The food is decent and the location is nice and airy, albeit on the small side (it only seats a few small tables). Service was friendly and the food came out fast, with lots of menu items to choose from, similar to other locations. Street parking is available but limited because it's fairly busy, though there may be underground parking by the other eateries.
The Hainan chicken rice at this HK-style restaurant was a delight. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The service was friendly and efficient, especially Yan was very welcoming. A satisfying meal in a comfortable setting, feels like Home.
Had a craving for HK style cafe breakfast but we got there a little too late as their breakfast is only until 11am. Ended up getting the baked ox tongue rice and some original bubble waffles. The ox tongue was a bit tough for my liking. Every time I’ve had ox tongue in the past, it’s been very tender. It is the first time having ox tongue at Phoenix so maybe that’s how they make it here? The bubble waffles were made super fresh and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The space is super small, and more made for a take out environment. If there was .5 stars, I’d give it 3.5.
Their food is very authentic. I have tried a lot of baked pork chop rice in different HK style cafe, Phoenix is definitely the best and most authentic. The Hong Kong milk tea is perfect as well. I also like their dessert menus a lot. The service is always very friendly and welcoming. Hands down my favourite place for HK food in GTA.
Small shop with only 22 seats so depending on when you show up, there may not be a table ready. Food quality is actually higher than their Woodbine shop, mostly due to the lower customer traffic. Service is exemplary as well, same reason as above. When you are around Fairview mall and craving for some Honh Kong Style cha chaan teng food, check them out.
Everything on the menu looks good, so I know I'll be back for the specialty dishes. I do recommend Nai Cha (Hong Kong style milk tea), it's really good. I also had the spicy pork chop w/ Maggie sauce on rice, also tasty.
Food portion big, I mean big. Taste quite decent. Only critique is the black pepper sauce for the steak wasn't peppery enough. Overall quite satisfied with what I get for the $. Definitely coming back if I'm nearby.
Generous portion, enough for two meals for a girl. The grilled fish fillet comes in five pieces, and the pork chop has two large pieces. Usually, it’s served with tomato/white sauce on top of fried rice. You can add cheese for a little extra cost, and there’s currently a 34% discount on the second order! The pork chop is well-marinated and lightly fried. The rice is nicely stir-fried, and I think the price is justified 👍🏻 especially for those who enjoy this style of Hong Kong cuisine. On another note, my friend highly recommends their ox tongue rice.
New generation restaurant
Fresh, hot and delicious, delivered fast and a wide range of foods to select from with reasonable pricing! Warm, clean restaurant with Kind and welcoming employees. Honestly an underrated gem in the GTA let alone North York. What a perfect experience!
Great food and portions. Inexpensive as well. Awesome workers! Parking: Free parking in Fresco which is near by Food : 5/5 |
Very good attitude! The leaky milk is also delicious~
CHECK YOUR BILL. The women who work here sneakily put in 20% tips preset on the card payment system. I wondered why the price was so high, and asked to see the bill first. Found out. Shocking. Friend also mentioned that they have added a service/gratuity charge to his TAKEOUT before. Is this the case with other customers?
The beefs in the club sandwich are really bad. Bai Haos beef was tasteless and smelled so bad that I couldnt eat it (Im a mutton lover, so Im not afraid of mutton). Its probably because the beef itself was not fresh. Because I didn t want to waste food, I picked out the portions and ate the rest. Summary: Never look back
Great local location! Has hk style cafe food and lots of selection. A bit tucked away and well worth the find, recommend this!
Too expensive for such unpleasant taste. I havent tried the food, but the drinks were DISCUSTING. I asked for no ice in which she said ok but gave me a cup full of ice. I asked if it was possible to have a little less condensed milk in it to make it less sweet because she said it was a VERY sweet drink. She said yes, but it tasted like there was zero condensed milk. My friend had a coffee from there in which she couldnt drink because it was so bad. I didnt drink my Thai tea either. I would have asked if they could please fix it, but it took almost 15 mins for those 2 drinks and I didnt want to wait again. There wasnt even a line up!!!!
Nice food and atmosphere, love the combos in the menu, all comes with free drinks!
Its the worst breakfast Ive ever had! The first time I had Golden Phoenix breakfast, I will never do it again I regret that it would be better if I went there Both of us had a hard time eating breakfast. This satay beef style is completely different from usual up to Standard There is no juice, just some red oil floating on it. Its not peanut butter at all, its just the juice that turns brown. A Japanese-style chicken steak is so salty that it needs to be washed down But the service attitude on the floor is good But it s really hard to eat The price is not even
I traveled from other places and lived nearby, so I made a guide on Google. The food is indeed delicious, quite satisfactory, and the portions are sufficient. However, when the store was not busy, they saw that we had brought a lot of things and did not arrange to be seated in time. They looked at our large bags and asked us if they could sit at the bar. They refused. Later, I went to do other things. When I saw an empty table, I asked if I could sit down before a seat was assigned to me. Water was not provided in time. When I placed my order, I ordered salt and pepper pork chop with rice and pineapple oil. Finally, I was served pork chop buns. If you have a bad attitude and argue with me, I cant understand why the service industry is like this because the boss has no training. Because I wanted to try everything when I was traveling, I ordered 6 kinds of food. We needed a larger table to accommodate 4 people. We were told that if it got busy for a while, we would have to squeeze in 2 people for us. In short, I gave a 9% tip in the end to show respect for this industry. I hope the waiter can respect the guests next time. If you dont want to do this job, you can find another one, but thats not necessary. (Responding to the merchant s comment, if she really took the initiative to provide seats, instead of me asking her if I could sit there, she could arrange for me to sit in time, and I wouldn t say anything. I don t know if there is a problem with the merchant s understanding. Or I couldnt express myself clearly. She didnt take the initiative to arrange a seat, and came over to tell me after I placed the order that I needed to sit at a table for two. If the merchant wont apologize, then forget it. I have been working in the catering industry. I understand everything I can. It s my first time to leave a negative review, and I m positive about the deliciousness of the food. If you think I m looking for fault, I wish you a long life.)
Amazing food! The hainanese chicken rice is one of my comfort meals and it s so good here. I wish they give more broth with the meal though. If they did they would definitely get 5 stars!
The food is good and at the same time taste different than other places. I like the items in the menu includes a drink with the price. Portions are generous. The must try item is their special on the sirloin.goes for $30. I didnt give 5 stars because their rice was cooked with too much water, but is my personal taste. Wheelchair accessibility: Just walk from Dominos pizza. It is the access for all the restaurants.
Red bean ice = 3% red bean + 7% milk + 90% ice? Just two drinks for $7.
Must try the tasty good deal of sizzling combo set meal for 2 people. It comes with main course, dessert and a red bean drink or glass jelly drink
I got the bubble ice cream and it was delicious and the service was 10/10 they were so nice and the food is so good this place is my go to spot for ice cream and it looked so good and it was only 10 dollars Kid-friendliness: They have kid bento boxes
I come here for take out often. Good selection and the staff are super nice.
Ordered the spicy pickled vegetables with fish fillet with rice noodles in soup, and it was ok. Not as well prepared as other Phoenix locations. The broth seemed like reconstituted soup powder mix, and it wasnt hot. Just warm at best, no steam coming off the bowl when it was brought to the table. My family ordered a poutine, which was advertised as a new menu item. The fries was the only good part. The gravy was lukewarm, like nobody bothered to heat it past room temperature. The cheese curds were cold, like out of fridge cold. I understand that this is a HK cafe, and poutine not a traditional item, but a little effort would go a long way. Service was slow. It took a lot of effort to get a service staff members attention, but when you got it, actual service was decent.
Lots of food options in this cafe. I wouldnt mind coming back
I got a takeout one day for dinner. And after that food, I got so sick, I had a fever for 3 days after the meal. I couldnt eat or drink anything for 3 days! Not sure if Ill come back. But the staff was nice though, so Ill 2 star overall.
Portion too small
The food there was amazing, and the atmosphere there was great!the floor, table ,toilet and utensils were clean ,and most of their food is great, like the baked pork chop in tomato sauce on spaghetti .I definitely recommend you to go to this restaurant,if you do you should try the baked pork chop in tomato sauce on spaghetti.
Small place but its nice & cozy. Food is good definitely going back.
Big portion, but hard to eat. The cup of milk tea is bland and bitter.
Good food and the staffs are very accommodating for kids.
Good enough, normal coffee, good atmosphere, great attention
This is a nice place to sit down and eat for a relaxing start to your morning! It s a versatile addition to the neighbourhood and the food is decent. LOVE the hainanese chicken here which is available in the afternoon- their best dish for sure! The drinks are a bit overpriced though in my opinion. I ve also seen some feedback on the service but it honestly feels no different from any traditional hong kong cafe service and I don t think it s an issue. Food is also super quick to come out after ordering. Overall just happy to have a hong kong cafe in the neighbourhood!
First time trying out this cafe. Limited seats and parking just on the street. Staffs are friendly and polite. Food taste really good and decent portion.
Best fried chicken rice in the area.
4/5
A great spot for HK cafe food! Their portion sizes are huge, especially for their baked rice dishes! I regularly go to the Woodbine location of Phoenix Restaurant and I actually prefer the baked rice here in terms of flavour as well. Their fish cutlets and pork cutlets are also fantastic, perfectly crispy but still tender inside.
It tastes good. I waited a long time for an egg waffle. I was told it would take five minutes, but it still didnt come after half an hour. Checking out is something you insist on doing, but you can t do it.
Order milk tea 3/5, bake pork chop rice 3/5, satay noodle soup 5/5
I have the impression that Jinfeng is good, but the real department is very average.
Tasty with good portion. (club sandwich & pork cutlet with egg on rice).
Feels like no AC is on. I keep sweating when I am eating. Please turn on the AC and a bit cooler
Above average baked pork chop rice
Undoubtedly the best HK style cafe in this part of Toronto.
Yum. My favourite place for HK eats. HK milk tea, HK lemon tea, and the Hainanese Chicken with Chicken Oil Rice are must trys. So glad that one finally opened up nearby. Other favourites include baked pork chop/chicken steak in tomato sauce, cheese, and rice. Basically everything on the menu is recommendable in my opinion. You can never go wrong with a dish here, and the portions are plentiful. Phoenix Cafe also offers delivery and you can also order takeout ahead and pick it up for those on the go.
Good service with good deal! Tried their 1+1 combo and the portion is quite large, we even packed a full box to go. Will definitely come back!
Its a cozy, small little neighbourhood restaurant. The food is good price is reasonable. Great place for a quick bite
Great filled toast and pineapple cutlet burger. Very low prices. Would try again.
Good Service ! delicious food !!! Definitely will come back !!!
Great food, excellent service Comeback for sure!!!!! Food
An express version of the Hong Kong restaurant style cafe. They are running a promotion now, 2 dishes for $35 combo. Sizzling plate steak was pretty tender and the fries quite crunchy. Combo includes red bean drink with ice cream. Meat sauce of the spaghetti bolognese is a bit dry and not enough tomato sauce and greasy. Salt and pepper pork chops on rice had minimal veggies and comes with a drink. Staff was a bit rude standing there staring and waiting for payment.
The food here is delicious and good portions. Hesitated getting the Sizzling steak plate (black pepper gravy & fries) but it was probably one of the better ones Ive had and would highly recommend.
one of the best hong kong style cafe the the area.
The worst restaurant I have ever eaten in Canada. The pork chop was stale and smelled of pig mutton. I thought it was a branch of Jinfeng Tea Restaurant, but it turned out to be a bigger one~ The taste was outrageous!
Stylish small hk cafe with parking across the street amongst apartments serving delicious hk style food! They have a lot of choices on their menu but many classics. Came here at 10am on Monday when it was empty but it filled up quickly after that. Ordered the Hainanese chicken with chicken oil rice and it was one of the best that I ve had in Toronto, comparable to the ones I ve eaten in Hong Kong! Tender and juicy pieces of chicken with perfect ratio of chicken skin melts in your mouth when paired with the tasty sauces, fatty chicken oil rice and clean chicken broth with scallions. Portions are generous and I really like it wasn t salty unlike other places. Their half coffee half milk tea was also great and had enough steeped tea flavour. Service was also wonderful! 10/10 recommendation to try their signature Hainanese chicken rice dish and their drinks!
Came here for lunch. Ordered baked duck breast with garlic sauce that came with a lemon tea. Pretty good for the price you re paying for. Staff is kind and provided great customer service!
Its very humane and not a rigid tea restaurant. The owner and staff are very friendly and the food is served very quickly.
Good food!
Was here last week from out of town, server was kind and super friendly and helpful with our questions. We got the Hainan chicken on rice and it was well worth it. Lots of menu choices for anyone, ambiance gave a lot of HK vibes. Parking is a bit difficult, being only street parking and scarce due to bunch of no parking zones.
Cute restaurant with familiar food Kids meal was fantastic according to the 9yo. Hainan chicken was juicy and rice was soft and moist. The ice cream bubble waffle was delicious Will come again
Just wanted to give a shout-out to the server who was working in the afternoon this past Sunday. She was so amazing and hard working. She was super friendly, understanding, and helpful to find us a table despite the place being really busy. And was clearly attending to a lot being the only person at the front. Thanks so much for the great service!
Get selection and taste for the price
I m regular customer here and I love there foods. And this restaurant in our building so tonight I took my friend to eat dinner there.I had a really bad experience with the service.there was a server girl who serving food she was super rude and when I asked for takeout box she just threw a bag on me.when I asked her that I wanted to talk manager she was ignoring me. She was talking their own language and laughing on me. I don t understand why they don t have manager in the business time. This is relly Unprofessional restaurant and service. I am never recommending this restaurant again.
The food use to be good. I have ordered the porkchop on rice before and wish they kept the same portion size of porkchop. Its like they decided to just dont want returning customers. Honestly if i wanted a pameal bacon thick of a porkchop i couldve just went to fresco and pan seared it myself. Not worth $17+tax+tip
Super rude to delivery drivers
I went to this place last week with my friend who lives nearby and she told me they have a good food there. When we arrive at the location the server did not greet us or welcome us it was understandable at first we did not make it a big deal. We wer deciding what to order and while checking the menu the server gave us a pitcher of water and glass in a weird way and did not say anything like excuse me or something. We then proceed to take our order and my friend was a regular customer and it was her first time to see this server and she wanted to order her usual order but then the server told her they never had that option which was kinda weird so we thought she might be new and still did not know much about on what the restaurant serves. The food was gooood but then after eating we wer going to ask for the bill but the server was not even looking at us or ignoring us on purpose the moment we entered the restaurant we did not see her smile for once and she had this poker face the whole time. We would understand if she s tired but the way she s serving was kinda off and felt disrespectful in a way. My friend got up instead to get the bill and a take out box since she wasn t entertaining us properly. My friend ask for a bag and she kind of threw it at her in a rude and disrespectful way. My friend wasn t able to hold it anymore and decided to ask her if the manager or supervisor is around as she wants to speak to them to let them know how bad the service was. She told my friend that the manager Or supervisor isn t around and she kept asking why do we need to talk to them and keeps telling us to tell her what the issue was and kinda ignoring my friend. She then found someone who we can talk to but we knew he wasn t the manager or supervisor and talking to that person did not resolve anything as there is a language barrier. He doesn t seem concerned on how his server was acting rude towards us and that server just started laughing when we wer complaining and kinda telling us that she did not do such thing to us. The moment we left we saw them laughing and just making fun of the what had just happened. It was really disappointing how they can hire someone who doesn t have any customer service skills at all. That server was not really doing her job proper and to treat the customers like that is very sad. We hope the owner or Manager would do Something about this. It happened on March 7, 2024 around 7:30ish pm
I ve tried various dishes here, and they are all delicious, particularly the baked fish fillet spaghetti with cheese and white sauce, as well as the chicken chop rice, which are exceptionally tasty.
Have eaten here several times and this is the first time having an issue with this place. Found hair twice while eating my food - first one was just sitting on top so I let it go but as I kept eating I found ANOTHER one. Lost my appetite :(
Malaysian Curry Beef and Rice ($19.95)
Tasted so good. Table is smaller and overall space is tight. Parking: Seemed like only very limited street parking is available.
I m honestly not sure if the meat was cooked fully. The chicken was pretty pink with some blood on it. I asked the waitress and she said it was cooked, but then I got another dish for my husband and same thing the meat was pink inside and didn t look cooked even though it was tough on the outside. Everything tasted good, but just not sure if the meat dishes were fully cooked.
A Hong Kong restaurant with high-quality food and enthusiasm. The food is quite delicious, and HK milk tea is quite good. Worthy to try again when there is 22% special discount and free drinks accompanied. Food : 4/5
The problem is no parking, you have to use Freshco underground parking. Restaurant has only limited seats
Its a wonderful cafe, comfy, friendly and delicious
Great spot. Classic HK Sing style food!
Small & cozy hong kong style bistro with great breakfast at an excellent price. Staff are super friendly too, will definitely be returning!
Pork chop and beef curry are too spicy and salty even for mild spicy level. Cannot swallow for people who cannot handle spicy food.
Pretty good food. Decent serving size. The menu is pretty standard for most HK style cafe. Good service.
I heard good reviews about the pineapple bun with a thick slice of butter in the middle. I have to say, it was delicious! The butter added something more to it. As for the dessert bread with ice cream, it was very good but nothing really stand out.
Great tasting food and great service (really affordable too). Parking was a bit difficult though, I just used the freshco free 60 minute parking.
Portion of food is good, staff were friendly but one of them was a bit rushed (maybe he s new). HVAC system was a bit loud.
Hong Kong style tea restaurant style, affordable prices. Kid-friendliness: The boss is kind to children and provides childrens tableware
I was really surprised to find this NEW Phoenix Cafe in North York, near Fairview Mall. There were no posts on their Instagram or advertisement anywhere! It is definitely a hidden gem for the neighbourhood, and probably the smallest Phoenix Cafe yet, with maybe max 20 seats. I love the comfort food here. The food is delicious, and the service is quick. I love my Spam & Egg instant noodles, the Basa Fish Fillet Bun, and the Napoleon Styled with Black Sesame Ice cream Parking: Underground parking is right at the same complex parking garage entrance as Fresh Co. Park and exit from Fresh Co. and walk towards the restaurant on Forest Manor Road. There are also limited street parking spots across from the restaurant, but watch out for the 2 fire hydrants. FYI, there is ZERO cell phone signal when youre underground!
A brand new Hong Kong style restaurant cafe. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, and food quality is tasty and generous with reasonable prices. For sure, will visit again.
Delicious food with very friendly service. A tiny cosy place worth supporting.
Excellent food with great service. We had their Smoked Duck Breast and Hainanese Chicken. Both were fresh & delicious. The portion of the meals were shareable. We also had their Nai Chai and it was amazing. If you love tea then you must try it. Overall 10/10. Highly Recommended.
We had Satay Beef Vermicelli/Instant Noodles as our takeout breakfast and it was so good with great amount of beef! The satay here is on the spicy side (acceptable but not really really spicy) rather than on the sweet side, so it depends on whether you like spicy or sweet satay. Food and soup are served in separate bowls for takeout so you don t have to worry that the noodles are getting overcooked. The Hong Kong-style milk tea is authentic as well! People here are so nice and welcoming:) I d definitely come back for other dishes!
Very Hong Kong style cafe. Food was great. The staff was very nice and attentive. Would recommend to friends and family. Definitely going to come back.
Yummy HK food and super friendly staff! Will definitely come again when I crave HK food:)
Food is okay, but slightly overpriced. Other Phoenix restaurants offer a cash discount, but this location does not.
Excellent Hong Kong style food with reasonable price in Toronto. The milk tea (nai cha) is also great.
Ive been wanting to try this place out since I noticed their sign was up. I walked in not knowing anything about this place and was greeted with a smile. Great little spot with modern decor. The guy at the front was also very helpful in helping me with menu options. Anyways, I decided to get an iced coffee and beef noodle soup. I attached the pictures. I loved their iced coffee, so much so that I already went back for another. The noodle soup was quite tasty as well. There werent as many ingredients (just beef, noodles and corn), but honestly it filled me up and then some. The broth was very tasty and had a good amount of spice in it. I am happy I tried this place and I look forward to trying more menu options. My only con was the fact that there isnt an automatic door button for those with strollers (I came with my toddler) or a wheel chair. (If there is one, I did not see it) However, the second time I came I had someone hold the door for me on the way in and out which was very nice
I tried this Phoenix Cafe location since it was their new location (they had just opened for 5 days). Parking is terrible because it s street parking and it s difficult to find parking in this residential area. Right when I entered the restaurant, I was surprised to see how tiny this place was. I dined in and they had about 4 small tables. The space was cramped and the seats were not comfy. It looked more like a fast food take-out place, definitely not made for dine in. The staff were friendly but since the place was new they weren t really familiar with serving (i.e. I had to ask for utensils and napkins since they forgot to provide them automatically). I ordered from the combo menu: 1) the Baked Ox Tongue in Tomato Sauce on rice for $17.50 and 2) the Pad Thai for $16.00. Compared to other hk style cafes, the price was a little higher, but luckily the food was good and the portions were acceptable. They included 4 slices of ox tongue and the baked rice had lots of cheese on top which was nice. I enjoyed the taste of the Pad Thai too. With the combo meal, I had the hot milk tea and it was good since the tea taste was strong enough. Honestly, I enjoyed the food here, but too bad I probably won t be coming back because it is not comfortable to dine in. I think this restaurant is geared towards the residents who live nearby and buy take-out or if you want to sit down just to grab a quick bite and leave.
Delicious Hong Kong style cafe. Big portions and great service. Free parking is available under the Freshco supermarket. Parking: Under freshco supermarket
delicious big portion and excellent service!
Came to here just to check out since HK theme restaurant is so hot right now if you know the meme...their foods are great and delicious...no complaints means good thing! I ordered the curry rice...curry is on the spicy side which what makes it even better! And my wife ordered that Red Bean ice cream drink...that one is amazing! Size and portions of foods are decent...can surely fill your stomach... Also the servers are very nice and provide great service! When we ordered the food...I got lost what to order the first time at their place...and there was a handsome guy he recommended the curry rice ...thats surely a big plus!
Just a great little HK cafe. Only 18 seats but fast and friendly! Recommend for takeout unless here for off hours/going early. Pretty affordable too!
Solid food, authentic HK taste.
How come the breakfast set has no egg but its called Hong Kong style. The bread was not well toasted. A bit disappointed about the food. The table is a bit small for 2 people. I would say I might try again if I really miss Hong Kong style food. Its just not my cup of tea.
Very good
perfect hong kong style comfort food! the service was great and so was the food - they have a few new items on the menu that i would like to try next time i come by!
They have a concise interior style that makes you think its a great place for lunch, but its actually more suitable for dinner due to the heavy food. We ordered To Go, and two cashiers assisted us simultaneously. They ask a lot of questions about your food preferences and choices, what you want to eat, do you want to choose this, no that s not how we choose we do this balabalabala and have this balabalabala, which isnt how we typically how we make decisions. As a first-time customer, its not like a Gyubee, a Japanese Grill, or a retail store inEaton Center. I believe customers can make their own choices with the numerous flyers and menus available. Recommendations should only be given if customers ask for them. What confuses us the most is that two servers talk at the same time, and its unclear whom to respond to or look at. The coffee has a strange taste, definitely not enjoyable. However, the milk tea is good, but it becomes sweeter the more you drink, and there are sediments present. Unfortunately, they dont offer lattes, which are a daily necessity for most people. Their steak is difficult to chew because its too thick. Im unsure if its any different size for dine-in. The steaks thickness just match the size of your mouth opening. They serve fries too, but really recommend that the restaurant should always separates the fries from the main meal since m you don t have difficulties with keeping the sauce separate from the fries. Placing the fries at the bottom of the meal makes them soft and odd to eat, especially when they should be like regular fries, not poutine or rice. We ordered two meals, and it cost us $70. Maybe thats the reason many people working in the kitchen. We could have ordered from Good Luck HK Cafe or other Cafe food on Uber Eats for a better-priced meal with better-taste. Its frustrating, very frustrating. I wont recommend eating here, but since its a newly opened restaurant, they might need an improvement.
Cute little HK cafe with generous portions and a huge menu. Seriously, the menu is huge. It took us forever to decide what to eat but everything we got was very good. We got the spicy pork chop with maggie sauce on rice, hainan chicken, and cold milk tea. Portions were pretty big, I had leftovers to take home and my husband was very full. For such a big menu, the food came out pretty fast. Hainan chicken was flavourful, rice was a little dry and cold, but tasted good. Spicy pork chop was actually decently spicy and really juicy. Would love to come back to try some of their desserts. There is a reasonable amount of street parking, but also underground parking in the freshco lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible from ground floor
A very simple Hong Kong-style tea restaurant, and the set menu is also very cost-effective The doneness of the beef is very standard. I highly recommend the sizzling steak. The service guy was great and gave me extra sauce The disadvantage is that the store is relatively small. If there are many people, it is recommended to make a reservation. Kid-friendliness: There is a childrens set
We didnt realize this was a much smaller cafe compared to the Woodbine location but thankfully we were still able to get a table right when we walked in Sunday around 11am. The menu is so huge for the small number of dine-in tables... too bad the location isnt larger with more seats. There must be a lot of take out Business. The tables are small and I wish they felt a little sturdier (picnic table style) but they were fine for us to enjoy the food. The service was really good - the attendants were attentive and offered us options for our family (we had a 3 month old baby) to be comfortable. We first got the high bar seats looking outside but when space freed up, the attendants kindly moved us over. Bathroom was cleaned and was well maintained when I went which is a good indicator of level of cleanliness and care. Food was good and portions were big. We had teriyaki chicken steak with eggs for one dish and all was good but teriyaki sauce was a little salty. We just wipe the sauce off so not a big deal. I saw someone next to us ordered the Hainan Chicken and it looked really good. It is a good kitchen team managing such a big menu for a small cafe. We had delicious waffles with sesame ice cream as dessert - very well done, soft waffles with great taste next to the ice cream! Expand the space/number of seats if possible with sturdier feeling chairs and tables!
Really bad service, not fresh food, staff is not willing to work, slow, atmosphere crowded, takeout took 30 mins to make a drink. Really disappointed.
The food quality is much much much better than the Phoenix Restaurant on Woodbine. Actually, not just the food, service is also much better here. This hidden gem is a must-go eatery if you love Hong Kong style café food and drinks. Underground parking is available. The garage door is on Helen Lu Road behind Freshco. Can exit the garage through Freshco.
The efficiency is too low! ! ! Too slow! The kitchen is extremely inefficient! It was just a sandwich, not complicated, and there were not many people in the store. When I asked, it was already being made. Then it took another ten long minutes, and the food was not very delicious. I will not go there again.
Great selection of food with cute decor located in the heart of Forest Manor condos and apartments. Especially loved the dessert options.
So glad an HK café opened in this area. The menu is ginormous, the ingredients used are of great quality, and the dishes come in large portions. You re really getting good bang for your buck here. I ordered a baked bolognese casserole and it was large enough for 2 meals! The desserts are yummy too. There is limited seating and the café is bustling, so make sure to call ahead!
Malaysian Beef Curry and spicy pork chop on fried rice are highly recommended! We ll definitely be back to try other menu options. Great customer service, price and portions are also good!
Only if they can serve proper hk style lemon tea and not tea that made with powder with lemon in it .. Noodles needs more flavor but it is at least real food only made with a mediocre chef, unlike their lemon tea. Service is alright, but food definitely needs to be improved, immensely.
Delicious Hong Kong-style casserole pasta with plenty of cheese, just a short stroll from Fairview. Ill definitely return soon.
Staff excellent, Curry Pork Udon the best!!
Hong Kong authentic style dishes with heartfelt services
This spot is great for the community. delicious food, quick service too. pop in for a quick meal.
Its a cute restaurant and was empty at around 1pm on a Tuesday. I had the spicy pork chip w/maggi sauce on rice, which was spicier than expected, considering its rated mild. It was a combo that came with a small hot drink, and I chose the milk tea, which seemed high quality. My girlfriend had the baked ox tongue in tomato sauce on rice, which was also quite tasty. Both dishes had very large portion sizes, so neither of us finished! Parking: Its hard to tell where youre allowed to park, but there are usually other cars parked, and I wasnt ticketed
Good service attitude, many choices, economical and affordable
Great place! The workers are so nice and attentive
We tried the baked pork chop rice, rice is not hot. Hk style French toast taste is not good, too soft, soaked with the cream or milk. Probably won t come again as too crowd, not comfortable to dine in.
Food was okay. Store is very small and understaffed
Food and drinks are good to the value. Servers are friendly and attentive. The only downside is the small seating area so it can be quite packed and noisey when the restaurant is filled with tables of people.
Quite good one Live nearby and become a solar eclipse Recommended afternoon tea, daily 2-5pm, all items and hot drinks
Generous and real tastyyy serving!!! Kudos to staff whos sooo accommodating will be back to try other food on the menu
Hongkong styles restaurant all food are tasty drinks are nice
Came here with 2 other friends, Atmosphere is amazing reflects like a small cafe, we were greeted by a employee who was working in the front, food came really fast, piping hot steamy. The food amazing, would recommend, and will return to eat at Phoenix Cafe.
Tried the curry ox tongue with rice. The meat is tender and as someone who likes spicy food, the curry has the perfect amount of heat. Will definitely come back!
The food was amazing and theyre big portions. All the staffs are friendly and nice. Ill definitely go back!
Happy to have a Hong Style cafe in this part of town. Small but clean and nice setup. Most important is that the food is pretty good.
Waitress, my sister is so nice and helpful.
My favorite, it s great, I come here to eat it every week
