808 York Mills Rd #8, North York, ON M3B 1X8, Canada
We loved the crispy fried noodle, vegetable spring rolls, steamed egg yolk buns and the braised tofu on vegetable. From calgary Alberta
Y’all have to read this review and understand why I give Kwan restaurant 10 stars if it was possible. What makes an environment is the people who live in that environment, not the price or location or even its status in the society. Food brings people from all cultures and races together as 1 in a happy and memorable environment and that is the outstanding and remarkable thing Dim Sum Kwan brings about. The service is wonderful ✨, the servers are kind, and amicable but most importantly the owner of the restaurant Mr Cheung is a wonderful and special person filled with love, jokes 😂 and hospitality. A lot of places are good but those places those places don’t have people like Mr Cheung. He is so far the best, most humble, kind, loving and respectful person I’ve seen in Toronto. Spending time in this restaurant with my friends was not only a wonderful moment but memorable thanks to Mr Cheung 👊🏼❣️. We are definitely loyal customers to place as from now after the 1st experience we had. This is not a marketing strategy, go check it out for yourself and come give me your feedback. Thank you very much for reading so far💯✨. Make sure you try their fried rice and chicken 😋.
Service, food and ambience were excellent. People are complaining about prices but for the quality of food they serve,it's worth it. We took our mom here for Mother's Day and she loved it,as we all did.
We were looking for Chinese dim sum place online and got directed to here. foods are good quality, service is above average Chinese restaurants. Inside is clean with high ceiling. Their main customers are non Chinese though, menu is all in English. Foods quality is good, but the portion is quite small. Won’t recommend if you are looking for authentic Chinese dim sum place especially if you are looking for congee.
A good dim sum and Chinese dining restaurant. High price and good quality of food. Serving of food may be a bit slow. We came in a weekday. We had the meal comfortably. Recommended this Chinese Restaurant!
The flat rice noodles, hor fan, with beef was very tasty and had lots of wok aroma. The chicken siu mai was flavorful and had a good texture when bit into. The shrimp spring rolls were hot and crunchy, with no oily filling. The jasmine tea was hot and had lots of aroma, and the decor was very unique and cozy, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. Just a bit too expensive.
Food was good, but Super over priced for what you get. They offer Dim Sum but only have a 'Top 14' list that you can choose from. Some notes: General Tao was fried nicely and tasted good but really salty and they give you no RICE! Fried squid was 18.99 and you get a tiny plate. Bring a jacket if you're sitting next to the door because it gets cold and then hot and then cold and then hot in there. We dropped chopsticks on the floor and the waitress literally picked them up for us and put them back on our plate... 😳
"This place definitely competes with the best dim sum places I've had" What time we arrived/Wait time? We went on Civic Holiday Monday at 4pm and it was EMPTY. Not a single table was in there. Then after awhile people started to come in. It was never full though. Atmosphere? It is absolutely beautiful. I can't believe I haven't heard of this place more! Darker decor and a very fancy feel. Service/Staff? The service is very fast and quick here. You order off of a sheet and they just take it and bring the food to you in a timely manner. I love that kind of service to be honest! Food/Menu? The food is really good! It's westernized chinese dim sum so it's not as oily which I enjoyed. The hargow, fried tofu with salt/pepper, and shrimp rolls were great. The short ribs with black bean sauce and squid were not great. Save your money on those ones. Otherwise I think it's totally worth coming here for a quick and cheaper meal!!
Absolutely delish!!
very friendly, professional, delicious, clean, fast, 10% off take out!!
Excellent food and even better service. They are always willing to accommodate special requests. Great decor and atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
I wouldn t recommend ordering off of uber eats either, they forgot half my order so I had to get it refunded
Overall really good, but pricy for the serving sizes and what you get.
Went to this restaurant after missing their other location at STC which closed a few years ago. It s located in a mall near Yorkmills and Leslie and parking in the evening was easy. The interior is beautiful nice ambiance lighting - wooden fixtures. Nice tables. I booked for a party of 10 and the management accommodated. It wasn t busy when I went which I wondered I could see a few take out orders being done. So a couple of things. Sunday their hours close at 8- I booked my reservations at 7 and asked the restaurant if they close at 8 should I move up my reservation- they said no they close at 9. Well sadly they still closed at 8 and we were rushed on our dinner We ordered 2 set meals and some dim sum. With some confusion we only received the meal for 1 set order and the dim sum we ordered the 2nd set order didn t come. When we asked they said the kitchen closed and they were sure we already got the food. I was worried I would have to argue about the missing meal but the manager was nice and credited it from the final bill. The food was not as good as I remember from STC. The dim sum sizes were small. The dishes were ok but lacked flavour. As we go to other authentic Chinese restaurants in Toronto I felt it wasn t that great for the price. Probably caters to Canadian palettes. The staff was super friendly and responsive bringing out dishes water napkins etc. they never asked us about tea which was too bad. We were celebrating a birthday and they let us bring the cake and brought it out at the end with the lights off which was nice. Other than the mix up food and being rushed out it was nice.
Im so surprised this place is ranked below a solid 5 stars. What an amazing experience, delicious food and outstanding service/staff. Beautiful interiors - appears to be exceptionally managed.
Great experience from start to finish, the food was delicious! Chi made sure everything was to our satisfaction, he was communicative and informative. He cracked some jokes too! Would definitely visit again!
The food is small portions and terrible tasting. The chicken siu mai was sour, the honey garlic ribs had no honey on them, there were items in photographs on the menu that were not actually menu items. Overall, pretty disappointed, especially for the price...and how much I used to love Kwan at the Old midtown (yonge and st. Clair location). Hard pass on ever coming back again.
delicious dim sum in a cozy, sophisticated space. we loved the har gow, shrimp and chive cakes, and the vegetable dishes! will definitely be back.
great place, great service, great food, make sure to get chive shrimp dumplings
Uber eats from here all the time as food is good. Last few times we have ordered they have forgot to send dishes. When we call to complain they say too bad we are too busy, complain to Uber. Real helpful. Terrible customer service. Food is good but service clearly terrible. Can t comment on atmosphere as I ve never been in restaurant.
The smallest dim sum I have ever seen in 40 years. The Siu Mai is the size of a quarter. Been here for years, but no more next time
I went to Kwan years ago for dim sum and had a good experience. I decided to bring my mom here recently, and to my horror they completely changed the menu for the worse. Now there s only a dozen dim sum items in which half were different kinds of spring rolls and dumplings. We ordered the soup dumplings which had no soup, and the staff knew that cause they didn t even give us a spoon, which you normally need for this dish. All the food tasted like it was just reheated from frozen. I ve had better dim sum at home. What a shame.
I would first like to admit that when we came for dinner, it was an hour and a half before closing. We were one of three others dining at the time, but the staff made it very clear that they were cleaning up to close. We felt rushed when ordering, and when our food arrived, everything was not horrible but below average. Anything with seafood tasted like they had to pull it from the freezer and our beef spareribs we re over cooked. Other than the food and the rushed service, the place was fantastic and atmosphere and very clean.
Vegetarian options: Har gow is the best Food
They are OPEN on Tuesday despite what their website says. Food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I was here on a Tuesday at 3pm and the atmosphere was nice.
The seats/chairs are super dirty. They could spend 5 mins to vacuum all the bits and crumbs from the crevices. This is the perfect place for white people especially in the area for dim sum. There are much better dim sum places but this place caters to a specific crowd in the area.
The food was good but a bit expensive. However, the customer service was bad. We were told to sit, given menus and a small piece of paper and pen immediately.. It probably was a slow day only a couple of tables were occupied. I had to call the waiter and confirm how to place the order. We got Shrimp wonton soup, Har gow, shrimp rolls with chives and Singapore noodles with shrimp and pork. We asked if they could substitute pork with chicken in the noodles to which the waiter promptly denied(might have had a no substitution policy). The waiter served the soup and appetizer within 5 minutes of placing the order and left without a word. We asked for a fork and never got it. He never came back to get our feedback on how the food was and if we needed anything. We asked for the cheque, paid and were were abruptly stopped at the door only to ask if the food was not good and why we hadn t tipped. My husband told that the food was good but he did not like the customer service. The server started mumbling and picking the credit card machine. If you are a light eater, looking to have a bit expensive dimsum and do not care about customer service, then I would highly recommend to visit this restaurant.
Food is great. Taste is good. Lots of variety to choose from.
Best dim sum food around. The owner is very nice..
Ordered dim sum and it was just ok. Nothing special for that price. Our waiter was outstanding though and the atmosphere is lovely.
The food is excellent! And, in addition, the service is outstanding... Very friendly and helpful!
Some of the best Chinese food in Scarborough, in my opinion! Everything we ordered was hot, fresh, and perfectly portioned!
Nice and clean!
This place has really gone downhill. Dim sum is among the most expensive in all of Toronto and the quality and portion sizes are tiny. Its just below food court quality for top dollar. Its too bad. It used to be decent and it was always expensive but now no reason to go back. We actually stopped ordering and had to do takeout later.
The food isnt that good and is incredibly fried leaving a disgusting taste. The staff was quite rude and fat shamed family Food
The dishes are all great. It s delicious, Yangzhou fried rice is my favorite! Beef fried noodles!
Im great for a long time.
Popped in to satisfy a dim sum -soup dumpling craving after being out of country the past 1.5mths. Did NOT disappoint! Interior design and atmosphere was an appealing modern chic minimalist. Food was brought out promptly and piping hot. Har Gaw, pork & shrimp sui mai, soup dumpling and crispy shrimp rolls were all tasty, good portions as described in menu, at reasonable price points. The service was friendly professional & quick. All around, rating this a 4.5stars
Others have had a better experience than I did, but I had a very rude server. This is definitely not an authentic dim sum place. I was scolded when I asked if they had certain menu items. Definitely sure I was not trying to be rude, but the male servers behaviour was uncalled for. I was also shocked by the small portion of the Hot n Sour Soup on the menu. $6.00 and there was about 3 tablespoons! I can usually get enough to fill 4-5 small bowls almost anywhere else. This place serves a very specific clientele. Look elsewhere if you are looking for real quality dim sum. I wouldnt have written this review if the server had behaved better.
Ordered dim sum on Uber and it was great. The food was delicious with a variety of flavours.
Food was disappointing and underwhelming. Front decor looked well enough to attract our attention, but thats it. I will say dont let the decor distract or fool you. What you see on the surface isnt always what you expect with what goes on behind the scenes. The washrooms could use some work with cleaning.
Great food and service. Very busy tonight and service was still great Food
Small restaurant. Clean. Kind of loud in ambient noise and the entrance door needs a dampener because it slams every time it closes. Food is not bad, though slightly salty. The dim sum is quite overpriced and lacks variety. But if youre looking for regular dishes, they are quite well-cooked and beautifully presented. Slightly above casual dining in quality and price. For the same price, I would pick this over Mamas pizza, but there are other restaurats I might pick over this.
Absolutely not worth it, even frozen dim sum from supermarket are better than here
Overpriced as a frozen diu sum. 17 dollars for a stir fried noodle? And the amount of the noodles even not enough for one person. and the plate was dirty . And the taste Lilol, eatable.
Very bad experience in Kwan Dim Sum. One of the waiters was dumping the meals and was extremely impolite, while the other waiter was very friendly. It really depends on your luck to have a relatively good experience. Strongly NOT-Recommended restaurant to have in-person dinning. The food is fair enough. I personally I rather pay extra to Uber to exchange better service.
The non dim sum portions were small. The soup dumplings were dry
I really wanted to give this a good review because one server was really nice however, the food portions are extremely small for the amount you re paying. We ordered half the Peking duck as they said it would be enough for 2 people but, it was barely enough for one. It was $100 just for half the Peking duck, (4pc)sui mai and (3pc) of spring roll. It would have been worth it if the quality was better but I would rather have frozen dim sum.
Great Dim Sum Staff wonderful very attentive and helpful with the menu. Will visit again. Have returned several times. No complaints. As good as ever. Very welcoming
Went for dim sum. All was good but then bit into the deep fried squid which as very fishy tasting and not fresh. I descretely told the waiter who proceeded to argue with me and said it was fresh and that everyone else liked it but me. I generally like squid and have had it there before and it was good .. not today .. too bad he argued with me about it.
I think the restaurant is struggling...charges almost 10 dollars for four dumplings. Order here only if you want to be ripped off.
Food is delicious. Dim sum is very good. Service was quick Waiter was attentive
Kwan is an excellent restaurant with delicious and delightfully prepared cuisine. It is not an extensive menu, but the dishes they prepare are of superior quality and pleasingly fresh and delicious. Service is always friendly and attentive. Especially if you are fortunate enough to have Jones be your server. Kwan is a lovely and relaxing restaurant where you can go with family and/or friends to enjoy a tasty meal for either lunch or dinner. Its tranquil atmosphere lends itself to a very enjoyable meal experience each and every time my wife and I go there. I would highly recommend Kwan. A very satisfied patron. Randy B.
Too expensive for dim sum, a small plate of the squid was $19, 4 pcs of har gow for $8 is unreal.
It used to be much better. Im not sure if its new management but the food quality is way lower. The siu mai barely had any shrimp in it, the har gow looked smaller than before, the prices are higher, and servers are incredibly rude asking for big tips for no reason. Avoid this place, it has gone down hill, either theyre struggling or no longer trying to do dim sum properly. There are much better options out there.
Morning tea has almost been cancelled, not popular
Great and friendly service but very overpriced with its quality!
Ordered online for first time today. The order process was quick and easy to get through. The food was ready for pick up as soon as I walked in through the doors. The gentleman who greeted us was extremely friendly. The food itself was delicious. Really enjoyed it. PS, great vibe inside the restaurant for dine in.
Amazing. I go often
We had the General Tao and Fried rice. Both were very fresh and tasty. Restaurant atmosphere is upscale. Recommend a visit.
Good food, Excellent Service
There s no option for zero star otherwise I would have given that. How can you even think of serving your customer this kind of food please stay away from this place. There are many dim sum places in Torontoi have had dim sums in many places by far the worst place to eat.
Good service and food. Detailed store cleaning can be improved, and price can also be more competitive. Kid-friendliness: Staff are nice to children
Craved dim sum & spontaneously popped in for some food in the late afternoon. Peking Duck was good, all the dishes tasted super fresh. Seemed to be the owner himself working at this time, he provided really attentive service. Food
Food was decent but the selection was a bit lacking. Dont expect Ill go back.
I placed a delivery order. I ordered 5 dim sum, 1 soup, and 2 sauces. I was surprised that the dim sum was so small and the taste was just so-so. I wondered if they had reheated the frozen dim sum... I think it was because I got it delivered, but it was perfect for the price. I am dissatisfied I ordered hot and sour soup, but it didnt taste good either. It lacked a lot of flavor. There was a lot of hot sauce and mustard left because the amount of dim sum was so small haha. Anyway, I wont order from this restaurant again.
They advertise as a dim sum place but only had 14 things on the menu for dim sum (4 of the things were potstickers/dumplings) No rice rolls or chicken feet or many of the normal things youd order at dim sum. The food they have is good but youre probably better off going to a dim sum restaurant.
The menu is different from what I saw online. You can t order half of the roast duck. I m very disappointed. The food is also more expensive than other places. It s outrageous. I don t want to come to this place again.
Would be nice to be larger dim sum selection
Dont bother if youre looking for traditional dimsum. No beef balls, chicken feet, spare ribs and portions are small. More geared for the non Chinese crowd.
The waiters working here are very rude, they do not treat people coming from outside kindly and they make the customers wait for a long time.
Good dimsum. We go there once a week. One of my favorite restaurant.
It s possible that they take more care with dine in orders.. but I ordered several items off Uber and the only tasty ones were the sticky rice and the fresh minced shrimp and chive cake. The pork dumplings tasted stale and the Shanghai steamed dumplings were undercooked... others weren t worth mentioning.. Very disappointing
The food isn t bad but very expensive comparatively to all the other good Chinese restaurants in the area. They only have dim sum but it s really not worth the price. This is typical of a Chinese restaurant taking advantage of white people. They were better before Covid but I think it s worse now.
Sweet in every dish. Dishes not supposed to be sweet is sweet.
Incredible service and delicious food. Can t wait to return!
Top notch service! And delicious food! We ordered all the favourites off the dim sum menu and all were amazing. We also had the Moo Shu chicken which was incredible and highly recommended!
Bad service. Short on portions and way over priced. Ordered $5 tofu hot and sour soup but was served $7 seafood hot and sour soup.. Was not compensated for the mistake... not to mention the portion was the size of two tea cups. Manchurian chicken ($15.95) had about 6-7 small pieces of chicken. The dish it was served on was so small I thought it was an appetizer not a main. Straight robbery Flavour on dishes was at least mediocre. Lastly, a lot of staple dim sum dishes were no longer on the menu such as chicken feet, pork in black bean sauce, shrimp rice rolls
Server was nice. Food was mediocre and pricey compared to other dim sums places but the ambiance and decor is nice.
Got the Peking duck combo for two and enjoyed a variety of food from lettuce wraps, fried rice (with lots of wok hayy), and stir fried veggies. The opening duck portion was very minimal though, hence the 4 stars The service was very speedy! Tea was an additional 4 dollars
Ordered 4 kinds and the portion was too expensive for the price. I would rather go to food court STC for a decent food and price. This resto is robbery and bad food tast and quality. Too bad a gave a tip today. Tentacles was only few pieces and small, yeong chow fired was a small tub for 15.75 each as.well with the beef mix with broccoli and bokchou with garlic .
The service is really wonderful. Got to meet the manager Paula and she s really devoted to offer the best quality in their food and service! Love their dumplings !!! Totally recommend to come here and often after the pandemic is over!
Small portion; overpriced.
Weve ordered from this restaurant a few times now and every time, weve been disappointed with the poor value --- expensive tiny portions! The taste is not bad but theyre really almost appetizer size. There are many other Chinese restaurants with far better value and a much more extensive menu. Kwans only advantage for us is that they are within walking distance.
Great food and nice quiet atmosphere! Xiao long bao and pot stickers were our favourites
Food was good. Service was good. - Mr.Kwon
Not much dim sum options on a weekday but food tasted decent, prices are average.
Dined in on March 4. The waiter had a strong cigarette smell on his clothes. Big turn off! However, the Cantonese chow mein made up for it a bit.
Had 5 of the dim sum dishes and loved them! Great portion size and lots of flavour. Thanks to Paula who helped us today. Great service, food arrived quickly and table was cleared as dishes were completed. Definitely recommend.
Will be back for sure for the xia long bao and Beijing duck. Lettuce wrap is not common in Toronto but a must in BC. Its great to have a taste of it. Strongly recommended.
Honestly super disappointed, I heard great things about this place so I ordered quite a bit of food and the first thing I wanted to try out of the order was the pan fried shrimp and chive cake, I was enjoying it until I felt something in my mouth. At first I thought it was shrimp shell but when I spit it out I was COMPLETELY shocked to find this piece of metal scrub. I decided to continue to try other things because I really didn t want the meal to go to waste.. then I find a hair in the rice! Usually I wouldn t complain but the fact I already found the metal scrub in my food it was too much for me.. I really think they need to tighten up the food safety here. I have never had something like this happen to me before. Unfortunately I won t be visiting again because I ll always be worrying about finding something in my food.
Taste is only okay. Small portion makes it not worth the price. Service is good overall.
Dim sums are not fresh and very small portion. The worst Dim sum Ive ever had. Also ordered crispy sesame chicken, the recommended dish and the portion is very small. The taste is okay but very few chicken inside, its only a dish of fried flour. I used to like this place. It was great 2 years ago with the old menu. Ill never come again.
Food is bomb! Worth every penny.
Really good service and a very chill environment!
We used to go to Kwan at St Clair and Yonge (Permanently closed now) and have always enjoyed their Dim Sum. We were north of the city and thought we should check out Kwan at York Mills. We were pretty disappointed to say the least. Very limited dim sum menu so we ended up ordering other items from the A la carte menu. Portions were very small. Service was mediocre as well. If you re looking for more options for dim sum this isn t the place.
Really sad that its no longer as good as it used to be. Service was great though.
Very nice. They are using super quality ingredients. The su mi (spelling?) was excellent.
Good quality and good serving size. The service was good. Located in a plaza so parking is easy and free.
Not bad, but, just not my type
Disappointed that this place has gone so far downhill. Before Covid, it was our go to spot for dim sum in the area. They certainly need more people and they need to bring back the old menu. The dishes we had were ok.
Poor service due to short staffing. Also, some of the dim sum was not fresh.
Not much food choices on the menu, not an authentic dimsum place for sure. The environment is nice but I would not come back again just because the food was fair.
Ordered pick up and the food was only half dishes. Soup was so little and not even enough for one kid. Horrible. Won t be going back.
One of the more disappointing meals Ive ever had. - Kung Pao chicken was too salty - fried tofu was too salty and unevenly mixed - hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour Credit where credits due - Peking duck was descent - har gows were not bad - interior decoration was pleasing Will not visit again.
Best Dim Sum!! Pan fried shrimp and chive Soup dumplings Shrimp har gow Bbq pork buns
Used to be my go to dimsum place. Havent been to it due to covid, when I came back number of menu offered is reduced and not too many choices
Rude and dismissive service and staff. Food took too long and werent even hot. Oh, and we ALSO found hair in the food which is disgusting. Shocked to see that there are other customers that have also experienced this. The washrooms are damp and smelly. Its just nasty and not hygienic at all. Absolutely disappointing experience. There are much better dim sum places in town.
food wasnt fresh. Har gao tasted sour and smelled.
Vegetarian options: Mixed vegetables with wood eating mushrooms are my favourite. Parking: Ample parking available.
I ordered takeout from Kwan as I was looking for peking duck to serve at my lease renewal bash. While the duck was decent for takeout, the winner was the general tao chicken. Paired with yeung chow fried rice and some crunchy green beans, the dishes at Kwan are classic and delicious. The prices are also pretty decent. Im glad I chose Kwan to feed my bash.
Dim sum is not fresh made and food is pricy. Never ever come back!
This place is a rip off. What they charge for what they give you is not comparable. Ordered crispy beef and received 10 small pieces for $17. What in the world?!? Paid $97 taxes in for 2 orders of dim sum, crispy sesame chicken, crispy beef, beef rice noodle and yeung chow fried rice. RIPOFF! Better off going to Noodle Delight!
I went here with my 98 year old grandfather who walks with difficulty. We were given seats near the front and the host treated my grandfather with the utmost respect, consistently stopping by to chat and check-in. I cannot emphasize how thankful I am for the kindness they shows him. The food was amazing too!
Ive loved Kwans, both locations, for years but I guess covid killed them some cuz the dim sum menu is much smaller but my favs were all on the menu
Delicious food! We really enjoyed the spare ribs. The owner was very kind and lovely to talk to.
Really good selection of food and nice staff
We always like their dimsums: siomai, pork bbq buns, sticky rice in lotus leaf, buns with eggyolk (love love this). We have tried their other dishes too and all have been good. We just find the pricey, maybe because it was for delivery, but not sure. Will still buy some of their food.
Great location and lots of selections on Chinese dim Sum and traditional Chinese dish . Food : 4/5
Rice was pretty dry and flavourless. Beef and broccoli was good . Food was Pretty expensive and probably will not reorder .
Great tasting dim sum for cheap! Well, we think so, all this was $40 and this is AFTER the Covid gouge.
I felt that they treated me badly because I had construction work clothes and it was a bit dirty but I didnt go inside until I just stayed in the hall. I felt a little racist treatment because of my appearance. I dont know if thats why they didnt prepare my food correctly because it didnt taste very good. I have eaten that before and its taste is very different from today
Food was hot. Small menu, limited items. Food
Lots of meats inside the pineapple bbq meat bun.
1 star update The entire menu changed and only features 14 types of dimsum (3 of which are repeated potsickers).... so 9 types of dimsum available. Your restaurant definitely has false advertising by keeping your old menu items on the windows and by calling yourselves dim sum restaurant even if the menu online has no dimsum at all. The dimsum quality (har gow, siu mai, and spicy dumplings) are at best mediocre but do not value at $6.99 per dimsum. Will not return because the menu was a disappointment. Food came so late. By the time we finished the stir fry vermicelli the dimsum came. However, served the wronged item. We will travel further than to come back here. [Review 2 years ago 4 stars] Decent enough, prices of dimsum is average in GTA. The manager stresses out and that stress energy is often spread to customers who are enjoying their meals, especially when the restaurant is not that busy.
Good dim sum place for those needing a quick fix. Service and food are good. Reduced menu offering at the moment(COVID). Support local
this place is good. prices were reasonable and the food was incredibly tasty.. overall I was very satisfied with the food and service too.. will definitely come back
Food s amazing and great service.
The best dimsum place in Ontario that I ve ever tried !! The service is superb, the food is excellent, serving time really quick, coming here to place an order and got my food within 10 minutes only !! Must try dimsum place in Ontario !!
Good food, affordable price, nice staff... will definitely come back...
Nice service
This is an excellent place to enjoy good food in a modern and elegant atmosphere, I will definitly come back and recommend this place to all my friends and family.
I LOVE THE FOODS. THE SERVICES ARE EXCELLENT!
the attention is excellent, and the food is much better !!!! super recommended
pickup by appointment is good, on time . Foods are well prepared and packed.
I ordered the King pow chicken and some shrimp dumplings jist to try it on my way home. Best Kung pow ive had in a min. Shrimp dumplings were well sized and flavorful
Food is great. Always come here for lunch. Very recommended.
Peking duck was incredible, crispy and flavourful. The wraps were steamed perfectly. We also tried crispy ginger beef and crispy sesame chicken, I would say the food was amazing and affordable. Friendly staff, lots of parking available at the plaza. I would definitely come back and try their dim sum next time.
This place is awesome, i picked up pecking duck this past weekend and it was delicious, probably the best one in town. Everything was fresh and lots of flavour. One order is ample enough to serve 2-4 ppl, decent price as well. Ill definitely come back and would recommend this restaurant. P.S. great servers
Super nice staff been going here for awhile but recently the quality just isnt what it used to be. The quality was always great and fresh. The last two times the quality has really declined. I hope the owners figure it out soon as this place is great and the staff are beyond amazing
As being an uber driver they re so nice with me.. I m impressed with their behaviour and surely I will try food one day
I love the food and service. very recommended!
Dining in (B.C) or taking out, really well rounded flavours and selection. I love the shrimp dumplings, eggplant dish, and the fried egg noodle pork/chicken/beef dish. Been ordering from here a few times over the years, always satisfied.
Called to order at 8:00pm when they close at 8:30pm No problem more than happy to take the order. Communication was perfect and friendly on the phone. When I arrived it continued. Very accommodating and friendly. Ive been ordering for delivery from another place and its been so/so. I have decided on no delivery services only pick up by myself so I drove a little farther to Kwan. The food is just a little better here and my drive home was 15min so we still enjoyed hot delivery courtesy of Jlite(uber). Im back on board well worth the drive and if you really want to support the restaurants take the drive for pick up and let the restaurant keep the 30%.
My favourite dimsum offering in the neighboorhod. Food is tasty, execution is consistent and always family pleaser!
I was so excited to finally be able to dine in for dim sum and we decided to try this place based on reviews. Firstly there is limited amount of dim sum options available (I believe only 15options) as their main chef is temporarily away. I was mainly disappointed about the deep fried squid tentacles as the pictures posted on google look delicious but when we got our order I was surprised as they were pretty much blobs of batter with tiny pieces of squid in them.. some didn t even have squid in them it was just batter and they were $10 for a portion the size of your palm! We also ordered hargow, shu mai, sticky rice which was decent. The staff is friendly and the interior is nice
The food tasted plain in general and the sweet and sour soup was not good at all and I am putting it very politely! Not to mention the mishap I had with the 2 sets of menus they had in the restaurant with the exact same dishes but different prices and they insisted on charging me the higher prices. Honestly, I dont even want to bother to go in details. All in all, it was my first time and last time. Believe it or not, I went there based on the reviews from Google and am I ever sorry!
Great food and very friendly staff. Love that they expanded the menu.
The staff are really friendly and helpful and the food is amazing! Great deals and the dim sum is above excellent!
My first time trying the Pecking duck and it was amazing! The staff are amazing and really helpful with questions. We were constant being checked on. All the dim sum are amazing! Their lotus leaf is so good! Will come back!
Was terribly disappointed with the food.. Unfortunately we will never be back.
food is ok, good service
Charged us 5$ for extra lettuce, way overpriced
Our usual go to restaurant in the area. Pretty good for dim sum but would NOT recommend ordering sweet and sour pork. We were stunned to get perfectly uniform balls that were most breaded. When I called them, they said it has always looked like that but we have been eating at this restaurant ever since it opened and it has never looked like this before. I hope they are not trying to cut back on their costs and they are on the verge of closing, now that their main restaurant at Yonge and St. Clair has closed.
Nice atmosphere but maybe because of covid, the dim sum selection is pretty limited and feels a little like its steamed from frozen.
Absolutely phenomenal dim sum A must try!
Food and service are great. I love their dimsum and noodles. Very recommended
Delicious and friendly. However, the price is a bit expensive and the quantity is small.
Menu is extremely limited. And they charged 4$ for tea, wth.
Peking duck for two is excellent.
Loved Kwan at yonge and st Clair but since they recently closed due to condo redevelopment, I just ordered it on Uber eats and it was just as great. Also found it very well priced compared to most. This will definitely be a go-to dim sum spot for me and the family.
The staff is really nice and friendly! The food is good and worth the price.
Hidden gem. The best dumplings weve had. Service is fast and friendly. Take out is also available. Cant have enough. Love this place!
Very solid place, great service, food tastes amazing, and prices are average
Har gow had nice chunks of shrimp. I ate 3 orders. Yes I m fat :) def will go back potstickers and crispy noodles really good w beer
Food is delicious!
Delicious food!! Great ambience and super friendly staff! Paula was great and gave us excellent recommendations! Will come back again for sure
Have been here at least 4 times. All 3 visits previously were great. Relatively good service and food is very good. Choices for dim sum is limited compared to other larger restaurants. I would give this a 4 star. But our last visit was dismal. We waited for 20 min before someone came give us tea or menus. Place settings were already set. Since I had 2 guests with me it was embarrassing as I billed this restaurant as a great place to eat. We were about to get up and leave when finally someone came to take our order. Then we had to wait for another 45 -1hr for our food. People behind us got served and ate half their meal while we still waited for outs. Again we were about to leave when the order finally came. Hence the 3 stars. Food was great! SERVICE was HORRIBLE!!! I will not return! Your need to get your act together and not be stingy on staff to have 1 brand new waitress on duty who checks things 3 times for both orders and bills. Get more experienced people to work for you. and have more than just 1 person servicing the dinner hour!!! YOU ARE KILLING YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!!
Fancy look but food is not so great then other dim sum place. Still close by so...
Food, to me was average. Nothing special in terms of variety for dim sum compared to other places. Didn t get pictures of the food as it even looked mediocre. The atmosphere and environment looked nice and was worth the shot. They are super pricey compared to other dim sum places and I think it is due to the location. Surrounding demographics have a higher disposable income?? With that being said, for the price to food quality ratio, it s not the best. Much better out there for A LOT cheaper. Secondly, they need to have attention to detail for customers more. They put down a plate of food, crossed it off the list and walked away leaving the lid only and took the food with them. When we called the same person back, she was oblivious to the fact that happened. We didn t call her back after 10 minutes. After our table, she went to one more and on her way back, we flagged her down. Continuing with the attention to detail, I understand HVAC issues and maintenance getting fixed during hours of operation, but the restaurant is not a big corporation. They decide to do it during lunch hour rush and the heat went up dramatically that even with the door open in one of the coldest days, i was still starting to sweat. My brother who doesn t swear easily even felt the heat instantly. Experience was none to say the least uninspiring and with such a great location, you could do so much more with a dim sum restaurant.
If the place is fairly full, expect to get zero service. We asked for a table out of the cold from the door and they offered the better table to new customers arriving at the door after being there for 15 minutes, still waiting for them to pickup our order. Unacceptable.
Staff is friendly and food is good. Place might be a bit expensive but worth it. Waiting staff gave us a couple of dim sum dishes on the house.
dim sum was sooo good. can t wait to go back
A little on the pricy side but tasty dim sum
I called to place my order. I was put on hold 3 times. And then when it was time to place my order, they said that I have to read out the names of the items I want, not by the number. I was told to call back. I decided to order elsewhere. I find that their service was better pre-covid.
The server did not wear face mask while serving food. At first, I thought maybe he just forgot to put his mask on for once. However, every time he served the food or even talked to customers sometimes, his face mask was just hanging on one side of his ears without covering his mouth. The food was also very average. I will never come back again since they are not taking serious about their hygiene during these time.
Just ordered food very fresh, delicious and not too salty. love it
Reasonable quality dim sum in a nicely decorated, relatively quiet dining room. Priced a little high, but I imagine that keeps the place more low key.
How you charge 2$ tea per person
A local favourite.
Quality Food with excellent Service. Must try the fried octopus! Pricier than other Dim Sum places, but you are paying for the service and the location!
Delicious food with a wide variety. The food is more Western than traditional Chinese dim sum but still very good.
Had been really good but seems to be slipping over last few visits. Hopefully it can turn around.
Great food and great staff
Good food good staff. Food tastes fresh and cooked to order. Atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable.
Food is good but portion sizes are too small for its price. They also charge $10 for tea at the end
My first time here was great; the second they said they were having problems with Enbridge and our food was quite delayed. The food is delicious. Despite the challenges on my second visit I will be back again.
First time here. Came in on a Thursday night. Staffs were really friendly and kind, especially the old woman with glasses! Props to her! Foods were good, a little pricy but nonetheless good. As a Chinese/Caton restaurant this place is really quite and cozy. Feels like somewhere youd go on a date to. Ill bring my future girlfriend to this place for sure (hopefully lol).
Great shrimp
