The Home Cheeseburger was THE BEST burger I ve ever had next to the burger from Square Boys definitely have to come back and get some for the fam and the fries and the JA sauce and the chipotle sauce was GREAT 5/5 Stars for sure!

We got the home banquet burger and the village home burger. They have good food. I didn t really taste the bacon on the home banquet burger but the village home burger was flavourful. The place was clean and they only do take-out. Would have been nice if they had tables for dine-in.

Ive eaten at the Mississauga location (now closed) and it was less than soso at best. Maybe that is why they closed down. Had the Home Burger here at the VP location several months ago, absolutely outstanding. No one, thats no one can put this JA burger in comparison to Johnnys. Johnnys might be more famous, but JA does burgers the way they should be done. Ill be in the area this coming Monday, so put a couple Home Burgers on the grill.

Decent food and good portions for the money. They make a decent milk shake as well.

We ordered 2 double smash banquet combos. This would be a 5 Star review if the fries were cooked more. That s literally my only complaint. The smash burgers were awesome. The Gravy was really good and thick. 15 dollars for the combo was a good price. Overall I m extremely happy. I d just suggest crisping the fries up is all. The chefs were very friendly. Thanks for everything.

I am literally still eating my burger and had to leave a review! Very important now a days! I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and saw new people , new look , new menue! New EVERYTHING!!! This place has to stay because we need a good food place like this in the neighborhood! Staff extremely friendly and food extremely DELICIOUS and filling! And the fresh food did not take long! I am So excited that I decided to take a chance on John Andersons and walked in to a GEM ! Felt like old JA from years years back but a brand new feel !!! Awesome experience through and through !

Total dissatisfaction burgers patty were not tasty at all not any smoked yummy flavour bun were old and cracked we were not even asked how we want our burgers plus they give us leftovers of French fries it was take out order and we are very disappointed with this business we pay 25 dollars

Havent eaten here in almost 20 years... new owners/management is doing an ok job. Ordered (4x of everything.) some HomeBurgers .. Home fries.. and onion rings .. Although the burger was awesome... the fries were ok but not what I ordered (discovered this when I got home) which were regular fries .. the onion rings were greasy and some looked/tasted like they were refried. Overall the burgers were Great! Service staff were friendly and helpful .. probably some communication issues on my order with the cook. I dunno.. I hope the shortcomings wont be repeated on my next visit .. I want to givem a stellar review. Bon appetit ... Update . . Regarding the home fries I was initially looking at a different menu other than the one linked to the locations website ... heres a snapshot of the one I was looking at (stated breakfast home fries) my mistake. What can I say? This is the perfect burger joint. Have been coming here for ages and it has always exceeded expectations. Friendly and outgoing staff, classic off-the-grill fare with generous portions, agreeable prices and very easy to access. Just come here. Youre not going to regret it.

Perfect For when youre craving a good burger

Hi . It s been the best place for me and all my friends to go whenever we want to eat out even when we have to drive for an hour. Burger and steak taste phenomenally good. I suggest homemade burger which honestly is the best burger I ve ever had. Staff are also super friendly and cool. Keep up the amazing work guys.

Had lunch at the restaurant today. Ordered the large Greek salad with chicken breast and a pita. The order was made fresh and fairly quick. Food was hot and tasty. The chicken breast still had some cartilage in 2 of my pieces, that s why I did not rate it a 5 out of 5. I would go back again and do recommend this place. Looks like a family run dinner .next time I will try the burger which looked delicious!

I got the hotburger and was disappointed. The fries either tasted like it was from a white potato or frozen fries thats been quickly deep fried. The patty was 1/2 thick and wasn t bad. The fries with the gravy were below average, it tasted bland. For $13 it was not worth

Time and a word about John Andersons. Went for lunch here cuz it wasnt a long distance runaround to get there, got a cheeseburger combo and it was out of this world, i became a starship trooper eating this burger. Kinda a roundabout way of saying it was really good. Made me in a good mood for the day. You choose your toppings like lettuce and tormato, and you and i know its the toppings that make or break the burg. The condiments got close to the edge but they didnt make a mess. Ive seen all good people in fast food places paying the same price for sad cold burgers, they should make the perpetual change to John Andersons. To the Owner of a lonely burger joint, yours is no disgrace.

Food is amazing burger and poutine was delicious. Price for a burger combo is very good. I recently bought the milkshakes and they were the best affordable tasty and most of all amazing milkshakes I have ever tasted in my life. I highly recommend to go there and eat the food and milkshakes you wont regret.

First time trying the food here. I ordered a gyro and fries. The fries were good and fresh. The cook knows exactly how to make the fries properly and the oil is fresh. Usually other place s fries bother my stomach. But this one did not. The gyro was put together nicely, but I would say that the gyro lacked quantity of meat, toppings, and tzatziki. The pita was fresh, but it was very small and light on the toppings. I saw how the cook put together my boyfriend s burger and it was put together nicely (not slapped together nor sloppy). Very good distribution. The next time I do go, I will try their burgers. Overall, the place is clean, the food is fresh, and the presentation of the food is well put together. Unlike other places that slap things together and call it a day. **also, the food did not cause bloating afterwards, which is nice**

I was gladly surprised to see a capable chef whom I have known for many years was in charge of the kitchen when I visited the restaurant. What a change it had been under the new management! The food was amazing. He said he prepares the burger himself, and trust me, it blows Johnnys Hamburgers, Golden Star Burger, and any other burger place out of the park. The meat was of high quality, fresh, and seasoned. I truly believe Gordan Ramsey himself would call that a great burger (though he may like it a little less cooked to be honest, but I enjoyed the patty the way it was). Every topping was fresh, the bun was nicely toasted, the char on the bun and on the burger really gives it a noticeable and delicious chargrilled taste. I love it. I cant wait to return and have the burger again, and try some souvlaki dinner. It has been on my mind like a gambler thinking about casino runs. Yeah, it is addictive. I mean the food. The environment was clean and spacious. The cashiers looked happy. The price was good. Overall, 10/10. Bravo.

4.4 / 5 is fair and earned. Great score. Burger was close to exceptional. Flavourful, meaty and nice balance of Veggies to meat. Bun was perfect size and texture. They make it from scratch-so prepare to wait 10mins. I wouldn t go here for service - it was decent - but the food consistency is the star. Think of this like well made take out.

I regret not coming here sooner. I don t get the hype with johnnys hamburger but this burger was made to my taste buds perfection. In Toronto for the first time after spending 15 hours in airports/flying from Alberta for a medical trip. Needed a good, simple meal to end this long day. Looked up burger places near the hotel on google maps, found this place, ratings were great, pics looked great, and I was not disappointed. Might have to go back before I leave.

Disappointing service, i had to watch my friend eat for 10 min before they had my order ready when we ordered back to back. Chef picked up phone and went back to cooking after without washing his hands.

Wow yeah very impressed I dont know if I have anything specific negative or positive to say but I just had probably my top 3 satisfying burgers of all time. Im sitting here in zen can barely string together a review. Got a double burger. Simple. Cooked to perfection. They say 4oz patty but this seemed a lot larger. Juicy, bun didnt try to outshine the meat it was simply a bun and a great bun it was, give it a raise. Milkshake was fresh and honestly pretty damn good. Dropped in after driving by it and really glad I did. Almost say its better than that one up the road but youll have to try for yourself.

Came here for the first time in 25 years and had a great experience. I used to come to this place after my hockey games as a kid at Pleasantview Arena down the street; super nostalgic. I was expecting good food, and it was great! Theyre under new management and the new owner is a real stand up guy. He takes pride in his food quality and customer service. Im very glad to see a REAL burger joint like this still exists in our city, as they seem to be fewer and far between with the changing fabric of society these days... 5 stars guys, you got a loyal repeat customer here now!

Great fast food. Surprisingly, they have more than just burgers. Check out their menu to understand but basically, look up their burger toppings lol ...Theres a Greek twist with their village burgers. Food is made to order and definitely fresh! We went with Greek food and chose pork souvlaki and chicken (comes with white meat) souvlaki meals. Unconventional for a typical burger/hotdog place to carry those types of meals (unless we are talking about old school Danforth fast food type restaurants) The food was perfectly seasoned and still hot, even though we drove the food home to consume it. I was very impressed with their packaging too, everything was packaged nicely and the salad was in its own container, crisp, fresh and ohhh soooo goood!!!! Hot pita bread and tzatziki/salad dressing on the side. They know what they are doing and the cost was definitely worth it. Burgers are delicious also! The guy grilling is awesome and super friendly. He is so quick and definitely knows what hes doing in the kitchen! He gets into his zone and does a fantastic job!! We will definitely be coming back here and trying more of their menu items. YAY!! Also, I should mention they renovated the place because years ago, it needed updating and was a forgotten restaurant in that small plaza but now they revamped their menu and signs and then cleaned the place up to give it an updated fast-food diner type look. Still not fancy or modern but it is clean, bright and cute! No seating in the restaurant so you take your food and go. They accept credit cards, debit and cash. Always a PLUS, to accept cards!!!!

Older establishment with new owners It was my first visit since the new owners came in. Took a test drive,take out, with a cheeseburger.. Frist bite, final decision ,pretty damn good cheeseburger ,and hands down the best in this hood. Cooked perfectly and assembled before me with care. This aint no fast food patty. Ill be returning to sample some more all summer. Forget fast food franchises, Its the Independent burger places that really rules. Made me drool like a fool. B

2.5 stars. I had the 7oz home burger combo. Take this as constructive criticism. It was a somewhat satisfying meal. Dont take me wrong, I was very full. But the patty while big, was too dry. The toppings could have been more generous. The thick fries were some of the best frozen variety I had. For an independent burger joint, I expected better and take it up in quality. Competition is fierce. Dont be complacent like the previous owner. Frozen patties and fries dont cut it in 2022.

Last 3 times bin there was the worst.. when they reopened the quality was their... the home banquet was juicy and had lots if flavour cooked properly... now the last couple months has bin consistently bad.. its like they changed what they put in the beef or the Pattys in general .. the meat dosent even stay together.. my burger after every bite the meat turned to dry bits... and not to mention the bacon is always under cooked honest to say would rather mcdonalds.. i figured Id give it 1 last time, I went in they were un believably stingy... 2 half slices of tomato and a sprinkle of lettuce.. undercooked bacon and a overcooked dry patty and they changed the fries since they reopened aswell to cheaper ones

I ate here frequently when I was in school and I remember the classic old interior, poutine was $5 back in 2012 and prices now are still great as ever. Seen a few owner changes, and havent been here for 6-7 years but I got a gyro yesterday and it was AMAZING. The prices are unbeatable, same old great place just with better renovations!

My choice would be the home burger with cheese and bacon. Its a place Ill keep going back to. Vegetarian options: Theres a vegetarian burger. Parking: Its in a plaza with plenty of parking. Kid-friendliness: Theres food for kids on the menu. Wheelchair accessibility: Its on the ground floor.

Don t know why it s so highly rated, very underwhelming burgers. Even A&W has better burgers. Plain bun (not even sesame or brioche or anything out of the ordinary) with standard toppings and American cheese. Burger itself had some sort of seasoning inside that I would have rather done without. Poutine used shredded cheese instead of cheese curds. That s not a poutine then! It s just 3 ingredients, and cheese curds are mandatory. Fries and gravy were undersalted and soggy. Not the worst burger and poutine I ve had, but definitely down there.

Tried for first time and really enjoyed. Ordered 4 combos: home banquet burger, home cheese burger, steak on kaiser and fish and chips. All cooked fresh, and tasted good. Lots of tasty bacon on the banquet burger! Good value for money, considering size and taste versus big chains. Would order again.

Amazing food the home burgers are to die for, the chicken souvlaki is tasty as it can be and the guys and gals working there have the best customer service with a smile on at all times. Parking: In front of the store and the joining plaza gives you loads of parking spots.

Went with family to have lunch. What an absolute disappointment. There s a guy wearing an apron leaning against the glass right by the front door, smoking a cigarette. Apparently an employee. Sad that employees disrespect rules so badly. I don t want my family walking through this employees smoke so I left family outside and at least went in to order. No one at the counter. I called out, Hello? .... nothing. Noticed how dirty the counter was. Food wasn t looking very fresh and inside was not smelling nice. Very hard pass on this place. Maybe they won the lottery and don t care about customers, or cleaning. Waste of time and very disappointing. Teach your employees to respect the law. The #Ministry of Health should keep an eye on this restaurant. Can t post pics but I have a few to share of this incident.

Got their home burger. I am usually not a fan of burgers because its really hard to find the good ones. But I am not disappointed. Its definitely one of the good ones I ve had. Would totally recommend this place for anyone who are looking for a good burger anywhere other than big fast food joints.

I was happen to see this location by chance, I checked Google reviews and it had a great rating. This place is so amazing! I had the homebuilder with cheese. Not greasey and it had so much flavor in each bite . Literally top burger Ive had anywhere. The pouting was amazing too, the gravy wasnt too salty and I couldnt stop eating it. My mom is coming to visit out of country and I am taking her here. You will not be disappointed.

Havent been here since the new management took over. Was craving a pork souvlaki Greek style and a home burger. It has been 3 days since and I have done everything I could not to go back every day. They were amazing. Do yourself a favour and if ur craving a souvlaki or great home burger go John Andersons a try.

The newly renovated John Andersons is amazing. Ive lived in the area for 35 years and have been there through all the owners that have taken over the years and all i can say is new owners finally do this place justice. Having a buger there reminds me of the burger from the original John Andersons. Guys keep doing what you do and keep up the delicious, great quality burgers that this place is associated with.

The burgers are the best in Toronto!!!

First of all, definitely a good burger. Good service, plenty of toppings, great fresh cut fries, and while its a BIT on the expensive side, given the world we live in, if you want quality food, higher prices have to come with the territory. As I mentioned above, the burger was good, but it was a little dry and the taste was okay. Im HOPING that perhaps with growing pains and being newly opened, theyll get into a nice rhythm soon. So, will chalk this up to simply a burger cooked a little too long in a newly opened shop. Ill go there again, and hopefully it will be better.

This place has the best burgers in the GTA. Fresh cut fries as well. This place gets a perfect score. Great job to the new owners.

The new owners have really raised the bar. The burgers are AMAZING and the onion rings are out of this world. Definitely 5 stars

Amazing food and even better service! Tom and George are great guys and made sure that I was happy with my meal along with being very friendly. And on top of the the portions are generous so I definitely didnt leave hungry. Great job guys and keep up the good work!!

Just finished work and stopped by John Andersons, I used to go to the old one once in a while. Its been redone looks like new owners, decided to try it again. I grabbed a banquet burger combo with fries and gravy and it was awesome!!. like 13 bucks and the guy was super cool even offered me a water cause its mad hot out. Will go back.

Just went by here and tried the new Home Made burgers WOW. Possibly the Best in the City. Congrats to the new owners

10 out 5 stars if possible. this place is hamburger heaven! Fresh quality ingredients expertly prepared with friendly staff especially the cashier, always service with a smile. I absolutely love it here! One of the best homeburgers anywhere! Definitely one of my top 3 burger joints in The GTA.

I have been to this place three times in the past 4 weeks and I can say they have one of the best burgers (I got the 4 oz combo every time) I have ever had. The burger is juicy and the toppings are very fresh. Prices are very reasonable, and service is really good and very friendly. I have now found my go to fast food joint.

5 Stars for Customer Service, Cleanliness and their Menu!!

This place used to be the absolute best value homemade burger in town but new management have taken over and jacked the prices up substantially. Their 6oz* is now more than the 8oz at Esquire down the road which makes it economically redundant. Sorry fellas, but I dont eat LCD TVs. *EDIT: They seem to have increased the homemade burger from 6oz to 7oz, but the point still stands. Response to owner: The home burger was $5.09 under previous ownership. Last time I checked, your price was $7.10. In what world does that constitute lowering the price?

Decided to try this place again after the new owners took over. Needless to say I was excited when I saw the place was under renos and that new owners had taken over. This place used to be the best for greek food and burgers 20 years ago. This time around the food was alright. The salad was good. The chicken was dry and didnt really taste like chicken souvlaki that I am used too. Fries were okay. I was told by my 13 year old that the burger was small. Tzatziki was thick which was amazing but the taste was off. Would I try it again.....I dont think so but maybe you want to give it a try.

No photos to share because this was just the spot to get over being Hangry! Stopped for lunch and got a Souvlaki on a Bun. The owners Chris and Tommy were top notch. If you are in this area gotta stop here. Little shop tucked away in a strip plaza.

Would have included photos but I could not help myself(I have consumed meal and there is nothing to photograph other than engorged belly). I dont typically review stuff but wanted to acknowledge this place as I stumbled onto it by chance, ordered banquet burger combos (2 for less than $30) for myself and g/f. Food was SERIOUSLY AWESOME. Burger and fries impressed both of us. Top shelf!

Been a few years since I ve visited here and the new owners have given it a really nice upgrade to say the least. The service was friendly and pretty quick considering the food is cooked fresh to order. The place was clean and the toppings were all kept cool and nice and fresh. The menu was nice and simple which is just the way I like it for a local burger shop and the prices were more than reasonable considering combos at McDonald s are $12 now and this food was so much better for $14. I tried the Homemade Hamburger with Cheese and Bacon topped any way you like it and it was cooked well, filling and delicious. I also tried the Spicy Fries which were nice and crispy and served hot and fresh not like many other places we all know too well. I had a great first experience here and I know it will get even better over time and I m sure I ll be back again soon to try some of their other items too.

Thought I would never go again to this location. Had the most horrible experience with the previous owners. i had a cheeseburger tonight...Reminds me of the old Dairy Freeze on Caledonia and St. Clair.. Loved the cheeseburger and onion rings. Ill be back with my family next time. The place is immaculate and the staff very friendly.

Food was pretty good. The burgers arent dry anymore (I know that was a thing when the new owners took over). They dont salt their fries which is a personal preference. However, the chef that was assembling my burger wasnt wearing gloves. This wouldve been fine if he had washed his hands but there was visible dirt under his fingernails. It may not have been dirt, but it makes the customer doubt whether or not it was hygienic... And thats enough for me to not want to come back. I didnt say anything at the time because I find it hard to speak up. Please wear gloves next time or wash your hands thoroughly.

A blast from the past! Tasted exactly as I remembered it. It took me down memory lane! When food can do this to u, there is only one way to rate a place like this. 5 stars through and through!

This was the worst burger ive had in quite a while. Pre covid was the last time i remember coming here, and apparently its different management now. It used to be cheaper, plus better quality. Even the meat has changed which is the worst part for me :(. After 2 bites i noticed my burger tasted very odd. The quality of the meat was so bad for the price, and it tasted like a bunch of salt was tossed on it. I didnt know management changed until i came on here to write this review. Im not an expert on burgers but i cant remember the last time i threw out a 9 dollar hamburger.

Surprised by how good this place was. The burger was really juicy and tasty. The only drawback was the cook was not wearing any gloves or not wearing the mask.

Amazing burgers at a very reasonable price. I mean, the other big chains charge more or the same and its not real meat. The 7 ounce burger is huge and tastes amazing! I didnt need the fries or the onion rings, but I ate them anyway hahah

New ownership has come into this place and I was very happy too see a familiar face on the bbq. The place has been renovated and new beautiful toronto maple leafs hockey memorabilia adornes the walls. If you had problems here with the food, service, or anything in the past please give this place another try, you wont be disappointed.

Friendly shop and a good burger. Reminds me of when I was a kid. Update....I ordered my lunch from a delivery service, who forgot part of the order. The shop called me, before I had even noticed, got my address, and dropped of this missing bag. This is incredible customer service. Please give them a go. Great place and people!
