We had a lovely meal with yummy soup, two appetizers, main course, rice, tea and dessert. Every bite was enjoyable. We had more than we could eat, so we also left with enough food for another lunch at home. Thank you again.

I recently dined at Chemo Restaurant, and I must say everything about my experience was excellent! The Barg Chelo was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, and the Loghme Kebab was equally delicious with its juicy, well-seasoned meat. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Gheime Bademjan Khoresht the combination of tender eggplant, split peas, and tangy flavors was absolutely delightful. I highly recommend trying the Shallot Yoghurt. It s the perfect accompaniment to the meal, adding a refreshing and unique touch to the dishes. The atmosphere at the restaurant is warm and inviting, and the service is impeccable. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that everything is served on time and with a smile.

I have been there recently and the taste of the meals got really better, thanks for caring about the quality .

We have been there several times. The portions are large, the quality is okay, but the koobideh isn t very good. In my opinion, the best dish is the Qeymeh Nesar. The staff are friendly, but it takes a long time to get served. My last experience there, which might make me stop going, involved the host (a man who is there most of the time). I asked if we could sit at a table near the window, but he said it was reserved for four people. We accepted and sat elsewhere. However, we later saw several two-person groups sitting at similar tables. When we asked one of the servers if we could move to one of those tables, they kindly agreed. After we moved, the host came over angrily and said, Why are you sitting here? I explained that we got permission from one of the staff members, but he just shook his head as if we were stupid and walked away. It was so disrespectful.

Hello, unfortunately, the pounded kebabs smelled very bad of fat and it was awful. We also told our friends. The staff comes and talks to the job seeker and gives a warning. Instead of the manager coming to tell where the problem is and solve it, I am really sorry for Chelo restaurant. Its a shame, really a shame, with this hot-headed staff

hello In my opinion, the quality and price of the food is very reasonable, the taste of most of the food has improved a lot, and there is a restaurant that we go to several times a month and enjoy the food.

I visited Chelo and had a pleasant experience overall. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were friendly. I tried the Kabab Torsh, Koobideh, and Joojeh Kabab. The Joojeh Kabab was definitely the best it had better flavor than the Koobideh and Kabab Torsh, which were both a bit underwhelming in taste. Still, it s a nice spot to visit with great service and a pleasant ambiance.

The quality of the kebab has significantly declined and is not the same as before, unfortunately. I have always been a regular customer at Chelo, but with this situation, I doubt I would want to come here again.

The food was delicious, the service was bad, we waited 40 minutes for the food to be ready and in the end 2 of our orders were mistakenly given to another table and our food was ready late...and no one apologized to us..

I had an outstanding experience at chelo Restaurant! The food quality was incredible everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Really good food, kebab is juicy and this is the only place I get joojeh (chicken) kebab from because its not dry at all. Taking off one star because service could be better.

I had a very disappointing experience at Chelo. The cashier, Mr Saeedi , who claimed to be the kitchen manager, charged us more than what we should have paid and was incredibly aggressive when we questioned it. His rude behavior was shocking and completely unacceptable. This really ruined our visit. I hope they address this issue.

I have tried various dishes in this restaurant and koobide kebab is the best in this restaurant, you must try it.

I have visited here on multiple occasions, the food has always been delicious and fresh. The portions are large, and prices are very reasonable. So far all the dishes we have tried were great, no complaints on the quality or taste of the food what so ever. The staff are polite, but the service could be improved a bit as the wait times are long and the wait staff are not as attentive. I have to say the service has improved a bit over the past few months, but could still get better. The resturant is very spacious and presentable. There has been some renovations which improved the appearance even further. Overall always been happy with this place and will be returning, I genuinely hope the service keeps improving as this place has the potential to be one of the best persian restaurants in North Van.

I recently dined at Cheloe , and it was an extraordinary experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The menu offered a delightful array of traditional Persian dishes. We started with the Kashk-e Bademjan, a creamy eggplant dip, which was bursting with flavor and paired perfectly with freshly baked lavash. For the main course, I ordered the Soltani , was cooked and comes with Zafron rice! The service was exceptional; our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. Highly recommend!

This place started first with OK food, then seemed to go down in quality and now has gone back up again, which is a pleasant surprise!

I was there yesterday and the quality of the food had gone down a bit. What really bothered me was the behavior of the gentleman who worked there, who was very rude and insulting when he was counting the bill. In contrast to the beautiful, friendly, and kind ladies, I dont know who that gentleman was, but he behaved very rudely. His blue clothes were messy and a little dirty.

Really great prices for the food quality and portion, the inside of the restaurant is also surprisingly nice.

I put the post in Farsi so that our Iranian compatriots can only read it. I am devoted to Mahnaz Jun and the late Mr. Behrouzi. And I also like the restaurants food, and in my opinion, the price and quality are really satisfactory, but unfortunately, I dont have a positive opinion about some of the women who work there. We all know how important it is to attract and treat customers. When they were there, they said that we dont have room, I said, well, what do you mean? shall we go Instead of telling the correct answer and the waiting time, they shook their heads, meaning to go. And unfortunately, the friends who were with us said that they also faced this behavior of that lady before I would like to thank the restaurant manager for taking care of this issue before losing more customers thank you

I visited for lunch a month ago and we ordered neck with rice, the neck was not of good quality and the rice was cold, but the behavior of the staff was good, the only problem was that it was hard to find them in that big hall.

I was really stressed because our guests had expectations matching the food in Iran, and I was very anxious about introducing Iranian cuisine in the heart of Vancouver. But they were incredibly satisfied and amazed by the high quality of the food. The eggplant and split pea stew (Gheymeh Bademjan) was excellent, and the sour kebab (Kebab Torsh) was amazing. Im very happy I chose Chelo.

A few months ago, I stopped going to Chelo restaurant due to the poor quality of the kebab and service. But after hearing from a few friends that the chef had changed and it was worth trying again, I decided to give it another shot today. I ordered the Ghormeh Sabzi stew, which for me, is a true test of a restaurants chef. If their Ghormeh Sabzi is good, it means the chef is skilled. The stew was very delicious and well-prepared, with excellent rice quality and an amazing saffron tahdig. You should try the Thorne sabzi

The quality of the food is reasonable, but sometimes the kebabs are not cooked properly. Saba is very nice, and when we stopped by late, she provided excellent service happily.

It was my first time to go to this restaurant. We had a ceremony, there were about thirty-five of us. The grilled chicken was amazing. Many thanks to the chef who cooked the kebabs well. It was neither burnt nor raw. It was great It was great to serve 35 press at the same time, which is a sign of the skill of the chef and dear servers. The staff of the restaurant are respectable and experienced women who served the food on time, collected it on time, and served tea and dessert on time. If you re thinking of hosting an event or birthday here, this is definitely the place to do it. The employees were very kind and respectful. Everything went very smoothly and their service was very fast. They had everything set up for us when we walked in. Every person in our big group had something great to say about Chelo. The environment wasn t too loud and the food was very good and juicy. It is a great place to host.

August 23, 2024 Last night at Chelo Restaurant Ordered Zabzipolo with Grilled Salmon Zabzipolo was stale no taste to it! Grilled salmon was tough, not fresh. Overall unpleasant experience. Did not enjoy my order at all. Not coming back.

This restaurant is perfect! I came from Windsor, a small city next to Detroit, Ontario. I just came to Vancouver to visit the beautiful Iranian community and eat my favorite Iranian food. I discovered this restaurant as a gift. I ate Fesenjoon here for the first time, and it was unbelievably delicious! I had Fesenjoon before at another Iranian restaurant, but it was not good quality. This food was not only very delicious, but also fresh and full of appetizers. I cannot believe the food can be of such high quality and at a very good price. The atmosphere is very lovely and encouraging, with very nice, polite, and respectful Iranian staff. I am here until September 2, 2014, and I will come here as much as possible. The food was good, but the ayran was bad. It was not only inedible, but also spoiled and therefore contagious. The staff were overworked and unreasonable. We will never spend money again.

Service was awful. We had to beg the waitress to come to our table. Asked for water, plates, knife and plates didn t make it to the table at all. Long delay to bring things to our table

The quality of their food is inconsistent. I usually order the Baghali Polo as a substitute for white rice with the Vaziri kebabs. Unfortunately, today the Baghali Polo was disappointing it tasted old, as if it had been refrigerated and then reheated, leaving it mushy and watery. The chicken kebab was also not up to the standard I ve experienced in previous visits.

One of the best places for Persian food

I recently dined at Chelo, and while the food was absolutely delicious, the experience was completely soured by the atrocious customer service. The staff were inattentive, unfriendly, and seemed like they couldn t care less about the customers. It felt like an inconvenience just to get basic service, which really overshadowed the great taste of the food. The atmosphere was mediocre at best nothing memorable. It s a shame because the kitchen clearly knows what they re doing, but the dreadful service makes it hard to recommend this place to anyone

Tried for the first time. Food was good! but the service, music, drink and overall experience was not pleasant, didnt enjoy it at all. I would probably not dine in again and just do a take out.

Visited from Seattle and I really wanted to like this restaurant but it would be my last visit unfortunately. Baghali-Polo was so bad and not look like fresh. I could find just 10 small broken pieces of fava beans in it. It was like they have just warmed up a leftover. Loghme and Soltani was not cooked well and was smelling disgusting after leaving it in just cool air of car for an hour. However atmosphere was good, servers were nice but they didnt even asked us if we need anything and food was served late. And a worker was screaming the orders at kitchen all the time which we could hear him while eating our food.

Service was very slow. We were never asked if we wanted anything to drink. After 30 minutes waiting we were told they had bone in chicken kabob and special barg kabob. Our Chicken kabob was so spicy we couldn t eat it.The only delicious thing was their salad dressing.

The worst customer service everrrr!!!!!! We went to celebrate a friend s birthday and the restaurant embarrassed us for the worst. The food was super late on the table, and there was hair in the dish! We asked to cancel the dish with hair while they didn t offer any discount or free meal to make it up for us! And the worst, they charged us for the wrong table and refused to do the refund because it would mess their till!!!! The staff were super rude and not helpful in no way, they tried to convince me that I paid almost the same amount as my order so they don t have to do the refund! The supervisor said she is not an accountant so she is not able to get me the money back!!! Like what in the hell?! And eventually when I asked for the tip I paid on the bill back, cuz what kind of service is that and you are asking for tip?, she gave me cash back still not my whole money! She preferred to keep the change to herself and acting weird! Never gonna get back there. Not worth the headache at all! There is no Zero Star for the ratings otherwise I would have ranked my experience a big Zero!

Don t get the koobideh, it is full of fatty tissue and barely any meat or seasonings. There are much better options in North Van for beef and lamb kabobs. Their joojeh kabob (chicken) was pretty good and the kabob torsh (Caspian sour beef kabob) was flavourful but over cooked and so chewy. For a middle eastern restaurant you would expect some tasteful decorations but this restaurant is decorated like a boring modern brunch place, and the music was so loud we could not hear each other at the table. Overall, avoid this place if you want good kabobs and a pleasant dining experience.

The barg kebab and the joojeh kebab were truly among the BEST foods in all of Vancouver s Persian restaurants! I ve been to almost all of the Persian restaurants in Vancouver, but the kebabs here are something else. Also, the service is excellent and their kebabs never fail to amaze me

We do not know much about Iranian food but enjoyed the rice dishes we ordered. Everything seemed very fresh including a very tasty Greek salad. Portions are very generous and prices seem very reasonable if not too low! We would have liked to have a bit more spiciness to the dishes. Booth seating is very comfortable. We were seated in a corner above the front desk so there were many staff exchanges that were a little distracting.

Most of those who know me know that I am a picky eater and I know food very well because of 12 years of restaurant management. Today, I entered the restaurant to eat lunch at around 4:00 and after being told to please, I chose a table, and a respectable lady apologized that the table had not yet been cleaned with napkins, and I cleaned the table before they brought me. I asked for Jo soup because the last time I went, the soup was brought exactly at the same time as the main dish, so this time I ordered early, the soup was brought relatively quickly, without any taste, just had a good glaze and a few parsley leaves, exactly the taste of a hospital. There were no vegetables left, the two previous times I had gone, let me not tell you what a great soup I had, it was really great, I asked the lady if she cooked the bean pilaf with neck today, and she said no, it was appreciated yesterday, and I said yes, please. About 15 minutes later, the food came This is where the story begins. I ate the first spoonful and felt salty. I thought the sauce on the neck was salty and I ate a piece from the middle of the neck. It was still salty. I called the lady and told her that this dish is salty and she said let me tell the kitchen after 5 minutes. They came back and said that the chef said, I cooked all the necks together. There is no salt. Then the lady turned red and white and said maybe you are eating too little salt. I said no salt and I dont eat this food. The lady left and another lady came and took the food and I said. Please give me a sultana, the lady came back from the kitchen again with a plate and neck and said that since you ate from it, we wont change it. I didnt argue and said that I will pay for this food but I wont eat it and bring a sultana and after 15 minutes they brought a sultana whose score is 4 out of 10 and of course In the meantime, one of the very respectable ladies of our restaurant brought the food to our restaurant and I paid for both meals. If it was any other restaurant, the manager would come. He asked the reason, not that he was hiding himself behind the ladies of the hall, and of course he told everyone that no, it is not salty, but no one says that it is yogurt, I am sour, Mr. Sir, it is very difficult to call you a cook, you do not know how to cook, what is the fault of the ladies of the hall, what should you do They face the customer red and white, and then you bully and say that it is not salty. The ladies are all respectful and if you dont admit your mistake, they really cant do anything. You are the beating heart of a restaurant, either cook well or find another job. Cooking is love and passion, then business. I am the main culprit of your dissatisfaction, I know that you are the desecrator of all the hard work of Behrouzis family and respectable staff, dont do it, my brother, go find another job.

Hello, I came to the restaurant today and ordered a handful of mashed cabbage, and unfortunately, after half an hour, they brought a soup and they said that we have a big order, and your food is late, and after a long wait, I came out without eating, and I was very, very nervous and upset.

The quality of the foods based on the price is acceptable but the time of preparing the food is so low we are waiting for our food 1 hour and 15 minute it shows us that kitchen capacity is not compatble with number of the dinning table. I am not satisfied for your srvices.

I ordered a Soltani Kebab, along with shallot yogurt and marinated olives. Everything was great except for the Barg Kebab, which unfortunately had too much turmeric. For a better flavor, its recommended to use meat that has been marinated overnight in onions, salt, and black pepper. Tnx

Amazing food!

Chelo is a restaurant that my family and I have frequented. The generally delicious food, the open and airy space, and the musical performances in the evening are all very inviting. In that context, my most recent experience at Chelo was quite disappointing. Along with appetizers, we ordered two entrees to share. The jujeh kebab (thighs) was undercooked. I pointed this out to our server and she agreed that it was undercooked. Serving undercooked chicken is an health code violation and I expected the restaurant to take it seriously. Instead, when it came time to pay the bill, I was charged for the undercooked chicken anyway.

The food was good, the space was nice and they had friendly staff. Only issue was, we didn t get water refill and they didn t take our plates away. We ordered dessert and tea and they just left all the plates from appetizer to main course on the table and brought in our tea and dessert, it was crammed. I m not sure If it s cultural thing, but it would have been nice to clear the table to make space for other items we ordered and also check in for water refills. It was our first time dining here and we will try it again.

I went to Chalo restaurant for lunch and it was a very bad experience. The chicken kebab was undercooked and had a bad smell, and the chicken in the Fesenjan stew was also very unpleasant. The kebab was literally inedible, and I had to ask them to take it back. The service was not satisfactory; we asked for separate containers, but they didn t provide any for the stews. I DO NOT RECOMMEND it at all.

We had a very bad experience today. The food was not fresh at all, and we could not eat it. This isnt the first time we have been dissatisfied, which is why Im leaving this review. Hopefully, the restaurant will take notice and improve its services and value its customers money. We wont be returning, and if you care about your money, I advise against going there. There are better options in North Van with higher quality.

Today, I visited Chelo restaurant and tried the Fesenjan stew. Unfortunately, it was the worst meal Ive ever had. I couldnt finish it and ended up feeling sick. When the restaurant first opened, the food was delicious, but now its not worth a second visit.

I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding a recent experience at chelo restaurant.during my visit I found a hair in my food plate instead a sincere apology the Garson insensitivity suggested that it may have been my own hair. As a loyal customer I expect a higher level of professionalism and customer service from this establishment.finding foreign objects in food is not only unappetizing but also raises serious hygiene concerns. I stop going this restaurant because their bad customer service and their behavior.

We ordered Kabab and Gheymeh Nesar. The Kabab tasted was good but looks like plastic, and the Gheymeh Nesar was awful! Definitely wont be trying this place again.

I said hello I wanted to tell you that the last time we came to the restaurant and ordered fish fillets, we saw that there was less rice and fish than before. I just wanted to serve you for your information

They should pay more attention to the customer. Two days ago, my frinds and me ordered food in this restaurant and I took a salad, i spotted an insect in my salad and showed it to the waitres who immediately took the dish away. important point is that they tried to ignore this case. No serving another salad . It was still on the bill that I told them that you will be charged for the salad that I could not finish? eventually i just didnt pay for that No apologize.

A few days ago my friend and I visited chelo restaurant for the first time and let me say the experience was horrible. I ordered Ghormeh Sabzi and my friend ordered Kashk Bademjoon. Can you believe that their Ghormeh Sabzi had garlic in it??? It didnt smell like Ghormeh Sabzi at all. My friend was also unsatisfied with kash bademjoon since it didnt taste good and it was so greasy.

We had Soltani Kabab, and it was great. We also got some takeout, Baghalipolo and Tahchin. Its generally good food at a reasonable price in a nice environment. I wish servers were more friendly!

It was the worst experience ,services on table came after 10 min of serving appetizers, 1 hour waiting but main course was not ready!, after one hour they said sorry still main course is not ready So we left the restaurant without our food and went another restaurant.

I really wasn t satisfied,the appetizer was served cold.Food served with lots of delay without informing the customer (waiting time more than one hour).service was awful.

So happy with our meals today at Chellos. We were on our way to a brunch place when we saw the restaurant, and pulled a quick u-turn to check it out. The decor and atmosphere is so chic and lovely inside. The food was SO good! I ordered koobideh, and my partner ordered the tumeric eggplant dip starter with pita bread. The quantity you get for the price is so great, and the food was delicious. Meat was cooked so well, and the eggplant starter had so much flavour! Definitely will be coming back again :)

Unwelcoming environment. I had a few bad experiences with one of the workers there, who works as a cashier. This woman has a hidden dirty look with occasional roll eyes. This is absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional and not beneficial for the profits of the restaurant. The food is 5/10.

I had a terrible experience with the kebab koobideh, which was completely overwhelmed by the strong smell of fat, and the tomatoes were completely cold. Went there tonight with family for my moms birthday, the staff were super friendly and checked on us regularly , They played happy birthday for my mom as well , and not to mention the food was 11/10 , the rice alone was gold

Our trip to North Van is never complete without dinner at a Persian dining place. This time it was Chelo s. The interiors of the place were subtle and chique. We ordered Lamb Shank and a chicken dish (cant recall the name). The service is a little slow but we were told about it at the front desk so we were mentally prepared for the wait. The portion size is just right. We were skeptical to order 2 dishes unlike our other persian favourites that have huge portion sizes. Nevertheless, a great experience. Parking: Also, free plaza parking that doesn t stress you out while you enjoy your meal!

Chelo is a nice and relatively large restaurant, tastefully decorated with friendly staff. We placed a takeout order, and they were respectful, with reasonable prices. However, we didnt like the food itself. The kebabs were undercooked and tasteless, and the rice was very dry with no butter included. We were disappointed and will never buy food from them again. I hope the restaurant uses our comments to improve the quality of their food. Persian food is delicious and requires skill to prepare well.

I go every month there with my friends to enjoy Persian food. Today itself I experience something very bad. When i was enjoying my food i see Hairs in kebob, Very very Unhygienic and disgusting.I did not expect this kind of food service from this restaurant.Very bad not recommend at all.
