Poke Bar (Lonsdale) in North Vancouver

I really like the ingredients of the Poke here because they are so fresh and go well with the sauce. Especially, I like raw fish among protein, and I usually order large size because they are fresh I bought chicken cup rice for my daughter, she said Wow, thats my type!! So yummy!!

Ordered 4 protein bowl through uber, and the portion was extremely small. Looking at pictures from other reviewers, mine looks like they ran out of food and put what they could. When I opened the lid, it looked like it was half eaten due to the lack of food in there. It feels like youre ordering a large drink and its only filled by half. Wont bother again.

Tasty and fresh food. Super clean place with friendly stuff and good interior. Just recently discovered this place and plan to come often.

If you re trying to find the best Poké place in Vancouver then I would highly suggest here. I ve eaten at countless Poké bars in and around the Vancouver area, and this is by far my favourite choice. Very quick service, very professional staff, and deliciously affordable food. I recommend this establishment to all of my friends and family and I will be coming here the rest of my days!

My favourite poke bowl in the city for years! Very fresh and delicious! The staff are always so kind and friendly. I love it here!

This place seems to be a poke restaurant with fresh ingredients and neatly plated dishes. I like that there are various types of sauces, and you can feel the freshness of the ingredients. Despite finding it difficult to make poke, the staff kindly explained everything, so I could enjoy a delicious meal. The clean interior makes it nice to dine inside as well. I often visit this place for my health!

Poke Bar on Lonsdale is AMAZING. Probably the best value in Vancouver great price for good portion size and choices of ingredients, sides, salads and sauces for your poke bowl. Today, I had the 2 protein bowl with ahi tuna and salmon with ponzu and garlic mayo sauce. With 7 vegetables 3 salads and furikake plus other crispy goodness. I keep coming here and i wish i could eat like this everyday. It s absolutely delicious.

I used to love this place, as in id order like 2-3 times a week every week for months. but every time ive ordered recently the qualities gone downhill. the rice is underdone, the sauces arent added in the right amounts, the fish tastes, for a lack of a better word, fishy. Regrettably, I dont think ill order again for the foreseeable future, which is a shame because this place was truly my favourite.

I m obsessed with the poke bowls from here. It s my favorite takeout and I ve never had a bad order. Always super fresh, generous with the protein and the staff even write cute notes on my bowl lid saying thank you! Started getting the tuna gimbap recently too and it s awesome. You should try here

Ridiculously small portion. Charges 2$ for kale noodle every where else charges 1 and also tells you its x amount extra.doesn t tell you how build your own bowl works and incredibly rude. Wants to charge for everything. I want dressing on the side and wanted to charge for the container. Didn t ask if I want a bag. I asked her to torch and she said they only torch the existing item in the menu that doesn t make sense anywhere else I have been they have done it. and last but not least food tasted awful and was not fresh at all. I have been to many pole bowl places in DT and burnaby this one is 100% rip off

Never ever buy there a ramen! Disgusting. I ordered by uber eats it was cold and the broth tastes like a water. Eeeeh. Never again.

Well thought I try poke from this place and the negative reviews are right. They have not changed their proportions at all. Extremely small amounts for the price you pay. The foods not bad, edible, though I feel sorry for those who give high praises for this store because seriously what they give feels more like an appetizer dish than anything more. Honestly travel outside Lonsdale and youll find cheaper and better sized poke restaurants.

Try their kale noodles in your bowl instead of rice / salad - you wont regret it! When my sister comes home to visit, she always makes sure to get a meal here before she leaves!

My girlfriend and I ordered 2 bowls and at least 3 items were swapped. The quantity of fish given was also very small and avocado only half ripe. Overall taste was ok

This is a store with a friendly Korean owner. It was our first time trying poke, but they explained it in detail, so we had a delicious meal. Rice was the base, so it was perfect for Koreans like us. I think well go often. Highly recommended!!

Their poke bowls are fresh & really tasty. A bit pricy, but you get what you pay for :) I usually get the Yuzu with Gochujang sauce. Would recommend!

I had the beef bulgogi rice and rice was undercooked, the japchae only contains noodles and was super dry. The beef was just okay but doesnt taste fresh.

The bowls are tasty but the servings of fish are very minimal. I was shocked by just how little fish was served in the four protein bowl that costs over $20. This has been a consistent trend now the last few times we ve been. I would recommend you visit PokeLani on Main St instead for much better serving sizes.

I ordered a poke bowl from Poke Bar (Lonsdale) via Uber Eats, and am so disappointed by the tiny portion quantity. The only vaguely decent serving size was the rice; but every other protein/topping was the bare minimum. Tasted fine, but certainly not value for money when paying $20 for a poke bowl!

Meh! The food wasn t that bad but for sure I wont be going there again. The protein portions are super small. I orders three protein bowl and the three protein portions together were smaller than one protein portions that I usually get in Poke bars. The food quality was also not very good. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The tuna was also not very tasty. All other veggies were ok. The atmosphere is nice and clean. Also the price point is higher that usual poke bars. I would have ignored the price if the quality of the food had commensurated the price.

I love this place! I order from here all the time. The food is always fresh and when I get deliveries, the staff write the cutest notes on the box, such a nice touch. Highly recommended!

Ordered through Uber eats. While I understand that portion is relative, my order of 4 protein combo was a joke! Don t order through any delivery services! It s a ripoff! I did 3 stars because the taste is good but a waste of 20 dollars for the portion! Unacceptable

This is probably the saddest poke bar I ve been to. The portions are incredible small, the corn was brown, they put a drop of masago on my poke, they also charged 20.00 for nothing.

Food was good, staff were nice, but for a meal that is over $16 the amount of protein was too small.

So good! Very clean restaurant, friendly and efficient staff behind the counter. Ample choices for customizations (white or brown rice, vegetarian proteins, sashimi or cooked seafood, good selection of sauces and toppings). Portions are a little small for the price, but given the current economic situation, restaurants across the board are being forced to charge more for less. Location is great if you are on foot or transit. Parking in this area can be really tricky. Would definitely recommend.

Dont place online order. They need to be watched while making your meal. We have always been ordering in person for years with no problem. When we started to place order online, they became sneaky. We ordered online for 3 times now and all of them had missed something. First time they put 2 pieces of leafs for my veggie base, second time they didnt put the avocado that I paid $1.75 extra for, the third time they didnt put a protein in. Im not even mentioning the jokable small portions of everything. I was thinking that they were probably busy and missed it at first, but the 100% chance of missing an item on online order made me think they did it on purpose. As everytime I go there I dont see them busy with orders. If only there is another poke place opening around the area, then I would never go back. Ripping people off a few dollars here and there is not saving you money, only pushing customers away and lose in the long run.

The quality is good and I like the food. But I think the lady working there is just reluctant to put an adequate portion I was there twice and the same thing happened .The portion gave me a feeling of like I m eating last night s dinner leftovers. So disappointing.

Dont go into the restaurant as they wont even look at you. They would rather fill the online orders than acknowledge a human in front of them. Will never go here again. Pretty upsetting as I love the food.

My medium size poke bowl had the smallest portions of protein I have ever seen. It was supposed to have 3 proteins, but the total amount was less than one scoop at other poke places. The rice was hard and the side dishes were bland. How has this place survived? I ordered through a delivery service so I couldnt complain. Never ordering from here again.

We had visited here for the first time with my dad and my daughter. The owner was super kind and had explained me thoroughly how to place an order. My dad and I had a Poke bowl with brown rices 3 types of protein (Salmon and two types of Tuna), and lots of variety healthy vegetables. My daughter had a Tonkotsu Ramen. I recommend you to order through in-person rather than ordering from online so that you can clearly see what ingredients you are choosing. The first impression of the restaurant when I enter here was clean and small. There are not many tables in this restaurant, but you can easily take out and eat at near the Library. There are many spots to sit. Great location and healthy & tasty foods. If you love Poké and Japanese noodle soups, this place is highly recommended.

Food taste great but not happy with the size of the bowl for medium (2 proteins). For $20 The sides were barely a bite, and sauce was non existent, rice was maybe 5 bites, the size for the poke was a good amount. But hey at least they got me my avocado. WestCoastPoke is better.

Very tasty food, but small portion. Ive been coming here since the restaurant first opened and always been happy with generous amount of sides until today. Suddenly they decided to charge extra 0.50 for masago(it was labeled so I KIND OF understand that) and 1.00 for imitation crab too(which wasnt written anywhere). And my greens were barely there even after I asked for bit more. In general everything was in small portions. Sadly I dont think I will be coming back. Please dont excuse yourself with covid and inflation because your price already reflects that change. Im not complaining about the price, Im complaining about the change of service. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because food tastes good!

Terrible experience ordering dinner for delivery, I paid 26$ for 4 Protein Aburi and got a sad amount of protein and a scoop of rice. Definitely avoid this place, not sure how their in-person service is since you are present for it being made but nobody enjoys ending a long day with this sort of experience and then receiving a sorry we will do better next time, clearly this is an ongoing issue and hasnt been fixed, look at the other reviews.

Very fresh and delicious. Healthy option for less carbs

Ordered from Uber eats. The sauce was way too overpowering to enjoy the fish and it was doused in sauce...There was more sauce than rice. Tiny serving of rice. I think it otherwise wouldve been good, but the sauce completely ruined the experience.

Just got 2 veggie bowls. So so delicious. They definately put too much sauce and too little rice but the flavor is so there ! Will return my husband really loved his as well!

Poke was okay. It was fast and ingredients were fresh. Lots of options for sides to add to the bowl. Where they fall down is ramen - poorly made with mushy noodles and not the greatest ingredients. Ramen is overpriced for what you get, not sure why they offer this considering how it doesnt match the quality of their Poke options.

They have variety of flavor options & fresh ingredients! my vegetarian husband really enjoyed veggie poke bowl, and I loved small rice with a large portion of fish and veggie, which is good for my diet. This is definitely healthy food and good price. I visit often, when I dont want to cook, specially in this hot. Now we can dine in, loved cool place..

Fresh,healthy food with many awesome choices

If you ask for half salad and half carb they say yes but they don t follow through. You get a portion of rice or noodles and four lettuce leaves. What a rip off! Updated: I ve asked for more salad and they give you a few more leaves. Unfortunately they re just not as good as the Poke in Lonsdale quay. They re more expensive, have smaller portions, are miserly with the sauces, ginger and other extras. They ve also started charging for masago which used to be included. The quality and service is just not that great. I m going back to Lonsdale quay

Fresh ingredients and reasonable prices! Not a lot of indoor seating so it s definitely more of a takeout place. The only reason why I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars is because they didn t have descriptions of their specialty poke bowls; just names. So it s unclear as to what s in them and you have to ask them what is in each. Definitely a bit annoying if it s busy and someone is new and is trying to decide what to order.

Friendly place, took my gf there and we are always rusty on the whole steps 1,2,3 process. The lady made it simple and put on a smile the whole time.

They have a variety of ingredients and sauces, so I can make Poke as I want. Curry and ramen menus are also great and good to eat on cold days! I always thank the kind staff. Thank you!

But one was about half of the other... They wont be seeing me or have any recommendations from me for a while. Best poke in North Van so far - no longer valid.

Ordered through skip the dishes. No chip sticks and no sauces. Tuna was tough and gritty and hard to chew. Small portion compared to my go to in Richmond. Won t be going here again. Too bad cause it s close to work and I love poke!

We tried the aburi poke and it was quite good! Were big fans of aburi sushi so when we saw a poke version, we needed to give it a try. Additionally, the staff was very nice and you get to choose all your mixins which was awesome. Well be back!

I took out Tonkatsu ramen tonight. It s cheaper when you get it by walk-in compared to ordering via food delivery apps. I didn t expect a poke restaurant would have good ramen. However, it was great surprisingly. The broth of the ramen was not too salty and it had garlic flavour in it which made the broth even better. Tonkatsu and noddles were good. Overall, I was satisfied with the decent price and the quality of the food. Besides, the ramen was placed in a Self-heating bowl. I bet I will get this one for lunch if I am going to do snow sports in the future.

Recently visited the North Vancouver Lonsdale location and was served by, what I assume, is the new guy... they typically wear gloves on both hands when preparing the orders. This guy didnt. His nails were uncut and he had some weird rash on both upper arms. Very hygienic.

First time trying Poke, I had no idea what this was. I walked in thinking it was Hawaii food. I have never ate anything raw in my life. Lol The young man was friendly and welcoming so I decided to try the spicy salmon. I loved it and now this is my favorite place to eat. I have tried other Poke places but this one is the best. Keep up the good work, great customer service, very clean and food is fresh and delicious.

Poke bar needs to work on their portions as well, my scoop of spicy salmon had literally 3 pieces of salmon... is this the intent? To provide 3 pieces of salmon per scoop? I was completely stuck in the line up how to start to order as I had no idea what poke is. However, one gentleman looking like one of management team explained nicely what it is and gave me a suggestion, and it really worked. That meal was simply amazing. Great portion at price point, very fresh, friendly and well trained staffs made me out with happiness. I m not closely living in this area, however, I would go back there as I m already craving it.

The food was heavenly- fresh and plentiful! The service was great and the workers were very educated on what was gluten free. They even remembered us the second time we returned. This is our new favorite restaurant!

Very good food and great service. Place was packed, but super quick to order and food was tasty. The staff came by during our lunch and asked us how it was and topped up our waters. Most definitely not expected, but was greatly appreciated! HIGHLY Recommend.

When i found the POKE BAR , i never go to the sushi town , my family really like this nice Hawaiian restaurant , i highly recommended everybody , try this restaurant , specifically , this restaurant is running by nice owner (TERRY) , he is such a nice guy and friendly . JUST GO POKE BAR and enjoy the delicious and healthy food.

My favorite food right now

It was slightly steep in price, but it was extremely fresh and delicious. One would assume that such expensive and fresh ingredients would warrant the higher price. The small size seemed more than sufficient for one person, and surely the larger sizes could be shared.
