AkbarJoojeh is one of the traditional Persian dishes that roots in Northern Iran. AkbarJoojeh has become an international franchise, and we are honoured to serve these old-fashioned Iranian dishes to customers in Canada.
The interior is so beautiful and kebabs are delicious. We took a risk and ordered artichoke stew which I didn’t like. It tasted like celery stew but I like the original one more. Morasa polo was good, a huge portion which comes with two pieces of neck. I would suggest making portion sizes smaller, and reducing prices instead.
If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Iranian cuisine, Akbar Joojeh on Lonsdale Street is the place to go! The food is absolutely exceptional, and every bite feels like a journey back to Iran. Their juicy and flavorful grilled chicken, served with their signature pomegranate sauce, is truly unforgettable. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Every visit here has been a delightful experience. Akbar Joojeh has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Vancouver. I highly recommend it—you won’t be disappointed!
Their new location (this branch) was beyond my expectations. Fantastic Iranian vibe. Carefully chosen interior design and decoration. Great food taste and quality. and as always great staff. The only minor thing is that they were playing upbeat music. If I were them, I would play older Iranian songs like the other branch
Absolutely delicious! The whole place smells fantastic! I especially loved dipping my kebabs in the yogurt sauce. Plenty to share and we still have leftovers that I’m looking forward to for lunch today. We will be back. Thank you!
Went here for dinner with the family as the food photos caught my wife's attention and it seemed like an unusual hole in the wall. Most of the cooking is visible at the front of the restaurant with dining in the back and there was a frequent turning of tables. Probably the biggest surprise at the restaurant was the portions and the food. For what you pay for, the portions are generous. Furthermore the food is fantastic, well seasoned as the beef kebab and shank were very soft and tender. Chicken tasted great but parts were a little dry. Staff were pretty attentive and it was pretty easy to pay. Definitely would come back another time.
The food was amazing—so full of flavor, and everything was cooked to perfection. The staff made the experience even better with how friendly and welcoming they were. I’m already excited to come back and try more from the menu. Definitely one of those spots you want to keep coming back to!
Joojeh is indeed great. I don't give 5 stars lightly.. But the food here deserves 6. Quite clearly cooked with heart and they definitely didn't skimp on ingredients. Food taste authentic and delicious. Portions were generous to say the least - I came for dinner but left with enough to last till lunch the next day. Service staff were friendly, polite and attentive to the point the tip felt well earned. Akbar Joojeh stands peerless in Lonsdale Avenue.
I recently visited Akbar Joojeh Restaurant at 1604 Lonsdale Avenue, and I loved it! The food was so delicious and full of authentic Persian flavors. Their menu is super helpful, with beautiful photos of the dishes that make it easy to pick what you want. The restaurant has colorful chandeliers, traditional Persian decorations, and a cozy, welcoming feel. The staff were really friendly, and the service was quick and smooth. If you’re looking for great Persian food in North Vancouver, this is the place to go.
Akbar Joojeh is an amazing restaurant with fantastic food and a welcoming atmosphere! The flavors are rich, and everything is prepared to perfection. What made our experience even more memorable was the exceptional service provided by Hediyeh and Paniz. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience!
God bless your business.
We always visit Akbar Joojeh Restaurant and have good experiences, but recently *Hediye*and* Paniz* have been providing the best service. These two always ensure we are well taken care of, and our meals are always delicious. We truly appreciate their efforts and kindness. Thank you
best check ever!
Akbar Joojeh offers a pleasant dining atmosphere with respectful management and staff. However, if you re not opting for their signature chicken dish, there are other restaurants in Vancouver that might better suit your preferences.
Good service and delicious food
Fantastic food and service. It s also very cozy. We ll definitely be back soon.
Hediye was awesome! The food here is delicious and so filling. We had shirazi salad and vaziri. Amazing.
Had a great service from HEDIEH,asked for pomegranate paste and I received more than enough
The food is so delicious! Best Persian restaurant in Vancouver. Food
Good food and uniquely served.. different sauces and tastes great .. server .. heria was kind enough to attend us and other servers also gave great service
The food is good, and you dont need to tip here because the owner will take the tips, workers cant take the tips
Hediye was amazing, attentive and friendly. Had so much fun :) good food quality.
Great service and food. They also have the most delicious pomegranate paste as well (they even gave us some to go)
We visited the restaurant on Saturday night, and even though it was late, the waitress, Hedieh, provided exceptional service with a warm and friendly attitude. Her attention to detail and positive energy were truly commendable. Thank you, Hedieh, and the amazing restaurant team for such a wonderful experience!
Unparalleled Excellent service
Low quality of food compared with the other similar restaurants. No special Akbar Joojeh recipe we have in Iran. The chicken was very dry and overcooked.Koobideh was very small .wasting time and money .will never back
Truly professional in every level of service. This place always gives us such joy and great mood. The food is top quality and always delicious!!
I ordered Ubereats of the Akbarjoojeh and it is very good. The north Persian dish certainly had strong hints of butter and pomegranate molasses. The rice was portioned very nicely too. Overall strongly recommend.
super delicious.
Ive been to this restaurant twice. I had Akbar-Loghmeh both of the times. The atmosphere is so great with the persian music and beautiful decorations as well as very nice and friendly staff. I was served by Hedieh and I am so happy about my experience with her. Also, prices are very competitive for the amount of food that you get. The food itself was so delicious and high quality. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Honestly high expectations but worst and disgusting food. I feel like puking after eating it. It tastes like they marinated the meat with green tea and horrible rice. Service and atmosphere is not bad but food is horrible. First and last. I prefer granville kebab, yass grill and afghan chopan
Food and service was great.
Great food, excellent service highly recommend!
The food quality is outstanding, with excellent customer service and reasonable prices. Its a welcoming and friendly place. I highly recommend it!
The food was great, but the service needs improvement. We received our food but were not provided with cutlery, and we had to wait for water until after our food arrived. Additionally, the server forgot to bring our drinks.
I apologize for having to write this review, but I have to tell the truth. I am one of the old and loyal customers of Akbar Choja and I have a lot of respect for Mr. Hossein. I called the restaurant several times and informed them about the decline in the quality of the food, apart from the sudden increase in the price of some dishes. I talked to Mr. Hossein and told him that last time I ordered cold meat and more than half of it was pure fat; This time I ordered muscle, which was also full of fat. How can muscle be served with this amount of fat? I dont know In any case, I hope that Mr. Hossein will take care personally and preserve Akbar Jojas reputation before the situation worsens.
The service was great, the food is delicious will definitely visit again
Everything was great
On Google it says they close at 11. We drove all the way from Richmond and got there at 10:15 and they said that they re closed because they re not busy
The best Persian restaurant in Vancouver
The employees voices could be heard throughout the hall. None of the staff wore hairnets to prevent hair from falling into the food. The sumac shaker wasn t functional, and they brought it in a bowl instead. Butter was not served with warm bread. The kebab koobideh was pictured with basil in the menu but was served with parsley. The staff s behavior was terrible. The knife and fork were very poorly designed and oversized, requiring replacement. The copper cups were old and worn. I will never go back again.
I had a fantastic experience at Persian Akbar Joojeh Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, Hediyes warm and welcoming personality made me feel right at home. The food was exceptional, especially the Akbar Joojeh chicken, which was perfectly marinated and tender, served alongside aromatic saffron rice. The entire meal, from appetizers to dessert, was bursting with flavor and authenticity. The service was top-notch, and Hediye made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this gem for anyone craving delicious Persian cuisine in a friendly, inviting atmosphere!
Best food we had wonderful day on our anniversary
I had a great experience at Akbar Joojeh. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was beautiful, warm and cozy. North Vancouver needed an persian restaurant like this
Excellent experience for my wife and I eating joojeh kabab torsh. The atmosphere reminded me of Iran and the service was impeccable. The food was delicious. Would come back in a heart beat.
So delicious food thank u guys
I had a great time at this Persian restaurant! The food was amazing. The staff, Sarina and Hedie, were very friendly and helped make my visit special. If you want delicious food and nice service, you should definitely go here!
As Usual the authentic way of hospitality and greeting that absorbs me is there, where the heart goes, and it s normally Akbar Joja. Thanks from Hadia and Paniz for their usual and unique warm welcome and great service .
My first experience as a customer here was fantastic! I had the pleasure of being served by Paniz, who was incredibly kind and attentive. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I absolutely love this place and will definitely be coming back
I had an amazing experience at Akbar Jooje Restaurant, thanks to Shina s outstanding service! She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional, ensuring that every detail of our dining experience was perfect. Shina s warm demeanor and excellent recommendations made us feel welcome and well-cared for. The food was delicious, but Shina s exceptional hospitality truly stood out. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others. Thank you, Shina, for making our visit so memorable!
I visited Akbar Joojeh Restaurant recently and had a great experience. The food was delicious, especially the signature chicken dish. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Our server, Nardin, was very friendly and attentive. She made sure everything was perfect and was quick to respond to our needs. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a tasty meal and excellent service.
They have an unprofessional servers that they don t behave well. I never go there again
Mrs Sarina was a good and kind waitress
Sareena was very accommodating! We loved the food.
Koobideh kebab wasn t well cooked, it was raw inside, rice was like leftover from yesterday or even more. Staffs were super good and very inviting.
My husband and I had dinner there last night, and it was an amazing experience. The restaurant s ambiance is beautifully designed, and everything looks absolutely stunning. We ordered Chelo Kabab Koobideh, which, as always, was excellent. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. We will definitely come back again!
Great food ,great service with Hosna and Hedieh, amazing Atmosphere and decoration, Strongly recommended Food
Amazing Persian restaurant! Huge portions and authentic flavors. The Soltani kabob was the best koobideh and barg I ve had in Canada. Chicken kabob was super tender and flavorful. Loved the mirza ghasemi with smoked eggplant and barbari bread. Staff were super nice and attentive. Highly recommend!
Beautiful ambiance and absolutely amazing delicious food. Customer Service on point! Highly recommended
I was a loyal customer of this restaurant, often ordering through Uber Eats because of their promotional deals( Buy one get one free). However, I recently noticed that they significantly increased the prices of two of their promotion items out of nowhere! 50% increase! It feels like a bait-and-switch tactic advertise discounts, then hike up the prices without warning. This is disappointing and feels dishonest to customers who rely on these promotions. Sadly, I won t be ordering again.
You have the try it! Its pure taste and flavors!
Im giving a poor review to this place, as I have been informed by staff that the owner keeps the tips and does not give any staff any of the tips, which is illegal. While the food is good we must refuse to support any business who does not respect employees, and steals from them
DO NOT TIP - The owner pockets the tips instead of giving it to the hard working staff. This is unacceptable behaviour and should not be happening at all especially when as a customer you re expecting your tips to go to the staff members. Very disappointing!!
I m extremely disappointed with my experience at Akbar Joojeh. The food was okay, but what really ruined my visit was finding out that the restaurant keeps the tips meant for the hardworking staff! This is completely unethical and disrespectful to the employees who are the backbone of the service. As a customer, I tip to support the servers who go above and beyond to make the dining experience enjoyable not to pad the pockets of the management or owners. It s unfair and dishonest to keep tips from the people who earned them. Until this policy changes, I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. If you care about supporting fair workplaces and ethical treatment of staff, I suggest dining elsewhere.
It was great , highly recommended
The best manners, the best food and polite staff
In the new branch I am very sorry that I took the guests there. They put a lot of stress on me about when to deliver the table and when to use the table. It was like grab and go. Ms. Elnazs behavior was very bad and not customer-oriented.
One of the best Persian food in North Vancouver the decorations and service is great The food is 10/10 you guys deserve the 5 ***** Food
I have been living in North Vancouver for four years, and I love Persian food. I had been to every Persian restaurant on Lonsdale and Marine Drive except Akbarjoojeh. I have my favourite place, which I was going to go to last night. However, I was walking by the 19th Street location, and since I had heard such great things about Akbarjoojeh from others, I decided to try it. I will say, I liked the decor and the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly (5 stars to them!). Unfortunately, the food was very low quality. I ordered the Mirza Ghasemi and the double Akbarjoojeh. The Mirza Ghasemi had almost no flavour, and didn t taste fresh. I know it sounds harsh, but double Akbarjoojeh was absolutely disgusting. Especially considering this is supposed to be their signature dish. It was not crispy at all and was so dry and overcooked that it was barely edible, even with the pomegranate molasses sauce. I am cant believe that I paid around $50 for this meal (including tip). The only part of what I paid that I am happy with was the tip (as I mentioned above, those young ladies were very nice, 5 stars to them!). There are definitely much better options for Persian food on Lonsdale. I certainly wont return to Akbarjoojeh, and I wouldnt recommend the restaurant to anyone. Overall, very disappointing.
Second time here, love the Akbar Joojeh, its really tasty and good. Mirzaghasemi could have more garlic flavor. The Dough and Dalal yogurt were also so tasty and good. Last but not least I like the staff attitude, they are warm welcoming and friendly which made me feel good.
Very nice vibe over there
Was on a trip to Vancouver and had heard about this place. We were a group of four, one couple ordered a platter with koobideh and chenjeh, to share. I ordered the chicken and plum stew, and my partner ordered the dill rice and osso bucco. We also ordered an eggplant dip and the famous Persian yogurt drink called dough. The food was fantastic, delicious, juicy, big portions. The ambiance was nice, service was fast. The only issue we had was the lack of dinnerware. For example we ordered an eggplant dip, the didn t bring small plates or spoon for the dip. I just think that would be common sense. But other than that everything was great
I like it the most, the best persian food in whole Vancouver
Great atmosphere to embrace a pinch of unimaginable Iranian culture. Food was great. So was the Mashhadi waitress. Absolutely recommended.
I recently dined at Akbar Jooje restaurant, and it wasn t my first time. Whenever someone asks for the best Iranian dish, this is my go-to spot, and I love bringing my guests here. It s not just about the amazing food the staff is also incredibly friendly. They treat you well, offer professional advice, and make you feel right at home. Sarina and Hedyeh were our servers this time, both very friendly and attentive. I appreciated how they checked in with us occasionally. It was a perfect experience, just like before!
I was disappointed with my recent visit to this Iranian restaurant, which used to be one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the food quality has noticeably declined since my last visit, with greasy dishes and poor-quality rice. Additionally, the chicken in the traditional Persian dish, Akbar Joojeh, was not fried to the same standard as before, which further detracted from my overall experience. Its a pity that the restaurant has not maintained the high standards that I previously enjoyed. Consistency is also an issue, as the taste and presentation of the dishes vary significantly from one visit to the next. While I used to be a fan of this establishment, Im sad to say that I am disappointed based on my most recent experience. Please note that the photos included in this review are from my first visit and do not reflect the current state of the restaurant.
The best restaurant in North Shore. Excellent quality. Excellent service 9
I tried koobideh kabab for first time and it was so good . I am so picky about kabab, texture and taste was perfect, i love that not much tumeric is added to kabab to make it yellowish it was best kababi have ever had in Vancouver
Wonderful food and nice staffs!
Akbar Jojeh Restaurant is one of the best choices for an enjoyable experience of traditional Iranian cuisine in North Vancouver. The large, beautiful and traditional environment of the restaurant has created a warm and pleasant atmosphere that easily evokes the feeling of being in Iran. The quality of the food is second to none, from delicious chicken to carefully prepared traditional dishes. The staff is extremely respectful and professional, and I have a special thanks to Shahram Aziz, who made a wonderful experience for us with his kindness and attention to detail. If you are looking for a restaurant with high quality food and pleasant atmosphere, definitely try Akbar Joche! Great restaurant. We enjoyed lunch at Akbar Joojeh restaurant. I recommend visiting and enjoying the delicious foods and appetizers at this restaurant. Location is in Lansdale Street in North Vancouver, British Columbia.
Best Persian food Ive ever had, consistently amazing every time we go.
Superb lamb and large portion, Tasty and staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!!!
We were a group of 4 people. We had just finished our dinner, paid for the bill & were chatting. One of the staff approached our table & let us know that we needed to leave since we were there for an hour. I looked around to see if there were people waiting to be seated but there was no one waiting. There was also an empty table as well.
It was an amazing experience. Service, food, ambience everything was excellent! Already planning my next visit:)
First time to Akbar Joojeh. We were really excited to try Akbar Jooheh as one of the new popular Persian restaurants on lonsdale. We ordered take out, salmon for my wife and I had the Vaziri Kebob last Saturday night. At this location for take out, the waiting area is very cramped and uncomfortable however service was friendly and quick. The food smelled so good and tasted delicious, the tadig was lovely and the shallot yogurt. So why the 1 star review ? I have literally been suffering since Saturday night, writing this 72hrs later. Constant violent vomiting, unable to keep water and food down until today, this will be my second day off of work due to the illness. My wife did not suffer any of the same symptoms however did feel slightly unwell the next day but really enjoyed the fish! We feel extremely let down and considering we spent $98.95 for two people (including tip) and now I have also had to use two sick days from work. We will not be back.
I dined last night at Akbar Joojeh with my friends, and the experience was outstanding, thanks in large part to the exceptional service from Sarina, Paniz, and Hediyeh. Each of them went above and beyond to make our meal memorable. From the moment we arrived, Sarina warmly greeted us and made sure we were comfortably seated. She was attentive throughout, checking in without being intrusive and ensuring we had everything we needed. Paniz brought an incredible energy to the table, making great recommendations and sharing insights on the menu, which helped us pick some fantastic dishes. And Hediyeh s attention to detail was remarkable she anticipated our needs before we even asked, which made the experience feel effortless and special. The teamwork between Sarina, Paniz, and Hediyeh created a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Their dedication and hospitality truly set Akbar Joojeh apart, and I can t wait to return! Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food paired with exceptional service.
grate food and service frendly staff i highly recommend it try for your self GOD BLESS
Tiny and busy restaurant highly recommended to everybody to try it,
One of the best meals I have ever eaten It was great, the treatment of the staff was very polite and hospitable
A very atmosphere, great evening.
We tried the food in their restaurant and it was amazing.. service was so so.. we later ordered a pick up and the kebabs were barely cooked.. it was horrible. It s best if you eat at the restaurant so at least you can change your uncooked food.
Great food and friendly staff especially Inaz
This place is good for Persian food, no cap. I recommend getting a reservation if you are more than 2 people. we had a lot of food we were at a table of 5 and got everything from the menu . The flat bread was a lot of sesame seeds, which was a good thing for us. The yogurt drink (doogh) is a tangy tasting drink with dried rose in it, which was good, but traditionally, its topped up with dry mint leaves. The lamb chops and lamb kebab were tough because they served it well done, or maybe we took some time to eat it, and they got cold. The braised lamb curry was good. The garlic pickle or the braise garlic they serve its raw, so I dont know what the case. The marinated olives were good, nothing fancy, simple, clear flavor, and good . They most good thing we had was the Cornish hen absolute banger its full of fat so be careful if you looking for something healthy . The server we had were cute and good . They may look a little angry, but they aint. And I didnt have a picture right now, but I will post it when I get it . Wheelchair accessibility: Yes It is
One usual order: Beef Shank , you will find it in the menu under different name but it s the only beef shank there, portion is massssive !! meat taste is incredible!!!! i can t get enough of it. Downsides: 1. lamb shank doesn t taste as good as beef 2. waiting time sometimes is long but the beef shank worth waiting !! 3. their new branch has different pricing which is disappointing Don t forget to get barbey rice instead of the regular one cheers
Sorry for your loss. Our hearts ache for you during this unimaginable time of grief. May she rest in peace!
We ve been coming here since day one and have always loved it. Unfortunately, over time, the quality has noticeably declined. Recently, we experienced issues such as undercooked chicken, beef that doesn t taste right, and feeling unwell after eating. Portions have also become much smaller, and the cleanliness of the restaurant, including the bathrooms, has dropped. We hope to see improvements soon and will give it one last try.
We were really pleased with the excellent and warm behavior of Sarina. Your food was truly delicious!
Best Persian restaurant in BC, in my opinion. Great high quality food, newly renovated place, and beautiful interior design. A bit slow on services due to high demand. Overall, I love this place and highly recommend it.
If you are looking for a great Persian food and enjoyable atmosphere, you are landed at the right option in North Vancouver. Just expect a higher price than the other options - which I d say worth it. I tried Morgh Torsh which was absolutely fantastic. I d recommend it for anyone interested in Persian food, you won t regret it!
We drove up from Seattle to Vancouver on Veterans Day and decided to try Akbar Joojeh (main branch!). Honestly, it was such a great experience! The restaurant has this super cozy, authentic Iranian vibe that instantly reminded me of being back in Iran. The food? Absolutely amazing. The Akbar Joojeh chicken was juicy, tender, and that pomegranate sauce? Chef s kiss! The rice was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were just spot on. What made it even better was the service. The hosts were so polite, friendly, and always smiling it felt like we were being taken care of by family. The service was quick and on point, too. I m especially grateful for the warm hospitality from Paniz and Hediyeh they made the experience even more memorable. If you re in Vancouver and craving some delicious Persian food, I d 100% recommend checking this place out. Totally worth the trip!
Delicious meal, authentic Persian (coming from a Persian!) and very friendly staff the yogurt drink (doogh) was very sour so that wasn t my favourite but the food was delicious
Was totally delighted and would Highly recommend
Unfortunately the portions have started to shrink.
Food was great! Prices are on the higher side. Service was poor. They applied an automatic 18% gratuity for our group. Ambiance was great. They were extremely busy. Kid-friendliness: They welcome kids and families. High chairs are available.
After 1 year of missing our homeland persian food restaurant when came to North Vancouver from Vancouver Island decided to experience the best and expensive restaurant based on google reviews. but after spending around 190$ for family of 4 people i really regret it because of the quality of food specially kebabs just here maybe best food is AkbarJoojeh itself and kashk bademjun Definitely the kebabs was very low quality it take me one long night to morning and alot of stomachaches to digest the koubideh kebab, the night we had Moeen concert at Vancouver but the food ruin that event also for me. Never ever going back to this restaurant if be back to Vancouver again. The atmosphere and design and cleanliness was good but what is primarily important about restaurants is their food quality not design and other services.
We spent a lot of money but the quality of the food was very poor.
Best Persian restaurant in the lower mainland since 1988
I wish there were a 0-star option! Ridiculous experience tonight. Do not trust the hours listed on Google! According to Google, they were supposed to close at 11 PM, but when we arrived at 9:55, they were already closed. They directed us to their new location two blocks away, so we went there. Guess what??? The kitchen was closed, and they didn t have any of the grill options available. Feeling frustrated and disrespected, we decided to leave. Always loved the food here, but after this experience, I m not sure I ll return even though I know I ll crave it.
Only place in Vancouver with real authentic Persian food
One of the best Persian restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. Great atmosphere, so expect this place to be packed. I tried the Lamb, and it was tender and flavorful. The bread tasted authentic as well. I also like that they give you tahdig on the side. Highly recommended!
Very good
I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience! We ordered the Akbarloghmeh and Lamb Shank, and both dishes were incredible. The Akbarjoojeh, as always, was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, while the Lamb Shank was simply phenomenal tender, juicy, and full of rich taste. The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff who made the evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. Overall, an excellent experience! Highly recommended. Well done!
The food was outstanding flavourful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommend and will definitely return! Special thanks to the owner and manager, Shahram aziz
So chic and comfy amazing design also so delicious the food. You can t find any where else like this. Number one Thank you Mr Shahram
Awesome Food and great service from Serena and Reza.
Deserves all 5 stars Service is excellent! Service
Great service and food. The staff make you feel at home and the amazing taste of food makes you eat more than you should. Portions are enormous.
We were there a while ago with 2 of our friends, I can say I was really upset to choose this restaurant. Food quality was fare not wow fair good. The service was not acceptable we should asked to bring us whatever we already ordered , I can t remember that they didn t even gave us glass for drinks. It was not even weekend the waitress was frowning and looks tired . Worst than all of these it was not organized kitchen the crew were moving dirty and clean dishes back and forth in front o the guests , hope with moving to the new place we wont see the same issues.
Staff are very rude! No respect at all!
Very good food and incredible service specially inaz She s amazing every time, I will definitely comeback and bring all my friend and family
Epic, amazing, delicious, generous servings, friendly staff, olives are amazing... as non Iranian, I love this place.
Heard about this place and saw a few ads on social media. Tried the food at take out and honestly not impressed at all ! Koobiden was sweet (maybe they used sweet onions), rice was undercooked, lamb shank was swimming in so much juice it leaked all over the car and had way too much cinnamon in it !
We were sat down and ignored for about 20 minutes before walking across the street to another restaurant
Great food! Great music! Definitely worth a visit :)
Great food and service, the staff were very friendly.
Ive been to several Persian restaurants across the US and Canada. This place has the best koobideh Ive ever had. Highly recommended.
food was amazing . also, if you like doogh, their doogh is amazing. 10/10 overall.
**Awful Experience at Akbar Joojeh** I recently dined at Akbar Joojeh, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst persian restaurant experiences Ive ever had. To start, I placed my order only to receive the completely wrong dish. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they seemed indifferent and took their sweet time to rectify the mistake. The service was another major letdown. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unorganized, with no sense of urgency or care for the customers. I felt completely ignored throughout my meal, and when I finally managed to flag someone down to ask for the check, Overall, Akbar Joojeh was a huge disappointment. Between the wrong order, the long wait times, and the unreasonable service, I left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. I won t be returning, and I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent dining experience. Save your time and money!
I was passing by and thought it was a good restaurant, so I saved it and came here to eat. Traditional Persian food. Its my first time eating traditional Persian food. It can be a little difficult for Koreans, especially Asians... . Ordered lamb kebab, chicken, and salad. The kebabs are okay. I ordered chicken as recommended by a staff member, but I could barely eat it. (Personal preference) Recommended if you want to experience traditional kebabs :) The price is a bit high.
I will not tell you about the food. We are coming from Seattle to definitely eat there. I cant tell you more about the good and polite staff. Special thanks to Ainaz Jun and Sarina Nazanin.
Yummm
I had a take-out chicken kebab, and it was very well-cooked and very delicious.
Perfect food,very polite workers,nice environment
Food quality is average. Staff are very nice and service is great.
I ve been to this Persian restaurant many times, and the food is always exceptional definitely a 5/5 for flavor, quality, and authenticity. However, the service is quite hit or miss. While some of the staff are friendly and attentive, others lack basic customer service skills, which has been a consistent issue during my visits. I d rate the service at 2/5, but the food keeps me coming back.
Amazing Persian food. Loved the taste and the overall experience makes it a definite try. Had the lamb shoulder, the meat was juicy and flavourful. The dill pickled rice wasnt my thing but if you like dill, you will find the combination is good. Also tried Waziri kabab plate and the kababs were great. The rice was okay but better than dill rice.
I tried this restaurant twice. And love their Shang and baghalipolo. The meat is tender. And juicy. I love their spinach and yogurt. The owner is very sensitive to all customers satisfaction. Care about them and listen to all of the complaints and try to come up with the best solution. Next time perhaps I try to taste some other food. If you want to try different taste of food try Akbar Joje.
I had an amazing dining experience at Akbar Jujeh Lonsdale! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions perfect for sharing. The authentic atmosphere truly added to the experience, and the service was warm and friendly from start to finish. I can t wait to go back and enjoy more of their incredible dishes!
Best Iranian food in town and every dish is reasonably priced. Looking forward to going back again.
One of the best persian food I have had in Canada! Fresh and tasty. Amazing Akbar Joojeh!
Very nice customer service and super delicious foods
Good Service delicious food hi recommended everyone
Great atmosphere! Amazing customer service! Inaz was so kind and helpful and soooo positive, she made sure to make a table for 13 people in a very short time, she was very kind and always checking on us.
Great food and great service definitely coming back
The food was amazing and you staff are more amazing than food. everybody so nice and friendly and managing the tables and guests very well.
The food was absolutely mind blowing! The Kabab Torsh, lamb shank, akbar koojeh, everything was heavenly delicious. But above all, the service was so incredible. We were a large party of 9 and everything went smoothly. The wait staff were all kind, knowledgeable and so welcoming. Aynaz was a star! If I had a restaurant, I would pay top dollar to hire her as my manager!
First time in this lovely restaurant which was recommended by many friends. I did not expect this amount of respect and friendliness from the staff who accommodated every single request from is. Aynaz was our main server who seemed to be a very efficient and patient girl while other girls who were helping us were so nice, respectfu and friendly. The food was amazing. If I have guests from any ethnicity, this restaurant would be my first choice to bring them in.
I was there for dinner on Friday night, October 6th. The quality and quantity of the food was good, the attitude of the staff was good, but unfortunately, there was a strong smell and smoke in the living room, and because my lungs are allergic, I had a cough until Saturday morning, if I had known, I would not have gone there. Kid-friendliness: Do not take the baby by yourself because the environment is noisy and smoky.
Jujeh kabab was so good and delicious , and good staff so friendly the worker name sarina was so good and she was so friendly with us and looks like a hard worker . we enjoyed thank u
Very excellent restaurant with great food
Dear Sarina, Thank you for the excellent service you provided. The warm and professional approach really made our experience in the restaurant more pleasant.
Portions: Huge! Service: Quick Me: Happy. Food : 5/5
One of the best Irani food spots Ive ever been to
This restaurant was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS.....I highly recommend this place. Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor. I cant give enough compliments. The staff was very attentive, courtesy and friendly. Ill BE BACK!
The food was great, but it was a bit more expensive than other places
We ordered Soltani and Koobideh, but both were of very low quality. The Barg in the Soltani was too tough to chew. Additionally, there was a very long wait for seating. I wont be returning!
We ordered Kabab Koobide & Soltani. Both were awful! It was not worth the wait!
Good food but expensive!
Literally the worst Koobide I ve ever had! I have no Idea how you could serve food with such low quality! ! Even my dog couldn t eat that! Servers were nice though. Food
Our experience at Akbar Joojeh was absolutely wonderful, thanks to the exceptional tasty food and outstanding service provided by all the staff specially Sareena And Aynaz. From the moment my husband, I and our little daughter were seated, they greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel incredibly welcome. Sareena offered excellent recommendations on our order that suited us. Sareena and Aynaz were attentive ensuring that we had everything we needed and our little one is comfortable. Their professionalism and friendliness truly made our time memorable.
The beef was sooooo good. The plum chicken was a little too sour. The server was super friendly. The restaurant has a casual vibe. Worth checking out.
This restaurant had the best Persian dishes I ve had in a long time! The waitresses were so nice and friendly, as was the owner. I ll definitely go back whenever I visit Vancouver!
We came from Toronto and had a fantastic lunch at the Akbar Jooje. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. A special shoutout to Sarina, our server, who made the afternoon even better with her exceptional service. She was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. We ll definitely be coming back next time we re in Vancouver!
The best Persian food in town, you feel like home with amazing food and service. The person who took my order today on the phone was very sweet and respectful.
The quality of the food dropped down significantly. Baghali polo rice was terrible and not sure if it was fresh.
Delicious food, staff very friendly and kind, high quality ingredients and the price is amazing.
We had a great dining experience at Akbar Joojeh during our visit to Vancouver. We started with the Mirza Ghasemi appetizer, which was really delicious. For the main course, we ordered the Koobideh and Akbar Joojeh combination. The Koobideh was really great. The chicken was a bit dry but still tasted good overall. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to try Persian cuisine!
I love the food, it was my first time trying Persian food and I ll be back! I totally suggest to share the dish, it is a lot of food! The decor looks old, owners should invest in renovate the atmosphere and decor. Staff were friendly and faster. Restroom was clean.
The service was spectacular. The bread was amazing and fresh. The portions were enormous, and everything tasted delicious. It s definitely worth a visit.
This place is weirdly good, I mean their food is even better than many restaurants in Iran, Amazing people as well, everyone must try this place, please come to Calgary:(
What garbage food After couple time we ordered now the food was disgusting Straight to garbage Shame Food : 1/5 |
My expectations were so high based on the ads that I have been seen since the restaurant opened so I was talked about it and did have a plan to try their food as a cook so I took a chance this time when we traveled to Vancouver and here is my opinion which should not take you away from this restaurant because these are my thoughts Service: 2 waiters not enough to give us a good customer service, and we left our food almost more than half of them, and they didnt ask about how satisfied we are about the quality of the food and the reason of the leftovers. Food: The portion size was huge, but The chicken torsh was burned by the grill and not have smoked flavor, and the taste was far off as it should be. Koobideh kebab was overpowered by spices such as tumeric, and when it gets cold, after 10 mins, it was not tender at all. Jojeh kebab was tender, but the taste was off, too. Rice was a little bit overcooked and had too much fat (oil or butter). Yougert with spinach and bread was good All and all, this is not a restaurant that I want to go back to, even when I travel from Calgary to Vancouver again. You can give it try but dont set the bar high for real taste of persian foods.
If you are not Persian, this place is not for you! Menu looks gorgeous, but food has too strong taste of different spices, we ordered by look but will never come again for sure Portion size is too big Atmosphere is good, it has its own unique touches Washroom was good as well Last note, don t seat outside, many people pass by and watch you while you eating
A wide variety of food, with a charming traditional Iranian ambiance.
I am not an easy man to please, ask my ex wife Antonella! (the cruel shrew) But this chicken was something else. Without a shadow of a doubt the best meal Ive eaten in a good while. May your children be many, and your pockets prosperous.
Great food. Great people. Frienldy
Amazing food Big countity. Food
Ive had few years of experience in food industry and running persian restaurants in Canada. I had never post a review before, but once I spot a place for its quality and service, I cant help not voicing it. although I think some of the menu items are pricey, the quality of foods speaks for itself. also their staff are very friendly and welcoming. Aynaz is one of the best.
The atmosphier was pleasant, but the food quality didnt quite match the price point. The Soltani Kebab, especially the Barg Kebab, was disappointing and inedible. However, the Akbar jooje was a satisfying dish.
We were just there and all the relatively good experiences we had before were ruined. Akbar Jooje was white and the kebab was yellow! The taste of the kebab was not good at all and it was full of turmeric! Akbar chicken was not fried at all and when it was brought to the table, it was white in color and I was shocked that it was ready to serve. The chair and table were very uncomfortable, the cushion of my chair was separated and moving forward. The restaurant floor was very dirty and full of food trash! We were there recently and all the relatively good experiences we had before were ruined. Akbar was a white chicken and a yellow kebab! The taste of the kebab was not good at all and it was full of turmeric! Joojeh is one of my favourite restaurants. This is the best Persian food in greater Vancouver, I highly recommend checking it out. They give huge portions for a great price. They never disappoint with their fantastic food and kind staff!
I recently had two very different experiences at Akbar joojrh Restaurant. The first time I tried the Chicken with plum stew, it was fantastic! The flavors were spot on, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, my experience on Tuesday during the promotion day was quite disappointing. The chicken tasted off, and the rice was completely uncooked and of low quality. If you re going to offer promotions, please ensure the quality matches what you serve regularly. If not, it s better not to run the promotion at all.
I had the worst experience in the Iranian restaurant. There two rude girls. One of them stop us without saying why, then we noticed tables were not prepare. Ok its understandable but it wont take long time to be nice and inform others. When we done with our launch we ordered tea but one of girl refused to give us as she said because of wait list. I never offended like that. Staff are subtly reject clients and this should be the big alarm for owner.
The food is mediocre at best. Ordered the Akbar Jooje and the chicken was quite smelly and saggy. Never going back again.
Akbar Joje is one of the best places to eat persian food. The taste is so great. Aside from the great food, Iynaz is my favorite. She is so charming and lovely.
Highly recommend anyone who likes meat to try this place! ! The portion of meat is very large. The two of us ordered two ordinary portions of meat and couldnt finish it. We took away a lot of it. Personally, I feel that in most cases, two people can just order one portion to share. Recommended beef! ! Really delicious! The only drawback is that you have to queue for a long time for meals :)
So many negative point very bad food
Best Persian food I have ever tried so far. Good portion and taste good Food
I went to this restaurant today with my wife to eat Akbar Jojeh. Ive been there twice before, and the taste was good, but I was disappointed today. The food was awful. I ve heard that Persian restaurants are only good when theyre new and then decline over time, but I didnt expect this.
I would like to provide feedback on my recent dining experience at your establishment, as it fell short of the expectations I had based on your reputation. We arrived at the restaurant at 3:25 PM and requested to be seated outside due to the noise and crowd inside. A server took our order (VAZIRI KEBAB) and, at approximately 3:55 PM, informed us that our food would be out soon. By 4:05 PM, concerned about the delay, I went inside to check on the status of our order, only to discover that it had not been entered into the system. The server apologized, which we appreciated. They brought us AKBARJOJE CHICKEN (probably to make us happy) but we just wanted our order! The server said you can take it home. While the kebab was enjoyable, I was further disappointed when we later tried the chicken at home. It tasted greasy, old, and soggy, and I doubt it was freshly prepared that day. Having driven a long distance to try Akbar Jojeh Restaurant, this experience left me disappointed, and I am unsure if I will return in the future. I hope this feedback is helpful for improving service and food quality moving forward.
It was super delicious! I added a takeout order so I was pretty happy with the quick service. Special thanks to staff specially to AINAAZ Food
What a great experience. The servers were fantastic in making suggestions and answering all our questions. Id give them 10 stars if I could. The food was excellent, with the chicken, lamb, and beef skewers being as good as any Ive ever had.
The atmosphere was AMAZING and the service was perfect. The rice and kebab were so tasty but I wish the Akbar Jooje was more crispy. Design was good too
We had a great experience at Akbar Joojeh! The Akbar Joojeh and Mirza Ghasemi were both delicious, with generous portions and perfect seasoning. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, adding to the overall experience.
If you are only one person they dont take you, Irani Jamaat takes his job, he is no longer considered as a customer, let the wheel spin
Really nice behavior
The food is delicious, nice staff
So bad customer service, we are order some food in our party but they sent all wrong order
services are not good and staff are unfriendly.
