Contemporary Canadian meals, including brunch, served in a rustic-chic, brick-lined space.
The best culinary experience I had in Vancouver. This location is convenient with parking close by. Huevos rancheros, chocolate waffles are delicious, highly recommended!
We came here for brunch, and I must say the food was delicious. The potato rosti was so good that we had to order a second one. The lemon French toast is so good and filled with delicious berries. The waffle and the chicken was absolutely delicious as well. I will definitely be coming back for other options.
Highly recommended for the tasty bites! Servers are friendly and courteous. Had pulled pork and steak. Both are soo delicious with great presentation! Their raspberry cuffin is so yummy too.
We ordered Catch burgers with fries & were happy to find another dog friendly nice restaurant with tasty burgers. The staff were so kind & friendly & asked if our dog needed a water bowl under the sun... Of course, I recommend this place... !👌
First time trying this place out. They had a mix of korean fusion brunch. We went with a total of 4 girls each ordered a different drink to try. Most of the lattes were made very well not overly sweet. Service seemed understaffed. The waitress tried to memorize our order . I did remind her maybe to jot it down because we had a lot of different things. Some things were missed or wrong but they did give us a free dessert as an apology, which was nice. Overall the steak bulgogi was really well cooked and I would order it again. The yuzu cronut which was free wasn't worth it, texture was overly hard and didn't have much of a yuzu flavor. Forgot to add a must order is the churros. Soft and warm with a dipping caramel.
Came here for brunch on a weekday and it was very easy to make a reservation online. The interior is so chic and clean. Service was great and staff were friendly. They answered our questions on the menu clearly. We got the -ICED HOJICHA PASSION LATTE -BLACK SESAME LATTE -KFC DUTCH BABY BAKED PANCAKE -SALMON GRAVLAX BAGEL -CAULIFLOWER BENNY -PULLED BBQ PORK SHOULDER BENNY Definitely try to KFC Dutch baby baked pancake, it's unique and taste good. Although the bagel only comes in half, but they were very generous with the smoked salmon so I was pretty full. Cauliflower benny was very delicious as well. We also ordered their croissants. The hazelnut one was so good! I wish we bought more to take home. We spent more than an hour there and the vibe was just so relaxing. I will definitely come back!
Recommend you stop in for a bite here while you explore everything that North Vancouver has to offer. Love the atmosphere and vibe of this cute little corner restaurant. Food was delicious, had the Belt and my friend had the Salmon bagel, service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be coming back to try their Happy Hour specials as I was tempted by their selection of mimosas and margaritas.
We weren't big fan of Catch 122 when it was still in Gastown, but the quality and service has been really good ever since they moved to North Vancouver. The space is brighter and the food is always on point as well. Definitely one of our favourite brunch spots in the city now!!
Had the classic brunch coffee and some mimosas. Very polite and efficient service and the food and drink were great. Probably one of the best brunch spots on the North Shore!
Breakfast was really good!
They propmised us a table in 1 hour to 1:15 minutes. After 1:50 waiting time we still didnt get any table while they had available tables. They have poor time management
I was told the wait time is around an hour. They sat us down after two hours. I had to go and talk to the manager so that they would sit us. It seems like the manager is inexperienced if I have to remind them to enforce the maximum time a party can sit at a table. The food was also overpriced and nothing special. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.
Have been here a couple of times now and the food is always great and the service is also always great. I just have one suggestion and thats to add a change table to one of the washrooms as there does seem to be enough room for one. Food
Wonderful, filling, yet healthy breakfast/brunch. Staff was attentive and churros were great! Food
I especially like the jazz music on Friday nights! Food and drinks are top notch as well
We had the CORNFLAKES CRUSTED HAZELNUT BABKA FRENCH TOAST. It was so decadent and good! Service was great. The space looks lovely but is a little loud. We will definitely be back to try more menu items. Thank you!
Solid brunch. Exceptional service and attentive staff Recommend: - Salmon gravilax bagel. Best ever, all sauces made in house. - Craft cocktails - Ahi tuna Others: Burrata is fresh and delightful. Ask for easy on the oil for the vegetables and salad. Beef cheek tagliatelle. Fresh noodles and tender beef. Duck confit, a Signature. A heavier option. Tasty but juicy fats seeping into the toast and dish. Chicken and waffles. Waffles are fluffy, chicken slightly uninspired Banana bread. Whip cream is delicious, bread was dry. Truffle fries. Would have been better if they were more crisp, and with more truffle. Dietary restrictions: They accommodate gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free well and are very helpful in the process.
This is really cute location in North Vancouver and is much nicer than their previous location in Vancouver. Lots of paid parking available nearby. The menu has changed a lot since I visited the Vancouver location and they have a lot of interesting options. I ordered normal brewed coffee to start and it took almost as long as our food did to come out. It looks like the bar makes all the caffeinated beverages but I don t understand why the coffee took so long given it was in a carafe. The beans in the classic breakfast had a really odd spice to them and potato rosti was mushy. I really wanted to like the food but I would not return given the high price and slow service. Vegetarian options: Mushroom and broccolini for the classic breakfast
One of the best restaurants in the city. Quality and selection of ingredients and plating are all off the charts. Must go if you re in Vancouver
duck >> guava juice was tiny but good worth the travel Food : 5/5
Excellent drinks, delicious snack, and vibrant atmosphere. The truffle fries were divine. Kid-friendliness: There were no issues with my friends little bundle of joy
Such a great spot, we really enjoyed brunch here. Food was so good, unique dishes. Love the beermosa flights, and cocktail selection. Excellent service and a really nice space.
I followed suggestion to preorder Yuzu Jalapeño Brûlée Crount and NY Cheesecake croissant tart, but when I sat down in store, the staff just gave me the completely different cheesecake tart. I was confused but nobody said anything until I asked the staff, she said no figs at the moment so instead of chestnut cream. There were lots customers I believe the store is popular but the staff doesn t have good training to ask about food allergy and just gave me the one I can t eat! Isn t it cheating? They should explain before I ordered but not. How excited I was and how upset I am! I won t recommend this store to anyone.
food isnt served after 2:30pm. Dont come. We came all the way from west van. Such a disappointment.
5 star place for breakfast or brunch! Great service and amazing food! Do yourself a favour and come check it out! Try the fried chicken and waffles. Food : 5/5 |
Catch 122 is one of my favorite brunch spots in North Van. The menu goes way beyond traditional brunch staples and offers dishes with twists from around the world (mexican, french, korean, swedish, etc). My group had the bulgogi steak and egg, the duck confit toast, the chicken and waffles and the pork shoulder benny, all 4 dishes were delicious and I d highly recommend.
Several GF options - all sandwiches and breakfast toasts have the option of GF bread. Server was well informed of celiac protocols.
Food was excellent, customer service was even better and the atmosphere was very nice.
My first visit to catch 122 gets a perfect score...very friendly and attentive staff...dedicated and tasteful food presentation...pricing surprisingly less than expected for a downtown location...inviting decor...I will definitely return to try more menu items Update this restaurant is no longer downtown...now further far in north van
This delightful, buzzing place is close to Lonsdale Quay in North Van. We went there for High Tea, which turned out to be quite a treat. Their food is awesome, and the service is friendly and courteous.
Disappointing lunch. Ordered the Classic which at 20.00 should make an impression. My guest had it with bacon, one slice. I had mine with sausage, 1 piece of sausage, very dry. The eggs are just 2 sunny side up eggs, nothing to write home about. The potato rosti is basicallly a wedge of hashbrowns, again, nothing interesting, and quite salty. All in all, just boring and not worth ordering ever again. The regular coffee is not great, so go across the street for a real coffee. Have had other meals here that were better - this was a big disappointment and I left hungry. Too bad. Service was fine.
Cute space in a nice location. Staff were friendly and the sweet french toast and french toast and waffles were both super delicious.
Where else can you get Entremet, Korean fried chicken on a dutch baby, waffles and cornflake crusted French toast all in the same place? Consistently high quality, delicious food, good portions and service. Certainly one of the best (if not the best) brunches not just on the North Shore, but the entire Vancouver area. Please dont change anything!
NOWHERE on the website does it say that food isnt served after 2:30pm. We drove all the way from Surrey - nearly an hour each way, all to be turned away the second we entered. Such a disappointment. Went to Tap & Barrel instead - where food was actually served, and it was delicious.
Great new spot for dinner! The live jazz music really added to the atmosphere, and the cocktails were great.
Love jazz band, tasty food
Good brunch options, good coffee, the sweets but not too sweet section on the menu is great. The Mushroom toast was another level
Here on a Friday lunch and the food is horrible. The pulled pork souce is acidic, the salad looks dressed hours ago and the hashbrowns are very greasy and oily. Very disappointed. Food
My partner and I were in the area celebrating, we had chosen to have brunch at the North Vancouver Catch 122 location however, it was disappointing. I recall the downtown Vancouver location being more formal and with impeccable service. They worked alongside with me in the past to surprise my partner for his promotion, see attached picture. However, the North Vancouver location, the service appeared mediocre. We experienced some awkward interactions with staff (staff hastily walking and proceeding to cut us off while we were being escorted to our table, and staff holding the main door closed with a tight grip while we attempted to exit the restaurant). The staffing for that hour appeared untrained and awkward. Food was amazing however, I will not be returning due to overall poor experience.
After 1 year update: I wanted to see if theyve adjusted for the better after a year and my experience was a lot better. We still had to wait but they have set up a text messaging queueing system so theres no way to be forgotten. And we tried the chicken and waffles again. They didnt have waffles today but they had french toast which was really good. The chicken was much better because it was not a greasy mess and the batter plus dressing was quite flavourful. Although, the chicken itself was overcooked and dry but I think its because they are using a mix of chicken breast and chicken thigh (even though the menu says chicken thighs). Finally, I have to recommend the yogurt parfait, its really good. Original: The frustration started when we couldnt make a reservation on OpenTable, we even tried 2 months in advance. Why even have the link available on your Google Maps entry? We called in and found out they only take rsvp for dinner and high tea and that we can call the day of to put our name down for brunch. So we put our name down the day of but missed the call and they didnt attempt a second call. We arrived at the store 2 min after the call and they had already seated another party, fair enough. The host let us know we could be seated in ~20 min and that he would call again. After waiting in direct sun outside for more than 45 min, we asked what the status of our position in line was and the host did not even have our name down. He ended up giving us a table belonging to some other person. The front line service staff needs more training. Also, the food really isnt worth the price. There are much better brunch places around here.
Every plate was perfect. I would definitely visit this again
I visited Vancouver years ago and here I am writing a review because I ve haven t tasted a better eggs Benedict since. Nice place for a rainy day.
Amazing food, pastries and cakes, highly recommend!
The waiter recommended me some Mexican inspired brunch with fried tortillas and salsa. I just had few bites and then I couldn t eat it. After I came home I had a terrible stomach I would not recommend this place
North Van cafe and eatery. Brunch plates are huge, tasty and you could share one between two. Coffee was good and the place was modern and clean. Great place to start your North Van journey
Unbelievable breakfast spot! So many delicious options to choose from. Everything we got was great. Fun drink menu and great service.
The second time to taste delicious Vietnamese cuisine, each dish is very authentic and delicious.
This place is amazing! The food is soo good and the service is excellent! I am very picky with restaurants and this one in my favorite list!
For the price that they charge, I find that the portions are rather small. I have already been here a few times and I didnt think that the food was very outstanding for me. Parking is not easy to come by, unless you park at the quay.
The food and service are good, the products are quality, if you want to eat healthier food, this is the place. The bread is very delicious and so is the avocado toast, I recommend coming if you are in the area!
It s unfortunate cause everything here is so awesome but I can t stand places that cheap out on drinks. They have a lavendar oat latte that I love but it comes in the smallest cup to go and they don t even fill it up to the top for 8 dollars after taxes and tip. I mean the least you can do is fill it up to the top. This latte is delicious and wouldn t you want to keep your customers happy? Very disappointing
Love their coffee and pastries.
This is such a nice spot. You can treat it like a dine-in brunch restaurant, a takeaway cafe with baked goods, or dine-in dinner restaurant for certain evenings. The location and atmosphere are really nice and I loved the food and specialty coffees. Great quality all around.
I feel very passionately about this establishment. Absolutely outstanding. Every sip and every bite. Delicious. Everything I mean EVERYTHING is made in house or locally sourced. Incredible. Every option on the menu is unique and just delicious. Edit: I have been here twice and I am never disappointed. Truly a gem. The KFC pancake is absolutely delicious and so unique. So many flavours Service is also absolutely lovely.
Amazing breakfasts and rich, smooth lattes.
Have been here 3x and each one has been excellent. Recommend.
Such delicious food and the pastries! YumNomNomNomNom! Try the espresso crookie and the cinnamon roll
Ocean wise, Chef Will and Catch popup made for an delightful night of sustainable seafood food extravaganza
I didn t eat here but I was walking past today on Friday June 7th at 7:30pm. I don t know if the piano was part of the restuarants live music or just a man playing it but he was AMAZING. The vibes were so high and he looked like he was having the time of his life. If anyone knows who this pianist was please let them know that they are killing it at what they do and will be definitely checking out this place sometime soon because of them. Give this man a raise and a record deal.
Thursday dinner from Catch 122 saved the day. The steak ordered rare was perfectly delivered. Delicious. The only disappointment was the eggplant puree- which tasted like a broken sauce of fat and no flavour. I didn t understand it. I really appreciate the staff. Visit this gem!
We went here for dinner and enjoyed their starters. Great dinner! We had the steak tartar, burrata and tuna. It s a great brunch location as well.
Loved brunch here. Definitely will be back to try more items. The food was great and service was friendly. The mimosa flight was a little underwhelming as the portions were small. But besides that we had a great meal and will be back. Food : 5/5
This was my first time here and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend you try the ceviche and the octopus, they were my favourite but every single thing I had was soooo gooood! I also had to try a bunch of pastries/desserts from Dilemma By Catch, they made everything in house from scratch in the same kitchen as Catch 122 so you KNOW its good! My brother agreed the hazelnut crusted coign amain (croissant roll) was the best croissant weve ever had in our lives so you NEED to try this!!
I came during lunch hour and must have been really lucky to have gotten a table so quick as the place was packed. The food was fantastic. Service was also good. I came here to catch up with a friend so even though the place was packed I was able to carry a conversation with my friend without having to raise my voice.
Great vibe and amazing service but the coffee and pastries arent as good. If you want to have a great coffee with fresh crispy croissant it s not the place, but for hanging out with friends and having a casual brunch it s ok :) I would not recommend this place to a friend!
Came here for brunch and it was very busy! Definitely recommend getting a reservation as you ll be waiting for a while without it. The restaurant is very bright due to the large windows, and the decor is modern and earthy. The staff were very accommodating and the food came quickly after we ordered. Brunch was very filling and we thoroughly enjoyed our dishes.
We ve eaten here before and so far it s been a great dining experience, however, this time that wasn t the case unfortunately. Not only was there a spider in our jug of water, there was also hair in their deep fried mushroom. My mom gets really disgusted over these things and had to leave so we asked for them to also cancel her order which she wasn t even able to take a bite of. They said that s not their responsibility and that they won t be doing anything about her order but they would cancel the order with hair in it. It s baffling how we didn t even receive a proper apology about this whole situation. Their manager also went out of their way to be like we were even kind enough to let your dad bring in food from outside which had nothing to do with the current issue. We replied that they should have said something about it when we walked in as we didn t know they would have a problem with us bringing a piece of toast from home. All in all, my family and I had pretty unpleasant experience this time around and we will not be going back.
All good.
Higher quality food than other breakfasts I ve had in Vancouver. Wait times can be a little longer on the weekends. Friendly and polite staff. This was my second time at Catch 122 Cafe. First time I had Huevus Rancheros and I liked it better than Pulled Pork this time.
Goood good
Great brunch experience to begin our cruise week to Alaska.
Good food and atmosphere. Great presentation.
My FAVOURITE brunch place. Delicious.
The food was tasty and would recommend. However the prices are just too high for the portion delivered.
CRÈAM BRÛLÉE CRONUT Changed my damn life
We stumbled across this Bistro and decided to try it for Brunch. Our entire party was delighted with our meals of Chicken & Waffles, BBQ Pulled Pork Bennies, Huevos Rancheros and Dutch Baby Pancake. We also loved our Americanos, Cappuccinos and London Fogs. Would definitely recommend! Kid-friendliness: The restaurant was welcoming for our little one and we saw a highchair brought to another table.
At first I was a bit sceptical due-to 4.3 raiting on google maps, but turned out most of the bad reviews are 3-6 years old. Right now this is an amazing place for a brunch with a really interesting menu. We had bulgogi steak n eggs and chicken waffles, our friends - french toast and cauliflower benny. bulgogi steak n eggs - is really flavourful and well balanced. I really liked rice cake and the steak itself was really good. Chicken waffles - the chicken itself I would say was a bit dry to my taste, I would appreciate it to be a bit more juicier. French toast - looks amazing, not your typical french toast. However, if you not really into sweet stuff, you can find it a bit overwhelming. Stuff is nice and overall we had a great time. Update 2024 Came back to the new location. This time I went for Dutch baby pancake and it was outstanding, my top pick at this place. I enjoyed their brewed coffee. The only thing I noticed is that the service was a bit slow, food came really fast, but we had to wait quite some time to order and then to receive a bill. Overall still great experience Vegetarian options: They have many veggie options Parking: Easy to find a parking place Kid-friendliness: They offer child seat and have a kids menu
The salad was unbearably salty and the pork on my tacos was cold.
Food and service both were amazing
The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. Service was great and the place had a great vibe. Definitely coming back more often.
The food is good however Staff are not too friendly. Will I revisit?.. probably not.
Food was good. The service was fast and the ladies working were very nice.
This is a superb brunch spot. A lovely location close to the shore. Amazing selection of drinks and dishes. Beautiful presentation and delicious.
Recently dined at this bistro for brunch and was thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious , impeccably presented, and accompanied by exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly, enhancing the overall experience. Additionally, the coffee, sourced from a local company, was flavorful and satisfying. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this establishment.
Had dinner with a friend and the two of us shared the beef cheek tagliatelle and braised shorts ribs. Very delicious and generous portions! Would definitely recommend.
Great little brunch spot in Lonsdale. We got two dishes & two drinks. We got the Tiramisu Latte (8/10) and the Nutella Hot Chocolate (10/10). Boyfriend is a huge hot chocolate lover and gets it everywhere he goes and he says this nutella hot chocolate is the best he ever had! We got the Bulgogi Steak & Eggs and the KFC Dutch Baby Baked Pancake. Really good 10/10 was not expecting all those flavours. I would definitely come again!
The menu sounds awesome but at the time to serve it s missing flavours The service was good and the ambiance need a bit more Great place but with some ups and downs Food : 2/5
Amazing brunch dishes with complex, impeccable flavours. The pulled pork egg Benny is topped with a delightful salsa Verde. The KFC fried chicken with pancake was delightful, with the pickled cabbage bringing acidity that balances with the sweet Korean fried chicken. Thoroughly impressed. Will say goodbye to OEB for now and come to Catch 122 instead.
Edit: returned Jan.24 for Dine Out - great 3-course options. The star was the Kale Salad with egg/orange/almonds which was absolutely fabulous and really needs to be on their regular brunch menu!!! ---- Catch 122 moved to North Vancouver (from Gastown) in Jan.23, so the reviews here may be confusing - same people, totally different location. Had a nice brunch of drinkies, and tasty pulled pork benny and BELT (bacon/egg/lettuce/tomato) sandwich. Pastries looked delish - quite the selection. Cheery and helpful staff, nice and bright decor. Note that theyre hoping to open for dinner once they can get enough staff.
Best from all the dineout restaurants! Korean Beef tartar was stunning.
An exceptional dine out meal and great service. Loved absolutely every bite of the 6 dishes we tried. Highly recommend!
Dinner was delicious. So much flavour in every bite. Already looking forward to coming back for brunch and high tea! The staff seemed to enjoy working there and that was refreshing as well.
We made a reservation for tonight - 1. There was no mention that it was Dine Out only (we booked with that intention but we saw people walk out because of this). 2. There was no mention at the booking of a two hour limit. Our food was good and the Dine Out menu was great but The front of house said our table would be a few minutes and there is no where to stand out of the rain and no offer of the bar for a drink while we wait. Our server was not very welcoming and just wanted our order as soon as possible. We waited a long time to order drinks. We had to flag her down to order another drink. A random server came to our table and took the drinks menu without asking and walked away without any acknowledgment. Also at the exact two hour mark we were told we need that table . There was no line up, no one waiting and we weren t offered an alternative spot while we finished the drinks we ordered and she allowed us to order. Overall the food was not worth the experience.
My boyfriend and I ate here last weekend for brunch. I had been here a couple of times and thought it would be a good spot for us. When we arrived we were put on a 40 minute waitlist, which was ok so we went to grab coffee elsewhere while we waiting. We got a text after 10 minutes saying our table was ready so we dumped our drinks and walked over, only to find that not only was our table still dirty but the previous party was still sitting in it. So we waited at the door for another 10 minutes before we were seated, when we could have been drinking the coffees we dumped out. After we were sat at the bar and had ordered our food. When I tell you that at one point there were at least 10 plates on the pass that sat for over 5 minutes I do not lie. There were three people behind the bar polishing cutlery, taking things out of the bar dishwasher, etc. that we all saw run food later and I am baffled that so many dishes sat for so long. One of them was my meal which arrived stone cold. Im not big on food waste so I ate it without complaint but we wont be going back here.
We visited Catch 122 for the first time during Dine Out Vancouver. They are masters of beautiful presentation and delicious cuisine. My girlfriend started with silky Prawn Chowder, followed by generous perfectly seasoned and cooked Steelhead portion over saffron pecorino risotto and finished with an equally generous light and fluffy Basque Cheesecake. I started with a Korean Steak Tartare, what a wonderful twist: WOW!, followed by a tender and perfectly cooked rare Strip-loin Steak (with roasted smoked eggplant: WOW! and a potato cake encrusted with hand made potato chips and garlic flakes, and a small haystack of slender taro fries). My dessert was a superb dark chocolate ganache. Our waitress Sophia was friendly and attentive, making our visit very pleasant. Not realizing at the time who she was, the co-owner came around to each table to explain each course.
We came for the 3 course dine out menu with wine pairings. The service was great and the ambience was lovely. Majority of the food was delicious and the drink pairings were perfect, but the potato that comes with the steak was extremely salty. It almost tasted like it had been seasoned twice by mistake? My husband and I dont shy away from properly seasoned foods with a good amount of salt, but we didnt even finish eating the potato as it wasnt enjoyable at all. Slightly disappointed that the kitchen/waitstaff didnt offer any kind of resolution to make up for it. We will probably come again as we enjoyed our experience overall, but hopefully all items on the plate will be properly seasoned next time.
We tried the dine out Vancouver and it was a pleasant experience with great food and customer service. We d like to go back for a brunch next time.
Food was pretty good, but the steak got a bit fatty at the end so it was hard to chew and I didn t finish it all.
What a great little spot. Two of us. Had to share plates and one main meal. And there was plenty of food. The tuna dish was absolutely delicious, the squid was perfectly prepared, and the the steelhead fish stole the show. Will definitely want to come by later and try the brunch menu.. Be prepared for a line. Worth it.
Despite having been here multiple times (the only brunch place to have this honour in Van ) I realised I never reviewed Catch 122. Located somewhat inconveniently in North Van, their dishes remind me of Melbourne Asian-inspired brunch menu. Place was bright and airy with nice lighting from the floor to ceiling windows. Service was just the right amount of friendly, not overbearing yet attentive enough to make sure water is never empty. Drinks were unfortunately very average across the board. KFC Dutch Baby Baked Pancake ($23) 9/10 Despite not being recommended by the staffs (apparently their bestsellers are eggs benedict, steak&bulgogi, and chicken&waffle), I found this dish to be the best in terms of uniqueness and flavour profile. Fusion style brunch can be tricky to pull off, yet Catch 122 managed to do so by combining Korean spicy gochujang sauce with Western style pancake and fried chicken offerings. All the other sides (kimchi, aioli, etc.) also work together to elevate the dish even more. Cauliflower Benny ($19) 8.5/10 A vegetarian take on traditional benny, this one used croquette instead of english muffin. I typically avoid eggs benedict as I often found it to be and overwhelmingly eggy dish, but this one was quite light due to the veggies and pickles. Probably not for everyone, but it is one of the few egg benedict dishes I could enjoy. Cornflakes Hazelnut Babka French Toast ($22) 8/10 A twist of traditional brioche french toast by using babka and deep frying it ala HK french toast. This was right up my alley, perfectly crunchy, sweet, yet also balanced by espresso cream and berries. I also liked how they separated the maple syrup so you can adjust based on preference. Please make this available during weekday as well. Tres Leches Dutch Baby Pancake ($19) 6/10 Surprisingly, even as a sweet brunch lover, I found this dish to be underwhelming. As somebody who like tres leches cake, I found that this dish didn t really resemble the actual cake in terms of flavour. The semifreddo and whip also really make this dish heavy. Chorizo Breakfast Sandwich ($21) 5/10 I only tried a bit from my friend s other but I remember it being very mediocre. Portion was very big so she couldn t finish. Best part was the crispy chips. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian menu available
Great brunch place in North vancouver. Food is very tasty and it has a cozy atmosphere.
Amazing breakfast and drinks. I ordered their matcha latte, and it is honestly the best matcha Ive had by far. Their Hojicha was just as great. Their hashbrowns were the best, very crispy and delicious. Atmosphere is nice, I highly recommend eating here for breakfast/brunch.
Catch 221 Cafe is an absolute gem nestled in North Vancouver. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing meal or coffee. We indulged in their crème brûlée cronut, and it was a heavenly treat! The cronut was a delightful fusion of flakiness and creaminess, with the perfect caramelized crust reminiscent of a classic crème brûlée. Alongside this divine creation, their almond cake was a delightful addition to their menu. The cake was moist, rich in flavor, and had a perfect balance of sweetness. The diverse menu offers delicious breakfast and mouthwatering lunch options. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The food is fresh, flavorful, and served with care. A must-visit for anyone seeking a charming cafe with fantastic food, service, and unforgettable sweet treats!
Reservation for 1030. It took 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Food was well presented, but tasted bland. It was a nice breakfast joint to try out. Based on price and what you get, I wouldnt recommend.
We were pretty much ignored for most of the time here, it took ages to even get coffee, and it was served with curdled cream. The food was completely underwhelming, under seasoned and over cooked. The chorizo breakfast burger came with maybe a half dozen of the blandest, greasiest, unseasoned potato chips. And then we had to sit at an empty table for almost 15 minutes to get a check. This is the second time Ive had a bad meal and bad service here. Honestly theres so many better places to eat and have coffee thats drinkable.
Everything was perfect to have a good afternoon with friends and speak and finish it with a delicious food ,nice dishes, good vibes in the cafe ,enjoyed a lot
Came here with friends. Impressed by the food in terms of flavor, presentation and vibe. Perfect place to have brunch in north Vancouver. Will come back for sure !
It was our second time here for lunch and we weren t disappointed. We shared the Burger with Truffle fries and Pulled Pork Benny. Here s our rating based on dine-in lunch: Food: 5/5 great value. Fresh food and good-sized portions. Good selection of breakfast choices, lunch, salads, and waffles. Service: 4/5 servers asked us a couple of times if we needed anything Atmosphere: 5/5 clean with a great vibe for get-togethers with family or friends, and meetings Parking: 3/5 a bit of a challenge as it s near Lonsdale Quay. We parked off of 3rd & Lonsdale. Location: 4/5 close to SeaBus, and bus. They re across the street from the Quay
Absolutely phenomenal I shared the duck confit, the pirate spiced rum chai and the KFC Dutch baby pancakes with fried chicken The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned, lots of flavor combinations and fusions that came through well together My only feedback would be to make the spiked chai have more tea/chai spice to complement the addition of the rum Overall my new favorite brunch spot based on my first experience!
If you havent tried this place you are missing out on a real gem. Everything is made in house & is absolutely delicious. The staff are awesome & while it isnt the cheapest place to go it is certainly worth every penny you spend, (not to expensive thought) so again if you havent tried it - GO !!
Had dinner there during Dine Out Vancouver and left very disappointed. The tables are very close together such that you cant help but listen in on the conversation next to you. Our chowders and deserts were good, but the mains were unimpressive. The catch of the day in particular was very bland, and the strip loin serving was tiny. We spent almost $100 per person, and expected better than this. The biggest disappointment was when the bill came. We were there at 5pm and had been given the happy hour menu from which we ordered our drinks. On the bill, the drinks were full price. Upon questioning this, we were told that the happy hour menu didnt apply to Dine Out Vancouver. They should have told us that upon arrival, or better yet, just not given us that menu. Nothing worse than leaving a restaurant with the feeling that youve been screwed.
Very popular brunch spot in Lower Lonsdale, while very tasty food with an Asian twist the wait to get in can be quite long, as they don t take weekend reservations expect to have to wait upwards of an hour to get a seat. Once in though the food options are great and the portions are generous, you won t leave here feeling hungry. Recommend the Pull Pork Eggs Benedict and the KFC Dutch Baby, the mimosas also go down very well!
Sooo yummy! Brunch was great
Delicious spot just by the Quay, lots of options that I want to come back to try. Not only good for brunch/breakfast, but they have a nice selection of treats and pastry to try as well. Go early if you go. It fills up quick. Food
10/10! It was our first time visiting today and our entire party of 4 loved the place. The food was delicious, the portions were great and the staff was incredibly friendly - will definitely be back
This is my second time at Catch 122 and the food is delicious. A lot of flavors and the menu is very diverse. A great addition to Lonsdale Quay!
My husband and I seemed to be an inconvenience to the staff. We walked in and many staff ignored us then they chose to greet people who walked in after us. After having to make ourselves noticed the server was obviously less happy to seat us. 50min wait to eat after being treated awful is a no return for us.
[Review before the move] Pancakes are amazing, everyone was happy with what they got [Review after the movie] the skins on the potatoes are so flavourful, the biscuit the pulled pork was served on was a tad dry, but once the soft poached egg yolk soaked in a bit it was perfect! and their Yuzu/caramel apple/ vanilla bean French toast has the perfect combo of flavours. it was basically dead when we got there so we were seated right away and served quickly.
I recommend.
Very unique breakfast items, we loved it. Excellent presentation, flavour and quality. Would definitely go back.
Top tier brunch! I was looking for a good Sunday brunch, this place was well reviewed so we checked it out. Everything was amazing. Pork Shoulder Benny was server recommended and it was amazing. Too many good options, we will be back for sure.
Had brunch there twice last week. The menu, food and presentation are all great. I am looking to return soon.
Amazing experience!
What a great breakfast experience at Catch 122. Everything was prepared so beautifully, from the coffee coming on a wooden tray, to the pancake looking so decadent, and the pulled pork benedict being soo delicious. Even the side salad had a delicious dressing - everything prepared for with such purpose! Great service, too. Everyone was knowledgeable and kind. Well be back!
The first time i went to the North Vancouver location it was amazing and everything was made with care. It was my new favourite breakfast place. Today not as much. 1. when i ordered the Huevos Rancheros, it was swimming in so much sauce it looked like soup (way too much, tried removing some but was coated, felt a bit ill after). 2. I asked for hot sauce. They asked sriracha or homemade? . Homemade of course. Did not tell me they charge for condiments? Yes it was only $1.50, but don t charge for condiments! 3. Don t hand my a payment machine that starts with 22% tip. If the service is great I will tip up. You trying to push me to tip unreasonably high makes me want to go low. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. A little quality control and attention to detail and Catch22 coule be amazing again.
The food is phenomenal. The mimosa flight is pretty overpriced for the amount you get but we will still come back for the food.
Absolutely delicious brunch! Can t wait to try the whole menu.. Vegetarian options: Divine Food : 5/5 |
Their Iced Matcha latte with Fresh Guava is a must try! The banana Bread is very different from other places, which is why it s so unique and tastes so good. Food
Stopped by to check out catch 122 today and will definitely be coming back! The host was awesome and sat us quickly and our server was exceptional too. Not to mention the food and drink were delicious!
Delicious breakfast in a warm friendly atmosphere. Id eat here again.
Amazing brunch
I ordered the cauliflower Benny. Overall it tasted good. The caeliflower was a bit mushy even though it was fried. Presentation was great. I also tried the yogurt parfait and because of the ricotta cheese it was a bit grainy.
We had the best brunch experience here! The chorizo sandwich and crunchy French toast were delicious and our sever Andrea was so friendly! Will definitely come back :)
I had a chicken sandwich. Chicken was bitter and black color. I wanted to complain. But my friend recommended to go there. So I couldnt complain. Because she was with me.
Wanted to check this place out for a while and luckily they came to north van! Great location, super close to seabus and busses, right off the main path of the quay in a beautiful corner location. We tried the cornflake Baka bread French toast, the salmon bagel, pulled pork eggs Benny, crème brûlée cronut and churros. The food was amazing, from the pastries to the main dishes, everything had beautiful presentation and even better flavour. I was very pleased to see the salmon bagel was not just a typical boring bagel but open faced on a fancy bagel type bread. All of the servings were quite large and very filling. This is a great option for a nice brunch, celebration or even to grab some baked goods while on a walk at the quay. We loved it here and came back another day to try the kfc baby pancakes and steak and egg. Solid 10/10. My favourite brunch spot! Such delicious flavour combinations and amazing creativity putting these dishes together.
I wish we could have more places like this in Vancouver Absolutely love everything!
Went all tthe way home and no potatoes in our benny order. Check your orders, this place is has poor QA/QC. Hope it improves
Deliciousness
I ordered the classic brunch, the smoke taste wasnt good at all. The portin and presentation was good though.
Very delicious and creative options for brunch. I enjoy that what they give you is pretty decent value. My only issue with the place is just how close tables are. You can hear the conversations of your neighbours very clearly.
A beautiful space with great food and service.
Good and well balanced foods but not sure if I want to go back. When you add tips on the card machine, be careful!! First one you see is not 18%.. the other way around.
Definitely the best brunch in North Van
Excellent brunch! Lots of different options. Great location and atmosphere.
The Most worst experience for brunch . The worst service ever we got
Everything is awesome. We ate the 5 days in a row while staying at North Vancouver.
came here a while ago with my boyfriend for brunch and it was so good!! i got the mushroom toast and he got the salmon toast and we kept stealing bites of each others food :)
Love this restaurant so much! My favourite in all of the Vancouver lower mainland.
Amazing food, loveliest staff, phenomenal brunch and pastries. Catch 122 has been my favourite restaurant since I found it near the end of 2022 when they were just finishing their time in Gastown. Ive been a few times since they moved to Lonsdale and its more wonderful than before with a patio, dinner service, and more central space for the baked goods. Its a three minute walk from the sea bus, which is a sweet, beautiful, and cheap 15-minute adventure from Waterfront Station. A group of friends brought me for the first time and it had been one of their faves for years. I can see why. Ive brought others here and it has not disappointed anyone. The baked goods are so good and go so early that I order mine with brunch noting that I might need to take them to go. The pastries sometimes make it out of the restaurant. Ive never had any portion of a meal here that wasnt done well with a special touch. The chef and kitchen staff are food geniuses! The cherry tomatoes in a salad on the side were roasted to extra deliciousness. The dressings and sauces always pop with flavour. There was a green salsa on top of a benedict sauce that tasted like it should have always been like that. The alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails have always been tasty hits (and thats not always true for me). The staff are the loveliest - Sophia, Atticus, Sam, and the rest of the crew always make me feel like I am welcomed warmly time and again. Some favourites of mine: creme brûlée cronut (most of the cronuts), kouig amman, hojicha rosemary latte - the roasted matcha is something else, the rosemary latte. I love that oat is the base for most of the lattes without having to ask. The ceviche was lovely and fresh. The fish of the day was done amazingly well. For brunch, I love the BBQ pulled pork benny, the standard breakfast with the amazing thickly cut bacon, and the corn-flake crusted delicacy whose name escapes me.
We tried Catch 122 Cafe Bistro for the first time yesterday, after seeing the many great reviews. Unfortunately our visit left us with mixed feelings. The atmosphere and ambiance were great, with inviting decor. However, the food quality and service were disappointing. Some things we experienced included: -being served fries with no sauce (ketchup) until requested -the catch burger ordered was surprisingly bland in flavour. This is coming from someone who normally eats bland meals. -our server was inattentive to water and coffee refills until requested. We were left without water and coffee until the end of the meal. -default tip prompt was set to 22%
The ceviche was incredibly delicious!
I had an amazing breakfast here. The flavours were like a party in my mouth. I will be back!
DINERS BEWARE! My wife previously enjoyed her breakfast but dinner is a completely different story. We went in on a not very busy Friday evening and it was disappointing to say the least. The cocktails were expensive and terrible. One was watery and the other was so harsh and acidic it was undrinkable. Eventually had to settle for a beer flight. The menu read so nicely but didnt even meet average given the prices. The Tuna appetizer sounded nice but was poor, fried rice cake was salty and the yuzu dressing which it really needed was nowhere to be found. The tagliatelle (which was actually a papardelle) was raw and inedible and the beef cheek was well cooked but unremarkable. The $48 Branzino special advertised by our server as completely deboned was, you guess it, full of bones and overcooked to a mush. The accompanying seafood was quite good with what little there was. It didnt help that they attempted to serve a full-sized dish on such a small plate. Imagine getting a bone-in ribeye on a cereal bowl. Service wise, no one seemed to care that we werent happy and we did politely mention these errors. No offers for something else or to try to make things better. Young staff walking on the floor using their phones and in and out from bar seats to behind the bar. So no real manager front of house, no real chef at the back of house, on a Friday evening dinner service. $186 for 2 people and left hungry. Goodbye Catch 122, hello another mediocre chain restaurant for Lower Lonsdale. Sad.
We were on a vacation visiting from WA state. Found this gem near our hotel. Had 2 of the most amazing breakfasts, only bested by the pastries. Cannot say enough. GO Here! Vegetarian options: Many options for vegetarians and vegans
Service a little slow (surprisingly busy for a Thursday?) but food and coffee were awesome. Great brunch spot.
Awesome, the food was really good!! Good service, and nice place to have breakfast. Food
The food is very delicious, good seasoning
Professional and friendly service !! One of the best avocado toast I ever had . Highly recommended .
Good food but quite expensive.
Salmon gravlax was phenomenal
I really enjoyed my brunch here. The portions were very filling and very delicious. It was also a beautiful environment. I really wanted to try their pastries and desserts as well, but I was so stuffed that I couldn t eat anymore. I will definitely be coming back again.
Visiting from Toronto, had the best Huevos Rancheros, so fresh, delicious. Amazing churros. Better than Mexico. So absolutely authentic. Delicious drinks. Would recommend the mimosa flight!!!
Pulled pork eggs Benedict with a Mimosa flight. The best way to start off a Friday morning!
Really delicious I think it s really the number one in Vancouver. Can I drive directly to Taiwan / The pulled pork benny is really delicious The latte is also very smooth. Everyone must order these two items when coming here! (especially shredded pig)
Nice clean restaurant with a happy shiny finish that served us a great burger with truffle fries today. There are lots of places to eat in this fascinating Shipyard District, but keep this one high on your list. Their menu is aimed at brunch but the burger we shared on potato bread was perfect for a late lunch.
Great food! Great atmosphere abd service!!
We found a small error on our receipt, which was resolved immediately. Our brunch was one of the best we had in recent years, would definitely recommend! (their almond croissants are amazing) 5/5
Food was great, service was slow and unattentive. Lowest tip on the machine is 18% which I hate, especially when service isnt great.
Easily the best brunch spot on the north shore
Incredible lavender latte and chocolate babka!
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, I stumbled upon Catch restaurant while looking for a place to dine out. It turned out to be one of the most impressive dining experiences Ive had recently. The staff who guided us to our table and took our orders were exceptionally kind, a rarity these days. This alone makes me want to revisit. We ordered three dishes and when we mentioned wed like to share, they promptly brought three plates. Overall, the setting was clean and inviting. The flavors of the food were rich and delightful, providing immense satisfaction throughout the meal. After leisurely enjoying our food, we took a stroll around the area, capping off a thoroughly delightful Sunday lunch. This is definitely a restaurant Id love to visit again.
Nice quiet place for breakfast, food was great. The coffee was fantastic
Great brunch. Our new favourite in North Van. Lots of good sweet and savory options. Love the French press coffee option. Service is friendly, but they are not super attentive (I.e. needing to flag them down for refills, the bill, etc..)
Excellent ranchero eggs!!
This Cafe Bistro is located near Londale Quay Market in North Vancouver. You can tell that this restaurant is a must-visit from the positive reviews and the line I saw when I passed by the other day. So, I decided to give this restaurant a try. I ordered the Bulgogi Steak N Egg, and the concept of this dish should be inspired by Korean bibimbap served in a stone pot. The steak is tender and well-seasoned. The combination of pecorino sushi rice cakes, sunny egg, kimchi and steak is interesting, with a traditional yet innovative feeling. The vegetables are average in taste, but they provide a good balance to the overall dish, helping to cut through the richness. It allows you to enjoy the meal without feeling too greasy. For my drink, I ordered Yuzu Cloud. The taste is alright, with a refreshing feeling. For me, its a bit spicy, and Im not sure if its from the yuzu juice itself or the jalapeno syrup. Overall, Im satisfied with this meal. The dining environment inside the restaurant is nice, with good lighting and plenty of seating. The restaurant is not too noisy, making it suitable for enjoying a meal. If I have the chance, I will come back to try other dishes.
Excellent Chicken & Waffles; a mixture of soft, crispy, sweet & savoury. Our party enjoyed our time immensely. Coffee was burnt.
In my experience at catch 122, i had a benny which took a spot in my top 3 benny list. Mind you, the coffee was burnt. Coffee is like the sister of breakfast and it needs to be hot and not burnt. Lovely food but the sister was burnt. In conclusion, yummy yummy. Sincerely, Colin Chatfield
Food wasnt that great bacon was under cooked only had sour dough no other options
Cosy cafe, great service and nice brunch ! Its also a convenient short walk from the sea buss terminal Food : 5/5
Excellent food and drinks A Must visit place. Food
$40.00 for a piece of chocolate ganache cake and overly complicated tequila drink just hurts. Price is tax and tip.
2023 update. Nice new feeling, great service, wonderful presentation, all great except a little chilly, turn off the AC on Oct evening. A few years ago. Stopped in for a quick traditional breakfast and all went as expected, good people watching as well. Parking: $9 2hr underground.
Wow!
There are a dearth of places on the north shore that have excellent food. This place has great Pacific North West fare that is good value, high quality and had a fun community vibe. Ive been here for brunch and dinner and wish there were more options like this for dinner in North or West Vancouver. We had an octopus starter, which was perfectly grilled with tasty accoutrements, and duck breast and short rib entrees. The ganache chocolate cake was out of this world. Kid-friendliness: They had a high chair for us.
Highly recommend coming early as the restaurant gets quite busy. Ordered the salmon bagel and enjoyed the different flavours and the presentation. Also ordered the churros and they were so soft and perfect.
Have the black sesame latte and the kouign amann. Youre welcome. Food : 4/5
Goid seafood served with some imagination, service was top notch.
Showed up over an hour before the posted closing time to be informed that they actually closed an hour before that. Ok I thought, it s still a few minutes before the new closing time but still they wouldn t seat us. Just a suggestion, make sure you post your closing time correctly and honour it. We won t be trying again, but maybe someone else will have a better experience.
Definitely a Gem!!! Churros were absolutely heavenly! Pulled Pork Eggs Benny was so flavourful together with the salad and the potatoes!! Croissants are not to be missed!!! Portions are on the large side and presented in such an awesome arrangement. The Best Brunch Spot!!!
Mind blowing good brunch experience, the food is excellent, everything is made from scratch! The staff is so welcoming, friendly and on top of everything and the atmosphere is really cozy and peaceful. Had the salmon bagel at it was delicious!!!
One of the best brunch spots in North Van. Great menu. Love the service and ambiance.
I had marshmallow hot chocolate, it was great not that much sweet as well. Also, got mushroom bagel as my brunch. The mushrooms were well sauteed and the seasoning was amazing.
Delicious food at a reasonable price, and the restaurant has a good atmosphere. Only negative was a nearly hour-long wait for a table and no reservations on weekends.
Good food and service with fair prices!
Sad to leave a 1 star review for service, most experiences had been good. But today after paying for parking and waiting, had a group who came in after us get seated ahead of us, only to be ignored by our greeter (who said theyd have a table for us if we let him sit the other group first) and then told us to leave. Seems the young man who messed up recognized it but didnt want to own up to it and just wanted us to leave. So we walk out without food, out of pocket on our parking, and no consideration. Other staff checked in to ask if we had been served, and Ive received outstanding service from more than a couple of those staff members. This is in stark contrast to other experiences at this establishment and I hope that this change in behavior isnt a symptom of a developing future pattern.
A friend and I went for brunch. We got two beverages and two dishes. Beverages: Turmeric Chai Latte 1/5 - I could barely taste the turmeric or Chai. It tasted very watered down and bland. Lavender Oat Latte 3/5 - This drink was better, with a good amount of espresso, but I couldnt taste any lavender. Food: Chicken & Waffles 2.5/5 - We saw the reviews and thought this would be a good choice nothing to write home about. The chicken was moist but bland. The batter was crisp, but we did not taste any seasoning. The waffle was chewy, difficult to cut and seemed old. The rosemary maple and honey chipotle butter complemented the chicken/waffles very well. Pulled BBQ Pork Shoulder Benny 3.5/5 - The poached egg was runny and was a perfect boil. The English muffin was nicely toasted and crisp. The hollandaise was a nice touch with a refreshing lemon zing, but the tangy BBQ sauce overpowered everything afterward. Overall, my friend and I left feeling disappointed. I dont think we will be coming back.
Everything was delicious.
A really good restaurant with excellent food service and very comfortable space!
