4150 Yonge St, North York, ON M2P 2C6, Canada
One of North York’s best fine dining restaurants, Auberge du Pommier exudes quiet confidence, reflecting our commitment to culinary excellence and inspired service. Our cuisine is traditional French, with innovative North American influences, and our seasonal menus are elegant and genuine celebrations of fine food. Constructed around the rustic vestiges of two 1860’s woodcutters’ cottages, Auberge du Pommier combines country charm with contemporary sophistication and style. Featuring wood-burning fireplaces in winter and lush, floral terraces in summer, it is a welcoming, refined retreat from the city.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. Food was great and the service was phenomenal. We opted for the tasting menu which was quite a lot of food for us. Both of us enjoyed the lobster tail the most, pasta was very rich, and the duck was cooked to perfection. They are also very good at accommodating dietary restrictions. Great place to go to if you’re looking for a fine dining restaurant to celebrate an event or milestone.
Went to Summerlicious, and the prices were decent, but I felt the options were a bit limited. There were only three choices each for the appetizer, main course, and dessert, but it seemed like only one was popular, so most people ended up ordering the same thing. We made an effort to choose something different, but the less popular fish and dessert we picked didn’t taste as good. I still prefer the regular menu.
Often come here for work dinners. Usually the food is delicious and is consistently at high level for presentation and taste. Came recently where everything was really good. Only issue was the braised short rib was quite dry - among everyone who ordered it. The Venue is great and ideal for work meetings and presentations as well. Parking is underground!
we always hang around downtown restaurants and have not come here for a while. A wonderful surprise to the up side. The place is kept clean and updated, and the culinary skills got more sophisticated. We had the tasting menu, and I am very sure ppl with diverse taste buds will all be able to find sth they like here. Wonderful service and great ambience as always. Will be on my safe list to bring friends over.
We celebrated a birthday, a very romantic place, and sat on the patio on a lovely evening. Divine food, our choice of food was made to perfection. Great service, server was attentive, knowledgeable. They indulge the birthday person with delicious bonbons and mini pastries. Available parking. A bit pricey
We came here for my birthday and ordered the tasting menu. I have allergies to nuts, shellfish and fruit and the chefs/staff were all very accommodating. The food and service were phenomenal. Atmosphere was elegant and romantic. We really loved our experience here. The bread was also amazing!!
If you’re familiar with any of my previous restaurant reviews, you know that my wife and I are firm believers that excellent food means nothing with superior customer service. The reputation of the food at Auberge du Pommier is well established, under the masterful curation and guidance of Chef Solomon Mason, but it’s the service that makes the dining experience truly worthwhile. My wife and I had attended a wedding here last summer and were blown away by the quality and preparation of the food, and the genuine care and attention with which it was presented. So when the opportunity to attend this year’s Summerlicious arose, we jumped at the chance.. The atmosphere is both rustic and elegant at the same time, making you feel as if you’re in a special place designed just for you. For our starter, we both chose the Beef Tartare with hazelnuts, brown butter mayonnaise, and baguette. The flavours were delicate, subtle, but luxurious nonetheless. For our main, we chose the Duck Confit, with Hudson Valley duck cassoulet, lardons, and pearl onions. But before it could arrive, our delightful server, Krista, brought us an additional main to share since we’d mentioned it was our anniversary the following week; the Ricotta Mezzelune pasta dish, with walnuts, arugula, stracciatella, and lemon. It was a beautiful, delicate surprise. Now back to our main, Main: I love duck, but have never had a duck confit before. And if I was ever going to try it, I wanted it done right. And man, was it ever done right. Rich and flavourful meat, with a light, crisp skin that melted in your mouth, leaving only a well-balanced salty goodness. For dessert, we both had the Chocolate Torte, with cocoa nibs and garden mint. Very rich and satisfying. BUT, because my wife had had trouble choosing between that and the Lemon Tart with torched meringue and basil, they also brought us a serving of that to share. It was beautiful to look at, and maybe a bit on the sweet side, but delicious nonetheless. (Perhaps these bonus dishes are all a matter of course for the staff, but for us, they were greatly appreciated.) As I mentioned, as excellent as all the food was, it would have meant nothing without service to match. Not only was Krista extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuine, but I could see the general attention of all the staff to the customers’ needs was of paramount importance. Even when Krista couldn’t attend immediately to our needs, she sent her colleague, Sylvio, to check on us. And he did this not as if it were a burden to be tolerated, but like it was a pleasure to be part of our dining experience. And that’s the key. The entire staff, from Chef Sol right on down, seemed driven by one goal and one goal only: to provide the customer with the best experience possible. And that is what we had. It’s not cheap, and that’s not always a guarantee of quality. But if you ever feel like pushing the boat out for a special occasion, Auberge du Pommier is an experience truly worth having.
Came to try their summerlicious menu. The cream soup was not what I usually like personally but the veal and chocolate cake were absolutely lovely. One thing to note is the staff was just great, everyone was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Their terrace seating is also very pretty. I would highly recommend for a summer date :)
Restaurant that never disappoints you ! I ve been to this restaurant few times and every time some items on menus changed and all came out completely great ! This time we ordered Canard and Steak to share for the main and Tartar, salads ,oysters for the appetizers and don t let me start on their great desserts !! Their service , staff, serving time is very well arranged . This is where I always go back to
Spectacularly succulent food combined with Service Excellence in a Rustically charming Woodcutters Cottage . What more can be said.
Went there with my girlfriend, beautiful restaurant, great service:)
Excellent food 2024 holidays bunch Food : 5/5
The venue boasts a charming rustic elegance, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is exceptional, with staff attentive to every detail and ensuring a pleasant experience. However, while the food is presented beautifully (and have gluten-free options), the flavors are somewhat just ok. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options.
Nice upscale place with great food and service.
My favourite restaurant.
Innovative dishes, but not all of them are tasty, I would say 80% of them are good, but could be better. Services are super, no complain, but atmosphere, meh... too noisy for the price. By the way, please clean your air intake vents, theyre VERY dirty.
Has my birthday here, we loved the service and the food was great. We definitely coming back
Excellent experience and service. The decor is beautiful and elegant. Food is delicious, fresh and filling. We came for my husbands birthday and really enjoyed our time. Thank you!
Lou the manager , made our night extra special by accommodating us under extenuating circumstances that alone, she deserves five stars on top of the food, always being fantastic
Excellent service and food! The duck confit was delicious and crispy, and the boneless beef rib was tender - it just melted like pulled beef! Parking: Lots of parking - only validated during dinner though. $3.50 per half hour otherwise
Went here for a wedding and food was excellent. Service as well. I really enjoyed the beef and the starting soup . Beef was tender and moist. Soup was made perfectly
I really enjoyed coming here. The prices are high and the portions are small, but this is a fancy place so it was to be expected. The milk bread, oysters, chicken and creme brulee were absolutely incredible 10/10, we also got the mezzalune and mashed potatoes which were great 8/10, and the carrots and hamachi cru were good (but not great) 6/10. The server was really nice, but the service was a bit slow. All in all, I would come here again.
I dined at Auberge with a friend last evening. The service was incredible. There are no words to describe how great it was for Esther the manager to check in on us and making us feel well taken care of. Our server was fantastic and the mixologist was so nice to come over and tell us about the drinks we ordered and helped us navigate our next round. The drinks were fab and so was the food. We ordered the beef tartare and the chateaubriand which were both out of this world. The place is gorgeous. Esther explained the history of the restaurant. Oh! Also the chocolate chip soufflé was a special and it was delicious! Such a great experience!
Top notch service, good food.
Went here last year and it was great! Expensive but worth it! Their service was very good and their tenderloin steak was amazing!! Will go back soon! Also their bread and butter is very good, so soft and fluffy!! Food
The food and service are very good but the place is very overpriced. We paid over $600 for two people (tasting menu and a drink)
This restaurant deserves nothing short of 5 stars. From the flavorful food to the fabulous service to the thoughtful wine-pairing to the quietly luxurious ambiance, everything was just so very well done. To experience the choreographed combination is to let oneself indulge in excellence. Also worth mentioning is Elliott, who expertly presented each food and wine along with key ingredients and tasting notes. He was definitely a highlight in the evening, and a strong contributor to the 5 stars. Will be back again. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a wonderful and delicious occasion.
Sorry I asked for a medium steak and got liver burnt liver. YUK
One of my favourite places in the city! Love their green goodness salad and the steak frites! Food
Once again, my husband and I had the best time at Auberge du Pommier. The service is outstanding, the food is a piece of art and the attention to detail is unmatched. We went there to celebrate our civil wedding and ordered the tasting menu. We recommend the wine pairing. Just keep in mind that it will make you feel full faster (and tipsy!) We will absolutely be back.
Unparalleled experience. You might have to use your entire months date budget but worth it
Staffs are well-trained and polite, atmosphere and music are amazingly good. I was on a date night out with myself. Food was mediocre , fixed menu was well garnished, I also had espresso martini which was ok. Its a fancy and expensive restaurant , worth it to try. But dont expect too much. Parking: The underground parking payment is evaluated by the restaurant
Love this place! The staff are amazing and super knowledgeable. Their recommendations were superb. The food is delicious and I mean everything in the menu.
Fantastic French food with Perfectly prepared portions of poulet.
Excellent food and service!
Incredible food! Amazing service! Beautiful atmosphere!
Beautiful soulful atmosphere. Me and my wife absolutely loved dining here. So romantic and even found myself some new wine. Merci to all the staff at this place absolutely top notch foie gras.
A wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, service was great with lots of attention to detail to cater our experience based on dietary restrictions/preferences. Apps, entrées, desserts and drinks were all 10/10. Would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat. appreciate the mocktail options and halal options, i never thought i would be able to go to an authentic french restaurant with options for me. thank you for a great night <3
Very classic place. Loved all servers, super friendly and gave us great explainations on each dishes. Difinitely woupd go back.
Amazing food, ambience, staff and 10/10! Highly recommended! Food
Auberge du Pommier is MY #1 Favourite Restaurant!! I took my mother here on her birthday and she also loves the food, vibe, service.. Also I had my wedding here during Covid. And it was just so classy and very elegant and helped me create my wedding menu etc. they went above and beyond. Everytime I come I never get disappointed it just keeps getting better and better..
Had an unpleasant experience at this restaurant. Food was cold, service was awful, and the manager Ashley was rude to us. Would not recommend.
This place was just divine. Everyone is so friendly from the hosts to the server and the bussers. Parking is underground, just ask them to validate. The place looks like a royal dining room inside but you don t necessarily have to dress your best, business casual is great. The patio looks lovely and is covered as well. The prices are exactly what I d expect for fine dining so won t even comment on that. The portions are alright but very filling, two apps to share and a main for each if 3 ppl is incredibly satisfying. We loved the beef tartare and the duck was just fantastic. The ribeye was cooked well but do wish it was more tasteful. Oysters were perf, dessert was perf, bread was perf so soft. Loved the special touches for our birthday celebration. As expected, wines were great and so were the cocktails. Would definitely return for special occasion. PS the amuse bouche was so good I could have 100
A $10/pp cake cutting fee? More importantly, what percentage of this cutting fee goes to the servers and kitchen staff? I brought the cake myself and the staff who cuts it and enhance my experience will get a nice tip, so why is it okay for the restaurant to pocket this money?
Came for summerlicious with my two friends and the food was quite decent for the price - two pieces of feedback: Too many servers asking you if you are done with your plate at once, at one point 4 people asked back to back. I was taking my time but felt rushed. Secondly, the panna cotta contained alcohol and was not communicated so my friend got sick during the meal.
Very good experience, I left my wallet and the staff brought it to me
What a great lunch experience! Thank you!
Pop-corn tarte 12/10 perfect. Our server Elliott was the best hoast ever. Management if you reading this give Elliott a raise his worth it Food : 4/5
Looking for a elegant and 5 star experience? Look no further!!! We celebrated our anniversary here and it was all around perfect! The food was wonderful, service was french service and the ambiance was exceptional.
When I m in the mood to be transported to France, Auberge du Pommier is where I go! During the warm months, the patio is the place to be. The wonderful sound of the water fountain, surrounded by trees, gardens, flowers, all one needs to top that off is a glass of wine or bubbly! Pictures are of my latest visit for Summerlicious. The Vichyssoise soup was so refreshing on the warm summer day, chilled leek and potato soup was silky. The Beef Tartare was ok, it could have been more flavourful. Trout was perfect for the person who prefers lighter dishes the yuzu kosho perfectly highlighted the trout. Classic Duck confit was perfect for the person who preferred a heartier plate. Our favourite was dessert. Lemon tart was gorgeously balanced in the sweetness to lemon, the crust was amazing. The torte is definitely for the chocolate lover, dark deep chocolate, perfectly sweet, leaves you wanting more. Paid parking onsite. Vegetarian options available. Service is the best of the best here. From the moment you are greeted you are treated like VIP. Vegetarian options: Plenty of creative seasonal vegetarian options
Very mediocre food despite good service. Bread is a little doughy; foie gras is rather small and lacks aesthetics in plating; sea bream is not tender and skin is not crispy, the green sauce is plain and contains some random vegetables and is weirdly warm; beef short rib is salty outside and dry, does not taste like made fresh daily. The crème brûlée is the only one roughly matches expectation but disappointing that no art writing for lunch. Decoration is nice but not as nice as some reviews described. Regret for choosing this place for celebration.
Came here for summerlicious. They had a different menu from their a la cart. I think the food might not have been as good as their regular menu. However, all the servers were very professional, attentive, and friendly. As well, the outdoor seating area was very pretty. Would definitely come back for their regular menu.
Pricey, but well worth a visit on very special occasions.
Simply amazing. Love the restaurant
Great service, vibe and food. Good place for a romantic dinner date!
Hurts me to put a 2 stars as I love this place. We got married there 5 years ago and wanted to celebrate our 5 years anniversary for a dinner there. We booked weeks in advance and advised that it was for a special occasion. When we arrived and got to our table, had dinner, no attention was given to that regard. We had to mention it again to our waiter. A glass of champagne, dessert or just even a small hand written note would have been a nice touch but they missed out. And it s something that I d expect when I come to a high end restaurant. They missed the mark. It s too bad because our waiter was very friendly, service otherwise was excellent and the food was very good. Attention to detail is everything and they failed on that important day for us. Hopefully something will be done for our 10th anniversary.
Definitely, a fine dining experience. Michelin or not, this restaurant remains in the very top.
If I could I would give them 6 stars. A peaceful and quiet place in the middle of the city. Wonderful food, everything is home made by highly skilled chef and staff. A very premium and gastronomical place. Wonderful wine cellar and sommelier too. Worth the price. Vegetarian options: The chef will make the dish that meets your diet restrictions and preferences. Just ask. Parking: Underground parking. Restaurant will cover the cost, just show them your ticket.
Good food and service. Nice atmosphere, but parking meter not working, a bit worry if Ill get a parking ticket while eating.
Lovely restaurant as always
Service is good, atmosphere is OK, but the food is definitely not worth the money. Spent 380 bucks for 2 people, all the 4 courses dishes taste ordinary (if not awful) as if they come from a single 30-buck-per-person restaurant.
Been here a few times. Did Summerlicious lunch for my husband s bday. Food isn t as good as it used to be. Portions are tiny which is expected but you d also expect better quality food. The bread was HARD to the point you were scared to break a tooth. Beef tartare was alright but one piece had a thick vein which was off-putting. The chilled soup was bland. Duck confit came with some random beans as a side and was not great. Chocolate torte was dry, not as moist or rich as expected. The service was friendly as usual, but they didn t do anything (not even a candle on his dessert) even though I reminded the hostess that it was a bday celebration. They did a candle and extra dessert for the table next to us (also celebrating a bday). Don t think I ll be going back. Also what happened to the dress code here? Why are people allowed to walk in wearing gym clothes? It ruins the atmosphere.
Overall experience is great. We ordered summerlicious and add some on our own. For appetizers, Foie Gras added on would be the best, Escargot is tasty but favour too strong. Beef tartare is great. Main I ordered Veal and really great, perfect medium rare. My friend have the salmon and unfortunately that s too salty. Another friend order outside of summerlicious, she had Hudson Valley Canard, you are going to love the duck meat if you are a fan of sweet and sour. The desserts are okay but not shining. I ordered Pina Colada as drink, and I loved it! They will not issue a parking ticket if you are having summerlicious, I am okay with that but I do expect to be told ahead. Overall a great experience and I will definitely come up next time.
Summerlicious menu. Great good, environment and service. Parking is not reimbursed for lunch. Food
Nice French restaurant in the heart of the city. I enjoyed the patio atmosphere, it seemed to be liked by lot of Asian customers. I love the salad, but both of the fish dishes were not the best.
The service was phenomenal. The summerlicious menu was alright.
Great birthday at Auberge private room!
We married at AuBerge 10 years ago so went back for the 10-year anniversary. The place is as beautiful and tranquil as I remembered. The terrace is still beautiful and reminded me the happy wedding day. We tried the summerlicious menu. Every course is delicious. Granted beef tartar is smaller than a la carte menu but it is expected. King Salmon is huge though, and chocolate torte is very good size too. The servers are also very friendly. We had a great evening.
We liked the vibe and the food presentation but they charged us an extra $100, glad we found out and they gave us a refund, Ialso hoped they would come and help us refill some water but I guess they were busy The food was pricey and very average, I didn t like the soup and the duck confit was not well seasoned. Quite disappointing Appetiser: 6.5/10 Main course: 7/10 Dessert: 8/10 @aubergedupommier
Went here for summerlicious. It was a great restaurant and the terrace atmosphere is lovely. The staff allowed us to stay for many hours and catch up rather than limit the time. Beautiful atmosphere and venue.
This place has a wonderful vibe. Brings you back to Paris. Nestled in the city, that is a magical feat. Food was par for the course, and service was attentive.
Still one of the best places to dine in Toronto. Food was spectacular, service was prompt and impeccable and the atmosphere is warm, inviting and not too loud. One of our favorites and we will go back many times.
Great service and atmosphere. Cocktails, Chateaubriand, foie gras amuse gueule, Vancouver jumbo shrimp and desserts were great. Escargots were a bit too salty and the cod fell short of my expectations. It was a great experience overall, but I hope they will add more choices for starters and mains in the future.
Super attentive service, well executed dishes and a good intimate atmosphere for a great night out. One of the best fine dining experiences north of the city
We had delicious food, excellent service and wonderful garden experience.
Amazing in every way!
Celebrated my 7 year anniversary today and realize we ve been here for almost every life milestone. The service, food and consistency of quality makes this a true gem. New Reno is great and the patio is lovely. Thanks to the entire crew for making this a special place for us.
I really enjoyed the experience and the waiter was excellent! Parking: Parking was about $20 IIRC Food : 5/5 |
My wife and I visited Auberge de Pommier today and had a fantastic time. The garden ambiance was breathtaking, making us feel like we were in the Mediterranean. I ordered the prix fixe menu and had the soup of the day and steak, while my wife enjoyed a salad and duck confit. The food was exceptional, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend visiting the restaurant during lunch hours for drinks or a delicious meal.
YOU ARE BUYING A DINING EXPERIENCE . There is an abundance of expertly trained staff . They could not be more personable . Your service seems to be choreographed from the instant you arrive through each course til they bid you a fond farewell . You will Enjoy it . The food is tasty , wonderfully displayed on large plates . The only problem was the portions . They are SMALL . If you are a hearty eater youd best have a lot of appetizers or you will be going home hungry , even after dessert . Be forewarned - The Prices are very high . $100 + per person without alcohol . Washrooms are downstairs . Many stairs !
We went there for my friend s birthday and couldn t wish for a better and friendlier service. They were absolutely amazing. The food was flawless and we got recommended for most of the items and none of them failed our expectations. Food
I had the pleasure of working as a vendor for a wedding hosted at Auberge Pommier this past weekend, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very accommodating and professional. The coordination and communication with us as vendors were seamless, making our job much easier and more enjoyable. A special thank you to Ashley, the Assistant General Manager and the staff for their exceptional organization and support throughout the event. I highly recommend Auberge Pommier for any event. I look forward to working with them again in the future!
I usually don t leave reviews but the whole dining experience was perfect! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is impeccable. The seasoning is just right yet full of rich flavours. We had the risotto and the lamb special for the day and they both exceeded our expectations! The weather is nice so the patio is warm with some breeze. I would definitely come back! One of the best dining experiences I have had in Toronto.
A special place for our family. Always top notch please bring the dogs back.. Kid-friendliness: Make sure your kids of an age when they can sit and enjoy the meal for 1-2hrs Food : 5/5 |
Food was great. We had the tasting menu and it was all delicious. Andrew was our waiter and he was excellent! The patio outside was also beautiful with the greenery. Highly recommend even though it s on the pricier side.
We had a lovely anniversary lunch here. The servers are attentive and hospitable and the food is excellent. The prefixe menu is a nice value. The only surprise that slightly marred our otherwise pleasant experience was finding some pinfeathers still protruding from my duck confit. I happened to have tweezers in my purse to take care of it, and the dish was otherwise well-composed but it was surprising that the chef and server both overlooked that detail. I found the elderflower gelée on the crème brûlée to be a lovely touch and appreciated the anniversary message for us on the plate. We may come again for a special occasion when were in town.
Had the tasting menu, and was amazing. Everything was cooked well and seasoned beautifully, and each dish was presented and explained in detail concisely (risotto was my favorite, and the bisque a close second). Service was great, and the restaurant was beautiful. Will come again.
The service was excellent, creating a pleasant atmosphere for celebrating a birthday. While the food was good overall, it didnt quite meet expectations given the price point.
This place is fantastic i really like the everything of the starting specially the foie gras terrine with the toast bread . And for the main dishes i l like my little Joe add foie gras ontop very tender. I heard about the canard everyone mentioned it is amazing on the insta page then i give it a tried. We asked for medium rare.cause thats the most popular meat level of the duck beast. Can still taste the meat fiber.it was too raw for us ..maybe should get it well done. More like crispy ..but over all still amazing..And our lovely server Walter is great
Beautiful
It has been a very long time since I had visited Auberge du Pommier; however, the culinary experience, the amazing customer service, the delicious food, and the wonderful ambience that I had encountered, was unforgettable!
This has been my favourite restaurant for years The food and service is top notch, and they change their menu as seasons change so theres always something new to try. Yes it can be pricey, but I recommend giving them a visit during Summerlicious and Winterlicious for a delicious set menu at a lower price. The quality is amazing as always.
If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of dining in a French restaurant, I highly recommend coming here. The dining atmosphere is very good, the service staff are very professional, and they can also recommend delicious meals to you. Don t miss the foie gras and grilled snails, and pâtés & steak are also available. level
We wanted to try Auberge for some time and went there to celebrate my birthday. We very much liked the experience, food, service and ambiance. We had salad deeese, rib eye steak with mashed potatoes and Paris Brest and Mille feuilles for desert. Also tried Ume martini which was delicious. There was also pain au lait which was very delicious. I liked that they managed to cook my steak to perfection without burning it or making it chewy!! Had a lovely evening and really enjoyed the service and food
One of Torontos best. French at its finest with a beautiful setting in the middle of the city. The menu is filled with traditional items like seak tartar, duck, and much more. Incredible wine selection from a house red to incredible vintages. Service here is on point with personal attention but a personal feel. The staff here make you feel like you are a home and want to make you happy. The experience here is so enjoyable its not just a meal. Parking: Park underground.
This is the first fine dining restaurant that Ive seen in Toronto, where ALL staff are friendly and welcoming from the beginning until the end of your experience. We had a great night and superb customer service by Walter and Elliot, who were with us throughout the dinner and tea time. Not to mention the wonderful sommelier who guided us with the wine selection. Great job everyone, you all should be having your own restaurants one day!
To be honest, the main course was mediocre, but the oysters were very fresh and delicious, and the desserts were amazing, and the service was very warm and attentive, so Id give it five stars.
Very kind staff and services
I have wanted to try Auberge du Pommier for a while and finally went there to celebrate my husbands birthday. The patio dining area was lovely. The service was exceptional - everyone was attentive, friendly and downright fantastic. The food was good but it didnt blow my mind the way I thought it would. I went in with very high expectations as my friend has raved about this place for years. Overall, we had a nice experience and I am glad we tried this place out.
Great food and atmosphere
2 person i paid 700ish crazyy
We had a great experience! The waiter Andrew was awesome! The food was fresh and delicious! We paid $275 with taxes and tips for 2 appetizers, 2 entrées, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. They also brought a small appetizer and petit fours so we could try
Amazing food and service by Michael! Will definitely be back
I had the great pleasure of being taken care of by Jeff and the wonderful staff. They were very attentive and very hospitable and my water glass was never empty. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic which was perfect for a birthday dinner. The food was very presentable but do not judge it solely on appearances. Even the accompaniments such as asparagus were absolutely delicious. I am going to save this restaurant for very special events. Thank you everyone for that delightful evening.
Love the foie gras
We enjoyed the spectacular French cuisine here on our anniversary. The rustic decor, the fresh food and the fantastic service made it all a memorable night for us.
One of the best meals I ve had in Toronto. Everything was perfect. The cocktails, the wine, the service, the FOOD. Just exceptional in every way. MUST come back here for a birthday or anniversary dinner.
My wife and I had a terrific experience at the restaurant this past Saturday. Starting with the service, it was outstanding, we had a very knowledgeable waiter, and he spoke so highly of his favourite dishes. You know you have a great spot when even the Pain au Lait (bread and butter) stands out, it was amazing...almost desert like. It was that kind of night, no weaknesses in any dishes (escargot, heirloom tomato salad, salmon, ricotta stuffed pasta). The ambiance is very warm and you feel like youre on a mini getaway/european getaway in the dining room. Memorable night! We returned again for my birthday last week. Auberge is such a great celebratory venue. Out wait staff was so attentive, Elliot really made us comfortable and was available for all our needs, he checked in on how our meal was regularly (but did not overdo it). The chef staff must be recognized too, the dishes served were timely and creatively assembled, not to mention extremely delicious. We will be back :)
We went for lunch and had the foie gras Terrine, pain au lait, steak frites, risotto and Paris Brest for dessert. Overall, food was delicious. Atmosphere was nice, the service was a bit lacking for the price point and perceived ambiance though.
Loved the ambience, fine food , nice service
Extremely refined and quite complicated food with French techniques. Im glad I tried it out and got as much as I did but probably would not try again. Amazing service and atmosphere.
Auberge du Pommier is an Oliver & Bonacini mainstay for French fine dining. Its been around since the 1980s but the building is far older, largely built around two cottages dating back to the 1860s. Its probably often described in ad copy as having rustic charm, and frankly thats an accurate assessment. Theres literally white glove service - this is the sort of restaurant you would consider for making a marriage proposal (I considered it!) or as a wedding venue. We went for a date night, taking advantage of an O&B gift card I bought on Black Friday. Even then, it was expensive - this is the definitely a place to splurge a bit and treat yourself. We had the Bread & Butter, Salade Déesse, Beef Tartare, Hudson Valley Canard, Asparagus, Fork-Mashed Potato (i.e. Pommes de Terre à la Fourchette), and espressos for dessert. Ill describe each dish in turn. The bread was delightfully warm and soft, and the cured butter was outstanding. Im not going to belabor the point - its bread and butter - but it was executed at the highest level. Along with the bread and butter we were given an amuse bouche (gratis) that was essentially a cheese tart. It didnt have much flavour but was a pleasant start to the meal. The Salade Déesse was comprised of lettuce leaves stuffed with avocado, topped with dill and cilantro, and dressed in a lemony vinaigrette. It was really tasty: I love the idea of adding dill to what are otherwise conventional taco ingredients. Ill probably be making homemade iterations of this dish for months/years to come. In terms of the beef tartare, I sometimes find that restaurants will go overboard with bold flavours, perhaps to distract from lower quality meat, but fortunately that was not the case here. Some Dijon mustard and greens on top rounded out the dish nicely, but the beef shines through. The asparagus was essentially the perfect texture, whereas I often find it too firm or soft. The mashed potatoes were also good. Both dishes were well-executed but conventional (which, to be honest, is basically the O&B modus operandi) The Hudson Valley Canard was easily the standout dish of the meal and is one of the best duck dishes Ive ever eaten. It was outstanding, I cant recommend it highly enough. The duck was really succulent, and the orange and candied citrus (!) added such an interesting complementary flavour. We were almost licking the plate we enjoyed it so much. Lastly, we ordered espressos for dessert and were given complimentary cookies and fudge. Both were pleasant and went well with the espressos. Overall, Auberge du Pommier is a beautiful restaurant to enjoy well-executed (albeit not especially inventive) French fine dining for a special occasion.
The high ratings this place gets is well deserved. Amazing service, Excellent ambience. Great food. What more can you ask for? Obviously this is a fine dining establishment and they have been here a very long time. All of the dishes were fabulous and our table of seven all enjoyed the evening out. Not one complaint. Come here for your special occasions!
Weve been here a few times but yesterday was by far the best experience. The food also seems to have improved quite a bit within the last year.
This restaurant is considered as fine dining and their food was good overall, but I found that each item slightly missed its mark. The flavours were unbalanced and the fish was overcooked, which I would be a lot more lenient of, if they weren t trying to be such a high end establishment and charging the amount that they are. The ambience of the restaurant was very nice and the service is fantastic, we asked to be moved to a different table closer to the fire and they accommodated that very quickly. I would come back again, but I do wish that there could have been a little more care put into the food at that price point.
Simply amazing
The food and service here is always top notch. The staff have been well trained and always courteous. The food is always flavourful, juicy and never overcooked. This is a great place for a date night or even hosting a party as they have private rooms. Tip: park underground and the front door staff will validate your ticket when you dine here.
A great place for a special occasion. Service is excellent. Dont skip dessert
The restaurant had great ambiance. Food was delicious. Service was courteous.
Impeccable is the only word that can be used. Everything from the service to the food was perfect. The attention to detail is not lost on us, and it was one of the best meals Ive ever had! Ill absolutely be back.
It used to be one of my go to restaurant before covid, but I m not sure if there s a change of owner or not. The food is NO LONGER up to the standard for fine dining. I ordered a Cornish chicken for a lunch, the chicken is dry. It also sits on a huge pile of mashed potato, which is more American than French. And they stick some sprouts on the mash potato s. It s a pity. One less good restaurant in Toronto .
The exterior of this restaurant belies the cozy and beautiful interior. The menu tends toward simply prepared dishes mostly featuring a protein. Its somewhat lacking in inspiration from such a fine dining kitchen for me. We had the fois gras parfait to start. It was good but nothing special. There was something in the acid component that tasted too sharp and tipped it off balance. The waffles were too sweet and didnt add anything to the foie gras except to be vehicles for it. The duck breast was roasted perfectly. It was rare and the bold flavour of the duck came through. The grilled sea bream was beautifully presented, with nice charcoal flavour. It was too cooked for my preference but was not too dry. Unfortunately I had to spit out a dozen bones and found a couple sections of spine. In a restaurant of this caliber this is a crime. The crispy cauliflower side dish was my favourite of the meal. The lime shone through and made it light and fun. For dessert we had chocolate torte - too heavy for my taste - and Paris brest. The choux was much too crisp and therefore felt dense. The praline in between was delicious, rich in hazelnut and in mouth feel. I was happy to see a generous amount of it. Overall I was glad we finally visited this landmark restaurant but at this high end price point, Ive had better executed meals from more creative menus.
Come and try the Valentine s Day tasting menu which tastes great The menu is very sincere The wine list is also very sincere. I drank vintage champagne and 40-year-old port wine The waiter also enthusiastically showed us the utensils for opening the port wine. really great Vegetarian options: Vegetarian food available Dietary restrictions: Will ask about dietary restrictions Parking: Underground parking lot, remember to give your ticket to the front desk
What can I say that everyone hasnt already said.. This is up scale dining at its best. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were easy to talk to and gave many good recommendations. Cant wait to return for another the next special occasion.
Lovely and quaint French restaurant with amazing food and even more amazing service! This is my go-to for all of my special occasions. Always reliable for a great time here!
Outstanding in every way
Delightful dining experience. Would definitely return.
Foie gras was the absolute best! Soft and velvety in my mouth. We requested the patio and it was very pleasant and big controlled! Which is very rare when seated in a beautiful garden view. Food : 5/5
It was a classic atmosphere restaurant serving authentic French cuisine. The ambiance and service were excellent, and everything we ate was so good, but I was especially satisfied with the soufflé for dessert. It was a classic restaurant with delicious French cuisine. I recently had lunch at Auberge du Pommier and everything was lovely! The only criticism I have is that we didn t order bread with our meal, although when it came it was warm and delicious! This may seem like a trivial point given our bill was over $200, however I was surprised that we were charged $14 for the very small loaf of bread which we didn t ask for it. Otherwise the meal was great and the service was impeccable!
Excellent spot! Fantastic service, great food and beautiful surroundings
A truly delightful culinary adventure! While the truffle soup was slightly overpowering, the staffs professionalism, kindness, and courtesy shone through. This unique and enjoyable experience is one to remember.
I am very happy to dine here before Christmas Eve. The atmosphere here is very good and it is suitable for dining at any festival. This meal should be a set menu for the Christmas celebration. The meals are rich and creative, but there are only a few dishes. The taste is a little salty, but its acceptable. The desserts are delicious and the coffee is a bit light. Every waiter here is very professional and enthusiastic about serving. Ill have a pleasant meal. Ill visit again next time.
we went to a office farewell party. The ambiance and service was excellent. It was french cuisine
I rarely leave reviews, but there s no way I could not give a shout out to all the great people that made our night! Thank you Andrew and company! You guys are awesome. Anyone looking to visit France for the evening should book a rezo immediately! Thank you! See you soon! S&E
We wen to Auberge du Pommier for our Anniversary dinner. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly. The service was overall very nice and we a had pleasant experience. The food was great and it really showcased authentic French cuisine. We also did a wine pairing which was a great idea. I recommend to visit this place for a cozy and special data night.
An absolute Toronto classic. If you have been, you have been repeatedly. If you havent been, you dont know what you have been missing. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Great tasting food and high end service. Highly recommend!
Excellent in all aspects - food, service, atmosphere. Expensive but worth the $ if youre looking for a top notch dining experience. So rare to find a restaurant that still does it right. Well done!
Such a pleasant experience every time with delicious food, great staff, and an excellent atmosphere.
Elegant, sophisticated but not stuffy. Outstanding food and a convenient location.
Parking: They validate your parking if you park underground Food
Overall fair experience but expected better flavors on the food items
Celebrated my birthday there. Amazing food and service. Parking: Bring the ticket to the restaurant- they will validate the ticket for you Food : 5/5 |
It s unbelievable that the waiter spilled drinks on us as soon as we sat down! The restaurant has a nice environment.
Beautiful garden restaurant with elegant interior design and romantic ambiance. Perfect for dates and celebrations. Private and quiet dining environments. Dishes are beautifully presented and decent.
We had our wedding here last year and loved the food so decided to come back to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately, the food this time was very disappointing. We had the beef tartar and bread as starter and then the pork and lamb chop. The bread was probably the best thing we had, followed by the tartar. The lamb chop came in quite rare but it was fine, needed some salt. The lamb belly that came with the dish was very very gamey, if you like that taste, this might be for you. The pork was the most disappointing dish, it s very thin and dry, and the sauce didn t seem to mix well with the dish. We skipped dessert to avoid getting more disappointed. Plating was nice and the service was good, but not sure if the entree was worth $56 each. Not a big deal but also no special mention or congrats about our anniversary even though we noted it in our reservation.
We were here August of 2022 and were blown away by the food. This time, we had the bread+butter, beef taretare, halibut and beef rib cap steak were disappointed by pretty much every dish. Service was great. bread+butter: The only thing we liked beef taretare: honestly tasted like a big mac... very disappointed given this was our favourite dish last year halibut: very very salty.. beef rib cap steak: it was ok. again, very salty. asked for medium rare and probably got a well done steak
I had my wedding here in September. It was so beautiful and staffs were super amazing. Guests complimented about foods, saying it was the best they ever had in weddings. Event specialist was Josephine, very helpful and replies really fast. Thank you so much for the beautiful memory. It was one of the best decision I made to have my wedding at Auberge du Pommier.
Excellent ambiance, service, and food. Brought my friend here for her birthday and very much enjoyed the night. Its been a few years since Ive been here and the tasting menu has been refreshed with their new executive chef. Our fav would have been their milk buns and delicious. The bread was so good we ordered extra to go. Remember to park underground and theyll validate parking at the door.
The best French restaurant ever in GTA. Our family celebrate all the special moments here, never disappointed.
My experience at Auberge du Pommier has been impeccable both times when I visited, first time being in Summer 2015 with family & friends; and recently on October 26, 2023 with my Dad. This particular recent experience was an emotional one for me because I reconnected with my dad in Toronto, after 5 months. Chef Solomon Mason and his team and the front of the house staff put in immense effort to make the experience memorable for me starting with the wonderfully prepared flavourful fish dishes we ordered (B.C. Salmon and the Sea Bream), followed by the artfully created creme brûlée, which my dad and I shared. I will always look back to this day as one of the most precious moments of my life. And Auberge du Pommier- you never fail to impress me with your ambience and flavour palette. The restaurant deserves a Michelin star.
Perfect in every way.
Brought some of my clients here for dinner. We did the tasting menu for 6 people. They were able to accomodate for 1 vegetarian tasting menu. 4 of us did the wine pairings. The service was great, the atmosphere was pretty good, but honestly, the food was mediocre for the price. Not saying it was bad, but expected more. Scallops were a bit fishy, as with the salmon, and the skin wasnt as crispy as you would hope. My wife subbed her salmon for halibut and we all wish we had done the same. Some other things we noticed on other courses and the desert wine pairing was undrinkable. I will say the duck was amazing. At almost 2k with tax & tip for 6 people I think we have the right to be picky / critical. There are lots of other options in my opinion if you have money to spend. Luckily the atmosphere was good and I think the wine pairings helped us look past most of these issues, so we still had a good time. I dont think I would eat here again though to be quite honest. We came here because its rhe same owners as Canoe and we had a great experience there but I dont think they are comparable. I would go back to Canoe for sure.
Good
This restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. Went here for Valentine s Day and it was beautiful, the atmosphere with statues, and the menu was very well done! Food
Attended a wedding here. Overall nice and cozy restaurant. Food on the salty side but services are great. Parking underground with stairs right outside the entrance
Amazing experience! I went yesterday for my anniversary and we order the tasting menu. The food was good, and the service was terrific! they are the best staff on all Toronto, you can notice that they received a very good training and they have a huge knowledge on the plates and wines.
a bit expensive but extremely worth it for the food quality and taste. loved every bite
Food was succulent and very well paired with the wine. We had wine pairing along with the tasting menu. Service was impeccable. Looking forward to going again as weve booked a corporate dinner there. The canapés were delicious and left us wanting more! Wild-caught salmon was perfectly cooked, melted in our mouths with perfectly seared crispy skin and beautiful color on the inside. Id definitely go there again to dine in.
Amazing atmosphere & service. Delicious food as well. Recommended! Toronto classic for fine dining.
Authentic French cuisine and great service.
Food was amazing and service is beyond amazing.
Service is excellent. Food is good.
It started off with a warm and welcoming greeting from staff along with an incredible atmosphere. My waiter was Walter, a kind and knowledgeable person, recommended what wines go good with my food. Appetizer: I had the escargot to start along with bread & butter and wine, which was an explosion of flavour. Snails taste like cooked mushrooms if anyone wants to know the texture of it. Chef also gave an amuse bush! Entree: I ordered the rib cap, it s 5oz of heaven on a plate! Cooked and seasoned to perfection. I paired it with red wine and it did satisfy me. Dessert: after all the food, I was stuffed but could not miss out on desert so Walter brought me two small chocolates that went well with the rest of the wine. I went alone and would go again but with another person. Around $250 per person if you re wondering. Thank you Auberge du Pommier for this incredible experience! 10/10, will come again and recommend to others. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for people with allergies and dietary restrictions. Dietary restrictions: Please let them know in advance for any allergies or dietary restrictions. Parking: I didn t park but know they have parking. Kid-friendliness: Saw family s there with kids.
Easy 5 stars for a special evening and excellent cuisine. Sommelier was very attentive.
Parking: Restaurant validates parking in the underground garage Food
Nice ambiance, excellent service, delicious food Vegetarian options: Limited, but delicious, vegetarian options. Not suitable for vegans.
There is a reason it has been open for decades. They keep things fresh and interesting. Exceptional service. One of the best French restaurants in the country!! Highly recommended for any special occasion!
Just had a dinner meeting here and it was fantastic. The service is amazing and consistent amongst the whole team at this fine dining cozy restaurant. Water constantly filled, ice refilled, chairs pulled out for you, napkins laid across you and the list can go on. Would highly recommend. AMAZING soufflé. Make sure to order it when ordering the mains. This needs time to prepare and has to be served hot out of the oven.
Incredible food and service. The attention to detail was unparalleled and waiter was top tier. Highly recommend. Ps. Waiters camera skills were perfection lol thanks for a wonderful night
Prestigious french restaurant in Toronto. Warm country style setting inside middle town business building, professional service and hospitality. Hi cuisine with nice wine selection. Pleasant fine dine experience.
Sundays Christmas luncheon with my family was wonderful. Warm, very friendly & excellent service by all staff including the two young ladies at the front reception. Auberge du Pommier has always been my #1 for superb dining.
Thank you for everything. Everyone had a great time and raved about the food, service and decor. You and Auberge truly made my wifes birthday one to remember. One of our friends texted, Thanks for a wonderful dinner last night! The ambiance, food, drinks, service and of course company were beyond perfect . The canapés were soo delicious, and all of our favourites. And the servers were so attentive, they kept refilling our glasses. I m scared to ask how many bottles we polished off . The presentation and taste are always incredible at Auberge. Such a treat! Happy Birthday Lisa Our next event we will be going back to Auberge.
