Its a great place for some great steak. I put 4 stars for food because.. I cooked my steak(not a chef). Tried their famous lava stone cooked steak, and the steak was a thick cut. Bit of a learning curve to cook on a hot rock but definitely a fun way to enjoy your meal. Lots of choice of drinks and mocktails. Service was quick and friendly. Dessert, I had Tiramisu cake and it was great!

I had such a bad experience here that I felt it necessary to write a review. And I rarely ever write a review on here . First of all me and my family showed up at 4pm, when it was pretty well empty, only 3 tables of others who seemed to of all been served . We ordered our food at 4pm and it did not come until 5pm which was confusing as we seemed to be the only ones waiting. I ordered a medium rare ribeye, just to receive what was a well done rib eye after an hour of waiting. Also, my poutine on the side was cold cold... After mentioning this to our waitress, she got the manager. The manager told me that they could make me a new steak, but that either way it wouldnt be charged on the bill. I got the new steak, which was literally lile 60% fat and tasted worse than any steak Ive cooked myself at home. At 57 dollars for a steak, Id expect a good cut cooked proper, but nope. We also got charged for bbq sauce which is crazy after paying that much for a steak... What really upset me though, was when the bill came, I was still charged FULL PRICE. After literally an hour wait the first time, then another 25 minute wait the second time, and after the manager said I wouldnt be charged, I still paid full price. Me and my partner were so turned off by the lack of flavor in the food and all of this mentioned above that we definitely will never be returning to this place. It was our first experience at lot 88, and I really dont understand how they even have the Google rating they gave because Ive heard bad things from this place before, and it was a terrible experience. Definitely a huge regret spending almost 200$ here on our meal , I later went to wendys as I was still hungry and the spicy chicken burger there tasted way better than the steak from lot 88, how sad is that.

Food is always awesome there. There were several people standing and waiting for a table. There were some tables available it just took them a long time to get people seated for some reason?

Probably your best supper location choice in North Bay.

Lately, its the go-to in that part of town for a cold one and relaxing!

The Service at Lot 88 was terrible it was like we didnt even exist. Took 15 minutes just for someone to ask if we wanted anything staff also didnt even ask if we wanted something to drink. Staff were rude. I would highly recommend not going to lot 88. 2 people showed up after us and received menus and drinks before us.

I really want to thank all of you . Today (August 1) was my wife Heather and I anniversary ,26 years. Her only request was that we go to lot 88 for dinner . I could not afford for both of us to dine but we came anyway . I ordered the loaded cheese bread and she order her hearts content (surf and turf with an added lobster tail) the waiter was excellent and didn t question when I did not order a main for myself the evening was amazing and my wife left happy and satisfied . (She insisted I eat her salad lol ) thank you for not calling attention to our situation and giving my lady the best night in a long while forever appreciated Jon

I was in on Saturday and had one of the best restaurant experiences I ve had in a long time. My server was Rebecca and as I ve never been before, I asked for her recommendations and she suggested her favourites .I had the mini Yorkies and a ribeye steak with deep-fried mashed potatoes. Had a great first visit at Lot 88. We had Rebecca and she was awesome. She was super attentive and even gave us some ideas on things to do while in the area. Food was delicious and we will definitely return the next time we are in North Bay.

Great food and friendly staff!

This place does not disappoint. The food is amazing, the atmosphere intimate and the service phenomenal. Our server Sarah made an already celebratory night even better. Our 8 year old daughter made a new colour sister and was beaming with each encounter. Also usually a fairly picky eater, she tried everything on the table from all of our meals and said she loved it all. Definitely will be going back.

Brought my brother for his birthday, was a great meal, service and food was excellent, we had a good time. Parking: Four or more wheelchair accessible parking spots (I didnt really count all of them) Wheelchair accessibility: Parking is good, doors work with button push, accessible washroom/family room.

Went for lunch was blown away of quality and portions. Food was excellent and service was great too. As well as the prices were great too. Will definitely be coming back.

So just had the chicken parmesan tonight. Only thing I would suggest is like rest the chicken for like a minute or two before plating it on top of the mashed potatoes. The juices made it a little runny for my liking however other than that it was freaking good. The espresso martini is so good!

This place was extremely expensive for the quality. They screwed up the bill and put charges on it that weren t ours, ( we didn t notice until the following day) the add on portion were ridiculously small, I had to stab the crème brûlée bc the top it was so thick and over cooked. I can t see going back again which makes me sad

Love the food its fantastic! Only downside is the atmosphere is much nicer in the Keg and more date night friendly. Lighting is too bight the seating arrangements could be better. Way too cramed in there for the price.

The experience at Lot 88 Steak House was exceptional. We relished every aspect, from the ambiance and food to the outstanding customer service. The highlight was the steak served on hot stones, providing an exciting and delightful evening. This venue added a memorable touch to our New Years Eve celebration.

We recently visited here on a Friday evening and it was full on busy. The atmosphere is fantastic and I love the dim lighting they have throughout the restaurant. My partner ordered the prime rib burger with a Caesar salad and passionfruit Moscow mule mocktail. I got a lobster bisque and deep fried mashed potatoes with a raspberry mint Mocktail. The mocktail was amazing!! Balanced and slightly carbonated with a refreshing taste. The deep fried mashed potatoes were good but portion wise I wish it was a bit more even for a side. The lobster bisque is not something I would ever recommend...1st off its canned and it does have a strong fishy taste. I forced myself to eat it which was a mistake cause it came out before I reached home. My partners burger was lackluster. It wasnt seasoned enough and on the dryer side. He said it made him feel like there was a brick in his stomach leaving him bloated for the rest of the evening. The side Caesar salad was the best part of his meal. Lettece was crispy fresh and bacon was perfect. Our server was awesome and always checked in. We also got the chocolate lava cake as dessert which was Good. It was warm cakey and beautifully presented. My only wish with it was that it had more lava to it. Felt the cake ratio was more then the lava. Maybe it was because it was busy so not much attention is paid to each persons dish but I dont think well be visiting anytime soon.

Really loved the vibe at this location of Lot88, clean and friendly service. Loved their seafood fettuccine every bit of it. Thought not enough portion but had to leave some. Also loved baked Brie and fusion shrimp as starters. No Halal meat options though, so seafood options would be best if looking for Halal options. And when ordering, don t forget to mention that please make sure not to cross contamination with meat and whatever you don t want. Cheers!

Food and staff were great. I enjoyed the sirloin steak on a hot stone. The wine selection was good. The manager waitress and one of the bar staff were very attentive. We were a larger group and found the staff were accommodating and helpful with all our requests. I would highly recommend.

AMAZING!! I had the steak with lobster tail and my wife had the steak and shrimp. My wife had the Baileys cheesecake for dessert and I had the Blueberry Mojito as a drink. Best food experience I have had! I am personally lactose intolerant, the waitress went out of her way to suggest dairy free alternatives. I cant get over how impressed we were with the overall experience. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!

Very nice steak

We only come here for the Steaks-on-the-Stone. I have had many of the other offered entrees and they are not the stars of the show by any means but the steaks are king. Finishing an otherwise lightly seared steak yourself on a hot chunk of marble is quite a unique experience. The prices are somewhat appropriate for the meats which are good quality. Although as a long time lover of the 10oz Cali Peppercorn, I often wonder where all the peppercorns went that used to adorn the exterior, it needs more distinction. Maybe its the Peppercorn sauce that is the only distinguishing factor now. The sides are very expensive for what you get. $6 for a twice-baked potato that could fit within the palm of my hand-the waitress thought it looked normal; looked more like a ripoff to me. They often skimp on the portion sizes (like sides and sauces) from time to time although its not a consistent behavior. On that note, service is the biggest complaint as its very inconsistent. The restaurant could have a handful of tables full or 3/4s of the whole place full and the service is the same speed. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get apps once. Sometimes it takes as long as 2 hours for a group of 6 to eat, pay and leave. Unlike the Keg this place tries to offer a Keg-like experience but the enormously large bar and jumbotron TVs ruin a lot of its ambiance. I wish it was more of a fine dining establishment (something that N.Bay lacks) but instead its a casual gourmet sports bar.

Great idea for steak, but need to have real cuts of ribeye

Absolutely love this place. Steaks are always perfectly cooked. Cocktails used to be meh but since Laura redid the menu they are awesome. Maddison was our server - she s super nice and attentive. Alisha is also a top notch server!

As a business person and frequent traveller, we had the certain pleasure of a sincere welcome, top shelf food + beverages. However sewing the experience together with a fun enjoyable evening was (our pleasure) meeting Sheila, who attended to all dinner needs with a sense of humour, 1st class.

I waited 30 minutes for my appetizer and it was underwhelming, it was just microwaved brie cheese and hard pita. Waited an hour for main dishes and the fries were underdone and like eating blocks of raw sweet potato. Filet mignon - rare was undercooked and had no salt. The seafood fettuccine was decent. Overall it was underwhelming and overpriced. I did get a good laugh at the option of cooking your own steak though. Why go to a steakhouse and cook your own steak? So illogical lol.

Food was spectacular. Service was superb. Very satisfied!

Fabulous lunch, friendly efficient service

My wife and I decided to try Lot 88 for the first time for our 50th anniversary. We used the online system to book a Thursday evening 6:30 p.m. reservation. We asked for a quiet spot. When we arrived at 6:30 the restaurant was surprisingly near capacity and there were only a few tables empty. We were seated at a small 2 seat table which really wasn t suitable. After getting our drinks another nearby table for 4 opened up and we asked to move to that even though it was beside the full glass window/door to the patio. There are some very quiet booths along one wall and they have small fireplaces. There was almost no one that came in after our 6:30 p.m. arrival. My wife ordered the Lamb with rice and I chose the 10 ounce rib-eye steak with a Caesar salad and baked potato with brandy peppercorn sauce on the side. The vegetables were superb and served in a small bowl. Both mains came on the extremely hot stone. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking our food on the stone and found it to be both fun and an excellent way to ensure your meat choice is hot and cooked as you choose. My wife heated her rice on the stone and found that was a good idea. Both meals were delicious and we would certainly order the same again. Unbeknownst to us, Thursdays are half price wine night and we chose the Wayne Gretzky 99 Merlot which was only $21 on Thursday. This was a definite plus and a great choice. Alisha was our very pleasant and attentive Server. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our evening despite the seating snafu and we will definitely return again. Tuesdays are a 2 Can Dine for $70 with a couple of meat choices cooked on the stone and we will likely try that too. The only negative is that the bar is in the centre of the restaurant with the attendant big screen tvs which can certainly be distracting and does not provide the dark, quiet atmosphere available at several other higher end North Bay restaurants. Our table at the large window overlooking the patio was too bright and distracting.

Friendly server and good dining experience for the restaurants close by to our hotel. The lamb and lobster bisque were my favorites of the night.

Perhaps our third adventure to this location. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff, great drinks and the 20 bone in ribeye was a very good cut of beef.

Lot 88 is the top steak house in North Bay also their menu has great burgers and apps would recommend the lot 88 burger when you eat in this great north bay restaurant.

Good stake UT make sure you are not late if you are picking up the food.

I had the chicken dish, and it was alright. Nothing to write home about, the chicken was greasy, a bit too oily, the side veggies were also nothing special, seems to be this push for cooked peppers and for some dishes it pairs well, with the chicken, Id suggest a side bean, or more carrot and baked Brussel sprouts. The baked potato that I took instead of the mash was baked to perfection. The atmosphere is great for a close date or a gathering of friends. I do find the prices a bit high for the area and the experience of cooking most meals on a hot stone. Their sticky toffee pudding is a very high recommendation in my books. Otherwise, its a good place.

Went there for the first time tonight and it was incredible! The serving staff were all amazing, the drinks were good, and the food was both delicious and filling. The only thing I will say is they dont really provide many utensils to help with cooking, (should you decide to do your steak on the stone,) so it might be a bit of a challenge to flip but its well worth it. Everything tasted immaculate and the presentation was lovely as well. We will definitely be returning customers here.

We ordered steak, pasta and chicken for kids meal. Quality of meat for steak was good and the stone idea was something new for us. The taste of pasta was not special or even in good side. The kids food was so expensive compared to other places and it came with fries with a variety of spices on it. So much that our kid couldn t touch it. When we asked them to change it, they said we need to pay for new fries. All in all, considering the cost of food, I wouldn t recommend it.

I ordered the Sirloin on the stone. It was one of the best steaks Ive had. It is a very unique way to order a steak. The steak comes blue and you cook it to your liking on the stone. I highly recommend Lot 88 to anyone. Service was great too!

This was our first experience at Lot 88 in North Bay and it was absolutely amazing. The menu is outstanding. Our hostess, Madison, was exceptional. We were there to celebrate 3 special occasions. My husbands 65th birthday, his retirement after 43 years as a police officer and our 28th anniversary. We will definitely be returning.

Im a driving instructor my student a staff here had me pick him and drop him of a few times one lesson he came out to car with surf and turf steak melted in my mouth shrimp and scallops cooked to perfect recommend it to all. Thank you Royce

In the world of today, with prices being so high, I find that people only go out on special occasions . My wife and I went there for her birthday dinner and was very disappointed in the half price appetizers. The oysters were on that menu but excluded dont know why . They also put a limit on the number of appetizers you could get for half price . Service was not as good as it usually is either , as our server forgot part of our meal and then suggested that it was brought out with the meal . Would not recommend and will not be going back again .

We got lost in conversation when they showed up with a free appetizer for us and apologized for the delay Wich was super cool of them to do the service was great for the supper rush and the food was well worth the price and wait. The food was disappointing for the price. The steak was dry (i ordered medium rare). The vegetables tasted like pre-frozen. Our waitress was fantastic and did her best (gave us complimentary desert for dry steak), unfortunately, the desert was also dry. The atmosphere is odd...it puts out like a higher-end restaurant, but the bar is in the center of the restaurant, so you are trying to enjoy a nice meal right beside people having a beer watching the game. Overall, it was an ok experience.

Best place in North Bay

This place is very interesting. We didnt have any idea how the steak on a stone worked. But I awkwardly asked my steak to be cooked medium rare, and the very nice waitress said, You guys have never been to a Lot 88 before have you. She went on to explain how the stone is very hot and the steak comes out blue rare. You cut off a piece of steak and cook it on the stone. The stone is basically cooking the steak the whole time. It was really fun and the steak was fantastic. I will definitely be visiting Lott 88 again.

Went there with my mom for my Birthday. Service was awesome, although slow but that was due to 3 large 6+ person groups there as well. We split the stuffed mushrooms and Lobster & Artichoke dip. The stuffed mushrooms was easily the best thing I ate there. Would recommend! I got the ribeye on the stone and it was a great experience. I love cooking so didnt feel intimidated having to cook my own food. I can understand how that would be intimidating to people. I wish they served the steak with some sort of fat, like butter or beef fat to apply to the steak while cooking both for taste and help get a better crust while cooking at the table. Also wish it eas served with flacky salt to finish. I had the Chocolate Lava cake for desert and this was the most dissapointing part of the night. It took the longest to be served since it was getting busy in the resturant and my server had to step in to cook it according to her. There was very little chocolat ganache to cause the lava effect of the dish. It tasted great but Jon Favreau would be sad.

Great food and amazing service. Will definitely visit again. The speciality of Lot 88 Steakhouse is that the stakes are severed seared on a hot stone and you let it cook in front of you to your desired consistency. Food was hot to the last bite and really enjoyed it Desert was delicious!

I was staying in North Bay for about 2 months and I became a regular at this beautiful steakhouse The food was quite varied and unimaginably succulent! The staff were great, very friendly and kind. This is by far the best bar/restaurant in North Bay, and I got a chance to visit them all Make sure you try out their steaks on the stone!

The tuna smelled fishy and it was soaked in the sauce, The drinks were fine. Definitely underwhelming and for how nice the location was this was a big disappointment.

I cant really remember the food, but the bathroom was incredible. Ive never seen one like it - Id go so far as to call it medium rare. But the cleaning? Well done. 5/5 stars.

Food was good and desert was really nice. Service was horrible. Got our order taken and never checked up on again. (Got placed in the bar, bar tender seemed very overwhelmed socializing and forgot about our entire order (apps, and main) after 45 minutes we had to approach to ask for water and inquire about our food. 10 mins later our mains came out and still no apps. Ended up getting the hostess to assist us the rest of the evening. Manager never checked up on us or offered discount for the inconvenience.

Wanted to go somewhere nice for a special occasion and this just wasnt it sadly. Our drinks took forever to get to us, we had to flag our waitress down a number of times for basic things like water and asking the status of our food. My gf didnt get her side dish for her main until we were getting the dessert menu. I asked for some of my dinner to be packed up to go and when I opened it later only one of my two sides had been packed up. The place is also looking a little run down. A booth near us looked like the seat was completely shredded. Atmosphere was more like a sports bar than a nice sit down steakhouse. Apps were good, dinner was just meh.

We loved it! They bring your meat on a hot stone and you basically cook it at your convenience! The meat tasted great and we loved the hot stone idea! They have a nice kid s menu and the service was super friendly! Lots of choices for your sides and sauce!

The food here was okay. However, after trying the lot88 in the Orillia location days before, our visit was overall disappointing. We thought the food standard and quality would be consistent between the locations. We learnt upon visiting this location that the assumption was wrong. The ribs were done differently - here they were slightly burnt and not as tender. The filet mignon was fine, but sad compared to the Orillia location; looked like a lesser quality cut and wasn t sufficiently seasoned (think Costco steak). The vegetables in general were not as fresh. The Caesar salad (which was the highlight at the Orillia location) tasted like it came out of a Dole salad kit; the dressing was sad and tasted like it came out of a Kraft bottle. The Caesar salad had more croutons than lettuce. Signature salad was good but again, was sad compared to the other location which had fresher leaves and beets. Overall, the food was decent, nothing to be excited about. I will not return. I am most disappointed because I brought our family there excited to show them a new find and this location did not deliver the expected experience. The service was also mediocre.

This restaurant is definitely a 5 star experience. The steak was fabulous and to be able to cook it at the table to your liking was amazing. The service was top notch, a very friendly and knowledgeable server topped off our experience.

Food was amazing. The Ribeye was the best steak Ive ever had! I had them cook it in the back vs. using the stone and they did it perfectly! Waitress was friendly and super attentive.

Visited Lot 88 for the first time, was recommended to visit here from a friend. Atmosphere 10/10, Bartender made me a 10/10 mocktail, Dinner Salomon was 10/10. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and hope I can come back and visit again.

Dietary restrictions: Very helpful Food

It was a so/so experience for my first visit to Lot 88. It had a cute atmosphere - all booths have a mini fireplace which is adorable. Good choice of food and servers were attentive. We seemed to have 3-4 servers as they switched off quite often. The reason for the 3 stars is the food aspect of the resturaunt. I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken. It tasted like chicken with shake-en-bake on it. It was not crusted it was just breaded. The corn is horrible to eat when you are eating with guests as it gets stuck in your teeth and is akward to eat. The ONLY thing that saved the dish was the red wine demi sauce (delicious) which was an extra $2.50 on top of $24. It made the dish more enjoyable but it was still lacking for me. The steak stone is a cool concept but is pricey as well. Im not sure Id return unless someone was to suggest it.

I love this place. Environment, meal, staff, cleanliness, everything is perfect. They cocktails also great too. Try to cook your own steak on the hot stone!
