I purchased the "empanada de queso". Food: For the price of 3$, I found them to be a bit small but had a decent amount of cheese, however it was veeeeery salty. The sauce they provide helps neutralize the strong flavours and has a bit of spice. Location: The location is big enough for a couple families to eat there but there is nothing special about the design. They have a large TV to enjoy any games being played. They also have parking available in the shared plaza. Service: Be careful with your bill. I was overcharged and luckily noticed before I paid but the worker didn't even say sorry or anything, just kind of looked at the bill and changed it after I told her. Ultimately, I wouldn't go back for the empanadas.
I ordered on Uber eats on a Sunday sept 5 who ever made the food shout out it was fresh hot and tasty ! Empanada and carne stew plate was amazing
Authentic Ecuadorian cuisine at its best. Great prices
Only place in Toronto to get very good Ecuadorian food! Location, parking and service is so-so. But food was so yummy this is regular comfort food spot!
Great customer service. They made sure our food was delicious and we felt welcome. Food was delicious, beyond my expectations. Totally recommend getting Ecuadorian food here.
Food is excellent. The service could improve slightly. I recommend to anyone looking for latin food.
We ordered two $15 specials + $5 bottle of beer + $5 bowl of beans. I ordered "steak" with rice and salad, which was nothing like a proper steak. It was a super-thin piece of meat measuring about 5mm thick, which got cold right away and was difficult to chew. It was by far one of the worst "steaks" I've ever tried. My wife ordered pork, which was juicy and tasty. However, there was too much non-edible fat, which was a complete waste of money. Modelo bottle of beer was $5. A bowl of beans was $5. To be honest, rice and beans were the best part of my experience at this restaurant. The sauce that comes with beans was so tasty that I couldn't get enough of the beans+rice combination. Unfortunately, though, my overall experience was negative. Plus, that annoying music blasting from the speakers in the middle of the day was too much. I won't be back there. Once was enough.
Tastes like homemade cooking. We received friendly welcome and good service. Our server was from the Dominican Republic. All of us really enjoyed the food and the experience. We would be happy to return here again. The prices are reasonable. The food is top quality. The washrooms are very clean, however, they are located down the stairs in the basement.
The food is good and compared to the price the portions are good, but they need to improve the presentation, they serve the food on broken plates.
I ordered a rice with seafood delivery and my partner a steak, I honestly felt in my little land, very delicious. And the seasoning is like in my city. Excellent
The food was definitely not at par with some other restaurants serving Ecuatoriano food. There are not many but this place has definitely fallen off. Portions were horrible !!! Don t waste your money here. Specially if this is the food you grew up on, because it won t cut it and it s overpriced for what you get.
The fish soup no bad ,but rice with seafood it was disgusted ,it was just rice with green peas and.carrots.,any taste a seafood.
Terrible service in general, no organization
i think this place changed owner because the place is not the same at all. Food was sucky and really bad. Service crappy, waited sooo long for drinks and not to mention food. definitely NOT going back.
I went to have caldo de bolas the plantain ball was rotten I could taste the plantain it was old and bad . The liquid soup was good but not the plantain balls . Also , everything is bad now the pork dish horneado it was sooo bad and old and the humitas was so tiny now . Same for the ceviches sooo smalls and reduced in size literally is not worth it even yo encourage other people to come there . Very disappointed . I wish it could be so improvement but I already gave this place a chance and still the same . If you wanted customer you should improve because when we like the place , we tell other people or we come as a group . I am not coming back at all . I rather mash my plantains and do it myself .
The food is no like years ago ,food is very bad now I you complain to the owner she never have a good explanation
My go-to spot
What a good place for when you miss your homeland. The service could improve.
Bad service, the waitress served us with a super bad attitude. The encebollado without flavor and more water than onion.
Excellent food and service! Very good atmosphere. It was the first time we went and without a doubt, we will return!
The food was good the fritada should had been juicer with more fat but overall food was good, the service however was horrible the person that took our order was what it seemed in a rush she then brought us our food and then we did not see her for the rest of our stay and no one came to us to see if we needed anything else.
The customer service is NOT good and the food is WAY too overpriced for it to taste like microwaved leftovers. do not waste your time coming here
food is not as before, now is very expensive. the ownwer is a correista, she likes the ex president of ecuador who is a narco, maybe she is even laundering money.
Excellent!
Encebollado had almost not taste and its really expensive. Theres better ones for cheaper.
My brother and I ordered 2 humitas and they were a complete scam. The price and quality. No cheese. Honestly what a disappointment. Terrible. I dont know where I got the cheese in the humita.
I ordered 2 HUMITAS with my sister (WHICH DID NOT HAVE CHEESE AND SUPER THIN) WHAT A REAL HORROR, IT IS A SCAM AND SERVING THE GIRL VERY POOR, IT WAS SORRY TO SEE HER FACE. IF YOU DONT WANT TO WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE, DONT DO IT. AND THE TRUTH I WAS THOUGHT OF ORDERING SOME MORE FOOD TO TAKE FOR MY FAMILY. BUT AFTER SEEING THE PRICES WHICH ARE VERY, VERY HIGH, I DECIDED TO ORDER CHINESE FOOD AND IT COOKED LESS AND MORE AND REALLY VERY TASTY, WHICH IS A SHAME THAT THEY ARE NOT FAIR WITH THE PRICES AND THE PORTIONS. THE HUMITA SUPER SUPER FINE. FROM A NORMAL HUMITA I SACK 3 AND NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF CHEESE
The worst service, and the food arrived cold
As an Ecuadorian it pains me to give this place such a poor score. Last time I was here almost 15 years ago, it was a lot better. My shrimp ceviche lacked flavor, too watery. The fritada was very disappointing, poorly made. The humitas werent properly done, too doughy. All in all, overpriced for quality of food.
I enjoyed my dine in when I went. This is comfort food for me and I got the churrasco and one empanada con queso and everything tasted fresh and marinated. Everything was reasonably priced too.
There was a cockroach in the food terrible restaurant the restaurant can put people in danger
Excellent place
Tasty food
They added water to the onion, terrible!! And the attention of the waitress represents the place, they should change her for someone more motivated and energetic, since the lady and the girl always have the face of hating life. So you dont want to go back.
Best empanadas I ever had in my life. Coming back for more for sure. I tried the cheese and the beef, highly recommend.
After not eating for 2 years Ecuadorian food this made me feel like home. I ate guatita and empanada and took seco de chivo for take out. The food was amazing and fresh and the service was very good as well.
Excellent food!
Costumer service I really don have experience
I see many negative messages towards the restaurant. As an Ecuadorian, I do not complain about the food. For me, the food there is delicious and if you want to go eat food like in Ecuador, go ahead because you are in a country that you will not find There are many things from Ecuador here, such as albacore fish, and they are the first ones we will eat many times.
I went on a Saturday at 11:30 am and it was closed :( they should put it on Google Maps that it is closed
Great service and amazing food. Beautiful and clean, low price, great big TV to watch sports... I highly recommend this restaurant.
Best Ecuadorian Food in the 6ix!! No
Service can be greatly improved, the server looks like is part of management as they do not care at all about service. Free advise: Greet the customer and welcome them, they can go somewhere else for the same price range. Talk to them, remember they want to feel like back at home. Usually encebollado Is served with fried plantains (chifles) or popcorn or bread depending on the area you eat it. Never ever serve it alone. Rice is usually yellow rice made with achiote not white rice. Guatita usually has lots of peanuts advise any customer because of allergies. Alcohol: you CANNOT sell alcohol to an intoxicated individual either by alcohol or other herbs, you might lose your license! I doubt the server had her smart serve because this is clearly stated. This was a bitter sweet experience, I might not come back here in the future if I dont see improvement on the following comments, there are more options out there guys.
Their food made me sick, I ordered empanadas and a juice and 1.5 hours later I was feeling sick and was vomitting. Today is the next day and I still feel sick. My second time here, I ordered the first time last year and the food was bland, I got the sancocho and it lacked taste, full of bones almost no meat. I gave it another try and I will never go back again. I would not recommend it. Customer service is lacking, I left her a tip and no thank you or smile.
Really bad service, please people Don t go there
We ordered Uber eats for obvious (covid ) reasons. The goat stew was tasty but full of bones and no meat ($20) . There was just a mountain of rice and goat bones with sauce . Chicken stew was just ok not too tasty and meat was hard ($20) . The empanadas though, where the highlight of the order.
Very good food
I thought the restaurant served great ecuadorian food, especially the Menestra, humitas, maduro, and the empanadas. A few people here are basing their experience on how they expected the dish to be and disregarding the fact that it was tasty. One person mentioned ordering a bisteck which would loosely translate to steak but in Ecuador a bisteck is not what here is considered a steak and as such, its not served as one. Also, a Fritada is supposed to be served with a lot of the fat in the pork. Thats what a fritada is, and thats the juicy part of it. It is not a waste of money, its just how the dish is made and appreciated. Its just a little disappointing to see that people cant even google what an international dish that they have never tasted or seen should be before making a review, or just ask the waiter next time what the dish is gonna be like. At least then if you dont like it, you just know you dont like that dish in particular and not damage the restaurants reputation. Perhaps the restaurant should also better describe their dishes on the menu to avoid confusions from people thinking that theyll get an american style steak in an ecuadorian restaurant.
Great tasting food everything was cooked well I really enjoy coming here to eat
I went there last Monday with my family, we ordered for pick up two whole fishes and carne apanada. The food quality is terrible, everything is leftovers from the previous days, the rice and fish was so bad that just by looking at it you can tell its just terrible and it s smells so bad, Old, dry tasteless rice, Disgusting experience. Never again will I order from this restaurant. I don t recommend this restaurant to anybody, authorities should do something about it.
Very poor service, about 45 minutes waiting no food no snacks no apologies, disaster!!!,
Delicious Ecuadorian dishes
Muy bueno regresare. Very good Ill back
Good food at an affordable taste amazing
Its a nice little place the food is good service is good. Excellent Latin American cuisine
Very friendly and rich flavor in their meals as well as a clean and hygienic place
Bland Columbian rice. Very disappointed. Columbian pattie. Same. Bland. Owners playing it safe?? Dont know.
It has no air, there is no ventilation
The worst! the food is bland ... no flavor and super greasy...... dont eat here unless you want an upset stomach
Bad service
The flavor and the food are delicious but they dont give tortilla or bread!
Food still good...but it was better in the past..it seems like theyve been thru some changes in the kitchen...
The food still good i usex to go to thid place like 20 yrsrs ago snd still standing thats shows you is still poping lol
10/10
Dishes are not worth the price. Too expensive for what you get. Cheaply made generally speaking.
Very bad food, I order a lomo saltado, was too salty and the meat look like at boiled in water, the taste very bad, the rice taste like they made it in rice cooker and then microwaved. And not cheap when compared to other Latin restaurants around the city Never come back.
great staff excellent food nice family atmosphere Food
Place needs urgently to be renovated
Since I visited last the food has improved 100%
If youre a seafood lover, then get their sopa marinera!!
Paraprofessional and elephant and very fantastic.
So Super Delicious
First time trying Ecuadorian food, the food here is amazing. It tastes great and is served in great portions.
Love this food
It was my first time having Ecuadorian food and I was not disappointed. Im now obessed with their empanadas and all the food was absoleutely delicious. I highly recommend!
The flavor is great, but for the price of the soup, it would be worth it if it had more than 2 small pieces of meat.
Food is awesome and people are great also.
Always on point. The real deal home made food.
Absolutely amazing!!!!
Ordered Via uber eats and where to begin. The food quality is terrible and I ordered an encebollado mixto which had mostly yuca pieces, soggy and old shrimp and the tuna fish was as old as my grandfather. Then the Arroz con pollo was so bad that just by looking at it you can tell its just terrible. Old, dry chicken shreds (not even actual chicken pieces), tasteless rice and 3 tiny pieces of plantain. The whole experience cost me $50 ! Never again will i order from this restaurant!!
Excellent attention. Good energy and the best Ecuadorian food Ive had in Canada.
Delicious, authentic and freshly made Latin food! Perfectly, super cold beer ! Friendly service
Amazing food, highly recommended.
Excellent, very happy.
They dont have fresh food. ..
Very good food.
Ordered chicken Stew meal and beef meal. I got home and the chicken stew wasnt stew and had chicken wings, my wifes beef meal had no flavor and more cartlege then beef the beans had the only flavor not even the plantane. I called and spoke to the owner said chicken stew is 2 pieces of chicken (which 2 things like the photo thats not stew) she hung up on me I called back and again Hung up on me again I called back a 3rd time she said I should have speficied what I wanted. I will never go back and dont recommend a latin restaurant with no flavor to their food and stew which isnt stew and a owner who doesnt care about thier customers, should be embarrassed of being a latin restaurant, pura mielda.
I order Ceviche Mixto, Fish, Shrimp, squid. Wasnt cured properly. Wont order from here again.
The food is disgusting i dont recomend any body
Excellent!! Very tasty food
I visit all that time me and my family we loves
I worked for two years in Ecuador. My lunch was authentic and prepared well. I will come back to try other favourites. My first lunch consisted of corn Humitas, then Goat in coriander sauce with rice and plantain. Finished with Figs with cheese and green tea. I tried the hot salsa and it was spicy. Good lunch.
FOOD WAS GREAT
It is difficult to find good Ecuadorian food in Toronto, I have become a permanent customer
If you want to try real Ecuadorian try the beef stew. Fritada was ok
I oredered a chicken soup when i tasted it it lime on it already i thought maybe they just add lime fornyou then it smeeled kinda funky when i started looking through the soup the chicken was yellow and greenish inside it was oviously gone bad. went back to the place the man was rude and came with $9 dollars inpaid 10 plus hst closed the door and went back in...never will i go back or recomend this place
Delicious onion
Very good food, try the seco de chivo or the fried fish. They also make really good ceviche.
Ordered the beef stew to go and avocado salad delicious !
Great Original Ecuadorian food, very tasty
Best cheese empanadas!
LOVING IT.
If you are Ecuadorian, this is probably the best place in Toronto to eat our food. The place might not have the best aesthetics, but this is the closest to authentic ecuadorian food Ive tried so far. They have catering service and special dishes depending on the time of the year.
Very good
Good
Food is amazing truly a taste of Ecuador! Serious is pretty good too!
A restaurant with the three Bs!!!
Good food... Good service!!
The service and food was great, i give a perfect 10
Amazing (fried) empanadas. Gotta try the shrimp ceviche!
Delicious food, there is everything.
Good taste, love the seviche
Great food as always
Fantastic
I was told by waitress it was chicken soup. It was not. Soup not hot. Meat overcooked. Very dry.
Bad attention! The churrasco meat is all hard and greasy, lots of oil! (they were overcooked) I did notice the change in cook!!!
Price and food bad
Excellent food
The food here was extremely good! We ordered a shrimp rice dish with veggies, and Hornado pork. The shrimp were cleaned correctly and very good. The portions were very big for the price! Definitely recommend and will be returning.
The food was very good
Nice authentic e EQUADORIAN food ...decor needs a little updating
Delicious food very clean and friendly staff. Dinner is fresh and delicious
good place
Food was bad, other people were served before us, my boyfriend got his food i didnt. Place is outdated and poorly cleaned. Girls overworked, did their best. Needs management.
On 2 occasions we ordered fish ceviche and they gave us tuna... the worst thing is that the second time we complained and they told us that nooooo it was tuna... why deceive the clientele like that? The first time we let it go, but now a second time? wordless
Food not good no consideration at all I invite my gilfriend from Guatemala to taste Ecuadorian food it was really bad se were waiting long Time and other people just got 20 or 30 minutes after were served before until I complaing about they served my gilfriend plate it taste and it looks terrible, the girls Serving clients, I cant blame them they try their best very bad not good services no consideration for clients
Excellent place to enjoy the delights of our land!
Their food taste really good, almost the same as Ecuadorian dishes. I tried Fritada, Ceviche and Colada Morada, I loved them! Fritada dish is big enough for two. The only problem is the price, I think its expensive.
Delicious food, almost the same taste like home. I ate Hornado and Ceviche and the first one is good for two. The service was not bad but the prices was very expensive. $5 for a cup of Colada Morada?
The food is delicious.
Food was cold, tasteless and probably frozen warmed up in the microwave. Empanadas were good.
Food is decent and I dont regret coming here. But the portions are noticeably smaller over the past couple years. Ya I get it you need to make a profit to keep your business running. May I suggest you just raise the prices instead of cutting back on portion sizes.
I ordered a mix encebollado it was very delicious.... Good job... I eat there before and the food was not good... So make sure you keep this chef
