Being here long time ago, it was nice to visit once’s more this place, easy location and easy parking, a lot of seating and very interesting decor. The food was great, and the prices just right, with generous portion. Friendly service. Very down to earth. But worth trying if you are in the area
I found this place by chance and I am happy I did! A hidden gem on the North Shore. Such kind people and lovely, fresh food. This is now my new favourite place for great priced and delicious home cooked Persian cuisine.
Gilaneh is a charming Persian restaurant with a nostalgic vibe. The décor feels like stepping into a Persian grandmother's house, and every detail brought back memories of Iran. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous—perfect for sharing if you’re not too hungry. While the meal was on the pricier side, the quality and quantity made it worth every penny. At the start of our meal, we were welcomed with complimentary warm bread and feta, which was absolutely delicious and set the tone for the rest of the dining experience. We ordered the Bakhtiari kabob (a skewer each of chicken and chenjeh kabob) and the Gilaneh special kabob (a skewer of loghmeh and kabob torsh). Both dishes were amazing, though the Bakhtiari kabob stood out with its tenderness. For sides, we enjoyed doogh and the flavorful zeitoun parvardeh. The only downside was the service. There was only one waiter, and we often had to wait too long for attention. Despite that, Gilaneh offers a memorable Persian dining experience that’s well worth a visit.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gilaneh Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. The warm and inviting atmosphere immediately made me feel at home. The menu offers a wonderful selection of traditional Persian dishes, and every bite was packed with authentic flavors. The kebabs were perfectly grilled, and the rice, fragrant with saffron, was the perfect complement. The service was exceptional, with the staff attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. They truly made the evening special. Whether you’re familiar with Persian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Gilaneh is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
I recently visited Gilaneh Persian Restaurant in Vancouver, and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience! The Persian dishes and kebabs were absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors that truly satisfied my taste buds. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect place for a cozy meal. On top of that, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, adding to the overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy some amazing Persian cuisine. Can't wait to go back!
Gilaneh Restaurant offers a delightful atmosphere, enhanced by the soothing sounds of Iranian music playing in the background. The menu is particularly eye-catching, featuring photos of the dishes, which is especially helpful for non-Iranian clients. The food itself is tasty, with generous portions that ensure a satisfying meal. The combination of authentic ambiance, visually appealing menu, and delicious food makes Gilaneh Restaurant a great choice for anyone looking to enjoy Persian cuisine.
We were there for dinner;we liked its vibe and decoration. Nice staff and warm welcoming made our night and reminded us good memories from Gillane in the north of Iran. We ordered four dishes like especial Gillane, lamb, Dizy and Soltani. The design of our food were awesome. But mine was cold, my favorite kabab is sour Kabab which this one was cold and the grilled tomato was raw and cold as well. The pomegranate and yogurt was too old and watery. Overall we didn’t like the quality of food. We tried multiple times Gillane in Downtown which is much better than this location. And also they didn’t serve any liquor or beer. I believe that they are supposed to serve it. Anyway we had a memorial night because of music and the decoration.
Their food is amazingly delicious. This location is more convenient than the Downtown location to park our vehicles. Customer service is very good and caring. The portions are big enough for two person. I have been here multiple times. Also their breakfast is very well and in a better location (upstairs) Highly recommend it.
I made a reservation for Yalda Night, paying $75 per person, plus half price for a 5-year-old child. In total, including tip, I paid $210. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The upstairs section of the restaurant was a complete disaster more like a nightclub than a family-friendly venue. When the DJ started playing, the music was deafening, and all the lights were turned off, making it impossible to see even the person next to you. If you needed to use the restroom, you had to use your phone s flashlight just to navigate. As for the food, the buffet consisted of bland and tasteless koobideh and chicken skewers that were practically inedible. By the end, I felt like I paid $210 for a meal that wasn t even worth $18 for a basic Vaziri kabab. My advice: don t waste your money at this restaurant. I wouldn t step foot near this place again.
I deeply regret choosing this restaurant to host my guests. When my elderly guests arrived before me, they were seated at a table right by the door, even though better tables were clearly available. It was disappointing to see such a lack of consideration for their comfort. To make matters worse, the waitress seemed unable to communicate effectively in English, but her rude attitude and unfriendly facial expressions were easy to understand. It felt as though we were unwelcome from the start. The food, unfortunately, was of poor quality bland and far below expectations but that ended up being the least of my concerns. The lack of hospitality and respect overshadowed everything else. I felt embarrassed to have brought my guests here and would strongly advise others to avoid this place. There are plenty of other restaurants that value their customers and offer better food and service.
We went from Seattle to Gilane Norte, it was really amazing, its chicken was boiled without salt, its kebab was also amazing because of the bad smell of the meat.
A great variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. I had the Mirza Ghasemi and bread pan and cheese. My husband loved the Koobideh kebab, and we both had Damnoosh tea. Everything was delicious; service was quick and friendly, and the place and atmosphere was convenient and good. I highly recommended.
Great food and staff. Ms. Mahtab took care of us . She gave us perfect suggestions and made sure that we all with family enjoy our time there. We will come back :)
Ms. Mahtab was so well coming and really ice. She had an exceptional customer service and we enjoyed our meals. I highly recommend this restaurant and will come back again.
If you would like to try a memorial, delicious and fresh Iranian tradisional Foods with high quality, I strongly recommend Gilaneh resturant.
Waiting for Sunday is so hard! I wish Gilanes breakfasts were open every day. I find it interesting that every time I go there I see different nationalities. It means their job has international quality and they have managed to provide a menu for all tastes.
I ordered for delivery and they sent us 2 complete burnt dishes!! Pure black tahdig!!! So u just thought that was ok to send burnt food out???
Is like this message forwarded to the owner of the restaurant. This is the second time I ve had bad experience with your staff and quality of your food. . The two waitresses at the time of our dinning were too occupied with their own conversation to the point I ve had to get out of my seat and let them know we need help but not just once 3 times. Food was missing peaces here and there and dough was old and discolored. Tahdig we ordered was hard as a rock and cold cold . I d like the owner to know that I won t be giving it the 3d strike As I m done going to your restaurant. One of the waitresses on the recent dine in I think her name is mahtab. Curly light brown hair . She is so distracted with her own self.
Well! Speaking of Koobideh! You guys indeed serve the best Koobideh!!! Not only famous and popular in town but also my family who visit from Iran always ask me to take them to Gilaneh for their Koobideh. Tty Tahdig and Gheimeh as a meal and feel the taste of childhood lunch from grandmas kitchen. The service is excellent when it not too busy, but I would say when its busier, its hard for the staff to catch up with tables and good service. I also advice bringing onion with Kebab or in order to make sure it wont waste, ask the guests if they want extra onion on the side. The hot bread serves before food would have been more tasty is served with butter..... The music however is laud and sometimes nostalgic in a sad way. Please choose a nicer playlist and turn it down a bit then I would give 5 star for atmosphere! Anyways, I go to Gilaneh almost every week. When I am exhausted from a long hike or a busy day at work, the only place I would think that may fill my tummy with satisfaction, is Gilaneh. Keep up the good work you guys. We appreciate having you in our beautiful city of North Vancouver :)
Waitresses were talking and chatting all the time instead of taking care of customers. Obviously no training to the staffs happened
The place was nice, and the staff were friendly. The hospitality and service were good, but I think the food is overrated. I went there for dinner, and unfortunately, the soup didn t taste fresh it seemed like reheated leftovers from the day before. The Tahchin was served cold, and the Koobideh was just average.
Great Persian food close the the beach
We always like their food.
Gilaneh Restaurant provides an authentic taste of Northern Iranian cuisine, capturing the flavors and atmosphere of the region beautifully. The inviting ambiance and attentive service make every visit a memorable one. Highly recommended for anyone in Vancouver looking to experience a genuine taste of Irans northern culinary heritage!
Very tasty and fine cuisine, friendly stuff, and fair pricing! How do you recommend it! Food
One of the best Persian cuisine / grill houses in Metro Vancouver. Warm environment and friendly staff.
Incredible experience. Went to the Sunday morning brunch buffet and enjoyed a variety of delicious traditional Iranian dishes and other items! Live music was absolutely amazing and the servers were on top of their tasks the whole time. Highly recommended!
Nothing about this place stood out to me. The food was very average, and I was disappointed by the attitude of the staff. The waitress wasn t helpful or friendly, which made the experience feel uncomfortable. Even the color of the chicken in the photo showed a lack of care in how it was cooked it didn t look like it was prepared by a skilled or even average chef. I wouldn t recommend this place if you re looking for quality food or good service.
I wouldnt recommend going there. The table wasnt clean, and there were mosquitoes around even in the sumac pan, making it impossible to eat. Additionally, there was a persistent bad smell throughout the area. I ordered Anarbij, it was not bad but for the above reasons I didn t enjoy it Don t know why I didn t leave!
Koorosh is the best chef. Experience the Gilan cuisine in Vancouver with the authentic quality.
I have invited my colleagues to Gilaneh restaurant a few days ago unfortunately it was such a embarrassing food and service we had got there and not recommend anyone.Food was awful, uncooked and very dry kabab.i have got so embarrassed to offer my colleagues to get there..never go back there again.. We really didnt enjoy the food honestly werent eatable...
The quality of the food was excellent, it was very tasty and delicious, the environment was excellently designed and had a completely Iranian feel, I highly recommend it
In all Persian restaurant this is a one of best one.
Food is delicious and good price, Every time Im in Vancouver i go there.
Beautiful restaurant , delicious food and friendly staff. Thank you for everything.
I gave them one starts a few years ago, I went back today with a few friends for brunch and they changed my one stars to 5. The brunch on Sunday is wonderful. High quality food and live music. The service was great. Definitely going back again for brunch
Delicious and cheap. The tip for 4 people was only over 60. The portion is huge, just order one for two people.
Their online menu has false prices, which they have not fixed. The Soltani is priced at $21.99 on their website but they charge you $35.99 when picking up. Shocked upon picking up, I asked why the discrepancy and they told me they can t edit their website?! What a lazy excuse. They didn t honour the advertised price either. Really terrible experience - left a bad taste in my mouth.
Awesome..we enjoyed
I can confidently say it was the worst experiences Ive ever had at a restaurant. unbelievable, in the worst way possible. A dirty place, with absolutely no customer service. The food smelled bad and tasted bad and was not acceptable to eat at all. We ordered Gilaneh Special, Bakhtiari, Mahicheh, Boorani and Zeytoon Parvardeh and Doogh and they were all unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to avoid it at all costs. It s a complete waste of time and money. Weve paid 170 CAD for 4 and still hungry because their food was inedible.
Worst grill house among Persian restaurants. I would never go back there and never suggest it to anyone. Food
This restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with delicious, flavorful dishes, attentive service, Shadi made this night memorable for us.
I went to this restaurant in August 2024. Delicious food, great environment, unique taste, excellent quality of food. Everything is great; I recommend this restaurant to everyone for its delicious food.
I visited Gilaneh Grill House North Vancouver recently, and my experience was extremely disappointing. When we arrived and asked for a table, we were told there were no available tables, which is understandable. However, when we asked if we could wait, the staff member bluntly told us, You can leave, without offering any other option or showing basic courtesy. This is the first time I ve ever been treated so rudely by a restaurant. The lack of professionalism and poor customer service made us feel completely unwelcome. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent dining experience.
This restaurant was both a find and a disappointment. Food? Excellent flavors in the non- kebab choices of vegetarian appetizers. Unusual choices, like tadig half and half plate. But! Plastic in the torshi. What the heck? Staff not able to do anything. Really! Had to suggest they take it off bill. Really. Kbabs dry and flavorless. Had to beg staff for sangak bread (Xtra cost of course) and then.......PLASTIC melted on bread. Really. Same thing. Staff just looked at me. Did not replace it. Just said oh sorry ugh. The timing of the plates was terrible. 2 diners in our party had no food and we were finished our food. The bill was a nightmare. At one point I was handed 8 peices of paper after asking for the bills to be split in 2 when we sat down. Train your Staff to remove packaging. Train your Staff to deal with unhappy customers pulling plastic out of their teeth. Train your Staff to provide customers with a correct bill for food and drink ordered. Offer a tea or a dessert to remove the taste of plastic from our mouths. Just do better, your foods are delicious but the restaurant service and quality control ruin it.
Cant go wrong with authentic Iranian food
I was very satisfied with the atmosphere of the restaurant and the behavior of the staff. The pounded kebab was good. There are only a few points that I hope the restaurant will consider. The sour kebab, which was cooked very well, had just a hint of sourness. As a Rashti, I expected sour kebab with sour pomegranate paste. Second point, I prefer that Iranian rice was used in the Gilani restaurant, which unfortunately was not the case. And the last topic was the side dishes that I asked in the Insta ad, do you have Shpel and Bagala, but it was not on the menu and it seems that it is not served in the restaurant. Overall it was a pleasant experience. I will definitely go to this restaurant again
A lovely brunch buffet with quite an assortment of items and dishes that included middle eastern as well as western choices. They had some delicious desserts and live music created a lovely ambience! We were impressed and will return.
If you want to introduce true persian hospitality to your non_Iranian friends, this is the place! Thanks to Shadi and Nasim for their kindness and amazing service that stood out, along with the amazing food off course! Highly recommended, keep it up Gilaneh North Vancouver.
Very good food good service and very friendly environment
Amazing food. Friendly staff. Very good selection of foods and deserts. Absolutely recommended!
Worst customer service ever. I went there for their breakfast open buffet. Then I ordered a food; they forgot to bring it. I Asked it for the second time; they told it is gonna be ready in 5 mins, and they forgot it again! Nothing special about this place unfortunately. Food
If you want to experience authentic Persian/Iranian cuisine at its finest, then Gillaneh Grillhouse is the place to go without a doubt. The environment resembles traditional Iranian houses, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, always eager to offer their best service to ensure guests have a memorable dining experience. The food at Gillaneh Grillhouse is simply delicious, with a diverse menu that will make your mouth water just thinking about it. The reasonably priced menu offers generous portions, often enough for two people to share. I have visited the restaurant three times, and each visit has left me extremely satisfied. I must mention that the North Vancouver branch is the best, outshining the downtown branch in every aspect.
I had a pleasure of dinning at the Gilaneh GrillHouse Restaurant last Saturday for brunch, and it was an absolute delight! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The buffet offered a wide range of options to suit every taste. The variety of the desert was unreal. The service was top-notch with attentive and knowledgable servers. Overall, I highly recommend Gillaneh GrillHouse for a fantastic brunch experience. I cant wait to go back and try more delicious offering.
Kaleb kabab was very delicious. Chef Kourosh was very welcoming and spent time explaining the foods in the menu .
It was great
The quality of the food was good and I was satisfied with the service, but unfortunately there was a piece of glass in the salad.
I really enjoyed my lunch, very friendly staff, and fantastic food provided by Korosh
Gilaneh GrillHouse in North Vancouver is fantastic! The place feels cozy and welcoming, and the food is out of this world. Seriously, every bite is packed with flavor. Whether youre into kebabs, stews, or veggies, theyve got you covered. The staff is super friendly and helpful too. If youre in the mood for some delicious Persian food, definitely check this place out!
Very tasty kabob kobideh and best customer service.
Amazing food and hospitality. Buffet breakfast on Sunday Mornings with live music are beyond any expectation. It made a memorable experience for whole family, especially for our kids. Kid-friendliness: Their amazing buffet breakfasts made memorable experience for our kids. Suggestion: Many people do not know about their breakfast buffet yet, needs more advertising. We also request to add option of pay per food weigh too, we can pay for the food and bring leftover to home, not wasting so much leftover. Then most people can enjoy their great breakfast and go more frequently. Thank you so much Gilaneh.
The food at Gilaneh always has excellent quality, taste and price. The atmosphere is very peaceful and beautiful and service is excellent. Highly recommended! My absolute favourite is the Torsh kebab
I had brunch here and it was AMAZING! Friendly staffs and delicious foods you can t find anywhere else except here! I am in love with their brunch buffet !
Great food, great price, and excellent music.
I recently dined at Gilaneh and it was an amazing experience! The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We started with a delicious appetizer platter, followed by a perfectly cooked saffron chicken kebab and tender lamb shank. The portions were generous and the flavors authentic. The attention to detail and quality of the dishes truly stood out. We ended the meal with a delightful Persian dessert, which was the perfect sweet finale. Gilaneh is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy fantastic Persian cuisine. Highly recommended!
This is the Fourth time that I have visited Vancouver and I ve dined at Gilaneh restaurant for lunch and breakfast and was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and nice. The food was amazing, with each dish showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients and balanced flavors . They have a really good breakfast buffet with lots of variety of foods. Highly recommended for an excellent dining experience.
Tbh, yummy as always, the price makes sense . They have done some major renovations since 1-2 years ago the place looks much better, their kabab torsh is always good. There was only one lady waitress helping all the tables, we went there on a Thursday at 7 pm, didn t expect to be busy, we understood that she was so busy and not enough to help all the tables that were constantly calling her. I think adding another person will benefit the business. Thanks for having us
I usually go there for Dizi and it doesn t disappoint. Very delicious
This restaurant is fantastic! I really love it. The food is always amazing, and the service is top-notch. Mahtab is one of the best employees there, always ensuring a great experience. Highly recommended!
The food, the staff and the environment are all excellent! I would highly recommend it. The management is wonderful!
Gilaneh is the best . Food , service and management. Just try it , for sure u will love it
The food in the restaurant was good but I want to share a bad experience I faced with the owner of the restaurant. Here it is: I had an event having 50 people invited . Once the bill presented to me I realized they wanted to charge me 3 times the usual price which I refused to pay and the restaurant staff put an embarrassing reaction in front of my guests continuously refusing the facts that they were trying to rip me off . Making story short . I refused to pay the over charge and I want to warn every one and anyone planing to hold an event in that restaurant to make an agreement in writing clarifying the type, quantity and quality of the foods being served well in advance and specially agree on the total cost , I emphasize put it all in writing otherwise they would take advantage of your situation and will try to double or triple charge you . I know other people have faced the same experience as me in the past . Please Don t go to them without written agreement if you holding an event (Email or .) Dear owner please be professional .
I just went to Gilaneh for a buffet breakfast and it was not a pleasant experience. First, they started vaccuming the stage when we were sitting on the next table, the noise was annoying and kept going for 5 minutes. The buffet was big but nothing was fresh and they were all old from maybe 2 days ago. Additionally, they were playing a stand up comedy show with a very loud sound which was a huge mood killer for the morning. The service was horrible and every time we had to call the waitress to come and clean up the table if not they would have never noticed. I don t think we would ever go back there.
Found a random onion ring in my chicken thigh with bone order and I dont think they even sell those. Someone must have dropped their lunch or maybe something worse is going on here. Guessing hygiene is not a big priority at this restaurant either way. Will avoid going forward.
Kaleh Pacheh at Gilaneh North Vancouver on a Sunday morning is highly recommended!
Always providing amazing food!
Fresh fresh fresh and soooo delicious! Gilaneh has the best koobideh and joojeh in the city. Their staff are kind and helpful. Theyre our favourite Iranian restaurant
All Iranian dishes and delicious Specially Dizi was fantastic Food
It was delicious food but bad customer service
Yesterday I had a guest from Seattle. 5/26/2024...the food was excellent. But the service is very bad... even the table we chose was not allowed. I am really upset... Respected management in this case... Train your employees.
The behavior of the staff is bad, the price of the food is high, the quality is average, and in the end, it is a receipt of peoples mistakes
Really liked their food
We had breakfast today and the service and food was amazing. We celebrated our friends birthday there and they sang birthday song for my friend, they had yummy pastry
Bad behavior from the stuff, cold and raw food, and unexpectedly high price.
Good food very friendly I recommend this restaurant Food
Got it! Heres the revised review: Gilaneh Restaurant is one of the best places for breakfast and brunch buffets. The combination of appetizers, main meals, and desserts is outstanding. They offer a delightful mix of Persian foods. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. Its also a fantastic venue for parties or celebrations, having hosted many of our gatherings. I highly recommend it to anyone in Vancouver who loves Persian cuisine, buffets, and needs a venue with reasonable prices and top-quality food and desserts.
Very nice place I liked the atmosphere and the flowers, decoration etc. Food wise, the chicken kabab was good but the koobideh kabab was not high quality meat at all. The dolmeh wasn t very good either it was mostly rice and too much vinegar. I was also surprised that their tahdig gheymeh dish had no lamb meat at all! Food
Great atmosphere, food and service. I always get some foods to take it to US. You need to try this place at least once in your life. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a high quality Persian food.
We recently enjoyed a wonderful breakfast buffet at Gilaneh. The food was fresh and flavorful, and there was a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast buffet.
Recently, I dined a Gilaneh in North Vancouver, and it was an exceptional experience. The ambiance was lovely, and the staff were welcoming. The food, however, was the highlight. Every dish, was made with fresh ingredients and tasted amazing. It s definitely the best dining spot in North Vancouver. Highly recommended!
I was there for sunday brunch , food was good nothing special. You have good options on cold bar but for the hot bar wasn t so many options specially they didn t offer any kind of egg( it was only tomato omelet). The disappointed part was they charged my kid the exact price as us and it s not fair at all! A kid never eats as much as an adult. Totally food is acceptable but it doesn t worth 120 CAD for family of 3. I don t recommend it!
One of the best grilled chickens that can be found outside, I have rarely seen grilled chickens of this quality anywhere (even in Iran). Bagali pilaf with muscle was also very good, but unfortunately the muscle was prepared in advance and was not heated well. We also tried the bottom of the pot with ghee, but the bottom of the pot was not crispy and good
Poor customer service, we ve been there 2 times in a row, and it took more than 1 hour to bring our starter, as they took ours to another table two times by mistake! And there was no manager there to help us with our orders! When we told them about our dissatisfaction, they did nothing. They literally don t care about their customers at all. Poor customer service, poor management. Rude staff
I have never had such a negative experience in Vancouver , food was very well presented but very horrible taste, very old and absolutely oily. Plates were ridiculously small, and glasses for orange juice were plastics, which banded since 2 years ago and was super small. Egges was like cooked 3 days ago and reheated. You would think the price is not bad when u see the pictures but you will find out why you are paying a reasonable price, cause materials are super cheap. Definitely will not back not recommended and hope management start doing something about it
Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. We were there for brunch. The food quality was shockingly low and all seems reheated, with dishes lacking freshness and being overly oily. None of the dishes were tasty, and I found them to be worth closer to $15 rather than the $35. While the staff seemed friendly, there were too many of them, and they often congregated in groups, chatting loudly. This noise was disruptive, especially during the buffet breakfast. On top of the poor food quality and noisy atmosphere, the location also left much to be desired. Overall, I would rate the quality of food and location a dismal 2 out of 10. Regrettably, I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future for brunch
Today we had another great experience in Gilane that I wanted to share with all dear Iranians, for Mothers Day we had a great buffet with quality food, fruit and dessert, everything was great, Priya Jun was very kind and hospitable, of course everyone The staff are great, thank you for the great management of Gilane, who always prepare interesting programs.
I booked Gilaneh for my wedding party and indeed it was a great experience with high quality food and nice atmosphere. All the guests liked the food very much. The owner, manager and the staff were super friendly and committed to their job. The owner fulfilled all his promises towards the catering and bar management. Prices were reasonable and within my expectations. I do highly recommend this place for single visit or parties of any kind.
Unique dishes although they gave me the dish with meat when I asked for vegan (I was already half way through it so I didnt bother making a scene)
I had an amazing time at this location! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure all our needs were met. The food and drinks never disappoint; every dish was delicious and well-prepared. The ambiance was perfect, and the live music on weekends is very good, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. This place has become one of my regular spots, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience!
Twice ordered from this place. First time we got kebab torsh. It was too dry and tasted kind of sweet. If youve ever had kabab torsh before, youre in for a big surprise. The rice was way too greasy. Unbelievably so. Second time we got Kashk bademjan and Mirza ghasemi. Kash bademjan was ok. Mirza ghasemi was the worst Id had. The eggplant was not properly fried or grilled. It looked like it was boiled instead. That was the case for the onion in it too. And it had too much onion in it. They even tried to garnish it with juicy onion. Overall it tasted sour. Did I mention they didnt send any bread either?
Definitely will be back. Try it out for delicious authentic Persian food Food
The battered kebab kubide was excellent and very delicious
Bad attitude and slow food
Very delicious food with an excellent atmosphere and great hospitality. Many thanks to the staff, especially Afshin, for suggesting the kebab tray menu
The food quality is very unpredictable! Its now my second time that I got really low quality food
We usually come here for a family dinner and know most of the staffs; one of the women there has really unprofessional behavior, we asked us for some more rice because before the food portion was really great but tonight was completely less than before; and she said: that s not my responsibility and I can t do something for you.that was really unprofessional and also the taste of their food has been change a lot and they re not as delicious as before anymore;unfortunately it is our last night that we are here .
great
Food was acceptable, but too busy place that u cannot even hear what the musicians r playing n singing. Why they put them on such a place. One hour for whtever u can eat!! What a rush! U usually go to a restaurant to relax and enjoy ur food not to get full in one hour. I didnt like it, but i am sure some enjoy this kind of restaurant.
Delicious food, excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. They also have a brunch buffet on Sundays.
Great ambiance! Dont miss Shishlik, kebab! Very attentive staff. Thank you.
Pleasant environment and respectful and responsible behavior of the restaurant staff. Tasty, quality and delicious Iranian food. The breakfast experience in this restaurant was also interesting.
Best great service and lovely Attitude Mahnaz and mahsa over 10 years of experience. Please Do not hesitate to visit gilaneh resturant because of this two lovely ladies. Food
The quality of the food, particularly the kebab koobideh, was poor, overly salty, and dry. Despite my complaint, the manager refused to offer any compensation, such as a discount.
Excellent experience at Gilaneh restaurant! outstanding service. Special thanks to dedicated team member Mahtab her hospitality were truly appreciated. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an authentic Persian culinary experience, made even more memorable by the delightful curly-haired waitress, Mahtab
woah! fantastic night at the gilaneh grill house. amazing atmosphere, food and service. the baghali ghatogh and hummus were divine. mahtab delivered us a truly unforgettable experience. we were even given complementary tea at the end. mmmm!
It was my first time eating at Gilaneh. I have dined at many Persian restaurants in Vancouver and this was one of the best ones! The atmosphere was extremely warm and inviting. The restaurant was clean and our server Mahtab was very hospitable. I ordered the sour kabob with pomegranate sauce and walnuts and it was very tasty. The meat was so tender and the plating was beautiful. We even got some complementary tea alongside our dessert. I would gladly come back!
Great variety of Persian dishes to choose from.
We went for a Sunday brunch and it was amazing. The staff were friendly and great service. The buffet was great with lots of variety. Lots of pastry. The music was also great. We enjoyed it. Food
I love koobideh with bread, but I dont suggest ordering it in this restaurant. It comes with barbari which gets soggy with koobideh juice right away. The waiter didnt care at all when I asked that you should notify your customer that the dish will be served with barbari. I wouldnt order if I knew. The waiter came with a card reader to charge without bringing the receipt. We asked to have it to know the details of the charges. She was confused by our asking. Later I noticed a charge of %10 liquor tax equals $2.00. We didnt have any liquor. When I asked she replied that sometimes the register printed this way. She even didnt want/try to fix it. Offered No apologies for the food and the error. Conclusion: I would love to support all businesses especially Persian restaurants, but this is a rip-off example.
We came here for their brunch special after seeing it advertised on IG. The food was okay, nothing that you couldnt make at home yourself. When I went to grab a plate for my food, every plate I picked up was dirty, thats when I noticed that the staff was hand washing dishes. Honestly at this point we should of just left, but they had already served us drinks. To top it all off they charged us auto gratuity. We will definitely not be back.
Amazing taste
We really enjoyed our meal here! The Sour Tenderloin kebab was a standout dish something youve gotta try. Its not something I see often in other restaurants. Despite the weekend rush, we got seated right away. But by the time we left, the place was packed. Luckily, theres plenty of free street parking nearby.
Nice people and nice vibe. They were nice and gave us a free fresh flatbread. Food was delicious, maybe a little undersalted. Soup of the day and kashke bademjan were good
For over 10 years, I have been a loyal customer of Gilaneh restaurant, and with each visit, I enjoy their delicious and high-quality food more than the last time, especially their kebabs. During this time, the decor of the dining hall has regularly changed, adding to its attractiveness. An important aspect that I greatly appreciate at Gilaneh restaurant is the exceptionally friendly staff whose behavior and service are very warm and welcoming, to the extent that I feel like I am being hosted by friends or family. I would like to express special appreciation to three beautiful and lovely ladies, Shadi, Nasim, and Mahnaz.
Today, I enjoyed a delightful lunch with my uncle and his family. The service at the restaurant was exceptional, delivered with professionalism and warmth. I savored a delicious lamb shank served with fragrant dill rice, a culinary delight. The staff members were exceptionally kind, always wearing smiles that added to the pleasant atmosphere of the experience.
The quality of the food is deteriorating; the koobideh was undercooked, the kakab torsh lacked taste, and had a strange smell. Ive had a disappointing experience for the last couple of times; I wont be trying Gilaneh again for sure.
Super delicious Persian cosine with good ambience and excellent service
Excellent experience at Gilaneh restaurant! I want to express my gratitude to the entire staff and management for their outstanding service. Special thanks to the owner, Shahram, and the dedicated team, including the wonderful staff members: Mahtab, Shadi, Nasim, and Mr. Mohsen. The food was exceptional, and the warmth and hospitality were truly appreciated. Highly recommended!
Back to Vancouver for a visit, had a great lunch at Gilaneh. The food was great and the service was even better! Ms. Mahtab was our server and she was so exceptional. Will go back for sure!
I had brunch in Gilaneh so many times and get impressed every time. Great service. Special thanks to Mahtab who made our day.
Ali s service was exceptional!
We went here few weeks ago after so long and we found everything great . Food service and atmosphere However last night I order take out and my zereshk polo had no zereshk not even 1 Still will give full star it was just disgusting a bit
Great food and nice atmosphere. Mahtab was amazing with her exceptional service. Definitely recommended
Without a doubt, you are the best Iranian restaurant. Your commitment to improving food quality is evident, and Ive noticed the effort you put in. Im upgrading my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Keep up the excellent work!
Very nice place architecturewise! I have tried everything in this place! Allll goood! So far, the food has been great, and service has been acceptable. The madam server usually gets nervous about our son running around and gives a bit of an attitude, which is unnecessary (3 times so far) Also, wear more clothes than u usually do indoors. Its a bit chilly in there in wintertime.
That was a great music with Amir & Ehsan Vegetarian options: Should add more Option Food : 5/5 |
Perfect Parking: Close to restaurant Kid-friendliness: Perfect
I love this restaurant and I always come here with my family. They are so friendly and the foods are literally perfect. Last time I ordered online and sent note for them that I want extra rice, and they sent me plate of rice for free and that made my day
Excellent food, excellent service by Maya and everyone else and the live music is amazing!
We had a delightful breakfast on February 18, 2024. Everything was flawless the food, service, staff, and music! I also expressed gratitude to the manager for the surprise they arranged for my husbands birthday. Excellent job. Thank you
i went for they Sunday buffet and they have weak costumer service, when i told the manager of gillaneh that i was not satisfied with their service she start to ignoring that and told us the our reason is not make sense instead of using that for their improvement in their costumer service.
We had an excellent experience there. The foods are amazingly delicious. The staffs are respectful. Special thanks to Shadi and Mahtab.
Food is soooo good. Took a while to get out, probably waited like 30 minutes or so. Baklava is pretty expensive for 2 tiny pieces. It was like $7 but the lamb and beef is to die for.
Very good and quality restaurant
That was Christmas Day, and we paid $45 per person. In short, it wasnt worth it at all! I will never go back there. The only good thing was their polite and nice staff
Regrettably, the service was quite subpar. Despite the restaurant being quiet, it took 15 minutes for them to bring the menu. The table was notably dirty, and after informing them, it took an additional 10 minutes for them to take our order. Unfortunately, there was no apology when we mentioned the cleanliness issue, and they only assured us they would bring a towel to clean, which they didnt. The server lacked politeness and friendliness, which was surprising given my previous positive experiences.
I like this place, The professional staff are working here helpful and lovely, to explore persian culture food and lifestyle this is an amazing place to achieve! personally i recommend this place to everyone! cheers!
Nice Persian food , Very tasty and sufficient amount
The food is good, but unfortunately the staff very rude and inattentive to customers. One of the staffs asking us to hurry up to order
Awesome service and brings you happiness...
We had Koobideh and Kabab Torsh and unfortunately the Kabab Torsh meat was a bit too much smelly for me. The staff were rude and not helpful/cheerful enough to help us with answering our questions about the food (we asked if our Ash Reshteh comes with Nan). The staff of Downtown Gillaneh were way better! Kudos to that branch!
We Went for dinner , Cold food with a very small portion , very low quality meat, We were so hungry that we did not return the food , bad experience
Liked the vibe and nice staff. However, the food experience didnt quite meet our expectations. Koobideh was decent but the chenje was tasteless and undercooked. Tahdig was a joke. Doogh was a HUGE disappointment. Someone just straight up attempted to mix yogurt and water and failed because it was not even mixed properly. Definitely not worth the price unless you have no idea what Persian food is supposed to taste like.
The worst Ghormeh Sabzi ever! I would never order again.
Before you get there and order your dish, please make sure if you can use restaurant s restrooms. Especially when you re with your family and kids. They didn t close their doors, they didn t notice people before getting their orders! Some unrespectful staff members were walking around. they noticed me that they were out of water. They could close the place for few hours to fix the problem. They could notice people before getting their order. They could notice people but they had their freak way to hide it. PLEASE CALL THEM AND MAKE SURE IF THEY CAN PROVIDE YOU GOOD ATMOSPHERE BEYOND THEIR FOOD!
The food is reallly good but atmosphere is just okay. Probably good for takeout. The Koobide and kabab torsh is absolutely delicious. Their Sundays brunch buffet is also great. There are lots of options for food. Although if you want Kalle Pache, you need to order separately.
Simply great, Thank you Gilaneh
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for dinner tonight, my friend Mazen told us about it, The ambiance of the restaurant added a perfect touch to our dining experience.
