The Block Public House in North Bay

We had invited a diverse group of employees with numerous culinary restrictions including vegetarian and Celiac. The staff was well educated on Celiac disease. The menu had numerous options available and they were easily able to accommodate each individual. The food and service were exceptional. This morning as we reflected on the experience we agreed that we want to return to this restaurant.

Our entire team absolutely loves coming here. Whether it is for a special occasion (such as our holiday party), or a casual visit to catch up, we absolutely love the service, food, and top tier mixology bartender that offers exquisite cocktails. Highly recommend!

Came with friends and coworkers. Amazing as always! The food and service were fantastic and the staff put up with our foolishness all night with great humour.

When the establishment first open food, and service were outstanding. We revisited for the first time since there first months of opening and our party of 4 was extremely disappointed. Service was horrible maybe it was just our waitress because we had other servers delivering our food, and drinks, but we watched our drinks sit on the bar for approx. 10 mins before they were brought to us. Beer and Cheddar soup had such a poor flavor compared to times Ive had it in the past. One couples food came out, about 5-10 mins later the second couples food came out and the guys had both ordered the surf and turf, both steaks were ordered medium rare, the first one arrived and once cut open it was if it had barely touched the grill, the second steak was over cooked. The feature of the night was a chicken parm, pasta portion was perfect, chicken cutlet was flavorless. Our fourth friend also got a steak Medium Rare and it was so over done she didnt eat it. We were unfortunately very disappointed as we want to love the restaurant because it has such potential.

Originally rated this 5 stars when this place first opened. Unfortunately, very poor management has resulted in this place being extremely subpar for the past 2 years. There is no consistency in food quality - what used to be grest food is now at best slightly above average, but usually well below average, especially considering the price. The drinks are ALWAYS bad, again, considering the price and atmosphere, youd expect quality drinks. But theyre poorly made cocktails. The service is awful. In addition to the previous two points, it shouldnt take 15 minutes to get a drink, ever. It seems like management is cheapening out and not hiring enough staff - heres a tip - hire a second bartender. Its absolutely ridiculous for a business to be turning away patrons on a weekend night, not because of capacity issues, but because they cant have the foresight to hire a second bartender. It seems like no one here cares anymore. Its just sad to see what could have been a great place been ruined by horrible, incompetent management. Will not be coming back.

I was so impressed by this place!! I had never been here before and have been wanting to go. The food was amazing the drinks were perfect, and the staff were so polite and accommodating. I cant believe I hadnt been here before. I am looking forward to bringing my daughter here on a mommy daughter date. Thank you for having great tasting food and amazing service. I went with a big group of family members for dinner one night. Probably 15 or more people. The service was great, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was really awesome. I had the jalapeno cheddar bacon burger and fries and it was probably the best burger I have ever had. Absolutely recommend and will without a doubt be back.

Sat down at 9pm on a Friday just wanting a small bite and a drink and were walked past by the manager and two servers and were never looked at, greeted or served. Left after that.

Had a fantastic lunch here. The food was great and the service was fantastic!

So glad we found this place! I dont know why, but we had a really hard time finding any good restaurants in North Bay. Theres a couple of expensive steak houses and a lot of fast food but very little in-between (or at least hard to find in the Maps search). We stay away from chain restaurants so was very glad to find this place. The menu is interesting and creative. Our server, KJ, was simply awesome! She was so funny and friendly and gave us lots of suggestions with the menu. In the end, we had steaks and the stuffed porkchop and both were excellent! The steaks came with choice of potato, choice of delicious sauce (chimichurri!) and very nice fresh veggies. The prices were also extremely competitive. We also had mussels, cheddar jalapeno dip and the fries trio, all delicious. One thing to note, is that the downtown is under construction, so just make sure you park on the next street back on the same side as the restaurant otherwise you will have to walk around the fences for a while. Their business has to be suffering with the construction, so go have a great meal and support them! Trust me, KJ will make it worth your time!

On vacation we were walking around and spotted this place. It was excellent, KJ our waitress was outstanding. So helpful and recommended some great drinks off the specials menu. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free fries were awesome

We booked this The Block House for our daughters graduation. The food was delicious, the space was awesome. Whoever we initially dealt with from out-of-town was awesome, and based on that person, I would have rated Service as 5. The service was very good, a few minor improvements, our curated menu had a typo (which we smiled at Appitizer. We had discussed have a vegetarian option for the soup and it was chicken with chickpeas, again we were very flexible, as the salads were great. If you want a classy place to book in North Bay, I would definitely recommend this location.

Extremely disappointed with the menu changes. When they opened they had interesting dishes and better presentation that made them stand out from North bays monatany of burger restaurants and uninspired pub food now it feels like they are trying to be the same as everything around them. The signature cocktails used to be so good too, I dont know why anyone in their right mind would change that but they are no where near as good as they used to be. The bison meatballs without the sauce are great, however the ketchup taste in the sauce really throws the flavour. The lamb curry was better when they first added it to their menu, its still good but the flavour isnt as rich and the chunks are less enjoyable than the shank. Could use something to break the starch on that dish though. The steak was over cooked and under seasoned. But the redeemer is the beer & cheddar soup. The server charged me for things we didnt order, and tried to give us other peoples orders. Fortunately we caught it, but Id recommend watching your bill.

Had a great time with my girlfriend on date night! Service was good, staff were friendly, food was great any of the burgers on the menu are one of a kind in North Bay. Met the manager John who made us feel very welcomed. Think we just found our new go to spot to eat

I had the privilege of celebrating a birthday lunch with some friends last week an d I would be remiss if I didn t mention the excellent service we received from KJ. She was very attentive to our needs and she continually checked up on us during our meal. We were 6 people and we all ordered the special which was beef on on bun. we all enjoyed our meals and the consensus was that we would all go back again. Thank you for such a great experience. Aesthetic is nice. Really nice outfitting of the building. Happy to see such a nice outfit. My concerns were handled well by the store manager or operator. My concern lies with the waitress who seemed sick or at the very least in desperate need of a tissue. The food otherwise was good. Seasonings and fries were good but my burger was dry. Had there not been as much sauce this could have been different. Definitely going to come back and see if this was just a one time thing or if this is a consistent thing. Dietary restrictions: They do have a gluten free menu and state that their fries are not fried with other breaded items.

Way too overpriced for what it is. 33$ for half an eggplant and some Brussel sprouts, feels like I was scammed. Will not order from here again

Did not have a great experience. Our server did not check on us once during our meal. Two other staff assisted with bringing our food and drinks. Our drinks did not show up until much later on until our food came out. Ordered water as well and it was never brought to our table. I have never had food come out with zero drinks on the table. The burgers were small and dry. Had to wave down someone to bring us a menu because we were still hungry and wanted to try an appetizer, took about 15 minutes to get someone to assist us. No one came back to check in so we gave up and did not order. Very poor service. There was an event going on in the area, so it was busy but this level of service was not acceptable. None of want to go back.

This restaurant is modern and comfortable. Parking is available on the main and side streets. Great service with a greeting at the door and a thanks for coming at the end. The food arrived quickly, was delicious and the presentation lovely. I highly recommend the fish and chips!

Very disappointed with the whole experience...food was bland and boring... not worth the money...waitress was snotty and did not make us feel welcome at all..when we told her we had tried to call to make reservations she told us noone answers the phone because it is annoying and that no messages are checked ever...there was only one other group in the restaurant...I think I know why..unless something changes drastically this restaurant will not be around long in North Bay

I ordered the Bison burger and my wife had the mushroom burger, instead of fries we each had the beet salad and our meals were fabulous, with delicious flavours, served fresh, hot and within a reasonable time considering how busy the place was, and we were trying to catch a show at the Capitol centre they have lots of tasty beers on tap, we ended the meal with an Americano, but next time we would stay for dessert. Well worth the price. service was friendly and dedicated to creating a positive experience. Highly recommend!

Review Edit: Went for the Seafood Boil tonight. The food was excellent again and the service had vastly improved over our first visit. Our server, Riley, was attentive, friendly, and made sure we enjoyed our evening. The drinks there are excellent also. Would definitely recommend Initial Review: Food was excellent. Atmosphere was pretty good, would have given 5 stars for that but it was ruined by the poor service. Service was given 1 star because we were actively discouraged from sitting in a booth by the hostess because we were only a couple but two booths were subsequently given to couples after we were seated at a high top. Our server was not good, did not introduce herself or stop to check in on us during our meals, spent a lot of time chatting with another table or loitering at the bar. Our food, drinks and bill were all brought to us by other staff. We did leave a tip for the bartender because he made an excellent Whiskey Sour but not our server. Would go back again and give it another shot as it appeared the other sections of the restaurant were getting good service so hoping to chalk up the poor service to a one off experience. The restaurant was not overly busy so no excuse for the poor service.

Great evening! Food, service and atmosphere was just what we were looking for in a great date night dinner. Parking: It s a straight shot, across the road, walk from the museum parking lot to the restaurant entrance.

Really enjoyed this place. Service was exceptional, and a lot of great choices on the menu. Atmosphere was really warm and inviting. The bathrooms were very clean and modern as well. The prices were also really good.

So happy we went here. We dont eat out often because its too expensive. We went here for my wifes birthday and it was great! For the two of us to eat without drinks it was under $50 with tax and tip which is very reasonable nowadays. The other burger was one of the best burgers Ive had in a long time, like burgers priest but fancier. We will be back!

Took some of the staff here on our day off. 8 of us shared all the apps -- they were all on point. The cocktails were fresh and crisp/well balanced -the mains were very well done. See you guys again soon. Vegetarian options: Our Vegan friend enjoyed both the vegan pate and the Cauliflower Steak!

Atmosphere was amazing. I had the Shepards pie with a few apps. The main course lacked seasoning and the apps were super tiny. I spent $60.00 and left hungry. That seems wrong. Work on your portion sizes guys. $18.00 for an app is steep for what you give. I ll give you guys another chance because you re new.

We were really excited to try this place out. The atmosphere is really great and even though I am rating this at a 2 star, I am planning on returning when the brewery is up and running to give them another shot. To start my issues with this place can all easily be fixed, my son had a pop and I noticed there was no carbonation. Replaced it 3 times without fixing the issue and was told everything was calibrated correctly, to top it off they charged me for every pop that they took back. My daughters meal was wrong twice which we said was fine she will eat it, no discount or proper apology even offered. The fish and chips was excellent, but the fish is extremely small portion. The meals ordered by the others were mediocre at best. Again great atmosphere for a drink, but they need to work on the food.

The food was decent. I wish the beef dip was cut in half, and the bun with the mac and cheese should of had butter on the side. The apple butter old fashioned was yummy and I look forward to trying more drinks.

We had a super tasty lunch of Moroccan Lamb Soup and Spinach Salad with goat cheese. My date had chicken tikka masala. The soup was full of flavour with just the right amount of heat. The salad had a delicious light touch of dressing and very fresh micro greens. The chicken was the perfect amount t for lunch with naan. Try it out!!!

What a very COOL EXPERIENCE! Went here with my Momma and right away felt like my new watering hole. Our server Lexi was super educated, went over and beyond and made our experience there just that much better! Cannot wait to come back here and try another menu item with my friends. I highly recommend it and I absolutely suggest asking for Lexi as your server, if you get the chance!

I have been twice already, and will be heading back soon. The food is excellent. I have shared three appetizers, each unique, tasty, well presented, and appropriately proportioned (fish cake, scallop fritters and cabbage roll balls). Main course between my wife and I have included the gnocchi, lamb pie (amazing), chicken supreme (chicken at a new level), and the pork belly. Each was excellent. We have only tried two desserts and they were worth every calorie. The chef and staff should be cocky and proud. They are performing at a high level. Staff are a hoot. A couple of bugs for a new opening, but not remotely enough to take the shine away. I highly recommend you try this restaurant. It is a fantastic addition to North Bays dining options.

The Block Public House was a great dining experience from start to finish. The food, ambiance and service was exceptional. I love that the restaurant used locally sourced products mostly from t he North Bay Farmers Market. The wait staff knew the food on the menu and had tried several dishes so could make educated food recommendations. I can hardly wait to go back to The Block!

Atmosphere is gorgeous, vibe is great! Wait staff is truly out of this world friendly. Drinks were very good and service was fast. Unfortunately, the food was not overly delicious. Gnocchi was over cooked and the beef Wellington was undercooked (pastry). It was very expensive for subpar food. With that said, we will be back, but hope for a better culinary experience.

Everything was SO GOOD!!!! I had the spicy pineapple margarita, probably the best mixed drink I ve ever had. I also got the pork belly sandwich, wow. It was surprisingly light for the protein choice, and delicious. Incredible, 10/10, nothing bad to say. We also had Sarah serve us, she was so sweet! Thanks so much we ll definitely be back :)

My first visit was so amazing I will go again and again. It is a new and needed addition to North Bay. If you are tired of the same old franchise food and are looking for great food beautifully presented this place is it!

The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are friendly and polite, leaving you lots of time for conversation with your table between courses. Great place for a long social dinner. I will say the Irish Stew is more French style than Irish- heavy on the herbs and salt.

Had the opportunity to finally go and try out this restaurant and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Now where start?! Lets talk about the atmosphere here! Rustic yet classy in a very unique and inviting atmosphere. Now the staff! Our bartender Tikvah was amazing (we sat at the bar)! She was very informative, prompt, professional and personable. The manager Shayla was also very sweet and welcoming. She checked on us to make sure we were happy with everything, in which we were. Now lets talk food! Amazing! The Cabbage roll balls were tasty and unique and did not break the bank. The Bacon Buddy (pork belly sandwich) was a very unique twist with an apple whiskey bbq sauce was to die for and on Sundays is only $10! Accompanied with a side of spinach salad which Tikvah recommended was mixed with fresh micro greens and tossed in a very light orange citrus vinaigrette and was a perfect match to offset the pork belly. The Chef even came out to talk to us to make sure we were enjoying everything! Oh and did I mention $4.00 Caesars on Sundays!? If you check out their Facebook page they have daily lunch specials for $10 which is basically unheard of in this economy. Overall this was a great experience and I cannot wait to return.

The food was great. To start my husband and I tried the liver pâté and the fish cakes for our apps. Best liver pâté Ive ever had and the fish cakes were done to perfection. Crisp on the outside and moist inside. Delicious. For the main course we ordered the beef wellington and the sheppherds pie. I was surprised that they didnt use a tenderloin cut for the beef wellington but it was good and the sheppherds pie was delicious. The raspberry mousse torte ended this wonderful meal. Perfect for 2. We will go back to try different options as everything else on the menu all sounded so good. Tia gave us great service and so thank you for making our rare night out totally enjoyable.

Didn t eat there only had one wine and one cocktail at the bar. Beautiful location. Scoped out the back area for private events- gorgeous. Clean environment. Beautiful. Great location. Can t wait to experience food.

Great music, service & food

The service was friendly. Cocktails were nice. Appetizers and mains were excellent, albeit a bit small in portion size for the price and underseasoned. Desserts were disappointing. Skip and grab a doughnut next door.

Great ambiance however it s too overrated. Food was just okay (not the tastiest) but the portion was super small! We were still hungry after spent almost $22 per meal. Butter chicken rice consist only 3 pieces of chicken breasts and small portion of rice. We were shocked by how overpriced it was. Fish and chips portion was small too. I can get bigger portion at the same price from next door. Even the fries portion was very very small. Dessert was decent but didn t make me want to go back very soon. Overall not worth the price IMO.

I heard rave reviews about the place when it first opened. I was anxious to try the place. The food was mediocre at best. Portions water small. Below average. I wont go out of my way to eat here again! My wife hated the beef dip. I have never heard her say that before. I had the Cochrane burger, for the price it was tiny and came with a handful of fries.

Our first time at The Block Public House. The food was good. Cool environment. However, there s a few caveats. The outside of my glass of wine was filled with sticky fingerprints. They replaced it somewhat quickly. The plates were hot (which is good, right?), but handing them directly to customers hands, including our 93 year old mother, is not good. And why on earth is the restroom on the second floor? Maybe we missed something re elevator? I understand good food takes time, but 2 hrs is a little too long. We re not sure if we ll go back

Came here last night with my wife and mom for a belated mothers day dinner. Very quaint yet elegant establishment, really appreciate the exposed metal work and chandeliers. Not a lot of people are complaining about the service but honestly, that alone could ruin an otherwise stellar experience. It took nearly 45mins for us to receive two Beer and Cheddar soups and a basket of bread. 2 hours for our entire meal-hence we skipped dessert. Its not fine dining, its casual gourmet so we expected more prompt service. We didnt even see our waitress for most of the evening. My mother got annoyed at the lack of attentiveness and only when she clanged our empty water bottle against the end of the table did someone appear to refill it. Our waitress never once came by to apologize for the wait or give us some inkling as when we could expect food. Even the Sous-chef/co-owner wasnt too active around the tables. He should be trying to gather opinions from diners so he can establish a system of continuous improvement. I think he was prompted by our waitress to come an make a statement because of the look of our dismayed faces but prior to that he was a co-host. Now for the meat and potatoes, I had the Irish Stew (more like Irish Soup) it was watery but pretty tasty but they went way, way overboard on the amount of Thyme used. Its all I could really taste. My wife had the fish and chips and while she rarely complains she did say that better and larger portions can be had elsewhere at the same price-point. My mother had the Wellington. The meat was well cooked but she thought it needed more seasoning. Really enjoyed the sauce and garnish this dish came with, purple carrots were amazing. In closing, North Bay lacks upscale dining establishments so its good to see a new kid on the block. I just think this kid is still suffering from some growing pains and maybe Ill come back again in a month or two to give them more time to iron out the kinks, speed up their service. Would like to see more Steak on the menu.

Popped into this new spot yesterday for lunch . What a welcome lunchtime surprise bacon butty and fries $10 ! My wife had the fish wrap which she stated was amazing . The quality of the food was fantastic and the homemade selection of mustards and chutney was a welcome surprise! Service was impeccable and the venue is just what north Bay needed ! . Ive heard people think its pricey but with the current cost of food etc the quality of the food is very high . This establishment would shine in Torontos restaurant hub and shine brightly! I was sh the team here success and will be spreading the word to all I know !

One of my friends saw the half-priced wine promo on Instagram and a group of us had to venture out to take advantage of it! Our waitress was great and was very personable. We shared appetizers, the vegan salsa was delicious and the cabbage balls were a great shareable size. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff at the door greeted us as soon as we walked in and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The exposed brick is one of a kind. Would recommend!

My partner and I heard great things about the new restaurant so we had to try it out ourselves, and it did not disappoint! We were pleased to see so many entree options. My partner had the chicken and he was very happy with it. The chicken wasn t dry like many places. I had the mushroom gnocchi, and was surprised by the portion size. I couldn t finish it at dinner but it made for an excellent lunch the next day! We aren t drinkers but our waitress showed us a beautiful mock tail list. It was refreshing to see a menu with so many non-alcoholic options! Unfortunately we were too full for dessert. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions, and even made some recommendations for us. The service was amazing. She was pleasant, engaged with us but didn t linger too much at the table, and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be returning here with friends in the future. What a wonderful addition to downtown!

Wow! This is THE best kept secret in North Bay. Duck wings and fries for lunch special on Thursday for only $10. Had the beef dip sandwich and fries special for $10 last Friday but was so overwhelmed with the portions and flavour that I forgot to take a picture. Different special each (week?) day for $10. Duck wings were large, crispy and I was offered either Buffalo sauce or Smoked Applewood whiskey BBQ sauce. Server suggested trying both, which I did. A toss up as to which was better, since they were both loaded with flavour. Service was fast and friendly too. Do yourself a favour and get yourself, family and friends in for lunch. You will soon be visiting often just to see what amazing food they are offering as the special. Also drink specials...$5 margaritas all Thursday? Yes, please!

Had dinner on a Saturday night. Tia was our waitress and she was great. Enjoyed the food and the ambiance.

Newest restaurant in North Bay, glad to see one downtown again. Nice atmosphere, front staff was prompt and helpful when I made a reservation. Had to call direct as the third party APP wasnt working. The menu is diverse and has lots of vegan and gluten free options. The soup of the day was fantastic and I met the Sous Chef who made it. My wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala which was very tasty but lacked some extra sauce, nothing to dip the naan into. I had the Irish Stew with Dumplings which again was very good, could have been a little hotter. The overall winner is the staff. So attentive and courteous. I will definitely be going back and telling my friends about it.

Ive had dinner, lunch, appetizers, take-out and cocktails at the Block. Weve been about 5 times now and brought our kids. It was an enjoyable atmosphere. However, each time I was disappointed in the food. The take-out fish was super over-battered. I brought it to dinner with my parents and most of us took the batter off to reveal lovely perch. Too heavy. Mussels came out luke warm and it felt like they were put in a coconut soup; no added veggies to create some texture and interest. Kids didnt love the mashed potatoes that came on their menu. I loved them, but I think too much flavour for kiddos. The point of my review is in the hopes that the chef or manager will read and consider. I will continue to go to the Block; it is a GREAT addition to the downtown. We wont give up on you yet! Great atmosphere, service was incredibly friendly and personable. Had the fish and chips. I ve lived in North Bay for over 40 years the Block definitely has the best fish and chips in North Bay!

Went for lunch on Saturday. Such a sunny day out and The restaurant was dark and not a happy atmosphere The restaurant was so cold. The a/c was blowing and hard to enjoy your food. The place was pretty empty and your conversation could not be heard as the singers music was so loud. The food was nothing to rave about. Will I be back? Definately not!!

AMAZING service! Amazing food and atmosphere! Their new dinner menu has loads of great options (new summer menu?). Everyone was so welcoming, attentive and prompt when bringing food to our table. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars, I would. Great addition to North Bay and will be back time and time again! New favourite spot in North Bay! We ve been there a few times now and everything on their menu is delicious and made with fresh and flavourful ingredients. Their lamb is the most tender and juicy meat ever tasted. Recommend 100%.

Absolutely everything a modern pub style restaurant should be. Great food very local a nice atmosphere great servers and an excellent set of taps to choose from.

Chic historical vibe with modern appeals, decent pub food, dynamite cocktails and really top-notch service. Many ingredients from local/regional farms and many cocktail syrups and mixes made in-house. Close to everything downtown and several nearby parking options.

Tia our terrible sever with an intro enough to make you walk out are we doing anything more exciting than water , last call at 8:30 when opened until 10:00, told not busy enough we are closing at 9, the place was at least halffull, turning people away at the door, declining dessert and drinks, beyond rude, staff requires a major adjustment on customer service and proper etiquette Food was great, drinks were decent, atmosphere is nice, service is enough to not return, good luck with this place, employees need an overhaul

Definitely the gastro-pub to go to in North Bay! We had the pan-seared trout which we nearly licked the plates! Great drink selection in all categories

Cant say enough about this place. The food was great, I had the fish n chips, and we were all looking at each others plate, thinking theirs looked good too! Staff stayed busy keeping a busy restaurant happy. I hope they enjoy working there as much as we enjoyed them waiting on us. And to top it off, when the bills arrived, no one had sticker shock! Highly recommended when youre looking for a place to eat!

Just ate a great meal at the Block. The food was great. Vegetables cooked well and not over done. The Margaritas were delicious and well priced on special tonight. The vibe of the restaurant was perfect and the service was great. We will definetly make this a regular place.

The Block house was a fantastic end to a stressful day! Great atmosphere, welcoming and attentive wait staff, and fantastic food and drink. I hate paying premium for something I could easily have made at home, and the piri-piri chicken and blueberry beet salad did not disappoint!

Cool vibe, service was ok. Food took about 45 minutes to come out, which was fine, but the chicken was luke warm. Two of us had bison burgers (said it was ok), another had fish and chips (said it was good), 1 trout with salad (was ok) and peri peri chicken - 2pc chicken thigh, 6 small potatoes and 10 green beans for $32 just for that meal, didn t feel the value was there.

Our waitress was very cheerful and attentive. She even cracked a few jokes. My fiancé had the Lamb and lentils. She really enjoyed it. I had the Porc chop dinner with mashed potatoes. It was delicious. The service was great and our food came to the table rather quickly. All in all, it was a good experience. We will dine here again. Maybe next time we will save room for dessert.

Absolutely blown away by the Blockhouse Pub! They have a great selection of classics and culinary adventures - special shout out to Tia & Cole, they went above and beyond!!!

I loved the eclectic indie music playing in a cool atmosphere and well designed space. Our server was attentive and the service was great. My steak was perfectly cooked. Half price wine bottles on Wednesdays! And it was good wine! Check this place out, highly recommend! Food

Such a fantastic place!! It has a cool historic vibe but also relaxed. The staff are always nice and the food is good quality. Whenever we go through North Bay, we make a point to go. My only complaint is the recent change in menu. The pub was notable and standout for their authentic British fare like beef Wellington and curry, a meat pâté appetizer, among others. But now they seem to have a more typical Canadian menu, with sweet potato fries and bison burgers, fish tacos, which is disappointing. You can get that anywhere

looking at the menu I think they missed the concept of a public house. definitely not pub fare at all.

The atmosphere is nice there, however, some of our food was under cook, the bison burger was over cooked and dry, t he beer was flat. Best part about dinner was the 6 piece of bread. Food

This place is a welcome addition to Main St. in North Bay. Quality cooking with unique Manu choices !! From the Duck Wings to the Pork Schnitzel... Just excellent. We will be back many times all year.
