We prepare comfort foods that are an expression of culture, tradition, and memories. We serve the modern twist of traditional Korean cuisine.
The lady who served was kind and the food was fantastic! I tried the hot pot ddeokboki and it was not very spicy and had the right amount of sugar, so it was good. The sweet potato fries that came with it were so delicious! 😋
Absolutely disgusting. 🤢 I ordered the tuna kimchi jiggae. It was so stinky, smelt like rotten fish. The soup itself was SO SALTY!! My lips were stinging a few minutes after I began eating from the ridiculous amount of salt. I paid a whopping 18$ for a bowl of stinky, fishy, salty dirty dishwater. I don’t know who the cooks or owners of this restaurant are, but if the owners and cooks are Korean, I have a question for you guys: Do you have any pride in being South Korean? Do you have any pride in your culture’s cuisine? If you do, why are you fooling customers and serving such rotten, MSG laden, salty food? And calling it “Korean food”? I lived in Seoul so I know how incredible real Korean food tastes. Please don’t go to this restaurant - it’s garbage food.
We enjoyed our meal; the quality was excellent, and the service was pleasant. The atmosphere was nice, but we would have preferred more of an authentic Korean experience regarding the atmosphere. Generally, we’ll go back there again.
Wife and I came to try Bukchon and will definitely return. Service was excellent from our first male server and then from Amy - genuinely nice people. The bulgogi gimbap and ramen deal is great - lots of food and excellent value, not to mention it was delicious. Impressed. Mango Mochis for dessert were the perfect end to the meal.
Great food. Very friendly staff. And excellent service. FYI, though, the MENU HAS BEEN UPDATED. So, lots of the pictures on here are no longer available. I have attached photos of the current menu. We ordered the bibimbap and the soy garlic chicken. Both were absolutely delicious!
Came here for dinner and was surprised the menu changed. It wasn't what I was expecting from their google review images so that was slightly disappointing. It's more like a Korean snack bar. I would say their tteokbokki is a must try! It comes with tempura and is quite filling to share between two people. Servers were friendly!
Did not know what to eat in a Friday evening. Did a Google search for Korean food and this place stood out. Was not sure what to expect. When we got in all the servers are very friendly and kind. ordered the traditional dishes in a Korean restaurant and they were so good. Very authentic , possibly the best seafood pancake i ever had! Very good bibimbap. Food is a bit spicy so you should be aware of that but I do love my spice. Spicy seafood udon was fire. They have some craft beer on tap but next time I should get some Soju! If you like Korean food this place is one of the best in the north shore! Seafood dishes are awesome!
UPDATE OCT 2024: The menu completed changed since I visited last year, so I was a bit disappointed for not being able to get the dish I liked, so me and my 3 other friends ordered fried chicken, 비빔냉면, 뚝불 & 돼지고기 김치찌개. fried chicken & 뚝불 was alright, but 김치찌개 was subpar, and 비빔냉면 was shockingly bad. No taste at all on the noodles, and only thing you could taste is the spicy flavour. I am a believer of no-food waste and I usually dont leave any leftovers, but the 냉면 was so bad that I couldn't finish it. It was the worst one I had in my life pretty much. I have told the server after paying for everything, that the 냉면 needs to improve to be able to sell. Hope it gets better in the future, and I will give one more try ordering other dishes, and I really hope they are good, because this used to be my favourite restaurant before the menu change. Question to the restaurant: did the chef change along with the menu? 2022 REVIEW: A great place for a Korean dinner over a wide selection of drinks on Lonsdale. Could feel a bit pricey, but the food definitely makes up for it. Some menus are not as common as the ones you see at a typical Korean restaurant, and it was exciting to see a few creative dishes. The staff was friendly, and they had variety of dishes for us to use for different type of food we ordered. If you order the spicy stir fried squid, make sure to ask for the fried rice with a remainder sauce! Strongly recommended!
it was much better before they changed the menu, they used to serve whisky too which is a plus because I dont really like beer or soju.
Superb fried chicken Great service Food
The food and service were excellent! We will be back!
Very good food Friendly service Nice atmosphere Food : 5/5
Friendly and delicious.
This Korean restaurant is so unexpectedly delicious! Highly recommend their pancakes, very delicious. The fried chicken can be ordered as a double combo, and it is perfect with the unique strawberry jam. The waiters are very considerate, refilling water and paying the bill in a timely manner, and are always quick to detect customers needs. Definitely worth a little extra tip to praise their service This Korean restaurant was surprisingly delicious! I highly recommend their pancakes theyre amazing. The fried chicken comes with a combo option, and the special strawberry sauce is a perfect match. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive, quick to refill water, and processed payments promptly. They were always aware of the customers needs, definitely deserving of a little extra tip as a compliment
Order of take out TteokBokki + Veg Tempura and the Veg Gimbap, both were excellent. They also included some free shrimp crackers and a discount coupon for next time. I will definitely be back for all Korean food cravings! Can t comment on atmosphere as I had delivery. For future would love to be able to order the TteokBokki alone. :)
This used to be our favorite Korean restaurant in the North Shore. Their bibimbap and fried chicken were our favorites, but we tried many other dishes that were excellent. We went back yesterday and the menu has changed completely. There is no more bibimbap or fried chicken, instead there are different dishes that we are not familiar with. When we mentioned this, they said that theyd changed the menu 3 weeks prior. Nobody recommended any new dishes or explained anything else, so we decided to leave. We probably wont be going back, but still wish them all the best for the future! Edit: I walked past the restaurant the other day and saw that the fried chicken and bibimbap are back on the menu! I ordered online and the chicken was a bit dry, but it was good.
False advertising Ordered grilled pork, the menu shows meat with mixed grilled veggies. (no description) Turns out it was only lettuce with meat. When mentioned to the staff they just said it changed Very convenient changing mixed grilled veggies for only lettuce. Overpriced meat with lettuce for 30 dlls
Fried chicken is very good. Juicy and crispy. Soft tofu is good, too
Portions are huge and prices reasonable. Definitely recommended!
Maybe I m just used to Toronto, but every restaurant in Vancouver are very generous with the topping ingredients. Got the soon tofu stew, and I think they put way too much tofu (which I really appreciated ) Chicken had room to improve since there are so many other great chicken spots in Vancouver. Overall not a bad restaurant.
I ordered me and my partner takeout and they only delivered one meal and aren t answering there phone. Never ordering here again a waste of money.
This place was SO GOOD! I am from Alberta and I will definitely be back again!! Our waiter was outstanding too!!
This restaurant is amazing. Their Kimbap is so authentic and their noodles is delicious. The staff are also very friendly I highly recommend Bukchon for anyone who is craving Korean food.
This hidden gem is amazing! The food is delicious! The service is excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant. I dragged my boyfriend there. He was impressed with the cleanliness inside and of the windows. As a chef, he maintains that clean windows mean a clean kitchen. Hes a meat and potatoes guy, but he enjoyed the Spicy Seafood Noodles which contained more seafood than he thought they might. I was ecstatic over the Crispy Tofu Salad. The tables are a bit close together because its small inside, but the food is delicious! My mouth waters when I think of it. Love, love, love this place. Wheelchair accessibility: Its at street level. No stairs.
My wife and I visited here a few days ago. The food was okay, but the servers talked about the clients (we do not appear korean but are able to understand korean). It felt like they, especially the woman, were too talkative so it was hard to focus on eating. I do not recommend dining here to people who just want to enjoy their food in peace. Takeaway is recommended instead.
It was first time to visit here. The food was amazing, server was also kind. Definitely will visit again! :)
The food here is delicious! Especially the LA galbi, its so tasty! Must come and try it! The staff here are also pretty and friendly, and the store is clean too! zn Food
Bukchon is so good. I want to come back again. Especially, Osambulgogi is the best. The server is so kind and pretty Ps. ZN
Super friendly staff, huge portions, and delicious food. Everything was amazing and fresh. The beef bulgogi and kimchi in particular were really good.
Place is great. Food is fantastic and the service is out of this world good.
I ate Bossam! It was so delicious!! The restaurant is clean and the servers are very friendly. I will come back to try other foods!!!!
I ordered Osam bulgogi, seafood kalguksu, and tteokbokki, but all three dishes werent seasoned properly. I went from afar after seeing a review somewhere that said it was delicious...
BRING BACK THE FRIED CHICKEN PLEASE
The food are so delicious my grandma really enjoy it. This restaurant is highly recommended.
This used to be my go-to place for Korean foods but not anymore. The menu has been updated with less meal options. The octopus in the octopus soup was not soft, and I could taste excessive MSG. Im removing this place from my favorites.
The food is neat and delicious.
Great food in a cozy and clean restaurant, what more could you ask for.
Bukchon was my favourite Korean restaurant. Like others have mentioned, I was saddened and disappointed when I came in one day and saw the menu change. The Korean fried chicken was unbeatable and everything else we ve tried was amazing. Upon learning that the chicken and our other faves were removed from the menu, we got up and left. Really hope they get the old chef back and change back the menu one day
Delicious Korean food restaurant. Generous portion sizes, as a group of 4 we spent around $25 each and had a huge meal with leftovers. Highly recommend the Bibimbap and Korean Fried Chicken. Both are large portions and very yummy. Service was incredible, regularly refilling tea and offering kimchi on the house. Ambience is very casual and comfy. Would definitely come back here!
Highly recommended handmade beef kalguksu
I really enjoyed the yeonpotang and grilled squid with cheese. As the weather gets colder, I think of Yeonpotang even more. It also reminds me of aged kimchi as a side dish. And the staff was really friendly, so I enjoyed my meal even more. When the weather gets a little warmer, Ill go eat yeonpotang again. Merry Christmas
Staff was unfriendly. Food was okay. Expected much more from the high ratings!
Its so delicious If you ask for it to be more spicy, they make it deliciously spicy.
The Food here is 4 stars. The Service is why it got 3 instead. The menu offers many fresh takes on familiar korean dishes. I loved the seafood udon stirfry I had, although I would say its MUCH hotter than advertised. As in: I was sweating my way through it by the end. My gf had a Bibimbap which looked great. We split the crispy wontons as a starter. They were also well done. The drink list featured many unique items and I felt they were all reasonably priced. I felt as though individual portion sizes were perfect. Unfortunately this is where my praise ends. I know these guys are newer on the block, but service wise: theres plenty to improve on. For starters, we came with 2 other guests. 2 of the people at our table of four were almost finished their main dishes by the time the items for the other two people finally arrived. Food for a table should be brought all at once, not halfway through half the guests being done theirs. Im also less than impressed when I am given a menu thats stained with food from previous guests. When one of us asked for a side of kimchi with the Bibimbap, we were told they dont usually serve it on the side. This must be the first Korean place wed been to where Kimchi just wasnt served on the side with a Bibimbap. Imagine ordering french fries at a pub and being told malt vinegar wasnt something freely given as a side if you asked. Lastly, our servers never checked on us to see if the food was good, or if we needed anything. We had to make a point to ask for water. Another thing usually just given freely when you sit down. At the end we sat and waited and waited for our bill when it was pretty abundantly clear the four of us were finished. If there were also daily specials, none of them were told to us. Service left a lot to be desired. Especially if a bill comes to nearly a hundred bucks at the end for 2 people. Overall, I was satisfied with the food itself which was expertly prepared. However, front of house service couldve been better. I will gladly return as its in the neighborhood, hopefully service will get better with time. Turn your ambient lights down at dinner. Parking: Plenty of street parking surrounding the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: There are seating options for children the staff can accomodate for. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is a street level walk-up. A wheelchair will easily make it inside.
Great Korean Fried Chicken!
Fried chicken is amazing. The squid soup tastes great.
Very happy with this place. Kind of walked in randomly and was well rewarded. Great food, fair price (amazing in todays world of shrinkflation), good quality, so super delicious, friendly and prompt service... What more can I say? The only reason I didnt give a 5 for atmosphere was because I was by the window and there was a definite draft and I get cold easily... But, as you can see, now Im being picky. Cant wait to go back and try more items from the menu!
Amazing food
The best Korean restaurant in Vancouver! I highly recommend visit and order Stir-fried Octopus!! Mugyo-dong stir-fried octopus is really delicious. I just ate it and I want to eat it again The owner and the servers were all friendly and not too noisy, which was nice. Please keep this business going for a long time ~~~
The best restaurant ever! Tasty and services. Hands down. Its truly the best restaurant. Service and taste are the best! Manager, Big Rose and Little Rose are the best!!!! I will come again when I come to Nolvan!!!!
Todays Yukgaejang My mother says its spicy, but I think its the most delicious Yukgaejang Ive had since coming to Canada. I would say that the taste is by far the best among Noven Korean restaurants.
My expectations were too high after seeing the reviews. The food was so-so, the service was okay. It was a bit disappointed at how much we paid for it. Unfortunately, I may not come back here. I wouldnt recommend it to people, either.
Very good korean restaurant the price is correct and its homemade
Totally enjoyed this place. I will definitely come back.
Food was good, I would recommend the chicken. The octopus soup tasted average (smelled strongly of bonito flakes) and expensive. Their kimchi was above average (much better than what you usually get in Vancouver)
This place is amazing It is a restaurant that serves luxurious Korean food. I highly recommend it.
Wow just wow! food was excellent! It tasted very fresh and was able to tell that the chef put good efforts to create these dishes. Raw beef was tender and yummy. Pork bbq was top notch with best side dishes. Sauce was awesome. They used real wasabi to make the sauce. Its rare for a restaurant to do that. Price was excellent compared to foods that you get. I would definitely pay 7 to 10 dollars more at this Korean restaurant. I hope they keep this taste in later years in the business. What a gem in North van. It was hard to find good Korean restaurants over the bridge. But this restaurant made it work. Good job
Very excellent taste here! Fried items are very fresh and crispy. Yum! Beef rice top notch. Seafood pancake is also a great recommendation.
Spicy sizzled octopus was so over-cooked! We didn t end up eating any of the $40 dish, and we let the waiter know that we couldn t chew it - super hard to swallow. Tasted like frozen, over-cooked octopus. The chef said that s how it s supposed to be, but we ve ordered this dish at many other Korean restaurants before and it s never been like this! The high rating is so misleading. We made a trip to this place and were so disappointed.
I recommend getting a reservation if you plan on eating here on a Friday. My husband and I arrived at 6:30 pm and didnt get out until 8:30 pm. I wouldve enjoyed the meal better if it came a little faster.
Very slow service and food was cold. Tough to watch tables around you arrive later and get food first. Vegetarian options: Very little vegetarian options. Basicslly salad.
Waited over an hr to get the appetizer...and others who came in later received their meal before us. Food was cold...not impressed for a white dude who lived and ate korean in Seoul for yrs. Movin on to my next seoulfood experience hoping its better with hot food in under a half hour!! We review restaurants around the world...not sure how our google partner rated this at 4.8 but looking into it
I am careful to say that it is the best Korean food I have had in Vancouver. I ordered yeonpotang, grilled pork ribs, and seasoned whelk... I was very full, but I thought the green onion pancake would go well with eating the whelk, so I ordered more... It was really delicious and went well with it~ Even though I was full, it was still delicious haha. Its not far from here, so I would go there often... but thats a shame.
I wonder if this place is meaningful as a regular. The servers and chef are very good, but I have doubts if I visit often. As a frequent customer, I feel like I have no value in this place. I want to go, but I dont want to go...
The best Korean dishes in Vancouver!
Rude owner
Very bad services, no actually no service! Food services very slow. Their sever recommend can beer , chicken tasty too dry . The pork rice is not like being cooked new and the leaves(salad) are not fresh too.I choose here because it is close, but I wont go again. I dont recommend it.
Order from here every now and then. First time i tried a Salmon Katsu Burger. Absolutely bombs.
North shore needed a place like this! They are open till midnight and serve Korean Izakaya kind of food and drink. We really enjoyed the foods and our servers were really nice and helpful. Would love to come back and try their Korean burgers!
One of the best food and service in town
Waited 50min for food, and it came out cold. Not even the appetizers came. The kitchen is definitely not equipped to handle busy night. Every table had their food served super late, and they are still doing take out orders. If the kitchen can t handle the load, then they shouldn t do take out orders. Servers were apologetic as they know it s the kitchen s fault. Won t go again.
Most decent reasonably priced Korean restaurant in metro Vancouver I would say. As a Korean whos been cooking and eating Korean food all my life, I am not easily impressed by a Korean restaurant food, usually lack of flavour and using wrong ingredients, or overpriced. However, Bukchon has obtained beyond expectation about Korean restaurant. Some of the dishes are even way better quality than those in Korea, for example, Golbaengi muchim, and Beef Tartare Cold Noodle. I really appreciate Bukchon and its staffs for doing fantastic job bringing real Korean spirit.
Super loud place, even the music, but the food is amazing and the staff are friendly and efficient.
The service and food were both very good!!
The stir-fried fish is a bit spicy but very satisfying. A taste you won t regret eating with spicy pork belly!
Had lunch with my folks there today. Food was authentic, tasty and not greasy. Customer service was exceptional. Time was taken to describe each dish and how best combined with side dishes for optimum experience. Homemade kimchi was so yummy, they gave us extra! KFC was perfect, crispy pork belly, best seafood scallion pancake and tasty octopus soup! Give this place a try, worth going and for us, we will definitely go back, our new favourite! Thank you Bukchon, we were very happy and are looking forward to our leftovers!!
Delicious and kind staff. No reason to complain.
Well deserved one star Pros: food is spicier than avg like the kick Con: like several others have mentioned food is extremely slow waited for an hour for the cold noodle. Grilled pork jowl is cold and super salty. Have to ask for water refill and no apology after complain about the slow food. Waiter showed attitude when I asked when my food will be ready. How does restaurant like this survive this competitive market .
Vegetarian options: They have some vegetarian Noodles and spring rolls.. in their menu. Food
You must try the seasoned whelk here. Its not a canned whelk, its a real whelk. Theres a lot in it.
Bukchon definitely has thought about the presentation of the dishes. They look so nice when they land on the table! The food tastes delicious and fresh. I like how the seafood was cooked as the squid rings, mussels, shrimp and scallops were so tender and not overcooked! Theyve got quite a few creative and different Korean dishes than other typical Korean restaurants so we would like to come back and try other dishes next time!
Five star service! The dishes were a hit or a miss, although happy enough for this Korean fusion in North Van :) The crispy tofu salad turned out to be the star of the show. the seafood pancake was good though not amazing. We prefer the one at Bori on 20th st. the cold noodles were good BUT the beef tartare that came with it was frozen we had to thaw it up in the sizzling pan lol would not recommend the 45$ spicy squid thing. Lot of unchewable pieces and the whole thing was too spicy to be eaten alone. Wish they suggested rice when we ordered. Would come back because it s in the neighborhood to try other dishes!
Just awsome!
Amazing small Korean place for traditional favorites with a modern twist. We had the shabu shabu pork salad, seafood pancake and pork belly. All were incredible flavors and presentations, too much food for two people, so we have leftovers. Very attentive but not pushy service, relaxed atmosphere.
Great food!
We wanted to try something new. First time having Korean food. It was a very nice experience. The atmosphere was intimate and cosy. Food was good. No complaints.
Did not expect the burger to be this delicious!
This is my first time writing a google review because I was treated unfairly at this store today. Today my friend and I wanted to come to this store with great anticipation to taste. Because the weather was nice, we wanted to sit outside. From the time we sat down to the time the waiter came to give us the menu, about 15 minutes had passed and no glass of water was given to us during that time. But I could see the waiters inside serving the customers inside. It took another 10 minutes before a waitress brought out the food for the take-out customers and we were able to call her and tell her that we could order. But thats when the most annoying thing happened, she told me if you want to eat, you have to wait 40 minutes because there are many customers inside. I hope the staff at this restaurant can reflect on whether there is discrimination.
Amazing food and amazing staff. We had two lovely servers tonight, very friendly and recommended great dishes. We will be back soon for sure! Great experience all around!
This is a solid 3+. Good service, large portions, decent quality ingredients, but my dish (bibimbap) was overly sweet.
Spicy Pork Don is the best, but Beef sashimi was disappointing. I would try other menus too. I hope this place has a draught beer too.
Ive had dinner at Bukchon on two occasions, and each time Ive been impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the exceptional taste of their dishes, especially when compared to other Korean restaurants on the North Shore. When you order a meal, you also receive a variety of banchan side dishes, which adds to the overall dining experience. Friday nights seem to be quite busy, which is a testament to its popularity. For those who are not accustomed to spicy food, I would highly recommend trying the Beef Bibimbap. It offers a delightful combination of flavors without being overly spicy. Additionally, if you are new to Korean cuisine, I suggest visiting their website beforehand to get an idea of what the dishes look like. Unfortunately, the menus at the restaurant do not have pictures, but the website can provide a helpful visual reference. Overall, Bukchon is a fantastic choice for a Korean dining experience, with its fresh ingredients, flavorful dishes, and fair prices. Finding parking close to the restaurant is a little tough on a Friday night, but still one of the better Korean restaurants on the North Shore.
Had the monster burger, spicy tuna sashimi , deep fried chicken and a pint of draft beer. Very good
The food was absolutely delicious and the service excellent. I had fried oysters which were SO good and it was a generous portion, which was such a nice surprise. The fried chicken, bibimbap and eggplant appetizer were amazing. Also loved that there was housemade kimchi at the table. I love Korean food and have been to many Korean restaurants and this is definitely my new favourite.
Nice location, great Asahi, tasty food, friendly staff, good service, affordable prices. Thank you and see you soon!
The restaurant is clean and spacious between tables. Food is decent. We ordered the chicken gizzard karaage, abalone steak and beef bibimbap. Unlike other Korean restaurants that allow the customer to add the hot sauce to adjust the spicy level they want, they put the hot sauce with the bibimbap without checking with us at the time of order on the desired spice level. It s way too hot for my liking and the three star reflects the lack of communication.
Good!
Our family visited here for the first time and blown away by the service and food quality!! Id say this place easily wins the best Korean restaurant award!! Our guest from Korea were impressed and said foods were better in Korea. Weve had Yook GaeJang, Yeon-Po Tang, Nakji bbokeum, and Gajaemi. Every single dish was great and they make you the fried rice after the Nakji bbokeum. It was wonderful and the server was absolutely kind and best serving weve seen in awhile, no doubt! We went around 2 Pm and it was super breeze. Not busy so we really enjoyed overall experience!!
Best fried chicken
The best Korean restaurant ever!!!! Wish its closer to my house!
Service was tentative . The fried sole is the best! Highly recommended. Food : 4/5
Everything was great, food and service but Id I have to pick one it would be food portion for one serving
Beautiful food, paired with happy and friendly staff! Thanks chef.
Came here because we were craving Korean, and it did not disappoint. The ladies who work here are super sweet and accommodating, even when it s very busy during the dinner rush.
Fried chicken is good and the servers are very nice and helpful. First time think of tips is worthy.
It was our first time dining at this restaurant. We chose the patio seats with our dog there. We ordered the pork on lettuce dish, mussel and clam soup, and seafood pancake. Everything was so delicious and beautifully plated. Such a treat. Thank you. We will be back.
My wife and I visited there a few days ago for our first time after hanging out in North Van. We werent sure if we were allowed to bring our dog(mid-large sized lab mix) to the patio. The lady who I believe is the owner of the restaurant was very welcoming. Thankfully, we didnt have to risk leaving our dog inside the car. The service from both the owner and the server was great, so as the food. All the food came out pretty fast and we personally liked their chicken better than BBQ chicken/ Chicko chicken which weve always had, and thought it would be amazing if they open up one in Richmond. The chicken with honey lemon(?)/sour cream was impressive. Something Ive never tried before. So I highly recommend this place if you ever hang out in North Van. Thanks again!
The food was over priced, and the taste was not as good as expected.
Excellent authentic Korean food and a great choice for late night eats (they close at midnight). We had the seafood pancake, spicy noodles, and Agedashi eggplant and it really hit the spot at 11pm after coming into North Van from the ferry terminal. Delicious, delicious, delicious!!!
The food is great, the service is disappointing. The last two times I ve been the first dish took more than 30 minutes to arrive with 5 to 10 minutes between the other dishes. Both times they forgot one dish and at our last visit after almost an hour of waiting we just cancelled the last dish.
Im from Seattle. I stopped by by chance and the food, atmosphere, and service are great^^. Stir-fried fish... fiery spicy flavor, yeonpo-tang... I have never seen anything like this in Seattle. The service mindset of the staff is different. The smiling faces make you have a very pleasant time. Highly recommended!!
Amazing food and lovely staff. Loved their Bibimbap and Crispy Samgyeopsal along with the local Makgeolli. Definitely coming back again to try more of their menu. Food
One of the best restaurants on Lonsdale. Absolutely love all 4 flavours of fried chicken thighs and the grilled ika with Wasabi mayo is amazing.
Maybe made wrong choice the food doesn t taste good.
We enjoyed the Korean fare. The servers were very helpful and friendly. The servings were BIG! A good evening out.
Decent place and food, one of the drawback is menu without photos, hard for people who s not familiar with Korean food to order
The ambience was such it took away from the food and service. Deep fried sole w rice and dipping sauce made up the meal.
Great place, nice staff, amazing food Kid-friendliness: Has things kids will eat that arent spicy Food : 5/5 |
The three of us ordered three dishes. The fried chicken can be paired. The taste is okay, but there is more chicken skin. The seafood pancake tastes good but there are too many green onions. The udon noodle soup has Korean seasoning and is moderately spicy. Overall, its quite satisfactory. In addition, the service is attentive and the food is large enough. Kid-friendliness: The environment is good and suitable for children. Childrens tableware will be prepared.
Good food
BEST Yukgaejang I ever had!!!! When I went and ate it, I was surprised at how delicious it was and how friendly they were, but when I ordered beef stew through delivery, it was crazy.. The portions were huge and it was so delicious May you prosper
Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.
Delicious food and friendly & efficient service. Thank you!
I recommend.
What be more can I say!
Great food, great service!
Celebrated with family and was my first time here. Service was good and fast. Food was really good and serving was hefty. Will come back again soon
So glad we found this place! Excellent wholesome food (even the KFC!) authentic but appeals to everyone s tastes. Friendly service, highly recommended!
Excellent taste, good, recommed to you
A great new place to get your classic bar fare with a fusion twist! Dont mistake this one for the original Jordan Sushi location (which has moved to 155 15th), this location is for bar food/comfort food and drinks. We got the deep-fried oysters, shabu shabu pork salad, pork galbi don and the Korean monster BBQ burger - all super delicious with a great balance between light/sweet and savoury so the food doesnt feel heavy. Theres also a solid cocktail menu (with adorable names)! We tried the yo-so-pine and the melon one and loved them both, they were super fun to look at and taste. Will definitely be coming back to try out more of the items!
They served perfect portion and quality of food. Atmosphere also nice. In particular, i would say customer service was appreciate!
I ordered the beef tartare cold noodles and shared the sweet & spicy and honey butter fried chicken with my friends! The beef tartare was very refreshing, and cold noodles were a good amount of spicy. I really enjoyed the fried chicken, especially the honey butter flavour. The honey butter flavour comes with a yummy dipping sauce too :)
I came here with my friends and had the pork don and it was amazing! Great portion size and great taste.
You can get a really delicious Korean food here. The chef is Korean and they make really good food. I loved the fried chicken and the seafood noodles.
This is by far the best option for authentic Korean food on the North Shore. Outstanding service and food. Generous portions for reasonable prices. Every dish we had was beyond expectations. Some were best I ve had outside Korea. Great selection of beer and soju cocktails. Will definitely be back!
Delicious food and drinks! Lovely service, definitely recommend trying the new location!
Classy Korean comfort food! Great service, fantastic food, huge selection of craft beers, and intriguing cocktails. Every menu item is the right choice. We ll be back very soon.
Great food and drinks. Had the KFC, noodles and salmon burger and it was all delicious! Very glad this is in the neighbourhood
So delicious and great place So delicious and friendly The best restaurant in Nolvan
All the dishes we had were superb. Honey butter lemon fried chicken goes well with beer or even cocktail. And Beef tartare is so good, melts in the mouth. If you are in for late night snack, try any noodle on the menu. We ordered beef tartare cold noodle and Nagasaki jjamppong. They are amazing.
Excellent food and great service. The food here made me happy and great family restaurant for early dinner. I will come back to try another menu soon.
Its a place I want to go back to because of its simple and clean location, delicious food, and friendly customer service.
Unique, tasty Korean food. Kinda amazed how fast my Salmon burger came out considering how good it was. Decent portion too. :)
The balance of taste, pairing with beer, and freshness of ingredients were very impressive. Chefs skills are so good I would like to thank the chef and servers who introduced me to this restaurant.
It is awesome! I am pretty sure that this is one of best places in the world you can taste fried chickens and fusion style of Korean food. I recommend this place for every ages because everybody can enjoy!! Plus, kind and professional chefs and staff!!
What was Jordan sushi has come back as a Korean bar + restaurant and it is excellent (the sushi is around the corner on 15th, so you wont miss out). But this Korean bar is a place you want to go to spend time in - to eat, to drink, and to socialize. The staff is friendly and they are there for you. The menu had a good range of popular Korean dishes, created beautifully. The photos of the dishes do not lie - they are served looking and tasting as good as the pictures. There are many seafood choices, and also Korean chicken and burgers, and many other things, too (but thats what caught my eye). The two of us who went to dinner tested the chicken and the Monster burger and were extremely impressed. The chicken came in a large portion (enough to share) with a beautiful crisp light crust. It was just the chicken, so you might want to share your meal to get more, but there really is a lot on is own. The burger impressed with the size and the taste - the meat was soft and flavour-packed the sauces were delicious, the bun excelled and the huge onion rings and lettuce added way more to the meal than I expected. The salad was a small lettuce blend with sliced grape tomatoes and a tasty dressing with Asian influences that paired very nicely with the different types of greens, specially the slightly bitter ones. Im kind of interested in seeing the fries, but I dont know if I could finish them all, so I might just stick with the salad next time. The drinks came in cans and bottles, which works well with the feel of the room. The glasses matched the beers, in brand and shape, and considering the cans had more than 1 glass in them I was very happy. Im very used to seeing tap beer in restaurants, but I have to say Im happier with the cans and bottles here. There were a lot more drinks in the menu than just beer, too, so you could stay a long time and not be bored. The prices are good; they make the printed menu more appealing and the portions make them excel. The happiness I got from that burger will be on my mind for a while - and I really want to try more things, too - so I will be looking at returning soon.
Great burger

Great food and service
We celebrated my partner s birthday at Jordan Kitchen + Bar on the weekend and had a wonderful time! The food was delicious, the restaurant had a cozy ambience, and the service was exceptional! We live in the neighbourhood and we will definitely become regulars at this lovely restaurant!
I love the cozy atmosphere here. The staff is incredible. Highly recommend!
It was so, so delicious It turns out that the chef is really good at cooking!! Stir-fried Mugyo-dong Fish + Flat Dangmyeon is a great combination!! 24-hour sous vide pork belly, Nagasaki Jjamppong, desserts, and even cocktails are perfect!! Be sure to eat homemade desserts I will come often in the future :)
Absolutely delicious. Great date night spot and good happy hour!
really good food
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and great service. Lots of flavour and fresh ingredients in what I ordered - beef bibimbap and seafood scallion pancake.
Used to be a sushi restaurant, now a fresh Korean bar.
One of the best restaurant experiences on the North Shore. The menu has a ton of different delicious, unique options. Very reasonably priced and easily some of the best Korean food I ve had, and that s in comparison to some fine dining I ve experienced in Seoul. They also have a great happy hour menu, fantastic cocktails, and overall it s one of my new favourite restaurants. Do yourself a favour and check it out- I will be back again, and again, and again. Can t say enough good about it.
Good service and food
Pretty good drink selection. We arrived for Happy Hour and the menu was extensive. We got the Shrimp Wontons and the Korean Chicken. The wontons came with Sweet Chili sauce and the Korean Chicken was boneless pieces. The chicken was most batter and the sauce was very much like sweet chili sauce. We wanted to try things so we got the Spicy Pork Don bowl and the Rice Bomb. The pork bowl was delicious. Sadly, the sauce was more sweet chili sauce, but the dish was still good. If we were smart, we would have split this after the appetizers, but we still had the rice bomb. Three rice bomb was tofu, vegetables, and tofu in (again) a sweet chili sauce. The contents were delicious and its served with vegetable tempura. Way too much for us. Well be more selective with our order to balance the sweet and savory dishes. Also, one entree between two people would have worked for us.
Very delicious and enough amount of food. Servers were very nice as well. I hope it gets more popular.
Delicious food and great service!
I can validate the other great reviews as I was able to experience it myself. Service is effective, fast and the waitresses are responsive. The place is clean, well kept, clean and organized. As for the food, the portion sizes are good enough for 2-3 people, taste great and they are not kidding when they say its spicy. Some of my friends who have low heat tolerance wasnt able to take my Tteokbokki dish. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would love to recommend it to you
My expectations for the food was high based on the ratings. However, I found the food greasy. Shellfish was cold and rubbery. Overall underwhelmed.0
What a great experience, across all dimensions. Thank you! We will be back.
The most luxurious Korean bistro in Vancouver
Very special and delicious
Not bad, but we have had better. Not a place that Halmoni and Harabeoji would like.
A top-tier place for eating modernized Korean comfort food. This is my first restaurant in Vancouver as a tourist and I can definitely claim Bukchon is highly competitive with the Korean joints in LA and NYC. The setting, vibe, and service was good and the food is even better. I was happy to switch between the fried chicken, spicy seafood noodles, the beef tartare, and others with my party. Its hard to find a restaurant thats so versatile and does it well.
The halibut is huge and delicious. Never tasted like this Grapefruit juice is the best taste in the world. really tasty. It would be nice to have a restaurant like this in Surrey.Thank you to the president who made this Bukchon.Highly recommended, there is no disappointment, so I strongly recommend a visit.
Friendly and helpful service, outstanding Korean dishes.
This place never disappoints! I have tried so many things and have been blown away each time as I m new to Korean food! I had the beef tartar bipmbap and Tteokbokki! And everything was amazing! The Tteobokki had such a great sauce I dipped all the other food in the sauce! This place never disappoints!
Amazing place we stumbled upon! Great food and amazing service :)
The staff were friendly and the food was delicious! The Yeonpo-tang had a light and refreshing taste of shellfish, octopus, radish, and cabbage, and the Mugyo-dong stir-fried octopus had spicy and crunchy vegetables and the chewy texture of the noodles! Both octopuses were really plump, soft, and delicious~
It was delicious.. The raw fish cold noodles were very unique and delicious. I guess I should go often..
Excellent little spot for a delicious meal. Very attentive staff and the food was delicious and very well priced. They took the time to explain the food best way to eat it as we had not tried some of the dishes before. Not an over-whelming menu with too many items. Nicely laid out and good descriptions. Highly recommend!
We ordered the monster burger and it was great. Very nice staff! We enjoyed our time there. We re definitely going back again.
Visiting Vancouver this week, and found them coincidentally looking for hearty meal to close the day. 2 kids and 2 adults. We had spicy seafood noodle, seafood upon noodle soup, beef bibimbap, fried sole fish, chicken wings and chicken gizzard karage. Really great authentic cuisine and friendly patient staff! Definitely recommended, clean restaurant with tables really well spaced apart.
Incredible local Korean jewel. Finest cuisine for those who experienced the best
Best of best!!
The environment and service are very good. Recommend the raw beef
