If you value ethics and morals, this is not a place for you to waste your money. This store called my company asking for emergency service as their machine broke down, we explained that we need to set them up as a customer but they begged and pleaded as it was urgent. So we gave them a chance and came out to fix their machine. Within a few weeks we were called back for more work (after setting up an account) and performed repairs for their machine. After advising them of our rates, and costs they approved us to come perform the work. Now we are chasing them for a $1200 bill because it s more than we were expecting . They had asked for a discount or payment option, to which we offered multiple months to pay us back, but they have gone silent and will avoid all contact from our company. I HIGHLY suggest taking your business elsewhere, as they do not have respect for other small businesses, and based on other reviews have no respect for their customers either.

I recently placed my first order from Echo Cafe through Uber Eats, lured in by a Buy One, Get One Free offer. However, what I thought was a great deal turned out to be quite the opposite. To my surprise, the item I ordered was priced at double the cost listed on the restaurants in-house menu. This sneaky markup made the Buy One, Get One Free offer pointless you end up paying the same amount as you would for two items at the regular price. Its disheartening to see such tactics, especially when youre trying out a place for the first time. The food itself was fine, but the pricing strategy left a bad impression. It feels like the restaurant is more focused on tricking customers rather than providing genuine value. For anyone considering ordering from here, be aware that the Uber Eats prices might not reflect what youd pay if you were dining in. Overall, my first experience with Echo Cafe was disappointing. I expected transparency and a good deal, but instead, I felt misled. I m not sure I ll be ordering from here again.

We visit the place today and ask for some avotoast and in first place there aren t a toast is was just a cold bread whit a really fine layer of avocado almost invisible and one egg, the salad in the side it was good. It was me and my husband and we expend arround $44 for 2 avotoast 1 smoothie and ones ices latte, we didn t enjoy the place, it was to expensive for the quality. Maybe other dishes are better but the avotoast leave a lot to wish. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free treats

Vegan wrap at this place is warm mush coffee is mid ! Wasted my bucks for just throwing it in trash ! Dont have half the menu

I ordered the Avacado toast, it wasnt the best but still decent. Lower your expectations and this could be a good place for quick breakfast.

I came to this cafe based on the review but I was very disappointed: 1. The staff was not welcoming and unprofessional. 2. The avocado toast was very salty 3. The veggie omelette was burnt and extremely oily. 4. The bread was not toasted 5. The male bathroom paper towel dispenser is broken. It is not hygienic to use the paper towel roll I recommend that the staff get constructive feedback and further training to improve customers experience.

The staff is very rude and unprofessional. The food was terrible and overpriced. Due to the staff attitude and body language, I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. In order to run a successful business in a western country, the business owner need to meet minimum standard of customer service.

Read the reviews expecting a great breakfast. 5 of us went. I ordered the English breakfast. Nothing said English. Grape cold tomatoes in a ramekin, not grilled. Beans were not sweet, tasted like a Mexican ranchero bean minus the pork, I didnt eat. Friend tried to eat and said it was not good. All our 1 pc of whole grain toast we got was cold and not toasted. Felt like it may have been popped in a toaster 30 seconds. Only one said her breakfast was good. She ordered the Lonsdale breakfast. Other than her cold untoasted bread, rest was fine. Definitely we will not go back.

The dish was delicious Personnel are welcoming It would be better to clean the floor when the customer is not inside I am sensitive to the detergent smell When I was sitting server came and moped all the restaurant and near our table And no one serves you. You have to take your order from the counter.

Food is fine but nothing notable. Drop coffee was ok too, but again, nothing to marvel over. There were samples of mini croissants and they were also fine, nothing memorable. Staff were a little checked out and on their phone the whole 90 or so minutes I was there. Spacious cafe with a variety of seating options. It s a good place to kill time but I wouldn t go back because I m dying to have their coffee or food.

It was the worst omelet we have ever had with the worst customer service!

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing breakfast experience. The quality of the food did not meet expectations, especially considering the high prices. It appears that the menu prices were recently increased, which was not reflected well in the service or food quality provided. Additionally, I found the service to be lacking; it seemed as though the staff were not well-trained in customer service standards typical in Canada. They were so rude staff. Overall, I believe there are better options available for the price.

Bad experience! The staffs behavior was unacceptable, and the quality of the food was extremely poor. Even after we complained, they made no effort to improve. To make matters worse, the price of the food was way too high for what we received. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different place for breakfast; there are much better options available.

This place is very close to where I live but I am reluctant to go there because the prices are so high for both coffee and food. A large coffee is way over $4! Add a muffin and youre over $10! Yikes... I can go to Whole Foods which is a block away and get the same thing for less than $6

Worst Cafe in the north van area ordered two sandwiches from them as soon as I opened the wrapper I could smell mold anyone with half a brain could tell that the bread was no good. Also ordered two carrot cakes and instead i received two cakes that were cheaper than the cake I ordered seen someone else have a similar issue with the cake switches. Absolutely horrible place will never be ordering from this place again and will tell and my f&f about my experience. If you guys like moldy bread this is the place to be! Hope this place shuts down or gets some capable management/staff.

I ordered 2 pc of Red Velvet and Carrot cake. What I m sure is this is NOT RED VELVET !!! And the carrot one is not really fresh. I want a refund for the RED one, please !!

I got a chai tea latte, but it was really bitter.I dont know why. Maybe he burned the milk or whatever. But it was anything u say but a chai tea latte. That was really disappointed I didnt ask for my money back but honestly waste of 7$. I tried to be supportive of small businesses but at least try to be good. Making a chai tea latte shouldnt be that difficult.

I revisited this place after two years! To be honest, when I visited two years ago, I left disappointed. But this time, it was a completely different experience! The place has changed so much, and the service is now perfect! The staff are super friendly, and the food is to die for! I had the chillate and an apple cinnamon cake, and it was like experiencing heaven on earth for fifteen minutes. I highly recommend this place! I m kind of torn to write this review. Everyone s really nice, pastries are great. Coffee and specialty coffees are mediocre at best. Food is good but the kitchen is clearly not run by a chef that knows commercial kitchens. It really is a shame because there is a lot of potential here but they make mistakes on orders and if you order a side with a dish, it d make sense for them to come out together. Again, it s a shame that staff lack training and leadership because this place has potential. Beautiful cafe, nice staff but service and food miss the mark completely. I hope they take this in the best light possible and improve.

Mediocre food, but you can t complain as it s a coffee shop not a breakfast place. Latte is as bad as it looks, the milk is really bad frothed As for service, the stuff need to ask the supervisor to know how many eggs are there in the English breakfast. On top of that, you need to pick your own food and drink up from the counter like you do in mac Donald, but you are still expected to tip them. Maybe their pastry is good, idk.

I had the most delicious BLT sandwich here, the ingredients were fresh and I loved how they provided hot sauce on the side as I love everything spicy. The atmosphere is super nice and relaxing, perfect to catch up on a book or do some work.

I visited your restaurant today and ordered the English breakfast which costed 25$. I sat at my seat for 30 minutes and still no sign of any breakfast or any of the staff coming to explain the wait so I went to the counter and explained I had been waiting 30 minutes and got the response of oh you still haven t got it, I ll go check then 5 minutes afterwards they called out my breakfast and I picked up from the counter where the staff member laughed then said to me sorry about the wait there s a problem in the kitchen . While I sat back down another customer at a table beside me then cancelled his order and got a refund and left as he realized how long I had been waiting. My breakfast was no where near worth 25$, beans were microwaved and wasn t fully warm. No one approached me after receiving the breakfast to ask me was it ok only when I looked up to the counter a staff member done a gesture and put her thumbs up as if to ask was it ok. Then afterwards I spoke with the manager and explained how I felt about the breakfast etc when all she responded was sorry there was a problem in the kitchen no compensation was offered for the issue. I then asked for this email address to speak with the owner and no more was said to me. I was very disappointed with my service as with any issue I had to approach staff members when they should be the ones approaching me if they are experiencing issues in the kitchen etc. Also there was approximately 6 other customers at this time all of which were coffee orders so not as though it was busy. I Would not recommend here for breakfast or lunch as it most definitely is not worth the money or your time

One of the best breakfast places around. The only place which offer optimal persian breakfast options and foods. I got 3 lattes and almond croissants. The almond croissant actually tasted like almonds and wasn t like those synthetic ones with the smell. This was home made with real almonds. I was not only very happy with my food, but I appreciated the kind and helpful staff that made sure to do everything right. From serving to follow ups and recommendations, everything was great. I would totally recommend this place as it is a top-notch breakfast place with great staff!

This location has a great set of people, they are wonderful and so sweet and always working hard! Furthermore, we order tart, chocolate croissant and tiramisu, they were so delicious & fresh. Also the espresso and hot chocolate was warm and delicious. Overall the environment , service , employees and the food& cakes + drinks are amazing I recommend!

Vegetarian options: The breakfast took a very long time to come. Over half an hour for eggs and toast. when it came, it was cold. Not a place that I would recommend.

Coffee quality is delicious. Peppermint mocha very nicely flavoured. Banana bread croissant was AMAZING, sandwich was good quality (I loved they did NOT warm the lettuce when grilling, they added it back after). Only thing that fell short was their chocolates... the filling is very flavourable, but the chocolate shell tasted like nothing and felt like very subpar quality. Recommend everything except those so far, will be back if in the area again.

Stopped in by chance and was blown away by the incredible food and laid back atmosphere. We had the English breakfast and the echo plate and my goodness... The bacon wrapped chicken, the cheesy potatoes, the salad, the passionfruit jam, the coffee, and everything else was awesome. We will definitely be back.

Crossant was fresh , not super tasty. Hot chocolate tasted like cocoa milk with sugar, I didn t like it. Ambience is okay, super specious, suitable for big gathering. Good choice for people who want to work or study. You can play mafia with bunch of Persian people in this cafe weekends nights. Staff are nice and helpful

Service was friendly and the interior is cute however my chai latte was unsweetened and not very good and the avocado toast I got was very dry and plain and the avocados weren t ripe either.

I was completely disappointed when I ordered several drinks but every coffee and hot beverage I got was nothing like what it should be. I ordered chai latte, what I got was nothing like chai latte and instead they gave me chai masala with vanilla syrup Also, when I ordered a triple shot espresso latte they put vanilla and caramel syrups in it without asking me I was vomiting until the end of the night. It is completely disappointing that the cafe with high quality in the past has now reached this low quality.

Needed breakfast prior of working out. Found this place with unique wall art. Coffee was beautifully done with art, and taste was magnificent. Very peaceful dine in experience. Would definitely return if I am in the area. Fully energized when working out.

Went here for coffee with a friend. The coffee and a peach spritz we got were not good. Maybe the food is great, but we didn t try it. Decor is kinda odd but the vibe is cute. Wouldn t come back for coffee but I m intrigued by the food. The peach spritz didn t really taste like peach, it was mostly iced water with a slight orange color. My coffee (peppermint mocha) was too watery, didn t taste much like coffee or mint or chocolate.

Update: They have kindly offered coffee, and I cant wait to visit again soon! I used to frequent this place often, and I have always enjoyed their hospitality. During my last visit, I was momentarily disappointed as the potatoes and soup were served slightly chilled. However, I must say that the staff demonstrated exceptional customer service by promptly addressing my concerns. They were so attentive and considerate, quickly heating up the soup and presenting a fresh plate of delicious potatoes. To top it off, they graciously offered a coffee refill, ensuring that my dining experience ended on a high note. I truly value the staffs responsiveness and dedication to ensuring their customers satisfaction. Its evident that they genuinely care about their customers enjoyment. I have no doubt that my next visit will be nothing short of wonderful. I highly commend them for their efforts and look forward to savoring their delectable dishes and experiencing their warm hospitality once again!

1st time here and I was amazed by the quality, portion and presentation of the Brunch Menu. Iced oat latte was perfect too! There was no music or anything playing at all and that was kind of odd Cannot say much about service as you order over the counter and from there is pretty much self-serve Pastries looked so pretty!!! Will definitely come back :)

First time here and Im blown away! Incredible selection of baked goods. I got the strawberry shortcake (wish I could have bought everything). The quiche and coffees were amazing too! Cant wait to come back and try their meals... they looked delicious coming out! Staff were super friendly and lovely. Great atmosphere as well. Will definitely be my new go-spot!

Quality of Persian breakfast was really bad. Lentils in the soup we re not cooked and the Barbary bread was stale and from days a go. And very poor customer service. Do not recommend this place.

I loved Echo Cafe! The place looks cool and feels welcoming. We wetried the Persian omelette and avocado toast, both were amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely a great spot to eat, chill, and work! Highly recommend!

The almond croissant was perfect with a sweet center. Id highly recommend it as a delightful pastry crafted to perfection. The outer layer was golden-brown and crisp, with a delicate flakiness which shattered with each bite. Inside, a luscious, sweet almond filling oozed with a smooth, creamy texture, generously spread throughout the croissant, infusing every layer with a sweet and nutty aroma. The almond flavor is both delicate and pronounced, balanced beautifully with a hint of vanilla and a touch of powdered sugar that glistened on top. I also tried the almond apricot tart. The flavors were balanced and delightful but there was a slightly unpleasant egg scent which was a bit offputting. However, Im not a huge fan of tarts in general and Im extra sensitive to such aromas. Im super excited to go back as soon as I get another chance!

My girlfriend and I decided this is our favorite coffee shop. The food and coffee were so good and the place is so nice. The only thing is that there s no place to plug in my laptop and have a really nice time doing work and having a coffee.

The new owners have made my favourite local cafe even better! The baked goods, sandwiches, and breakfasts are all fab, and they make the second-best tea on the North Shore (I make the best tea).

I didn t like their poor hospital service. I wanted to order something that I had not tried before. Bartender realized that this is my first time ordering Italiano! But they even didn t bother themselves to describe it. Also, as a coffee shop there were bright lights. It did not feel cozy for me.

Picked up a Too Good To Go bag from Echo (6 items for $4.99 plus tax). We found it unusual to be charged taxes at 12%, while most food establishments only charge 5% GST (or even no GST if you receive 6 or more items). Anyways, we received good value with 2 mini loaves, 2 peanut butter power balls, and 2 cookies. The power balls were as expected - dense, but tasty with a defined peanut butter flavour throughout. The cookies were average. The cake was rather dry, but nothing a quick spin in the microwave cant fix! Echo has lots of lunch and dessert options, including some vegan items. Location is close to Lions Gate Hospital with a spacious interior.

NEW REVIEW (2023): Updates: It s only fair to tell the truth, Since the last review I have return to the Cafe multiple times and tried multiple items on their menu to give a fair update. The place: is lively , great decor , wonderful colours and ambiance, good music and a cozy atmosphere. The food : the food is immaculate( amazing) , many varieties and of course the chicken panini is even better than before, and menu is updated The drinks: are quality drinks and made professionally! and the service nothing short of excellent Ultimately very happy to have become a regular customer again. The owner and staff are truly gems and love to help you out with a small and a warm welcome . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OLD REVIEW(2022)Echo cafe has been my go to place for more than a year , everyday whether for food or coffee , and awesome staff , I work near by so I would do all out food and coffee. Today I visited the place after the new management , new owners , and staff came. Unfortunately - The place was no longer homie all the decorations were gone felt sad and gloomy(#modernized) - the Menus are kept the same but they food and sandwiches are no longer ready in fridge they have to be made Thy require 15 MINUTES to make a sandwich my everyday order is a ( pesto chicken panini) The chef came out looking at the menus to see what items are in the sandwich :S After a while of seating at a (((un-cleansed ) table and having paid $13.70 I was presented this , I was disappointed and disgusted, if I wanted nuggets i would have gone to Mac Donald it was almost insulting. Un-melted cheese with lettuce ? It was anything but a panini. As I spoke with the staff she was lovely to listen to me and my concern and she refunded me $13 and asked how they can improve. From no on I don t think echo cafe would be a place I go , unless they bring knowledge cooks and change the menu to food they are great at providing, buying a business just for the sake of having it is not good , you should have a passion and a vision and know how to run a cafe shop.

I ordered a few sandwiches and some treats for a small group meeting. Everyone loved them and I would definitely order from Echo again. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I love this cafe!

Was there in the morning last week. Place has a lot of character. Even the cup and saucer used to serve coffee was a thoughtful work of art. Coffees quality was 5 out of 5. Premise, including the washroom, was kept clean. COVID precautions in effect with the server asking for my vaccination card. Will definitely visit the place again.

This cafe is lovely. Food is good, service friendly and their muffins are so yummy. Excellent location between Lonsdale Ave and Lions Gate Hospital. Perfect for when you need a break from the hospital. This meal is their Vegan Avocado Toast. Who knew you could put hummus AND avocado on toast together?! Lost a star because the metal chairs are uncomfortable for plus size bottoms.

I was here 6 days ago and had a great Capilano breakfast. The potatoes were very go and the food was hot. Today the potatoes tasted like they were in the freezer too long were cold and under cooked. The replacement potatoes were warmer but still had a stale flavour. The bacon was not warm and the eggs were over cooked. I know it s hard to do medium eggs. The coffee was awesome. Love the sugar free syrups here.

Service was friendly. Decor clean and spacious, lots of plants. Bathroom was lovely and clean:). But, my Cortado was a bit cool and served in a large mug, not the expected and traditional glass. And my partners lavender London fog was exceptionally unexceptional in flavour. Our sandwiches also were lacking in flavor. We both were extremely hungry, so it wasnt lack of appetite dampening our taste buds, though, probably the price point of over fifty bucks played a role.

Awesome cafe with some great food and coffee. Came and spent a bit over an hour just enjoying the space. It was busy enough that there was a steady stream of people coming through but quiet enough that we could still relax. I recommend their breakfasts!

Food was meh, prices were up there though. Had to watch a couple social media nitwits photograph the snack they ordered for 25 minutes with paparazzi cameras. Cortado served in mug, pannini bland and premade , soup uninspired. 50 bucks....

Nice surprise Coffee was good. Didn t try any food but it looks good. Steady stream of customers walking in for coffee. Big thanks to the english accent barista for the info on Cortado and Piccole lattes. That s why I gave this place 5 stars. I don t give 5 stars unless it goes above expectations.

We ordered the classic brunch, was neither fresh nor tasty.

Stopped in today for a quick coffee and snack for my boy. Ordered an almond decaf latte but got an instant decaf coffee with a tiny splash of oat milk that I had to ask to top up. Instant coffee nothing brewed or no drip coffee, instant The indoor seating was closed which I found odd, as if they closed it due to covid protocols even though we have lifted covid restrictions now. There were 2 employees behind the counter; one cashier and a barista. Very scarce selection of cookies and looked very stale, quite positive the cookies and pastries have been sitting there for days and the Costco-like croissants and pastries. My son couldn t eat the cookie, it was hard as a rock! Completely waste of $8

Good coffee, pastries looked great. Had vegan options. Wouldnt put the meal above a dedicated breakfast joint but I enjoyed my meal.

It s a nice cafe with accessible parking. The brunch is very overpriced. I got the Deep Cove bowl and it s pretty much some store-bought spring mix, 3 cherry tomatoes, some hash browns and an egg for $16. It tastes very mediocre and quite overpriced.

So sad. Prices have gone up and quality of food down. I usually go 3 times a week and it is becoming a hit and miss. Sloppy sandwiches and soup (especially chicken) is disgusting.

The new management disappointed us today! It was one of the best cafes. Today we got chocolate milk instead of Belgian hot chocolate, the muffin was not the one we asked, and the service was so poor!!!

Love the ambiance and service was okay. But how are the reviews so high? I did want to like this cafe because its a simple menu with good coffee too. But the problem was the food. and also our order was wrong. asked for a iced matcha but got hot instead. the chicken in the panini was actually still raw in the middle. i was only able to eat around the sides of the sandwich. It also took forever to make. Maybe this problem was just today, but the service was not bad. everyone was pretty friendly

will go again. I ordered a Caramel Latte and it was amazing. Recommend this pace for coffee lovers. Thanks for the warm customer service.

This place used to be very good before it recently changed something. i didnt get everything what it mentioned is included in brunch. Asked about that and person working there was trying to give different excuses, we changed it. Why do you still have it written in menu at the wall? Definitely not eating here anymore..

What happened here? The old Echo was amazing, seems like new ownership.

Food and drink werent good at all. Panini should be 4 bucks for that low quality. I would rather go to Tim Hortons. This place used to be so good, but now I can feel the new owner doesnt care anymore.

Has changed hands. Fried potatoes are now a greasy little patty, no longer have poached eggs option (didnt even know what it was), offered over-easy which I accepted and the eggs came out sunny side up and very undercooked. Avocado was fresh. I will no longer recommend this location.

Great environment with delicious foods.

Order breakfast, but the hashbrowns and sausage were cold. Danish was really good but took 5 minutes to get. Wasn t overally busy when we visited so not sure why the quality of food was so poor.

This morning I had the north shore avocado toast with arugula salad, bacon, egg, a delicious home made soup and a strawberry banana smoothie. It was fantastic. Awesome staff and very tasty food. 5/5

Very nice place. Modern and cozy at the same time. Good coffee and made to order sandwiches. And it s never to crowded. Love it.

This is my second time visiting echo cafe. First time i visited with my 3 yr old and the owner was kind enough to provide a cookie on the house. I ordered avocado sandwich. It was freshly made. The salad dressing was sooo good..Even my second visit did not disappoint me. The place is clean and the ambiance was great. The price was not too high. I would recommend echo cafe to my friends and family.

Stopped at Echo Cafe in the Lonsdale area to try a different local spot! Owner was very friendly, and even took the time to prepare our breakfast even though the kitchen had closed. Service is black and white, and hospitality is where the colour is. He definitely made us feel welcomed, VIP and the food was fresh and delicious! Would stop in again.

I had a really great experience with Echo cafe, really delicious food and really good service. Vegetarian options: They had vegetarian options like avocado toast. It was really delicious.
