Their avocado toast is amazing. Its pricey but its so flavourful, has amazing texture and is beautifully presented. Latte was decent and almond bread was ok-ish. Well be back for the toast.

I was at Bayview Village and was looking for a nice lunch, (European type), as sampled all kind of other cuisines before and wanted something new. I ordered a turkey breast with brie sandwich on a multigrain bread, a leek and potato soup and a pop. I was impressed with the soup, it was creamy, tasty and very delicious. Exactly what you would expect to experience from this place, that is in business for almost 54 years. I rate businesses on their performance and this bakery delivered, at the level and quality I expected and thought it would be. 5* all the way, try it and you wont be disappointed!

I like their soups! Healthy, fresh, and made daily (sometimes its a bit salty). Also, the grilled veggie panini, smoked salmon avocado toast, and the breakfast omelet set are pretty good.

The worst place ever. We asked substitution bacon with turkey. They refused to do it. When we asked if they want to make a business. The answer was WE DON T.

The most incredible desserts Ive seen on this side of the Atlantic, and delicious too. The service is excellent with very friendly staff and the coffee is superb. I can only assume the Tea is as well. Most of the seating is in the Bayview Mall hall, which means traffic going past constantly. If you are lucky you can get some of the seating inside, where the ambiance is much better. One more plus is the food menu. I chose the Tuna Melt which came on very tasty, healthy (Not white) bread. Truly, I loved this place. If not for the mall seats it would have rated a five.

We had breakfast her 3 times, and once there for coffee and pastry in the evening. Overall, average customer service. slow in making orders ready and when the order is ready, they are not able to make the order of one table at the same time. Also the direction signs for how to start ordering is very poor. 2023 review: I asked the cashier lady if I can add scrambled eggs instead of poached to avocado breakfast. She said no. This is when they have a classic sandwich with scrambled. My question how hard it is to replace one kind of egg with another style???!!! Clearly the lady doesnt not have the ability to think and provide a good service. Such a shame!

I ordered a cake and was handed a frozen cake. I thought they will get me the freshly baked one. They charge $1 extra to give you a pre written happy birthday message on a white chocolate sheet. One Reginald sized cake is for $56, expensive. I would rather go to metro and get an amazing cake ( freshly baked )

Friendly service. Pastries and drinks are good. They have a lot of nice seating. Gelato and cake options too. Their soup is quite good too!

I have been coming to Bread and Roses for 10 years now. There are many things I love about this place but one that stands above all are the people. They are some of the kindest people I know. You can see how genuine they are and how much they care about the food they make and serve. That says it all for me. Thank you!

I been to bread and roses before. And I always get the salmon bagel Sandwich. Which is so good. I ordered turkey sandwhich and they put a little bit of turkey , zucchini and no pickles. It was horrible I didn t eat it at all. But I had two chocolate coconut macaroons which is so good.

Bad experience

My go to place in this mall for coffee and lunch. They use Illy coffee which is excellent and their prices are reasonable for the mall it s in. Appreciate the loyalty card and not being pressured into tipping like so many other establishments now. Their avocado toast is the best hands down so delicious as is their French toast. Just wish it opened earlier than mall hours like some other of the coffee place in the mall.

They literally lack some basic of client orientation. You may stand there for minutes before being asked for your order or to get you engage in an initial greetings. Not sure how the owner makes money

Good breakfast spot to dine in or takeout. I got the avocado toast with a poached egg to go. It was fresh and tasty. Pastries are also fresh and delicious.

The croissants are good - my go to is the honey twist. The chocolate chip cookie is good too. Not a fan of the illy coffee; however, the cappuccino is ok. They also serve gelato, cakes and sandwiches. This place is always busy at lunch time. With the limited selection, this is probably the best pastry place in the mall.

We ordered some ice cream and coffee. As our ice cream was melting we tried to sit on one of the tables on the left side which were available with chairs as the common area tables were all full. They said we cant sit there since they are closing 30 minutes later. Also they said the tables for the people waiting for their order During our purchase staff were not friendly at all. They were even more rude when telling us we cant use those red tables when we attempted. First of all you need to tell us we cant use those tables before making the sale. Secondly if you are closing and dont want your customers to sit there, you need to at least remove the chairs so we could guess we may not be able to use those tables. Your workers are rude and dont know how to communicate with the customers. If you are working at a cafe, need to learn some basic communication skills. At least put a little smile for the customers. No wonder so many others already complained about how the workers dont know how to be nice. Never again!!

Best pastries, gelato, and soups! Great prices on the cookies for the quality! They paired up with a local bakery for their pastries and its amazing! The soups are all good and so are their breakfasts. The gelato tastes amazing too! Only thing is that the cookies and pastries are soooo good and soooo popular they always run out by 5pm!! And you need to come early if youre doing lunch or breakfast cuz theres always a line and they will run out of what you want!!! This place is very cute and popular and the food is amazing so you can expect it to be busy and have a line. Despite it being busy, I never had a bad experience cuz I get there before the lines appear Also this cafe is the best of the 3 cafes at Bayview Village!

This cafe sells quick bites- Sandwiches, Soups, Quiche, Croissants as well as Gelato, Cookies and Cakes. The latter of which is usually quite good but the credit goes to Rahier Patisserie, the supplier. The Positives: Service is Fast They offer a Variety of Items: -They carry an assortment of Macarons - Pistachio, Vanilla, Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Cassis, Strawberry, Lemon. -The Chocolate Covered Coconut Macaroons arent bad, and go nicely with a coffee. -The Coffee is okay, they do offer your typical cafe beverages along with bottled sodas, water, juices. The Negative: My main problem is the savoury items (sandwiches, wraps etc.) and their prices. The quantity is awfully petite, and the prices are not fair for what you get offered. If you visit this location, stick with Dessert or a Croissant.

My grandmother introduced me to this cafe at Bayview Village and I m really happy she did. They have Really good breakfast options with fresh coffee and a variety of flavour shots. I ordered the full breakfast option with eggs, bacon, potatoes, coffee and salad and was totally satisfied and happy with the portion size as well as the price. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. There is ample seating options both within the cafe and in the mall area directly across. They also have outdoor seating available if you re up to it and if the weather complies.

I find the staff is very friendly. The food is always fresh. It is hard to find a table there due to the fact that place is very popular. You must try to come in and enjoy the atmosphere and the food they serve. It is usually a light lunch and the soup they make tastes like homemade. Enjoy your visit there.

Contrary to my previous visits this one was not a pleasant one. I ordered my favorite Viennese cappuccino and got a latte instead with whipped cream in a cup to go. The proportion is important. Otherwise it is as if I ordered American coffee. One thing I hate the most is for coffee places to not know how to make good coffee. When I got up to try to explain to the girl behind the counter, she wouldnt listen and instead focused on my mask when we are standing more than 2 feet apart and she is behind the glass. Sure, you can tell me about my mask, but not before you tried to help me. So, no excuse, no offer for anything, just lecture on safety! Thanks, I wont be returning.

Ordered 3 Americanos around 1pm on a Saturday. The coffee tasted bitter and it was burnt. Even after making a triple milk and sugar, you could taste the bitterness. I went to the clerk and told her about the situation, she dismissed me, saying that nobody has complained about the coffee. Basically telling me that Im wrong. $10 for 3 cups is steep given the variety of options nearby. Id at least expect a better customer service but that seems exclusive to Asian folks at this establishment

Not a big deal, not a special coffee or any signature menu. Staff do not behave friendly. We wanted to sit in the patio, nobody even took care of us. Quality and service are not worth the price.

Excellent coffee, friendly staff. Love their maple latte with Viennese cheesecake. Its a little pricey, but coffee is always fresh and all the cakes are delicious for ppl dont have a huge sweet tooth. They also offer breakfast and light lunch.

Bread & Roses is a wonderful coffee shop!! There coffee was fresh, food was tasty and the owner slipped me an extra cookie because the one he put in the bag broke. Customer service is truly on point! I look forward to coming again!

I absolutely love their breakfast options especially the egg Benedict - huge portions and varied. But I am taking off two stars for the service and attitude of some their servers - who are either arrogant and/or ignorant - they make me feel like I am a begging burden.

This busy neighbourhood Cafe and bakery always has wonderful soup, quiche and sandwiches. The pastries are fantastic. It is a great spot to meet a friend for a casual lunch.

Unpleasent experience! Was more than 25 dollors for two latte and two napoleons. Had to change my wifes latte twice. Once because it was cold and second because the cup was not cleaned properly. Not comming back and do not recommend.

This afternoon my husband and I had an awful experience at Bread & Roses Bakery Cafe. I ordered a cafe latte, I received that cold I told the staff. However, instead of exchanging the cafe latte, she tried to reheat it on the microwave!!!! I got shocked.... If I wanted an old reheat latte I didn t come to a Bakery Cafe. Moreover, the cup was dirty!!! I could not bring myself to drink it.....

I ordered a cup of americano and they used an already-brewed espresso to make it. On top of it, I doubt they change the beans because it was tasteless (basically black water). When asked to remake it the staff was unfriendly and reluctant to do it. I give two stars because their shaved ice dessert is nice.

We came on a weekday for crepes and they told us they only serve them on weekends (even though it is on the regular menu). So we returned on the weekend at 4 pm and we were told they only serve them until 3 pm. Too annoyed to ever go back.

Terrible service and unprofessional staff. They gave me burnt coffee and when I asked for americano they made a leftover coffee mixed with water and sold it to me as an Americano . Took forever, kept trying to check in see if they remembered my order. After my 3rd check in they discover they forgot my meal. All my guests ate lunch then my food was ready. Would of been nice if they listened to me when I checked.

Beautiful cake and cookies!

Had one of the best brunch dishes in recent memory here, french toast (probably the best french toast Ive ever had) with decent potato latke with turkey slices and fresh fruits. Also had an apple tart which was good. I would have paid what I did for the french toast meal (15 dollars ish) but 7 bucks for the tart was not worth it. Only been here once so the review might be with a narrow vision (didnt have coffee or any drinks). It is true that the workers are not great, no smile or anything.

Disappointing panini and not good service I come here often because of the location. They serve illy coffee here, which is good, though I hope it can be stronger. I usually order their danish and tarts, which are good but I know that they got those from a local bakery. The soup and salads are fine, even the bagels with different toppings are fine. However, just ordered the panini with prosciutto and bonocini today and i was super disappointed. At ordering, as I wanted to choose brown bread, the server told me that its pre-made. Fine. When the panini was ready, I realized that they meant that the whole sandwich was prepacked and reheated. The prosciutto was laid flat, fully cooked, meshing up with the melted bonocini, pesto, over-cooked tomatoes and oil-soaked spinach inside the two slices of not-so-crunchy toast! It had costed me $7.75 + tax. But the sandwich putting in front of me could have been bought from any food stop at a train station or airport for less. Disappointed. I mean, they have a full kitchen on site and its not so hard/time-consuming to make a panini, right? I talked to the only male staff there, who appeared to be more customer-centred and friendly than other servers (who, by the way, are quite snobby and rude at times), and he seems to know about food a bit more than the other younger servers. He listened and apologized and promised to take my advice to the owner. I didnt accept the offer to switch for anything because I was hungry and didnt want to waste food. So I finished it anyhow while keeping myself a mental note that do not order panini here again! I may go there again because of the location but I would certainly stay away from their panini and anything said to be pre-made.
