788 Wilson Ave #760, North York, ON M3K 1E4, Canada
Restaurant and bakery, import Chilean products.
This place isn't the greatest! Expired food which they erased the expiry date on each of the items, extremely dusty around the store and not the freshest food. I have seen many times flies inside the glass going on top of the pastries and empanadas. I have even brought a empanada one time with a huge hair inside due to them making it without gloves and I doubt it with hair covers. I personally do not recommend this place. Do research and fine a better place for your latin american especially Chilean foods.
Went in and it took me 10 minutes to get out, all because the owner kept talking to his other customers who came in after me and was taking their orders while I was almost BEGGING him to cash mine, wasting my time (again 10 mins for one single alfajor) and even replied with a rude tone. 0/10, no reason to come in here.
Let's start with, I was born in Chile, and I needed to go to the chilean consulate in Toronto. After I was done with that, I really wanted to stop by La Rosa Chilena, I ordered lots of breads, pastries, chilean sodas, and other products like arroyados, etc. I ordered ahead of time, and you can say they had 5 different orders for my kids and brothers. They had everything ready to go, separately packed, but I was able to confirm the order. Great moment when my American wife and son started to look around and wanted to order enpanadas and drinks. The service was awesome, the breads were delicious, and the arroyados were out of this world. I'll be going back in September, and I'll be making another big order (spend over $500 US dollars, but it was worth it every penny).
Subpar compared to the Empanada factory, not true Chilean food. Just a bunch of overpriced imported knock offs, cheese empanada had no cheese in them, $16.50 for a chocolate bar when you can get them for $8 at the other Chilean empanada store. The guy who works there has a problem with Canadians and does nothing but complain.
Small, dark and stuffy store. Be alert - very angry people own the place and work here, avoid it, there are much friendlier Chilean bakeries with fresh food...besides it's empty anyway, likely food is too pricey and not fresh
Authentic service. Vast selection of Chilean imported products at their bakery. Tried the cheese empanadas y eran excelentes!!!! Hasta luego!
Great owners! Accidentally went to the bakery a few doors down and the husband directed me to the restaurant. I had the cazuela (beef rib soup) and it's a great homemade meal. The beef empanada with the salsa and mayo were also splendid. The pricing is a bit heavy. $15 for the cazuela with hallula which is why my rating is 4 stars. I spent $22 for cazuela, beef empanada, and bottled water(?). Cheers to them for the great hospitality. Next time I'll get the hotdog and sandwiches! Maybe some dessert too haha
Quaint little restaurant. Home-made, delicious foods, takes me right back to Chile. Great customer service, friendly family-run restaraunt. I have been coming here for over 20 years. We travel from out of town and have no need to go anywhere else. I always order the Bistec a lo pobre. Delicioso!
Disgusted with the lack of humanity and cuatomer service.
We have a great time eating g there with my nephew, a great Churrasco when we saw a Soccer game .thanks
EVERYTHING REALLY GOOD!! The mille-leaf cake is by far the best, equal to the chili and fresh one. Greetings to Mrs. Gloria who accompanied me with a good conversation
Try to contact via internet, Via telephone, via Facebook but the response level is NULL. It would be appreciated if they improved that
Dirty
I am so appalled by this place. The cheese empanadas didn t even have any cheese in it . I was very pis sed off when I got to my destination . DO NOT buy from this place, stay away. The positive reviews are very misleading .
Amazing Chilean food!! 100% returning
Está sucio y feo its so dirty, what the heck. Look at their Yelp reviews its like 2 stars, whats with the huge discrepancy with google being 4, whats going on...sketchy
This place has a bad atmosphere, rude owners and TERRIBLE food. The pan is old, My kem piña was flat, terrible empanadas. Overall 0/10
Best Beef Empanada
Really very very bad food and attention much to be desired I would never return disgusting!!!
Kid-friendliness: I bought pineapple ice cream for my children and it came full of pieces of plastic, they almost broke their throats, they are children of 5 and 2 years old!!! dont buy there
Great place to get the most delicious pastry , bread and many other things. Prices are reasonable, and everything is delicious and fresh.
It was my first time to eat Chilean food and every bite that I took brings me to heaven. I will def come in here again to try every menus they have!
We drove 2 hours just to go to this restaurant. Unfortunately it was closing at 7pm. But the bakery thats owned by the same family a few doors down was still open and OH MY. The pastries are TO DIE FOR!!! The worker behind the cash was so incredibly friendly!! And amazing prices!
Best empanadas! Little bakery with Chilean products.
Its a nice place, it feel like a small Chilean eatery. The food is subpart though. The empanadas and the completo were ok, but the pastel the choclo was awful.
The food was excellent ! Gracias. Fresh like homemade. Delicious.
Very authentic Chilean food and casual restaurant experience. Note there are two businesses a few doors down from each other in the same plaza, one is the restaurant and the other bakery/small grocery. My Chilean husband enjoyed the beef churasco sandwich and completo hot dog (tasted like home for him), I had the beef empanada. Friendly service and several Chilean families eating in. Chilean soccer playing on the TV. Facilities could use a bit of a refresh/update, but its all part of the charm!
It is important to say that it is only open 2 days a week.
The pastry was not fresh. The bakery seems unclean and over priced.
Incorrect hours posted on Google and on door.
The empanadas are expensive and disgusting! I would never buy them again or recommend them to anyone.
My family bought me a thousand-leaf cake from Chile, I received it in my apartment on my birthday, a pleasant surprise and exquisite cake, it shows that it was made with a lot of love.
Marvelous!!! Typical Chilean store, it was like traveling back to my country for a little while. Everything is very delicious!!
This review is based on solely the bakery. The bakery is pretty jam packed with products, which leaves much to be desired when seeking a professional environment and cleanliness. However, with that comes many products from Chile that will give you constant flashbacks. They take credit which is not expected from such an antiquated shop. The prices are not outrageous but also not a bargain. The empanadas are a decent size at 3.95$, however the taste does not live up to the price. You are better off heading to La Plaza Latina for better empanadas with free aji Overall not bad if you are in the area but nothing work driving over for unless you are looking for a big collection of chileno gear and food products
Overpriced and stale. Quality has gone down hill. :(
Delicious !!!
My Grandfather Sergio loved this place, and would take me and my sister there frequently, the food was delicious and everyone is so friendly. I no longer live in the area but I think about this place frequently.
Came for the Too Good To Go bag. Stale sweet bread was given out. Disappointed
hallulas with hair! gross! I couldnt keep eating! LACK OF HYGIENE ! BAD FOOD HANDLING!! WEAR MESH IN YOUR HAIR AND FOLLOW FOOD SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Very expensive and they are making the Chileans empanadas small each one cost 3.95 Vegetarian options: A little Parking: Not much parking spot maybe 2 Wheelchair accessibility: No
Expensive empanada was not fresh
The chicken empanadas are great! (Thank you for the generosity today.) Food : 5/5
The place is verry ghetto was there with a friend of mine and she was telling me how the guys in the tables behind me, on the bar were making dirty faces at her. Expected good food at least but it was not. Had a mariscal as an appetizer and got a dessert bowl with can clams. The food is not made with the intention to attract chilean clients nor any. Chileans like to eat well and this is not a place I would want to go back. Their convinience store is better which is a few doors down in the same plaza.
They have some of the best meat and cheese Chilean empanadas in Toronto
Walked in not knowing what to get and walked out with some amazing homemade food. Wonderful owners! Cant wait to go back.
Delicious empanadas 5 stars
Had the carne empenada and a caramel dessert from the Bakery. Really good! But the Bakery is separate from the restaurant so watch for that.
The best empanada, dulce the leche, and all the food and kakes the best.
Best Empanadas in North York Ontario
Good service and good food clean store and polite staff
Delicious! A taste of home.
great place to get groceries
Alright... empanada was good, the bakery/store/storage was very small and didn t really know what to look for. There was no one in there to be honest could have just taken anything and walked out but got some things. Wasn t too great never found the restaurant and the guy wasn t in a great mood
Disgusting place, always dirty. If you want to eat empanadas go to Jumbo Empanadas at Kensington Market.
Plentiful of chilean goodies. Empanadas, alfajores, empolvados, Triton cookies (much better than Oreo!), mote con huesillos, and much more!
Great food, great staff
The best assortment of Chilean products!
always a great time, the food is amazing and the workers / servers are always helpful, attentive, friendly and kind. Food is one of a kind and so is the experience
One of the most terrible service I have ever discovered. Not sure what made me through up in the end, the food or service
Great bread and service
Yummy
Get the beef empenada.
Expensive, high prices
Awesome food!
Excellent tasty empanadas and aan amazing variety of products from Chile
they sell expired things at expensive and dirty prices, better not to buy here
Dirty place and they sell stuff that is expired for 5 years. Most things are expired. Be careful.
Its like a game! Try to find a thing that is NOT EXPIRED, a piece of bread that doesnt have a FLY on top or a bakery good that is placed on a clean surface. Basically impossible...not the nicest staff and VERY DIRTY PLACE. Plus PRICES ARE EXAGGERATED
The store sell expired stuff and I cried a lot when I saw all the flies inside. Thank you but I m not coming back.
Bakery, so dirty, smells horrible, flies all over and most of the stuff are expired already!!
Great empanadas
Good selection of Chilean goodies. Friendly staff!!
Great food and friendly staff!.. A little piece of Chile in Canada!
I loved the place, a little bit of chili when you miss the land.
Loved there panzerotti
Best empanadas in town
Authentic Chilean cuisine. Nice family run business
True, while I was in Toronto a piece of chili to savor...pancito...butter...
Excellent food
Although for nostalgic people it may be entertaining to find that product that you used to buy in Chile, the truth is that you end up paying more, which is not an issue, since in the end those things must matter. On the other hand, I had read that they erase the expiration date, which unfortunately seems to be true, since the things that were fresh did have the date and in others it was clear that they were intentionally erased. So be careful.
Excellent attention. Always friendly and the empanadas delicious, plus it is impossible not to always buy a couple of extra costas!
Good empanadas
All the products expired or expiration date erased
The empanadas and bread are delicious, they have a variety of products from the southern part of the continent, the place is a little Latin store, in general we were happy with the purchase
Everything that reminds me of home (CHILE) is sold here, including Condorito coffee mugs.
Delicious
Hmmmm very tasty.
OK
The bread is far from the most CHILEAN and can be found here and in the restaurant; a casserole, a complete, a puree with meat in the juice or whatever. And you look super good.
It is just like walking into an almacén in Chile. Best experience, they have a lot of stuff you can only get in Chile! I personally recommend the empandas. Get some Manjar as well.
Love their Chilean bread and selection of South American groceries
Home cooked feel and authentic Chilean cuisine. A little pricey, but worth it as the food is delicious.
Love the availability of goods from my home countey
I love this place
Products are ok, no other choice though.
Delicious!!! And affordable. Requirement and good prices
Perfect
Good food, but keeps declining in quality.
Excellent meat empanadas with the perfect dough thickness. Unfortunately, the cheese empanandas were not very good. As always, the breads are excellent.
They sell expires foods and the guy there is rude!
Yummy
Great service! Thank you!
I LIKE IT BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT OF VARIETY OF ITEMS.
Great food!!
Had a pastry stuffed with ground beef mushroom and onion, very tasty! A tad pricey ($3.50), but i like to support local businesses. Would definately buy another if i was I the area.
The party cakes are delicious, I recommend the peach one, but once they forgot my order for my sons birthday, so it is better to call to confirm the order a day before.
Store was stocked with a lot of authentic Chilean products
The best Chilean empanadas in Toronto
I love the sweet so goooooood
the halluyitas are delicious
Best authentic Chilean food in Canada!
Delicious food
Nice little quaint Chilean restaurant! The food is great and flavourful! The sopa marinera was delicious. I will return for sure to try some other items on the menu. It was fun having some Chilean soccer league action on the tv in the background!
Good Chilean bread and other traditional Chilean products.
Great Bread
I love the casuela, and the bistec a lo pobre, very good food and differents flavors :D
Great Thanks
I love it here #FeelsLikeHome
Okay
Casual restaurant, friendly staff, and cheap food. They should improve food quality and renovate the restaurants amenities.
I loved. Excellent food, economical, real Chilean flavor. Owners really love. 1 year in Chile and my first casserole. It exceeded my expectations.
DIRTYYY. FOOD IS OK.. FILTY NEEDS A GOOD CLEAN UP
Clean and pleasant place... Very delicious food and at reasonable prices. Totally recommended... The best Ive ever eaten in Chilean restaurants here in Toronto!!
Amazing food and drinks for great prices. Bestique a la pobre and avocado salad...a personal favorite!
Great Chilean food and service at reasonable price.
An excellent place, delicious complete Italian and supreme tea. Cash only, but there is an ATM nearby. Good conversation and TV from Chile
Good
Yehaaa
Delicious! Love the pebre they serve with the bread. All the typical dishes served here are great
Good food
Delicious and nice service. I love this place as the saying: Si es chileno es bueno
Service and experience was good
Amazing food, cash only
Good traditional Chilean food. A little pricy for the quality of the food.
Best Latin food in Toronto! Really, the cazuela (a kind of soupy stew with beef, potato and corn) just blew my mind! Empanadas, fish & mashed potatoes, Chilean salad... And the bread omg! Fast and very nice service too.
Excellent food which is served fast and has very kind and easy-to-talk-to waitresses. They also have TVs which broadcast important soccer games both Chilean and Non-Chilean.
Cute place
Very good people
Its a laid back place with authentic Hispanic food, reasonable pricing, and nice staff.
Very good food and cozy place
Yummy the taste of home. Great food great prices
No good
After a long time searching we found a good Chilean picada to recommend. It is on the west side of Toronto and has a varied menu at good prices. If you are looking for a Chilean Pituco restaurant, dont go to this one, but if you are looking for a place where you can find the flavors most similar to those you enjoy in Chile, then This is place to go. Here you can taste empanadas, have a Bilz/Pap, if you want corn cake or casserole they are there. A grace is that Rosa Chilena has a minimarket (convenience store), where you can find many products that one would not imagine, in addition to Ayuya bread as you know it in Chile. Well, since we discovered this place we have left it in a priority place to visit as many times as possible.
