chips in a good light batter. The breakfast is delicious, served quickly. Busy place because its good. Parking: Plenty of parking but very busy lot. Kid-friendliness: Totally caters to families. But it can be busy so tables at peak times will be a wait.

Really Really Good Food and if you call ahead... ready when they say it will be... friendly Staff and CLEAN atmosphere... try the Fish and Chips or his Breakfast.. yummy

They do have great food but not always! when you dine in i found the food to be amazing but everytime we have order take out the food is awful! we recently order Poutines and it might as well been soup. also some of the fries was raw! nothing matches on the website menu. Not sure why they have a phone number listed because no one ever answers! They are goodish but they surely need some work to make the place better. The way it currently sits we dont recommend :/

As you know with my posts every now and again I come across a gem. This is one!!!!!. We arrived 30 minutes before closing having been stuck on hwy 11 for 60 minutes without moving. A vehicle fire. Despite being late. Staff were super pleased to see us couldnt do enough. Even gave us a free coffee as they were shutting down the coffee pot. The serving platter size plate of poutine with shaved meat I received was almost to much to eat.(almost! ) Cannot recommend them highly enough. There is a reason they have been there since 1945.

What it lacks in 50s kitch it more than makes up for with soft and hard ice cream, shakes, fresh-cut fries, and a diverse menu that has perfected diner classics, a poutine menu, quesadillas, and good salads. Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly.

Dont bother calling in any deep fried take out food orders! OWNER has told employees not to cook food until you arrive. Was told order would be ready in 20 minutes. So I arrive shortly after 20 minutes and then had to wait another 20 for my order to be ready. Nothing is told to customer. Very poor customer service and very bad restaurant practices. Used to get food here regularly will not be returning every again.

Me and the Mrs stopped in the other day and got a family sized poutine with cheese curds to split (perfect for dinner & leftovers). Tons of gravy & cheese curds, both were layered throughout. Food was very good and quick coming out of the kitchen! Service was great, staff was very kind. If you want poutine, this is your stop!

My sister was taking my mom and myself out for an early lunch for our birthday. We wanted a great diner experience and always see this place so busy so figured we would try it out. We arrive and its so cute inside they greet us and dont say anything else. We take a seat wait notice no one is coming so we ask are we suppose to come up she says yes okay not a big deal. We go up and each order a vanilla milkshake, a poutine and a side of onion rings to share. The milkshakes were very liquidity more like cold vanilla milk, onion rings were good. The poutine was served in a red plastic basket with a brown paper linner with plastic forks. The paper got stuck to our fries the grave seeped through the paper causing it to tare and make a mess off fries mixed with paper. If your looking a sit down diner restaurant experience I wouldnt suggest this place.
