I feel like I m in Italy. Eggplant pizza tastes amazing.

We booked the private room for moms 80th birthday. It had its own entrance and washroom. Food was delicious. We ordered an assortment of salad, pizzas and pasta for 17 people with wine. They let us bring in our own cake. We had a great night.

Really good local Italian fare . Would love more ambiance on the patio, but you forget that quickly when the food arrives.

This spot has grown on me. Don t have this pizza for the first time as takeout. It s the type of crust that is best eaten with 20 mins of being baked. I ve tried many of the pizzas and they are all great but the pea pesto/ham one is my fave! Overall a nice vibe for Edgemont village, some people more dressy and others with kids and super casual. My areas for improvement: -add one more green salad option -no powder style parm on the citrus salad, a softer cheese would be better IMO or even no cheese but more citrus (we had one or two small orange slices and mostly arugula). -pizzas, and forgive me if this is not the case, but consider including a few more vegetarian or even some sort of chicken/chicken sausage type meat or even prawn. Something other than the pork based stuff (I eat this and like it mainly thinking about satisfying a broader range, which I realize is an infinite bar) -maybe one or two additional NA drink options on the less sweet side. The best restaurants have developed this well now. -service is overall friendly and prompt which matters most. It s not formal at all so don t expect a reserved server. My dream for edgemont is they will make an outdoor family friendly eating area/park, adjacent playground where people could take fresh baked pizzas in summer and eat al fresco.

I visited last Saturday, and Kurt was absolutely amazing! He helped me choose the best pizza I ve ever had, and his beer recommendation was spot on. I usually stick to one beer, but the pairing of the pizza and beer was out of this world. Thank you, Kurt, for making my dinner truly unforgettable!

We went there today for lunch. It took almost an hour for our order of 2 pizzas to come out. Tables who came before us got their food at a reasonable time and so did the tables after us. Our server apologized and made an excuse that the chef was busy. It seemed more like our order was forgotten and not entered.

Great food! Seating is a little too close to other people. My first pick for an Italian restaurant in Edgemont. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Lots of different options from all dietary concerns Parking: Sometimes you look out and there s parking out front, but usually you need to park on the side of the block Kid-friendliness: Definitely a kid friendly restaurant with lots of easy simple delicious options Wheelchair accessibility: Not that accessible especially because they squeeze so many tables in the restaurant. It would be hard to get around if you re in a wheelchair or walker.

Delicious food/Marvelous staff I m über-picky and they never fail to accommodate. The entire experience from the vibe to the visuals to the food itself makes me feel good and ensures I ll return and bring my best friends. It s the kind of place you want to introduce to the people you care the most about.

First time there. Really liked their food and craft beer. Its family run and has that authentic Italian vibe to it. Location is of course prime.

Not to overstate things but my wife and I along with our three kiddos (ages 12, 10, and 8, one of whom is celiac) loved this place. The food was fantastic (it was quite neat IMO to cut it with the scissors) and it was clear given the comradery that the staff appreciated the workplace. A special shout out must go to Mikaela who served us with spunk and a smile on two different occasions as our family trekked through North/West Vancouver - highly recommended!

Wanted to try every pizza on the menu but was advised to have the underrated pepperoni with a side of Caesar dressing and some amazing Chili oil to top it off.. 5 stars barely does it justice.. will be back to try the Diavola and others..

A must go for Celiac s and normal people!! Pizza was amazing, one of the best gluten free pizza I ve ever had in a long time. There is a designated gluten free area, they have a really tasty gf dough! Service was extremely good and fast I was super impressed how friendly the whole staff were. I can t wait to come here again!

We were there today at 7:20 pm and waited for 10 min at the gate to be seated and no one came to us. The server saw us but no reaction. Felt bad and had to leave to another restaurant. Service

Food delicious as always. Service disappointing as always. I understand serves want to to close early but no need to be so unwelcoming. All the staff made us feel like an inconvenience, specially the old guy serving us. We had our food as fast was we could and left the place. Enjoyed the food definitely not our time there.

As someone who used to rave about this place and tell everyone to come I have never been so disappointed. I brought my father here for Father s Day made reservations in advance. They stuck us in the side room right beside the door which just kept slamming open. Which then they locked it so everyone trying to get out was right behind us crowding and hitting our heads. When I sat down there was food everywhere up the blinds and on my plate and cutlery. The waiter helped everyone around and then returned and was like whoops. (The tables that arrived same time left 30-40 minutes before us because we waited so long to be served). When I returned home I got a warning from open table that I no showed me reservation with a message from the restaurant. Safe to say I will not be returning here.

Stopped in while on vacation. Food was excellent and staff were very helpful.

Visited around 1:30pm on a weekday. Please note that there is limited parking. All the pizzas are so good that youll be impressed! And the arugula salad is a must-try!

Go to spot when I have friends, family or clients from out of town. Also go to spot right after the Hatchery hike. Absolutely LOVE their vegetarian pizzas and pastas. Anything mushroom is a huge hit, so is everything else honestly.

We thought we had good pizza before but the pizza here is on a whole different level. We ordered Il Bastardo Pizza, Kids Pizza, and a simple Pepperoni Pizza. All pizzas were amazing especially the Il Bastardo. I never thought I would like a pizza without tomato sauce. This is the best pizza Ive ever had. The bread was to die for.

Great place for pizza, burrata, meatballs, tiramisu, wine. Bright, welcoming, attention to detail, amazing service. More of a lunch restaurant in my opinion. If you find yourself in Edgemont village, visit this restaurant. You won t regret it!

Ive been to Nicli many times and food has been very good. Im giving a one star because of the poor treatment Ive received last Wednesday night. It was still 30 minutes before closing time and I was greeted with rolling eyes and a Im only sitting you if you order now probably from the owner. When I went to sit on an empty table Ive got another angry look like I was giving too much trouble. Said thanks and left.

Ideal Meal: Focaccia to start, Rucola e Finocchio and Cavolo e Funghi as the main course, Lemon Tart for dessert and a Superflux Colour and Shape to wash it all down. One of the best meals I have ever had. With great service to boot.

Nicli is our go to place in Edgemont. The pastas and pizzas are delicious. They have a good variety of vegetarian options. The cocktails are well made. The staff is super friendly and always patient with our small kids. We especially love sitting outside on the patio in the summer.

Came in with my mom and sister and her friend and my mom while she was coming in he came and instead of greeting her he says is this a house or a barn CLOSE THE DOOR LOVE HELLO?! First off all rude and my mom said that s not how you greet costumers he than said than don t eat here. that s a CHILD OFC IM NOT GOING TO EAT AFTER THE DISRESPECT. no thank you. Nicli was a great option for pizza in North Van, but unfortunately my last two experiences left me very disappointed with the food and service, and hard to ignore after the same issue occurred twice. First time, I ordered a margarita pizza and this simple pizza came out without one of the three ingredients basil. When I flagged this to the staff they said they ran out of basil okay so maybe circle back and let the customer know so they can make a different choice or say they are okay with it? Thought it was a one off, but came back shortly after on another visit and got the pizza with the beef pepperoni. As a frequent customer, it was obvious when it came without the beef pepperoni and shredded meat. When I asked the server, they said they ran out of the beef pepperoni and added pork sausage this time a bit more frustrating because, substituting pork is quite presumptuous when not everyone eats pork for different reasons (thinking if a Muslim friend or family member was with me how this might have played out). Not happy with the service and the food they offer - won t be back.

Really good place

I ve gone to Nicli quite a few times, but have to adjust my review after my most recent experience. I went there with my 2 kids this past Father s Day. Our server took our order but we never heard from her again, we had to flag down different staff members when we needed service. One of my kids pizzas was liquid, and not edible. The staff (not our sever, of course) replaced it, and acknowledged that it had been poorly made, but it took a long time for the replacement to arrive. Then we ordered dessert, and only half of it came- we had to flag down a staff member to get the order corrected, which again, took longer than it should have. There were no apologies, and I typically don t expect anything complimentary as I know it s a business and mistakes happen, but I really feel disrespected by the whole experience and won t be going back to Nicli. Frankly, I regret leaving a tip, one certainly wasn t deserved. Add the presence of flies in the restaurant, and a lousy playlist, and it made for a lousy experience.

Great spot, great pizza, and they give you scissors to cut it with which has transformed how I prepare toast for my 6 year old, bearing in mind her aversion to crusts. If youre facing the window towards the end of the day I suggest bringing a welders mask, eclipse glasses or Cyclops from X-Mens visor as the sun will burn your retinas into a smoky, charred husk without them

Folks, Nicli Antica Pizzeria has a certification from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana in Napoli, Italy. This means that you are getting the very best of this style that you can find in the world. There are only 12 restaurant groups in Canada that bear this certification. Having eaten pizza in Napoli, including at the famous LAntica Pizzeria da Michele, which opened in 1870, I can tell you that eating at Nicli Antica brings me back to that same style of authentic Neapolitan pizza. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and will be back again.

Solid spot for a date night, we enjoyed the pizza and the legit italian drinks. Would swing by again for a good pizza night.

This is a great place to eat if you like wood fired Neapolitan pizza. We sat outside because the weather was nice, but the have indoor seating too. The place is nice and they keep it clean too. We ordered the margherita pizza which was great, although the really skimped on the basil. More Basil would have been wonderful. We also ordered the Rucola e. Finocchio salad which was delicious. The service was good too, although it took a while for them to greet us. Once they did the server was nice and helpful. We give this place a thumbs up.

Pricey, but a beautiful classic Italian experience, lots of gluten free options! The pizza was kind of falling apart but still tasted very good! service and atmosphere were great! We reserved a table for 4:30 as we had 2 young people - it wasnt very busy. We waited for 30 minutes, and a member of our party had to approach the manager re placing our order. Finally we were served: one pizza was missed and drinks were confused. We had to request water for the table. One pizza was raw in the center. Sauce and fillings were excellent but overall a very disappointing dining experience.

Love this place. Have had many lovely date nights here and tonight we had a birthday party for 12 people. The staff were all extremely kind and accommodating to our large party. They didn t mind that we stayed a bit over 2 hours and even sliced up and served the cake we brought. Highly recommend. Oh and the food is excellent

Nice restaurant, terrible service. I don t think they train their staff on customer service at all and the entire experience was a comedy of errors. Appetizers came out wrong and the staff were too busy socializing in the corner bar to notice, we politely sent them back when we eventually found a waiter to help. When it came to the mains, one pizza came in literally 15 mins before the rest of our party got their food because of a miscommunication with the kitchen. How did our waiter handle this? Oh sorry . Seriously? Sorry guys but as much as I love your restaurant this level of careless nonchalant service when I m spending nearly 30$ on a single pizza isn t acceptable. The front staff seem like they are there to hang out and chat with each other rather than taking care of paying customers who are treated like an after thought.

Delicious pizza, but the wait between ordering and receiving food was long. The waiter apologized saying there had been many take out orders. It wouldve been better to just hear the apology. Good thing hunger makes the best sauce!

Our pizza was soggy because they were undercooked

Three of us went for dinner the other night and had a lovely time. The music was a bit loud at first but the staff was super understanding and quickly turned it down when we asked them to reduce the volume a little bit. Dylan was our server and he was lovely, charming, knowledgeable, and made sure our waters were never empty. His timing was perfect and and made sure we had everything we needed. The pizza was fantastic, and they had a good gluten free option for the one of us who is celiac. The pizza did get a little bit wet and floppy in the middle after a little while but it did not impact the taste at all. I did notice the lights and string connecting them were fairly dusty and the mirror above the wine rack were also fairly dirty. It would make the dining experience more pleasant if the restaurant had a good spring cleaning! Dietary restrictions: Celiac

Honestly my first time going on to this restaurant in North Vancouver, I found it very different from the original location in gastown. In relation to the service, food quality I believe has not met my expectations. Also mentioned it was a birthday on reservations and nothing was organized on their side until I had to say something after ordering dessert.

Tonight I visited Nicli Pizzeria and ordered pizza, tiramisu, and focaccia bread, and it was an amazing experience. The pizza was delicious, with a crispy crust and flavorful toppings. The focaccia bread was also great, with a chewy texture and herb-infused flavor. But what really impressed me was the fantastic service I received. Despite being busy, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They even gave us a complimentary serving of tiramisu, which was light, creamy, and not too sweet. It was a really nice touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this Italian restaurant for the delicious food and excellent service.

Very dissappointing first time at Nicli tonight after having high expectations. Soggy under cooked pizza, one of the servers got everything wrong, but the other was good. Freezing cold dining room and filthy kitchen area. Wont be rushing back.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the pizza. Im delighted to say, its some of the best Ive ever had. Their crust is the perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with a delightful hint of char from the wood-fired oven. The toppings are fresh and flavourful, from the creamy mozzarella to the vibrant San Marzano tomatoes. I particularly recommend the Margherita - simple, yet beautifully executed.

We stopped here for lunch and we were glad we did. The focaccia bread was fresh out of the oven and the wood fired pizza was fantastic.

We ordered Rucola e Finocchio Salad and Cavolo Nero e Funghi Pizza. Terrible crust, greasy and poor baking quality. One of the worst piazzas we have ever had. 7 tables only 1 server. He lied to us that how they make Italian Pizza there, couldn t be that crispy and the base had to be wet?!!?? I got sick after that and had to cancel our plans for the day. Before lunch I only had 1 Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino. It ruined my 2nd vacation day in Vancouver.

Great pizza and meatballs

Sat in on a Wednesday late afternoon. They had the happy hour menu ending at 5pm. However we didn t get that. Felt hungry, as we decided to try the pasta than the pizza. I asked my server and he recommended the Tagliatelle al brasato, which was a braised beef shoulder. They have created a really nice space back at the patio with plenty of umbrellas to keep us in the shade, creating a much more cool and suitable environment. As for the dish, I would say it was seasoned nicely, the beef was very tender, and mixed into the sauce very well. The sauce taste like a beef meat sauce, which I liked. It was a tiny bit on the heavier flavor, however their portion was just right. Overall (out of 5) Taste: Atmosphere: Service: Cost: It came to around $30, excluding tips and tax. So I would say it s on the pricier side. Though it brought quite a good experience.

We tried 3 red sauces pasta varieties , and all 3 are pretty amazing. Pasta is al dente, perfect! The interior is very fresh and beachy. It definitely increased our dining experience.

Terrible service, food comes after 55 minutes, one at a time, first pizza was burnt, they made us a new one tho, asked for new plates, forgot, never checked on us, and they kept us waiting at the table and sending out deliveries. Not a single apology for burnt pizza or food coming after an hour! Not a single sorry. The pasta was tasty.

The staff here is terrible beyond what I can even explain. They ignore you to no end, I looked directly at staff and made eye contact and ask him to come over and they did nothing. I requested multiple times and it just kept looking at me not caring. I dont know how this place is the business! Theres no service here whatsoever they do less than the bare minimum. Such a disrespectful place dont waste your money go elsewhere. I dont know whats happening over the last few years but recently every restaurant Ive been going through the service has disappeared out the other. At this point you might have stayed home and learn to cook for yourself because this place is no different.

Disappointing. I was super excited to come here after experiencing the Gastown location before Covid and having it shut down. The food came quickly but it was all cold and under cooked. I walked by the kitchen and saw the entire staff was a bunch of high school kids that probably don t know what they are doing and we re scared to over cook the food. The pizza was cold and soggy. Pasta looked like dog food. This is the worst Italian dinner my partner and I have ever had. We won t be back again. We will stick to Nook. No wonder the restaurant isn t as busy as we expected. It was pretty dirty too. Bathrooms had random hairs on the walls and it the entire place just looks like they are pinching to save so they can t even hire a cleaner or proper cooking staff. These are things restaurants just can t cut corners on. Weird crowd there too. Not a vibe whatsoever. Server was nice, but came across like he hated his job. Again, servers were a bunch of kids.

I was just on a stroll around edgemont village a few weeks ago when I decided to try nicli antica for the first time. Did not disappoint loved the food and waiters, a little crowded but what can you expect from such an amazing restaurant! I ordered a diovola pizza and was taken back to the memory s of my home town of Milan. Very authentic Italian food would 100% recommend you try this place and fall in love just like I did. Vegetarian options: Loads of options for vegetarians(my husband) Kid-friendliness: Loads of kids which all seemed to be loving it. Can t wait to bring mine!

The best Vera Pizza Napoletana we ve had in north America s west coast (Seattle, Vancouver, California ) The sauce and bread are perfect and close to why you d find in Italy !

One of my favourite restaurants - perfect everytime! Everything I ve tried on the menu has been 5/5 including pizzas and wine. Their vegan pizzas are great too.

The absolute best pizza in Vancouver. Try the salami e fungi, you won t regret it! Staff are friendly and attentive and always make you feel at home. Fun home, Italian style. Owners should pay some attention to the decor, there are blinds that I ve noticed have been broken for some time, making it very warm in the summer. For the food and service, I will come back again and again!

Nicli Pizzeria is tucked away in North Vancouvers Edgemont Village. They originally started off in Gastown (that location is closed now) and then went on to open this North Vancouver branch. Featured here: Margherita Pizza Melanzana Pizza Campanelle alla Crema di Funghi Id read about this place over the years. Their Gastown location had gotten rave reviews so I had some pretty high expectations of this place. Sad to say that I was quite disappointed with our experience here. While the eggplant on my Melanzana was nice and soft, it was lacking flavor. What I found most disappointing though was the crust on our pizzas. It was thicker than Id expected it to be and was not at all crispy. Not the worst pizza that weve ever had but it certainly didnt merit all of the rave reviews Id read over the years. On the upside, Campanelle alla Crema di Funghi pasta was fantastic! The pasta was al dente and this dish was bursting with flavour. I usually order pizza to take out. The pizza is always delicious and fresh. However, about a few months ago I placed a takeout order and was told to wait about 15 minutes even though it was a busy evening. Thanks for the quick service, I paid a 15% tip, but my pizza was ready in 45 minutes. There was no explanation whatsoever that the pizza I ordered would be delayed as I waited right outside the door. I found it quite unpleasant for them to chat among themselves as they watched me waiting outside the door. Maybe they were a little bit sorry, but they said sorry buddy in a tone that couldnt be really sincere and gave me a pizza. At first, I simply reviewed the restaurants rating, but I wrote a review in the hope that they would see my review and provide more friendly service to guests.

This is my favourite pizza place in North Vancouver. We had them cater our wedding. The food was great, the service was great it couldn t have been better. They made everything easy and went above and beyond. My partner is celiac and can t have gluten. They did the whole wedding completely gluten free. Truly couldn t be happier. Would 100% recommend both as a restaurant and caterer.

Probably the best pizza in Vancouver. It maintains the Neapolitan style, using high quality ingredients and excellent preparation. Pleasant atmosphere and good service. I highly recommend it!

Tried so many pizzas and pastas. All are great. Il Bastardo is a must try. Desserts are also amazing. Tiramisu is so good.

Favourite pizza spot, best Napoletana pizza you will have in the lower mainland. My husband and I come here at LEAST once a month. We miss their gastown location but will make it out to North Vancouver just to enjoy the perfect Margherita pizza. Recently had their Campanelle alla vodka and it was delicious.

Excellent pizza and extra caring customer service. Their marinara sauce is one of the best well balanced sauces I have tasted in a while. We also tried a kale mushroom pizza that is delicious. And don t forget to drizzle them all with their perfectly paired chilli oil.

Great food and big patio space that allows dogs! We are vegetarian with dietary restrictions (no onion and garlic) and they are very accommodating with that. We had the margherita pizza and campanelle e fungi pasta. Both were great! Will definitely return again :)

I cant believe it has taken us this long to finally visit this awesome restaurant. The service was super friendly and the pizzas were amazing. They even come with scissors to cut them. How cool is that!? We will be back!

Excellent pizza and pasta! We had Il Bastardo and Polpette. While they were very simple, they were both delicious. (The meat balls were a bit too herby tho) Especially the pizza was the best Neopolitan pizza we ever had. (Neopolitan has a smaller softer crust with more sauce than cheese so often wet in the centre and a bit flimsy) Tiramisu and cappuccino were great as well. Would love to come and try more things. Highly recommended!

So I m not big on pizza. I rarely eat it. Since discovering Nicli, I am in BIG trouble! I cannot get enough of the mortadella pistachio pizza! The pizza crust is out of this world and the flavours unbelievable! I went twice on two different days in one week. Also my daughter is celiac and it s so hard to find good GF options for pizza and pasta. They completely nail it on the GF options. Run..don t walk the whole menu is amazing!! Prepare yourself for the brutal truth about my recent excursion to the restaurant s Edgemont location it was a complete and utter catastrophe. Lets start with the beverage debacle. The drinks served were not only a pathetic mismatch but deviated so dramatically in taste from our orders that they single-handedly ruined the entire meal. Its mind-boggling to fathom how a basic aspect like serving the right drinks could be botched so spectacularly. When told the server about the tastelessness of the Caesar my wife ordered the server simply said oh the bartender forgot to add the spices here you go you can add yourself!!!!! As if that wasnt enough, the absence of basic cutlery, especially forks, at our table was a new level of incompetence. This astonishing oversight screamed of a complete lack of attentiveness from the staff. Our attempts to remedy this situation were met with outright negligence, amplifying the disaster that was our dining experience. We ended up taking cutlery off another empty table! But wait, theres more! One of our orders was inexplicably abandoned, causing immense inconvenience. Imagine a party of two receives one order and the other never arrives even after 45 minutes! While I appreciate the feeble attempts at compensation and future incentives from our server, lets be clear I didnt voice these grievances for personal financial gain. My motive was to express the profound dismay of wasting a Friday afternoon enduring such a pathetic excuse for a dining experience. I initially extended the courtesy of an email to address these issues privately, hoping for an apology and a sign that the establishment might care about customer feedback. four days later, and not a peep in response. Bravo. To sum it up, this visit was beyond unacceptable it was a colossal failure. Immediate action is imperative to address these issues comprehensively. My sincere hope (though dwindling by the second) is that this feedback serves as a deafening wakeup call, demanding swift corrective measures to prevent such egregious oversights from decimating the Edgemont locations already tarnished reputation.

I went to Nicli in North Vancouver for dinner a few weeks ago with some friends. One of the people in the group recommended it, and they accommodate to dietary restrictions which is nice. The food and drinks were fine - not great not terrible (I did love the Nutella Mascarpone Cheesecake), but it was the service that was the worst. I would give the service 0 stars if possible. Our waitress seemed like we were a bother, which isnt really a great feeling to get when you are a paying customer at a restaurant. Very shortly after we sat down (maybe a minute or two) she came asking to take our order. We hadnt even opened our menus as we were greeting eachother, and asked her to come back. When she came back we ordered drinks and needed a few more minutes for our main orders, again she was annoyed. Once she took our orders for mains it was like we were invisible. She did not come to ask if we wanted more drinks, fill our water, see how our food was, ask if we needed anything else, nothing. I had to flag her down after being in the restaurant for two hours because we wanted to order dessert. We then had to find her an hour later to pay our bills. I cant say I will ever return to Nicli. I would rather go to a restaurant where my sheer existence is acknowledged.

We ordered two pizzas and salad for a dinner party. Foolishly, I did not check the pizzas before I picked them up. When we got home one pizza was perfect, the other was inedible. The toppings were off the crust and all over the inside of the box. Had I dropped them or transported them without care I assume responsibility. But both were packed together in an insulated bag and as mentioned, one was perfect. The other appeared as though it had been dropped or thrown on a shelf. We have been going to Nicli since it opened and have been regular, supportive customers. However, recently we have noticed a drop in both quality of product and service. It s not what it was. Too bad

This pizza is amazing. I havent had a better slice of pizza. The staff were helpful and friendly. Wonderful pizza (I was not over the moon about their pasta, but Im told I dont know good pasta), nough said. Didnt even know the illuminati that is the AVPN existed prior to visiting here. They are serious players in the pizza business. They dont mess around with things like pineapple and ham pizza (unless you get in a time machine and visit during Aprils fools, and even then they elevate the dish. If you ask for a pizza with no cheese and no sauce, they might reference the dish as a sandwich (with a smile). Its not personal, its business. Serious. Pizza. Business. Thank you Nicli, you have opened my eyes to what great pizza can be, and I appreciate you for it.
