1855 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, BC V7M 2J8, Canada
Really good. I’m not sure why this place is ranked below 4 stars. Peanut sauce was amazing and I’m a peanut sauce snob. The beef in the soup was a good grade of meat which was more like juicy brisket. The broth was fragrant. And the salad rolls were great A+
Was driving down Lonsdale after hiking the GG with my partner. We were starving and stopped at the first Pho sign we saw. After sitting down and ordering, I checked the reviews for this place and became a bit worried. I wanted to leave this review because we were blown away by the food! My partner had vegetarian, and I had the #9 beef option. Both large size for $15 each. They came in massive bowls and were delicious. I feel this place deserves a better rating, and hope others will give it a chance.
Lovely hole in the wall gem in North Van with classic Pho options for a great price. A regular size bowl is plenty big for even me as a tall guy. Would definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner when out and about doing errands.
The soup lacked flavour but the service was fast & they give free hot tea which is nice.
I ordered a chicken Vietnamese sub it was really dry and supported to have marinated radish and carrots but it had just few piece of carrot which were not even marinated. Cucumber was dry i needed to throw away. Chicken was salty and dry. I wont come back.
Admittedly I have not had a lot of Phò in my life so as a novice I ordered the large noodle soup with eye of round steak for $9.45 (plus tax, and please tip; it's Covid times.) I barely finished and then went into a flavor coma for a couple hours, it was so delicious! A Very well balanced deep flavored aromatic broth, plenty of noodles and lots of fresh toppings. Well worth the price for the amount of food you get! The second time I ordered I was sporting a proper hangover too and it brought me back to life. There are magic restoration forces at work here... This restaurant is amazing because it is tiny and the windows are always steamy when you walk by which means that delicious slow-cooked broth is being pumped out constantly and the whole vibe is that of a local's secret. If this place were listed on Netflix it would be under Hidden Gems, and if you need some comfort food give 'em a try today!
Beef noodle soup and spring roll are yummy
Great choice on the menu, fast service, awesome food! My go to in North Vancouver. Free parking on the street. Never been disappointed.
Good ,food love it
Tasty pho with good price. Complimentary hot tea. Simple menu and small space. What not to like!
Ordered take out from this location and it didn t disappoint. But that s all it was, it didn t disappoint. The place can accommodate a very limited number done in customers. We would order from here again but not before trying 3 to 4 other Vietnamese restaurants first.
I LOVE their pho!!! Reliable, always hit the spot, extremely generous portions at a very good price. I disagree with all these negative reviews. Best Pho on the North Shore!!!
Drove to north Vancouver for a different pho experience ordering my usual eats shrimp rolls three orders shrimp was tasty pork loaf nice change but not liking bean sprouts in the salad roll very bitter next had large beef pho with extra beef very nice meat broth bland fatty brisket just fat I also added steamed broccoli on the side tasty finished with traditional coffee . Parking: Never any parking on the street had to park three blocks away because lots of construction everywhere please plan your day when visiting londale rd Wheelchair accessibility: Would you not recommend a very small restaurant
Dirty dishes, old and spoiled food. Don t go unless you re homeless.
I ordered spicy seafood soup and it was not edible. Noodles were overcooked and tasteless, crab meat tasted like cardboard and overall the ingredients weren t fresh. Wouldn t recommend the place.
The broth was very flavorful. Portions were satisfying and more than other Pho places it seemed. The spouts were fresh and crisp!
Nice lady owner, knew her from her previous location. Honestly the pho is definitely not top notch but its good enough will satisfy your craving for pho when it hits, and its close by wont need to drive over the bridge..
First time here, because the traffic. But the pho noodle here is so bad. I rather stay in traffic for an hour and go to other pho restaurants. Other information, the restaurant is so small, 4 tables only. Feels uncomfortable while staying there.
Ordered no. 9 pho. Lacked spice smell and flavor. They screwed up my order only realized it after eating that they forgot to put rare beef and fatty brisket. The brisket beef fell apart to small bits. The basil was not fresh and was brown. The noodles but very way over cooked and soggy. At the end gave up and ate it with soup spoon, just like eating congee. Big fail. How do you open a business and be so sloppy? or maybe they think just sell it to Caucasian and they will not know the difference.
Love their soup broth, lady is friendly.... size is decent, price is reasonable, better than other Vietnamese pho restaurants in North. Vancouver Will come back again Food
Says they open at 11am. It s Monday and restaurant was still closed.
Simply the food was bad and I couldn t see any effort on there. Ordered salad roll, and it came out with hot noodle inside. I guess they just blanch the noodle for the roll but why did they not rinse through the cold water so it becomes salad roll(there was not much greens insdie)?? And the pho was very plain. No flavour at all. It was barely just hot water with noodle inside. That s fine I could make it up with with hoisin and sriracha but the noodle was way overcooked almost like mud. It was barely holding its shape. Very bad. Very bad experience.
Not open at 11am
Consistent great Pho.
The meat: mostly gristle. The service from the owner (?): also mostly gristle. I dont think Ive ever felt less welcome in a restaurant. The second star is because the noodle portion in the pho was generous; very necessary, since the meat was inedible. Just terrible.
My favourite pho spot. Authentic.
Quick, hearty
This is one of the best places to get a hearty beef pho soup fix in North Vancouver. The place does not look great and there are only a few seats but the soup is soulful and tasty. So if you dont want to leave the North Shore, I highly recommend their pho.
Please beware of this place. Sadly my partner had their food and got food poisoning when he called the restaurant to let them know all the woman said was ohhhh Dirty and unprofessional.
Hands down, our favorite pho on the North Shore. I am vegan so the veggie broth option is awesome. Garnish lavishly (bean sprouts,Thai basil, hot sauce, lime) and it will cure all that ails you.
Son had number six beef balls! I ordered a strawberry smoothie!
Before I always came here, but one time the owner lady spilled hot soup on me, it was really painful burn, and she still charge me the full price of the food, it ruined my day.
Picked up a large 2 meat to go added extra beef balls which I was charged for... so just under $16 with tax There was a total of 3 beef balls and 3 Oz of meat ... noodles dont cost $10 I dont reccomend takeout there as they rip you off ... possibly a better serving dining in.. I dont reccomend doing take out there
The best Vietnamese food experience Ive ever had. Unfortunately i forgot to take a photo of the dish, but i had number 6 (noodle and meat balls) and number 65 (rice, grilled chicken and prawn). Both are DELICIOUS!!
First time there, broth was not flavourful and the spring rolls were okay. Not sure what to expect in North Van but not for me.
Restaurant is very small. Soup was delicious. Staff should be more nice but I will come back.
Have been ordering from here the last few years and is starting to become increasingly inconsistent with the taste of the soup. Cant even talk to the cook which makes it frustrating. I have asked over and over to speak to the cook and always busy. To me they dont care. The owner does speak English. Its his wife that takes orders that doesnt speak or understand much. Two thumbs down
My fave Pho place! Best spring rolls on the north shore!
My favourite place for pho in the Lower Mainland. I used to go to their old location off 12th, and the quality and portions have always been amazing. The fried rolls are 10/10. Owners are lovely!
Delicious and affordable Pho in the North Shore! COVID-19 rules within the establishment are placed safely and accordingly. The owners do not speak much English, but despite that, they are lovely and wonderful. I would definitely recommend everyone to come here. Support your local business!
Not the most amazing pho in the world but its got two things going for it. The prices are fantastic, and the soup is actually pretty low sodium relative to other places. I love a good salt lick in the soup but its a good option to have for folks who are watching their intake.
Great food. Service is quick. Friendly staff. Dining area is not that big but its worth the visit.
Just moved here in Van from Calgary 8 months ago and Im still in search for the best phó in the city! I work close here and this is the best place for me as of yet. Tried lots of places in dt and sadly most of them are all westernized or just not as authentic as most phó places in Calgary. Wings are good too!
Cheap food. Using reused chopsticks and the bottom of the chopstick box definately not clean. Food tastes bland. Beef is ok, not too fresh. But for $11, what can I ask for?
The sauce containers were burried in the bean sprouts, had to go back, thought they forgot to o give me sauces. While there, I ordered another pho, she packed only the soup, no noodles. My bad for not checking the tied-up bag, again! Never going back, bland soup, wrong orders, no English.
This is a great little pho restaurant. The food is authentic and tasty, and the service is great. Not much seating, but I find that adds to its charm!
Wonderful!
Really good pho!
Lovely lady upfront. Great food. Not much for seating.
The quality is no good.
Small place, but big flavours.
Amazing food. The owner doesnt say much. Hence the 4 stars. And this is not due to the covid situation. I have been here before and experienced the same. Either way great food
Nice Pho, speedy service and really tasty
My favourite by far. Fast, friendly and flavourful. My go to when it is too cold, too hot, too rainy, too gray, too hungry or too tired. The owner is lovely and they work very hard. Love.
Best flippin Phò this side the pacific
Small restaurant. Tables well separated by plexiglas and the food is nice.
This place is horrible possibly one of the worst Pho I ever had. Me and my friends came here last week to try it out we all think that the soup here was mediocre which is unfortunate because the noodles were quite nice here. Not to mention the clerk was not very sociable or helpful so you wont be getting the best customer service here. Im definitely wont be coming back here.
Small hole in the wall joint. Dont expect too much from this place. If you need a quick fix then the pho soup will hit the spot. Mediocre meat and toppings
[I have eaten PHO here many times before and have been satisfied to my expectations] I ordered take out and unfortunately they gave me the wrong food and I was charged for the wrong food as well (more than I should have). I didnt notice until I got home and so I called them, hoping I could pick up what I actually ordered, or at least tell them to make sure someone else didnt get the wrong food too. She told me customer wrong and that I got the right food (which I didnt). I tried to remain calm on the phone but the woman continuously told me that I was wrong. I work in a restaurant and so I was trying to be understanding of the situation. I found the customer service to be awful and the food I received was not amazing either. Wont be coming back.
Great small family pho spot
We have tried Pho at almost every restaurant in North Vancouver. This is by far our favorite. Hands down the best fried rolls out of every place we have had. Their pho is quite good as well.
Great broth and quick service for take out. Will be back to try more items!
Consistently good
Really great service
Great little hole in the wall pho joint with Lots of choices.
A cozy and conventient little spot for a good bowl of noodle soup. I wasnt blown away, but it got the job done! Will probably be back.
Service was good but pho was average, nothing to write home about. I ordered the vermicelli with pork and spring rolls and the pork seemed to be whatever scraps they could find to grill. My husband ordered the pho, which he was quite satisfied with, so stick to the pho here.
Very disappointed. Will never go back.
Pho 98 on Lonsdale in North Vancouver is my favorite Vietnamese Pho restaurant ever since I came here from Swift Current in Saskatchewan. The owners are very nice with always a ready smile the moment you step into their place. It is the food that they serve there that makes me coming with a full and satisfied tummy on my way out!
So good! My some of my favourite food on The north shore.
Their large size bowl are seriously large!
Bare Bones review but they do not have A/C in their restaurant, wouldnt recommend on a hot day. Walked in an walked out as it was hot (if not hotter) in the dining area unfortunately.
Not bad, not good
Very small restaurant but usually manage to find a seat. I love their Phõ and have become one of the regulars! The Bahn mi sandwich is very good too.
Best pho around. Always great.
Good food! Love their spring rolls
Lovely place with great food and calming atmosphere! :)
Great pho
Great tasting traditional Vietnamese food in fairly good portions. Tried other Vietnamese restaurants on the North Shore, this one is definitely the best. Usually get the pork Vietnamese sandwiches and Beef Pho soups. Recommend # 18 on soup menu.
Fast service, good portions.
Tiny restaurant. The owner does not speak English very well, so you will have to be very patient and forgiving. Got their chicken banhmi (around $6) the bun was soft and chewy, yum. Overall it was okay. Not somewhere I would come back for again.
Best soups in North Vancouver at a great price!!
Delicious broth. Excellent salad rolls. :)
Went here last night when a strong Pho craving hit. Id been on the lookout for my new Pho place since I just moved to the area. I was looking for something non-pretentious, affordable and of course, delicious. The space was tiny, the service was direct and warm, I got a bowl of amazing Pho at 9:45pm and this is now my Pho Place!
Never disappointed, deliciously authentic!
Authentic Vietnamese food at such suitable prices, the portions were good too
Your classic bowl of pho, nothing special, average broth, Comes with all the trimmings, bean sprouts, lime and hot peppers etc. Who doesnt love a bowl of pho
I didnt find the pho to be very flavorful, but the coffee was amazing.
Actual rating 3.5. So far this is the best Vietnamese restaurant Ive been to on the north shore. Everything Ive had has been quality, with the exception of the egg noodle soup. The Bun Bo Hue is excellent ( get thin rice noodles)
Good, nice and cheap. It is a good restaurant, with fast service, the food is good and the restaurant is clean. Although some of the diners are not, everything is good here. I tried a noodle soup with meat and what looked like beef stomach. Very good, along with its mint and lemon. Delicious. And the excellent vegetable spring rolls. Without a doubt a very good option on the North Side of Vancouver. I didnt give it a higher rating because the lady who takes the orders and serves them is a little intimidating. But I dont think its bad. good service
Very delicious pho!
Our first time, we ordered the pho special, it was so good and lots of noodles. Good food, good portion for the price!! Highly recommend. Although the place is really small.
Amazing place. Great customer service. Will definitely visit again.
Food was fantastic and cheap, the restaurant setting is a bit mediocre. Too small for a get together with family. But nice for a private meal
Great pho, probably the best in the area. Not a lot of seating unfortunately. Very casual hole in the wall. Didnt like the banh mi, no mayo and the pickled veggies werent very pickled though the pork was good. Been there half a dozen times and will return for the pho.
Portion sizes are what you can expect from a pho place, except the salad rolls are half the size for more $ than you usually would pay anywhere else. The rare beef and beef balls was a little questionable and it was pretty expensive over all (about $20 for a soup and sub), must be the North Shore yuppie tax. Will not return, I can think of a handful of better places with better food, service and prices... Just not on the North Shore. Meh.
A good place for a warm, nice hot soup whenever its cold and wet. I come here for lunches and its fast and with a good portion. Only a few table, but havent had a problem getting seats yet. An Asian lady runs the place, and customer service could improve.
Their portions are small and quality is average.
Prettygood soup stock but a bit pricier than others, good salad roll
Terrible food
Cheers
Nothing special, small and weird sitting with other people at your table, food average.
Fast service and good noodles. Filling and satisfying.
The food is fresh and delicious, one does add spice to ones own taste preference. Since its a small place the service is fast and cordial. And if you prefer to eat your food at home, you can order take out.
My #1 Small is JUST RIGHT! Tiny new location but the food is just as good as I remember
Average pho. Good soup base but the noodles were undercooked and clumped together. No one should be using their chopsticks to attempt to break free the locked noodles.
OK place. Small hall but nice food.
My second time having pho, It was ok. I had chicken and rice and the chicken was great. Its a cool little place.
Never tried it before and was not disappointed it was absolutely delicious
Legit.
I dined in there once and thought the pho was decent, so I phoned in today to order a sub for lunch and the service was rude. I asked how much they charge for a sub, she told me its $6. So I told her ok, Id like to order a cold cut meat sub. She didnt quite understand, and started talking to other customers in the background. When she comes back on the phone, she asked me if Im ordering anything coz shes busy. I told her yes, Im ordering. Then she hung up on me...@#@$#@!
Best broth there is. They also have subs that arent on the menu. This is my go to Pho on the north shore. The restaurant is small and seating is limited, it can get busy on a rainy day.
First time customer here - ordered #18 (noodle soup with round eye steak, flank, fatty brisket, tendon and tripe). It was ready in under 10 mins. Broth is excellent, noodles firm, meat is fresh, herbs and bean sprouts are fresh. Will be back!
first off 8.35 for a small and 9.45 for a large bowl of pho? MSN, these North Van prices are crazy! even crazier is the rice plate for 10.65! 4.25 for a coffee with condensed milk is highway robbery IMHO... Worse still, the beef brisket with beef balls only came with ONE beef ball cut in HALF! and the guy had the audacity to ask if we wanted to order extra...
Absolutely disgusting. Nothing was edible, $30+ down the drain. I phoned to tell them and they were just rude. Awful, just awful.
The best Pho in the North Shore, what more can I say? :) They have pretty good banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) as well.
When I want some nice warm soup close to home, I come here. The lady is super nice, the food is delicious and the window seat is the best. Great prices too!
They were located in 12st e lons before and transfer here. Although the place is small ( i guess its 12 max? Ns) food is good. I havent check the menu if they change. Yeah their back
Great broth, delicious ingredients, nice big portions. Only complaint would be the restaurant is a bit small so it can fill very quickly.
