The rice and noodles is a amazing restaurant!! The food is really delicious and you can see how much the staff enjoys to cook! The food is really made with love and right in front of you. The atmosphere is very chill and in general everything is well organized! Very very lovely place!! Emma and Claudia ❤️❤️
Pad Thai was great! It didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked, but not bad. The service was very attentive.
The best pad Thai I’ve ever had. The ingredients, seafood, etc., are extremely fresh. The staff is friendly , smile and humorous, which is nice to see in a restaurant atmosphere that is informal . . I also have to say that the restaurant is very clean which is something that’s lacking along Lonsdale. I also love that they’re open late. Some of us work the night shifts and it’s hard to find good food into the late evening.. They seem to be busy up the end too Can’t wait to try the other noodles however I just keep ordering the pad Thai because it’s so good Try to venture to something else
First time trying this place out. Searched Thai Food near me. I asked for Tom Yum with no tomatoes 7 spice, got a curry dish it looked good had lots of spice but I said I asked for Tom Yum. The other server was really nice about fixing it but when they brought the correct soup it had tomatoes in it and practically no spice! Language barrier. No one's perfect I guess. I don't think I will come back especially when it felt like the cook just had to take a look at who got a wrong order.
Ordered take out. Food was on time and came as prepared. But the quality of the food was really disappointing. Pad Thai was bland and dry, with the chicken being particularly dry. Chicken satay skewers were basically not edible - dry and hard. Green tofu curry had decent flavor but the tofu was dry and chewy. Overall not good enough food to ever order from here again
First time happening upon Rice and Noodle and glad we decided to stop in. Super tasty fresh food, flavours are spot on. The counter service was friendly and prices are fair. I had the Laksa - spice level 3 was perfect. Definitely more flavorful than other Thai or noodle options on the Shore. We’ll be back for sure!!
The ambiance of the store is impressive, and the crew is warm and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed my Laksa from Rice and Noodles Restaurant, which was packed with flavors and ingredients. It was delicious and provided a satisfying experience for the price. I always order here because of the quality they offer.
We have now gotten take out 3x in a row from here so I feel like it’s safe to say that we love this place! It has been challenging to find good and reasonably priced South East Asian take out and this is so much better than what I was expecting! I feel like I’m eating the food of my childhood. So far, we’ve had just the Pineapple Fried Rice and Coconut Curry Soup and both have been fantastic! The Gyozas are also very good! I took a point off for atmosphere because I don't think this is the kind of place that is intended for dine-in anyway, but it's clean and fairly spacious for the size should you wish to stay. The food was also ready right on time and the portion size was quite generous.
Spring rolls were good , gyozas were not good. Currey sauce was good , rice and chicken were ok. Would probably try it again as the curry was pretty good. Green curry hints of coconut flavour which I like.
I ve ordered from here a few times since they first opened and I haven t had an issue until Sunday night. Some of the food was cold when it arrived, and the curry had barely any sauce - which I could ve looked past if I hadn t gotten food poisoning. I haven t been this sick in a long time and although I normally love Thai food, I won t be ordering from here ever again.
Edit: pad Thai has no flavour at all, brutal. Level 2 was spicy enough that I didn t enjoy eating it. They only put 2-3 prawns per dish. No dipping sauces included for spring rolls and gyoza. Very .meh.
I absolutely love the food here. Its one of my favourite places to eat out. Everything Ive tried has been delicious
Great crew working the supper rush, super friendly and quick to help customers needs. Dinner rush was mid swing and the team made my partner and I feel welcome, great tasting food with different spice levels for people who like spicy and not so spicy food. Definitely recommend trying the food out and the price is fair for the great food you get.
Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options. Food
We really enjoyed our food. Prices are quite treasonable and portions are generous. We will definitely order again.
Love the pad thai
The food was great but beware of the prices online... the pineapple fried rice with chicken is only $12.68 IN STORE but I got charged $18.38. The only reason why I ordered online was because nobody was picking up the phone after several attempts, I guess it was a very busy time for them. I wouldve ordered in store even being at work had it mentioned online that there is a significant price difference. Again, food tasted nice and fresh and delicious. Update: I am actually obsessed with the pineapple fried rice and order it frequently. The staff are always welcoming and friendly!
a chill mostly self serv spot but holy shoot the food was delicious, my boyfriends a picky eater and he gobbled it up. price not bad at all considering the portion
My husband and I have been regular customers at this location and we have always been so impressed with the food, and love the staff. However, we can taste the difference of the all-new culinary team in the food: something is missing. My husband s pineapple fried rice was not as tasty as usual. The rice was soft and falling apart, the veggies overcooked, and the spices weren t coming together in a balanced way. I just wanted to leave this review to encourage the new cooks to maintain the high standard we know at rice and noodle lonsdale, set by the previous kitchen team. We will continue to come in and look forward to better meals and the quality we have known for the last 3 years.
Ordered on skip, fast delivery but found the food was ok with small portions and when you add meat it was very little. Taste was ok, weve had way better. Probably wont order again unfortunately, had high hopes.
We ordered from them 2 nights in a row (identical orders) and when we received our order on the second night the containers of curry were less than half of what we had received on the previous night. The peanut sauce we received had literally been watered down. And due to the fact that it was ordered through Uber eats, there is no recourse or way to make this right. If this was the only bad experience have had with this restaurant, I may not be inclined to leave such a review. This is not the first quality control issues we ve experienced here. We will not be ordering from this restaurant again. Shameful.
I m not sure which was better - the red curry which was 1/3rd of way full in a shallow bowl or the 3 prawns they put in it. Excellent customer service - I ll be sure to recommend people eat here. Thanks
Customizable meals with an added spicy rating from 1-10. Pretty efficient process and relatively quick for takeaway
The staffs are accommodating and the service is fast. The meals are good for 3 people and its delicious.
I bought from Dordesh, and even though they had a promotion and said that they sent me only one piece of food, and when I called and followed up, they said that you didnt order at all.
the food is well cooked, the food is very tasty. the employees are kind, cheerful and respectful. the surroundings are nice but its a bit hot inside the restaurant.
Great place for a quick sit down meal. Pineapple fried rice and Tom yum were great and good portions as well. I wish Tom yum came with a veg broth option
I ordered the Chowmein and it was really good. Good portion size for a fair price
zomg. So good. I asked for hotness 9/10... I should have gone all the way. Will return! Edit: asked for spicy insane level 10. I enjoyed the pain while eating and after eating. Recommend. Update: asked for 10 in Tom Yum noodle soup, and is not 10. Sorry, minus one star. New update. Asked for 10 spicy, and got a 10 spicy. Thank you. Plus one star for food.
(2023 update: Ordered the chow mein again, figured itd been over 2 years, but they are consistent! Ill give em that, it was burnt again and all you could taste was a burnt stir fry, please lower your temperatures to avoid burning all your dishes, the flavour is horrible when you burn the whole dish.) (2021) Rice and noodle has pretty good pad Thai, which I previously enjoyed, but today I got the chow mein and it was soggy and burnt. As soon as I opened the box, all I could smell was burnt food. It had been stir fried so everything tasted like burnt vegetables. The noodles were fine, but as you can see from the picture, most of the veggies, if not all, were quite charred. I would still recommend the Pad Thai as its a hit, but the Chow Mein is a miss unfortunately. First time I got the pad Thai, I also found a hair in it, not ideal. I suggest hair nets to minimize chances of hair getting into the food.
The Thai cuisine here is consistently satisfying. Its an ideal spot to unwind after a long hike, and I particularly savored their panang red curry dish.
I dont know why my partner and I feel that we like it better here than at Robson str. We really like going here
This Rice and Noodle is SO hit and miss.. Last order was ok, while todays one (exact same dish) tasted bad and gave stomachache. Does not worth the gamble! Food : 1/5
Had Pad See Ew, It was tasted burnt. The team remade the food for me. Reasonable and understanding staff. Definitely will come back Food : 5/5
The Creamy Peanut stirfry is like a curry, very soupy and DELICIOUS! I also enjoyed the classic yellow curry. I will definitely be ordering from here again!
Great place for quick, easy and healthy meal.
I ordered for dinner through Uber Eats and instead of my order which was three items for my family they sent one rice. I called the restaurant to tell them and the woman on the phone told me they dont have delivery and I was out of luck because they had handed off the wrong order. So I called Uber who gave me a refund, but when I woke up in the morning they have charged me $2.63 for the rice they sent. I hope it was worth losing a customer.
Food was really good. Reasonable price. Hot and smoky inside though
I was a regular customer, but today food was very bad........ I am not going there anymore
The ambiance and food at this branch of Rice and Noodles in Lonsdale were outstanding and exceptional. A must-visit! An unforgettable experience this afternoon with exceptional service. The employees were accomodating and friendly. I suggest that you try their Laksa soup and Thai Coconut soup, its flavor and ingredients would surely make you come back!
Went to get the #6 Pineapple Fried Rice like I always do. I asked the young Man behind the counter if I could pay for some peanut sauce for my dish. He refused to serve me the condiment, stating that it only comes with the #7 meal. This is the last time Myself and my Family will spend money at the franchise location.
I have a good lunch here every time I dine.. I have found the crew are all nice With Ryan who help me today such a good guy 05-06-2024 I love to dine here.. it s always good service
As good as always
Great food at great prices!
Insanely good food, for impossibly low prices.
Im not sure you could find a better noodle meal for $12.75. While on the sweet side, they maintain a great quality for the price making an affordable family meal.
Haven t been to the other locations so can t compare, but the wait to receive the soup at the North Van location is quite good. We ordered the Thai Coconut and the Laksa soups. Thai coconut is definitely on a limey scale where the Laksa was very much Thai curry flavor. Both ordered in 3 peppers spice level which was perfect. The portions are very decent and we were stuffed.
First time ever coming here. Plenty of selection , I ordered the #13 Laksa with spice level 3 - which was perfect. (I enjoy really spicy flavors) but found three was good. Probably could crank it up a notch next time. Overall tasty and good value for the portion. Interested in trying some other items off the menu soon!
Wonderful Thai food, no complaints and large portion sizes
Staffs are friendly and the food is great as always. Well recommend to friends defo.
Soild vegetarian options at great price. I love their curries.
Filling and afforable but the ingredients werent too fresh. Still was a hearty meal. Parking: Free street parking, so naturally a little bit of a hassle. But it wasnt too busy so everything went great!
I really like the food service specially atmosphere... One of my fav food in rice and noodles is kung pao.. Food
Great value for money really consistent experience. Place is clean and professional.
Always delicious. Very quick. CLEAN!
I ordered a yellow curry and after waiting for awhile - they told me they had run out. I appreciated how much of an effort the female host cashier made to accommodated me. I also had made request on the chicken which they came through on. Thank you. Food
Yummy food, fast service, friendly staff. Their laksa is my favourite, followed by the pineapple rice. Made the mistake of ordering mild spice last time, and the dish came with way less flavour. Will definitely go for medium-hot next time to get more flavour & sauce. Vegetarian options: Easy to make most of the dishes vegetarian, just by choosing tofu or no protein.
Excellent food for a reasonable price. Absolutely delicious, fresh food that is healthy!
Four of us ordered lunch at Rice and Noodle, Lonsdale, last week and a mistake was made on our order. We were a bit disappointed, as one dish did not show up. As we were eating, what we got, the staff made us, at no charge, the dish that was missed. Great customer service! Ji, the lady behind the counter, and the rest of the staff were wonderful.
Gave me horrid food poisoning
Tomyum soup was amazing. The chicken satay on the other hand... shouldnt be deep-fried was quite disappointing. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant
Food is usually good, the protein choices sometimes are not the greatest. Ive tried most of their dishes and they taste really good its just the odd times that you get a bad cut of beef or chicken. Obviously not an authentic Thai restaurant, its more like a westernized Thai fast food chain.
Really bad, low quality food. The beef in dishes is absolutely atrocious! If you value yor health: DONT ORDER RICE AND NOODLE! Someone who doesnt mind chewing on hard meat nerves might disagree though...
The worse place. First of all, everytime she could not hear me, she responded with a what no manners. Second, I left an item on their table and phoned back to get it within 15 minutes and without even checking, she said no we don t have it . Didn t even ask what it was. Stay away from this place.
Great little fast food place! Service is fast and employees are super nice! Watch the heat levels!
My friend and I had 1Tom Yum soup with the prawn (spicy level 8) and 1Yellow curry with Chicken (spicy level 4), the chicken in the curry was so great and the soup was also tasty. Somehow the curry was more spicy to us lol I scored 3.5 on the reasonable price and short waiting. I definitely will come again for other menus.
Great tasting food and great portions to go with it. Must try!
Rice and Noodle on Lonsdale is a popular Asian-fusion restaurant known for its delicious and affordable dishes. Located in the trendy Lonsdale neighborhood, the restaurant has a casual, laid-back atmosphere and a friendly staff. The menu features a wide variety of dishes to choose from, including classic Asian favorites like stir-fries, curries, and noodle dishes. The restaurant is particularly famous for its rice bowls, which are loaded with an assortment of vegetables, protein, and flavorful sauces. In addition to its entrees, Rice and Noodle also offers a selection of appetizers, soups, and salads. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. Overall, Rice and Noodle is a great spot for a quick and satisfying meal. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
Allow me to start by saying that this place is fantastic. Great food, friendly staff, fantastic portion size. I simply had two less than ideal experiences months apart in between years of excellent service. If you want a recommendation, this is it. You got it, absolutely go and eat here! The only problem is that the two bad experiences we had were particularly memorable. Both times the staff were extremely apologetic and gave us store credit, but the experiences were bad enough we had to stop going for months at a time. I completely and wholly recommend going, however, like I said, months of going here weekly, with no complaints whatsoever! Do not let two experiences sour you from YEARS of impeccable service. Vegetarian options: Most, if not all, dishes have options to add either a meat-based protein, tofu, or veggie medley, all fantastic.
Over cooked, smell awfully.
I have enjoyed every dish i have tried here. The staff here are really awesome too. If you like spicy, Id go for level 5+. Anything less than 4 is mild. If youre feeling hungry, its worth it to add on extra protein and veggies. Overall this place is great, I really like the food here.
Street hawker feel-curry is on the money.
THAI food on Lonsdale FOOD: They serve Thai food on this restaurant. Beware of the level of spice it can be too spicy for some. Always go on Pad Thai and soup. PRICE: Servings are price appropriately. But the price is if you only have cravings. You wont be eating here everyday, if you know what I mean. STAFF: Friendly and Efficient service. For dining in customers, most of it would be self service including getting your water on the dispenser. LOCATION: centrally located which means hard to get a parking spot on rush hours. A good spot on commuting customers as this is a few steps from a bus stop. If you live nearby, just walk. RECOMMENDATION: I always change what I order everytime I go. Coconut Soup is good, but safest order would be pad thai. Food services available if you want this at home.
I ordered a pineapple fried rice with no protein and it came with chicken in it. Not the end of the world but I called back to let them know and they remade it for me, and the second order also had chicken. Lol. So I just won t order here again as a vegetarian because that s quite off putting to me.
Best laksa! Parking: Back alley
I had ordered a prawn thai curry a couple of weeks ago. There were three prawns in the whole dish. Very small portion. Disappointing!
For a takeout place the food is decent quality. The service is outstanding.
Every dish was put out within 5 minutes and was delicious. Staff were very friendly and kind. Vegetarian options: All options have the option to add protein Wheelchair accessibility: Flat surface door that is decently wide, no stairs
Dietary restrictions: Plenty of Gf options Food
Not consistent cooking. One day it is okay and the next it is a greasy spicy mess. You order spicy level 3 and it is level 7... I was a regular customer, but I have enough of this.
Delicious and fast food
Unbelievable service recently. I just can t understand why the cashier is always confused & mixes the orders. I ve been this place customer for 2 years & this is a huge mess. I hope you guys fix this soon.
I loved your foods, now I hate them, There are reasons for that your customer service and your food quality . Your cashier always is confused ,I ll never come back .
The food is delicious and priced pretty well! Nice atmosphere However, i feel like the Extra protein option is not worth the price in my opinion. Still give it a 5/5. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Very tasty meals, kind and friendly staff.
Love this place, food is delicious. It can be a-bit hit or miss with the spice level, but aside from that great quality food, at reasonable prices with speedy service!
I specifically asked for extra spicy. Not only was there NO spice but the entire dish was very bland. No flavour at all. Warm and soggy flavourless veggies. Took a chance because I like noodles but will not order anything from them again.
This is such a great restaurant to dine in for delectable, healthy and reasonable price foods. I loved it and I will go back again soon. Their staff are friendly, professional and clean. Thanks to all of you and I wish you all the best.
today i went with my wife to have dinner around 7:30, restaurant was empty and no line up, only 1 couple finishing the food at the table. ok the servter came to take our order , first of all no smile at all and not even welcoming to our place. she was in a hurry just to take our order ( its like give me your order and get lost). we did the order ( only 2 Dishes ) and we went to sit and prepare our self to have the food. i went to the washroom and in my way back i was looking to the kitchen didnt see any body preparing our food !!!!! instead everybody was cleaning inside, and not even the stove was on !!!!! was off and all the bowel was not there ... I ask the same friendly server that she help us when our food will be ready ??? she answer : it will be ready have seat !!!!! I ask again when it will be ready ? she reply 10-15 minutes ( for sure more than that ) so I had to cancel my order and get my money back , the same server said: we are cleaning the dishes because its piling up and we didnt have time to clean them !!!!! seriously !!!!!! I worked in restaurant before and i know how it works . you have to be ready till the moment youre close the door .. this is how you serve your customers , not waiting for 15 minutes your not the KEG . its not my fault that your dishes need to be washed and you need to clean the place .another server came or i dont know whats here position and cancel our order and refund the money and she was nice with smile. any way another restaurant to the black list i guess And this is North Vancouver location
Loved the food and the quick service. Watch out for spice as it is no joke.
Food is great but they cheap out on food
We have probably tried every dish on the menu and we love them all! The chicken red curry is our favorite. They are all prepared well but so fast. They lady at the cashier is always nice and attentive.
This place is awful! I don t care how their food tastes cause we haven t tried it. A senior I care very much about went in to order something and when he asked for help on reading the board and some suggestions on what to try, they replied to read the board and walked in the back totally ignoring him, he stood there for at least 5 minutes waiting for them to come back before he left . How can someone in this day and age treat a senior this way! I will never ever spend my money there with service like this
I ordered Thai coconut soup with beef, rice noodle and boiled egg. I can say that the portion size was really generous. The smell and taste was good. It was delivered on time and it was warm.
Food was great, but the place is really hot they should consider putting an air conditioner.
The food is always delicious, I just wish the level of spice was more consistent. My mom ordered level one (mild) as she doesnt like spice at all. It was so hot she couldnt eat it. I usually get level four which is almost perfect. I got level three this time and theres absolutely zero spice. Amazing food just please be more consistent. Vegetarian options: Love their veggie options!
Pad See Ew was DELICIOUS! The Chicken Satay was okay, a bit dry so not our favorite. Chow mein was good but noodles not really my taste. Bathroom is cramped but clean. Sll in all, decent place. Definitely want the Pad See Ew again
The lady at the reception was extreme rude around 12pm on 28th july. 1st of all made the wrong order, then got rude, i dont know why. While payment too, maybe kinda racist. Greeting even was so rude, i order so much food from here but wont anymore due to this bad experiebce
They offer a really affordable meal. I usually get the Tom Yum which is only around $10. Its a good deal and fills you up. Usually I can have lots left over. I have tried their Pad Thai and Pad See Ew which are both very tasty, except Im not as big of a fan of their Pad Thai as it is too sweet for me. Really nice service too where they bring the food to you, although you have to go get your utensils yourself.
Love this restaurant. Reasonable price & great taste. Creamy Peanut Stirfry is my favourite one. This restaurant gives ease and comforts. Simple menu makes decision easier, and the presentation and description of the menu are clear and easy to read.
Good for cheap eats. Order was inaccurate and still managed to be delicious. Vegetarian options: Added veggies and shrimp to pad Thai and paid extra. Food : 4/5 |
Got the chicken pad Thai, spice level 5 and it was great. Only thing is, I ordered level 5 as I thought it would be medium. I was wrong about this and realized I should ve read the sign which says 5 is pretty spicy - that s a fault of my own.
I am commenting as a customer and a food delivery driver. Their service and food used to be great. Lately, Ive noticed that the quality of both have been downhill. As a customer I have less concerns. Speaking for the delivery drivers, Rice and Noodle used to have amazing service 1-2 years ago. I dont know what went wrong, the current staff members doesnt seem to care. Just wanted to bring this to the Managements attention. I understand that your staff is super busy during peak hours. If so, try to find a solution rather than making your employees over work. I hope you consider this seriously.
Staff was friendly! Food was prepared quickly and tasted delicious. Seating was clean and restaurant appears to be popular.
I ve ordered the pad Thai three times and it just keeps getting better. Perfect amount of wok hei flavour. A bit on the spicy side - even medium has quite the kick. Overall, incredible pad Thai. Will keep going back.
The food was really good, casual spot. Id reccomened going with less spice than you think. I like spice and I got a level 5, it was a bit more than I expected and Id go with a 3 next time.
Ok food but pathetic service - if you order online, it ll be least priority
OHMYGOD I was not expecting food to be that good. Literally I was starving and that place was relatively close so me and my family decided to eat. We ordered 2 soups and a pad Thai and its SO MUCH SOUP and so much food overall. 10/10 experience would go again. Only not amazing thing was the service that has little room for improvement but I loved it
Food is very good, I really like their coconut soup. But today I ordered it as a take out and didn t get neither a spoon nor any other cutlery and napkins. I didn t eat all day, so I was really hungry and expected to have my dinner, but this little mistake spoiled my mood It would be great if the restaurant had as good service as their food P.S. no one asked me if I need a spoon, so I thought it was there by default.
I love everyone here , the smiles these guy have here is awesome, I really like fried rice made by the guy who wears a black hat. These guys are the best , every individual has my experience here the best one
Just commenting earlier experiences with this restaurant were much, much better. Ordered last night and underwhelmed on both dishes we ve had before. Flavors were less tasty and proteins were cold. Tasted like they d been overcooked several hours previously then tossed into our orders. Maybe will try again here but heads up to management your food qualities are definitely sliding in wrong direction!
What a treat! We were quickly served and it was nice to be able to choose the degree of chili in your dish. There isnt a lot of seating, so youre not sure youll always be able to find a place. The only downside; you cant really hear the waitress with the noise of the kitchen and the music which is really loud.
The food was delicious. I ordered pad-thai noodles. The serving is good for 2 people. Friendly staffs. It is a self-service but because we were a group, they offered to serve our orders at our table. The place is clean as well.
Freshly prepared and super tasty!
Super good really good portion for price pad Thai is amazing. Love this place
it was terrible. I mostly order Chowmein from rice and noodles,l and each time its going to be worse than the previous one
Amazing laksa broth. Able to customise your ingredients order. Tasty pad Thai. Standard fare spring rolls . Yum!
Ordered a padthai level 8 spicy off door dash and like usual this restaurant never actually puts the spice in.. if you want spicy then you actually have to go in a tell them that you want it spicy because they wont do it when ordering through delivery service.
it s amazing and delicious asian food with positive vibe
Hey guys To be honest, I had just a bowl of soup there but twice, why?! Cause it was amazing the great taste of a real soup and also its a big bowl, so a portion of it will make you full You can ask to add some protein to it or not, its optional. I havent had anything else on the menu, but I heard the rest are good too Im gonna try them later one by one and Ill let you know Good luck
Normally food is good but ordered Kung Pao Chicken and veggies/nuts are charred. All I can taste is the charred very disappointing.
Very delicious Parking: In front of London drug Food : 5/5 |
Love the chicken & veg with peanut sauce. They give you the perfect amount to satisfy your cravings.
This place is slower than molasses! If you order take out they ll give you a pick up time, and when you show up, you end up waiting much longer. This happened several times. Not impressed!
Best Pad Thai, good serving size and pretty cheap!
Best service, staff are friendly, courteous and have positive demeanour. Clean and of course good . this place.
Craving laksa... not from around here. Found this place and it was very good. Order at the counter place...but not fastfood quality. Super quick service. Lunch was in front of me in under 5mins. Huge portion!! Filled my craving and not dissapointed.
Ive had the #13 and #10 it was quite good. Ill go back.
This place is a fast food style establishment with the menu carrying simplified(westernized) basic versions of some famous asian dishes. Its quick, cheap and very filling. The staff are polite and very very hardworking. The kitchen is a bit dirty and God knows this place has given my stomach the runs a few times but you live and you learn. A very average place that you can rely on in your time of hunger.
A surreal experience. A party of 8 of us dined here. 4 adults, 4 kids. This is effectively a food court experience, its wrong to call this a restaurant. Prepay, get your own cutlery. You should know meals may be ordered 1-10 on a scale of spiciness. 2 of the kids had their meal ordered 2 out of 10, apparently this was mild. They could not eat their meals because things were too spicy. The other 2 kids were ordered 0/10 and were fine, though their smaller tummies couldnt fit it all in. Generally, the portions are bigger here. The 4 out of 10 green curry for my wife was surprisingly spicy in her words, and she said she didnt enjoy the meal because of how spicy it was. The other wife ate perhaps 10% of her meal, thinking it was too spicy also. The two dads, of which I am one, aspire to be real men one day and so both ordered laksas, his 5/10 and mine 7/10. I didnt consider my meal spicy enough to rate 7/10, we definitely werent switched because of the color. We were the only two to finish our meals. Wife said there was loud music in the kitchen making it difficult to verbally order the meals at the kiosk - no waiter will take your order. Metal soup spoons, with plastic cutlery otherwise rounded this experience off as just odd.
I am very picky about pad Thai because I ve had the real deal in Thailand- I ordered it expecting it to be meh, but it really surprised me- it was freaking delicious! The sauce was perfect and just so tasty! Be careful with spice though- it s no joke I got a level 4 and it was pretty spicy for me and I like spicy food! I will be back for sure.
Fast , clean, tasty , yummy and well portioned! Spicy level 5 was perfect!
This place is okay. If youre ordering delivery, they dont let you make any adjustments to the meals, so it can end up being being limited (if youre allergic to eggs, for example). Last night, I wanted something warming, so I ordered the Laksa. Upon eating it, I found a sticker IN my food. Not at all impressed- please put more care into delivery orders.
Why did you even bother turning the lights on in the kitchen this morning? Perplexingly poor effort.
Very good and big portion
I ve only tried the coconut soup so far which is really good and a really good price. I will admit I skipped the protein because I tried the protein st robson location and it was nasty but could be just there? They offer water also which is nice. Quality cutlery too. They can certainly benefit from having a cleaner and better smelling and more pleasant eating area. this location the spicy level is actually really spicy, more so than robson so keep in mind while choosing spicyness.
I like that they offer 10 levels if spicy for you to pick and the food is as spicy as my expectation. The pad Thai was tasty but the portion is quite small. Laksa soup is good as well but I would prefer it to not have carrot and broccoli. Overall, 3.5/5 for the food.
Today I ordered by phone Pineapple fried rice, the carrot is still so hard and there is no taste on the food. The lady who works there today misspelled my name even I have spelled it each letters for her ( well that is not a big deal). But when I went there for pick up, she looked grumpy, not even a smile or a thanks out from her mouth, nothing. ( the worst customer service ever!) . I wont order there anymore.
One of my favourite spots to eat on Lonsdale. It s a great value for very decent food. The portions are very big and there are lots of gluten free options.
A welcome addition to the rice plate-deficient North Van food scene. Modern space, efficient workflow, friendly staff, and so many choices! A casual dining kind of place. It s kinda cool hearing the wok go too. The spiciness levels seem to be the Southeast Asian kind of spicy, so if you don t usually eat spicy I might recommend level 1 or 0 (out of 10). I don t usually eat very spicy, and level 2 seemed a tad bit spicy for me.
I have ordered delivery twice now from rice and noodle any simply cant be the value. A curry and rice for $12. Terrific quality and criminally inexpensive
Spicy but very good
Great value, reliable and tasty neighborhood restaurants. I wouldn t say they are the best Thai food I ve had but they make consistently delicious food at a great price point. Service is always friendly and quick. My fav is the pad thai and pineapple fried rice. You can also customize heat level and I find Level 3 is usually good for me (mild with just slight heat).
Terrible location. Poor service. We went all the way from west van as we normally eat at the location on Robson and they are great. These people messed up the whole order and our order was completely wrong. We asked for extra noodle and no vegetables but instead we got no noodles in a laksa and packed with vegetables. Inedible!!!!! The quality was also terrible. Avoid this location. Not well run or organised and short staff is their excuse. Shocking
Dirty food constantly served here. Sometimes OKish, many times bad. Really bad. Today I chewed rotten black chicken bone in the middle of my chow mein. Followed by belly discomfort, and a nasty after taste in the mouth that doesnt go away... No similar options in the area (Central Lonsdale), but after today Im finally done with this place! Good bye Rice and Noodle Lonsdale!
so good it hurts
Walked into the restaurant at 8:30pm to place an order and the staff is cleaning the kitchen. The restaurant supposedly closes at 10pm. They told me my order was going to take 20 minutes because they were cleaning lol. The girls at the front counter didn t really care, and were more interested in gossiping than helping me. The food was bland, and not enough protein. Not going back. Lots of authentic places around here anyway.
No hygiene, no common sense! Lady who handles the food and counter smoking right in front of the restaurant door. If you take a chance ordering here, make sure you scan the food before start eating, as you may find something disgusting in the middle of it, as it happened to me and other people.
Very good place for those who love Thai cuisine.
Standing there for about 15 mins and no one even says hi or ho. Having a handful is an understandable circumstance but they just look at you without even signaling to hang on. Anyways, I ended up walking away due to uncertainty and not feeling welcomed.
Amazing food and nice staff, thanks
I often order takeout from here. This isn t haute cuisine and don t compare it to a proper dine-in restaurant . It s more like a street food stall in Asia The name and menu reflects that . a fusion of a Thai, Chinese, Malaysian. I ve tried their green curry and their chow main and they re both great .. large portions, cooked fresh, tasty and economical. (I often get two meals out of one order of chow Mein.) Their Pad Thai is just meh. These guys work hard and fast in a hot, cramped environment and probably at minimum wage. They re always efficient and smiling so go ahead and tip them. I d hate to see them raise prices or go under like so many restaurants since Covid.
I ordered chicken pad see ew and there was absolutely zero chicken. When I say zero I mean it I didn t find a single piece of chicken in the whole thing just noodles and vegetables for $14.68. I don t know if it s because I didn t tip or they just forgot which simply can t be the case.
They had one big man before as a chef and he is better cook. I ordered pineapple fried rice level 1 spice and that tasted good. Today They have changed the chef with a girl, I went to order the same plate and no taste at all, the rice is so pale and the carrots still hard. They just can not keep the quality. Too bad.
I love the kung pao, yum!
Great, fresh always. Parking: Street parking Food : 5/5 |
Went tonight around 6:20pm. Went up to the counter and got rudely and abruptly told they aren t taking orders . Clearly They were busy and overwhelmed. I ve been a fairly regular customer at this location, and can honestly say after how rude the employee was.. I will never return.
Mall quality food. Its OK, but nothing special. No difference at all between 1 and 8 on the spicy scale.
SHEESH! One of the best Laksa I ever tasted, just the right amount of spice for a spicy lover . Pad see ew is also good, not too oily nor sticky.. It tastes fresh and the vegetables are enough in each plate , unlike other restaurants. If you re getting an appetizer, gyoza is REAALLYY GOOD AND CRISPY! The crispy wrapper of the gyoza is really good, it s thicker than it s usual. The chicken satay is aight nothing special. Customer service is good, they smile and welcomes us when we came in. Our server explained about their food and asked about our allergies which is a high-quality plus for me. Visited Canada for the first time and ate here for the first time as well, this will surely be added on my list to visit again.
Food is bland and minimal actual ingredients with tons of rice to fill it out. Definetly notice a massive decrease in taste. Increased 20% price with a further decrease in actual food
I did not find more tasty Thai food in Vancouver. Its good
Ordered from this place about 5 times and have been impressed every time. Great food and value.
Very disappointed! Ordered for take out meal this week. Very small portions with all dishes. Green curry was burnt with distinct burnt odor and flavor. Chicken satay was dry and did not come with any peanut sauce. I ordered the $1.50 extra peanut sauce to only receive a very small container with about two tablespoons of some yellow orange sauce. Called to question the small size thinking maybe they had forgotten to put the sauce in, however the person on the phone had no real interest in my concerns. Would certainly not visit again.
Great food at an even better price. The spice level can be very hit and miss though.
Extremely quick service, great food, good portion for the price
Good food and nice staff but WHAT a waste of plastic, all Vegetables are pre packed and weighed. On every order they throw away 3 plastic bags. Every other restaurant bans all single plastic (straws, cups, lids) but not plastic bags here
Delicious, nutritious and a great value overall.
This place is pretty good! My hubby and I are vegan so they have this 1 option vegan hunan kung pao which is good! I m just a bit weary sometimes whether they use fresh and clean dishes so it doesn t mix with meat or fish by accident!
I used to like this place but I will no longer order food from here. I used Skip. Again (!) I am missing an item and now dont have enough food for dinner. Not only that, my red curry is half the amount of what it suppose to be. There is no way I can reasonably share this with my spouse. Pathetic. Dont order the peanut sauce. You get one table spoon in a very small container. The service has been deteriorating. I think they dont care anymore.
Ordered uber eats so can t comment on service but as far as food goes : The pad Thai was good but not incredible, the spring rolls were nasty. (Basically store bought and deep fried) . I also got the gyoza which were also deep fried and not good . Plus for gyoza sauce all I got was soy sauce. Wouldn t recommend . The prices were reasonable though
Im glad I found this place, fresh tasty food and great amount for a good price.Staff are polite, helpful and service is fast. I dont accept the low rating of this restaurant and will recommend to everyone! JUNE 04 2021 Today , on June /11/2021, I got Mongolian stirfry. I like the food but too much soy sauce makes it salty. The other one; Kung pao, was more delicious. Updating, August/5/2021 I had Tom yom soup today and it was delicious. I just took off one star because the ventilation system still doesnt work and even the main door is closed.
Fresh food, amazing flavours, excellent prices. Spice level and protein are selectable here so you can have it how you like. Many great options including delicious and filling soups. Staff are great as well.
Unfortunately, last night both my husband and I got sick after eating the mongolian beef. He didnt eat anything else throughout the day before this, so we can rule out other foods as the cause. Please be more careful with food handling. We absolutely loved this place before this experience. Sadly, we wont be ordering again. Hoping this can be a good training opportunity in food safety. Thanks
Delicious food! Loved it. And would definitely have it again.
Ive seen other reviewers complain that the food was burnt, and I had the same experience when our Pad See Ew came out with charred vegetables and a distinct burnt flavor throughout the entire meal. On the other hand, our cream curry was delicious, though it was too spicy even when we ordered 2/10 spicy level.
I got the coconut soup with chicken. The broth was delicious but the vegetables in the soup were not fresh. The mushrooms looked like they were on the verge of going bad and the broccoli was browning on the tips. They didnt ask to see a vaxx passport for dine in either, which was kind of concerning. Wont be eating here again.
My kids keep begging to go back!!! The pad Thai will blow your socks off. And the staff and chefs are all so lovely and kind.
Tried the pineapple fried rice as a taste tester...Im very picky about Asian dishes especially with amazing cooks in my family. But I was back the next day and bought 6 more dishes home. The fried rice was good and I dont even like pineapple cooked into my dishes and it tasted perfect. The rice didnt have a ton of sugary pineapple juice in it. It was savory and not soggy...spicy as requested. So very affordable and tasty good Asian food is what I would tell everyone I know and to check it out asap.
Pleasantly surprised by this place. Definitely coming back! Good value for money and portions size.
THE place for a quick, delicious, and affordable dinner. Great food and great team. Thank you guys.
Such a great little Thai restaurant. Perfect spiciness, Perfect seasoning and amazing taste. Loved it, would definitely be visiting again.
Ordered pad sew and got thin pho like noodles. Hello, if youre going to advertise thai dishes please do it properly. Also, not all noodles were cooked throughout. Paid $17 on uber eats, disappointment.
Yummy food, good portion size. Ordered to go. Got the green curry chicken n rice. Loved It!
Food was really good for its price. Staff were super polite and gave good recommendations.
These guys and especially the smaller woman. Absolutely horrible service... Especially being disabled, the woman was extremely rude
Everything I ordered was SO GOOD and excellent service!
great taste, great price, great portion
Amazing. Fast. Delicious. Parking is easy on 16th.
Delicious fresh meals at a good price. And really nice staff
What a hidden gem in North Vancouver. We had the Pad Tie and Cocoanut Soup. Outstanding, great flavor and 100% correct spice level as requested. Will 100% go back. Portions are excellent and do not forget the Gyozas. They are outstanding too.
I always order from here and really love it! Although the last couple times I have ordered green curry with a 2 out of 10 spice level and it is crazy spicy!? I would have thought it would be more mild at this level.
