5 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, BC V7M 2E4, Canada
Family-run destination showcasing Greek cuisine & cocktails in bright, homey surroundings.
Loved my food, time and the fun belly dancer they had for entertainment. The servers were cheerful, helpful and on point. Good People and great food. We had the perfect night. Thanks guys! 🙏
Lunch visit. Just next to Londsdale Quay, this long time family run restaurant still serves up a hearty and healthy lunch. (Attached pictures are of lunch portions. Souvlaki lunch and Calamari lunch) The service was very friendly and very informed on food allergy options. Good food, cooked fresh. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Anatoli Souvlaki is the perfect hidden gem. The warm, inviting atmosphere and soft music provides the perfect environment for a charming date night. The service was incredible (Sam) with well dressed and mannered staff, prompt service and tasty drinks. The food was perfectly prepared, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. We were not expecting this level of professionalism but were certainly pleasantly surprised. Anytime we're back in North Van we'll be sure to make a visit back at Anatoli.
Great value for their happy hour menu! Lovely Greek spot in North Van serving great souvlaki and keftedes! 100% will return!
You could never expect to have this food experience if you walked past this restaurant. We’ve been living in the neighbourhood for years but never tried the food. I’m blown away by how different and delicious Greek food is! I believe what we ordered is one of their traditional cuisines. High quality, fresh ingredients and experience 👍🏻
Fantastic service! Fantastic food! My fiancé and I don't get a chance to go on dates very often, so when we do, it's nice when it feels special. We had the restaurant to ourselves when we first arrived for happy hour on a Monday afternoon, but it filled up with customers by the time we were done. The food was delicious and flavourful. We love Greek food and this really was extra yum! The calamari was perfectly crispy and fresh. The lamb kabab was killer, so much flavour. And can't beat that saganaki. Spiery is an amazing server. Nice guy, very attentive and funny. Made our date very memorable! We will be back for sure. :-)
**Update: Rating Changed from 2 to 5 stars** After leaving a negative review (bottom) due to a bad dining experience, Anatoli's manager (Georgia) immediately reached out. She gave me a call, listened to my experience, relayed what she had learned after speaking to staff, apologized sincerely for our experience, and invited my friends and I back for a chance to make things right. We returned to Anatoli's last night and everything was 10/10. The service was outstanding the food was wonderful—a complete 180 from our previous dining experience. Our server Tim was very attentive, friendly, and ensured we all had a good time. We tried multiple dishes with everything tasting superb! (I wish we had taken more photos but we started eating as soon as the food arrived!) Our highlights were definitely the watermelon salad and the grilled humboldt squid. I understand mistakes can happen at restaurants and I believe a big indicator on a business' professionalism is how they try to make things right with the customer. Georgia and her team went above and beyond to give us a true taste of what dinner at Anatoli's is like. We will definitely be coming back! *** After reading so many positive reviews and having this restaurant strongly recommended by close friends, I was so surprised to have experienced such awful service. Off the top, I want to say our issue was not with our server (who was great!) but with the kitchen. Our group of five waited 45 minutes for our mains (no appetizers were ordered) and one of our guests received her meal 10 minutes after everyone else's. The big issue though was that all of our food (rice, meat, and potatoes) were cold. When I brought this to the server's attention, she apologized, spoke to the kitchen and then shockingly returned to tell me that "they don't believe me." She said the kitchen staff had said plates can get cold while people wait to eat, so the plate was probably cold but not the food. I was stunned at this response as I wasn't trying to send my food back, just have it warmed up. I had tasted everything on my plate before speaking to the waitress and even asked guests at our table to confirm it was cold. The server was noticeably embarrassed and offered to take my plate back to be warmed up. After about five minutes the plate returned and the meat and rice were the exact same cold temperature and the potatoes had, at best, increased from cold to mildly warm. At this point, we were well over an hour into our dinner, my friends had been eating for 15 minutes, so I told the server the food was still cold but that I didn't want to wait any longer. She apologized profusely, said she would speak to the manager and when she returned she said they had offered to give us each a dessert. I felt it would have been more professional if the manager had come over to speak to our table personally but I appreciated the gesture. And it was not just our table experiencing issues with the kitchen. A table of eight directly beside us made multiple complaints about how long their food was taking and then had their mains arrive 10-15 minutes apart. The restaurant is gorgeous and our server was very professional but when you're charging $30 for a main, making guests wait 45 minutes, serving cold food, and then having your chefs openly dispute your claim that the food is cold and argue with their own staff, it leaves customers with a tremendously negative experience.
Anatoli Souvlaki is a Greek spot that’s pretty upscale. The place was packed when we went—definitely book ahead. We ordered Hummus, Vegan Calamari, Vegan Souvlaki Dinner, and Baklawa. The Vegan Calamari was a standout—it’s a must-try. The dips were also really good. It’s on the pricey side, but the food is worth it. The vibe is nice too. The only downside was waiting a bit despite having a reservation. Overall, a solid choice for a special night out.
We went there for a group dinner of 21, and I was very impressed with the service, and food. Delicious! Great location to host a party. We will be back!
Had our Xmas party at Anatoli Slouvlaki last night. The staff really took great care of us and the food and atmosphere were amazing! Big thanks to everyone!!!
Delicious food and great service!
Amazing food and service. One of my favorite restaurants on the North Shore!
Ordered food for a work function from Anatoli Souvlaki. Best experience, great service, and delicious food. Wonderful management! Thank you!
That lamb shank is one of the best Ive had.
Great place to be!!! Amazing food and great service!!! Food
I got the soulvaki dinner and it was great! A bit on the pricey side but worth it. I do miss your halloumi dishes...hope you guys bring it back again!
We showed up on a Saturday night without reservations, as our primary choice was unexpectedly closed, and were very happily surprised. Solid portions of classic greek specialties, but its all about the flavours - everything we had came together - highlights were the country lamb, spanakopita, lamb meatballs, and the lentil salad, all excellent.
Have been here several times with friends and family, as well as twice now for my year-end work holiday parties. The food is always exceptional and the wait staff are very attentive, especially considering when we have had 50+ people in our party. This is a great spot in the summer with their patio, but even in the winter you can stop by for a nice meal after visiting the Shipyards. If you re looking for Greek on the North Shore would 100% recommend go to Anatoli s
LOVE this place!! Food is always great, people are super nice and accommodating, and such a great vibe!!
Service was awful he brought and extra plate that we didn t order we asked for a second glass of wine that never came then he gave us the wrong bill and to top it off he threw the receipt to the table
Really nice evening:) everything was amazing
To have such a rich history and be this consistent is pretty cool. Had lunch and the four of us had 4 variations of the souvlaki it they were all on point. Not the first time I ve been to this location and those instances didn t disappoint either. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Thank you and hope you guys continue to thrive.
food was amazing highly recommend
UPDATE: I appreciate the honest reply. I apologize that pictures can be misleading so i reposted the pic of just the protein instead. Yes, the packaging for take out was presentable. I wanted to focus on the skewered proteins as my friends and i were disappointed on how dry and little it looked. $60 was not justified for that meal. However, I do recommend dining in rather than take out. _____________ Uber eats grill combo $60 and lamb shank $34. I think the Grill combo does not justify the $60 cost for 4 skewers of tiny pieces of dried up proteins. The pieces are spread out to make it look a large portions on the skewers. Lamb shank was a small but u can fill yourself up with the salad and rice. Barely feed 2 people with these meals. Disappointed with the cost vs amounts ratio. Better off dining in.
I ate the chicken and lamb. The lamb was juicy and delicious. The chicken had strong savory taste
Great service! The restaurant messed up our order - rice and salad and no potatoes, to just potatoes and no rice. They promptly dealt with it, apologized and drove the rice order up with a side of pita. Impressed and it s why I keep coming to this place. Watermelon salad also lovely!
Exceptional Dinning experience! Apon arrive we were greeted with a warm welcome. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate with the dim lighting, candle lit tables, with strings lights making you feel transported to Athens. The staff was well organized, professional and truly a dream team. We started with a glass of red wine La Finca and a watermelon mint soda (non-alcoholic) both drink were fantastic and great prices. From there we started with the dip taster and wow! Our mouth were bursting with flavour we absolutely love the roasted red pepper and feta dip! We also very much enjoyed the hummus and tatziki with our pita bread. This was followed by calamari that was done to perfection. We topped it off with a delicious Greek salad that is by far the best Ive ever had. It was so fresh, juicy and the feta tasted as if it was just freshly whipped from the farm and served right to us. There are many places to eat in Vancouver but this will be my favorite place! Looking forward to returning to try more things on the menu! Also shout out to Sam from England for the great service and hospitality and the recommendations on the dip!
As a vegan couple looking for options in north van, my boyfriend and I were sad to discover that the vegan options here were not up to par considering their price. The vegan calamari tasted a bit burnt, and this was the highlight of our meal. The vegan souvlaki was lacking substance considering it was $30, I believe we counted 6 pieces of 1 chopped up beyond sausage. However, the menu says two beyond meat skewers.. we had hoped for a bit more. Plus, we received a small ramekin of hummus which was disappointing. We were very excited to go to a greek restaurant with explicit vegan items, and were let down by the experience.
Staff were well aware of GF protocols for those with Celiac. I was reassured throughout the experience by our server. Many of the items are GF to begin with and thus, there were many options. I got the chicken souvlaki meal - which was perfect!
Food is always awesome no matter how busy they are.. owners and employees are amazing, always friendly, and go above and beyond to make your time there feel like you are like family.. been going here for many years and I ve never been disappointed..
Got food poisoning after ordering pork & chicken. Very disappointed as it had such high reviews.
Great ambiance and has the best red sangria!
The food was delicious, and we will definitely return to try the moussaka again! Sean, our waiter, provided excellent service!
Food was awesome! Try spinach pie
The food was little unsuitable for my kids, But it was delicious. Thank you. Food : 4/5
Lamb shank was unbelievable. Vegan calamari was fantastic. Everything was full of rich flavour. Highly recommend.
Super nice atmosphere. Food was good but not incredible.
Well it was way better than I expected! I forgot the name but the square thing with the cheese and potatoes was amazing i d love to try again
My partner and I joined for our 3 year anniversary and our server Sydney went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. She was incredibly attentive and we felt so special on your day!!
I had an amazing experience with server named Sydney, she was kind, happy, well mannered, helpful and just overall amazing. I will definitely be coming back with my family and loved ones as long as she is working there! Service
I have ordered takeout, as I am a visitor staying at the hotel. I picked up my order, got to the room and I realized that in any of the packages they were not cutlery. I do think the definition of takeout out means everything you need to eat what you have ordered.
First time dining here, our server seemed to be in rush. The patio seating was great. Food quantity was 5/10, we have had better Greek platters in Vancouver. The Sangria was 3/10, it tasted more like a pop. We informed server and her reply. One next time maybe we would get a better sangria. The belly dancing was once so feel bad for later client. Vegetarian options: Vegan options available
Anatolis is honestly one of the best restaurants on the North Shore. I have been numerous times for different occasions and casual meals. My friends and I had dinner on the patio last night and everything was exquisite. Without having a reservation, the hostess greeted us and sat us on the beautiful patio which was perfect. Our server, Spiery was incredible. Drinks were fast, and he was able to stagger and time our food perfectly. His recommendation for the vegan calamari was outstanding. He went above and beyond sending leftovers home which he took the care to package an additional sauce which I mentioned I loved. This restaurant is definitely a favourite of mine, and would recommend to anyone. Thank you for your delicious food and impeccable service. Our out of town guest was impressed, and so were we.
Great vegan options!
Stinky chicken
Such amazing food!!! I just LOVE their Greek Salad. It s simple yet so special. And their Ekmek kaday f is incredible.
Their food and drinks are amazing. Fantastic service as well!
Best Greek food with great entertainment.
Used to be my favourite restaurant, I brought my family that came to visit me but apparently they changed the menu and it was disappointing.
Was like a ghost when i showed up, had to go inside to ask for seats while i was ignored outside. Then was given the wrong menu its like nobody wanted to work there until we had one gentlemen who showed up with A1 service . Nothing against the restaurant or the food
Amazing food and great vegan friendly options!
Stopped for a drink, Didnt have food, but it looked good.
Get new cooks. Food was atrocious. Never going back. Lamb was like lamb jerky.
Great food and service- had the Saganaki, Moussaka, and Lamb Youvetsi and all 3 were great!
We had a great experience with Spierly (our server) tonight, Ive never seen someone as caring
Food was great and the restaurant was very beautiful!
Best food in the area! Had a very fresh and flavourful greek salad here, which really hit the spot. Chicken is cooked tenderly. Outside patio is a great bonus in the summer!
Visited Anatolia s to celebrate a birthday. Excellent evening from start to finish. Service, food and drinks were all perfect. Special thanks to Georgia for organising a cake and adding to the special occasion..the dancing also went down a storm!
Love their lamb youvetsi.
Great service and the Lamb tastes great but I didnt enjoy the excessive oil used in rice and salad. overall I would recommend this restaurant.
Ordered off the happy hour menu, costly items for their portion size, but tasty! Price aside, liked the vibe and freshness of the food!
I will definitely be coming back here again (edit: I have come back numerous times). The wrap and lamb were both so good. It s also a beautiful area with natural light.
I usually love this restaurant and they are usually very attentive to my food sensitivities, but I ordered Uber eats tonight because I was too sick to leave the house. I clearly noted on the order my gluten and dairy allergy and yet they sent the order with wheat pita bread and dairy tzatziki sauce. Please be more attentive in future, I had to throw out perfectly good food and my order size was smaller since you didn t make the usual substitutions. Also it was pricy. I should have just ordered the souvlaki dinner. For a small soup and some potatoes I paid nearly $35!
Anatoli Souvlaki at the Lonsdale Quay is a great spot for Greek food. If I am not mistaken, it used to be inside the market before the major overhaul of that entire area. This spot has inside and outside seating areas and seats at the bar. The food is excellent. Service is fast and courteous no wonder it gets pretty busy.
so sad I order a platter 100S missing bread, humous, soggy calamary, cold potatoes, dried skew ,chicken and etc wont ever order again from there.
Great food, completely ruined by some random performance of a belly dancer that came out of nowhere. They cranked the music to the point where we had to plug our ears - live concerts are more reasonable than this - and while I don t have any prejudice towards that, its ultimately not why I m there. PS - if people are sitting there clearly uncomfortable, plugging their ears for 20 minutes, get the hint and move on. We were not the only table that was unimpressed either
My boyfriend and I came here to dine last night and the food was absolutely delicious and amazing it did not disappoint us. Every bite reminded me of what my yiaya used to make! We ordered the lamb yiouvetsi, mousaka, tarama salata dip and ekmek. We had a nice Greek gentleman I believe was the manager or owner come to greet and seat us at our table and take our order. Then the server came, I think he was British or Australian I found very dull and cold not social or engaging in any conversation whatsoever. We had empty plates piled up on our table from the server not coming around as he was too busy sorting out his bills or engaging with other tables. Also we were the last to leave and I felt very uncomfortable when I was waking to the washroom and I heard one of the bartender or server say something like get out or leave . Meanwhile hostess looked very miserable as she was setting the tables next to us. We will come back for the food but not for the service. I still tipped 15% to the server but the entire tip should have gone to the kitchen for making our experience and night memorable.
Updating review to 3 stars based on latest painfully slow experience! The appetizers took over 30 minutes and it was only when we checked with them that they mentioned there was a big order that s delaying the kitchen- I would have appreciated it if they informed me before I felt the need to do so. The mains took another 30-35 minutes+. The chicken skewer was charred and almost bitter. Country lamb was good! - Squid was too salty, I did not enjoy the dish What a brilliant restaurant- love the service, food and the classic vibes. The night we dined in, they also had a live dance performance that added to the great experience. I have tried the Souvlaki dinners- beef, chicken: some might feel that the meat was slightly overcooked but it was very tasty. Squid appetizer: excellent dish, the combination of chickpeas, salad and squid phew out of this world Lamb Shanks- medium rare: Brilliant
I used to be a regular here and the food tasted amazing. Now the new set of chefs dont know how to cook well. Even my own cooking taste better. The waiters are really nice! I dont care about the price. But I come here for the food and the chefs cant cook better than me... Bring back the old set of chefs from 2022 and early 2023.
The food was cold. They forgot to add potatoes and when they brought the potatoes they were cold. The server was nowhere to be found. He never came once to ask us how the meal was.... I talked to him when I was paying the bill and he tried to excuse himself by saying we were never at the table, hence the poor service..let it be known that I saw him chatting up to two female staff, while my friend was waiting to order the main course which she still hadnt done after I came back..lol. what a farce...together we only left the table once and we advised him we were going to leave after the appetizer for a few minutes.. The restaurant was advised of the service and the state of the food but never offered to deduct a penny off the bill...Ive been there a in the past but Ill never step foot in that place again... BTW This is a first time Ive ever posted a restaurant review so it had to be bloody awful!
We had an absolutely lovely evening! Tim was our server and he was very attentive and friendly (loved the suspenders)! The atmosphere of this restaurant is a rare find!
Great food and drinks, loved the lemon orange margarita and sangria. Service was phenomenal from Tim. Great atmosphere!
Great place in the wharf district. Had a great family dinner. Tim in the suspenders brought us Ouzo. I really like the red dip with the pita
Warm and welcoming, our server, Tim was very attentive and friendly. Made suggestions that I might not have tried but really enjoyed and will order the next time I m there. Really enjoyed the belly dancing entertainment.
Been coming to Anatoly s for over 30 years. Food is consistently good authentic Greek. We were a table of 9 and had pre-ordered before arriving. Food did not come all at the same time, and the server expected a tip of 20%. Did not sit right with me. Food
Good food, great service. But when it comes to pay the bill I had double price I was overcharged! I didn t want to make a scandal cause I was with my date there. Anyway I will never go there again! Food
We had Timothy, and he was a spectacular server, very attentive and friendly, brought good vibes, love the suspenders. The food was excellent and I will be coming back again
Highly recommend this place. Service was phenomenal, food was amazing with lots of selection and the atmosphere was homely.
The restaurant has been going strong for 40 years and its still a great place for honest Greek food. I used to go there a lot 20 years ago..so eating there last night was like coming home to moms cooking!
My wife and I each enjoyed an excellent prawn souvlaki meal during Anatoli s 40th anniversary event. We started with hummus and warm pita, which was delicious. The prawns were excellent as was the service on an incredibly busy night (the people in front of us at reception without a reservation had a 2 hour wait). The rice that accompanied the prawns and Greek salad was mixed with all sorts of veggies and made for a colorful and tasty side dish. Music was a bit loud but not annoying. Highly recommend the Greek food at this staple of North Vancouver!
This is a beautiful restaurant, good ambience, good food and good service. Looks like just a small restaurant from the outside but once you get in, it s huge.good settings very casual and friendly staffs. I ordered chicken souvlaki appy, it come with a bread. Chicken was very flavourful and tender and just cooked right! Alhough price is on the higher ends, i think it s worth it. Hopefully i can come back again for the full meal!
Never disappoints. Always delicious food and service.
Having visited every Greek by Anatoli s location, I can confidently say I m never disappointed. The price offers high-quality, delicious, and tender meats. The ambience and staff at each spot are fantastic. I recommend it to anyone. For a family vibe, North Vancouver s waterfront area is lovely, while Gastown offers lively vibes. Before a Canucks or Whitecaps game, or to start or end the night, the Yaletown location is highly recommended. Their dishes like the oven-roasted feta, calamari, or any lamb platter keep me coming back every time. This place gets it right!
It was raining cats & dogs outside. Walking into the restaurant, the body and soul were instantly warmed up by the nice and cozy ambience, and the courteous greeting by the service staff. The feeling was further enhanced by the tasty & delicious food served. It was a nice evening spent here.
Service felt very rushed and it seemed like we were expecting to order, eat & leave in 20 mins. We were told that the lamb chops would be med-rare but were unfortunately well done. Overall a little disappointing given weve been to this restaurant many times over the years.
Food was a bit salty compared to other Greek restaurants around the lower Mainland. In particular I had their lamb shoulder. Pita bread was burnt. I noticed the souvlaki on other tables had charcoaled bits more than usual, suggesting the grills need a good cleaning. Overall, the meal was a little sodium heavy. Servers are friendly though. The reaturant cam use better ventilation as I could smell the scent of deep fried food hanging in the air the whole time. Probably from making their calamari. Again, better maintenance of their kitchen would have created an improved experience. I found the portions small for the price compared to other lower mainland greek restaurants .
Had a worst experience ever! When asked for a receipt. The waiter insulted me by saying he will bill me for the receipt because I did not leave enough tip. So now, waiters will get to decide how much tip I leave? Also asked me to foff when I told him that I will never come back here. I will share this experience with everyone I meet for rest of my life. You should be thankful for getting business and not insult your customer.
Wait time 30 minutes+. Other than that the portion sizes are very big and the dishes with rice are the best deal.
I really like Greeks foods and they do it perfectly
Spierry was the best. Took care of us. Food was amazing. Drinks were
Had a great experience here during happy hour on a Friday! The patio was beautiful and we were served by Spiery, who was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the menu! Would totally recommend the kolokothakia crisps - the dip was SO good!
They are so kind and provided delicious foods.
Came by for some food after hiking the Grouse Grind and Spierry took care of us! Sat outside and enjoyed great food, great caesars and great ouzo. Thanks for the chill Friday afternoon!
We had a birthday group of 6 last night and I must say the service was outstanding and great food.. We had a hard time finishing everything there was so much. We had two platters the full lamb and the other vegan. The vegan calamari was outstanding (oyster mushrooms). Thanks to our server and Sierra the manager for making our evening special! Vegetarian options: Excellent vegan platter
Food was quite good but I would ask them to not cook the chicken as much. Service was great.
Lentil salad was great, Beyond Meat skewers were amazing. I would order again
Excellent service made up for the average meal. We will try again.
nice server, country lamb was sooo delicious :)
Great restaurant that is pet friendly with amazing Greek food, a variety of beers, wine and also nice service, we will return for sure all the summertime in the nice outside area with the sea view. Vegetarian options: yes, they have.
Food was amazing.
Compared to last years visit , food got more expensive and less
The food was so delicious, service was excellent, and it was exciting to have vegan options at a Greek restaurant! I highly recommend the vegan calamari
Just had dinner here with my wife. We had dropped off our teenage daughters to go ice skating at the Shipyards with their youth group so decided to walk around the area to find a place to eat. We wanted a healthier choice than Tap & Barrel so we decided on Anatoli. Service and atmosphere was great. Our beef tenderloin was on the burnt and a bit dry side but otherwise the food was great . We only had 30min left to eat and leave. We would definitely come back again if we are in the area again.
Love the service. All the staff was soo fantastic and just on it. The food was really good. LOVEDDD the red sangria. It was perfection. I was just really surprised that the prawn souvlaki didnt come with Pita bread. I went Saturday night with a couple girl friends. It was a little hard to talk because it was very loud. Then, the music got turned up even more and the belly dancer came out. We thought it was for a birthday party in the next room but it was for the whole restaurant. It was fun for the first few minutes and then it started to feel like too much. Especially when she was dancing near our table with her hand chimes. It was a bit too much given that there was so much other noise. I had to get up and leave until she was done. Love this restaurant though. Cozy, comfortable and great food.
Very Nice People and Great Food
Amazing bar service from Sydney tonight, came here on a whim and had the best time, will be back.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Been coming here since I was a kid. The calamari, fried goats cheese and lamb souvlaki was perfect last night. Food : 5/5
One of my favourite places near the ocean on Shipyards in North Vancouver. Always fresh food prepared with a touch of Greek cousin.
Love the vegan options here all are so good!
Great atmosphere and service. The food was fantastic. Portion size was good, we left feeling very satisfied
Food was good, server was fantastic, tables a bit close together so all I could hear was the conversation on the other two tables. Couldnt hear the convo from my table. We ate quickly and left!
Georgia, the Manager and Sean our server went above and beyond to make me and my moms late lunch a delight. I really enjoyed Moussaka, they do make it a proper meal for one so good portions. The dolmathes are healthy appetizer but I didnt love the sauce that came with it. Overall, a good dining experience that accommodates large groups, has a extensive happy hour menu and offers dinner meals throughout the day
I ordered food via DoorDash. The zucchini fritters had pieces of calamari in them which I only discovered after eating some of the zucchini. As a vegetarian, it was very disturbing and ruined a nice meal. This was a favourite restaurant and I frequently visit the one in Yaletown in person. Never again. Vegetarian options: Don t trust them!
The food was awesome, and the staff had everything covered. It felt like being in someone s home that really cared for their guests. Vegetarian options: Great options IMO
Food in the salty and overcooked side, great calamari, avoid the nightcap desert drink, prices on the high side. Good atmosphere.
Great place, food and service
Love going to this place for the food and ambience.
Food quality is amazing. We ordered the Souvlaki dinner package with beef, chicken and prawn. I enjoyed the environment also and the behavior of the staffs were also so generous. Highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Greek restaurants.
We went there to celebrate my husband s birthday with friends and family. The place is beautiful, delicious food, great atmosphere and excellent service. We had a great time!
Delicious food. Cozy atmosphere. Great service. Both dine in and take out are great.
Awesome food! Beautiful server, handsome and pretty chef.
We ordered Mezze share plate thinking share for $50 but turned out $100- great food, biggest ripoff ever- two meals at average $27 would have been wayyyy more reasonable and close amount of food- sooo disappointing
Amazing food. Best Greek food I ve ever had
Long wait time, not going back. 45 for a meal that didnt fill me up and lacked flavor. Was quite average nothing that stood out to me except for the wait time to get a table.
Love the food here
Nice greek foods
10/10 Greek food. Weve ordered takeout twice in the past few weeks and its the best Greek in our opinion. We get the chicken+lamb souvlaki, prawn souvlaki and the calamari. Calamari is SO GOOD. Best around. We ordered 2 pita and only got one but we can get over it :)
The food was fine, not great. The beef tenderloin skewers were subpar, and many items on the souvlaki plate were lukewarm (the rice was cold). Be aware that the menu for daily specials is incorrect, and that the house rosé is not considered a house wine for some reason. ¯\_( )_/¯ The auto-gratuity was 20%, which seemed excessive for such an underwhelming service level.
Really good greek food. The calamari was so thick and juicy. Meat skewers were so flavorful. The portions werent massive but I found it was enough for me. Would try again for sure
Excellent service, the waiter went the extra mile to get me the beer I wanted to try based on my preferences, food was very tasty, and the atmosphere was warm and peaceful with a great selection of music.
Great food Nice people Very very slow service Old furniture Food : 5/5 |
Ordered a Calamari dinner, salmon and three orders of pita bread. Unfortunately, the Calamari and salmon were lacking in taste and the pita bread was stale. I had to throw it out. We called in to let them know and they had a very nonchalant attitude.
I am a fan of good Greek food and tried many around the lower mainland. This is good but not as good as Greka Taverna. Its a few $$ more than other comparable restaurants but its a tourist area.
This is our favourite Greek restaurant. The food is excellent - our favourites are the Greek salad, calamari, taramasalata and pitas, the skewers, and their lentil salad. The service is always friendly. It can be a little slow when they are busy, but we dont mind and it is a relaxing environment and we just chat.
Just awesome!
We celebrated my fiances birthday at Anatoli we sat on the patio and it was spectacular!
Have been eating here for many years. It has regularly been a hit and miss and unfortunately in the past year it has been more misses than hits. Recently dined in and the food was 0 out of 5 stars. We received our Calamari and some of them were soggy and so chewy we could not eat them. Then we got our main dishes - Roasted Lamb and Chicken. The Lamb was ok, a bit old and from someone who eats lamb I can always tell when its fresh or old. The worse part of our dinner was the salad. The cucumbers were dried and stuck together and looked as if they were cut up a few days ago and sitting in a bowl. Our server was shocked and said she would get it fixed asap. They brought a new side of salad and voila it was the same. Even sort of worse this time considering she said she spoke to the kitchen and they assured her it was fresh cucumbers they chop in the morning. As someone who cooks my own food and is from Iran, I know cucumbers and can easily tell when its old. If you cut a cucumber in the morning and put it in the fridge it will not turn yellow and shrivel up within 5-8 hours. Even in 2 days it wont do that. The cucumbers were probably closer to 3-5 days old. We were so disappointed because we wanted our 10 month old to eat cucumbers while we had our dinner. The service was ok. Definitely not going back again. Very unfortunate but hope they improve as it seems most restaurants go down hill after their prime years. Hope this review helps.
Delish greek yummies!
Super friendly staff, they have a lot of outdoor seats so its a great place to go when the weather is nice. You got to Calamari and Country Lamb - our plates were spotless at the end of the meal.
Lamb Souvlaki was good, although the lamb was a touch on the dry side. I enjoyed the patio, and the service was fast and attentive. Ill come back for sure
We had a large party here the other night, the food was amazing. Highly recommend. Everything was served family style and it was so so good. Service was excellent by the ones who were serving, I gave service 4 stars not because of the quality of the service, but you could tell that there weren t enough servers for a large party, but definitely don t blame the servers for that but management.
They had no Retsina. Then they scrounged up a full bottle. I was only one drinking it and didnt want full bottle. The place was packed and any half decent waiter could sell the other half of a bottle in about 3 seconds but they wanted me to buy whole bottle. Food was good. But not going back.
Beautiful restaurant, service and fantastic food
My sister and I went here for lunch yesterday as the smell from the street was enticing and their small outdoor patio was busy so figured that was a good sign. Prices seemed high so when we were told there was a Happy Hour menu figured we would try that out. I had the pita with pork and it was so small and the pork was fatty, no flavour and was hard to chew and that was $12.00. My sister had the Greek salad and the spanakopita. This was a total of $19.00 for the two of them and there were barely any tomatoes in her salad and what there was she said were not good at all. They were very generous with the feta, however. The spanakopita was so small. All of our stuff came out at different times and we did not get to eat together. The waitresses when you saw them were pleasant but no one came to see how our food was and I had to hunt someone down to get the cheque. One would figure when I had so much pork on my plate left they would have enquired. $35.00 for lunch that left us hungry and desiring proper food. Would not recommend.
Surprisingly good food here
We went to Anatoli S last week and had a really good time. Even though the place was quite crowded, getting a reservation was simple because the restaurant is much bigger than it appears. The host and our server were really friendly and made us feel welcome. But the highlight was definitely the food - it was incredibly tasty, and we enjoyed every bite of it. The flavors were delightful and left us satisfied. While we were enjoying our meal, a dancer suddenly appeared and gave us an amazing performance. It was a wonderful surprise that added to our dining experience. We had our kids with us, and even they had a great time. The restaurant seemed to cater well to families, and the kids had a blast.
My experience at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. The lack of inclusivity was evident, with a frustrating check-in process and poor service. Despite being on the waiting list for over thirty minutes, my patience was tested as I noticed four empty tables on the patio. Conflicting explanations from different waitresses - one mentioning reservations and the other blaming staff shortage - only added to the confusion. Regrettably, I had no choice but to leave without being seated. Given the circumstances, I would have rated this establishment with zero stars if possible.
Finally decided to try out this place after constantly seeing their patio filled with customers and im glad i did! The lamb shank was so tasty and tender! Highly recommend! Customer service however was slightly disappointing, thankfully the delicious food made up for that and will be coming back again :)
Where to start. We had a table of 8 so they had an auto gratuity. We think this is the reason the waitress was so awful. We asked her to bring all the food at the same time and instead she brought the dishes with up to 45 mins in between. Meant that some of our party had to eat and the rest just sat and waited. She did not come and ask if we needed anything (we did). We had to return a dish it was made so poorly. She was rude and unpleasant and made the whole experience awful. We think the auto gratuity made her think she didn t have to offer basic service. In addition, once we went to pay she set the machine to ask for a tip even though she had already added a tip. What kind of service is this? Asking for a tip on a tip? Never again! Edit to add: I stand by my review However I wanted to add that management did contact me. They apologized and took accountability for the experience. They have given me and my family options to make the experience better. Hopefully this is a learning opportunity and won t happen again.
Dog accepted on terrace good happy hour
Having a lunch on the summer patio here was a wonderful experience! We were seated outside in the front, having a nice view on the Shipyards whilst enjoying our lunch - mine chicken & salmon souvlaki, with extra lemon potatoes which where mouth-watering, combined with a tzatziki sauce and small pita breads. My friend chose to go with a vegan moussaka, which was combined a hummus and small pita breads. Staff was exceptionally nice, which made our lunch at the restaurant even nicer :)
Dania was amazing~ Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Food & drinks were also excellent.
After coming here for 10 years and always getting my go-to favourite meal (Chicken Souvlaki!) I decided to take the owners recommendation and try the roast chicken today. It was the BEST meal I have ever had here and now I dont know if I will ever go back to Souvlaki! HIGHLY recommend this place and also this menu item!!! Will be back very soon! Vegetarian options: Such a wide array of options for all diets and choices - great menu Dietary restrictions: I have dietary issues (gluten free, dairy free) and they were very easy to accomodate Kid-friendliness: Our kids LOVE coming here and can feel the family friendly energy in the whole place! Our favourite restaurant to take the kids out to
Great patio and delicious food...fun summer dinner spot
Love their calamari
While their sister restaurant in Yaletown is closer and still a good option for Greek food, this restaurant is still by far my favourite Greek restaurant in Vancouver! Their roast lamb is absolutely perfect every time I ve been, and their calamari is crispy, light, not too much batter and not greasy at all. I usually take pictures to add to my reviews but I was too eager to dig in and eat, so I forgot to this time haha. Highly recommend coming here if you re in the area!
One of the best Greek restaurants!!! In North Vancouver! Anatoli Souvlaki is just true love !
Beautiful setting, above average service. The best mousaka Ive ever had, and believe me, Ive had plenty! The calamari was fresh and fried to perfection. Our server, B, was cheerful, and very attentive. Highly recommend and will be back when in Vancouver again.
Our server was good, we didnt have a reservation and were seated quickly during the middle of the week. We ordered hummus and it was good, the pita was warm, which is good. We ordered the chicken and pork skewers and they both had issues. Pork was undercooked, and so, we asked the server to replace that with chicken. The chicken was salty and so, we didnt enjoy the dining experience as the food was seriously lacking the taste and perfection needed.
The staff were very beautiful ladies and the service was very good, so I was able to enjoy dinner in a somewhat luxurious atmosphere. The food was also very delicious
Absolutely amazing spot, incredible food, location, and service. Everything we had was so good. Will be back. Parking: Parking is sparse, and paid unless you want to walk a block or two.
Sometimes I have a hamburger to remind myself why I dont eat hamburgers. Sometimes I go to Greek restaurant to remind myself why I love Greek food. This is one of those places that works for me. Was not our first time here but it was a great experience again. Went for a hike in the forest and were starving. Whenever you are hungry and tired at the same time, Greek is the answer. Were a bit afraid of the parking, but wasnt bad. With the patio open there was no problem with sitting down either (no reservation). Excellent food, great bear and the service was superb. If you are living in Vancouver, hop on the SkyTrain and you are there already. The atmosphere is great, but if you are a demanding North American type, please go someplace else, you are not going to like it. More of a marina than a cruise experience.
Always busy and full and always fun to go to Vegetarian options: Vegetarian calamari / spanakopita platter Food : 4/5 |
Not a fan of Greek food......but it was delicious....Im a fan now. Service was a little slow, it was busy on Saturday night. Would go again.
This place was delicious. Wish I could send the taste over the internet. If you have the chance, go and eat their country lamb
The food isnt worth the price. The service was casual, and the waitress was friendly, though. They have a belly dancer on weekends, and its a busy bee restaurant.
Ordered the spanakopita plate and chicken souvlaki plate through Uber eats. I haven t had good experiences with Greek food in Vancouver let alone take out Greek. This place blew my mind and my expectations. Everything was seasoned incredibly well. Perfect portions. We also ordered the calamari appetizer- arrived crispy and warm. Kudos to the staff and chef at this location. I will be a returning customer.
Beautiful patio for a sunny day and wonderful attentive service from our server Tim! Happy hour drinks and lamb kebab were tasty. I would give this place more stars, but the womens bathroom is really needing some TLC/updates and more light . Overall, worth checking out .
Great souvlaki, great service from Ben too. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options. Food : 5/5 |
An absolute gem spot for a date night or group gathering. We were so lucky to come on a night where there was a belly dancing show. This added to our already fun and delicious night. I don t think you can go wrong ordering any of their listed items. Kid-friendliness: Belly dancing entertainment added to the fun
The atmosphere and taste are all good It was a Greek restaurant that I entered after mistaking it for the one next door. It was friendly and delicious I wanted to visit again later for dinner.
Delicious, Friendly, Entertaining and...did I say delicious
Food was great and the server was attentive. They even comped our ouzo and baklava for my birthday! Vegetarian options: They had lots of vegetarian and VEGAN options!
Great Greek food!! Loved the atmosphere. I had the souvlaki plate and it was very filling. Every plate I saw at the table looked great. Great spot to visit in North Van!
Most of the foods was delicious and the roast lamb was really one of the best meats I ever had! I suggest to try it at lunch while their price is almost 20% cheaper but the atmosphere in the night was also great specially for couples! Food
Do not go here. Food came at different times for all our guests. It was my moms birthday and they didn t care or do anything. I had the souvlaki platter and was still hungry (I m 120lbs). Lamb was so tough could barely chew. Chicken was oily and each piece was a quarter size of a typical chicken skewer. Greek salad was the size of my toddlers palm. Cucumber was in thin slices .not chunks like an authentic Greek salad. Rice was cold and under cooked. Manager came over and said he d waive items off our bill. He gave us a total of $20 off a $130 bill .. Still forced to pay the server a 20% tip which was $27. Our entire table was upset. Worst Greek food I ve ever had. Mall food court Opa is better.
Thanks to Sperry for service
It was a great experience. The lamb shanks were delicious:))) Spierry provided us with excellent service for our dinner and drinks. Food : 5/5
Always a good time here. Spiery is awesome!
Excellent food and fantastic service.
Always amazing food, its no surprise that thi restaurant has stood the test of time and has been open for as long as I can remember. Good food, great atmosphere.
Had a fantastic staff party at Anatoli Souvlaki in North Vancouver. The pre service from Georgia was very helpful in the planning and everything was delivered perfectly. Excellent food, atmosphere and great service. Thanks for making our holiday party a success, we really enjoyed it.
UPDATE- DECEMBER 4/23 - I just wanted to let readers know the outcome - I did end up receiving a refund today. Ordered via Uber at 520pm Anatolis staff gave our order to another driver- I had to call to find this out that was 623pm- they certainly didn t attempt to reach out to us ; wanted to then cancel the order because it was delayed further/ taking too long and the manager told me I can t - she then said she needs to talk to Uber- she was unapologetic and said she would remake our order and had to go when it arrived it was ice cold - truly ice cold ..did you send us the original order returned to you? The salad looked like they just sliced cucumbers I would like a refund please at 62.40 (tried calling so they could pick it back up or discuss but was put on hold twice). Have been going here for decades - expected more -used to be so reliable and consistent, what happened Georgia?? order number ECB20
Went here with my boyfriend, and the service by Spiery was absolutely wonderful! He was super fun to talk to, very fast and efficient, and the food was just lovely. I d recommend getting the lamb shank and the fried calamari.
Always amazing. Edited to just... say its always amazing again.
Best lamb ever! Love the vibe and food! Incredible! Country Lamb was my best experience ever
We enjoyed a festive atmosphere and good Greek food! The meze was really tasty, so was the lamb. Our English waitress (Maya?) added a sunny smile to the place & made us feel very welcome. Definitely worth a visit!
Great place used to go weekly with the wife three years ago for their Calamari and Country Lamb. They really did a nice revamp, busiest Ive ever seen it. It looks like they got a consultant for the cactus club or earls. The food is still great, the atmosphere is nice and the servers are very professional.
I visited Anatoli Souvlaki last month and had Maya as my server. She was the best ever! I will have to come back soon for the great food and great banter with Maya!
Amazing food. Friendly staff. Great ambience You should try it Food : 5/5
