we do take out and delivery with door dash. skip the dish. and uber eat Fresh, high quality and deliciouse authentic Japanese dining Sansho sushi
We've been coming to Sansho for many, many years. We like the large menu, reasonable prices, tasty food, and generous fish portions. Unfortunately, the past couple of times we've been here have been disappointing due to the service. Last time, they took our order and we waited for 30 minutes for it to arrive. We finally asked about our order and the waitress said she didn't give it to the kitchen. They gave us miso soup for free for the 30 minute delay. Most recently, we made a reservation for 6pm for a party of 4 for a birthday dinner. We arrived on time at 6pm. Here's what happened: -No one visited our table until 6:15pm when we were asked if we had ordered. We said we hadn't been given menus. -We received menus and the waitress asked what we would like to order...except she turned to leave the table before asking what I wanted. As she started to walk away, I said, "I'd like to order too..." and then she came back and wrote down my order. -She didn't repeat the order back to us before leaving our table. -The waitress forgot one of our items. I asked where the tempura was (as we'd received and eaten most everything else). She came back 10 minutes later with it. -Another item arrived arrived even later...maybe 40 minutes after we ordered. We thought they'd forgotten about that item too. -At 7:15pm we asked for our bill. The waitress came with the bill, and held out the credit card machine for me to pay. I took a moment to look the bill over (as we had nearly a dozen items on the bill, and some of our party was reimbursing me in cash while I put the entire amount on my credit card). As I was pulling out my credit card the waitress told us the next reservation was waiting and we needed to leave because they needed our table. She said this two or three times over. It was quite rude. We had a reservation; we were on time for our reservation; we spent well over $100; and we were only there for 1 hour 15 minutes (which is not overly long for dinner for 4 people). It was not our fault that the restaurant scheduled a 7:15pm reservation after a 6:00pm reservation, and that service to our table was very slow. We felt uncomfortable, awkward and a little embarrassed. We felt like a nuisance to this waitress who was rushing us out the door. It was very far from the 'birthday dinner' celebratory vibe we had hoped for. In sum, we spent most of our time waiting for menus; waiting for food to arrive; wondering where items in our order were; wishing someone would check on us (which never happened - we didn't have our waters refilled once during our entire time, and we were thirsty); and then feeling awkward as we were rushed to pay and leave asap. During our dinner, there were over a dozen people crammed into the front area waiting for tables and/or takeout. The restaurant looked overwhelmed, understaffed, and disorganized. Sadly, we're now looking for our new sushi spot in North Van :(
Food was tasty and service was nice. Great experience all around. We will certainly visit again when in the area.
Had a lunch box special . They were kind enough to swap out the California roll for the tuna roll which was great. Service was fast. A nice miso soup and I enjoyed the Goma-ae.
Our first time here, ate in. Would recommend a reservation as they seemed to be filling up, and had tons of pickup orders on the go. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food came fast and was tasty. Not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but no complaints. Large menu with tons of options. This isn’t a fancy place, but it’s not trying to be that. If you want a reasonably priced spot for a quick, sit down Japanese meal, this is a great find!
Our family came here for a birthday dinner for our younger son. We had been recommended this place by a friend. It was very busy but we had made reservations based on their web site recommending it. They brought us some green tea but we could have also had water. We were seated in a booth which has high backs so you could not see the other tables, it felt more intimate. There was a 2 seater table near which was occupied later in our dinner. The service was great. We were seated quickly and asked if we would like something to drink. We all chose green tea which was brought out quickly. It did not take long for the food to be brought out and every so often someone would check how we were doing so the service was great! I had the Salmon Don which was Salmon Sashimi on top of Sushi Rice. The Salmon was delicious and there was quite alot of it! Our younger son and my wife had the Tempura & Sashimi. The Tempura was crispy and the Sashimi was smooth and flavourful! Our older son had a California Roll and assorted Nigri Sushi which he said was Really fresh! We would definitely eat here again!
This is really a suprise that one of the best Japanese restaurants actually located at a quiet neighborhood at Noth Vancouver. If it wasn't recommended by a friend, who is also a Japanese foodie, I wouldn't have discovered this. We ordered sashimi combo, deep fried squid appetizer, tonkatzu combo. Everything was oishiiiiii, so good! Always busy so reservation recommended.
Price is great and so is the food and service :) really love their Matcha cheesecake ❤️ and the sockeye salmon sashimi was delicious
Food 4.5/5 authentic and fresh. Portion is not small! Service 4.8/5 attentive and friendly! Ambience 3/5 we may be on a bad time but the floor was filthy with sauce and edamame and the chair next to us has water 😭
If you want some of the best and most authentic home cooked style Japanese in the GVA, Sansho is an all time favourite and it is incredibly affordable.
Update to my review 3 years ago. Loved this place for quite a while but over the last 6-9 months something has happened with the service and food. Every time for the last 4 times we have been there an unfriendly seater wanted to put us in the corner by the bathroom even though other tables were available. This happened again yesterday. I tried to make conversation and she was dismissive. The food that day was only ok and even the Miso soup was watery. After a poor series of visits we gave it one more try - this is the 4th unpleasant visit in a few months so will have to find another place.
Go here all the time really good food and service
Good sushi a great prices !
Great box lunches and fair prices.
A restaurant with a Japanese chef. Quite satisfactory.
Fresh fish. Lots of choices.
Beware of the vegetable udon, which has no veggies - only a few snipets of spinach for which you will pay $12 + tax for a bowl of broth and noodles. Both deceptive and misleading. When I phoned back, they only said oh sorry. Cant speak to other menu items, or atmosphere as I ordered pick-up.
I love coming here all the time! Excellent prices and I recommend the dinner sets because they are so good. Black cod was definitely a favorite for me and is a must try!
This restaurant is a hidden gem. I am genuinely shocked its not packed!
Our go to for easy dinners on busy days - quick service and friendly staff always make it easier to love the business. Highly recommend the futomaki, great price for the amount you get.
Great option for Celiacs! They have a GF menu with plenty of options. I ordered the tuna hamachi roll and would 100% recommend. The miso soup was also GF. They also offer GF soy sauce.
Good little spot. Busy. Reservations recommended
Great food!!!! Everything great! Food
The best sushi in North Vancouver I love everything in the menu. Im a huge fan of chicken teriyaki.
We frequently order from this restaurant at the office, and their lunch specials and sushi rolls have always been tasty. The food we ve tried so far has been delicious. However, during our most recent visit, the experience was far from pleasant. The person who took our order for pickup was extremely rude from the start, for no apparent reason. She missed the notes included with the order, rolled her eyes, and continued to treat me with disrespect throughout the interaction. I lost my appetite after such unprofessional and unpolite behavior, which was very disappointing.
Staff is very nice, food very good and fresh. The tempura is very good. There are a lot of gluten-free and vegetarian options. Normally frequented by locals. Free parking at the back of the store. Worth the visit and the price
Friendly staff, plenty of seating, great prices! I had the Nanban Chicken and the Ebi-Mayo shrimp and both were some of the best dishes I ve ever had. So fresh! The shrimp and chicken were extremely tender. SO MUCH FLAVOR! Definitely want to come here again.
Amazing no words needed!! Kid-friendliness: They handled my kids perfectly Wheelchair accessibility: Beatiful
Amazing staff, great environment and fresh, tasty sushi.
Very nice sushi, with good presentation and wonderful flavours. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there are a wide variety of interesting and different choices on the menu.
Awesome local spot
Honestly everything was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend.
We love this place for its good and very friendly service!
Quite pricey; very small - which is fine, but makes the lack of service even more surprising. We asked for green tea, which never arrived and sat for ages, waiting to pay, before giving up and going to the counter to pay. Oh she said was oh yes sorry we get very busy and sometimes you just pay here... It wasnt busy. My roll was good; I tried a new-to-me fish (Hamachi, I think?) roll with jalapeño slices on top. The fish was mild and had a nice soft texture. The reason I chose this place was that my Japanese friend had wanted to try it. I cant see myself going back again, uness I was visiting my friend and she wanted to go. Its just too expensive for what you get. (ALL I had was the one roll; my friend had a lunch special.) Parking: It seemed like a very busy little spot. I had to drive around the block a couple of times, until I finally found a very small spot to squeeze into.
Absolutely delicious
I was very satisfied!!! The cost performance is really good, and the taste is almost the same as in Japan.
I really wanted to like this place. I ordered oily fish (sockeye, toro), which, if not fresh, is very apparent. It was very apparent that it wasnt. The atmosphere looked good, i ordered take-away. The service was great; very friendly servers. The price was fine if the food was great, but alas, it was not. Ive washed my hands several times after the meal, but the memory remains. I only care about food quality, so its a 2.
My favorite Japanese restaurant, fresh, authentic, good quality food; polite and professional, clean and quiet environment
Legit
Simple and cozy interior, fresh sashimi, yummy miso cod.
Really nice to find a sushi restaurant owned and operated by a Japanese family in North Van. Food is usually really good, and just the right portion size for the price. Update 6 years later: Sansho is still awesome.
The sushi and food was very delicious as always!
Great food, huge portions in the beef teriyaki dinner box with sashimi. Definitely worth trying if you havent yet!
My friend and I always go to this restaurant and we have always been treated extremely well, but on Sunday we had a very unpleasant experience. We decided to place our order online to get ahead as we had little time for lunch and when we arrived at the restaurant and asked for a table to sit at, we were treated very badly by one of the employees or the owner (woman), I dont know, who didnt even look at our faces and only spoke about 5 times that we couldnt sit with she just kept saying No and No, without giving any reason and extremely without any politeness or respect, just because we had ordered online. The waiter that was giving us the order just kept apologizing very embarrassed. There were several free tables and we didnt understand the poor service this time. extremely disappointing, she wouldnt want to be treated by anyone the way she treated us.
Ordered take out via Google map option (apparently I chose store front by doordash), honestly I just chose whichever that lets me order for pick up and paid w Google pay. (Bcuz there isnt another option thats without any doordash or uber or whatever). Anyway Super easy. They sent a text saying when order is expected and sent another saying its ready for pick up. Its great. The only problem tonight was the staff. I went to the cashier and this lady she asked for my name. So I told her my name. And she kept asking me about combo. I told her I dont understand, my name is Eve, I see my order, I can show u my ID (so I showed her my ID). And she just kept asking me if Im w door dash or Uber or whichever company. I said no I just ordered it on Google. She would NOT stop asking. Honestly. Why do u think I order take out ? Im tired. I dont wanna cook tonight. Im hungry. Im hangry. I just fking want my food!. So finally I just told her, can I please just have my food? I gave you my name my ID. What more do u need? She still kept asking me about the store front or company thing. I honestly dont even know how it works, if you guys want people or order take out , maybe like update the methods or update the staff so they can speak better English or something? The customer really only want the food. So dont make this step difficult.
We have been going to this place twice a month for 5 years. Tonight we showed up with a reservation and were told they had no table for us and were saving the reserved table for a larger party. Not impressed. Never going back.
best bento box ever!
The best Japanese food in town (trust us, weve tried), and the nicest people. You cant go wrong - the menu is amazing!
Not fancy but the food is very good. I took my Japanese in laws and they had fun speaking Japanese to the servers. The sushi was beautiful and fresh. Kids loved it.
High quality authentication Japanese food with a many gluten free options. (They have there own gluten free menu) Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free
Its been a while since Ive been here, but the service is the best at Matzo
One time I came here, I was missing some sushi that I hadnt seen anywhere here in Canada, that I used to eat regularly back in South Africa. I took a chance, and asked the waitress if they would be willing to copy it if I had a picture, and after she went to show the chef the picture, I actually got what I was looking for, and it was delicious! This was the best experience Ive had at any restaurant! Fantastic people here.
We love Sansho sushi. It has become our go-to in North Van for dinner. We are always impressed with the quality and value. The staff are incredible and we are always glad we went. Highly recommend. The best sushi in North Van, and their teriyaki dinner is great value. Definitely check it out- you wont order sushi from anyone else after! Kid-friendliness: Multiple high chairs
Delicious, fresh sushi for a fair price. I go here every time I m back in North Vancouver and it never disappoints. The salmon sashimi is an absolute winner too.
In the review section, a few comments mention that while the food was good at Sansho Restaurant, the service left much to be desired. I can relate to this based on my recent experiences at Sansho. During my three visits, I consistently ordered the eel bowl, a popular choice among Japanese diners, and requested Sansho pepper, a special Japanese seasoning. Initially, they provided it generously, but on subsequent visits, there were issues. The second time, it was taken away prematurely, and on the third visit, I was informed they no longer had Sansho, which felt disappointing and cheap. On the bright side, other Japanese restaurants in North Vancouver, like Hamaei and Momiji, offered exceptional service. At Hamaei, the staff always ensured I had Sansho, regardless of how much I used, while at Momiji, they went above and beyond by purchasing Sansho specifically for me when it wasnt initially available. Their dedication to customer satisfaction left a lasting impression. Additionally, some reviewers mentioned experiencing stomach pains after dining at Sansho, hinting at potential hygiene issues. For those seeking delicious Japanese cuisine paired with excellent service, I highly recommend Hamaei and Momiji in North Vancouver.
Me and my friend visit sansho We had chirashi sushi and izakaya menu It was great one of the best sushi in north vancouver Highly recomend Food : 5/5 |
We went here last week Our server was very attentive and overall service was great . The food quality was outstanding Omakase sushi and sashimi was awesome Food : 5/5 |
I v been visiting Sansho for years, and it s perfect everytime
This place was recommended to me and I was impressed by the quality of food here. It may not seem fancy when it comes to decor and ambience but the food and service makes up for it. Everything was delicious and fresh!
Nice small restaurant
A local North Vancouver gem for Japanese food. The quality and consistency of this place is always good in the three years that I have been going here. They have daily specials which are not on the menu so something to check when you re there. It can get a bit busy during dinner time so make reservations.
Great sushi for the price. Tastes fresh and is not overly expensive!
I ordered the deluxe nigiri set takeout extremely disappointed on how undercooked the sushi rice was on each bite as it was gritty.
Once again I creamed in my jeans when I had Sansho supreme........ Sushi that is. Go here and order off the chefs special get the spicy. Agedasi tofu. On second thought just go there multiple times and eventually order everything on the menu and realize that you have landed upon a true gem. The chef special has stuff flown in from Japan on a regular basis youll never see the same thing twice
This little restaurant serves the best Japanese food on the North Shore! Service is spectacular too!
Incorrect order and then the staff attempted to blame myself for the error. Some accountability would be appreciated.
Enjoyable food- the soba was delicious
Food was incredible, prices are actually reasonable because the portions are quite big! So many gluten free options and we really enjoyed it! Would definitely recommend it
Authentic Japanese run restaurant. Very bright and clean.
It s our local so I haven t eaten in the restaurant yet but often do take out. The food is consistently fresh, hot, well made and delicious. They have a lot of options on the menu but everything I ve had has been very tasty. The udon is great, the sushi very fresh, the tempura crispy and hot. We re glad it s a part of the neighbourhood.
Brilliant food, and a steal for the price! The staff were so welcoming and attentive. Keen to visit again.
Order this large sashimi from Uber eat yesterday at 7:15pm and it is not ready until 8:20pm. The driver has been waiting there for more than 10 minutes. Apart from the time, I paid $44.9 for this with no soy sauce provided. Each of the sashimi is in a thin and small size, taste and freshness is just in average. I have to say this is not worth the price. There are much better sushi restaurants in north van in terms of the prices , quantities and services.
One of the better sushi places on the north shore . Awesome cuts of fish, the food is always tasty !
Absolutely delicious, very fresh sushi! The flavors (especially the spicy rolls, which we love) were fantastic!
Didn t take so long and the food was amazing!!
A nearby and delicious Japanese restaurant! All tastes similar to those eaten in Japan. The customer service is kind and pleasant!
Overall excellent
Nice little sushi restaurant in our neighborhood. Super fresh sashimi. Parking: Street parking only Kid-friendliness: Try their sushi pizza with the kids Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor, no steps
So delicious
Never seen and tasted so thick and fresh sashimi. Delicious~! The squid was perfectly marinated and crispy.
Chirashi sushi is my best. Fresh and rich in flavor. The stafffs are friendly and I like the interior, too.
I forgot the name of this.. sea party?or something.. It was so delicious!! Nice people & food. Best in town.
Most authentic and delicious sushi on the north shore.
You d never imagine that this little restaurant in the suburbs would be so busy, but it s great sushi, friendly staff and good pricing make it my favourite sushi restaurant on the North Shore. The roll d boat is a great deal for 4 people to dine on, and there are good combination specials for solo diners too.
Very clean, excellent sushi and sashimi, very fresh fish. A hidden gem !! Yes I totally loved it Dietary restrictions: Has a gluten free menu. As well as a regular menu.
Food was soggy and quite disgusting. Chicken was cold and rice was soggy. The shrimp in the Ebi Sunomono was tough and tasted horrible.
Such a lovely calm place. Food was exceptional and staff very attentive. I had a chicken teriyaki donburi with miso soup included. We absolutely enjoyed our dinner here!
The price of the lunch set is good and it tastes good. Where to go in Nolvan when you want to eat Japanese food This is a restaurant with a neat feel. Recommended!
Top notch Japanese!! Great variety of authentic Japanese foods! Both Chirashi and Teishoku looked and tasted great. They came in big portions with soup and salad. A very popular place for both dine in and take out.
Real Japanese restaurant The una don is so great.
I ve ordered katsu don on Doordash before, I had a terrible stomachache after eating that. I thought it could be any problem from me, so today I ordered karaage and sashimi and had a stomachache again. Even the sashimi had a strange taste. I guess this restaurant is lack of thorough sanitation. I wouldn t recommend to eat here otherwise you may have a stomachache later.
Food was really good and freshly prepared. Staff are friendly too. Best sushi i ever taste, I highly recommend!
Very pleasant. Great food.
Ive been here few times.Staff are accommodating and foods are great. I recommend this place for sushi and other Japanese food lovers.
Great Japanese restaurant. Awesome food and great friendly service. Look for Charlene, she is fantastic!! Oh yeah they have rewards system 8 Dining s get ten bakaroos off! I love it!! One of the best sushi places on the North Shore!
The sushi and tuna donburi were wonderful! The staff were very helpful and attentive as well. We cant wait to come back
Delicious, fresh and fast & friendly service!!
Been coming here for years both dine-in and takeout. Wonderfully fresh fish, crunchy tempura, and terrific service! Prices are very affordable as well (especially their lunch specials). This is definitely our go-to Japanese restaurant in Metro Vancouver.
One of the best places to dine in town with the family.
Sushi is fresh
All the sushi rolls are excellent! Also a lot of cooked dishes to choose from if you don t eat raw fish! Super kids friendly! Parking: Convenient street parking and parking lot
Our family have been eating in Sansho sushi once a week for over a year, always so happy with the tasty food and best service! It s something to look forward to for the kids every week! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free menu has a big variety of options! Parking: Easy to find Kid-friendliness: The staff are super friendly to the kids!
Always one of my go to Sushi spots in North Vancouver. Love the Sansho Gozen dinner box - plenty of variety and always top quality. Very accommodating for kids as well with their own kids plates and bowls.
First time here, awesome service and food . I had the VIP CHIRASHI really like it
Good food Good service Price is reasonable Parking: We start 5:30 , lots of parking
My go to for authentic Japanese cuisine! Fresh quality fish, honestly cooking and great value. They have awesome specials for both lunch (Maku bento, Udon+Cali roll) and dinner (Sansho Gozen) and every 10th visit you get a coupon (after a check in). We also love coming here because its kid friendly. Servers are very friendly and warm. 5 stars all around!
Absolutely I love everything for today.
Friendly staff and delicious food. They have an excellent gluten-free menu. My partner is celiac and has never had a reaction here!
Had lunch and it was good
My favorite sushi place on the North Shore. Very fresh, tasty rolls and the service is also so efficient and personable. Would 10/10 recommend!
This is always our go-to sushi spot in North Van!
Quickly has become our go-to. Food is excellent quality, priced right, and staff are so great.
Its the real deal, bonus its next door to the British Butcher. Fantastic lunch specials
Great food and nice people.
Excellent service, great food, and authentic menu. Has a special menu for gluten-free options as well!
Great neighborhood gem. Good quality and portions are very generous.
I would like to give a review of this place, but unfortunately they said online they closed at 3, the sign on their window said they closed at 3, but when I walked in at 2:30 they said they were closed. So, just don t count on actually being able to enter the building when you want to!
Worst place I ve been to
The sushi and sashimi was great, very busy with a lineup and a lot of take-out orders. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs
Good quality and low price
Good food! A lot of choices
Best sushi Ive eaten in Vancouver so far!
If you are looking for a valuable and professional chirashi donburi, this is the place to have it. Their VIP chirashi is the best donburi in town
Absolutely love this place! Great service and fresh list thats constantly changing!
Loved the kind and friendly service here, and loves that they have a gluten free menu!!!! They understand celiac requirements and cross contamination and were able to provide me with a safe meal! Highly recommend!! Vegetarian options: Veggie and gluten free options
Our food was delicious and the servings were MORE than ample. Recommended to us by Japanese friends. Large number selections on the menu.
The food is consistently good quality and made with some care.
So glad I came here for dinner!!
Best sushi in North Van, wonderful service
The staff were so friendly and attentive. The portions were huge! Such a pleasant surprise! And so fresh and yummy.
They re so nice and the food is amazing!
Been here a few times in the past couple of months and everything has consistently been very good. Service is prompt and polite, prices are good value and ambience is nice. Our favourites are Agedashi Nasu, Spicy Agedashi Tofu, Salmon Kama, Negi-Toro roll and Spicy Tuna roll. Maki rolls are generous with the fillings and taste very fresh. Update. Sansho continues to maintain a high level of service and food quality. They were slammed by 6:00pm the other night and its getting that a reservation is prudent, even for an early dinner. On our most recent visit we tried green tea zaru soba with tempura, the tempura was lightly coated and not a bit of grease. Excellent! Wheelchair accessibility: No problems with a walker.
It was amazing, most definitely the best place I ve ever eaten at. I will definitely come back and encourage everyone to try this place out. Amazing service, food and chefs, all plates and cutlery were very clean and food tasted amazing, very tasty. 5/5
People with bad attitude . Sushi was bad too
Terrific Sushi and I am a sushi lover. We had the spicy California with roe, dynamite, California (not spicy), Ebi Oshi (sp?) Sushi, and pork Gyoza to start. Very fresh tasting! We are coming back. 100% recommend Kid-friendliness: High chairs available and smaller chairs for children
Very authentic and delicious home tasting Japanese sushi. This beats out most sushi restaurants in all of Vancouver! And that is not easy to do. Bravo! Dietary restrictions: Low sugar food good for diabetics
Awesome! The team there really knows whats up when it comes to sushi. Fast service and friendly staff.
Excellent, authentic Japanese sushi with warm service and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing tasting food! The best quality and quantity both. Excellence in food and service!
Good neighborhood restaurant
Lovely staff and very yummy sushi
Authentic Japanese place.
Legit Japanese place in North Van. Really dont want to tell anyone because its such a hidden gem. Service is excellent. Definitely get the Japanese hospitality here despite it being as busy as it is. Visited on a Sunday during dinner service and it was busy. The restaurant was about 80% full but with all the take out and delivery orders... staff could barely keep up. Despite that, they were able to provide excellent service with a smile. Food was excellent. Ordered a couple set dinners and a hot soba with tempura. Food came out well presented. You can really taste the freshness of the fish. 100% will be back when in the area. Kid-friendliness: Have high chairs.
How lucky are we to have such a delicious sushi place in North Van! Fresh food, wide variety of menu options, and lovely service. This is one of my favs
This is a cute and authentic restaurant with high quality sushi. Will definitely be back! Worth trying some of the different menu items as the menu is very comprehensive. We really enjoy the chirashi don here; its a very unique presentation!
Highly recommended.
Bad service. They make you feel like they only care about how much youre spending. Over priced food. Menu is way too big and crowded. Food quality is good.
This is the real deal if you want Japanese food cooked by Japanese chefs.
Great food very nice staff and cute little restaurant that had wonderful food I loved my time there
Very clean restaurant and delicious sushi!
Is this the best sushi north van has to offer. Came for a cold soba, but also ordered the VIP Chirashi because I saw the review. If the description of Chef s selection of fresh assorted seafood includes tamagoyaki, I think you really don t have business running a Japanese store. Is the selection so limited to the point that the chef feels the need to put egg in the box? The Hokkigai (surf clam) in the box was yellowish. They only gave a butterflied half piece, and the taste was off putting (almost as if it had gone bad and they tried to salvage that one half). A lot of the pieces were cut unevenly in size, and I even had on piece of fish where it was improperly prepared and so tough I spat it out. Apart from that, half of my box of sashimi was cooked products (shrimp, mackerel, tamagoyaki, overcooked tako). The unagi on the rice was very tender and probably the only highlight. The salmon roe on the rice were a mix of ok, shrivelled and bursted. The soba was just your typical Japanese restaurant kind where they cook dried noodles and give you a store bought sauce to dip it with. Needless to say, my worst $60 spent yet. Only tipped because the server was putting in the effort and the food being bad is out of their control.
Great place for a meal. Lovely owners
When I complained their customer service to one of the Korean lady server, she kinda yelled at me and said I understood I understood and leave like she didn t wanna talk to me anymore. Thought she didn t have any apologies feelings. Needs to be improved. Food was good, but service was bad. Spend good time with my friends but the mood became bad because of her.
Great place for bento! Authentic Japanese food.
Its a very good place.
Favourite sushi in North Van!
Quick service, decently priced, good sushi. Not many restaurant options around, but this place if a good option for sushi with ample sitting room. Friendly service. Parking: Street parking Kid-friendliness: No kids menu, but some good options to share Wheelchair accessibility: Swinging door, all on one floor
Never lets me down, absolute favorite place to go with amazing quality
Absolutely incredible. The menu selection is diverse & creative. The food is fresh and masterfully prepared. The service is excellent, attentive, and respectful. My favourite Japanese Restaurant in BC.
Ive been coming here for years and its still my favourite Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. Such great food, amazing quality, and some of the best teriyaki and sashimi that Ive had. Love them!
Freshest sushi in North Vancouver
Decided to just pop in for lunch and was very happy with my experience. The staff are very kind and friendly. The food is fresh, delicious and well priced. Ill be back and will be recommending this place to my friends.
Pros: Good portions and presentation Tastes good Free parking in the neighbourhood Beer on tap Usually seating available inside during lunch Friendly staff Cons: can t think of one and I ve been here numerous times.
Our meals here (and take out) have been excellent. So fresh and delicious. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We re so fortunate to have this gem in our neighbourhood!
Love this place! Extensive menu and the best sashimi on the north shore. I go there regularly, about twice a month at least. Havent worked through the entire menu yet, but everything Ive had is so good. Staff are always so attentive. Honestly cant say enough good things about this place. Parking: Parking lot at the back or street parking, never had trouble finding somewhere to park. Kid-friendliness: They were so good with my friends 3 years old!
Maki tray takeout! Made very quickly and hit the spot. Tray presentation could be leveled up but not big deal. Great local sushi place!
This is my favourite sushi restaurant in North Vancouver. The food is absolutely delicious and there is a great atmosphere inside
