Browns Socialhouse Lower Lonsdale in North Vancouver

I recently attempted to book a dinner reservation for my family last Saturday evening. While making the reservation online, I was not informed that parties of 8 or more would be subject to a service fee. Additionally, when I went to update the booking in person, this information was not mentioned either. I have always enjoyed dining at Browns, and I ve never encountered any issues in the past. As someone with food allergies, I ve always appreciated the care and attention given to my dietary needs, and I ve never had a problem. The food has always been excellent, and I am generally quite understanding if mistakes happen. However, the experience on this occasion was not handled as well as I would have hoped, especially at this location. Despite this one disappointing evening, it won t deter me from returning to Browns overall. However, the lack of communication regarding the service charge, the failure to check in on our table to ensure everything was satisfactory, and the lack of attention to certain dishes will prevent me from visiting the 2nd and Lonsdale location again.

Was denied take out service because the kitchen closed 1 minute ago at 10:44pm when the kitchen actually closes in 1 min at 10:45. Pure laziness. What a joke!

Bring back the Florida Special plz

The dragon bowl was so dry, no sauce or flavour at all and the veggies were raw and barely warm. Used to be great. Also, why no veggie burger or wording about substituting the patty on the menu?

Service was amazing, couldn t catch the name of our server, and the Sommelier taught us some things about the wine and pairing. The steak and Fritz was cooked to medium rare beautifully as requested, and the yam sauce was very good as well. If in town should definitely stop by.

Silvana was an amazing server! She has extensive knowledge of the menu and an amazing memory. She recommended the Fettuccine Alfredo and explained how their chef has been trying to get the pasta just saucy enough. Thank you Silvana

Love this browns for its cozy booths, contained patio, and fun bar vibe. Its super kid friendly. Their happy hour is awesome, from 3-6 and has really well priced food and drinks on it. Recommend the cowboy salad, snackin nachos, and beef dip.

Some associates were walking along the quay by the polygon today handing out coupons for drinks but handing them out to everyone except POC. Thought that was a bit odd. We even made eye contact with them thinking we were also going to be offered coupons, but no.

My elderly father who has Parkinson s wanted to host us here for our last night s visit before we return to the states. Once there, his tremors got really bad and had to leave. It was an ordeal as he could not walk, it was rainy and cold and my husband went to bring the car close to the restaurant door so there was wait, etc. The hostess and waitresses were most helpful. They checked on us, helped us, even brought chairs for him to sit on while outside! Compassionate beautiful people. They truly cared and we were so touched and humbled by their kindness in the midst of a busy Thursday night at the restaurant. They even removed 2 drinks from our bill without us asking for it. The food was great, but service was extraordinary. My family and I are grateful to this wonderful crew.

If youve been to.any Browns youll already know the place is clean, the servers are extremely friendly and the food is almost always good. I went there with a co worker for a few drinks and we had a wonderful time. The particular location is in North Vancouver close to the Seabus.

I was expecting more from the bar from this famous place. I felt like an outsider. The staff weren t friendly and the food was too salty. If you are looking for somewhere to have fun you d better search for somewhere else. Overall if you are just hungry and want something to eat it s okay but not for Fun and somewhere to make memories. I don t want to be mean but as a immigrant I didn t feel welcome. Maybe because of my accent :) .

Araya is the best!

This place offers the best fish and chips you ve ever eaten. But it was too noisy for us.

If I have to nitpick, the music volume can sometimes be too loud. Otherwise a very solid place to go for a casual, relaxed atmosphere with decent food.

We had drinks and food and both of them were food. Their signature burger was amazing. The service was attentive.

Takeout is a great option at this Browns location. We ve always had a great time dining in but happily the food is just as good when taking it home. Vegetarian options: The Tofu Dragon bowl was delicious. Parking: Only street parking available so may need to circle the block to park. Most people in the neighbourhood walk there.

I asked to one of the managers if I could have the NFL game on while hockey is playing on the other screen... Well,he put it on and make sure that EVERYONE was ok and happy with that... he definitely went above and beyond my request. Appreciate that 1000% Best atmosphere, great staff and great drinks. Tonight, we ordered medium cooked steak. But we were served with rare. The funny, nobodies ever asked us how was your food. At last at the time of bill.informed her the story and she brought us a free beer.and I dont like it

3.5 Food tasted good, just as was expected from Brown s. Took a whiiiiile however. Staff said a piece of chicken was suspected of being undercooked hence the delay, and giving them the benefit of the doubt, I appreciated them remaking the dish. Long wait redeemed by the taste.

Came here on a busy Saturday night with my boyfriend and son. The restaurant was packed yet the food didnt take long at all. We ordered Natchos (best anywhere), quesadilla with Thai soup and chicken burger with fries. Everything was amazing. Service was great. The music was a bit to loud for our liking as we couldnt hear the conversation over it but I would definitely come back.

Kay (formerly known as Kayla), the manager, was a breathe of fresh air and made our dining experience one to remember. Its hard to find service like that these days. Ill be back soon for sure! Also, the crispy cauli is bomb.

Last time I gave 5 stars for the taste of the food. But yesterday I ordered food with rice. The rice is burned and the color looks like the very last rice in the burned rice. The taste of the Curry is ok. And also I found onion cabbage pieces in plain naan, wondering how it came in. Imagine how they are packing. What will happen if they do it for an allergic person.I was really disappointed with them.

Typical restaurant atmosphere. Portion sizes were nice, not to big but not small. Flavors were fine.

About a month ago, I passed in front of this restaurant. After about half an hour, I realized that my jacket was lost. I went back and searched the same area and did not find it. I gave my number to one of the employees of this restaurant and asked them to paint me if they found my jacket. Today, a girl named Kay called me and said that a jacket with the specifications of my jacket was found and called me a lot and I didnt answer. She told me when I had written my phone number, the number of 1 wad so close to 7! Finally, Key was able to find me and I went to get the jacket. Although it wasnt my jacket, I was really impressed by Keys accuracy and perseverance, and I thought I should explain this story to show appreciation to this staff.

I love location down the street from my home. The food is always delicious no matter what you order. Went there recently with a few girlfriends for a girls brunch and it was absolutely delicious. I just wanted to give an absolute shoutout to your manager working on Saturday Night at around 1130pm. He was confronted by an unhappy patron trying to skip out on their bill. The patron was then very racist, and just generally not very nice. Your manager was absolutely brilliant. Very calm cool and handled the situation then I ever could have. He deserves praise and I hope I am not the only person to give him the great job he deserves. He was with a tall female server who was also very good. She deserves credit as well. I will gladly return to an establishment with two workers who are not just great employees but seemingly great people too! Great job in finding such amazing people.

This used to be much better. We were not happy with any of our recent visits especially the last time. The pasta was lousy, taco was really cold and chicken sandwich was not even worth to try. We ordered from the website for the 1st time & from the lower lonsdale Brown Social House & it was so good... Before this time I had a dine-in experience in Brown Social House (Upper lonsdale), I always order traditional burger (with bacon) both (upper & lower lonsdale) were good !

Ordered takeout online and they actually have a guest option so you dont have to fill out a million things and the credit card portion went off without a hitch. I really enjoy the bowls here for a solid meal that looks and tastes great. Vegetarian options: Salads and bowls here as well as their pastas are all filling and flavourful. Dont be afraid to invite your veg friends, there are plenty of options. Parking: Being on Lonsdale parking is always a gamble.

Sunday morning 11:30, place had 3 companies of customers. Basically empty. We went in and were seated by our choice on a low table. However, the people on the next table were too loud and we moved to another table a few minutes later. Then we waited for 10-12min and noone served us. People who came after us were served right away. At one point we looked at the waiters questionably. They saw that, said something to eachother and still noone came. We finally left and on our way out they wished us a good day Can you believe? A good day Thrust me, you can get away with this only in a communist country like Canada, because theres not much competition. Outside the pink bubble, a place like that will bankrupt in a month. I live in the neighborhood and will never go back again nor Ill recommend this bar.

The general manager, Jeff was professional and helpful after our table had an issue with our server (she literally abandoned ship!). Jeff made sure our concerns were heard and addressed. He did everything he could to ensure we left feeling like the issue had been resolved, including taking care of the bill. This kind of management is what makes Browns a successful establishment with repeat customers. I will be back!

This is my favourite place to go! I went there every week for a year. The food is super delicious the staff is professional, and very friendly. However, last week I swallowed a small piece of sharp broken glass and another one pulled from my mouth that came with the salad they served me. I called one of the staff and gave it to them. Its brought me a lot of stress about what can happen to me or my body after eating sharp glass pieces. We filled out an incident report, and a staff member told me it would go to the upper management of the company. They never call me to ask if Im okay or how I feel after eating broken glass. I guess its showing that they dont care about their customers... It is very sad to do this review for them!

Great burgers, services and atmosphere - Vegetarian options: It offers some veggies options or help you to adjust some others - Kid-friendliness: It offers a kid options Wheelchair accessibility: It has a ramp and a patio where the wheelchair can access - the main entrance will be not the best option but it has the size up to code.

I recently came back to this browns randomly walking on Lonsdale for some late night happy hour on a Friday. Amazingly enough , browns had it going on. Order some food and it seemed to be slightly better than the last time I attended also there seemed to be a dj maybe playing at this location. It was so fun, kind of busy for a Friday night! Good place to be. I think they changed their menu up and its amazing! Apparently they change it up every few months. Loved all appies! You must try the fiesta fries! Also got the most amazing carrot cake! Im definitely going back here soon. Cheers!

This location has a nice neighborhood vibe. The locals greet each other and there is plenty of space for everyone.

Very nice place, perfect place for a romantic dinner or for group of friends. Food and Drinks are excellent. the waitress was very friendly. If I may suggest, they need to add a couple of sour beer to their drink menu. Wheelchair accessibility: I do not use wheelchair but the entry door on 2nd street was kind of too narrow specially in busy time. They may have another entrance door that I may missed it.
