3rd location of Green Leaf Sushi
Phenomenal service. Waitress came over and ask each time new dish was delivered how was the food. They also refill the water 5 times without us asking.
Came here for the first time - got their aburi platter - 6 rolls, 38 pieces, very filling. We liked it all except for the saba. The shrimp with pesto sauce is interesting, our favourite is the yukke tuna. All the rest are pretty standard aburi. We also ordered tako wasa - not enough wasabi.
Best sushi on the North Shore! This place is always such a treat, and I can’t stop raving about it. Their salmon and avocado truffle oshi is my absolute go-to—I would eat it multiple times a week if I could. Their party trays are perfect for larger groups and are reasonably priced for the quality. The restaurant is in a beautifully restored heritage house, and the staff are always so welcoming. I love dining in, but I often order online too—it’s fantastic no matter how you enjoy it! We need more places like Green Leaf on the North Shore. Don’t walk—run!
The taste is as good as always, but perhaps due to inflation, the fish fillets are getting smaller. It might taste even better with a bit more sauce.
Flavourful aburi sushi, A+ plating/presentation, but far too much oil is used, and the fish is over seared on top to the point where the entire piece of fish is cooked.
Oh me oh my, what a spot. The oshi here is tremendous - and incredibly affordable for good sushi. The quantities are generous (I’ve never seen more tuna in a tuna roll than I did here at Green Leaf, and I’ve had a loooot of tuna rolls…), the service is warm and generous too. We also had the avocado salad, not pictured here, but was fresh and flavourful as a starter! Was filled to the brim with avocado. Again, they proved they’re not skimping out in ingredient quantity and quality!
Recently, a friend and I had the pleasure of dining at Green Leaf Sushi, and it was an experience worth sharing. Opting for their Signature Aburi Platter, we embarked on a culinary journey that left us thoroughly impressed. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The sleek yet comfortable ambiance set the stage for a memorable evening. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Now, let's talk about the sushi. Each piece on the platter was a delightful fusion of flavors and textures. The expertly seared fish added a unique depth that complemented the freshness of the ingredients. It was evident that the chefs took great pride in their craft, and it showed in every bite. What truly stood out about our visit was the perfect balance of sophistication and approachability. The restaurant manages to deliver top-notch sushi without any pretense, making it an ideal spot for both casual diners and sushi enthusiasts alike. In conclusion, our experience at Green Leaf Sushi exceeded our expectations on every level. From the impeccable food to the welcoming atmosphere, it's a dining destination that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Whether you're in the mood for a casual night out or a special occasion, Green Leaf Sushi delivers an unforgettable experience.
No complaints and perfect. It was our first time to visit and have a lunch. Taste and interior were awesome. We ordered Aburi platter. It was more ideal for 3 to 4 person. We brought half to home. Next time for sure, I will tip more. Sorry for being cheap today. If I tip afterward, I would pay more than I actually tipped today.
If you are craving for MSG, this is the place for you.
Great aburi sushi and atmosphere
One of the best aburi sushi places in Vancouver.
One my nice experience to have shushi . Their service is so fast and friendly !
Excellent service.
Really nice spot. I was struggling with the menu and was assisted very politely. I ve never had sushi so fresh and delicious. You are attended to perfectly when you re there. They opened the door for me and welcomed me and made sure I always had water. Cozy, friendly, professional. Really happy I came here.
Amazing little place !!
BEST sushi in the North Shore !
Very good spot! We were here for lunch. Super friendly service too!
Horrible service by the male server
Nice staff and very welcoming fast service with a very yummy sushi thanks Green leaf.. Vegetarian options: I think it has some options Parking: Can be find Kid-friendliness: Nice nd cool area even for kids Wheelchair accessibility: There is table outside to sit
This is my first time. I have been eating pressed(oshizushi) sushi for many times from different restaurants. This is a store that mainly sells pressed sushi, but the main sushi rice was sticky and not tasty. Since most of the customers are foreigners, maybe they dont pay much attention to the sushi rice?
Green Leaf is a modern Japanese restaurant. The sushi uses cheese and even olives, plus a lot of grilling. It is quite delicious when you eat it, but after eating it, you cant help but miss traditional sushi. Although the taste of this restaurant is fully qualified, I will not put it on my list when I want to eat sushi in the future. If you are looking for a restaurant to have a quality-guaranteed lunch, you may think of it, and it happens to be nearby. This Green Leaf restaurant belongs to modern Japanese food. Sushi uses cheese and even olives, coupled with a lot of roasting, it is still quite delicious when eaten, but after eating, you cant help but miss the traditional sushi. Although the taste of this restaurant is completely qualified, I will not put it on the list when I want to eat sushi in the future. If I want to find a restaurant for a quality lunch, I may think of it, if I happens to be nearby.
Very cute little place. The food was amazing and the staff was very! welcoming and friendly. 5/5
It was my first visit to this place, which my friends recommended for its delicious oshi. They were right it was juicy, hot, and offered a variety of flavors. My favorite ones were the shrimp oshi.
Food was very very good. The building is an older building so it was very warm. The menu is on the smaller side but that means they do what they offer very well. All the rolls were made on order, not premade then sliced. Portion size was very good.
Absolutely amazingly delightful sushi place set in a beautiful old building. All sets are made fresh to order so can take a little longer but definitely worth the wait.
Great cozy sushi place. One of the best house rolls!
Really delicious aburi! The restaurant was quite hot on a summer s day, but given it s a small space with an open air kitchen, it s not a surprise. Their aburi platter is really fun to share. Looking forward to going back.
Delicious. Fresh. An absolute must on the North shore.
Excellent!
Yup! That was a winner. The food took a while to come but it was busy, so that was okay. I also noticed how great the quality control was of the dishes were that were coming out. The attentiveness to details were obvious. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Amazing food - great spot to eat in as well!
I ordered for here, but was served in single use plastic tray and a paper cup of water. When I inquired, they said that was all they had. If I had known how wasteful this business was, I would have went somewhere else for lunch.
Specialize in oshi sushi. Delicious. I ll go back for sure. No AC though hence the 4 stars for atmosphere.
Scallop oshi and unagi oshi are very yummy
Incredible place! Excellent food and incredible value. Only restaurant where I feel like Im getting value for money. Delicious high quality sushi with real salmon!
Best Sushi in NV
Delicious and fresh sushi. Highly recommended.
This place was absolutely amazing! Every part of our experience was outstanding and our sushi tasted the freshest- melted into your mouth! The peach Sake was really yummy! This was an unreal value for a sushi restaurant for the quality of food.
Excellent place, excellent oshi. We love it.
Food: 11/10 every single time > try the avocado truffle 100% Service: always absolutely amazing and so warm and kind. I would say honestly one of the best service I ever received in Canada Atmosphere: quaint cute and clean, perfect little spot so calming I love you green leaf! (1000000x better than point grey location)
Great food, came here for lunch with a friend and everything was so fresh. Their aburi is amazing.
Love it just the best
Wandering in to this tiny gem made my day. The open door atmosphere and beautiful finish work inside made great food and service even better! Music was spot on, but dont ask me to describe it--it just worked! Maybe it was just me, but I was feeling nostalgic to pre-smart phone days, wandering in to a joint without having looked it up beforehand and having a beautiful dinner. The neighbors bringing the staff free doughnuts was genuine. Lol
Since when did you add sashimi and nigiri to the menu? So glad you did! I love it. Best selection of aburi in Vancouver, and the freshest sushi in lower Lonsdale. Reasonably priced and impressive quality and experience. I have converted to GL, from my regular go-to. My girlfriend and I come here to share a bunch of dishes, some sake and soju too. Lovely atmosphere and its so perfect for a couple friends to come together. Highly recommend dining in for the experience. Its a special local spot with only a few tables and seats to dine-in. Recommend: - Snow crab oshi
Holy Spirit. Its been forever a place hasnt suprised me like this one. AMAZING. Muy bueno. My orders are usually simple. But cant fathom calling what I got simple. Buenísimo. My order was Salmon avocado roll, miso soup and 2 nigiri salmon. Chef Ps: suggestion. Instead of water maybe offer tea as included dine in treat.
good tiny little place. Good sushi, but just a bit salty.
this place was really amazing! Manager treated us super nicely and friendly, these guys also have pictures for the menu(not for all positions, but still better than nothing) :3 So don t hesitate to visit them! Food
!Yummy! !Délicieux! ! n ngon!Vkusno!
It was our first time coming here and we are hoping to become regulars! The food is to die for!! I was not a sushi person but I guess I never actually found one I liked until now. The service, the atmosphere and the food are top notch. I highly recommend this place.
Lovely food and lovely people.
We love this little sushi place tucked off Lonsdale. Brick and wood in what used to be a photographers studio, it s unique for a sushi place.
The Green Leaf in North Vancouver is a solid choice for sushi. The service is efficient with an order and pay upfront system, and while I was initially unsure about portion sizes, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous servings. The food quality is excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy, perfect for dining alone or with a few friends. The staff are welcoming and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. I d recommend this spot for anyone looking for good sushi in a comfortable setting. I ll definitely be back.
I debated if this review wouldnt be a perfect 5. The food was incredible, but some of the oshi were not very sushi like. The flavours of some of the food was more in line with an Italian restaurant, but that was our fault as we ordered oshi with basil and truffle. Id definitely go back in a heartbeat!
If I could do 6 starts I would. Best sushi I ve ever tried. Amazing staff, amazing food, amazing vibe. Must visit in North Vancouver.
Aburi style sushi was a new concept for me. I m from the states (Miami, FL) and now living in Seattle the past year. This place was exceptional. Delicious in every way, and such a cool concept. Great ambiance, atmosphere, taste, all of it. I ordered 6 different kinds. Every one was amazing. Everyone was super nice as well which is always a plus! Thanks all! Will definitely be back soon.
A small sushi spot located in lower Lonsdale. It was our first time at Green Leaf. We ended up trying their special platter because it has a variety of options for a decent price. Overall the sushi was pretty good, but maybe needed a little more flavour. Something was missing but we would love to give it another try, and explore the menu. The sushi was beautiful though!
Food was decent but not super tasteful, and unfortunately those who ate the beef in our party got pretty bad food poisoning
Green Leaf Sushi in North Vancouver has the best presentation, tasting and quality out of all the other Green Leaf Sushi restaurants! Ordered from another Green Leaf location and the oshi sushi were falling apart when trying to pick it up to eat. The other location did not care for presentation either as the sushi were mushed . This made me realize that this location is excellent. Keep up the good work!
I love this place a lot! Literally blended into the vibe of the North Shore aesthetic as it is tucked into a very vintage little shoppe, that you can barely see in the Lower Lonsdale community. The only thing you can spot is that little sign hanging right outside the window. This is one of those places, if you know, you know it is a Green Leaf Sushi. I was in the Lower Lonsdale area, because I work along the North Shore now, and had to come drop by for a light lunch before going back to work. I searched it up on Yelp where to eat, and this was the spot. I parked and then walked along the street, passing by this place a couple times and couldnt find it until I looked up and saw that sign. LOL. Yup, it is Green Lean Sushi alright!! I walked into the restaurant and was greeted with a great big smile from the person at the front. The guy at the front was extremely nice and welcoming. I told him it was hard to decide because I have always love the Green Leaf Sushi in K-town Burnaby area a lot. And I told him I have always love their Mackerel Oshi and I always ordered, but I wanted something different that day. I ordered their Aburi Tobiko Roll, and my god it was delicious!! It is different in how they made this version of the Aburi Tobiko Roll, because they have to roll it first in order to then aburi the top of the sushi. The best part was the little japeleno at the top of it to make each bite just a little bit more fruity and spicy. Amazing!! On top of that, they gave me a small side of cooked Mackerel as a side piece! When I told them how much I love mackerel!! I was so happy! It really made my visit so special for sure!! And yes, I will be back sometime in the future bringing co-workers for some sushi!! But to be honest, the best part is just the restaurant itself. It is so beautifully aesthetic to the Vintage North Shore style it fits perfectly. I love the little lights and their decor. It wins for me in every aspect. And of course, they play KPOP on their speakers, I was dancing to Twice and eating my sushi. Perfect atmosphere for sure!! Love the place, and will be back for sure!!
Really good sushi spot!
Delicious!
Outstanding oshi!! Pretty reasonable prices. Nice staff. Cozy atmosphere. Will be back for sure.
Best aburi on the North Shore - presentation, taste, quality, location and building are all on point. Love Salmon nigiri, Tobiko Aburi and Atlantic Salmon Aburi. Would be perfect if the portions were larger. Even after spending $30+/per person, we were still not full. Also, adding real plants and greenery (not just the artificial ones) would up the ambiance even more. The building has so much more potential.
My favourite place for aburi sushi! Will absolutely ordered again.
Taste delicious. Sad thing.is Im the only one person can eat seafood in my family, I wish there is a $30-40 small platters option. Only $65 -$75 options.. Food
I find it funny people are saying this place is pricey because in comparison to other oburi sushi in Van this place is an excellent value. Had the oburi platter and it was 10/10, the salmon oshi is melt in your mouth good. This location is quite small, not a lot of seating but would be good for takeout. Staff were really friendly and overall was a good experience.
Gorgeous space and super welcoming staff! Ordered the Lolo platter for takeout and both the presentation and taste were out of this world! I typically only eat veggie options so this was out of my comfort zone but every roll was delicious.
i ordered the lolo platter and it was absolutely delightful. usually i m hesitant to explore new rolls, but this was the perfect place to get out of my comfort zone! the atmosphere was nice and cozy, and the staff were so welcoming. amazing experience all around :)
It is a different experience from eating sushi. In a very pleasant environment. The staff is very attentive and friendly. It is a small but comfortable place.
Amazingly fresh and tasty oshi sushi choices. The staff are super nice!
A nice addition to the neighbourhood. The food was great, and the service was excellent.
Great sushi, wonderful staff, lovely neighbourhood spot.
Wow, it was so delicious!!
If youre looking for aburi sushi, this if it! Great option to choose from, delicious food. The interior is small, its not really meant to be a restaurant, a few seats and only one table with four seats. I just wish that when they blowtorch, they used charcoal to give it that missing smokiness. No alcoholic drinks. Vegetarian options: A few options to choose from such as the avocado Kid-friendliness: Yes, very friendly spot Wheelchair accessibility: No steps on indoor levels
Extremely high-quality aburi sushi. I wont go anywhere else. So many other sushi restaurants near lower Lonsdale are very dirty and have been shut down constantly for safety-code violations - after I got food poisoning from one of them last summer, I only go to Green Leaf, because Im willing to pay a little bit more for higher quality and cleanliness. The staff are super professional and very friendly, and often times they will give you complimentary rolls! :)
Really enjoyed visiting place, had the tasting platter for 2 and we were greatly surprised by how good everything was! The service was kind and approachable. I will definitely come back!
Amazing place, really beautiful
I can t even remember when I first started dining at green leaf sushi in point grey, so I was glad to see they opened up a location here in North Vancouver. This location however is not a full service restaurant, and they only offer aburi oshi sushi. Every roll was between $13-20. We picked the Basil ebi prawn, aburi tobiko roll, yukke tuna, and spicy tuna. Out of the 4 rolls, we liked the basil ebi the most, followed by the tobiko roll, then yukke tuna and finally spicy tuna. The basil prawn had a really nice kick of basil but worked really well with the torched mayonnaise sauce. The tobiko roll was half torched so you got two different textures of tobiko. Seating inside was limited but we got our food quickly as it wasn t very busy. The decor was very nice, with a very industrial chic look. As it s self served, you choose the rolls you want, pay at the cashier and then your food is served to you. You also have to get your own napkins, utensils and soy sauce. All the chefs in there were quite friendly though, and they offered everyone kimchi salad at the end. I think they should put that on the menu because it was delicious. Very happy to see they expanded their operation over the bridge, would like to see more menu selection in the future though.
Friendly service, great atmosphere, and delicious food!
Small, quaint restaurant cafeteria style where you pay and order first. Workers are extremely welcoming and friendly - they are observant and will service you based on what they suspect you need. Prices are fair. We had the special where we got to try every oishi for ~$26. Recommended!
Delicious and freshly made! Every bite was flavorful!
Very cosy, small. Friendly staff. Inviting atmosphere. Food was excellent. Had the sampler and there wasn t a thing I didn t like. I don t have a bad word to say about this place.
I absolutely love this place. The sushi is amazing (as expected) but the customer service is out of this world. Theyre very personable, friendly and really make the atmosphere of the restaurant cozy and cute. Its an overall 10/10 place for food, atmosphere and people.
It was my first time visiting that restaurant and I got blown away by the taste and quality of the sushis we had! Im usually pretty classic in terms of sushis and yet I gave it a try by ordering all the sushis they make. Really good, well balanced and often surprising, I cant express how happy I was with that dinner! ++ : smily and attentive staff, good music, super intimistic location (I dont think it fits more than 4 people). Its the perfect place for a cute moment.
Nice people, good service, and great space! Definitely worth a try if you like Aburi sushi.
Great sushi place in Northshore. Great service
When I first put a piece of Atlantic salmon sushi in my mouth, my eyes were wide open and my hand formed and the other hand was Oh my god, the foods were amazing!!! I hardly express how good it is. You must come and experience. We had miso soup, as good as what I usually had, salmon and tuna, and my favourite is salmon. It is just way better than I expected. The place even offered us raw octopus with seaweed and that was sick too and the beef, I forgot its menu name but god, that was soooo freaking tasty. But even beyond the high quality of foods, I loooooove the service here. The order lady is just soooo sweet and lovely and really made me feel great. The cooks are amazing. Its location is just a few minutes walk from the Quay. So convenient. The place is really cozy and nicely decorated. Everything was just perfect. We arrived late, like 45mins till close but I felt extremely welcomed and had a delicious and lovely dinner. Highly recommend!!!!
The most ostentatious sushi I ve ever had, this place is known for their pressed sushi. The 3 people working here made me feel so very welcome. Will definitely come back when I visit next time. I wish y all had a location at home in Dallas. I know there s plenty of sushi joints in northern Vancouver it s the Pacific Northwest but you have to try this place out. I got the house roll, miso soup, and a 4 pc of nigiri
I would give 10/10 to both sushi and people there. Fantastic experience in Green Leaf NV.
The food is so delicious and the service is incredible! Definitely recommend :)
Yes. Yes. Yes. A resounding YES! Had the Saba oshi and sockeye salmon oshi. Both excellent! Even their miso soup and wakame salad tasted extra. Would definitely recommend.
The most incredible aburi and oshi sushi. This sushi is the melt in your mouth type - even the wild salmon sashmi. Great flavours, and also excellent service! You pay before you get your sushi however the servers still continue providing top service.
Nice addition to the growing sushi scene here in North Vancouver. Its a different experience from any other sushi place that I highly recommend trying. On the pricey side but you get what you pay for and that is incredible, delicious sushi and wonderful service.
Honestly so delicious. Highly recommend this spot.
I genuinely love that theyve expanded and that we dont have to drive all the way to Kits for their sushi! It was great and the service is wonderful super friendly!
Tried this place for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed. Kind service and great food!
Just had an incredible dining experience at Green Leaf Sushi in North Vancouver! The Aburi (flame-seared) sushi is truly a game changer, offering a delicious harmony of smoky aroma and delicate taste. The cozy, stylish atmosphere and amazing customer service made our visit even more enjoyable. Located conveniently near the Sea bus station, this gem offers a unique and delectable sushi experience you dont want to miss. Definitely a must-visit for sushi lovers!
Extremely expensive. We spent $65 on a snack basically. It was pretty good, but there are definitely better places on the North Shore. The staff was very friendly!
Great service!! Staff were attentive when they presented our food. Of course, the sushi wont be enough to fill you up, but theres an ice cream shop right next door. The interior is very instagram-friendly.
Such a beautiful design
I m impressed every time I go here. Very cozy atmosphere, staff are always welcoming, and the food is always great. Eaten many different times both to-go and dine-in. Always consistently tasty and surprisingly filling. I almost always get Oshi, it s just so good and unique. Can t recommend it enough for a quick and tasty sushi meal.
The food was incredible and the staff were so nice. All the oshis were great, but I particularly liked the mackerel. 100% recommend if you want some really great quality food and fish.
Love the food and the people at Green Leaf! The food is incredibly high in quality, taste, craftsmanship. The team is so friendly and they truly make this place a neighbourhood gem.
The Aburi here is delicious! Nice interior, atmosphere, service, and food. Definitely recommend this restaurant when you re in the area and in need of good food!
Absolutely amazing!! Fantastic food, great drinks and excellent service! I highly suggest and will be back.
Sockeye Salmon and Ebi were tasty
Unique sushi restaurant that specializes in different varieties of pressed sushi. Taste was good and reasonable prices as well.
Very good sushi first time trying press and was pleasantly surprised, a few sushi types have a jalapeño on top and when I asked to not have it they were very good and friendly about it and did without. All three rolls that we got were delicious and looked great! Dining area was a bit tight but was nice and unique :)
Good concept focusing oshi/aburi sushi! We tried 7 different kinds and they all tasted good! It s just that flavour overpowers natural fish flavour sometimes you can t tell what fish you are eating . My favorites were saba oshi and avocado and truffle oshi. My kids liked salmon one.
It was my first trying Green Leaf and it was so great! An incredible miso soup, wonderful oshi with super fresh fish and super friendly team. I will for sure be back! Happy to have them in our hood.
Very kind and attentive service. The blowtorched sushi is yummy and beautiful. The view from the washroom was surprisingly incredible wish I lived in Vancouver sometimes so I could come back here more often :)
Scallops roll and service is amazing!!
This restaurant is ridiculously delicious. I ve been twice now, and I actually cannot get over the quality of the sushi. We ve now had the Atlantic oshi twice, and the Yukke oshi, as well as a single toro negiri Oh. My. God. The staff are incredibly friendly and very happy to chat, the atmosphere and location are ideal! Please go here!
Headed to the local hot spot in the neighbourhood. The service turned us off so we decided to give Green Leaf a try. Eureka outstanding in every way! Food
Best Aburi Sushi in North Vancouver! Theire staff are extremely nice. The place looks amazing too! Food
Totally recommended! Quality of the food amazing! Customer Service as polite and friendly as possible!! Location BEAUTIFUL! We tried torched oshis number 2,8,12 and loved how wonderful and fresh they taste! Atmosphere well decorated with attention to details and big windows which allows indirect daylight brightening the whole store! Once again, I loved the staff and their positive attitude
Nice little quaint place with THE best Truffle Avocado Oshi!
Go to miku instead
Very good sushi. The staff is fast and working hard but its usually crowded and theyre doing their best. The place is very small but with very nice atmosphere
Great place for take out sushi - their aburi is certainly best in North Van
Consistently great food, service, and value.
Classy jazz, cozy atmosphere, and great sushi. Highly recommend.
The food looks better than its taste. There was 6 type of sushi there but I only liked one of them. The box is fancy but very unnecessary and wasteful. The restaurant is small so it has limited seats. My friends and I chose to sit outside without realizing they won t serve water/tea as the table outside isn t theirs.
The sushi here is amazing! The flavour just melts in your mouth! Fresh taste and does not have a lingering fishy taste. You will definitely want more after you try one. Highly recommend to order at least two sets Instagram: @nikkzandatsu @alyssamaq
The seared Aburi salmon and spicy tuna sushi were special. Not like your every day Sushi roll; never had anything like it in all my food travels. Even the Wakame seaweed salad was great, no fishy smell or taste at all. Kind, attentive staff. Small interior with limited seating but the table turnover seems fast.
It s the best sushi I ve ever had
The food was extremely good. The salads were large and delicious. The oshi was also really good, and the staff were attentive and polite.
I was so happy to find this restaurant in Nolben! I fell in love with Aburi s charm after seeing it for the first time~ All the staff were friendly and the store atmosphere was very pretty. The beef tataki melted in my mouth, and the tofu salad was so clean and light! The kids ate it and were amazed at how delicious it was. Crab Aburi is also popular with children!! The unagi aburi was definitely the best and the aburi roll was also very delicious~~ It was a happy brunch that I would never forget during my trip to Vancouver! May you prosper~
Its cozy and the menu is *chefs kiss*. I love oshi and aburi style and they have delicious combinations. I have been back repeatedly for the basil tiger prawn oshi and truffle avacado oshi. Not alot of seating area inside but I have never had to wait.
Delicious food, comfortable environment!
Food is unreal. Highly recommend!!! Dietary restrictions: There is a small gluten free menu and gluten free soy sauce available for .25C a packet. Food is incredible, worth it!
Great aburi sushi! We dined outside on a public bench because we had our dog and staff were so kind to bring our food and beverages out to us.
Excellent aburi oshi sushi! Staff is amazing. Totally recommend!
ordered off of Uber eats and absolutely demolished that aburi platter sober It came packed in this nice black box, I felt like I was opening some treasured article. Plus there was a sticky note that had all the sushi s as reference. The care in the packaging was obvious and very sweetly done As for the rolls themselves, they all tasted great. The rice was soft but one could still taste the sushi vinegar so it didn t make it as heavy. You could tell every thing was fresh, and despite the delivery it was still good temp. My only complaint would be that they could have cut the pieces more neatly but it didn t change the taste or experience at all. So the yukke was soft and warm, comforting with a sweetness from the onions and then there was freshness from the alfalfa. The mackerel tasted liked the grilled ones you would have when camping and it just gave me a nice warm fuzzy feeling. The scallop was a melt in the mouth, silky yet still crunchy from the fish roe. The salmon was pure creamy comfort, no shocker haha. The tobiko was crunchy and spicy, but not a burn in the mouth spicy thanks to the tuna inside. And the basil ebi was my absolute favourite. The pesto taste gave it another dimension I could only wish there was more of it. Thank you for the great food
Super high quality sushi; one of the best not just on the North Shore but in BC I would say. The menu is a bit more focused / limited without the typical bento boxed, teriyaki bowls etc but thats not a bad thing. Very well-prepared, very fresh, very well thought out, well balanced and beautifully presented. All in a cozy and serene (and super clean) setting. Will definitely be back!
Very good sushi from Osaka and peaceful little place.
Walking into the restaurant the ambience was so incredible and the place was so clean and felt so welcoming. The food quality was amazing. We got the spicy tuna oshi and avocado oshi and both were amazing!! Highly recommend this place :)
Amazing food. Highly recommend the abasil Prawn Ebi Oshi. Italian flavour in sushi sounds weird but it s delicious!
Best sushi in North Vancouver , super fresh . Good portions , amazing quality !
Amazing!
The sushi here is good. I am a big eater and I found my meal here quite expensive. It was good but costly. Not many vegan options here which was a challenge for my partner. A cool spot but quite small and you need to order from the counter. If you like oshi or aburi this is worth checking out.
Great spot for Oshi sushi! Get the #2 it won t disappoint.
Such a gem of a place!! Loved the sushi! Highly recommend trying the #2 and #12. We will be back for sure! :) Food
Sushi was good, but the sockeye salmon oshi had a huge amount of oil on it and in the box compared to the non oshi roll I got.
I was expecting a full dine-in restaurant since Ive been to another location but this is more of a takeout place. That being said, there is some limited seating and its still great! Its very cozy and casual. The staff was quite friendly and the food was great. Its not the cheapest.. but what can you expect in 2023. The quality was great so no complaints. A big issue with the area is that parking is impossible but I guess you dont need to park if youre just picking up (which is what most people will do here). A bonus is Earnest Ice Cream is right next door. My favourite ice cream place :)
One of the best Aburi places in town!
I ordered Sockeye Eye Salmon Real Snow Crab Scallop and Basil Prawn all tastes great All staff are very friendly too
Relaxing atmosphere and high quality sushi.
Sooooooo delicious
Really nice staff and extremely clean but $15 for a tofu oshi that did not even come close to filling me up for lunch? Over-priced.
Great food and very friendly staff. I had the Oshi Sample (that is temporary in their menu) so I had the chance to try a piece of each oshi they offer in the menu, and they were all delicious!
Highly recommended. Delicious Avo Oshi and fresh Spicy tuna Oshi. Avo oshi especially for the Vegetarian. Very nice and friendly staff! Definitely coming back again!
Excellent aburi sushi. Absolutely perfectly done. We got the temporary sample platter and liked the spicy tuna, sockeye salmon and truffle oil avocado pieces the best! Really nice staff as well, two thumbs up Only thing I would recommend is for them to get reusable soy sauce trays. Thanks!
Definitely some of the best sushi Ive ever had, and a pretty little cafe with fast service and the staff were super nice and went above and beyond for our little staff get together over Halloween.
Just opened 2 weeks ago! Current promotion of 13 piece aburi sushi sampler for $25, you get to try each sushi on their menu! Dine in or take out. Wonderful experience dining here. This is their second location, the other is in Kits. Same great quality aburi sushi. We were surprised that there wasn t a huge crowd considering there is always a wait when I go to the Kits location. Hoping they make their way up the Google searches because it is well deserved! Service was amazing - greeted immediately, waiter followed up with us during our meal, and also gave us recommendations and their promotions. Looking forward to becoming a regular here in North Van :)
Delicious!! Would 1000% recommend!! Great addition to the area! Well done guys!
I was super happy to hear that green leaf is coming to north shore. Finally ordered my first order today( the platter) The staffs were very nice , and when I went to pick up my order, the staffs told me that they put extra food in the bag for me to try. And when I got home opened up the bag. There s a really thoughtful note and one roll of fresh aburi sushi in there. Small things like this definitely has lighten up my day. I love how the staffs went above and beyond . And the food was quick and super fresh just as I have expected. Definitely will be back!!!
We had the sample platter & it was absolutely delicious! Great food & amazing service :) Will be making this a regular spot for sure!
Loved the atmosphere and menu here, I d never had aburi sushi before so really enjoyed the sampling platter! Definitely check out this new restaurant in North Van!
I tried out h the is new location of green leaf and was pleasantly surprised by the aburi only menu. I tried the sampler and it was more bang for your buck than two orders of aburi by two pieces. It s only available for a limited time. The classic sockeye salmon aburi was delicious. I really liked how there were two vegetarian options. The tofu one was much better than the truffle avocado in my opinion. The seating area is quite small, but it s cute inside. The staff were super friendly!
This isn t your regular sushi! It s oshi box sushi! It s a step up from the regular rolls and inspired combinations of flavours. Staff are attentive, very polite, and proud of their product.
Best new spot in North Van! The oshi melts in your mouth and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They even threw in some sockeye salmon oshi for us to try on the house! Dont walk, RUN. Vegetarian options: 2 vegetarian options: truffle avocado oshi and tofu oshi. The truffle avocado is very good.
Best sushi in North Vancouver, the service was great and they gave us 3 complimentary pieces of sushi. We will be back!
Stopped by today, the sushi was incredible! We will be back.
You can tell a lot of care & attention goes into the food that they make for you here. Not only is it very fresh, extremely delicious and visually appealing, but they have also created such a warm & welcoming atmosphere to enjoy it in. So lucky that they have opened their restaurant in my neighbourhood!
I was so excited for green leaf to open on the north shore and the inside decor is so cozy and cute! Just for the record, the food and the service/staff was definitely a 5 star experience for me, there is no doubt about how good the aburi is. I felt the need to take a star away because I found the vibe and the concept of this green leaf very odd, and if you re looking for the restaurant experience - you won t find it here. They do not have the usual green leaf full menu, it is only aburi and it seems that they re promoting a quick takeout concept vs dining in. If you choose to dine in, you have to go to the front counter and order, pay and tip in advance BUT they bring you the tray and they offer tea/water and try to serve you. They do not offer beverages outside of their cooler so no house made drinks are an option. I worry that this weird in between concept of a takeout restaurant but partial restaurant service will cause this green leaf to go under. I truly believe that the full green leaf experience offered at other locations would be preferred and loved by all north shore residents.
Never try #8 on their menu VERY pricey for a sushi Nice team, clean place I went there for first time and for sure it would be our last
Amazing food and amazing customer service. We ordered 4 items and enjoyed every single bite. The staff were so attentive and caring. 10/10 Definitely would come back regularly!
Best sushi I have ever had! Very fresh (rice still warm), and an imaginative menu. Service very good and great ambiance for such a small space, which is a recently restored old building with tiled/wooden floors. Looking forward to visiting there often.
Great food. Great atmosphere.
This place is wonderful! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff make you feel so welcome. This is definitely my go to place for sushi on the north shore.
The best sushi I ve had in a long time! Innovative menu items and everyone was very nice and welcoming. I enjoyed my visit very much.
It was sooooo good.
