1660 Pemberton Ave, North Vancouver, BC V7P 3M1, Canada
Took two kids on all you can eat. Friendly and family style environment. Just as advertised, best fish and chips in town.
My go-to for the best fish and chips! Staff: friendly, always prompt to take your order. Staff must like working here, because I usually see the same people. Food: absolutely delicious! I love that the batter is light and not too thick, so you’re able to enjoy the flavor of the seafood and not loads of greasy batter. Coleslaw is good and always fresh. Fries are always piping hot and tasty, but not amazing. In my opinion, must-haves are the onion rings and prawns. They have the best house made tartar sauce, it’s no wonder they leave a full bottle at your table! I love to come with a friend and share the Dinner Platter for 2, it’s reasonably priced considering the amount of food, and it’s the perfect variety of C-Lovers best items (prawns, onion rings, halibut). Atmosphere: always very clean. This place may not be fancy, but who cares? The food is fantastic, and that’s what matters! Tips: it can be very busy Friday and Saturday nights, so be prepared. If you go one of those nights, try to arrive before 5:30pm. Thanks for staying consistent C-Lovers on Pemberton, you’re the best!
It is a great place to have some deep-fried meals. Personally, I prefer the fish and chips over the C-Lover Platter, but the food is tasty overall.
Service was great and food was very delicious. Ordered the Salmon and Cod fillet. Salmon was good but we both preferred the Cod more!
Trusty CLovers. Always good and service is great too. Not too fancy but very delicious. The smaller appetite size was perfect with some rings!
Perfect dining experience. THE best fish and chips I've tried in North America. Every single thing on the plate was just perfect. The service was great, too, and the atmosphere was somewhat nostalgic which I loved.
I visited North Vancouver District the first time just to try the food here. Honestly, they are best fish and chips I've ever had—better others I've had in Greater Vancouver! The in-house tartar sauce was sooo delicious as well (can squeeze out as much as I want); it had a fresh, tarty dill taste. The onion rings and oyster were good. And the tomato juice was tasty and refreshing. The mushy peas, however, were not my cup of tea (it, to me, is like a coarse base puree that's just salted). It was quite the satiating lunch; perfect for going to a hike trail afterward. Moreover, I did not need to eat dinner. As for the service, it's excellent. I liked the waitress' personality; she's chill and accommodating.
Lots of free parking right outside. Fair bit of seating inside while still maintaining social distancing. Ordered the all you can eat. Which is just fish and chips with bottomless pop. No coleslaw. Each plate had 5 pieces of fish (small to medium size). I was able to finish 2 plates. The kitchen is visible and relatively clean, the wait staff were quick and attentive. Note you are not getting cod or halibut with the all you can eat. Overall, I would eat here again.
The combo shrimp, onion rings and halibut were excellent except the fish was dry not moist and flaky like usual I suspect the fish was not halibut at all. The clam chowder was terrible. No clams but some sort of fish and a grey soupy licquid
Not bad food. Service was good. Little busy at lunch.
Very delicious and entertaining
Great service, great food, reasonable prices
Everything is very simple here. Good food, fairly priced and big portion. Thanks Jyden for the warm hospitality.
Always delicious right in my neighbourhood
I called them ahead of ordering to find out what kind of oil they use for frying. No unhealthy seed oils. The food was great and served very quickly.
Food was good. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Kitchen staff? Hummmm wish they were facing the wall rather than the dining room as both of them had not-so-happy-faces. The garbage bin outside was too stinky. Parking: Park as far from the garbage bin as possible.
Always the best.
Super great experience here when staying in North Vancouver. The cod was very tasty for my first time ever having fish and chips. Everyone eating in was having a great time and the staff were exceptionally friendly and nice, thanks!
Delicious! Fresh sea foods and cozy location. I can t say poor but very normal services.
I wish there was a location near Lonsdale or Deep Cove we re fish and chip deprived over here!
The best fish and chips
Good place
Only ever had take away but it s good quality. Chips are a smaller portions. Food
Always tasty!
Great fresh fish
Excellent fresh seafood. Not greasy or mushy. Fries are also excellent
Love eating here. Great fish menu. Despite being so busy because of Easter, the staff were super attentive and the food delicious as always. Wheelchair accessibility: We had a family member using a walking stick, and she was able to move around comfortably.
Peaceful dining atmosphere, good food
Food was good service was excellent
Very good fish and chips place. Fish fried well and not too crusty. Service was excellent and friendly by Kim.
Everything was good shout-out to Beth , Andrea, Iiona,
Very good Fish and Chips, friendly service.
Well seasoned prepped delicious fish dishes..! Parking: Top shelf => Easy peasey - drive in and back up..! Kid-friendliness: Welcoming atmosphere, well groomed friendly staff and one of the professional customer services in the hospitality sector. Wheelchair accessibility: Less traffic and paved location
Great place to have fish and chips period.
Not too expensive, good fish and good chips. Great place for inexpensive fish etc. Onion rings were great Parking: Lot of parking in lot near
Everything I wanted out of a fish-n-chips shop, world class, wouldnt change a thing
Plenty of seats when you come at opening time. It will get busy so lunch time. Can be quite a wait when they are busy, but thats a sign of a good restaurant with good quality food. When you order an All You Can Eat meal, make sure you put in your refill a bit earlier as it can take a while before you get it. Parking: Unfortunately a couple of businesses closed down in this area, but as a result, more parking spots are available!
i had better fish and chips else wheres but still fine Food
Good food got in before the rush did the all-you-can-eat was great gonna do the Haddock next time. Just to compare to the last chippy Is there a record for all-you-can-eat? Another brit style chippy with no curry sauce, so sad. Does have mushy peas which are not my kind of thing. Need bigger buns and sell chip butties make a good lunch snack
All you can eat is a good deal. Quick service. Simple but does the job
The halibut was very good nice little place will definitely go back.
Always the best fish and chips! On top of that the Cole slaw is amazing, and the family packs for take out are incredible value!
I thought the paper and no playes thing was cool, like skip the dishes. Food was delightful to the pallette.
Cozy, old fashion vibe with superb sea food! Highly recommended! Food
We were recommended this by a friend and really loved the fish and chips!
Bland taste and the amount for the giant platter was very minimal.
Wife and I went there yesterday tried all you can eat pollock and chip with drink included you gotta love this place cheap and good could not go beyond the 6 pieces given to me, but I was tempted. Waitress waited on us superbly. Will be going back soon
Food is on par with any good fish and chips place. The location could use a little updating and cleaning as the table and chairs were dirty, but overall it was a great place to stop for a quick meal at lunch.
Great food and super service! Love it! Edit: exactly 1 year to the day we are back and glad to report that nothing has changed. Still awesome. Food : 5/5
Good spot for fish and chips, they have a good special for all you can eat as well. Service is friendly, and prices are good.
Regularly order takeout from this location. Great food and service every visit. The food is cooked fresh to order.
You know I like to comment on bathrooms...this was horrible...skirt past products stored on a shelf to a dirty door and find a bigger than expected space. Sure, there were stalls inside plus soap and paper, but, really, this bathroom was borderline gas station. The food was good, the service was fine. If you are looking for standard fish n chips, this is it. Btw, 2 of us shared a 2-pc and fries because it is a big portion. Wheelchair accessibility: First floor so easy in. The bathroom had a stall for those in a wheelchair but I doubt you could fit down the hall leading to it.
Always get the Halibut and chips. Batter is nice and light. Not to greasy.
People that cool doesnt wear gloves; touch their faces, hair etc and then touch the food.
Great place for a satisfying fish and chips meal, our go to place for a child friendly restaurant
Great fish and chips for the price!
Inside can use a little spousing up but clean and food was exceptional.
Restaurant was totally empty- so I sat in a booth only to be told I need to move into squished centre tables . I said I would rather take a booth- as the restaurant was totally empty. They insisted I sit in centre table - so I walked out. Use the Ferries a lot but we will not be going back there again- the pub down the road was a great experience
Great food and price
Always order takeout bulk, which is awesome for 4 people!!
Decent fish and seafood for a decent price.
Server was very attentive and friendly. Took care of us as soon as we needed refills on our drinks or more fish. Thank you!
A great quick service, clean, one of the best in Greater Vancouver Area for those fish lovers, eat as much as you can meal also comes with unlimited refill for Pepsi products, coleslaw is great, onion rings and sauces. Enjoy the fresh fish & chips!
Amazing place with an all you can eat fish and chips option. It is very good quality for the quantity as well, and the servers were always smiling. Nothing much more can be asked of a place. Do make sure to go here with a big appetite, I am sure you will enjoy the fish!
Good family restaurant. Food was really good. The server was a bit flustered, as I think she was new. She did well though.
Affordable prices. Fried fish dishes including halibut, hallibut, and fresh cod. Breaded oysters and shrimp. Best fish and chips in the region.
The halibut burger is the best fish burger Ive ever had! The house made tartar sauce is unbeatable. I made a pickup order and they waited until I got there to give me a piece of fish fresh out of the fryer . One of my favourite spots in the city.
Family orantated business. Great peopler
Good food.
Best English fish n chips!
A good portion of warm fries and a couple pieces of Cod made my day. Another factor that impressed me was the ambience of windows all around an an attentive server. Service was fast too.
I love the deep fried dill pickles! and also the platter was so good
Reliable choice for great fish and chips. All you can eat is good value but at the expense of eating their premium fish which is worth spending a little more for. Great place for kids however.
Great fish and chips!
Great price good food
Food was fantastic great prices too. Service was good but could be a little bit friendlier
Great food Reasonable price Food
Consistently great takeout. Big portions, reasonable prices, quick service. Great tartar sauce. The premium fish options are worth it and the oysters are the best.
Nice place no smells good food
Normally very good, sometimes you get the odd overcooked chips.
As a Brit we can confirm this is the closest thing you can get to british fish and chips in the lower Mainland. Love this place, get a bread roll with you meal so you can make a fish butty. Also the chicken is fab too.
Waitress wasnt the greatest and its was super crowded but still one of my fams fav restaurants for all you can eat fish and chips!!
Loved the Cod fish and chips here!!!!!!! Best place in Vancouver but in north van lol
Haven t been here in years and now I know why. The food was terrible and overpriced. All you can eat pollock?!? Whatever happened to actual cod or halibut? I ordered the salmon burger because I m not terribly big on filling up on copious amounts of gut clogging batter. What I got was a batter burger; a thin wafer of salmon covered in greasy batter on a plain bun slathered in mayo and a handful of coleslaw. I didn t get the side of fries I ordered either. After tasting my partners cold tasteless fries, I m grateful I didn t get mine. Service was quick but as bland as the food. C- lovers gets an F and it s for Fail not fresh fish.
Our go-to fish n chips on the north shore. Lovely fish, fries and Caesar salad.
Awesome thanks
Delicious fish and chips ( halibut) nice atmosphere. friendly guys.
One of the best fish and chips in Vancouver
The young lady who served us was delightful. A really good deal clean is required though as there was a definite musty smell to the place. Food
It was the first and last time. I never go back there, the taste of fish was good but the oil that fish and potatoes has been fried had bad smell and they did not change it for a long time. We throw it the trash bin.
Two bad experiences at this location, one was a hair in my fries, I dont know when kitchen staff stopped having to wear hair nets when cooking. Second was ants all over the counter when I went up to ask for sugar. Will continue to visit other locations not this one. Food
Tried to order two meals she put two pieces n fries. Trying to feed two ppl wish she got order right
Went on May 18. I looked at the menu and the beer of choice was priced at $6.50. I questioned this with the waitress and she told me she would check with management. She came back and said the menu was correct. I told here the beer was $6.99 a few weeks ago. anyway ordered dinner and beer. At the checkout I notice the beer was priced at $6.99. Again questioned this. The manager/owner?? came overland asked me if there was a problem. I repeated the forementioned conversation. At this point the waitress basically denied our earlier conversation and he to me the beer was $6.99. I said then there is an old menu in circulation. He basically called me a liar told me to pay the bill and leave. Maybe not in those words but in attitude. The waitress just kept quiet through the exchange. I have taken his advice and paid the bill and to noreturn after supporting therefor over 20 years.
Great little place
I like to come here sometimes after hiking very hungry and tired. The All-you-can-it fish and chips + a sleeve of a delicious Okanagan Spring beer, is a really good deal. The delicious food, the great service, the cleaning and the nice environment make this place a fresh spot to stay. Thank you!
Fast service, good quantity, great taste
The portions havent gotten smaller since the economic downturn, but its still a decent meal.
Good fish. Fries good as well but slightly undercooked for my liking. Solid choice.
As advertised - had the all you can eat fish & chips. Fresh from the fryer to the table. Service was courteous and quick. Refills on the drinks were timely, and we went two extra rounds of fish. Overall very satisfying and not too pricey. Parking: No issues.
A very pleasant suprise! The batter on the fish was so light and flaky. Its one of the best fish and chip places Ive ever been to.
A nice fish and chip shoppe with an all you can eat and pop option Kid-friendliness: Discounted kid s meals by age Food : 4/5 |
Great fish and chips!
Like the ambiance. But food is expensive. It s just fish and chips. 2 pc cod cost 30 bucks.
Fast great fish. Best fish and chips in town
Great seafood and the staff are very friendly and take good care of you.
Fish and chips was good. Service good. Restaurant is lacking atmosphere.
All you can est is a lot, just choose 3-4 strips of fish and thats all.
Fish was great. Chips undercooked.
THIS IS LITTERALY THE BEST RESTERANT IN THE UNIVERSE. ALL OTHER RESTURANTS CAN EAT -- as a local guide, it would be irisponsible for me to finish this sentance :) -- I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THOUGH EVERY YEAR I COME HERE AND I GET MY BIG MAGICAL MEAL. I CAN LITTERALY NOT EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE FOR THIS PLACES EXISTANCE. MY GRANDMA WENT HERE, MY MUM WENT HERE, MY DAD WENT HERE, C-LOVERS MAKES THE FINEST FISH AND CHIPS IN THE GALAXY. GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH SDZAKSDZAWK,SDKHJ,DSZKHJZSDJKDJHKMZDXSCJHMKXDCJMHKZXCDSJMHKCJKMHMH
One of the best i ve ever tried!!
We placed a largish take out order, and they made everything ontime and hot and fresh. Everyone was very happy! Parking: Lots of free parking.
Good value, quick service
Love this place..I always get all you can eat...I have been going to this place for years now..best seafood on the northshore
$20 all you can eat fish and chips! The only way to go! The pieces of fish are similar in size to chicken fingers, so not huge. Not sure it would be worth it to get the one piece meal for $16 or $17, but with the all you can eat, its a no brainer. Also comes with bottomed bottomless soda if thats your thing.
Delicious.....
Finally tried the all-you-can-eat. Serious error. All batter no fish and rather flavourless. Didn t order anymore and picked out the slicers of fish from the oily batter. Chips also mediocre. Coleslaw was extra and not bad. Can t be bothered to be back. If you like fish go elsewhere where quantity doesn t rule over quality. I m just not clear why this is popular. Service was good.
The fish and chips were soggy and mediocre You can really taste the oil (usually a sign of the deep fryer not being hot enough) The coleslaw was way over dressed The clam chowder was another dissapointment, it was not creamy at all and was a thin clear consistency Deep fried pickles and onion rings were great though Not much service, definitely not what I thought it was going to be like with so many locations featured on their website.
Amazing fish!
Excellent food, cute little place but the service should be more friendly in the dining area. Parking: Good
Great
Flat uncarbonated pop. Old oil used to fry the chips and fish. Used to be my favourite place for fish and chips. Won t be back.
Always love to come here. The all you can eat is great mad they always make it fresh. It is very basic yet very tasty. Recommended dishes All-You-Can-Eat Fish and Chips
Excellent, I recommend it.
Cheerful, hard-working folks, Fish is prepared, perfectly fresh change of cooking oil, pleasant waitresses
I liked the cuisine, the service, and the ambiance. I like professionalism and customer care standards, which should remain to the top. Another visit is required here!
Not elaborate but well run. Good F&C at (still) reasonable prices. Excellent, friendly & helpful service.
I had the all you can eat fish and chips. It was all around good; although, some pieces of fish were sub par In comparison to others. The environment within the restaurant is quite calm & relaxed. Parking: There is lots of parking located directly beside the restaurant.
Always a pleasant experience at this location
Best Fish and Chips in Town! They have all you can eat and have great value all round. Parking: Free parking lot right out front. Kid-friendliness: This is a family friendly restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: it is on the main floor so it is wheelchair accessible.
Chairs Smell of Pee they need cleaning
Fish and chips are excellent and so is the seafood chowder.
Delicious old school fish and chip spot. Ample parking. Service could be more attentive.
C-Lovers, a trusted and friendly place for great fish and chips. Bottomless soft drinks as well with your All-you-can eat. Got to try it! I definitely recommend Food
This is the first time I have been to this location and the food and service were both excellent I highly recommend this C-lovers location!
Friendly welcoming and serving throughout the meal and most importantly the food was delicious! It was packed around 6-7pm on a weekend night. Will have more visits in the future!
Went to C-lovers for their all you can eat fish and chips special and it was really good! The fish they use is polluck and the peices of fish are quite meaty and the batter wasnt too overpowering. I like that they start you off with 5 pieces of fish and a half plate of fries versus other places that basically give a full plate and two pieces. The servers were also super nice and very friendly which made the experience even better!
Friendly service. Quick turnaround. Parking available right outside. Really good fried cod - lots of fish, not too much batter. Crisp. Moist. Average coleslaw. The fries, however, always taste stale from the moment they come out of the fryer! No idea why. My least fave fries. Parking: In shopping centre lot. Available right outside the restaurant.
Love their food and service.
....frendly and Goodyear...
Great halibut and chips...lots and lots of
The fish and chips were really good, but I think the customer service is outstanding! Props to our server Jayden for being so attentive and considerate. We had ordered all you can eat and bottomless drinks. Whenever our drink is almost finished, she appears out of nowhere with a new one ready! The atmosphere had all smiles too! It is the little things
One of the best, always great.
Good service, great food.
Very friendly and considerate staff reasonable prices great food
Always feel taken care of whenever I visit.
When I ask you where is the best fish n chips, youre only answer should be C-Lovers!
Food was fantastic. Our waitress and other staff were super friendly. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely come back!
Great fish and chips as always. Also, great all you can eat fish and chips.
Very nice place for fish and chips at reasonable prices. I always get the all you can eat special and generally have quick and friendly service from their server Shou.
Parking: Lots of spots to park available
Great fish and chip at a reasonable price
If you are hungry for good fish or seafood, this is the place. No frills, just good food and plenty of it. Wheelchair accessibility: Really close quarters inside so a wheelchair might be difficult.
Good F & C. Great service.
Good food good place good service
The ladies that helped us were very friendly
Go to place for fresh/hot fish and chips
Best fish and chips in town!
Excellent batter never greasy
Had a lovely meal here on a Friday night. Mushy peas and coleslaw were excellent!
Good food but the inside of restaurant needs a upgrade, service was good
Best fish and chips you can find Northshore. Very fresh fish and great service. can be very busy at lunch time.
The halibut family size fish and chips were delicious and well worth the cost. The staff were very friendly too
