Food is delish We sat at upstairs bar and had a good view of Vancouver. The bartender was our server and he was so cool and fun. You are greeted at the restaurant with a glass of bubblies. Food always rocks here.
Had a great dinner at Joey’s Shipyard in North Vancouver tonight. From the start, they made it special with a welcome drink of bubbles, and later, we were treated to a complimentary Bellini. For appys, we went with the Szechuan chicken lettuce wraps and hibachi wings. For mains, I had the steak and sushi combo, and my husband tried the grilled chicken club—everything was delicious! We finished off with a molten chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream! Service was top-notch. Our server, Taylor, was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable! The view of downtown Vancouver was also amazing and really added to the ambiance. Overall, it was a wonderful evening, and we will definitely return.
I ordered sushi and it was great. Staff are so professional. The restaurant’s atmosphere is very welcoming, and the view is amazing. We were also offered complimentary drink while waiting on our reservation. Highly recommend it!
My first time ordering thanksgiving meal from a restaurant & Im so glad we gave it a chance. The food was excellent, very easy to put together and it was delicious. There was salad, turkey, veggies, stuffing, dinner rolls, yummy mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy. For dessert there was apple pie & ice cream. Four of us ate & we have leftovers. Thank you for making our thanksgiving meal a special one. We definitely had more time to spend with family rather than spending hours in the kitchen & Im grateful for that.
Friday night we headed to Joey for date night, and we’re both happy we did. As with any Joey location we’ve visited before, it’s upscale casual done right. The atmosphere is perfect, with a colour palette, furnishings, music, and lighting that are all on point. As with other Joey restaurants in our experience, they’ve also done an excellent job of choosing great staff – both the hostesses and our server Harrison were excellent. The food was quite good. We started with the Scallop & Prawn Ceviche, the presentation of which was excellent, and even for someone like me who hates cilantro, it was awfully yummy. I can’t say for sure if the tortilla chips were made fresh in the back, but they sure tasted like it. As far as starters go, this one is a 10. We followed that by sharing the Chicken Parmesan – not something we’ve ever ordered, and perhaps not as enticing as some of their other offerings, but we simply wanted something different. Despite not being big pasta eaters, we still really enjoyed the dish. Chicken is often overcooked, but they nailed it, and it was juicy and delicious. Nothing fancy or notable here, just a very serviceable version of a classic dish. If this is a dish you’re familiar with, you won’t be disappointed. We always consider the restroom when rating a restaurant, and for the most part Joey did a great job ensuring it was clean and classy. Our only complaint was the absurdly awkward hand dryers. We both walked out of the restroom at the same time, looked at each other, and our first comment was about how we had to use the dryers from the side instead of how they're meant to be used – from the front. A small thing they could consider fixing. Overall a wonderful place to enjoy date night, with excellent service, good food, and a great atmosphere for enjoying time and conversation with your favourite human.
Had a late lunch there today with my son. We were greeted at the door by a lovely young man who was super kind with a welcoming smile who took us to an accessible yet lovely table(I’m in a wheelchair). Our server Rowen greeted us with a lovely smile. She was super friendly and helped us choose our lunch. Excellent service, excellent food. Thank you joeys for such great food & lovely staff. Was having dinner with some friends. Our server was really nice and friendly but at times seemed scattered. We sat periodically with empty plates at the table. Two plates would be taken away while the other two remained at the table and the server carried on to other tables. Perhaps the server is new or had to many tables. I've worked in the industry for several years so I understand what it can be like. The one thing I really frown upon is when the server doesn't have their hair tied back especially if its long. Our server was constantly playing with their hair and then placing the guests cutlery in front of them on the table. From a health and safely standard this is a big no no. Quite frankly it's disgusting. I was shocked when our knives were placed on the table two were very dirty, also not to mention it felt like our coffee was dumped into the cups the person who poured the coffee took no care to wipe the cup down. The person who served it probably had no idea. Over all it will be awhile before I come back here. Service is generally good along with the food but there really needs to be some attention to details especially when it comes to service and cleanliness.
If you find yourself in North Vancouver, especially on a Friday evening, make sure to visit this fantastic spot. The tuna poke bowl is a standout—its flavors and textures surpass even some of the poke I've had in Hawaii. The bowl features a delightful mix of fresh vegetables and a perfectly balanced dressing with just the right amount of spice. The sushi cone, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. It was rather basic and lacked any distinctive flavor or impressive kick. I wouldn’t recommend ordering it; there are better options on the menu to explore. The steak frites is also worth a try. While it may not be the best steak you've ever had, it's still quite enjoyable. I’d suggest taking advantage of the happy hour deals to get the most value. The combination of stunning views, a vibrant atmosphere, and flavorful food makes this place a must-visit.
Had lunch there yesterday, ordered the Joey Classic New York medium rare. It was the worst steak I ve ever had. You can buy better quality meat at Safeway! The cook was well done instead of what I had asked for. Overcrowded and understaffed. Very disappointing experience. Food

My husband ordered the blackened chicken on December 18th and got horrible food poisoning which has lasted for over 48 hours and counting and which required an ambulance call and a trip to the ER. We contacted Joeys Shipyards and informed them and they advised us that someone would reach out to my husband directly. No one has and it s been 2 days. Very disappointed and will not be visiting this location ever again.

Came by with the fellas to grab a quick peach bellini. Always hits the spot with the great view of the downtown skyline and ocean. Philip was a beauty server and made us feel at home.
I can confidently say that this place offers some of the best service I ve experienced. The staff were exceptionally attentive, polite, kind, and patient, paying close attention to every detail. The atmosphere was delightful and created an enjoyable experience for me. The food was tasty, though I believe there s room for improvement in the flavors. Overall, it was a satisfying and pleasant experience.

the food at Joey Shipyards was AMAZING- we got the classic steak and the steak and sushi, and both were just delicious and on point. But even better were our lovely serving team, Caitlin and Katrina, who went above and beyond to take care of us, offering me a taster of wine I wasn t sure about and giving us a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate our special occasion! I live in a separate city and don t get the opportunity to see my partner as much as I like, so they helped make it really special. Thank you Caitlin and Katrina, you both rock!
We had such a perfect night dining at JOEY shipyards. Booking was simple through their website, and I was pleased to see I could still do so a few hours before we intended to go. Super convenient for a busy Sunday night! Upon arrival, the host offered us complimentary drinks and gyoza samples while we sat by a beautiful fire while our table was readied. The lighting and ambience at our table was wonderful, and sure enough the food we ordered was delicious too - I dont think Ive ever scarfed down a steak that fast. The absolute best part of our evening though was interacting with our server, Isaac. What a legend. He was friendly and hilarious, and could read our table well. He was especially accommodating with figuring out my partners allergies, and I have to note the care the kitchen went to as well in this manner. All in all his manner and genuine care along with the rest of the staffs excellence really made for a truly wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend!

Lovely Place and food
I ve been to many JOEY restaurants across Canada but the vibe here is unlike any other. We sat on the patio close to the water and the view was great. The service was also exceptional and the food was consistent as always. The energy throughout the entire restaurant was unlike any other location, super fun. With all kinds of great restaurants to choose from I was skeptical about going to another chain location but I highly recommend you check this place out.

Our service, was outstanding- our server and the gal walking around were so kind, welcoming, helpful and very friendly. The food was good. My friend got the steak and I got the tuna. However, at 3am I woke up with the worst food poisoning of my life. It lasted 3 days and ruined my Taylor Swift concert experience. Extremely disappointed to travel so far and have my weekend ruined by a tiny tuna. I called the complain, spoke with the manager who promised a gift card but never heard back. I m sure it was an oversight but will never be eating tuna again. I truly feel terrible to leave such a bad review as everyone was so kind and accommodating but food poisoning is life altering.

Excellent all the way from start to finish, welcomed with a complimentary welcome bubbly drink and a donut amuse bouche to our excellent service with our server Cole we were here for Happy Hour (2 to 5) had the exclusive tuna tartare to start with and then steak and frite only to finish off with the molten chocolate cake (see picture below) everything was perfect!! And the outdoor patio atmosphere is hard to beat.

Very busy high energy restaurant. Between the host and our server we were treated well. When walking to the place from where we eventually parked was confusing. There s a misleading sign that had us walk down the wrong side of the restaurant in the pouring rain, which I found quite annoying. Also, parking is a blinking nightmare. Go early if you need to park.

Why would your hostess not call your name when your table is ready? They walked around looking confused. Why do some people get offered a glass of Bubbly while they wait...and others dont? Why overwhelmed your servers with too many tables. (Had 4 new tables within 15 min) Why was the glass of wine delivered during my last bite of my dinner? The time I waited for my drink was way too long. Not sure if it was bar or servers fault. These things are not uncommon at this Joeys. I wish they would fix it. Otherwise it would be great.

I recently visited Joeys at the shipyards and was extremely impressed by the service provided by the hostess, Aiko. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and a friendly demeanor. She was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable while we waited for our table. Her professionalism and efficiency were evident as she managed to keep everything running smoothly despite the busy evening. Overall, Aiko made our dining experience even more enjoyable, and I would highly recommend Joeys at the shipyards to anyone looking for great service and a welcoming atmosphere.

We came in for family dinner on a packed night. The front hostess got us in really efficiently and we were sat right away. Cassandra was our server and despite a mishap with our one order her and the management team took care of it extremely efficiently. Cassandra made our experience extremely enjoyable and with it being my first time, I ll definitely be coming back. We actually made a reservation for a large party as we were leaving, Hoping to be put in her section.
He asked for a private room, but they asked for this and there was slow service and we hated it. We re never coming here again.

Ice rink is right outside the restaurant. Service was great but every food item we ordered was mediocre at best. Cold fries, cold gy za, ceviche came in so much weird mango sauce it was like a soup. Not the same food quality as other locations

Hosted a business dinner at Joey Shipyards for a large group. The booking process was easy and the restaurant accomodated our group at a large table on the second floor. Many of the food items were very tasty and, overall, the event was a success. However, I was a tad disappointed with the service. I came in earlier to request oversight on drinks. As a company event, I am responsible for the guests. Unfortunately, the waitress did not use discretion and imposed/announced a drink limit which was contrary to my instructions. I had also pre-ordered specific appetizers which came out in a disorderly fashion and were not properly spread across the table. As an example, I ordered Hummus accompanied by vegetables for dipping but the vegetables arrived well after the Hummus had been consumed. Similarly I ordered three (4 ea) Mini Steak French Dips which, instead of being distributed properly, ended up at the far end of the table. With that said, we really enjoyed ourselves. I especially liked the location and panoramic views of the waterfront. The welcome drink was also a very nice touch. A total of nine appetizers, ten mains, two bottles of wine and roughly 13 drinks were ordered putting the bill at approx $100 pp. As someone who eats out regularly, thats more than reasonable. Given the opportunity, I would definitely book another event.

Allegra gave us excellent service tonight - food was amazing!
Our group of four visited for steak frites (medium rare), but the experience fell short. Drinks took too long to arrive, and all four steaks were served cold. The manager apologized and promised to reheat them and provide new ones, but the reheated steaks came back colder than before. While the replacement steaks were properly cooked, they arrived 20 minutes after we had finished our sides, making the meal disjointed and unenjoyable. Despite the poor experience, the manager offered only an apology, with no gesture to compensate for the unsatisfactory meal. Overall, slow service, cold food, and lack of accountability left us disappointed, especially on a quiet Wednesday night.
Kris was absolutely amazing loved all the food!! Was instantly greeted with complimentary bubbly and was treated like a prince throughout the whole meal! Loved it all every second of it. Sushi was no joke you have to try the sushi tacos!!!

Another great dining experience At Joeys Shipyards! Andrea and Bernardo were a great tag team and gave us top notch service , Gabby was so helpful and kind while helping us get our gift cards for the season. We always love coming here. The view is amazing, the service is excellent and the food is consistently great. The team at this location is terrific and we love the vibe here. It s fun, friendly and perfect for date night or happy hour with friends. Our favorite spot that checks all the boxes.

Had a great time with the family. Nice looking restaurant and views and shipyards outside are all really nice. Mediterranean bowl I had was great could have had a little more rice with it but everything else was great.
I have been there 3-4 times , their food quality are not bad but the service and waitress crew , every time had some lag in service and can be better , they didn`t take care the costumers !

Fantastic restaurant. They gave us a complementary glass of sparkling wine. I am always impressed with Joeys marketing. The servers were Friendly and efficient. The food tasted fantastic. I have yet to be disappointed with any meal at Joeys. We will go back again and again. Keep up the excellent work.

I so enjoyed my meal here! The gluten free bun house made, was unreal! Celiac for over 20 years and never had I had such a wonderful bun for my Chicken club! And the fries amaze! Our recent dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped in, we felt welcomed and right at home. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the friendly and attentive staff, created a truly memorable dining experience. The food was simply outstanding. Our dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Our server, Claire, was particularly impressive. She was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also incredibly attentive, checking in on us regularly to ensure our dining experience was perfect. We cant recommend this restaurant enough. If youre looking for a place where great food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere converge, this is the place to be.

Delicious meal with great service. Sam was out server, he was very warm and welcoming. We tried the whipped ricotta as a starter - unreal. Both had the ravioli as mains - also unreal.

We really liked our server, yet our meal arrived warm, not hot and late The service was not adequate, slow so maybe not enough servers on. Our coffee arrived cool and we are still waiting for desert! No ice cream available for our ordered desert, now just advised so busy that desert is further delayed so we canceled it.

Bernardo was also sooo welcoming and made sure to always check on us in between when Cassandra got busy. I appreciated the team work for sure!
