An extensive menu of popular Chinese fare, with lunch specials, served in a shopping-plaza setting.
$70 down the drain. I came to try this after one of my favourite food content creators recommended it. The food was definitely not fresh (week old food if not longer). The chicken wings were rock hard, the crispy ginger chicken was bitter and burnt, all of the food consisted of the same seasonings there was no difference in flavour. This is TERRIBLE and a WASTE OF MONEY. DO NOT COME HERE!
We have been eating at this restaurant for over 18 years and the food has been consistently good over that time period. Service is very polite and quick, the food is delivered to your table piping hot within five minutes of placing the order. We especially like their house chilli sauce and the green tea. This place continues to be a family favourite.
One of my favourite Chinese food restaurants in Toronto. I used to go to a place on College st. near Spadina many years ago. The place closed down and I could not find it again. Just recently I happened to mention the place to the owner and it turns out that he owned the other place. Lucky me! The service is great! I love their hot and four soup. Fantastic! I love most of the dishes with shrimp or seafood. Their Green beans are legendary. Just the way I remember them from years ago. My friend loves his ginger beef dish and everything else he had there. We go there almost every Sunday. And, the prices are great! Highly recommended!!!
Was inspired by Chef Dev on Instagram to visit. Ordered one of the items that he had ordered - the crispy ginger chicken, mixed fried rice and fried wontons. The chicken dish consisted of boneless pieces of chicken, deep fried and slathered with ginger soy glaze. It tasted amazing with the fried rice which by itself was a bit dry for my liking. I found the wontons also to be a bit too dry because they were really small and deep fried. I will definitely go back to try the crispy chili shrimp. Service was excellent. The place itself was very cozy and clean. The interiors were well lit and maintained. The servers packed our leftovers which is a huge plus for me.
This place is very good and has been serving the community for many years. Best to go with a large group and share a bunch of different dishes.
Whenever we come into Toronto from Ottawa, we always come here for at least one meal! The restaurant is more spacious now that numerous tables have been removed due to Covid restrictions. The vegetarian spring rolls are the best spring rolls! No other Chinese restaurant spring roll compares. They put a small red dye dot on them to marl they are vegetarian. Other dishes we enjoy are beef with cashews, honey garlic spareribs and loo mein noodles. Friendly staff and lots of free parking in the parking lot in front.
Szechuan Gourmet is highly regarded and was recommended to my parents by their friends. They were so amazing that they have since gone back twice before recommending and taking me there. It was easy to see how this place is so popular. The server did a great job in recommending some dishes and they were all delicious. We got the spicy curry beef spring roll, dry sautéed Szechuan crispy shredded beef, the hot spicy chicken, vegetable fried rice and house special fried noodle. Every dish came out within minute of order and tasted so fresh and full of flavour. Each dish had intense flavour and was so enjoyable. The spring rolls were not the usual thin small spring rolls you find at most places, but very big thick spring rolls deep fried to perfection. The shredded beef was by far my favourite dish. The servers are also very personable and chatty. They have passion for their job and strive to give each diner the best experience. I can’t wait to go back to Szechuan gourmet again and I highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious Chinese food.
For a chinese restaurant, they have good customer service. We were served by an older guy and he was very patient with our questions. The food came within 15-20min of ordering. We ordered Szechuan fish, General Tao Chicken, fried rice, fried noodles and bean curd dish. I loved the fish dish the most. The serving size was large, there were 5 of us and we had to pack 2 boxes of leftovers. For the 5 dishes we ordered, the bill came to $70 with taxes. Really reasonable prices.
Very delicious food and great service. Everything is great. It deserves a visit!
We have been coming here since the restaurant opened. The food is great & the service excellent. The only variable is the owners temperament, sometimes friendly and sometimes quite the opposite. Reminds me of Fawlty Towers, anyway will not take away any marks for that. We always enjoy the cosy atmosphere and the delicious food and the attentive staff. Vegetarian options: Chinese greens, eggplant with garlic sauce & many other options enjoyed by our vegetarian friends & family. Parking: Plenty of parking in the parking lot.
Always a good choice, food is good staff are friendly.
Chicken stinks, never ever go to this place. Its a trash
Ive been coming to this restaurant for years, and most of the time my experience (including the food) has been good. However, I feel compelled to write about my latest experience which was a take-out order. I ordered the dry-sauted cripsy shredded beef and the hot and spicy peanut chicken. I was asked about the spice level for both, to which I requested normal spice level (and while I can eat very spicy, other family members cannot, hence normal). The first issue I had was with the dry sauted beef. For years, they would add a small amount on sauce on the bottom of the takeout container, in which youd mix the beef in the sauce. Well, not this time. The beef, although crispy, was too dry and lacked flavor due to no sauce being put in the dish. I called after arriving home to express my dismay, to which the lady (she has dark black straight, chin length hair), told me that the chefs changed the recipe due to beef becoming soggy in the sauce. Ive been coming here for years, and it appears this is the first time they have changed this recipe. My suggestion to the lady (who unfortunately would not let me talk and kept talking over me), was to inform customers who order this dish of the recent change, and to ask them if they still want sauce in the dish. Her response: We cannot inform every single person, okay!. Well, excuse me, but your customers are your bread and butter !! Without them, youd have no business! They should at the very least update their menus to reflect the change, not to mention, maybe inform customers for the first few weeks of the change (recipe has been modified without the sauce). As a restaurant, YOU are offering a product (in this case, food), and it is YOUR responsibility to notify customers of the changes made to YOUR dishes/food items. The lady on the phone offered to put sauce on my dish if I came back with the dish. Im sorry, but I live a decent distance away and was not about to drive near back so THEY can fix a mistake THEY made. Also, it was near closing time for the restaurant. What the lady should have done is, first, apologize like a normal human being would, for the mistake of not notifying customers of the changes made to this dish. She could have offered to replace the dish on the next visit, but clearly she was being very defensive and tried to CONVINCE me that the new recipe is better. Excuse me, but I KNOW what I like, so please dont ever try to convince me that the shredded beef taste better without sauce. Everyones taste is subjective and unique. So she did not apologize, nor did she offer to replace the dish for the next visit. What did she do instead? She hung the phone up on me. Excellent customer service right? Schezuan Gourmet should be ASHAMED with how poorly they handle their customer service issues. Oh and I am not done yet. To make matters worse, the peanut chicken was deadly spicy - honestly inedible. I can eat very spicy, but this was unacceptably spicy. And the best part... THEY asked about the spice level to which I responded NORMAL spice for both dishes. Again, Ive been coming here for years, so I know what their normal spice level is like. So this dish was ALSO a complete let down. Overall, this take-out visit was completely unnaceptable in terms of the quality of both dishes and thr poor customer service. I will forgive them this time. Maybe this was a one off experience, and maybe the lady on the phone was having bad day (this is not an excuse!), but if their customer service continues to be poor, including not fixing their poor communication (the spice level and lack of sauce are both communication errors on their part), I will not be coming back to this restaurant. The issues with both dishes were in my opinion completely preventable had they done their due diligence in communicating properly to their customers.
Dietary restrictions: There are so options for diabetics here. But you need to know what you are ordering. Food
Great food. Fresh and fast. Been going here for over 20 years. Hope they stay for 20 more!
Great food and service. Underrated!
Me and my mother come here all the time. Get the lunch special with Wonton Soup and steamed rice. My mom gets the peanut chicken. I get General Tso. The sauce is thick
Celebrated my older brothers 86th birthday. Had to do reservations as its a popular restaurant.
They been there for a long time! Food preparation is always good and friendly service. Reasonably priced. Recommended!
Incredible delicious food, good atmosphere, service is amazing. Food is always super quick and hot. Honestly cannot ask for anything more!! The Hakka Fried Noodles are my favourite
I had the general tso chicken, and shortly after had to rush to the lavatory. I do not recommend this place. It is not common both me and my mate get an upset stomach so quickly after eating a meal.
I heard about this place on tiktok and wanted to see the hype. The food was so goood. The crispy ginger chicken and Chilli shrimp were amazing. So crispy and flavorful and had alot of spice. The noodles and fried rice were also so goood. Amazing portions and such friendly service I will definitely come back. This place is also one of the best hakka spots Ive tried.
Food is quite disgusting. I had the shrimp and vegetables, asked for no spices. Still too spicy for me. The won ton soup in a cup was more water than soup. Rice was good. The shrimp, from what I could taste under a disgusting chemically tasting sauce, was good but the vegetables were extremely disgusting. They were NOT cooked and hard like rock. I know the difference between crunchy and NOT COOKED. I told them at the end of the meal and I was told that next time I should ask them to soften the vegetables. Does that mean I have to tell them how to cook in the kitchen and pay for it as well . Are there any decent restaurants in this city any more?? Unfortunately I havent found them. On the other hand my friend thought this place was good and she had the same dishes as me. Parking: Always busy because there is another restaurant right beside it
I only did takeout which was very quick. I ordered Szechuan shrimp and scallops in black bean sauce. I was always meaning to try this restaurant since I miss the old Garlic Pepper Szechuan restaurant. The dining room, albeit small, was busy and bustling, normally a good sign. However, for seafood, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Both the shrimp and scallops were tasteless and seemed to suffer severe freezer burn. The scallops were so far gone that I mistook them for water chestnuts. The sauces in both dishes were not tasty. With a few spring rolls that were a bit burnt, but tasted good, I lost $55. I had to dump both dishes as none of the 5 people hanging out with me, who tried it, wanted it. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this restaurant.
This is the best. THE BEST
Staff is attentive and friendly. Food is amazing.
Super friendly staff, great food, and reasonable prices. Great spot!
Spicy peanut chicken!!!!!! Memories of spadina gardens
Been dining here for years and have never had a bad meal. Although the atmosphere could use an update, food is always fast, hot and delicious with good sized portions. One of our go-to regular spots!
Food served here is brown . Overly soaked with soy sauce and oily/greasy. Flavours are muddled. Not an experience to return to.
Every dish weve ever had at this place is absolutely fantastic my personal favorite is the crispy ginger chicken the owner and staff are very friendly and more than accommodating recommended to anyone
Absolutely the most disgusting Chinese food Ive ever had the displeasure of purchasing in my entire life I wouldnt feed it to my loved ones I went back to see if they would give me another plate but it didnt make a difference its all the same I feel like its just way too much oil salt and for some other reason the food came out really fast because the second time I went back and ask her to replace the meal I didnt even have to wait 5 minutes for the next one so I was immediately suspicious once I did open the package of ginger chicken that was handed to me by the owner and I had gone into my car I had realized that this is not something you should be eating dripping in oil and absolutely the most awful experience stay away from this restaurant I feel sick after having even stepped in there let alone tasting the damn food. I dont ever leave bad reviews but I felt compelled to tell other people about this terrible restaurant serving absolute garbage.
Ordered about 6-7 items from here and I felt like it was all just ok. Given how much youre paying for the food in comparison to the quality, I likely wouldnt return but thats mostly because I dont live in the area. Definitely not a spot Id go out of my way to come to. They did do a good job packaging everything for the order which was nice.
Sorry no photos, I was too busy eating this on my lunch at the office. Americanized Chinese restaurant so if you come in with the right expectations, you will not be disappointed. Ordered from the lunch menu for takeout and it was done extremely fast. Almost a little too fast but the general tso was crispy right flavor profiles. Decently priced.
This is the BEST Chinese I ve ever had. It tastes soooo fresh and clean. You have to try this.
If I could give no stars I would. They dont even deserve a one star. Awful service.
Always great food. Prices are too high now.
I ate at the restaurant once and loved the food but I hate that they dont do delivery in my location and they are not in uber eats or door dash.
My favorite place.
Brilliant food, great service, great prices. Also, if you ever went to Spadina Garden and wonder where it went - its here. Spicy peanut chicken, General Tsos chicken (nobody does it like this place), and crispy ginger chicken. All stupendous.
Food, atmosphere, parking. Its all good Service is also good.
Good food fast service been coming here for over 10 years big portions everything always fresh
Food is always great
Absolutely disgusting restaurant disgusting oily food I wouldnt serve to my dog chicken is burnt noodles dripping with oil deep fried pure black burnt to a crisp stale egg rolls are dripping in oil I tried it for the first and the last time once I took my food back she wouldnt give me a refund oh by the way all their good reviews and bought and paid for just check the reviews left and check their other reviews
Disappointed in the quality i felt sick after eating here they server the stale leftovers for take out and staple the bag shut to prevent their customers from seeing whats in the bag and once you get home and realize that this food is about a week old and have to go back they will make up some story about no refund they dont even offer to replace the damn meal just a bunch of savages if you do not eat here i will be contacting the food and beverage board for an inspection of their facilities there was so much oil in the noodles pooled down in the plate that you can see they dont ever change the frying oil
Best of the best OG Chinese food.
Rice was good, noodles too oily and the wings were from who knows what day! Dry and more breaded than croutons I rather give my money to charity!
Great hot and sour soup, delicious and spicy dishes! The Spicy Peanuts Chicken was *fabulous* today!!
Excellent food and always fresh, portions have become smaller and very overpriced!
Incredible food and very fast service. Get there early if you are dining in. Highly recommend the spicy peanut beef.
Take out
Tastes great! So fresh and good service busy with repeat customers
Best Chinese food restaurant in Canada!
I called that restaurant, to make reservations, and the lady who answered was the most rude person ever. Aside from not being able to understand her very well, I only asked her if Icould make reservation for tonight Dec 31,she said if I had reservations I wouldnt be telling you and she hang up. I have never been there, and I will never go there. Some people are not meant to deal with the public.
I was just here on New years Eve and this restaurant was jammed pack busy people were lining up all the way to the exit. I order my usual peiking chicken with extra sauce, crispy ginger chicken with white meat only (they also have the same style in beef big pieces and shredded beef style) chicken corn soup large size which serve for 6 people, Szechuan style noodles which came with shrimps and chicken thick noodles which I very liked. CHILLI CHICKEN with also white meat only it comes dry and spicy. I also order few Vegan dishes and steam Rice. The food was still very warm when we got home it was about 25 mins drive from the restaurant considering how busy they were. Overall food is still very consistent thats why I will keep on going back. If you like it extra spicy just ask for more heat when you place your next order. Keep up the great job Szechuan gourmet!!!
Been looking for a good Szechuan place for a while. Had the Dried Szechuan Shredded Beef, Crispy Ginger Chicken, Cantonese Chow Mein, and Fried Chili Squid. All was fantastic with fast friendly service. Well definitely come back.
Good spot for Chinese. Remember the ginger chicken being quite good.
Amazing staff and service.. A must taste!!
I was recommended this place by someone that said the owners were somehow related to the people that operated Spadina Gardens. Not sure if its true, but their food tastes very similar and is really good!
For me Dried shredded beef Spicy peanut chicken Singapore noodles Are the best in town
Crispy wonton soup and house special noodles are out of this world, decent Hakka/Chinese cuisine
Best take out food
Very affordable prices, excellent menu choices, food is delicious and the plates are big. Highly recommended, good value, hearty meals.
Been going for at least 20yrs. Always fantastic. We drive from downtown to have it
I have had quite a few dishes here. Everything seems on point
Thr food was excellent for the price and the service was great. Very buay at lunch time.
I originally read through the numerous reviews for this restaurant.... many 5 star and many not. I decided to try the place myself with a party of five. We had a reservation so we need not worry about waiting. We were greeted at the entrance by the hostess (our experience matched several others in that she was not the happiest person to deal with). We were seated promptly. The server did not offer us water until we were at the table several minutes and we ended up asking for water. We ordered the crispy beef, pork ribs, beef spring rolls, general tsao chicken and chicken lo mein. All the dishes did not arrive together... each plate had a five minute interval so when the last plate arrived the first wasnt hot. The crispy beef was unlike anything we saw before.. it resembled falafel, big pieces. When we tried to bite into then it was like a rock... more crispy coating than beef! The ribs tasted ok, but were not very meaty. The beef spring rolls were good... not as wonderful as many other reviewers claim to be. The general tsao chicken was just unlike any we tasted before... Not sweet and spicy nor red coloured... very bland and served in a soy sauce. The chicken lo mein was ok, but was cold when we started eating and soaked in soy sauce... It seems the same sauce is used for all the dishes... a bland soy based sauce, brown and unappetizing. Everything blended together on the plate into a bland, brown heap. Overall, I have to side with the not 5 star reviewers... the food is not consistent and is unappetizing at times. I am beginning to believe the 5 star reviews were compensated for their contributions. This was our first and last time dining here... very disappointing.
Love it
Personally, never had a bad meal here..came to town after living away for 5 years and they remembered me brilliant!!! Update I live in Halifax and would Kill for place like this there solid 2 thumbs up
cheap and good, u know its good cuz it has bad service
Food was amazing
Always good
Awesome service and food
Best Hakka Chinese everrrr
My family has been eating here for 26 years, since I was a child and the food and service has always been better than any restaurant in Chinatown or midtown!
This place has mythical status... Been around forever and very popular with the local crowds. We moved out of the neighborhood years ago, but still make the trip to this restaurant once in a while.
Price performanc great
Good food and large portions, went here for my fathers birthday. They were nice. I brought in a cake from outside and they took it in the back and put candles on it and brought it out at the end.
Been coming here for about 6 years great service, best Chinese food in city tried a lot of the dishes the only thing that disappointed me were the egg rolls and I only tried them once and never again so it could have been a fluke, the prices are very reasonable order 4 dishes for 2 people and you will have a feast with left overs for one the next day!!!
Yummy food and efficient service
First time going here, the soup was great!! Will definitely go back!
Food was good, price great
Every dish is siaked in soy sauce... all dishes are brown and unappetising.
One of the best fried rice I ever had.i will be going there again..
We have been going there for over 20 years. While the food is not the same as it was 20 years ago, it is still very good and all our guests really enjoy it every time we take anyone. Hot and sour soup and crispy ginger chicken
I had not been to the Szechuan Gourmet in about 5 years. Glad I went. Git take out it was Fresh, good portions and not greasy at all. The service was also polite and professional.
We have been going to this restaurant since 1999. The quality and taste of the food is just outstanding. With Covid pandemic we were not able to visit here, but it was such a delight to be there on July 27, 2023 and to be greeted hello Bosco by Cecilia, a wave from her husband and from one of the longtime staff. The food and service was truly excellent!!!
EDIT: both my wife and I got food poisoning despite all of our food being overcooked or burned. 1 star fully. Nothing can make up for that. Genuinely thought we would not have gotten it too. The food was really alot more mediocre than I expected given the 5 star reviews. Did takeout, was pleasant enough, honestly was some of the worst chinese food I ever had besides the one time I had uncooked food at another location. I wonder if we were short changed given the time limit of 10 minutes as it tasted like both the General Tsos and the Shanghai Noodles were washed in soap. The pork was near burnt, the shrimp seemed fine, but the two dishes were completely tasteless and greasy. The supposedly spicy Tsos chicken was not spicy at all, rather it was burned. Unfortunately, I wont be coming back or giving the place another chance as yet another Chinese restaurant shortchanges and underdelivers for the sake of cost alone while charging exorbitant prices on the food they send out. The decor was nice though.
Its tired, but the food is passable. Last remodelled in 1980 Food
Best in York region by far
I ordered to pick up so I can t tell about the service or the atmosphere I ordered Lemon chicken the chicken was very dry and the breading was hard to chew .. the yellow sauce that comes with it was tasteless I don t recommend it
Amazing food and amazing service each and evert time
Food tastes like it s been cooked hours before they bring the food out too fast you can just tell it s not made to order my chicken ball looked like it was re fried 3 times staff are really friendly and work really hard it s a shame that the owner wants to send out food that is sub par years ago it was much better
Ive been dining at this restaurant for over 20 years, and I personally feel that it is the best Chinese-food restaurant in the GTA!
Excellent food! Been serving up for 25 years and always delicious! The taste and spice are perfect!! Vegetarian options: Try the house delicious bean curd!!
Great food, reminds me of the old Spadina Gardens. Well done.
Best food, period.
Excellent
DO NOT EAT HERE! I called to pick up an order, paid $60 for 4 items. House fried rice, deep fried chicken wings, shrimp with black bean sauce & broccoli with garlic sauce. The fried rice & shrimps were ok but the chicken wings & broccoli with garlic sauce wasn t. chicken wings were old wings, breaded too much they didn t even look like chicken wings, they were dark inside & I called to explain that to the manager & she said to come by with the food. I came to the restaurant & asked to speak to the manager, she takes the food & opens it, & begins to tell me that the chicken wings were good & that they are the best seller , I told her I m not eating the food & I want my refund, the chicken wings were not edible & the broccoli with garlic sauce had no garlic or flavour & the chicken wings were old wings. She puts the food back into the bag & slides it over the table & says she doesn t give refunds but she can do an exchange of food. I did not want to eat anything after my appetite was already ruined looking at the chicken wings, I kindly told her to please give me back the money I spent on the food. She continues to say no & takes out her phone to record me & say she s going to call the police. So I took out my phone to record her as well & explain I work hard for my money & that I just wanted my refund. I sat down quietly waiting for the police to come as she continues to record me on her phone. Other guests at the restaurant told the manager to just give me back my money & she was firm on saying NO REFUNDS , I stayed at the restaurant for about 20mins waiting for the police to come & they didn t, I didn t end up getting my refund either. Please don t eat at this place, if you like good food DO NOT EAT HERE. If you want to be treated with RESPECT, DO NOT COME HERE.
Great value for takeout combo specials. I ve enjoyed many years of the menu choices. Don t enjoy dining in if the bossy lady is there. She rushes you out. Today I walked out before even having a chance to order a takeout. Don t know who was the rudest to me. The usually nasty bossy lady/owner? Or a nasty nosy customer. I don t go out of my way to be disrespectful to anyone, but I will not tolerate being mistreated. Too many terrorists have invaded the innocent . This is Toronto. This is Canada . Sad that this experience today has spoiled it
Good taste and very fast service.
Ordered food to go. Food was already prepared. By the time I got their paid for my meal took it home portion was reasonable food was really hot. Could ve had more shrimp though was only three.
Do not eat here. This guys serve beef to us after being clearly informed we don t beef based on our religion belief, these people lie to us saying it was eggs. Later, we complained about food being salty these guys harass us to pay for something which we did not eat and sent back. Furthermore, they locked the door and threaten us they are calling cops. Uhh I wish I could write more as lot of things to say. Highly recommended do NOT GO THERE AT ALL.
Do Not eat here. Food is disgusting she made my 5 year old cry - the lady who likes to take pics as shown in below comments scared my child so badly please don t eat here!
I am so pissed the way they treated the table next to us! I feel bad for the kid with them. First And last time for us! Food
Something about this place! As soon as I entered I told my husband just by looking at their hot sauce! This is not the place to eat! Guess what? I was absolutely right! We ordered 4 types of chicken! They all were deep fried when we asked what s going on! They said it s not fired- it s all stir fry! Clearly we don t know what we eating according to them. So we said we don t want it! Instead of saying or fixing up our food - they said, sorry we can t do anything! They ruined not only our dinner but my Daugthers happy occasion! I wish I have read the reviews before going there!! I am glad 1 star people saying exactly what I have experienced it! Earning $100 is not easy nowadays! Please give people what they order or what you tell them when they ask you! Please read the 1 star reviews instead of 5 stars! Those are their own reviews! Can t believe they are 4.1!! At least fix the salt to your dishes!!
1 star is more than they actually deserve. Overall disappointing and was treated with disrespect.
The lady who answered the phone was rude. I was calling to make an order for the first time and was shocked at her tone. I will never be going there nor would I recommend it to anyone. Very disappointing.
Twice I have called this restaurant at 5 pm to order takeout (once on a long weekend and once on Xmas day). Both times a very rude lady said no more order and hung up the phone. No more order when the restaurant closes at 9:30pm. I call bs. Unhelpful, rude, irritating, pathetic customer service. Lost this customer regardless of how good the reviews are for the food.
Expensive and the sizes are kind of small
One of my families favourite comfort spots. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Today, my daughter wanted noodles but wanted soft noodles. We ordered chow mein and when it arrived , we realized it was the wrong noodles. The waitress explained the difference between lo mein and chow mein. Our mistake, but a good one, because, I found out today I like chow mein - fried noodles.
You can find better Chinese food in any mall food court. So disappointing.
One of our family s go to restaurants for dine in and take out. Been a customer here for years! Food is always amazing and Cecilia and her team are wonderful!
Very cozy place. The cuisine is excellent, very tasty, large portions. Service was quick and attentive. I highly recommend it. Ill come again.
Great food and staff
Always good food.friendly service
Small plates but real good Chinese food
This restaurant used to be amazing. Over the years, Ive been more disappointed, and now its finally over for me. I dont know if the chefs have changed, but the food is very different. The dishes are lacking compared to just a year ago. The food is now very oily with much less flavor. The heat levels are different. The total size of some of the dishes seem to be smaller over the years, and, now, the size of the pieces themselves are smaller, as if the meat was trimmed from the ends of a cut before they were battered and fried, which was very obvious on some beef dishes. There are so many other restaurants that I havent tried, and now I think I will try some.
Have to agree with Franca s review Something major has changed at this restaurant Food quality is not the same Fried dumplings used to have a lot of meat and very juicy. They are all dried up and hardly any meat. Prices have gone up and quality has gone down
Service was good, fast and efficent. Food was OK but not great, sauces a little off compared to other places Ive been.
Wow has this restaurant gone downhill. We used to eat here all the time but last 2 times we ordered it was so bad that we are never going back. We ordered crispy ginger chicken and instead we got soft saggy burned chicken. It was awful and made me feel sick. The curry beef was terrible and tasteless. The staff were nice though. But the food needs some work but were for sure not eating here ever again.
The quality of food is bad. It used to be good but it is awful now. My recent experience was bad and the food was not good.
AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!! .. First time didnt like but wanted to give them another chance. It was the worst Chinese food I ever tasted. Ordered crispy beef with ginger. It was horrible taste , most likely made a day before and that was like chewing a rubber, not sure if there was meat at all. Rather stay hungry than risk to get sick.
The food at this restaurant is to oily.
Dumpling undercooked, food was bland, would not recommend. How and sour soup was good... Only reason for the two stars. When I brought up complaints to the weight staff her response was everyone has different tastes
Great food. This place has been around for many years. Keep in mind that even the spicy food here is not very spicy for all you authentic looking people.
Excellent tasty food
The staff are friendly and the food is yummylicious
The food was okay. My server Muji did did not seem to happy but he did laugh alot with the cook while staring at me. That made me check my tea pot for somthing. Im never going back.
Perhaps the fastest service on planet earth for a non fast food joint. Literally have to order food in order, like soups first. But that sizzling beef... Oh man. So good.
Pretty good lunch special. $12 with steam rice & soup. Only complaint be to much cornstarch on chicken sometimes. Also need better hot sauce!
The food was OK a lot of onions and green pepper not too much meat. They charge for the container if you want to take home the leftover. This is unacceptable since you paid for the food. The prices have increased. To change for a small container is ridiculous. Unbelievable
Prepares quickly and very tasty! Ill be back for the next batch of noodles
Yummy food
Very good vegetarian dishes are excellent
It was really enjoyable to come with my family today. We will come again. The eggrols were superb! Best ever!!!
Excellent food. Great value. I m a regular
Its been a while to dine in. Price increased without increasing quality of foods. Even taste became worse than before Covid.
Food was delicious!!!!
Great food, quick service.
Great food as always.
I LOVE this place! It is truly a hidden gem! I have been coming here for years. I havent had anything on the menu that I didnt enjoy. The chicken fried rice, ginger beef and green beans are goto dishes for us. Wonderful, friendly staff in a cozy little spot. The place is a little older and does show some of its age, but dont let that stop you from a great meal experience! Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetation options. Parking: The plaza can get a little busy, but Ive never had a problem finding a spot. Wheelchair accessibility: Located on the ground level with direct outside access. A ramp on the sidewalk and through the doors and youre in the dining area. Unfortunately, there is no access to the restrooms downstairs.
Our favorite Chinese restaurant by far.
We went there yesterday first time and I didn t like it. The sizzling ribs was so hard that when you bite it your teeth will crack, it s rock not meat. I won t come back to this place and never ever will I recommend to anyone. Go to Perfect Restaurant, that s the best.
First time in my life I ve ordered Chinese food (for over $100) and I didn t get a fortune cookie. No pick-up discounts on combos or cash orders (another first), combos are only discounted 10% to start. Dinner for 5 will give you 8 small-medium chicken balls; not even enough for each person to have 2. Overall ok but not worth revisiting.
Delicious food. Great service. Parking: Large parking lot.
Needs a bit more salt but the food is very good and I like the beef with mixed vegetables it was sweet and tender
Great
Good food!!!
Really Good Chinese Restaurant. Known about this place for years and have been going here for takeout. Personally I love the General Tao Chicken and the spring rolls. With so many items on the menu it can be really tricky to find something you like. Which may result in disliking yoir experience. The key is finding your favorite and you will enjoy.
Gross noodles are hard as rock
Amazing veggie options. Must try bean curd broccoli tofu.
I did not like the food at all. House noodles were so greasy and tasteless, we did not finish the meal. Orange and General Tao chicken were not better: spicy, but no flavour and cooked in the old oil. Broccoli was mushy and overcooked. The only good thing was the service, unfortunately it is not enough to recommend this place.
Greet food choices for vegetarians
Been a regular customer here for years. Made a large order of 12 dishes for pickup. The pickup was not ready in time (6 hours notice). In addition, a dish was substituted without calling to tell me about the substitution, and when I asked the restaurant to make it right, they did nothing about it. We could not eat the substituted dish due to allergies. I simply asked them to remake the original dish, or offer a credit for the substituted dish, but the answer from the restaurant was we can t do anything and if you don t come back we don t care
Nice people good food.
A true gem
This place has been around forever good food and a bit noisy but you are always going to great food here I had the wonton soup and chicken fried rice and a vegetable dish with cashews so tasty . service is excellent.
Always delicious. I usually have specs for takeout to make it better. This place I never do I just order! Its fantastic!
It was a disappointment anything you order you get in less than 5 minutes like pre-made food. Fast food quality the sizzling beef was terrible lots of fat and a ton of onions. The chilli chicken was ok but again more onions. I will not be going again. No great customer service either waitress was only interest in taking the order and getting you out soonest. Sad this restaurant has been there for years but unfortunately the standard is going down and fast!
Been coming here since I was a kid. The food has always been the best. Highly recommend the crispy ginger chicken, hot spicy peanuts chicken, crispy shredded beef and hot & sour soup.
Worst restaurant in terms of customer service. They are extremely rude and impolite towards their customers and dont do anything to meet their needs and accommodate them. Never ever go there!
