Farina a Legna is a casual, intimate Italian restaurant taking its menu inspiration from the wood oven, which is the heart of our kitchen. The menu is designed to be shared family-style, with a selection of antipasti, pasta, and, of course, pizza. We showcase seasonal ingredients from local farmers and purveyors, as well as specialty items from Italy.
Had read all the positive reviews so had high hopes , got a margherita pizza which was terrible probably had more basil than cheese on it , also got a finocchiona pizza fennel sausage was good but pizza was nothing special , dough pretty dry . Not sure why they put so much basil on the pizzas almost like they’re trying to hide how little toppings there is
I visited Farina a Legna with my family, and it was absolutely amazing! The pizza and pasta were out of this world—easily some of the best we’ve ever had. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was excellent. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food that truly delivers on taste, Farina a Legna is the place to go. Highly recommend it for a fantastic dining experience with family or friends!
Amazing Italian restaurant! Excellent service and authentic Italian food! Highly recommend the breakfast pizza and the classic kale salad! The cappuccino was also spectacular! I had two to myself!
This is a cute little Italian spot in North Vancouver. The service is efficient and friendly. The food is delicious and comes out quick! The only thing I would suggest is add a little more meat to the pasta dishes. The noodle to meat ratio was off, however I’d still eat here again because it was that good!
nice italian restaurant . came in for lunch .. Erin the hostess was really nice brock our server was also cool! the birch and cedar fired oven is a hit.. u can really taste in the food ! will definitely come back to try the other pastas
Cute Italian place in Lower Lonsdale. We’ve passed by here several times and it’s always been very busy at dinner time, so we decided to stop here for dinner when I was craving Italian. I absolutely adore the interior, as you can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. We came during happy hour which was a pleasant surprise for us, and the restaurant began to fill up a little while after we sat down. The staff were very helpful with their recommendations, and gave us pleasant conversation. We ordered the two crostinis on the happy hour menu (both were fantastic), the calabrian chili pomodoro mussels, and the ragu di manzo and prosciutto & arugula pizza to share. The pasta and the appetizers were excellent, the pizza left something to be desired. Overall, it was a great Italian dinner!
Overall, a wonderful Italian evening. Pastas were excellent, service was even better. Pizzas were average (we got the bubbles on the crust tho) but toppings were a little lackluster: definitely a two-hand or fold kinda slice as the crust is very droopy. Roasted veg were good but nothing special. Pastas were cooked al dente but the ragu had very little beef. Not pictured is the pesto spaghettoni but it was very good. Tiramisu is really good here! People have commented on the noise level, but it’s nothing out of the ordinary for an open space like this. Great to see an open kitchen. The dining chairs are a little uncomfortable. Family style meal price point is excellent: a group of 4 split the $180 of 2 appies, 2 pastas, 2 pizzas and 2 desserts
I had really good experience here. My bf doesn’t usually like squid ink pasta but we tried it since the chef Marvin recommended it to us. We absolutely loved it. My bf was surprised how fresh the seafood in this pasta was. I finished all the pasta sauce by dipping the pizza we also ordered. It was too good to be wasted. In addition, all the ppl who work there are very friendly and nice. It’s a very cute place good for a date, girl night, birthday celebration and any kind of occasion. I will definitely go back! You must book a table. This place is always popular and busy.
I wanted to give this place a second chance. Didnt love it the first time but couldnt remember why. Went again and was told 45min to 1 hour wait. it turned into 1.5 hours. Then the room was super loud, we sat near the window (unsealed) that was chilly and fogged up. No Burrata because they didnt have bread or chips but couldnt they bake and cut up some pizza dough? Had meatballs instead, tasty but not amazing. Squash pasta was decent. Then the vegan pizza with pickled fennel, zucchini, peppers and artichokes was super plain. Was told no cheese but thought the flavour would be so good that we wouldnt miss the cheese. We missed the cheese. Toppings added after cooking, not much flavour in the sauce or veggies - super bland. I think the ideas for the meals are good but the execution is poor. Final point- did serve the wrong beer and then fixed it with no fuss and we got 2 glasses of wine when we only ordered and paid for one so that was nice.
It was my first time trying burrata, I will be getting it again. The margherita pizza was delicious. The service was friendly and helpful with our selections.
This was our first time at Farina a Legna and we had an amazing experience. Authentic Italian gem in the North Shore with great energy and dining atmosphere. The wood burning oven pizza is top notch quality - we loved the dough and quality ingredients. Will without question be back to dine here again. North van needs more dining options like this one!
Great cozy place !!!
They were very accommodating with our reservation. Food was great.
Was good restaurant they have nice wine but not so many options about the food and so noisy inside the place, the service was good and she was very helpful and lovely!
Kind of in the middle of Italy. Delicious food and atmosphere Kid-friendliness: Nice bambini menu Food : 5/5 |
Amazing service, amazing food, and love the restaurant in general. We had the carbonara and fennel sausage pizza both were sooo good!! Fresh dough for both and so much flavour! Highly recommend!
Wonderful home made Italian pasta. Great atmosphere, food and service
Servers were all very kind. Food was not good. Pizza tasted like it was old and heated up. Pasta was very bland and overcooked. It was very very loud. Our food was served within 10 minutes of ordering, was not a nice dining experience.
The food was amazing. Came out quick and everything tasted fresh. Service was awesome. Our server came to check with us constantly and made sure everything was great. Will definitely check out this place again. Highly recommend visiting!
I would give 5 out of 5
Really delicious food and wine, cozy family restaurant vibe, lovely service!
Great food; great people. I truly look forward to each visit!
Their pasta is as good as their pizza and their pizza is really good. Need to try their brunch menu next
Really enjoyed the whole experience!
Everything was amazing, the food was really good and our waitress was really kind and friendly. Definitely well visit you again. Parking: Depending on the day you go for, you will find a lot or few spots to park on the street.
What an amazing little gem on the Shore. Absolutely amazing service and atmosphere of a small family restaurant. As a bit of a pizza aficionado, I can say one of the best Neapolitan style pizzas in the city. Dont know how that get that crust charred and crispy as if they were using a coal fired oven. Pastas perfectly done with robust flavours. Tiramisu is one of the best Ive had. Finally, friendly and highly professional staff.
Food was great and staff was very accommodating of my toddler Kid-friendliness: While this is not a kid-first environment, the bathrooms were large, there were clean high chairs and staff is great Food : 5/5 |
The vibe was perfect for a late dinner. The food was FANTASTIC. Best Italian food I ve had on the north shore. Coffee was excellent the restaurant was poppin! Great Friday night date spot.
So tough to find a good pizzeria in Vancouver and this place is excellent. Would definitely recommend!
Chocolate cake is great Dietary restrictions: Has gluten free menu Food : 5/5 |
Delicious as always! Great service! Thanks Gabbi and everyone else! Food
I dont normally leave reviews. But pretty mid overall. Pizza wasnt fresh maybe a day old or couple hours old. Atmosphere was so loud. Marketed as a trendy environment but overall cafeteria vibes.
It was all perfect
Great vibes for a weekend lunch. Wonderful services. Appetizers, pizzas, and pastas are all great. Will come back often :)
I ve been here a couple of times now and I m always impressed by the lovely atmosphere and awesome service. The people here are amazing and the food is too.
Pizza dough is great, good amount of topping but quality of topping could improve. Pasta were amazing. Food
Great little gem. Food is authentic, with great service. Very welcoming and comfortable. Everything we ordered was fantastic. We did the meal for 6 which was a great way to try different item with a family style serving. Will definitely come back.
Food is incredible. Fresh ingredients. Service is great and prices are super reasonable for what you get. Love coming here for dinner!
Excellent place to try some good freshly made pasta. The service was very good, they called us a few hours before the time of our reservation to move it because there was a large group of people so it could be uncomfortable for dinner, for which I appreciate that; Also, the girl who attended to us always had a very good disposition for service. The food was very tasty and in sufficient portions.
Fantastic dining experience. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in north Vancouver.
I had a great time at Farina for dinner. As it was a Friday night, the main dining area was quote loud, but the food was excellent, as was the service.
Been coming here and ordering from here for some time. The service is great, food is usually pretty good but this time it was very meh. The pasta was very small, almost an appetizer size with a sprinkle of meat and the pizza was lacking in flavour. We ve never had the pasta before, so nothing to compare in the past but it definitely wasn t worth $27 (worth $17 at best). Pasta was lacking flavour and was kinda watery tasting. The pizza is usually really good but this time you can see they skimped on the toppings and the sauce was almost non-existent. Happy hour beer was flat and for a 12oz, was still $7. Wish I took a picture of the food. Either way, probably won t go back. Wasn t worth $80-$90 for 2 people. Each had 1 drink and 1 plate of food.
My wife and I have just moved to North Vancouver, and a friend recommended that we try Farina a Legna. What a treat!! The service was exceptional as was the food. The crust on the Margherita Pizza was amazing, and the muscles were terrific - both were a great value on the happy hour menu. Combine the great food and and great service with an Aperol Spritz on their patio - and you have the recipe for a perfect evening. Highly recommended.
The food (kale salad, two kinds of pizza) was delicious and the service was just right - attentive without being intrusive.
Best italian restaurant you can find in North Vancouver, the atmosphere is cute and minimalist.
HONESTLY THE BEST BEEF RAGU I HAVE EVER HAD AND THE SAUSAGE PIZZA WAS TOO GOOD! Don t go anywhere else lol
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Did not rush us through the courses. Good value for your money.
Such a lovely evening! We were a group of seven and ordered olives, roasted vegetables, cavlo nero (a superb mix of kale, anchovies and roasted garlic) and a variety of pizzas which were all delicious (especially the arugula/prosciutto!). The room was bustling and yet the service was consistently on point. A gem in lower Lonsdale.
Amazing food and amazing service, I love Farina a Legna I think it is the best Italian food in town!!!!
Wonderful casual Italian kitchen. Simple. Delicious. Delightful.
This was our second time in this restaurant, first time we left disappointed, service was vague and pizza under average. This time Farina earned five star by great service, our server Brock was super helpful, with his help we were able to choose pasta that was delicious! His service was absolutely amazing and we will come back!
Really good place. Great food and even better service in a lovely setting. Food
I actually dined and dashed here I dined and then dashed to my phone to write this review! ;). Seeing that I have been eating food since I was a wee wippa, I know what good pizza is. And this wasn t that. This was great pizza, flavours soaring onto my pallet like an eagle once it s caught it west ward wind. Glorious i exclaim! Glorious! I m glad that eagle flew me to the front steps of this place!
They are calling Italian pizza but nothing to do with it. I m Italian and this tasteless pizza is definitely not Italian And the price is above average
Too noisy inside and pizza was ok but not the quality I expected for the $$$.
We got take out last night and was super excited but unfortunately the pizza was not good. Even though I arrived just at pick up time it was cold, there was barely any sauce on it and skimpy toppings. The crust and pizza dough were good (except for large burnt spots) but thats all that was good about it unfortunately.
Wonderful food. Great service. Definitely will return. A fun dining experience.
Not a pleasant experience. Zero customer service culture! I will never go here again.
Pizzas were great. We tried some combinations we had never heard of before and were very happy. Excellent kids menu.
Incredible service, amazing food, great atmosphere. Almost afraid to post this review as I never want to lose my spot!
I got take out, it was delicious. This might be my favourite pizza in vancouver. It was classic and flavourful.
We visited this place on a whim and able to be seated 1 hour before closing. Our waiter whose name I cant recall was incredible, very passionate about the food, and offered his opinion on combinations. We got a combo with Appy, pasta, and pizza and enjoy every bit of it with a couple glasses of wine.
Pastas were pretty tasteless and seeming made wrong. Would be fine if the price was lower but 34 and 26 were the costs per plate. Burrata was very small and basic, minimal flavor and bread was just ok. over $100 for below average italian food, appy, two dinners and 2 soft drinks. Service and atmosphere were great
Everything made for a really great experience! From the ambiance to the food to the generosity (we were celebrating our anniversary with our kiddos!) was lovely! Will be back again :) Kid-friendliness: Love their kids menu! Makes it easy for parents and totally reasonable price.
There have been remarks about the noise level, but its typical for an open space like this. Its wonderful to observe an open kitchen. However, the dining chairs are somewhat uncomfortable.
Lovely place for lunch and drinks, at very good prices.
Farina a Legna is such a lovely spot. You can tell the folks here are really proud of the food they serve. My partner and I had the 4 course dinner for two. They were able to accommodate for our vegan diet and every course was amazing. The atmosphere was great for a date night and we will definitely be back again soon!
I was having trouble with my phone so I could not access the website. Called to place an order and was asked to hold. After 2 minutes, I explained that I was having issues accessing the website, purely due to me having an old phone. I asked for some recommendations on pizza and got a lecture on the style of cuisine served at this establishment. I started asking about some meats for pizzas and again was told about the type of cuisine and how it is not regular/common. I still managed to order 2 large pizzas off what little info was given to me. I then asked for pasta recommendations and was told to call back after looking at the menu because there were customers in the lounge and this person on the phone didnt have the time to just list items off the menu when people are standing in the lounge waiting. But you made me wait first...I am sure they could too? Unless I am too regular/common to talk to you. Cancelled my order and would never eat here. Recommend all readers do the same.
I had family from out of town, last night of her trip, decided to eat at Farina, it was amazing food, felt like being in Italy where fresh food is served , fresh, authentic, in not too big portions so you can share many different plates entrees were sinfully good, followed by pasta and wine.., forget about the simple ambiance it s all about the Italian experience of mouth watering food
Our food was only mediocre meh, though the server and the atmosphere was good. But when they had the nerve to charged me $.50 for the tiny bit of milk to go with my $4.50 coffee, I knew no way I will return or recommend this place to anyone. It s just insulting, petty, and sneaky to try slip this in on a nearly $100 brunch.
This restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere, featuring a handful of tables arranged on the sidewalk patio. Our meal commenced with an appetizer served on a wooden board, highlighting delicious creamy burrata cheese, olives, chestnut-infused pesto, and delightfully crisp toast bread. However, the prosciutto failed to leave a lasting impression. Moving on to the main courses, the pizza dough showcased exceptional craftsmanship, boasting a thin, crisply baked crust. While the tomato sauce lacked a touch of salt, it still offered enjoyable tomato flavors with hints of garlic. Conversely, the squash pasta left something to be desired in terms of excitement. The ambiance was warm and lively, albeit slightly noisy, owing to the restaurants popularity on a bustling Friday evening. Prices are reasonable, and despite some minor criticisms, I would consider revisiting and recommending it, especially considering my companions positive impressions. The overall experience was enhanced by the friendly and efficient service.
Pizza was delivered undercooked and cold. Was supposed to be 4 cheese but no sign of anything but mozzarella. And to compare, I lived in Italy for 6 years and ate 500+ pizzas in that time. Prosciutto was so thin you could see through it Food : 3/5
Really nice pizza and pasta options in north Vancouver.
Saddened to leave a mixed review because I truly appreciated our great the service was and how much training must have gotten into having such great hospitality, but I can t say the food was good. Pizza dough was undercooked and the carbornara pasta, although not bad , was really nothing to be remembered by and not worth the price tag. I also didn t like how loud the room was but that s obviously not something that can be controlled. For that reason I wouldn t come back but thank you for the service nonetheless
Their breakfast pizza is amazing. Great deal for kids menu too
WOW as authentic as it gets.
Great pizza, casual environment, now more pasta options. Type of place to have a Prosecco before dinner and an Amaro after.
Best pizza I ve had in Canada
Amazing place and really good food!!! The prices are really affordable!
Delicious food, amazing customer service (can t say that enough), and great atmosphere. Best real Italian pizza in north shore!
Every dish served was well balanced and delicious. The service was cordial, lively and very pleasant. The restaurant strikes the right balance between an intimate and energetic ambiance.
Was out on the wait list and told to wait for a text to come in . 25-45 mins. Never got a text and decided to check in in person. Showed up and the waiter said he forgot to text us (1 hour later) and they closed. Was very excited to check this place out. Never coming back.
Everything you want in a local favorite restaurant, great food, great service and bustling atmosphere. Love this place.
Great food, good service and a great Friday night vibe! You get what you pay for unlike other places in lower lonsdale!
Love the food served with kindness
Beautiful cozy space, lovely decor. Delicious delicious food! Definitely one of my favourite pizza places in town, but the whole menu is amazing. Would recommend to anyone. My familys favourite fancy dinner spot. Food
Upfront want to see the food was fantastic, the wine delicious, that atmosphere enjoyable. HOWEVER, out celebrating friends becoming Canadian Citizens, during a brief moment of elated laughter and excitement, at a loud restaurant, we were asked to be quiet. This felt a bit inappropriate, people go out to celebrate these things.
Super cute place and great food. Would recommend the tiramisu for dessert
Great pizza, lots of vegetarian options, and not that much more expensive than your run of the mill joint like Dominoz or panago or whatever. Spend an extra couple dollars and eat good food here instead. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options here!
We always enjoy coming to this restaurant. The food is always good and our server last night was excellent.
Below average food, lots of flies in the restaurant and one wanted to dive right into our drink!
We enjoyed another evening here with delicious food. We have eaten here multiple times and tonight, the food was even more stand out than usual. We enjoyed the burrata with hazelnut pesto, fungi pizza and the roasted vegetables which were amazing. Our server was very friendly and had excellent recommendations. Can t wait to come back!
Long live ! 100% recommended! Kale Salad + best pizza in North Vancouver
Vibes were intimate but fun and vibrant. The vegan pizza was honestly incredible, and the appetizers were different in a good way. Loved the happy hour, it meant we could try more things. Will be coming back anytime Im in North Van! Vegetarian options: Several vegan and vegetarian options (at least three pizzas).
The kitchen closes at 9 pm on Saturday -not open until 10pm as per google and website - even for take out pizza! The restaurant replied and apologized for an earlier than usual close and invited us back. The pizza comes come highly recommended and I look forward to tasting it some time.
Service was great but I was disappointed with the pizza. I got one to eat in and the crust was rock hard. I didn t say anything as I thought it was a bad one, but then I ordered another one to go and the crust again was rock hard. I can t imagine that s the style but do correct me if I m wrong.
The service was excellent!! However, the food left a lot to be desired. The pizza crust was simply not great, certainly not classic Italian. As well the focaccia bread was abysmal. Overall, don t go here if you love classic Italian food. It is quite pricey too.
This is one of our favourite places on the North Shore. The food is always outstanding and the service consistently exceptional, even when theyre busy. The fragrance of the wood-fired pizza oven makes me hungry long before I even sit down. See you again soon. Erik
Im deeply disappointed with the service I received. After calling at 4:30pm to confirm availability for a party of three at 5pm, I was assured there would be availability and it would be no issues at all. However, upon arrival with my family, including a toddler, we were told there was no space despite many empty tables available . When I asked about this, the staff member informed me that all tables were reserved at 6. Despite explaining that I had spoken to someone on the phone, they said it wasn t them and refused to accommodate us even though I reassured them that we would be done by 6. This level of service is very disappointing
Sadly the pizza wasn t good at all. The pizzas were very dry with barely any sauce and the margharita had so little cheese that some slices had nothing on it and dried out. The pizza was also very burnt too! It was just unfortunate because we paid $50 for two pizzas as shown in the pictures.
One of our favourite places for special dinners. Incredible / authentic food, great service! So happy they open earlier to accommodate families with hungry little ones before 5:00!
Delicious food, drinks, very attentive service. Loved every little detail about this place.
Great and attentive service! Room is also lovely, laid back and casual but with the character. Food is good: loved the lamb rigatoni and kale salad!
My go to place for business dinners, friends celebrations, and out-of-town visitors! The food and service never disappoints.
It was a splendid experience and the food was very good Kid-friendliness: Very nice for my children Food : 4/5 |
One of my favourite neighborhood spots, the food is ALWAYS delicious, and the service always friendly. They accommodated our party of 6 tonight and went above and beyond. Highly recommend !
Amazing birthday dinner for my mom. Kitchen brought out a complimentary bolognese for us on top of excellent service. I ve been a few times before, but this time in particular absolutely blew us away. Food was amazing, great spot in lower Lonsdale, highly recommend. We will be back, thank you so much for tonight Farina staff.
Best Italian food outside Italy and very friendly service.
NY dinner a few days early. We love this place. Simple friendly atmosphere. Nothing pretentious and obvious the efforts are put into both the quality of staff and serving tasty food. Reasonably priced and defiantly will be back. Staff very engaged and attentive. If you want a fun evening out for a date, with friends or by self give this place a try. You won t be disappointed. We defiantly will be back for a third time soon.
Finally got a chance to re-visit in person after getting takeout many times. Interior just as charming and service just as great. Didnt see any infused oils, but our pizza finocchiona was so tasty - loved it. Pasta prosciutto e zucca was a bit of a miss (raw garlic, where prosciutto??). Definitely coming back. ----- October 2019: New to the neighbourhood (in the space formerly occupied by Il Castello), Farina a Legna has authentic pizza and pastas. Wood-fired oven, pizzas served with infused oils. Delicious and very popular. Had an excellent server, overall great experience!
Love this spot for a romantic date! The salad and pizza was tasty. Had good service and happy memories
Food was as good as the other location in downtown. They had a great deal for three courses you should take advantage of.
Great music, service, and food! Came here for our NYE dinner and everything was amazing.
Absolutely loved this place! Best service we ve had for a very long time. Sarah made our visit more than special. Food is way better than I had in Italy! Pasta homemade, sauce to die for! And the pesto and bread and desserts all homemade and delicious! Great work on staff picking and amazing food! Will definitely come back and I highly recommend it, 5 overall!
Our absolute favourite place to eat in North Vancouver...the service, the food and the atmosphere are amazing...thank you Delicious!!! Kid-friendliness: Super kind and inviting for kids...
Dined in on a quiet Sunday evening... service was excellent, attentive and friendly. Our server Josh was quick to offer suggestions and chat, very welcoming. The pizza was great, what wed been looking for with wood-fire pizza while visiting North Van. My partner also ordered one of the homemade pasta dishes, and he said it was delicious. We both enjoyed their pizzas tomato sauce. Worth a visit, good prices.
Great service. Good pizza and pastas. They make a cheeseless pizza for our toddler with a dairy allergy which I appreciate. It s a go to spot for us!
The best pizza in North Vancouver
Excellent food! Service was warm and friendly. Its a little loud, but whos talking when the food is this good!
Girl with the septum piercing is rude, could easily ruin your night
The pizza was ok, The service was good and the place looks cute and cozy Food
small space but always busy better to reserve when you want to go or you need to wait a long time. Very cute and nice staff there. perfect pizza and spaghetti speial home made oil. Better than any other Italian restraunt around. will go more often to taste other dishes.
We had incredible meals, delicious drinks (an espresso negroni was one of the drink specials, so good!) and amazing service. From start to finish, the team at Farina a Legna was kind, attentive and helpful. I cannot recommend the food enough - we started with the polpette al forno, my fiancé had the Calabrese pizza and I had the carbonara. To finish it off we had the best tiramisu we ve had the pleasure of trying. We can t wait to come back and try everything else they have to offer.
Dont miss this place!!
One of my favourite spots in North Van. The staff also accommodated a large group take-out order (18 people). Organized and on time!
Completely blown away buy this place. Went to buy their dough after 5 or more failed attempts at making pizza from home. The nicest lady who sold me it went to the back and asked the chefs cooking if she could spin out a dough and gave me a personal lesson!! This is small business at its finest and huge shout out to her and this place
Not very special about the place or the food quality!! Although staff are so good at marketing!! The point is, after many years tasting Italian cousin, I failed to find anything special about the quality of the food in this place. Staff are relatively good. Nothing very special about the atmosphere. Despite what I mentioned above, which is my honest feedback, Ill continue my support private business /restaurants like Farina a Lenga. There is a lot of room to improve their quality.
Pizzas are excellent Pastas are rather small Service is hit or miss Atmosphere is great Wheelchair accessibility: Only wheelchair accessible if you are willing to sit outside (depends on weather)
A small space that is frequently full with patrons. Best to reserve a table; however, we lucked out with 2 spots at the bar with views of the kitchen and pizza oven. The cavolo nero (kale salad) was my fave on this visit.
Good food and good service
Always awesome!!
Worst customer service I ever seen. Will not go back...and I will tell my story to anyone that thinks about going there.
Such a lovely taste of true Italian flare! The rustic thin crust pizzas are just so authentic, the toppings delicious and zesty, and the burrata appetizer board a must-have! What an amazing landmark in North Vancouver
Disappointed is an understatement. The carbonara we got was tasteless, its like they forgot that Pecorino goes in the egg mixture sauce because it was bland and tasted like nothing. They put 2 tiny pieces of Guinciale on the pasta. Why even bother, just dont put any in at all. When we got there, we tried ordering an Aperol Spritz but it was in a bottle from a grocery store. It wasnt even a real cocktail, yet they charged for $14 as if it was a real cocktail. I know the brand in the bottle, its just chemicals and sugar. No proescco or Aperol in it. And to make things worse, the waitress had the guts to tell me it was more authentic than making a real aperol spritz. I was born in Italy and grew up in Italy, I can ensure you some chemicals in a bottle is not more authentic than an Aperol Spritz. So I ordered a $14 negroni and it came inside a 4 oz glass filled with ice. I finished it in one sip. I know with inflation everything has gone up, and its tough out there, but if youre going to treat paying customers like this just close your restaurant down. Youre ripping people off.
Came to this cozy little Italian restaurant as a group of 5 for a late lunch. We all ordered different pizzas and their special of the day. I personally ordered the classic Margherita pizza with roasted garlic as an add on and it was absolutely delicious. The crust was done just right and the garlic went so well with the pizza. The service was impeccable and I loved the cute decor of the restaurant. Will definitely be coming back to try their pastas and their tiramisu as they looked so good!
Fantastic thin crust.
The cutest little Italian spot. The ambience is great and the food is delicious. As celiac, they have good options. I wish the pasta wasnt chickpea... It doesnt make it feel authentic Italian. There are MANY amazing GF pasta substitutes from local Italian stores nowadays. Also hoping for GF pizza soon :)
Delicious and overly priced wood fire pizzas.. I loved all items we ordered but I do not think the price is justified. Especially when there are similar options offered by competition in the neighborhood Food
I came here because of the good reviews/best crust for a pizza i v tried in Vancouver so far/nothing likr it around ottawa area! Gonna comr back for the pasta next time
This amazing restaurant was probably the culinary highlight of our week in North Vancouver. Everything was amazing! The pasta was fresh, the proteins were all superbly cooked and seasoned. Coming here made me wish I could visit weekly!
Absolutely fantastic. Thank you again guys. Wonderful fresh delicious yummy Italian food. Thank you
Friendly service; tasty dishes and great value
This is such an amazing place .Food wow .The staff i do not think I saw such a friendly and pleasant staff anywhere in Vancouver they are excellent .If I could give 10 stars I would. I was feeling like I was somewhere in Europe. If you have a chance this is one of the must places you have to visit. Big big BRAVO great job you guys!!!!!
Wonderful authentic Italian! Pricey but good
Delicious food
We had a great experience, the waitress Christiana was amazing, was our first time there and she offered us so many tasty foods and also the best tiramisu ever I highly recommend to try this place especially in North Vancouver that we don t have that many unique place like Farina.
Enjoyed the pizzas here quite a lot, was busy so we waited a while to get seated but overall a good mea
Cozy place to hung out
Super cute, and delicious. Definitely too expensive for frequent visits, but it s lovely as a splurge
Excellent flavors, staff - super nice
Very tasty food with good prices and friendly service. Nice wine selection as well. There is parking behind the building in case someone needs it Ill comeback for sure.
Great atmosphere, fabulous staff and amazing food! Will be back as soon as we return to North Van
Great atmosphere, great service, and GREAT food. The pizza is incredible.
Enjoyed the pizza and pasta. Busy yet cozy atmosphere.
Very nice and cozy atmosphere with excellent food and great personal. I definitely recommend this place to everyone!!!
We are so grateful to find this gem in North Vancouver while we were there for business. The environment was intimate and inviting. The food and wine were beyond excellent and the staff were so lovely. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a true Italian experience. Cannot wait to return.
We went for a anniversary date night because it was our first date location. The food is fairly consistent and they have a decent happy hour and the set menu for $80.00 allows for a nice value. The staff were all very attentive, but you do need to book reservations if you hope to get in, as it is a small venue and quite intimate and casual. I have had the beef short rib ragu (one my favs,) the carbonara, the burrata (make this a staple on the menu please,) both the prosciutto and arugula pizza and the calabrese pizza (a bit salty,) and also the pea sauce pasta. My go-tos are the burrata with pesto and prosciutto as an add on. The house red wine is good as is the tiramisu. The pricing is on the higher side, however feel like the quality makes up for it. My one suggestion - house bread would be nice to offer and I wish the staff had made us feel special by doing something for our anniversary (most restaurants do.) It is not a deal breaker but just a nice touch. Im sure we will be back soon!
Friday reservation at 5:45. Restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly. Server took orders from each person but did not explain they were serving large family sized dishes. We expected individual pizzas so ended up with way too much food. One person ordered a pasta dish but was served a pizza. The restaurant did knock that off the bill and replace it with the requested dish, so no complaint about that. We found the dining experience uncomfortable because of the noise level. My decibel metering app measured over 90 a number of times and an average in the high 80s. Even the teenagers with us complained about the sound level. Ingredients are good quality but my pizza crust was made soggy with too much white sauce. Service was fine. The young people with us heard a continuous high pitched sound which they think was coming from an air-mover or compressor. It wouldnt bother older folks whove lost sensitivity to high frequencies. Parking: Good luck finding street parking but there is a lot behind the restaurant between 2nd and 3rd.
We absolutely love Farina a Legna!! We were there on October 27th and it was very busy. All of the staff were working so hard to ensure every table was well taken care of. The atmosphere is fun, family style but it was a little noisier than usual last Friday night. However, that is all part of the fun and success of this restaurant. The pizzas are 10/10!!
You get what you pay for
I had an amazing experience at Farina a Legna in Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver. The service was exceptional, and the pizza and pasta were absolutely delicious. I couldnt get enough of their creamy burrata! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a fantastic Italian dining experience.
Portions not huge, but very tasty.

The most amazing little Italian restaurant you will ever find! The food is absolutely delicious. We go often and still cant get enough of Farina! Highly recommend the burrata & bread, carbonara pasta, funghi pizza and tiramisu. They even have my favorite wine, Lambrusco! Not only was the food awesome, so are the people! The staff are attentive and friendly and provide a welcoming and enjoyable ambiance.
