4750 Yonge St Unit 143, North York, ON M2N 5M6, Canada
Bombay Roti is a take-out style Indian Restaurant specialising in North and South Indian cuisine. Our menu is handpicked to represent the true taste of India. We have an assortment of Chicken, Lamb, Seafood & Vegetarian entrees as well as delicious Biryani
I usually order and dine from the Bloor location and ive had no complaints whatsoever, this was my first time ordering from the Sheppard location and it wasn’t a good experience. My order got messed up and when I tried to contact the branch, they weren’t able to fix the issue
I bought biriyani for the 4th time on ubereat and first 3 times it was good and 4th time biriyani was spoiled and smelled we ate 25% of it and end up in hospital we had stomach problem for 2 days. Please inspect your food before you send it past the counter, the raita sauce might be bad too check those daily
Ordered a chicken biriyani with raita on Uber eats. It tastes pretty bad. And it’s extremely expensive I don’t understand why. Uber eats has these tricky checkout options that takes advantage of you. I think that’s plain wrong and unethical.
I’m a regular at the Bloor and Bathurst one, this was my first time trying the one in Yonge. I really love their biriyani that comes with raita. It’s really good. But this location has it messed up! I don’t know if it’s because that’s how they make it or what but they gave me rice with some chicken curry at the bottom. The biriyani was dry rice on top with some chicken curry at the bottom. Which looked more like a curry chicken combo then a biriyani to me. The taste wasn’t the same either.. I thought it was a mistake or wrong order but then I checked they don’t have anything like what I got on the menu. The raita was watery too. Was the worker just not feeling like mixing it together and making it a biriyani? I’ll never know. But totally disappointed for the first time. The place to service customers and take payments is very tiny too. If you just go there for the first time it’s hard to figure what what’s going on.. I didn’t notice the bell in the corner at first so I stood there a good 5mins until I figured out what to do to get there attention from that tiny corner.
loved the food here! they were quick for preparing it and it was very delicious. i am picky when it comes to indian food and i absolutely enjoyed it here
Great new location in North York that provides better Indian flavours than most of the locations present in this area. I asked the server that I wanted something spicy, with vegetables and chicken. He suggested the Chicken jalfrezi and said he can make anything spicy. He made it fresh and asked for feedback as well. Overall it was great but the roti was slightly raw and the potatoes were not well cooked. The server asked for feedback as well and was humble to receive the feedback. I am happy this place is so near my office. I will be going again for sure.
Teja (the chef) is an absolute legends. Amazing service and amazing cooking skills. I will be back! Sorry for the messy picture, I got so excited I ate half before I remembered I need to leave a review :) Teja, you are the man. Keep up great work and keep delighting your customers! 12$ meal. Delicious!!!!
Do not order from these place. I ordered samosa chaat and keema pav. As you can see they are so try and in low quantity. When I called the restaurant for refund they said they they just add 2 table spoons of chickpeas. Also there container was leaking from the down side and they even dont know. They said its the drivers mistake . Overall food taste pathetic.
So heavy and oily that I feel sick after eating here
i tried chicken 65 biryani its really awesome
We ordered smosa chaat, very bad service, nothing tasty, tasteless food, i waste my money.
The food quality is very poor.I ordered twice from this place both the times I was disappointed.
Poor customer service and unsavory food. Butter chicken wasnt cooked properly and tasted really bad. This place is not worth it.
kind of a hidden gem and definitely visit again and butter chicken roti was fabulous and chicken biryani was too yummy
Amazing service, I tried navratan korma it was so delicious
We ordered Chicken Vindaloo (Non Veg Roti) It was so delicious, juicy and creamy . Like blast of goodness in your mouth. Loved it!!! Food
I have ordered chicken biriyani from this place thru Uber Eats and that was the worst ever biriyani i ate in my life. I still don t understand how they make it so worst. I couldn t even finish one bite. The rice has strong taste of some odd spices. Never ever recommended from this place. It s just biriyani, not rocket science.
Worst food, service
Food was not properly cooked
Ordered Butter chicken on uber seeing on their description for it said Butter chicken made with boneless chicken breasts and i also litrally also called to make sure it is made with chicken breasts the guy who recieved the phone said yes it is made with chicken breasts butttt it was not made with breast it was made with thighs they are just fooling others thinking who would know it unless someone knows a difference which is breast and thighs a when it arrived we saw its was not made with chicken breast was really dissipointing as it was our dinner .......
One of the best biryani
Bombay Roti does a new style of roti with curry wrapped inside it. (at least I think it is a new style, I dont think india would put curry in a roti this way) It is really tasty, and I really like it. I usually order through the website, that way I do not need to wait as long. The only con is sometimes they run out of roti and I replace it with naan. Thankfully, the naan is also really tasty. And at peak hours, you might need to wait a bit for your order. Do not expect much decor, but this is a food court, so there is not much to expect. Overall, they make good curry and roti for a good price, and thats what matters!
Ordered their Madras Masala and asked for mild . It was spicy.. :( if they cant adjust the food spicy level then they should just say it s only spicy-super spicy- mad spicy-etc. i could have skipped this dish if it was this spicy. Also their raita was super watery like juice. Felt like just flavoured water. Is this right??? But their roti was big, barely no chicken inside tho
If I were I wouldn t eat here . Thank me later
I always order biryani from here and most of the time it s good!
The roti s are bigger, better, and cheaper than other places. It s a very, very tasty roti and the price is good. Highly recommended! Take out only. I m Parking: Paid street parking or paid underground parking.
Their employees do not observe cleanliness in any way and do not behave respectfully.
Dietary restrictions: Not halal certified Food
I had paneer tikka roti very tasty
Ordered food from here, portions are decent, proper spice level (do not order spicy if you have no tolerance), tasty, our family loved it.
Got lamb. So good and big portions. Worth it and will return soon
I ordered butter chicken roti using UberEats. I loved it. It was so delicious and good portion.
Amazing Restaurant.
Their butter chicken and saag paneer roti is excellent. One of the best Indian options in North York by far and I always order here when I want an Indian roti. The portion size is also great and the food always tastes fresh.
Mediocre
Was really looking forward to this but there s too much fat in the butter chicken
Tastes good
Great staff. Quick service! Tasty food! Great value! Overall good experience and will definitely return!!
The guy was all by his self, so order took a long time, and the other customers there seemed pretty stressed, (for time), but overall it was a great meal, with great flavours.
I ordered Butter Chicken (1+1) and a plain rice on UberEats. It was decent. :)
I ordered 2 Butter chicken roti from here just now through Uber. There were 4 small pieces of chicken in the roti. Well thats not the problem. Problem is a few pieces were undercooked. Its a safety concern and I hope they change this
Best chicken biryani ..!!!!!!!
The food here is really delicious! My kids love it, mild is perfect for them and we get spicy for us. We have tried many items from them and never a complaint. We did try their mango rasmalai tonight and it was one of the best rasmalai we have ever had!
Good
My friends and I Ordered paneer, naan and rice from here. After we ate the whole night the 3 of us were puking and got severe food poisoning for 2 days. Worst experience. Shall never order from here.
We ordered paneer naan & paneer rice from uber eats on Saturday June 3rd at 11 pm. Three of us we had the food at 12 am, after 4 hours around 4 am, we all puked madly for 1 hour wirh a bad headsche and bloating for whole sunday. One of us is still having stomach ache after 36 hours. To add and confirm the source of food poising, all 3 of us didnt have anything in common except for the paneer. This is a clear case of bad food & safety standards being followed at the restaurant. I will never order nor I would suggest anyone to order from this location. Im also going to report this to the concerned authorities.
Worst food ever! Only go there if you want to claim your health benefits insurance. I had their best selling paneer tikka roti and it made no sense of any kind of dish at all since i was so hungry & paid $15 I somehow ate half of it and 2 hours later my stomach was upset and i got pain of stomach in my life, it s just not me i shared a bit with my friend he went through the same thing!
Food isn t that good and the worst thing is waiting time! Waiting for over 40 minutes to get my food. Not recommend for anyone if you cherish your time!
I have ordered boneless biryani. It is too good
I had my lunch today at this place and the food was so bad me & my colleague got sick probably the gravy was old would never visit it again
actually felt sick after eating
How the hell does place have have 4+ review? The most dirty and disgusting Indian food I have ever tried. Dont get fooled by those fake reviews. Not even worth a try
Omg its delicious
Food poisoning after ordering via Uber eats
Never order from this restaurant and particularly sheppard branch. We ordered from uber eats and they provided absolutely garbage saag paneer. We had to visit the doctor because of the unsafe and stale food. Avoid at all costs.
Food tastes fine..was good for one time try
Amazing Veg Momos and Chicken Tikka Roti ! Vegetarian options: Veg Momos!!!!! Food : 5/5 |
My brother and wife said thc food is great, but it is slow to serve (20 minutes). My biggest beef was my wifes plastic knife bent while cutting in it because it was so hot. Would make sense to have wooden knives with the wooden forks they provide.
Food is yummy quick and opens very late. Great place
This is a hidden gem. The food was great and authentic. Will definitely visit again.
I want to preface this review by saying this, I love the food here, it is very good and priced decently well. Now for the not so great part, I found what seems to be metal from steel wool in my butter chicken.
Awesome
Vegetarian options: Extraordinary Dietary restrictions: Gud Kid-friendliness: Excellent
Overall food was great and great customer service.
Fantastic butter chicken roti! So glad there is a good roti place nearby. Hidden gem for sure.
We have been here multiple times now and I must say this has one of the best Butter Chicken Roti in the city. Will be back here for more! :)
Great roti everytime. Can t go wrong with them.
Great massage. Great people. Great service. I recommend it
Great place great food had their Chicken Biryani at Sheppard-Yonge Location Loved it !!!!
Food is always fresh and hot. Good meal sizes, very filling and one roti can fed two.
I ve never had Toronto food so bad that I felt the need to leave a 1-star review for it, but this was unconscionably gross. Rotis like rubber, curries were just low-quality ingredients dumped in raw tomato paste and chili powder. Everything tasted like it was days old and reheated. After two or three bites my partner and I both had to stop and threw our food out. We requested and received a full refund from the food delivery service.
Food is really delicious and I strongly recommend indians to try this. Customer service is so good
I just ordered a butter chicken roti this evening from a tall gentleman. It was medium heat. It was delicious. I m interested in returning to try the dal makhani or the biryani. I hope they are as delicious as my meal this evening. If they are, I will be returning many times. Thank you.
It says open on google maps but in actual its closed on Monday 8pm.
This place used to serve some tasty Indian rotis. Recently whenever I have gone here the shop has always been closed for some reason. I m giving 3 star so that the management updates the timings.
Best rotis around, i love getting the butter chicken roti and when I go w my vegan friend she gets the Aloo one. She doesnt usually like most roti spots bc they cheap out but this spot has quality. Also big thanks to Harry for the great service. Makes the experience a lot more enjoyable and tempting to come back when the employees are nice.
A pretty good menu, yummy butter chicken roti and Biryani:) a very friendly service.
I had Paneer Tikka Roti and Gulab Jamun. It was the most terrible thing I ever ate. I asked my food to be spicy but it was extremely spicy with overload of garam masala. Felt like throwing away the food but had to gulp down this terrible food. The gulab jamun tasted bad and again has excessive flavour of elaichi. Mistake of my life to spend $20 at this place. Never again. Edit 1: I already mentioned above that I asked for spicy food but that does not mean that you will load the gravy with garam masala and call it spicy. Feel free to share the footage. People will only throw up after eating that much masala. You should have acknowledged the fact that food wasnt up to the mark but youre on a defensive mode. Kudos to your business ethics.
Great roti, I got a mild butter chicken and it was tasty.
Tasty and good portions for the price.
This restaurant is not good at food or food safety...and the staff is really rude....sped 5$ more somewhere else but dont try here..
Best Indian restaurant in town..Will recommend it to everyone
I ordered two samosa chat and I am not at all happy with my order. I requested to keep yogurt and tamarind sauce on side as I don t eat yogurt however when I received it all yogurt, tamarind sauce and mint sauce were mixed together and sent. Quantity was very less hardly there was one-2 table spoon of chana on samosa. There was nothing like a chat in this whole dish. Worst chat I ever had. Will never order again from this place.
I tried butter chicken here and it was so good....10/10
I love their food
Their mutton biryani was amazing! Must try! I have tried at many many places and this would be the only 2nd place where I was satisfied with the flavour and quality of biryani! Will be a regular for it!
Butter chicken here is the best the staff too were very polite and respectful. Probably one of the best Indian restaurants in this area. This restaurant gives me a home away from home feeling.
If you want authentic South Indian chicken/lamb briyani..this is the place..mark my words you will be
Love their stuff....lip smackingly good
The order requests were followed. The food was nicely packed. I ordered Chana Masala roti which was delicious.
This is a true authentic indian place. Really good food, great portion, one of the best in north york for sure.
Let me tell you that I have tried every roti place in the city. When I moved to North York a couple years ago I was sad because of the lack of East Indian roti shops - my favourite takeout. When I saw Bombay roti pop up on google eats I was THRILLED. The quality, the portion, the consistency and the spice level accuracy are simply unmatched. I m so happy they are here in Willowdale. Highly, highly recommend. My go to is the spicy mutter paneer.
Paneer Roti was delicious, good portion, would love to comeback here again. Surely one of the bests in North York.
Best taste and food.
Dont trust the people at this business. They lied to my face. I looked on Google Maps for an Indian restaurant near Yonge & Sheppard, and after finding this place I placed an order on their web site for the Yonge location. When I arrived at the Yonge & Sheppard address, they told me that the order went to the wrong location. Their location was new so it wasnt on the web site yet, and apparently they had another location on Yonge. He wanted me to drive 20 minutes to the other location to get the food, but instead I offered to place an order on a delivery service (at a higher cost to me) so it could be brought over and the food wouldnt go to waste, He was happy and agreed. The delivery service order went by default to the Yonge & Sheppard location though and it wouldnt let me choose the other location. He said OK just go ahead an order it anyway and theyd just make it again. Since the situation wasnt my fault, the person from the store called me the next day and offered to make the same order for free as a way of saying sorry. I accepted, and called some time later to take him up on the offer. He said that they were closed in the afternoon (I never heard of a restaurant doing that), and to call later to place the order. I needed the food then so I said never mind. Some time later I called again to take him up on the offer, and the person didnt know what I was talking about. He took my details and said hed give them to his manager to get back to me about it. I never heard back. I then decided to just go to the location and ask about it, and the guy there didnt know what I was talking about and even insisted that the location opened after I had placed my initial order (apparently Im a time traveller or something). He said to write them an email about it, and said I could get the email address from their web site. I went to the web site soon after and there was no email address to be found there. Neither on the mobile or desktop version. I also tried sending them a message on Facebook, but their page does not accept messages. At this point Im done dealing with these people. Its not so much about wanting to get free food (which was OK by the way), but the principle of offering me something and then going back on it. I will never go here again and deal with the dishonesty I encountered, and recommend others dont either.
Honestly, not so good taste, especially for the high price. Would not recommend.
