Since 1986 winner of Best Thai and Best Asian. Thai House offers 100s if mild to spicy traditional Thai menu items to satisfy everyone’s tastebuds
I miss Singha which is Thai beer so much. Just 5bucks can bring me home😍 I got Larb and Yum woon sen with extra spicy and lime, it’s so Thai authentic foods! Jeff, the server has a wonderful service.
Great food and amazing staff, our server took great care in explaining the ingredients of the different dishes available for my vegetarian mom and was very warm and friendly - prices were also quite fair!
Great Thai food with authentic flavors and a nice variety of dishes to choose from. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. Service was good, though there’s always room for small improvements. Overall, a solid choice for anyone craving delicious Thai cuisine!
The taste was great. I ordered Pad Khee Mao noodles and the taste was as expected, spicy, salty, and sweet mixing together very well. This is the real Thai taste.
Great atmosphere off the water front and short walk away from the Quay. The food was cheaper for is due to exchange rate. It was good Thai food. We enjoyed the quiet, darker, moody environment.
Came in hungry late Saturday evening at 8pm. The service was great and ordered a Traditional Pad Thai for my son and a glass noodle soup (with pork) for myself. We also thought we'd share a duck lettuce wrap. Food was fantastic. The portions were substantial so we wound up taking a fair bit home. Can't recommend it enough!
The rice and noodles were the best; the sauce in the noodles was good. Also we really liked the shrimp cake and fish cake. Food tastes like Thailand, and we will definitely eat here again!👍🏼😋
I appreciate that they have a good lunch menu/deal. The spring roll is crispy and tasty relative to other Thai places. The red curry with beef was suggested, but the red curry didn’t have enough flavor and tasted too fatty and lacked that special touch. I had only two spoons and did not enjoy. The chicken cashew nut was good and was a generous portion and higher than usual number of cashew nuts. I appreciate they cut the cucumber Thai style in fried rice but didn’t try it so cannot comment (my friends order). In general I was happy with here. The curry was not was I was hoping for though and I hardly ate it/did not enjoy. The rest was good. In general one big drawback with this restaurant is that it is really dark and I never get a pleasant feeling walking in. I am very familiar with Thai food and the competition in Vancouver so 4 stars by me means it’s good. I’m considering taste and cost. The atmosphere is super super dark and would lower the score heavily if considered important. The personal experience I had was the service was good and thankfully they don’t charge or make a big deal for containers. Based on other reviews I would not try the pad Thai. Also I heard the owners are Chinese and thus not authentic but personally I have had Thai food that was really bad by Thai owners in Vancouver so that’s not what I consider.
Had Pad Thai, which was a heap of gooey noodles with lots of tomato paste and tasteless shrimp. It did not taste bad - it just tasted like nothing. Uhh According to the internet, that Pad Thai was the exact opposite of what it should be. Not recommended.
Really great lunch special. Flavours were bold and delish!! I m half Thai so trust me. Will be back :) thanks!
My family has come to this restaurant many times and always loved it; I went for the first time today and can attest to the good food, gret menu selection and fabulous service that we were given! Jeff, our server was super attentive, friendly and remembered my family members. The ambiance is very cozy and warm and elegant and I enjoyed my experience all around. A very nice place to come for delicious Thai food. I had the tom yom soup and salad roll and both were delicious!!
Ive been coming here since my childhood, but recently the service has become rather disappointing. Food-wise, nearly everything leans oddly sweet even dishes one would expect to be savoury. Presentation was also lacking, though the spices, like the green thai curry, were spot on; the pad thai had a strong, ketchup-like sweetness that surprisingly worked well too.
Food and drinks were delicious, the service was very good
This place is great, especially for lunch. I had the Thai green Curry which came with rice and a spring roll + small salad. The food was delicious, very flavourful. The spring roll was memorably good. I was surprised how crispy and tasty the spring roll was. The curry I got level 3 out of 4 spice and is was perfect. Would definitely recommend and Ill be back, definitely go for lunch if youre in the area.
Good food, good experience, respectful people
Good service and value! Pad thai was great!
Excellent, quick and accurate with our orders always.
This is the best thai food I ve ever had! Super good quality the flavour is absolutely amazing and the service was great
We got a yellow curry + fried noodle dish for take-away and unfortunately it wasn t good. The noodles were overbooked and there was simply flavor missing to it. The curry was okay but not good.
Ordered Green Curry. Waiter brought Yellow Curry. Waiter would not fix his error. It was good, but not what I ordered. So weird.
Amazing food for a reasonable price. Reasonably priced cocktails too!
The guy who runs this place (owner?) has a huge ego. Hes Mr. Right. I feel sorry for his spouse. As for the food. Overpriced and terrible like other reviewers said. Been waiting for this place to go out of business for years.
The food was okay. Not as good as we used to get at the Thai House in Richmond.
It is great that they have parking spots. The service is good. And their food is satisfying.
Awesome spring rolls
Ordered green beans with bell peppers, the container was only filled 1/3 for $16.95 with dried prawns. Very misleading!
Seriously, none of it tastes good
Good food and very friendly service. The darker atmosphere almost made me want to fall asleep after a long day haha.
Lunch special is a good deal and great portion wise. However, the meats in the main dishes were a little dry and tough. The applies on the other hand was excellent. Service was very good as well.
Amazing flavours !
Everything is delicious. The servers are very kind and the restaurants interior is absolutely amazing. I went here alone...most things I will do alone now that shes gone from my life. Cant stop eating that soup!!!
Super happy! I ordered the pork red curry with bell peppers, and basil; traditional pad thai with shrimp ; stuffed eggplant with shrimp. So yummy. Was a hit and ready ahead of on time. Very lovely and attentive and staff. Was impressed on a busy Easter weekend. Thank you.
Horrendous food quality. Pad Thai doused in ketchup-like sauce, veggies drowning in sugary syrup and arrived lukewarm. Never again.
Great portions, great service tasty, tasty, authentic and free parking!
The food was delicious - great flavour and big servings. Our server was very kind and attentive, this is a new favourite!
My plate was broken and chipped all around and they didnt seem to care about it! The food tasted like food court quality! My girlfriend barely ate and she got a stomach ache from the little amount she ate . They didnt do substitute either and were very strict with their set menu! We are vegan and asked for the veggie dish and side of noodles, they said no. Our food was supposed to have tofu but it literally had none! Very meh and underwhelming. Avoid.
First time in awhile trying Thai food but they made it a really pleasant one with a good dine for two deal. Will possibly visit again
So happy to go back to this restaurant and find the food is super super tasty again..mouth bursting with flavour will be back real soon
Always great. Curries and pad thais are tasty. Tom Yum soup a go-to as well.
Great and authentic flavours. Wonderful service.
What a fun night out. Our waiter was very entertaining. The dinner for four was piles of delicious food...hot too.
Ordered on DoorDash the red chicken curry. It was all peppers and no chicken. Just a 100 % $20 rip off. There is a pattern here. If you order or visit close to closing they dump you with rubbish. Be warned. Unlikely they read or care for reviews.
Were off to Thailand so we thought we would check out the Thai House and get a sampling of the food we will experience. It was really great. I like a little bit more spice. Than was prevalent but really enjoyed it. Very friendly staff and the service was very good..
Probably our most regular takeout on the north shore, food is consistently great and we regularly order a wide range from the menu. Pad Makuayaw, Panang, Eggplant Shrimp are all top drawer. Well be back again and again
This is a rare 1 star for me. Thai House Restaurant has past it s prime. Took my family here to eat and the restaurant is falling to bits, needs a major cleaning and declutter. Despite this, the my green curry was ok. After our first visit, we decided to order in. The pad thai was ketchup noodles, all the vegetable dishes were mostly cabbage, and we made our own rice to keep the bill below $100. Avoid for dine in and takeout.
Very Uncomfortable while I eat. I felt they want me to leave soon as finish. Food wasn t great as before. I have to find other Thai restaurants next time.
Very quick lunch service, highly attentive and the servers were friendly. I would highly recommend for a great value with an amazing menu selection.
Went almost two weeks ago. Was a really pleasant surprise as Im usually a bit fussy with Thai food. Service was great and food was even better. Took my wife and parents and everyone really enjoyed it. Its also a nicely decorated place. Looks good and great for enjoying a good meal.
Pretty good NA customized Thai food
Took my mom for lunch, they sat us way in the back of an empty restaurant with no lighting by a service counter. Pushy staff about ordering and when got our meals within seconds the food was bland, I ordered a peanut curry and literally tasted like I was eating peanut butter out of the jar. Pad Thai was very unappealing, rude service and definitely dont recommend and will never go back.
One of the best Thai restaurants in the town...
Ordered the Pad Thai which was basically spaghetti, ketchup and a few prawns. Disappointing flavor, a teaspoon of egg and two pieces of tofu?
I had a craving for thai food and this was the only available option that was open on the north shore. I ate here a couple years ago and I remember the food being awful. I decided to give it another chance. I ordered the pad thai, thinkin that would be difficult to mess up. Wow, it s the worst pad thai I ve ever had! Tastes way too sweet, almost like the main ingredient is ketchup. I don t know whats happened, this place has been open a long time. I remember the food being great 10 years ago. Very disappointed. Hopefully they higher a new head chef.
so oily
Said they close at 9 but the actually close whenever tf the want
Pad See was pretty good! The Pad Thai needs to be fixed, it s pretty bad. Tasted like I was eating rice noodles with Ketchup! Service was good.
One of our favourite restaurants, lovely staff and delicious food, we especially loved the lettuce wraps.
Nice food, good menu, solid price only downside is you cant get there brunch deal as takeaway
Hidden gem!
I went with group of friends and food was ok. We choose to pay separately and server called out loud whomever didnt give tip. Felt that like insulting in-front of friends and other customers. Not once he did it twice.
Food was always been good. The Thai curries have always been our favorite. Staff used to be a lot more friendlier in the past. When I commented the food was good , the response was OK. Parking: Free parking
We walked in on Easter Monday and at a good time. We had our orders taken promptly, the food is really spicy if you order SPICY with 4 Chilli icons. Be careful! other than that, we had a good night and enjoyed our dinner. Only feedback is the Tom yum soup was slightly different (more sweet) in comparison to other Thai restaurants Ive had Tom yum. Parking is challenging in NV, especially by the waterfront.
The lunch time Waiter needs a bit of an attitude adjustment. He came across rather smarmy, rude and made us feel like we were a chore or a nuisance a bit. The food is great, but dont question if we want to order extra rice along with our meal. Ridiculous behavior from this man.
Great Thai food! Solid service Nice Buddha statues Decent prices Food : 5/5 |
Its a reputable institution
Fantastic Thai food. Good service. Had the dinner for 4 so a bit of everything. Food
Great place to try new taste. Not really authentic and too sweet. Maybe good for western though.
Very large helping for Thai curry 18.95..tasty! Warm friendly staff
The food is too salty but that is not it. This restaurant is definitely not family-friendly! I would advise caution if youre planning to bring your child along. We visited this afternoon to grab some takeout, and right from the start, the waiter with glasses completely ignored us multiple times as he passed by in the waiting area. Finally, when he did approach us, I expected a warm greeting, but all he did was tell us not to park our balance bike on their patio, even though it was unoccupied and not causing any inconvenience to anyone. We informed him that we wanted to place a takeout order, and he curtly directed us to go straight to the counter. Okay, I got it, but a little more friendliness wouldnt hurt, you know? And then, another Cantonese speakingwaiter with a Curly hair showed up, sporting a strict and angry expression. He rudely asked my kid, Are you behaving? Excuse me? My child wasnt running around or being noisy; they were simply admiring the artwork in the restaurant. That was the last straw for me. I was about to speak up when he quickly said he was just kidding and walked away. Throughout our time there, there wasnt a single smile or any positive expression on his face. Instead, he just kept staring at us and watching the kids. Hey, maybe we came here to order some food, remember? Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The lack of hospitality and the inappropriate interaction with our children left a sour taste in our mouths. I definitely wont be returning, and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience with their famil
I had a great experience here, friendly/fast service and great food
Quick, tasty, no complaints.
Beef BBQ short ribs was so good! Loved their yellow curry and best of all, their dessert .. the black rice pudding is a MUST try. I have love this restaurant and have been coming here for several years now. Food quality is very high, consistent and prices are still competitive. Parking: Upper level parking and just register your plate at the counter. Free parking
Rushed us. No sense of customer service
Special seafood papaya salad was extremely skimpy. Maybe 3/4 of a cup of papaya, if lucky. Shrimp curry had four or five shrimp and a couple potatoes and carrots cut way too large. Yellow chicken curry had way too much chicken and barely any vegetables. The food was tasty but sparse. Tomorrow we will use the abundance of curry sauce to make a new dish. Thanks Trudeau. Your ridiculous carbon taxes have forced this restaurant into mediocrity. No one can afford fresh vegetables these days, even this restaurant.
The coconut rice taste watered down, so its time to remove thai house from my list of to go places. We even did a coconut rice taste test between Thai house and chad Thai (burnaby). The latter wins hands down.
Ordered for the second time in a week even though they messed up the order last time. Twice ordered coconut rice, paid for coconut rice, received plain rice. Tonight we ordered tamarind pad Thai, paid extra, no tamarind sauce, tasted bland AF. If I was 95 and wanted pad Thai from a buffet in Cuba made by Cubans who never tasted pad Thai. I m sure it would taste better than this! Absolutely horrible!
Ordered food here tonight and it was one of the worst Thai meals I ve ever had. the noodles were so over cooked that they were like mashed potatoes, the curry had decent flavour but had tough shredded green stuff in it that was inedible and had to be picked out. I wouldn t be as critical if it wasn t for the fact that it was way way overpriced for the quality. Very unsatisfying
Ordered pad see ew and green curry take away from Uber , worst quality ever , noodles are overly soggy , chicken is hard and dry, could not finish
Wont be coming back. Both the ambiance and food were disappointing. The interior felt cramped, with only half the tables occupied that evening. Insufficient ventilation made it hard to breathe, and the combination of an open kitchen and weak air conditioning led to uncomfortably high temperatures indoors. Ordered six items, and only the shrimp cakes were enjoyable. The chicken satay lacked flavor in the meat and relied solely on the peanut sauce. The TOM KAH Prawns coconut milk soup was excessively sour, almost unbearable. The green curry was average, nothing special. The Stir-fried tofu with pork was ordinary. However, the PAD SEE IW stir-fried noodles were extremely salty, more than double the normal saltiness had to send it back. Given the restaurants longevity and my repeated visits, its disappointing to see the consistent decline in quality. With so many other Thai restaurants to choose from, this place may not last much longer if they dont improve.
Food is really good!!! Service is really good, the only thing that I need they need to change is the lighting the restaurant is very dark (and we live in raincouver were most of the time is dark). And the food of thailand or the concept of thailand is really colorfull. But there are not more options in north van for thai food, so this is my fav thai food in the area.
This is my favourite Thai place. We couldnt decide which family style dush we liked more. Finally settled on yellow curry, then cashew pork stir fry. Oh, wow, delicious! The pad Thai and beef lettuce wraps were delicious too. If you havent visited this local gem, youve been missing out!
That was possibly the best green curry Ive ever had. Super friendly staff, too
Thai food at its best at this North Vancouver location.
Decent!
Where else can you have a consistent quality meal at a beautifully decorated restaurant for $11.50 in 2021? I have been ordering take away from here even BC (Before Covid). Never had a bad experience and fortunately had time and opportunity to dine in to take some pics to share. Service and food are hotelesque ...its unreasonably amazing!
Friendly service and excellent lunch.
I love Thai food and was excited for a New Year s Day meal. I ordered from Uber Eats and selected the Pad Thai with peanuts option. When it showed up it was terrible Western style Pad Thai made with tomato paste. It tasted like ketchup noodles. Not sure whose fault it is that this was not described properly. The green curry was pathetic for almost $20. Nearly no veggies and the eggplant wasn t cooked. So disappointing. Won t return.
This is the worst Pad Thai I have ever eaten. Tried it 5 years ago and thought maybe they have worked out how to open a bottle of pad thai sauce yet....but sadly no its still a mix of chinese food making an attempt at Thai food! Had to give a star to post this
Amazing Thai food, I recommend their short ribs and the tom yum soup . Clean and cozy atmosphere to meet with friends or family.
She said (our server) we arent getting a salad with are meal because of covid. We still had to pay full price for our lunch even though we didnt get the salad that comes with it. We couldnt get green curry with no peppers in it (the kitchen said no) we were told you just have to order the red curry. We will not good back and we have told our friends and family about this. (No salad because of covid...seriously!)
Great food, super fast, amazing service!
Well priced and excellent service.
Great taste, good quality and big portion. Highly recommended.
We called ahead and asked how long the lunch special was on for, we got there in time to only be told it wasnt on today... we were also the only people in the restaurant and I wish I never sat down to be honest. The joint is decorated well but feel like its all a front of house show as the food is the least Thai authentic I ever tasted, they didnt even provide chop sticks and gave us forks which was alarming to me. We then got the Brunch special which added is more expensive (than lunch) and they have no salad, some reason related to COVID didnt make sense to me but hey. I hate to give a bad review but also hate feeling like Ive been ripped off. The Jasmine rice was not sticky and tasted microwaved/uncooked. The Mixed Season Vegetables with Tofu and satay based sauced, was placid orange colored and did not taste anything like peanut, but tasted like it came from a pre-mixed store-bought jar. My Pad Bai was not spicy in the slightest and the Pad Thai starter didnt even have Pad Thai noodles nor a lime wedge. Seems petty, but to me this is not Thai food and seems the expenses on decor have made a significant detriment on the quality of the food.
The ambience and service was nice. The meal I ordered looked great, but the chicken was a bit tough. Overall an Okay experience.
Amazing food and even better drinks. Go With a crowd and enjoy a bunch of tasty share plates!
I have finally found my favourite North Shore Thai restaurant! I dont know what took me so long. I had a favourite Thai restaurant in my old neighbourhood in Vancouver, and nothing on the North Shore seemed to come close. Im guessing I didnt try this one before because of some of the negative reviews? Well this was a lesson for me to try for myself rather than be influenced by reviews! Last week a family member wanted to celebrate her birthday at the Thai House Restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic! Unfortunately I only managed to take one photo, of the Tom Kha soup, because I was so excited and enjoying the food so much I forgot to take more photos! We were a group of 6 and enjoyed trying several dishes that we shared. My personal favourites are the Traditional Pad Thai with tamarind sauce and tiger prawns, Tom Kha soup with prawns and Yellow Curry with chicken. If you are looking for vegetarian options the Yellow Curry with tofu and Mixed Seasonal Vegetables with Chiang Mai were also very good. We also enjoyed the Thai Satay Chicken, Spring Rolls and Cashew Chicken. I love that the Pad Thai has the thin rice noodles and that they offer it with tamarind sauce as an option and not just tomato sauce. All of the dishes with prawns had a generous serving of them. I loved the food so much I have been back for takeout twice in the last week! I cant get enough of the Tom Kha soup - the flavour is delectable! Parking behind the restaurant makes dine-in and takeout so easy in a busy area. Thank you Thai House! We will be back!
It s not as good as it used to be few years ago.
Pad Thai was my order, which was okay but not the best! My friends ordered their curries and they said it was delicious and good! We went their during the heat wave and the temperature inside the place was not cold (it was so hot inside) It would be great if they have better AC system inside the restaurant. The staff were friendly and so energetic! The place could be better!
I ordered Pad Thai takeout and it was gross. It didn t have any flavour and the noodles were in small bits and pieces, while others were stuck in clumps. I don t know why they would serve this to someone. So disappointing because I grew up eating at the location in Richmond.
Good food great service. Reasonable price. So nice to dine in again
Im a delivery driver for Skip. The guy with the salt & pepper hair is always a pain to deal with. Hate picking up from these guys.
We ordered a wonderful dinner from the Thai House restaurant for pickup. There were eight dishes in total, including spinach rice, regular rice, a seafood dish, tofu dishes, curry dishes etc. A very large variety of food. The entire family was very happy with the portion sizes, the price, and the quality and taste of the food. An excellent experience, and we will definitely be ordering from the Thai House restaurant again.
Disappointing. Barely and chicken in my curry to go. Not even enough for my two little kids and the wife an I. Curry was so spicy without asking. Wouldn t add potatoes to the curry anymore. Lettuce wrap beef was dry too. $84 .wasted.
Great service and decent Thai food. The taste is more sweet than spicy. If you like sweet Thai food, this is the place to go.
Horrible prepaid food. You are better off buying some microwaveable frozen food
Quite a nice Thai restaurant. Reasonable prices for the portions (which are adequate), good taste, and a very nicely decorated restaurant with a lot of Buddhist and Thai decor. It appears that some employees are of Thai descent too.
Delicious! We had the Dinner for Two.
Ketchup pad thai. Save yourself from this experience, go somewhere else.
My family and I had the combo for 6 , it was alright. I enjoyed the drinks and the appetizers. However, the food didnt taste like authentic Thai food. The dishes were too sweet or salty. Where were the spices?? The pad thai was awfully sweet and tasted like ketchup. The red curry chicken was good, but the chicken was too tough and dry in my opinion. I felt bad for coming a few minutes before closing, but staff was very friendly
When ever Im on the northshore, I go and grab some thai. The house is friendly, you can relax. The food is great.
Quick service, consistently good food and well priced. Always leftovers to take home.
Good food, staff was great. We caught that the machine tip based our tip on the extra we paid on top of the gift card. Gave them an additional tip and they even said we didnt have to.
Food was ok. Hubby agrees with the other reviews of the pad thai being super sweet and tastes like ketchup. The pinapple fried rice was good. The place has no ac and was unbearably hot. When it came time to pay the bill was 37$ we had a 50$ gift card in which the server took it as we were leaving a huge tip. She went to cleaning another section and hubby wasn t bothered to chase her down. But not what we wanted to pay. Would not come back.
NOT VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY AT ALL. And almost half of the menu wasn t available, everything tasted bland and not very good. Almost all the dishes have fish sauce and oyster sauce. I don t recommend it.
Have always loved the food here and the owner Jeff is such an awesome guy..I highly recommend this restaurant
It doesn t taste like authentic Thai food. The tofu in both dishes was rubbery and chewy. The best I can say is that it was OK (and that s being nice.). It was much better years ago. I don t think I would order from them again.
Takeout via ubereats Portions were adequate for price. Pad Thai was below average (too sweet and slightly gummy). Tom Kha Gai was very mushroom-forward. But Red curry was excellent. Food delivered hot. Total for two about $55
Food was ridiculously spicy. (We were not asked spice level). 2 waitresses asked how the food was, informed both of them the fried rice is extremely spicy. They both said oh and walked off. Why ask if our feedback doesn t matter? I ended up ordering a side of plain rice to mix it with. Besides that the other dish was amazing. Advice: don t ask how the food is if nothing is going to be done about it :)
Absolutely delicious!
I feel like the restaurant doesn t need customers
Went there for the first time and was so disappointed with the experience. The servers were unhelpful and unfriendly. The Pad Thai was so unauthentic it tasted like they soaked the noodles in watered down no-name ketchup overnight then dumped a cup of sugar before serving it to the customers. Plenty of rooftop parking tho so it was convenient. I just won t order the pad thai if I visit them again.
Excellent service, very tasty food, fast, very nice place. To me, a good spot if youre in North Vancouver.
i have been eating here for almost 20 years. it is by far the best thai food in vancouver. i highly recommend this place! 5 stars
This place is consistently amazing!! Best Thai food hands down in North Vancouver. And they have delivery drivers, old school! Thanks for the delicious food team. If you love Thai this is the spot and it always shows up hot!
Very good service, excellent service they great as yiy come in the door
Just order the dinner for two at any time you need some great comfort food. It includes an appetizer and dessert...what more could you want?
Best Thai food in Vancouver and the North Shore!
Nice place good food well priced fast an courteous
Best Thai food ! I would recommend the dinner for two , the server always remembers us , he always says how nice it is to see us again , we are from out of town and make a point of going there when we are in Vancouver
Appalling. My whole family got food poisoning here including my babies. I cant even describe how horrible this was to endure all night long with nothing I could do to comfort them. The manager was indifferent and rude and actually accused us of lying; his excuse was he never heard about anyone else getting sick that night so therefor it must be untrue!! Dont waste your time and dont risk it. ***Edited to add we were actually long time frequent customers, but now after this experience we will never go back again. Theyve lost our business forever!**
Kid-friendliness: Child friendly Food
Awful. Chicken so hard and dry, shoe leather is more tender. I almost suspect, I received yesterdays overcooked chicken that they decided to cook some more. Chicken in my Tom Kah, so dry i had the broth and everything else I ordered, straight into the garbage. Just an awful experience for delivery. Toughest, dryest hardest chicken ive ever been served.
Very good food and service
If youre thinking Thai food you cant go wrong with the Thai House restaurant. Enjoy getting some spicy dishes here. I always try to make it for the lunch special however.
I dont usually review restaurants, but wow the Thai food is bad (curry has basically is watery sauce for example) dont want yall to get get ripped off
The food is great, but the cutlery could use an upgrade.
The food is delicious.
Dropped by Thai House for dinner on a Monday night, it peaked our interest as many other restaurants were closed around the area. Atmosphere - a lot of decorations and interesting wood work inside the restaurant. They ve a wall lined with booths as well as a private room. One thing I think can be improved is putting padding/cushioning on the back of the booth seats as well lowering the height of the table. Some walls can also use a fresh coat of paint. I do love the big vase at the entrance though. Some plates can also be replaced as there were multiple chips on them. Food - we ordered the combination for 2. It was $53. The set came with 2 chicken satay skewers, 2 noodle wrapped shrimp, a chicken curry with coconut rice, and prawn stir fry with beans and bell peppers. Finally dessert is mango ice cream. Overall I think the value is similar as ordering à la carte. The chicken satay were tender, very good. The noodle shrimp on the other hand, you can taste the lye water used to make the noodles. The curry was flavourful, the chicken was a bit tough, but not bad. The prawn and bean stir fry was the better dish. Really nice flavour and the vegetables were still crispy. One thing I didn t get was coconut milk/flavour from the rice. It tastes and smells just like regular jasmine rice cooked with water. Service - due to covid, there were only 2-3 tables when we arrived. They didn t have a host at the entrance, but I think it s to reduce staffing cost. There was really only one server who did everything from serving to taking orders over the phone. That being said, our server that night was prompt and friendly.
huge portions
Excellent Thai food
Amazing Food & Bellini s!
Ordered the Pad Thai (traditional with shrimp, not Tiger shrimp). It was ok. The noodles were well coated in sauce and the sauce tasted adequate for take out, but there was not a lot of green onion, egg or bean sprouts.
Picked up an order over $100. The curries were good but Pad Thai was tasted like noodles with ketchup on it nothing else in it, fried rice was white sticky rice with 3 pieces of veggies. There was no plain rice included in my order that I ordered and paid for, terrible overall, I would give zero stars, total rip off!!!! Go elsewhere!!!
Run of the mill westernized Thai food. It s not blowing anyone out of the water but it s definitely decent. I just think it could use more flavour and some more spice
The fish cakes were tasty. Together with a small bowl of rice made was enough for a small meal.
There is no better place for Thai food in Vancouver. Nice ambience, good service, great custom cocktails, and a superb menu of weekday lunch specials.
Best Thai food ever, number 1
The food is OK but its not... Thai food? The Pad Thai tastes like its a weak tomato sauce on linguine. Tomato???? Its legitimately gross. The curries are good but have a very strong flavor profile that to me is more Chinese, although I cant identify it. Some of the dishes are fabulous. The lettuce wraps for instance, and the spicy chicken thighs. The issue is that the dishes that are very core to Thai cooking - Pad Thai, Tom Yum Gai - are really not good.
The food here is excellent! The manager who served us our food was absolutely perfect! He was friendly attentive make sure we had everything. Great experience.
Tom kah gai...they make it best. Red curry pork. All very good. We return!
Excellent !!!! Great food
Came here during the heat wave. Overall mildly disappointed with the food (pad thai tasted like ketchup, red curry was very bland) , but very disappointed with the service . We were paid no attention by the wait staff. Despite being parched, we waited a long time after seated before even being given water (we asked for ice water and got lukewarm water). No one checked in on us to see how we were doing. The overhead lights over our table were broken and the brightness changed constantly throughout the meal which was irritating. I appreciate the staff working hard during the heatwave but I definitely expected better.
Service was not that great. Chicken was hard and rubbery, tasted funny - wont be returning here again.
If Im in North Van this is my go-to Thai spots. Its the only one that delivers the best if you are in North Vancouver. From other reviews, people have complained about the Pad-Thai. There are 2 pad-thai dishes on the menu, get the traditional one, not the newer version of it. The Thai Satay is delicious (the beef is the best one in my opinion). Pricey but overall food is good.
I lived in Bangkok for 15 years. The dishes Ive had here are really close. This was my first time eating in the restaurant, having only ordered in before. The inside is really nice. The service was very good, and the lunch deal sets are a very good value. Not the 60 baht on the street carts Im used to, but a good deal for Canada.
Normally we order from here for pick up or Door Dash. The food is always good. For a birthday celebration we ordered food for a scheduled pick up and had to wait over 35 minutes as DoorDash & Skip the Dish drivers were given their orders ahead of us, so we were late with dinner and everyone was waiting on us. We ve ordered from here repeatedly and this was really disappointing service.
Such Awful taste. Im not usually picky, but the food was really terrible. Especially the pad thai. I literally had to just select the shrimp and throw the noodles in the trash.
I m sorry but this is one of the worst pad thai s I ve ever had. The sauce tasted like ketchup mixed with franks hot sauce. I ve ordered from this place twice to give it a second chance and it did not improve. If you re looking for pad Thai specifically, look somewhere else!
Absolutely delicious! Was such a gem to come here
Been to a few Thai restaurants but never to one that uses old,(not fresh), chicken and beef. Chicken tasted like days old roast chicken in the cashew chicken. Beef was thin shaved pieces precooked and old. However, the prawns were fresh. Taste was very good for all dishes. The tom yum was very good but lacking in lemongrass. Dont think I will visit again.
The food was not the freshest it seemed like left overs we left not feeling good for $35 we would rather go to White Spot
The google account says open until 10pm but they were closed at 9pm.
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! If I could give this place a zero star review I would. The worst Pad Thai I have ever had! The noodles were dry and stuck together. It was made of ketchup and spicy?? Seriously? My kids wouldn t touch it. This made for a wonderful evening trying to convince my children to eat garbage. They ve had great Pad Thai before, and even they knew this sucked. Also, they don t devein/ de-poop the shrimp. Nasty. The roti was dry, flaky and oily. Basically old roti saturated in oil. Same with the spring rolls. Grab your bounty paper towel because I could have oiled my entire body with it. The curry was ok. Super watery. The chicken satay was dry and way overcooked. Hated it.
Really good
The food is incredible there. Had a fantastic chicken rice plate there. Service was also great. One of the better Thai places Ive been to. Definitely recommended.
The food is too average for a fine dining experience but could be great if youre not good with spicy food. Its for sure an okay starter. But too mild and watered down for Asians taste buds. Service is average as well. If you want something close to authentic Thai food, there are better options in town.
I do not know what this is...But it is not Pad Thai. It was incredibly dry and tasted vaguely moldy (especially the snap peas). The Tom Kha taste like it was made with powder season packet, and is missing ingredients. The chicken was very dry.. Does not compare to anything Ive had in Thailand and I would not recommend under any circumstance.
First time here but it was pretty good. Nice taste and different offering. Servings are of good size.
Went for weekend brunch was not worth it they did Served pad Thai was cold and very blend my chicken With cashews also very blend I would not go there again prefer rice and noodles on lonsdale good food and reasonable
Horrendous service trying to get a table in an empty restaurant at lunch time. I was a regular here whenever I wanted Thai Food... not anymore, I will not be back. There are so many restaurants to choose from in this area and I will spend my money in restaurants where they appreciate customers.
Great food!!
Service was mediocre at best. Waited at the table for 10 minutes before even waters were brought over. Finished my meal before the server came over to quality check. I had to ask for a water refill. Nobody was in the restaurant! Pad Thai tastes like they poured ketchup into the sauce pan and thinned with water and sweet and sour sauce. I ve never and hope to never taste a ketchup based Pad Thai again. That said the Green Curry was good. We waited again for 10 minutes to pay.
Great value for their lunch special
Great food and amazing service. Will likely eat here again!
Good lunch special and a really nice place to sit inside! The taste of my green curry was quite authentic and very flavorful. Food came quickly and it was an elegant but affordable lunch. Not the biggest portions, but very filling.
Worst tasting pad Thai I have ever had in my life. Didn t even taste like pad Thai. Tasted old and mouldy with gross dry sauce.. Was thrown into the delivery box like it didn t matter.
Reasonable price, convenient location.
Comming to this restaurant for 10 years, probably once a month in average. Never been disappointed! And we have been in South Thailand for about 4 months, eating in local restaurants there; we know Thai food.
This restaurant made the worst Thai food I have ever had in Vancouver. I ordered food here for pick up. Weird rice noodle, not pad Thai noodle. Tasted sour and plain. The menu says it comes with tofu and eggs but I hardly saw any in my order. Thai ice tea came in a soup container. This is my first but also my last. Will not recommend this restaurant.
Very good restaurant with friendly staff. Prices are very affordable
Yummy soups
Decided to go for lunch as have not been there for a while. Ordered the lunch special of which is to come with spring roll, salad and rice. I asked for the spinach rice for an extra 1.25. We got the rolls first and waited for the entree. My husband got his first and I waited close to another 8 minutes be fore I got mine. I asked for the salad, but they do not serve the salad. Weird as it was on the menu and all other restaurants serve salad?? My meal was the worst, the rice tasted like grass and chicken was dry with little sauce and no flavour on the bed of spinach. No deduction on the bill, no apology etc. Service is slow. Save your money and support a restaurant who really cares about the customer and their food
Very good Thai food and service:)
For my auntys birthday we ate here as a table of five and ordered the combo for 6 people. It was a ton of food, paced out for you to enjoy and all super delicious. Quite accomodating and we left stuffed silly, with smiles on our faces. The environment, lighting, and restaurant as a whole is perfect for a dinner party and I feel was worth every penny! You have to try this place!
Great place for cheap, plentiful, and delicious Thai food. Their weekend brunch menu is what you should aim for. Calm atmosphere as well and conveniently located right next to the Lonsdale Quay.
Found a rigid strip of metal in my delivery of veggie fried rice. I called to let them know and they didnt seem particularly concerned. I wasnt even looking for a refund, just to let them know, because I have worked in kitchens before, and even in a fairly cheap place like this, we would have been horrified to hear such a thing.
Good food & awesome services for the last 20 years
Never even knew about this place! Came across this while strolling around. Delicious food that came out in a timely manner! Nice service as well. Would definitely come back if in the area again.
Been coming here with my family for 16 years, and love it. The staff is friendly, food is tasty, price is reasonable and there are modifications the team makes for my celiac family member.
Common taste.
Had the curry duck, so yummy!
Quick food service. Staff isnt pleasant but not a big deal. Miss the Richmond location.
Excellent place
Great food, environment and price
Great food, fast service, and decent price
