Overall nice Korean restaurant, I had the spicy beef soup it was delicious but I wish they could adjust the spice level like other places. Their banchan is great, they won’t refill unless you ask. No tea offered, I feel like other Korean places offer a bit more of the real Korean experience.
Love it. It's been several years since I visited here.I was at first sad that the previous Korean restaurant had closed. I was not disappointed with the current iteration that operates in this. Love the food choices, we were not disappointed and left with a pile of take home for later. Quick and friendly service at a wonderful price.
Great quality of food with authentic Korean taste - can't praise enough the cold noodles (naengmyeon) and braised spicy chicken (dak-dori-tang). It's definitely one of my go-to places when I'm in the area!
This is my first visit here, the foods were all good! Especially the Dakdori-tang was perfect~ and also server was kind, The atmosphere here is also good. I love bori restaurant! I assure you, I‘ll definitely come back~
The spicy pork dish was fantastic, as were the side dishes. Wasn't the biggest fan of the fried squid (quite stringy) but perhaps that's more of a palate thing. One thing is - stay away from delivery. It truly doesn't translate well. You're much better off enjoying all the dishes in person on their piping hot stone plates and platters.
During our journey to Whistler, we made a pit stop in this area to recharge my car, and we took the opportunity to grab some lunch. With everyone in our group expressing curiosity about this place, we ultimately decided to give it a try. The establishment appeared to be well-maintained, and the service was friendly, albeit a bit slow. However, my friends were disappointed with their meals, finding them lacking in flavor and too plain. While my noodle dish was enjoyable, it didn't quite justify the high price considering the portion size. It felt like this Korean restaurant deviated from the traditional experience I usually seek. One aspect I particularly appreciate in Korean restaurants is the variety of side dishes, but here they only provided three small ones, and we had to repeatedly request more kimchi. Considering the overall cost, we concluded that the value for money was not satisfactory. If we find ourselves in the area again, we'll probably opt for a different restaurant.
My husband and I went out for lunch with my mom at Bori Korean Restaurant. We ordered: Deep Fried Chicken, Seafood Pancake, Japchae noodles (vegetarian), and Hot Pot Rice with Fish Roe. Flavourful, warm, hearty food on a cold winter's day. Everything was delicious but our favourite was the Hot Pot Rice with Fish Roe. We'd never seen this on a Korean menu before and it was wonderful. I always love colourful dishes and this dish was colourful. It was also a nice change of pace from ordering the standard Bibimbap rice dish that we usually order at Korean restaurants. Fish Roe are tiny but it's amazing how such a tiny ingredient can make such a huge difference to food. It really elevated this dish to another level. Service: Could have been better Parking: Free parking on Lonsdale or on some of the side streets Location: 2039 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver
Delicious food, good price point for quality authentic Korean food. The restaurant is clean, well lit and spacious. Servers are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The staff are very efficient and we did not wait long for our food to arrive. The dishes were plated well and bonus points for pretty plates as they looked amazing for the food photos. Food had good proportions and were flavourful. The seafood soft tofu soup had the most ingredients I have ever had at a Korean restaurant and with a delicious kick of spice. Unlike many restaurants that use way too much flour in their seafood pancake, the seafood pancake at Bori had a nice crunch and was refreshing with the green onion base. Overall, the atmosphere is great for families and friends. I can tell Bori puts a lot of care and effort into their dishes and you will walk out satisfied. There is ample free parking around the neighbourhood. Will be back soon to try their other menu items.
Ordered the spicy tofu soup from Uber eats and I m so happy with it. I was surprised that it came with rice and 3 diff garnishes. The dish Reminded me of the dish I had in Korea. I will def order again!
Bori is a legit Korean restaurant. I believe it opened its doors earlier this year in 2024. I had the Gamja Tang/Pork back bone stew and it was delicious. Id also recommend the Bibimbab. Convenient location.
We dined in on a Saturday night an hour before close where the business was quite empty with two other parties. We came in with eight people and the server looked already quite agitated that we came in with so many people, even though there were seats available. Already sitting down, the restaurant forgot to give us utensils for the entire group, we had to ask on two separate occasions to provide us with the utensils. When it came to the meal we ordered the soondubu, bulgogi, japchae kimchi fried rice. The fried rice and bulgogi wasn t terrible, just very salty. While the japchae never even made it out of the kitchen as the server had completely forgotten to even put it into the system. When it came to the soondubu, the soup came out and the visual was very unappetizing. Taking my first bite, a large clump of what looked like gum came out and it was very unsettling. When I asked the server what that was, she took it to the back and I was informed that it was a block of seasoning that was not dissolved. But to me, if a block of seasoning that big can make it into the dish, then it wasn t cooked properly. The server then asked me what should they do about it . Which perplexed me, because if a customer is complaining that their food that they know wasn t cooked properly, the first course of action should be to replace. Also they never even bothered to apologize for the incident. Throughout the entire meal, the service was abysmal. When we would ask questions or need anything brought to the table, the server wouldn t even respond and walk away. We would need to walk to the kitchen to order additional bowls of rice as the server had never came by to check on our meals. Overall, this was the worst experience I ve had at a Korean restaurant in Vancouver, let alone worst experience at a restaurant in general. Take your money anywhere else than here. Hire some better staff or give them the most basic training in customer service and hospitality.
DELICIOUS
The Kimchi fried rice and Darkdori-tang I had at Bori are hands down the best in Vancouver! The Seafood pancake was also super tasty, and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming. You ll seriously regret missing this spot its a must-visit whenever youre in North Vancouver!
This was a restaurant I came across by chance!
Perfect for winter time
Great portions great flavours great vibes
Parking: I was able to park front of the restaurant. Recommended dishes
Best Gamjatang in town!
This side is already spoiled. Just got it today 4pm. This is what I got after tipping?!
The environment of this Korean restaurant is okay, but the service is somewhat lacking. Even though there were not many customers, the waiters did not take the initiative to pay attention to customers needs. The taste of the dishes is also relatively bland, which is somewhat inconsistent with the positive reviews online. The overall experience was not satisfactory and I probably wont come back.
Very clean and friendly service. Food was quite good too (a 4.5 stars).
Try to Potato pancake add on cheese
Add fries !
Giving 2 stars to this place just because the service was OK and the atmosphere. Food was awful. We ordered soft tofu soup with beef - I got 2 little bits of beef in my soup. I asked for mild it came completely white, I had to put some Kimchi inside, so it will get flavor. We also ordered seafood pancake - it was worse seafood pancake I ever had! No seafood, just imitation crab strips. Very bad food :(
Good authentic delicious Korean food and atmosphere.
Bibim Naengmyeon is perfect for summer with its spicy and refreshing taste. The combination of chewy noodles and spicy seasoning whets your appetite, and eating it with chicken cutlet is a truly fantastic combination. There is no better choice than this in hot weather
Its a delicious restaurant with fried chicken. Its spicy and sweet, so Im very satisfied.
One of the best Korean restaurants in BC! If youre craving some authentic korean flavours, this is the spot to hit up. Highly recommended!!
All foods I ordered were great! Kimchi soup, pork cutlet, Mandu(kimchi dunpling). I would definitely visit again. Best mandu!!
Very tasty, and good service; with food brought quickly even when busy. Parking: Street parking is free but quite busy so finding a spot out front is lucky, but lots of side street parking nearby. Food : 5/5 |
I saw the good review for dakdori tang and got mine too! Its very good. Definitely recommend. Food
Amazing and delicious overall
I don t think the rating was accurate. The service was terrible. I was requesting a bowl from her, she nodded however she went ahead with online order instead. I had to ask the second server to get the bowl. She finally gave me a bowl after 10 minutes. In addition, I requested to have additional ONE side dish refilled, yet she rolled her eyes. Anyway, I won t recommend anyone to dine at this restaurant ever. Kid-friendliness: Very bad
I recently went on a weekend and had spicy squid on rice and beef bulbogi, Both dishes were absolutely amazing! I am definitely looking forward to coming back and exploring more of their menu. Highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy delicious and authentic dishes.
I really loved the soy garlic fried chicken and the tofu soup was to my liking. Can t wait to come back!
I ordered and ate steamed chicken on Monday and it was absolutely delicious! It was the best steamed chicken in Vancouver haha.
Best Korean restaurant on the North Shore. Tasty authentic Korean food, friendly service and great prices. Parking: several parking spaces at back
Came here for dinner and my partner and I had an interesting experience We ordered a squid rice, japchae, and a dumpling egg soup! The japchae was 3/5, could ve had a bit more beef and was definitely in the oily side. It had more of a Chinese flavour than a traditional Korean japchae (I don t know anything about it other than when I was Korea the ones I had were super different but it could be a regional dish!! So that s just my personal thoughts) The squid rice was amazing, I would totally eat it again!! But the soup It was flavourless and quite literally had no taste It had no salt and no flavour and was really plain. We tried to add some sauce from the rice to help but nope, it just wasn t our cup of tea. We kindly brought it up to our server and she got, as we anticipated, very annoyed. We told her everything else was great though but it didn t help. She proceeded to ignore us the rest of the time which made it hard to get the bill in which we were forced to flag her down since she didn t want to come back to our table. She and her coworker rolled their eyes at us and we felt really uncomfortable I definitely wouldn t recommend the service. She left the soup on the bill, despite it being untouched, but what can you do Overall not bad food, but do what everyone else does and DoorDash!
Im going to have a delicious dinner I didnt know there was such a good restaurant in North Vancouver. I need to come again next time
Extremely clean restaurant and food is amazing. Staff service is incredible. Overall a really peaceful atmosphere.
Every dishes were delicious, but my best hit was a hot pot rice with fish roe... if you are a mentaiko mayo donburi lover, you must try this....
Great food and nicely appointed place. Well worth a visit.
Delicious Korean food,
My son suggested we dine here last night so we gave it a try. AMAZING find. The food was fresh and tasty. The menu had a great variety of foods to choose from. The lady who served us was so sweet and took the time to explain what was being served.
very delicious
Delicious food! Everything was just perfect!! I will come back again!
The food was delicious and the restaurant seemed to have been updated their menu recently after I came back Yesterday saw the famous actress SANDRA OH. I heard from the staff that it was her second time she came to the restaurant and ordered lots of food. Her vibe and aura were definitely different. I COULDN T BELIEVE MY OWN EYES
I stopped by on the way up to Whistler~ I ate well.
After walking around Grouse Mountain with my friends, I went to Bori Restaurant. The atmosphere is clean and the servers are friendly. I ordered the recommended Chuncheon chicken ribs and soft tofu, and it was a happy dinner served with fresh chicken and vegetables that melted my heart in the cold winter.I want to remember it as an impressive place for a long time.
Excellent customer service and authentic Korean delicious food.. What more can you ask for! Highly recommend to all our close friends and family!
Everything is top notch Very authentic and delicious food We just found this place last week and already came here three times! We cant wait to try all the dishes on the menu.
Ordered doenjang jiggae which had beef supposedly. There was only 2 small slivers of beef in my soup. And 4 pieces of tofu. The free miso soup had more stuff in it. This is a 16 or 18 dollar dish. Polite server answered when i complained though so thank you to her. Other than that.. horrible korean food. Id pick a different north vancouver korean restaurant next time.
All the food was good, especially the kimchi soup and the radish side dish.
Bori Korean Restaurant is a beloved dining destination for fans of Korean cuisine. Located in a bustling part of the city, the restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a friendly staff. The menu is filled with a variety of dishes to choose from, including classic Korean BBQ, spicy stir-fries, and comforting stews. One of the restaurants specialties is its bibimbap, a hearty rice bowl topped with an array of vegetables, protein, and a fried egg. The restaurant also offers a selection of soups, noodles, and small plates to share. In addition to its delicious food, Bori Korean Restaurant is known for its extensive selection of Korean beers, soju, and other traditional drinks. Whether youre a Korean food enthusiast or just looking to try something new, Bori Korean Restaurant is the perfect place to satisfy your cravings.
I asked for the stir-fried pork not to be spicy, and they made it just right, so I enjoyed it. The second time I called to pick it up, the foreigner answered in a very quiet voice and said he couldnt speak Korean, and he couldnt understand Osam Bulgogi, so I kept saying squid and pork in English, but he couldnt understand. Seriously... I was anxious, so I had to look up the English name on the menu again and call again to double check... But when I paid, I saw that the two menu items (Sotteok Sotteok and Osam Bulgogi) together were $4 or more than the menu on Google Maps. This was up. The menu on Google Maps is from 4 months ago. Do they raise prices this often? Anyway, it looks like the Google Maps menu needs an update. When I order over the phone, I look at that and think about the price before ordering, but when I pick it up, I feel like the price is different.
Love their Korean food!!!!
Delicious Korean food-We love this place! The short ribs, garlic soy chicken, and potato pancake are delicious
Really long wait times. Food was good but prices and portions were not satisfactory. Around 20 dollars for a dish that had maybe 2 cups of food?
Authentic, tasty, not greasy, nice variety
Delicious, fair prices, nice service. Will come back
Bori is the BEST Korean restaurant in the lower mainland. Their dishes are so flavourful and the environment is very homey. You can tell they care a lot about their customers, both by their customer service and the thought they put into their food. So many options that I havent seen at other Korean restaurants. A must try!
First of all, when we went and ate it in person, we felt really bad because of the servers unfriendly service, so this time we ordered it through delivery separately, but what we received had seasoning all over it, so we had to clean each item individually, and considering the price, I dont think theres even 5 pieces of meat in the kimchi stew and Osam bulgogi. Its delicious, but its a shame they handled it so well.
Amazing food. Pop dance music for dinner wasnt the best idea, but the food was top shelf and the staff kind and courteous
The food was decent and good portion
Everything was delicious, and in pretty good quantity for the price. Quality of food was great, and presentation of the side dishes was superb! The ambiance was such that it made this the perfect spot for korean restaurant. Would highly recommend! Food
Traditional Korean foods. Satisfied.
After golf... It reminds me of makgeolli from before.
So delicious! Great to have a Korean spot on central Lonsdale, food reminded me of my trip to Seoul - everything we had was super tasty!
Delicious!!! Just a suggestion. The chicken chunks could be more clean. Maybe use chicken breast. It would be a lot better Food
Another (rare) gem on the central Lonsdale area. Cosy comfortable atmosphere. Staff / owners are professional and friendly Menu contains some specials that are worth trying First times there and had 3 dishes : - spicy squid on rice : not too spicy, squid pan seared and rubbed in spice on a bed of coloured rice .. very good - potato pancake: freshly made tonorder, thin and large , cripsy gold, and very tasty for somewhat potato that could sound bland . Try it if you a fan of crispy potato pancake - fried chicked /soy garly : tender pieces 5/6 big ones of chicken in a batter (maybe rice based) gently rubbed and coated in garlic and soy sauce : very good Definitely a go again soon destination Thanks to the chef and the staff. For this pleasant dinner
Very cozy place with delicious food. Servers were very approachable. If youre looking for Korean restaurant, you must try Bori.
Taste is really good.
Nice place, perhaps unfortunately shaded by a large tree out front. Inside was spacious, clean and very well decorated. Overall very quiet & calming, really liked it. Even the washrooms are in excellent order Sure it was empty when we got there, but service was still good. Nice & prompt and really no complaints. Now the food, its great they are offering some stuff that is a bit different than the usual Korean places. Even the side dishes are a bit different. Everything tasted really good. The jeon looked at first they might be a bit greasy but upon tasting them, definitely not. Tastebuds & tummy quite happy. In general prices for most things are very reasonable. I dont understand why the jeon is so pricey but Ill cut them some slack since nobody else is doing anything as good. Definitely recommend, I would come back
Just had my lunch here for the 3rd time! Its very authentic korean taste and setting. Seems like family run and cozy, friendly vibe with korean pop music on. Tried short ribs today! So so delicious! The sauce is especially tasty and rich! The beef was tender. Best to go with some rice. Their side dishes, as appetizers, are refilled very graciously by the staff (or owner?) there. You feel very well taken care of. Last times, i tried tofu soup stew, also very rich in taste and texture, And another dish was bibimbap. The ingredients are all you would expect from an authentic korean bowl. They are all very tasty. Highly recommended!
Cold noodle season is here! It s so refreshing in summer. We also had a bibimbap and small mixed fried set. The fried set was nice mixture of pancakes and jeon. It would be perfect with beer or soju. I found this place versatile could be a quick noodle lunch place, full set dinner place, or Izakaya drinking place. Good selection of foods on menu. Open lunch to 9:30 pm
My husband and I came here to have some lunch. This place has a good vibes, matches with their food. We ordered just two main dishes and it was a big portion. I ordered yukgaejang and my husband ordered tonkatsu. The soup is very savory and lots of ingredients. Tonkatsu is one of the best as it was really crispy outside but still juicy inside. People are pleasant and welcoming. I will come back for sure.
Sorry for folks who are craving for Korean foods Cooks there do not know how to properly cook Korean dishes The foods I tried were either bland or undercooked Food : 1/5
Over price under quality food.
Great food! 4 stars because its expensive (1 potato pancake close to $20 like why) but tasty nonetheless
We stumbled on this restaurant by accident and were delighted to experience an incredibly delicious meal and very warm and friendly service.
Food and presentation was fantastic. I think this place would be more popular if the price was lower for some of the dishes; however, the quality of the ingredients are high relative to other Korean restaurants in Vancouver so can understand the higher pricing. Overall the quality of food is great!
This is our second time here . The food is really good and I feels like I m in Korean best Korean restaurant in Phuket . You guys should try
Literally no service. Sat there for 20 minutes no one bothered to say hello. Got up and left, no reaction either.
I am Korean, and I would say the food here is the most comparable to a typical home cooked meal, in a good way. Most Korean food you d find in popular restaurants (Sura for example) is NOT. If you re basing your view of authentic Korean food on the typical Vancouver Korean restaurant, I m sorry to say that isn t an accurate representation. The service is extremely friendly as well. Their bibimbap and spicy cold noodle are especially good! In response to Mary speed s review in particular, yes this spicy cold noodle IS commonly eaten in Korean households, and no, you re right, I haven t seen it in other Korean restaurants either, but that doesn t mean it isn t Korean. That type of noodle is called somyun, it s not rice vermicelli, it s a wheat flour noodle.
Caring, Clean, Fresh Ingredient, Super Tasty. 11 stars, try it is believing! Just the side dishes makes you finish a !!! Kid-friendliness: Our boys love their side dishes nice and balanced fresh not over acidic just right!
Skiing at Grouse Mountain I found this restaurant by chance while looking for warm Korean food. It was a delicious restaurant. The food was very tasty. I was hungry so I took a quick picture and left a review. I visited this place 3 times during the ski season from December 2022 to February 2023. I went there twice with my family and once to introduce Korean food to my daughters friend (a German friend). It was really delicious that time, so I gave this place 5 stars. And on September 16, 2023, I stopped by for the fourth time to introduce Korean food to Canadians, but I was completely disappointed. The assorted pancakes were cold and oily, the beef bulgogi was salty and tasted like I ordered japchae with 70% glass noodles mixed in, and the yukgaejang (yukgaejang) was so tasteless, this is my first time eating it. In addition, the yukgaejang contained 60% glass noodles, so much so that I thought it was a glass noodles stew. How embarrassing... Im really disappointed in this place... Why do they look at the tip amount when paying? Still, I chose 18%. After making delicious food, shouldn t you hope for what you want? I wonder if the owner has changed. I dont know why there are no customers even though its the weekend. Im taking care of everything. If youre not confident that you can do everything well, you can reduce the menu, or just select a few menu items as todays special menu and cook well. I really dont understand how they sell food that cant be sold for money. So, I am modifying the star rating.
Really tasty, fresh, and home-style Korean food!
Fried chicken was amazing with nice side dishes!
Lots of dishes that you can try. Will come back for sure.
It s such a cute little restaurant, with good food offer and nice and relaxing environment, food was great (sodduk sodduk, fried chicken and Bulgogi). Definitely will come back to this delicious place. Highly recommended!!! Food
Tried this place tonight. Tried assorted pancake, oden tang, short ribs, soft tofu soup - seafood. Assorted pancakes was a nice variety of creative pancakes. The pancakes do not have a strong flavor, but a sweet dipping sauce is served with the pancakes. The soft tofu soup is a flavorful spicy soup. The tofu is soft and the seafood is a quality variety. The oden tang fish cakes may seem simple, but the broth is incredible. We kept trying to figure out what made the broth taste so flavorful and slightly spicy. The spare ribs were cooked just right, tender, and flavorful. I like strong flavors and my wife does not like flavors that are simply salty or sweet. But the creative and richness of flavors pleased both our palates on every dish. The place was not busy on a Friday night - I was surprised considering how good the food is. Parking: Lonsdale has limited street parking. But the time taken searching will be richly rewarded with your meal.
I really enjoyed it. However, the amount of rice was small compared to the price. The soft tofu stew is not spicy, so you have to ask for it to be spicy before ordering. The bibimbap only came with red pepper paste and no sesame oil. To order more, I have to get up and go to the kitchen to ask. It was good quality dishes, but compared to the price, the quantity of the rice was too small. If you like a spicy Jjigae, you should ask to be more spicy ahead. Additional Sashimi oil bottle did not serve, but Gochujang was given. If you want additional services, you should stand up and come to the kitchen to order. It doesn t look like they have a server.
The drinking water smelled and the food wasnt tasty. There is no soup in bibimbap. If it were me, I dont think I would come back again. Food prices are expensive.
Vancouver s best authentic Korean food featuring some home-style dishes. The potato pancake, assorted pancake, rice cake, and japchae were my favourite! We appreciate their service, the restaurant is clean and every dish is made with quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. I can t wait to go back!
What a cozy and cute korean restaurant. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming with clean interior and cute painting on the wall. The server was very friendly and the food was great. Authentic Korean taste. Highly recommend. Food : 5/5
Try the noodle dish! Its surprisingly delicious. Id say, close to traditional style of janchi gooksu. I enjoyed the assorted pancakes. Yet, personally , a bit more crispy wont hurt. Overall, the food was clean and the servers wete extremely friendly.
Came late and ordered the dakdoritang. It does take 40 minutes to cook but well worth it. Hot, flavourful and spicy. Lots of chicken. Great vibe and nice owners.
This is the must! Great service, clean environment, and most importantly food is amazing! Definitely recommend :)
Ridiculously over priced
It tastes bad
This is a Korean restaurant called Bori that has just opened in North Vancouver. First of all, I liked the neatly decorated interior, and while I was waiting for the beef stew and bibimbap that I ordered, several side dishes were served, and they were clean and very delicious. The kimchi was the most delicious Ive ever had, and the pancakes served were amazing. I highly recommend this place for its friendly and excellent service. This is a place I want to visit often in the future.
WOW! The food is hands down some of the best korean food I ve had. We ordered the bibim noodles, bibimbap, and the assorted pancakes. This is going to be a go to spot for me!
Looking for an incredible experience ? This is the place to taste amazing Korean food ; even the side dishes are fantastic Exceptional service included. Enjoy !
Amazing and authentic Korean food, quality service and cute atmosphere. What more can you want? <3
Love this place. just opened and so tasty. Had the chive Pancake and spicy pork bulgogi. Both excellent. Will come back to try more things soon!
Incredible food and impeccable attendance.
Incredible service (Possibly due to us being the only table at the time, I hope they keep it up) in a family-owned restaurant! Food is amazing. We had a variety of dishes including japchae, fried chicken, doenjang soup, and yukgae-jang. Side dishes are awesome as well and some of the best Ive had. One nit-pick is that the cuts of fried chicken used seems to have resulted in the dryer meat
My new favourite Korean restaurant! All the dishes are great and service is also very friendly. Highly recommend!!
Very good Korean food - something you would expect in Koreatown and it is in North Van
I ate at Bori Korean restaurant recently and I was amazed! Their food was delicious and the service was very efficient and friendly. Compared to other Korean restaurants that Ive been to, Bori uses a lot of quality ingredients in their recipes. I would highly recommend their soft tofu soup!
Yukgaejang bibimbap is delicious. It s the best Korean restaurant I ve been to. The amount of assorted pancakes is generous and my kids enjoyed it very much. I didnt have a good place to eat when I went to Nolvan, but I think Ill become a regular. The staff are friendly and I recommend it
So awesome to have a great, local and friendly Korean spot! High quality food and service
Insincere food/service Assorted pancakes vs. too small portions Makgeolli is more expensive than the surrounding area Air rice from Yukgaejang It looks like rice cooked a day ago. The amount is too small.. Yukgaejang contents Just bracken and vegetables... I went twice despite the inconvenience of parking, but was disappointed x 2. Parking: Its very hard...
If you are looking for authentic korean restaurant, this is it. Pancakes were my absolute favourite
Everything was delicious !!!!!
I ve been waiting an authentic Korean restaurant in NV, and Bori is the one. Food and service were awesome. Bori is my go-to Korean restaurant now on.
I am in love. The chive, seafood and kimchi pancakes!! The spicy bulgogi! The kimchi dumplings! The Bibim dumplings! The fried chicken! Everything so fresh, so delicious. The chef is absolutely incredible. I can t rave enough.
Very authentic Korean food. Food quality was good, and service quality was excellent as well. Would definitely come back.
Food so good!
What an amazing place to have lunch. Clean, space between each tables and staff are happy. I loved the Korean Pancake. I plan to go there again eat.
Avoid this pricy, small-portion, unauthentic, low-quality-food and insincere-service restaurant. Simple, newly opened Korean restaurant in north van. We went for dinner on a weekend because there was no wait and we saw pretty good google reviews. The waitress strongly recommended their beef bulgogi instead of beef bibimbap saying that we will get much more beef. Only to find out it s a small dish of little beef with lots of cabbages and onions at $26. The spicy cold noodle was not anything we had experienced in real Korean restaurant either. The noodle was like Vietnamese vermicelli with some chili sauce. Definitely not worth trying. We won t go back again and wont recommend it to anyone. Wondering how come there are many 5 star reviews here, really???!!!
I was very excited about a new Korean place opening up in NV, the price was a bit high but I figured since the place is newly opened, the perfect time to try it would be now. The restaurant is simple and clean, adorn with baskets of orchards to celebrate their grand opening, making me excited for the meal that s about to come. We ordered bulgogi and seafood pancake, food arrived promptly since we were the only table at the time. Portions for the dishes were shockingly small for how pricy the items were, both dishes were also very bland and singular in flavour. The side dishes were below average - radish kimchi was too fermented, bean sprouts were bland, and the garlic chives were far too fibrous to break up with my teeth. Bulgogi ($26) had a sweet and slight soy sauce flavour, onions in the dish were undercooked and nearly raw, 80% of the volume was taken up by glass noodles, cabbage, onions and carrots. Nothing like the juicy, tasty, meaty treat one should expect from proper bulgogi. The seafood pancake ($26) consisted of an even layer of green onion, along with a thin layer of batter, topped with 5 pieces of puny shrimp, same amount of squid, and some strips of imitation crab..to pump up the amount of seafood in this pancake I assume. The edge of the pancake was nice and crispy, but the entire middle was soggy and oily. The dipping sauce the only saving grace of this pancake..was barely passable as it appears to be made of a light soy with sesame seeds. The raving reviews on this restaurant are just downright confusing, some say this is very authentic Korean food. No, that is incorrect, anyone who d set foot in Korea can tell you this food simply cannot compare. Others say the price point is amazing for what you get. I would have to respectfully disagree. Overall, we spent $70 on 2 dishes and left the restaurant unsatisfied. If you are in North Van and in the mood for Korean food, I d recommend Busan Daeji Gukbap on 3rd for their wide variety and tasty flavours, as well as South Castle on 2nd for amazing value and their specialty - soondae.
The $ 40 short ribs had 3 ribs which were mediocre at best. portion size was tiny, not enough for one person.
Delicious and authentic Korean food in North Vancouver! The bibimbap, bulgogi, and kimchi fried rice were phenomenal, and the wait staff were incredibly kind and gracious. Would highly recommend a visit before it gets too popular!
WOW, amazing comfort food! My favourites were the pork bulgogi, kimchi fried rice, corn cheese and of course the dumplings! The dumplings were so delicious, and the salad and sauce that came with it were so tasty. The restaurant had beautiful décor and a nice and relaxing ambiance. Will definitely be coming back!
Bori was amazing from the decor to the food. We tried a few of their main dishes with the chicken being a personal favourite. The sides were fresh and great to have between dishes. Staff were very friendly and quick with our orders. Decor was stylish and made you feel at home and welcomed. It s a bit of a drive for me but I will certainly come back for more!!
Excellent Korean food with the service to match.
First time visit and didnt know what to expect. Menu is small and prices are higher than I was expecting however the food was very good! I would definitely recommend if you are interested in a wonderful taste experience.
Delicious food, great service, comfortable atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you like Korean food!
It was excellent
Ordered on skip Over priced for what we recieved... Small portions... $65 for 2 meals. I ordered the japchae - Noodles with beef and vegetables... There was no beef. Like at all. The Noodles were clumped together and hardly any (if at all) flavor... The chicken was ok - but not spicy... Would not recommend ordering from here. Very disappointed.
This is the best Korean restaurant Ive been to around North Vancouver. The quality of the food is good and service is excellent :)
Delicious food & amazing flavours! Refreshing change from sushi. My kids loved it as well
This place became my favorite ubereat choice. I love their assorted pancake. It taste just like home made. Even for delivery I can tell they really care the customers by how they pack the foods. I try different menus each time; so far we are addicted their Yukgaejang and assorted pancake. I tried Ttekboki first time today. It was amazing! Five stars !! Highly recommend!
