Hotpot 9 is a modern hotpot restaurant founded by young enthusiasts, starting in North America. Our mission is to bring the rich culture of Chinese hotpot dining to a global audience, presented through a contemporary lens while staying true to the essence of traditional Eastern aesthetics.
老九门Hotpot 9 is the perfect cozy spot to enjoy Toronto’s first snowfall! The restaurant offers a spacious and beautifully decorated space featuring traditional Chinese elements. The open partitioning adds a sense of privacy, making it ideal for group intimate gatherings. The sauce bar is great, allowing you to craft your perfect dipping sauce from a wide variety of options. Their AYCE menu is impressive, featuring a diverse selection of meats, seafood, vegetables, soft drinks, and desserts. Plus, they include delicious side dishes like pickled cucumbers and a limited menu of grilled and fried items, such as chicken wings, all in the AYCE price. We chose the yuan-yang soup base—a combination of white pork bone broth and spicy broth. Everything we tried was fresh! Some of our favorites were the lamb slices, spicy tender beef, beef tongue, chewy beef fat, yellow throat, fortune pockets, shrimp paste, lobster balls, veggie bowls, wide sweet potato noodle and gluten. If you’re looking for a delicious way to warm up this winter, Hotpot 9 is a must-visit!
As there are so many good hotpot restaurants, I would not recommend this place. However, the price is reasonable. Many choices but taste is just quite average
I recently dined at an incredible hot pot restaurant, and it completely exceeded my expectations! The ambiance was inviting, blending modern decor with a cozy atmosphere. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. The variety of fresh ingredients was impressive – from tender cuts of meat to crisp, vibrant vegetables. The broth was aromatic and bursting with flavor, making each bite a delight. The interactive aspect of cooking your meal at the table made it even more enjoyable. The dipping sauces were the cherry on top, adding a personalized touch to every bite. If you’re looking for a fun, flavorful, and unforgettable dining experience, I highly recommend checking this place out!
Great AYCE hotpot restaurant with beautiful design and lots of food selection. Canned coke, diet coke and ginger ale is unlimited. Self serve sauce station with some apps, desserts and fruits as well. They have some unique items rare to most AYCE menus around like frog legs, beef fat rolls, shrimp paste stuffed mushrooms, giant deep fried chicken wings.
I was excited to try Hot Pot 9 with my friends and our kids. The interior and ambiance were stunning, and they currently offer a great deal: $30 per person on weekdays and $32 on weekends and holidays. They also have a fair policy of charging 60% for kids aged 12 and under, and our 5-year-old ate for free, which was fantastic for parents! There were 9 of us, with several kids, and we were welcomed with two soup bases of our choice—tomato and spicy broth. The menu was accessible via a QR code on our phones, offering a wide selection. However, it was confusing as every order remained in a pending status, and we could all add items at the same time, making it difficult to confirm if our selections were processed. Initially, the food came promptly, but as we neared the last half-hour of our two-hour seating, my pumpkin dessert, popsicles, and pork belly never arrived. We placed these orders when they announced last call and handed us the bill, subtly signaling the end of our meal. After following up, we finally received the pork belly, but the popsicles never came. We weren’t notified of any cancellation or given a reason. Additionally, the lack of air conditioning made the experience uncomfortable, as we were all sweating and losing our appetite. The service slowed down toward the end, and we felt rushed, unable to fully enjoy the last part of our meal. While the food and setup were impressive, the poor service and treatment were disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless there's a change in management.
Price wise it's a great deal for the Happy Summer all inclusive at $29.99 where the competition usually offers that for late night only. However, the past two visits at this restaurant has been rather uncomfortable as they either have no a/c/ventilation system or it's just been down. It's like walking into a sauna each time, which forces to you to keep drinking and hence filling you up. Both Daimaru and Haidilao don't have these issues as their temperature setting is just right. The overall atmosphere is very unique and nice and probably the best compared to the other hotpot establishments. The quality of food, especially the beef and pork has been hit or miss. Usually the first serving looks fantastic, however when you reorder the cuts of meat appear to be of lower quality and inconsistent with the first serving. Quality control seems to be non evident as we were served meat that was 90% fat on several occasions which we had to return back. The condiment area has a wide selection of sauces, fruits and desserts, however they need to do a better job of replenishing items as well as keeping the area clean. Similar to what many other reviewers have mentioned, there are a lot of fruit flies buzzing around.
We’ve visited numerous hotpot spots in the GTA, but this one truly stands out with its stunning ambiance and beautifully themed Chinese décor. We took advantage of their summer promotion, and both the food and service were exceptional. The meats were incredibly fresh, and the crispy chicken was absolutely delicious. The spicy broth, while not overly spicy, was packed with flavor, and we also tried the coconut-flavored broth, which had a mild sweetness, reminiscent of coconut water. Service was prompt and attentive. Parking is free, with plenty of spots available just across from the restaurant. You’ll need to tap your credit card to enter the parking lot, but the staff can validate it for you later. We’re already looking forward to returning in the winter!
Came here for their $29.99 deal. Not bad at all. They had good food selection. Beef and most other ingredients were of good quality. Soup base was flavorful and came at no extra charge. The friend chicken wings were surprisingly good. Service was good enough. The restaurant could be a little more clean. A few things felt kind of sticky. I liked it and would recommend.
We called, they said no wait and they take no reservations. We got there and they said 15 minute wait. Over an hour of waiting and we gave up and went to the burger place. Wont be back. Edit: the burger place down the way slaps. Go there instead.
The restaurant used good paper towels and my nose felt soft. The highlight of the day! It s just a little waitress, but she can serve her in time without complaining. Cheap, pop drinks, popsicles and pot bottoms are included It is very rare for a dining environment to have such a standard Chinese style environment in North America.
They charge for the same price all day. There was a promo where soup base was included otherwise I find it a bit costly. Food was good. Meat was freshly cut. Good selection of appetizers and desserts. Staff was attentive and friendly. Parking was a bit confusing but was actually included. You can ask the servers for a scan ticket after your meal. It was very quiet when we went during lunch I guess because it was the same price all day. Im sure it gets busy at night. I know its a bit pot place but their fried chicken wing was actually one of our favourite items.
going on 2yrs of this being my go to hotpot place! i recommend it to everyone i love it so much
Worst place ever had to wait too long for the food Hard stomach problems next day only except cash
Beautiful decor but the meat quality was not great. Chewy beef, and the light soy sauce is quite salty, making the sauce combos super salty.
We definitely do not recommend it, especially the welcome service at the door was very rude and their behavior was very bad and they say that they will only take cash, not credit cards If you want to go, please think twice, do not waste your time.
Great place for a casual night out. The spicy hotpot was a standout. Would go back again!
Excellent value for money
$35.99 per person including soft drinks and soup base for the weekend price. Lots of variety to choose. The spicy soup not that spicy and the smell can get improved.
I went here with my family a couple days ago and had the worst experience. The service was horrible as it took 45 minutes to get anything we ordered, not to mention we had to ask multiple times to get anything. The staff were also not friendly. Overall we had a bad experience. My nieces got food poisoning from this place and are still not well which breaks my heart. Above all I do not trust the cleanliness of this place and will definitely not be back nor recommend this establishment to anyone.
What an absolute gong show of an experience which ended with everyone in my family having food poisoning! We walked in and we werent greeted with as much as a hello. Instead this old lady shouted cash only at me about 8 times before I had to pull out cash from my wallet to let her know I get the point. The food took forever to come out once ordered. I was wondering why this could be. Maybe the kitchen is disorganized or something. It was a bit worrisome because once you order raw meat youd hope it comes out quickly and isnt sitting for a long period of time. The food came and the broths were both flavourless and warm, not hot. Its HOT pot. So on top of the slow food, the broth isnt boiling. Another red flag since we are supposed to be cooking the slow to arrive meat in the broth; 1...to cook the meat, and 2 .... to kill any food borne pathogens present. Long story short my family has been sick all weekend. Theyre are obviously some food handling safety issues at this establishment so I have reported them to Public Health. I doubt theyre throwing away all perishable foods that have been left at room temperature for more than 2 hours, for instance. JUST AN ABSOLUTE BRUTAL EXPERIENCE. Now weve all been vomiting all weekend. NEVER AGAIN.
Food was good, but they dont have various selections. Theyre doing promotion with cash now.
I have a good night in my birthday here.3 peoples : 122$(Hot pot all you can eat). The soup is good. The service is good. They service good. Parking: The parking is not free but when you eat here, this hot pot location will pay money for your parking lot,so don t worry about that.
Amazing food experience
Booked reservation. Arrived, they told me they do not have a table. Offered party of 5 one chair to sit while waiting. Waited an hour. Ended up leaving.
The parking at this place is horrible and confusing. The parking attendant on the intercome gave wrong instructions. The blue ticket doesnt work and we end up paying $12.50 for the parking. There are so many hotpot with free parking in Markham. I wont bother to eat here again. Our parties have 5 cars. 3 others had to pay $10. Only one was charged correctly at 2.50.
The decore is immediately capturing! Its so intricate and pleasing to look at. But thats not why we went. The food! I hadnt been to hot pot in quite some time and this was a great confounding of my expectations! There were a lot of options for broth as well as ingredients which were all yummy! Its certainly not cheap - realistically I think to expect to spend in the area of 40$/person. Makes for a great spot to treat yourself or someone! Parking: They validate parking. Put in the validation ticket followed by the print out you got upon entry.
Service is great. I saw a group of monks eating hot pot during lunch thats how good hot pot is lol
Waited 2.5h for a table and never got in. The restaurant was fairly empty when we entered and we were told we will get a table ready for you. Clearly not true.
Was a great nite out. Price was fifty dollars but they gave you a a decint amount of meat. Per one order. Great selection. Of different food. And the side order. That you could go get. The waitress was fantastic. Helping us. Understand. Everything. We spent three hrs. Enjoying our self. Definitely the best hot pot place we ever been to and will go again. Very clean. And they dont double charge you for the broth. Like most places. Check this place out. They even have big seperate rooms for Large clients. Vegetarian options: There was a great selection of veggy dishes. In the hot pot menu Dietary restrictions: The waitress was great. To help us in this department. Just ask her Parking: Remember to ask for your free parking at the restaurant. Parking was indoor and great right next to the place
Best hot pot in Canada.
Great place and great food, there are a lot of items to choose from, staff are quite friendly as well.
Clean and fresh foods. Thank you, Mandy. The best service!
Always love hot pot! Plus there was a great deal going on. Soup was delicious and the selection of options was great. Highly recommended
Terrible experience, I visited this place with my friends on my birthday during the summer special promotion and was very disappointed with the lack of service. Had to wait over an hour for a table we reserved a week in advance. Meanwhile, other tables who came after us got served. After waiting so long, we ordered a-lot of items but end up getting only some of them. The place was also dirty, with flies everywhere and no staff to address the issues. The manager was rude and had a terrible attitude when we raised concerns. It was totally not worth it.
The atmosphere was special to say the least. But the service was atrocious. We arrived on a weekend, so we expected it to be crowded and for sure we won t be getting a table right away. It was 7 pm when we arrived, but by the time we got to our table it was almost 10 very disappointed with the service since half of the restaurant had empty tables but none of the guests waiting outside was able to secure a table. What s worst, when we finally got our table, the cup were broken so water spilled all over the table. Food was mediocre, the garnish stations were messy. An alright selection of foods.
The food and options were good there. The have a full sauce bar. The pricing wasnt too bad also. They had a deal going on. The one thing I got annoyed of were their hard chairs and lack of AC in the restaurant. It was really hot in there.
I dont understand the hype over the place. I actually expected something better after our first attempt to visit resulted in being told it was going to be a 3 hour wait unless we had a reservation. Very disappointed in everything. Well there is quality to some of the food some of it just doesnt hit the mark. The soup bases that we chose where very unflavored (tomato soup base and pork base) and bland, neither added anything to the items placed into them. Hot pot that Im use to the soup base enhances whats added to it and what you add in turn add extra flavor to the soup base, this just wasnt the case for either base sadly. Portions chosen where decent, though the ordering method used is through a QR code system (which means you need to have a smart phone, they didnt seem to have any physical options) wasnt great since allergy information was added and no one confirmed if chosen items where safe or not (Im assuming not do to GI issues near the end of the meal). The atmosphere from all I read is supose to be good but it felt cheap and cold, I didnt get any feeling of warmth or welcoming. The sauce bar, wasnt what I was expecting to see. No chili oil, no ginger, though the selection was limited it did have the basics chili flakes, sesame oil, hoison sauce, minced garlic, green onions. Over all, it was an alright meal but nothing amazing and sadly not worth the hype or the cost in my eyes. We wont be going back it just isnt worth it. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options, without needing to touch animal based products if you wish to do so. Their selection of vegetables, tofu, etc is decent enough. Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately for a manual chair user, non of the provided seating options are very accessible. The table configuration just isnt workable from a chair which means either getting everything done for you by a friend/family member or transferring to one of the chairs/benches. The bathroom is accessible to a limited degree there isnt a full railing system the limited railings is only really supportive for ambulatory wheelchair users or if you are adapt at using railing that isnt well thought out for a actual chair user.
Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner. Ample parking across the street that the restaurant will validate. The food was spectacular! Wide range of offerings, especially clams and mussels that arent often included at other restaurants. Service was great and the employees were attentive at bringing food quickly and picking up empty dishes. Would highly recommend!
The interior design is pleasing, and the service is good. Wish they had more options for soup base without pork broth. And more veggies. Other than that, great spot.
Very dark inside like haunted house in china forbidden city . Washroom is dark and not clean! Price is expensive 35$. Seafood is not fresh. Some meat too fat. Wont return
By far one of my favourite places for hot pot with plenty of options to choose from the AYCE menu. Their soup quality and flavours are on point. The customer service at this restaurant is fast and friendly. Their decoration and atmosphere are amazing, felt like I was transported back in time to ancient China. Plenty of indoor parking which they provide a coupon for free parking.
Food: Delicious hot pot! The soup base was just ok (we got the pork broth and coconut broth). I advise you get the pork broth or any other one would probably taste better than coconut. Great quality for the October promo price of AYCE $33.99!!! Service: Everyone was very nice! Food came quickly, even during busy dinner rush. Stayed for about 2h and they didn t kick us out :) Atmosphere: Quite full at peak dinner time, but still roomy! Washroom is accessible. There is an outer sink area with a mirror for anyone to use.
Great place! Good food good price and service
The place is nice but service slow and food items are not bring to our table as sent.
Great food, service and play good music! Good hot pot
Chinese people don t lie to Chinese people, even if they eat it, they say it s good! ! Laoba s secret hot pot! !
10/10
I made a reservation and was told I would have to wait about 40 minutes, so I waited, but it took about 2 hours. They didnt follow the reservation order, people who came late got in first and had to wait a long time. On a special day, a meal with family went awry. I dont recommend this place
i came for the promotion but a bit disappointed. The meat quality js not very good. Fish and cuttlefish were a bit stinky. The chicken wing was cold. The soup bases were a bit bland not too much flavor. Small flies fly around
WORTH THE HYPE!!! We heard all about the deal $29.99 AYCE INCLUDING drinks .whaaaat. We were in AWE the moment we walked into this place. Absolutely beautiful! Their menu is EXTENSIVE! From spicy chicken wings on a skewer (YUM) to frog legs they got everything in your hot pot dreams!!!! The quality of the meats were great especially the beef belly and lamb. They even had a self serve sauce and desert station with some fruit, grass jelly as well as some appetizers like spring rolls and tea eggs. The service was EXCELLENT! Everyone was friendly and attentive and always checked in on us. We did reserve a table earlier in the day, but the place was not packed. Definitely worth a try!!!
Reasonably priced hotpot and tons of options. The issues I had were (1) learning about how to use the menu accessed via QR code when multiple people are accessing it - we ended up not getting our main meat orders by mistake until the end of our meal, and (2) needing to pay in cash for the entire meal - if you arent prepared for that, youre relying on the ATM at the back that charges a $4 fee
Tons of fruit flies surrounding our food and table.
Very good hotpot place. The decor is like your in ancient China. Service was very prompt and accurate. If you part at the lot across the street or in the building, theyll comp you for the parking.
Such a nice hot pot restaurant! Loved the decor and vibe. Had the pork and crab broth and it was excellent. They were very busy so servers were running around busy but overall nice enough. It was 32$ AYCE for the weekend. Would go Again. Food
Really enjoyed the seafood platter. Fresh and tasty.
Great all you can eat hotpot place. Busy place so we waited 40 mins ? But we enjoyed the meal it was very satisfying:)
A great place to eat and the prices are very reasonable. Soup base was no additional charge. Drinks were also free. Soup base was average, not bad. Haidailo has better soup base and service, but I dont know when the special ends. The parking was convenient. The only downside was the food you order, but everything you order comes, so you might have to ask them again. We sat for 3 hours and no one told us to leave which was good. Their lamb and beef was pretty good for AYCE buffet. The best quality of food in terms of quality and price.
The service was really poor. They took extremely long to deliver our food, and did not even deliver most of the food we ordered. A waiter handed me a dirty straw too. I would not recommend this all you can eat restaurant.
I went here with my friends. It was a great night of food and drink. You make your own dipping sauce and the servers really take care of you. They keep the water jug filled and the soup pot topped up.
Came to this hotpot restaurant based on a co-workers recommendation, which I at first was hesitant to follow but am glad I did! The food is 10/10, no issues here. Everything we ordered came quickly, and there is no extra charge for sauces (which other places do charge on a per person basis). There is a wide selection of things to order, both for the hot pot, and also cooked appetizers, which is so worth it for $29.99. The service was friendly and super quick. The servers helped us with any questions we had, such as explaining what certain things on the menu were. The only downside to that night was that the AC in the restaurant was broken, so we were boiling but the food and its money value was worth it. Im super excited to come back for a 2nd time next week!
We went back again during their promotion. We had such a great time: food and service were just great as usual. Want to say Anna is always excellent in providing her service. We missed the food and of course Anna. Updated on September 13-2024. We always enjoy this restaurant and came again on Thursday for their promotion. Arrived at 6pm and this was crowded already. Food and Service were just fine given that they were busy. Will definitely go back again to enjoy this promotion
The restaurant is very unique and classic, but the food lacks desserts.
Best AYCE hotpot I have ever had. Got the authentic Chinese vibes.
Service was bad, really hard to get the server to help. Table is really small. The all you can drink is POP.
This is the best AYCE Hot Pot I ve been to and I ve been to a lot! Variety and value is too good
Great service, price is great, broth was delicious, alot of different items on the menu to choose from. You will be full
Made a reservation at 7pm two days ago. Received an email requested to be on time. We arrived at 6:50pm the table wasnt ready. We waited for 30 mins still not able to provide us a table. Dont bother to go there no point of making reservation. Will not go there again
Great price and yummy food. Its a great place for gathering. Make sure you make a reservation online. Parking: You have to take a ticket when you enter the parking lots, however once you finish eating you will get a free ticket to exit the parking lots. Make sure you put in the free ticket and then your original ticket to exit.
The food quality and flavour is good. My only concern was they had left the front door open instead of turning on the A/C which caused the topping bar to be infested with flies. We just avoided the bar and made sure to cook everything in our pot before consuming.
Very efficient service, affordable price, and convenient parking
Dikshy was our server , she was lovely, very friendly and and gave us a great experience! The staff are all nice and the atmosphere was great with music and stunning decor , the food was fresh and tasty, highly recommended!!
If you always come here to eat, it s better to find someone at the front desk. The attitude is very good, but the queue doesn t tell you how many tables there are in front of you, or how long the wait will be. It doesn t know if there are any available seats. They say they are all reserved, so you can only eat by making a reservation.
I had a great experience at Laojiumen Hotpot. Highly recommend the spicy broth for those who can handle the heat!
Absolutely terrible service. Food was pretty bad as well.
Nice place to eat, food is decent. Service staff is great. Issue is with management. Found out the TIPS don t go to the servers unless handed directly to them. Tips all go to management. Super greedy. DO NOT TIP unless directly to servers. But if you like the food, it is a good place to eat. But again TIP directly to servers.
Amazing hospitality. Friendly people.
The decoration of this hot pot restaurant is very Chinese style, antique and elegant. The ingredients are fresh, there are many varieties, the service attitude is good, and the charges are reasonable. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options include watercress, spinach, prince mushroom, enoki mushroom, taro, vermicelli, etc.
Food - it was okay, not that delicious. Broth was very standard. Atmosphere - the decor is quite nice, very thematic. Service - service was not great. The employees were hard to find if we needed help with something. There was not enough ladles at our table and there was no napkins at all, both which we had to get up and get ourselves. We ordered multiple rounds of food, and each time the orders were missing many of the things we ordered. We tried ordering the fried banana three times, and in the end we left without getting it. We followed up on our orders for our drinks (3 cans of pop), to which the server told us there were no pending orders and that we should order again. We order the three cans of pop again, and the server comes out with six cans of pop. Overall, the experience was not worth it even though they had their summer deal going on (29.99 per person, cash only).
Service could use a lot of improvement, food was average. We had to put our order in multiple times and it still wouldn t come.
Had a wonderful dinner at Hotpot 9! The deep-fried chicken wings on a stick were great! Our waitress Dikshya was very attentive and provided everything we needed. She even gave excellent suggestions for things to try! We ordered a spicy tomato side and a tom yum side. We mainly used the spicy side for the meat and tom yum for veggies. You order with your phone, and everyone at the table can order whatever they want. The table was a little small for everything we ordered, but there was a small cart for overflow. You can order whenever you want, and it shows up really fast, so you dont have to place big orders. Parking: They offer a validation ticket for free parking. One per person if requested.
Old Chinese decorations. Good atmosphere
Beautiful decor, food is good, prices really good.
We called in advance to make a reservation and specifically requested individual pots due to everyone s dietary restrictions. When we arrived, we re told that there s no reservation made under the name and we have to wait in line along with other walk-in customers. We were later offered a table with single pot for everyone to share which wouldn t work for us at all. They told us it s the only option (take it or leave it). Staff are not helpful nor professional. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.
Great AYCE hotpot with traditional, well-designed ancient Chinese atmosphere. Service was prompt and there was a lot of variety of proteins and veggies to choose from. There was a nice summer promo where our whole group ate at a discount. Definitely come back again!
Ummm was just there the food is good better to order ahead of time to avoid wait. The spring roll and sweet potatoe was really good as appetizer. The hotpot is just a normal hotpot at any other place. One thing I don t like is I got 100 points for my dining there the app promotion said I can redeem 5 points but when I ask the waiter she said nothing makes me think she hiding something. I got ruder service at prisotto tea before like that that made me never want to go back there they are so rude. The waiter wasn t rude but I just got no response back. If your restaurant says you can get 5 off you should hornet your word. Anyways makes me not want to consider coming back 5 dollars make a difference because you have to pay tax. 5 dollar can cover it.
Great experience, authentic hot pot, good sauce options, and they have this special going on for 29.99 plus tax per person all you can eat with drink options. Cheaper than getting ramen.
The communal dining experience is perfect for gatherings, and the dipping sauces are a fun way to customize your meal.
The food here is excellent I ve dined here twice and was impressed both times. However, the service could use some improvement; the staff seem a bit tired and their demeanor isnt the warmest. Despite this, the quality of the food makes it worth the visit.
The service attitude of the staff is friendly, and the food is served very quickly after placing the order. The sauce preparation instructions are listed for reference, but the quality of the sugar water needs to be improved.
The average price is $40 per person for all-you-can-eat two bell-fired nests. The soup base is rich and the selection of ingredients is okay
Best hotpot in GTA
Summer special on now $29.99 /person
Highly recommend this place. Very tasty food, incredibly friendly staff and stunning ambiance
Very beautifully decorated interior of ancient China. Great selection of food and sauces. Very good hot pot restaurant. Parking: Its a paid parking garage. But you get 4hrs free parking when you eat at the restaurant.
Came here with my family during the summer special of Laojiumen Hotpot. The price is good with soft drinks included. Their selection of food items is extensive, fresh and in good quality while their service was excellent. I ordered two non-spicy broth. The coconut broth tasted sweet with the taste of ccoonut; the tomato broth was likewise satisfying. Cooking lamb, pork, different cuts of beef and seafood in either broth made them very tasty. Like in other hotpot restaurants, they offered cooked food in their menu. I like their deep fried chicken and pork and chicken wings, braised tofu, and different kinds of offal.
I wish I can say more about my dining experience but sadly got so pissed at the reception and I happy to spend my money elsewhere. My friend and I stood at the reception for 10 minutes, staff passed by and no one come to us. Finally someone came and said the wait time is 30 minutes while obviously there were at least 4-5 tables available. Basically the attitude was just go if you don t want to wait. So we did, left and never turn back.
Great price and atmospheres food is good
Delicious, so much selection and great value!! Highly recommend!!
Both the food and the service were good. During June it had a promotion so it s worth it to try. If you wanna try that all-you-can-eat it would be a good idea. I would suggest the spicy soup. Parking is free if you eat there, and the service staff will give you a receipt to waive the parking fee. They only accept debit card or cash instead of credit card.
Came here to say for dinner twice and each time the deep fried skewers that was ordered never comes out. When asked each time we were told they take the longest to make. Well it can t be that long that even after 1 hour it doesn t come out? Comes to a point we gave up. Happened again when we came for dinner a second time. Only difference is we heard another table complain about the same thing .why their deep fried meat skewers don t come out. For example deep fried wings. If you can t make it then please remove from your menu. Will not be coming back here.
Yummy yummy yummy,me and dragon we all agree
Visited this Hot Pot restaurant because Ive heard good things regarding its quality as well as their smoking 29.99 AYCE (31.99 Weekends & Holidays) deal, which includes soup base, and Drinks (pop). Theres also discount for Seniors 65+ I wasnt disappointed, the quality of the items, especially their sliced meats are excellent, good selection of seafood as well. Oh... They have AYCE Fried chicken wings! . The speed that the food was coming was OK but a tad slow at times. We would get surprised when food arrived bc we had already forgotten about the order. Try the pork bone & hunian coconut soup bases (see pics for full soup base selection) . They are really tasty Ordering is simple via their QR / Web interface. Dont forget to Signup with their loyalty program, you get 100 points, equivalent to $5 just for joining. Place is very clean, well maintained and their employees are constantly helping to remove used dishes and plates. 2 hour seating limit. Theres free 4 hour parking above ground as well as across the street (see my pictures for map & instructions)
The price is cheap~
I recently dined at a fantastic hot pot restaurant, and it exceeded all expectations! The ambiance was inviting, with a modern yet cozy decor. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring our experience was top-notch. The variety of fresh ingredients, from tender meats to crisp vegetables, was impressive, and the broth was flavorful and aromatic. Each bite was a delight, and the interactive nature of hot pot dining made it a fun and engaging meal. The dipping sauces added an extra layer of flavor, making every bite unique. Highly recommend for an unforgettable dining experience!
Almost as bad as a point
Nice hotpot in the city. The food is fresh and with a fair price (under promotion). 1st place to go to when I want to have hotpot!
Amazing all you can eat deal! Beautiful atmosphere, service and food quality. Felt I was in China! Will go back again soon. Parking: You get a voucher good for 4 hours of free parking Kid-friendliness: Private sections
It was my first time going to a Hot pot. My friends invited me there for lunch. I enjoyed the food so much. Lots of different meat and veggies, cooked food, fruits to choose from. Vegetarian options: Lots of greens, Tofu, mushrooms.. etc taste great and fresh Parking: There is a parking garage around the corner and when you finish your meal you can get a voucher for the parking.
they changed their price.$29.99 per ppl
Service is bad. I order vegetable and it never comes. I ask couple server that I didnt get my veg they just walk away.
Never again. The food was not fresh at all (I keep seeing flies flying around the restaurant and on the food!! Super disgusting!) they were also out of drinks as well. The utensils provided were super greasy and oily (not sure if they even cleaned it). But yes, never again and would not recommend at all.
We went for lunch during weekdays so the restaurant was a little quiet but well stocked. The waiter was helpful. We really enjoyed our time eating and catching up . Will definitely visit again. Posted on my family chat so the whole family will be visiting this place.. Btw it was all you can eat for 29.99
Absolutely amazing place for experienced hot pot enthusiasts. Please note that if you only speak English and it is your first time eating hot pot you will be confused and might be even frustrated as this is a self-service menu via an app, souse and topping are also self service, you need to know what you are choosing as all the writing is in Chinese. The staff will not be able to help you with nonsense questions as their job is to bring food to the tables and not baby sitting you when its your first time eating hot pot. 5 star experience and food quality. Wheelchair accessibility: Not really.
Worst arrangement, terrible marketing event, do not have enough food for customer. Cannot provide the menu food. Customer needs to self refill hotpot soup and tidy up! Worst experience 6/1/2024
Its really too bad that the service here is so terrible. It seems they are severely understaffed. We went for dinner in a group of 8 people. They started bringing out the raw meats in decent timing, but we had to wait almost an hour before we were able to eat because thats how long it took to get the broth. I also had ordered a drink which took almost an hour to come out as well. At the sauce station there were no more bowls to put your sauce in, and no one was even trying to replace them. One of the orders we had placed for a friend who doesnt eat red meat took 3-4 times of asking and 3 hours later before he finally got his food! I wanted to like this place because the food was really good and the atmosphere is cool, but its far too frustrating to be having to literally harass staff, and still be waiting for hours for food to come out. There are other hot pot places out there with far better service and just as good food quality.
I went there on Sat night which was the first day of their promotion ($31.99/person all inclusive on Fri-Sat-Sun). The line was not long, waiting time was around an hour. However, most of our food didnt come out, all I got were only meat and some vegetable, other food on the menu like snack, desert or seafood was not available. And they didnt inform me until I had to ask the waitress. It was the worse experience while I had to wait for a long time guessing that they just took time to prepare for the food then find out that these food were not available and it happened so many times in that night. Their explanation was due to end of the day and they had more customers than expected so running out of food. However, I had to pay the same price as other people, so I dont think it was fair to me. Moreover, I parked at the exact parking lot that they showed on their website. They gave me some discount coupon to get the free parking, but I cant use the coupon in that parking lot and end up paying $10. The parking lot on the website and parking lot to use the coupon are different location. It was my first time coming in this area so obviously I will park at where it shows me on the website. Overall, I would rather to pay a regular price of $50-60 per person in other hotpot place to receive a better service and experience.
Came for the $29.99 AYCE special. Note: CASH ONLY. It does not mention this on the website. Food was pretty good and service was prompt. Ordering is done through QR code via online. I had the crab paste pork bone soup, it was a bit lacking in terms of flavour and depth. Tomato is the better option. Two additional points: 1) Ordered the snowflake beef, which is supposed to be 10 rolled slices per order. Instead, we received a large plate of it just slapped on; flat/unrolled. Id estimate there were at least 40-50 slices. 2) The parking instructions says to park in the lot across at the intersection of Yorkland and Consumer which we did. Following the instruction, we tapped to enter. Upon leaving, we received a coupon from the staff. HOWEVER, there is no option to scan or insert the coupon upon leave the parking lot specified. Ended up having to pay $10.
It s okay. The food was served very quickly at first, but I had to wait for half a year for the fried bananas. The pumpkin pie is delicious, and the Taiwanese sausage is delicious. Anyway, the snacks are quite delicious. The hot pot is average, not unpalatable, and it s pretty good. .
Argue with the waiter that you can swipe your card. There is a 4 yuan handling fee for withdrawing cash from the ATM in the store.
Had an incredible dining experience at Laojiumen Hotpot! The atmosphere is lively, the service is excellent, and the food is absolutely delicious. I appreciate the attention to detail in every aspect of the meal. Highly recommend!
The ambiance at Laojiumen Hotpot is fantastic! The decor is traditional yet modern, and it feels very welcoming.
Avoid Hotpot 9 - Disappointing Experience After seeing a promotion of all-inclusive $29.99, I went to have dinner at Hotpot 9 yesterday at 6:00 pm. Unfortunately, it was an unpleasant experience, and I wont be going back. This was my third visit, and I could clearly tell that the quality of both the service and the food has dropped significantly. First of all, the food orders never arrived on time. We had to wait an excessively long time for our food, which was frustrating. Secondly, when the food did come, the portions were much smaller than what we ordered. Even though we were a large group, the portions were so tiny that not everyone could enjoy the food. Lastly, if any food was sold out, the servers would randomly bring replacements of their choosing instead of informing us about the unavailability. This led to further disappointment as we ended up with items we didnt want. Overall, Hotpot 9 failed to meet expectations in terms of service and food quality. I wont be returning, and there are much better options out there.
If you love hotpot, this is a must-go spot. If you are not a big fan of hotpot, you should still go here because they have cooked items that are really delicious as well. A variety of skewers, chicken wings, fried chicken, fried shrimps, tea eggs, fried rice, crispy fried pork, sliced offals or pig ears in chili sauce are available for people who dont eat a lot of hotpot. For those that do love hotpot, theres a huge selection or meats and veggies for your delight and many different broths for you to choose from. They are currently running their summer promotion so its only $29.99/p (+2 on weekends/holidays) so its very reasonable for such a delicious offering. We had Ying Yang broth with half pork bone and half spicy beef tallow. The broths were so delicious and the spicy one is SUPER spicy so be very careful. They have a very large sauce station in case you still need to dip and also dessert options like fruits, mango sago, deep fried bun with condensed milk and fried sesame balls.
One of the best places for AYCE hotpot! The broth is so flavorful. We tried their spicy broth and white pork broth. You can also create your own dipping sauce.
A group of friends recently visited a popular hotpot restaurant and were unanimously impressed by the experience. They praised the restaurants warm and welcoming ambiance, perfect for a social gathering. The extensive menu offered a wide range of fresh ingredients, from premium cuts of beef and lamb to an assortment of seafood and vegetables. The highlight for many was the variety of rich and aromatic broths, each adding a unique depth of flavor to the meal. The group appreciated the attentive and friendly staff, who were quick to refill the broths and offer recommendations. Additionally, the customizable dipping sauces were a hit, allowing each person to create their ideal flavor profile. Overall, the group agreed that the restaurant provided a delightful and memorable hotpot experience, making it a top choice for future gatherings and very reasonable price too !!!
The service is very good. The waiters here are very good. The taste is also very good. I think this is a very good store. I hope everyone can experience it.
Great location, best for gatherings, with parking in the same building. We were a group of 13, the largest table is 8-ppl table, but we could sit side by side. The ordering was smooth with a scan of a QR code. The food was fresh and came quite quickly on a weekday lunch time. The decor was nice. The seats weren t the most comfortable ones (big chunky wooden ancient Chinese style). Overall it was a pleasant experience. Price is on par with other similar hot pot places.
Food choices are not as many as some other hotpot places. Not much seafood
Service was quick and efficient. Its a perfect spot for group dining. Make sure to try the house special broth.
The food is normal and the selection is OK. How much time do you have for a business trip? I usually don t know the price clearly, but they have a special price including tips for about $40 per person, which is acceptable. Remember there is free parking upstairs.
The meat can only be ordered in two portions. Even if you order more portions, you will only get two portions. This is the amount I ordered for eight portions. The service is very slow.
We visited Laojiumen Hotpot last weekend, and it was fantastic. The presentation of the ingredients is beautiful, and the taste does not disappoint. The spicy broth is very flavorful. Will definitely be back.
Good food, good service, good price!
Ive been to Laojiumen Hotpot several times now, and each visit has been consistently excellent.
First time ever going to any hotpot restaurant. I think it s very overrated. The amount of times I burnt my made it unbearable to eat. Maybe I need to give it another shot
Under staff. The waiting time for our service was longer compared to other places. (Almost only one staff member plus one runner when we were there.) We witnessed the kitchen throw the frozen meat to the ground of the kitchen so they could detach them. Will never come again.
Good service , meat quality not too bad. The cooked snacks are good
Good staff service and quality of food. Nice decor
Great food, music, and beautiful atmosphere to enjoy hotpot! We got the satay and spicy tomato broth. Highly recommend
Great food and service! Definitely will come back!
tasty!
Great food and great service. All the waiter and waitresses are very kind and I like their menu selection. The app is easy to use to order and I can really control my food portion. Highly recommended.
Came here for Mothers Day dinner, they were able to accommodate a big group even on a busy day. We had AYCE with mushroom and Tom Yum soup. Price is great and they also gave free parking! Must try!
Busy day because of mothers day but we didnt have to wait too long to get seated. Staff was attentive and service was fast. Highly recommend
Excellent food and service!!
It s the 5th time we visited this hot pot. Atmosphere is amazing, food is delicious. The only suggestion is to play Chinese music there. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to kids, they gave a toy to my daughter, kids were happy to have unlimited fruit, candy and ice-cream.
Our favorite Hotpot
Not a bad choice to come here with friends. There is lots of space in this restaurant. The interior is a modern take on old school Chinese restaurants. Very interesting interior! Food is hit or miss. All the hot items come out lukewarm. Dont bother wasting your time with these. As for the appetizers/desserts they were really bad. The mango sago I tried tasted BURNT. Not sure how that can be possible but it was very off putting. I also ordered a beer and it was served warm. Had to ask for ice for it kinda sad actually. Come here for the sliced meats. The meat is of good quality. Especially the beef slices. The sliced meats come out quick when you order too. Overall a good place but definitely not on the level of other hot pot places (Haidilao or Daimaru).
Thai hot pot is very delicious, not too spicy. Lamb and side dishes are worth experiencing. The restaurant space is beautifully designed and cozy
Beautiful authentic Chinese setting. Food freshness combined with fast service makes it a fabulous place to be. Relax you have plenty of time.
Food is ok but expensive. Lot of variety of food. Service is very good and attentive.
This was one of the best Chinese hotpot restaurants Ive eaten in! food was delicious.
Interior is really pretty, washroom is well-kept and also aesthetically pleasing. It wasn t busy when we dined in, but there are many seats available. Lots of options to choose from. They have two sauce bars, both with different appetizers including desert jelly and sliced fruits. High quality of meat. Friendly service. Parking is a bit confusing at first. There is a building parking lot that requires you to get the ticket. Make sure to ask for the voucher from the staff before you leave to avoid paying the parking fee.
Food: 9/10 - variety of options, portions are big. I think it s worth the all you can eat price that I paid for. However, after the server refilled the soup base, it became very watery and not good as when soup base just came out. Service: 4/10 - I think service should be improved significantly. We were waiting more than 10 minutes for soup base to be refilled (after we called). At that time the restaurant was not even busy. Server did not smile and not attentive. We were not even informed that there was free parking. I came to know after reading other reviews and ended up paying for the parking during the day of visiting. The only good side was food came fast after ordering. Decor: 10/10 very nice decor, looks like a great Chinese hotpot restaurant. Parking: We were not informed that there was complementary parking so we ended up paying for it :(
very attentive and friendly staff... love the buffet sauce stations, lots of items to choose from. Food
Exceptional hot pot AYCE experience! The variety of fresh ingredients, flavorful broths, and attentive service make this spot a definite 5-star choice. A must-try for hot pot enthusiasts! Highly recommend the crab soup rich, savory, and bursting with flavor! Convenient parking available at the side or back entrance of the building. Dont forget to ask for free parking when settling the bill.
A must visit for hotpot fanatics. Just the atmosphere alone is superb. During our visit we are the first customer and we have the whole place to explore. They have dipping sauce and appetizer section. The soup broth is of course good. The service is fast and the place is really well maintained. But the only thing not allowed is to take out the left overs that you had. But thats fine as we really enjoyed eating here.
We went to this hotpot restaurant on the weekend, and the business was good. However, there was only one serving lady who took care of the whole tables service, and she was very busy but the service was not bad. Food was good and we d like to come back again in the near future.
Is a good feat place and I recommend it if you like meat and lots of other foods
They have great hotpot, good prices, and good service. Make a reservation as the place is same and fills up quickly.
Broths are rich and flavorful, and selection of ingredients is impressive.
Really good selections from their menu and the buffet bar. I enjoyed the food and broth, only the meat quality was not that impressive.
We loved this Sichan AYCE Hot Pot so much that we dined here twice in less than a week! The interior is gorgeous with traditional meets modern oriental aesthetics! Plenty of seating, including private rooms, and free parking . The variety of soup bases is impressive, and we chose the two flavor broths each time. We dined in for the Happy Hour special from Monday - Friday between 12pm-5pm for $25.99 per person (cash only, excludes weekends & holidays). There is a promo now for a group of 4 for dinner ($33.99 per person + $2 on holidays), one dines free, (cash only, and both promos can t be combined). The service is amazing, and the quality of the meats and ingredients is fabulous! We re looking at returning for a third time!
Food is like any other average hot pot ayce. Nothing extraordinary, Decor is nice seats somewhat uncomfortable. Service was lacking until they realized I spoke Cantonese. Parking: They validate parking.
Wonerful food and service
Fantastic!!! Must try!! Amazing food!!!! Will absolutely be going again!!!
Laojiumen Hotpot is a delightful dining experience. The broths are rich and flavorful, and the ingredient choices are extensive. The staff is knowledgeable and helped us navigate the menu.
The beginning of the meal was great, food was good, we got to get we ordered, service was impeccable but as the restaurant got busier the quality went down fast. We waited around 30 minutes for vegetables then they brought us some other tables orders 2 times before we got our order which consisted of two leaves of lettuce, unwashed watercress, tofu skin instead of bean sprouts and a handful of lotus roots. Then we waited another 30 minutes for the bill and had to ask 3 staff members before somebody came. While this was happening everybody else around us was getting their orders and bills at breakneck speed and we had to wonder if we were doing something wrong.
Favourite hotpot place! Incredible thought went into the design and decor throughout the resto - including the dragons in the bathroom. Many private dining rooms available for larger groups too. Service was very attentive and food was great we enjoyed the cuts of meat. There are self-serve sauce bars with many ingredients to choose from. We ll be back!
Great atmosphere and service. Food is good and generous.
Splendid Chinese interior design, delicious food and excellent service. Will definitely go there again !
Hard to find service, but you don t really need it since everything is on the app, soup is flavourful, lots of variety on their menu Parking: They validate parking
This is the most disappointed hotpot place i have ever been, the beef and pork are so artificial that they look like clay toy made by my nephew. Others are just tasteless. Why not try out other places with similar price.
Went here for dinner on a weekday and it was not busy at all. Soup base is $19.99 for two broths or you can order one broth for $8-10. There were lots of free food options, and also some that charges extra. I recommend getting the handcut beef slices, shrimp paste and squid paste. The indoor parking is free, remember to get a voucher from the restaurant. The servers were were polite and attentive. Overall a pretty good experience.
Atmosphere great and settings are good. Food selection is good. Soup base is not the best but good. Self serve station needs more selections. Service is a bit slow. Overall a good joint.
Best Hotpot Place in GTA! Beautiful decor and atmosphere Good Service Great quality and variety of food and desserts Generous portions and reasonably priced Free parking voucher for 4 hours Kids 5 and under dine for free
Heavy MSG in the soup base!! It will keep you drinking water till the next day!! Short staffed. Great atmosphere for family.
I was wondering is there any time limited for the all you can menu. If there is time limited, staffs should mention about it when customers be seated.
Food is alright. Service is lacking, unless you speak Cantonese. Youre really just paying for the decor. BUT - they do validate your parking, and you get 10% off your bill if you pay cash.
