On Monday I bought a small cookup rice which used to be around $7 plus taxes and I noticed a sign saying new prices on menu and so I looked at it and saw that the small cookup rice is now $11 plus dollars almost double what it used to be so as I'm there I went ahead with the purchase only to find out later that I was charged $15.40 on my debit card and to top it off the food tasted stale and it looked like they used left over chicken and mixed it all up, I'm so done with this place see attached pictures.
I bought 2 egg ball and 2 fish cake from this place the egg ball had no taste and the fish cake was raw the batter that the fry it with was raw and they are expensive $3:50 fplus tax what a waste of my money
This is the worst food I ever had in Canada! I took fried rice and chicken with dal puri (roti). All of the items were stale and specially the dal puri was smelling like old grease. I had to throw most of it and puke the rest out. Avoid at all situations!
Worst roti I ever had. I got the dhalpourie roti and the breading was just falling apart it was very crumbly and hard. I paid 22 dollars for this. The goat is very chewy not tender at all not worth it all very very disappointed
Horrible horrible roti. The worse roti I have ever had. Tasteless curry, hard potatoe, hard chick peas..... Absolutely disappointing. Doubles was also the worse I have ever had... Hard like stone chick peas, tasteless although. What a waste of money. All went in the garbage.
This Restaurant is clean and service is good as always by the staff! Food is very tasty! Whether it’s the veggies, chicken or goat! Portion is excellent compared to Leela, Roti Roti, etc. In those places, u hve to pay for hot sauces, tamarind sauces but it’s watered down, whereas this place it’s very hot sauce bcz I like hot. Chowmein, Fried Rice, Fried fish, salad, fry plantain and Dholl Puri, etc. is excellent bcz I hve a good taste bud. Also, I am a very good cook too. To be honest, this place sells lots of poulouries, but doubles isn’t too much of seller bcz of the area and customer. That’s what I observed! No Restaurant makes fresh DBLS bcz the cook makes a bunch of them and keep them inside bcz I eat out a lot from many other places. Cooks are Guyanese and not Trini. Doubles isn’t a Guyanese thing but a Trini snacks but poulourie, and baras yes. This Restaurant cater as per customer’s need and location bcz u only cater for what u can sell. That’s what I observed. As for taste and cleanliness this is the place to visit. U will not regret, the portion and price is right. Drop in and see for urself. Awesome.
Food tastes awful. I will never go there again even if I am hungry. Goat curry has raw meat smell. Fish was not properly cooked. Tea is just suger water.no flavour of tea. Google said it's a Indian restaurant . But it's not .
Its the no frills version of a roti restaurant but the food was good .The old guy ,maybe the owner, was really nice.Satisfying quantity and quality. One of the very few locations that offer plain roti and dhal.Location is a bit hard to navigate by GPS.It is in the Jane Finch mall.Gotta enter near McDonalds.Deserves a try!
Best place for doubles and noodles.
Delicious dhal puri!
Food not worth the money they charge
Nice service and good people. I liked the food
They will not disappoint!!! It s a must to try here!
Tried Roti Palace for lunch today and it was pretty good! Had two fried bakes stuffed with some curry chicken and it was delicious!
The food looked like it was there from last night. There stingy with the portion. I asked for extra hot sauce and they charged me $0.50. The food was also cold. Never ever going back.
Worst experience
Food was amazing, old man is always positive
you gotta try their fried rice and jerk chicken, real Caribbean style
Good food
Great food
The food is amazingly authentic and the workers are wonderful! I had doubles and peanut punch and it tasted just like home!
Bad, Bad, Bad.....
Great jamaican food
Great food, reasonable prices. Cook is trini so the food is on point
If you are running out of options then its all right at best. It wasnt delicious or something like that. Its cheap and ready to go. The staff were okay.
Its ok You
bread was old n fish was not fresh
Its ok but sometimes food sits there along time before they bring out fresh
Not the best West Indian food. But its ok if youre hungry.
Great dine in
A simple metric for ANY West Indian restaurant is their doubles. If they cannot make simple fried puri and curry channa, I wouldnt trust anything else on their menu to be good. I visited Roti Palace at lunch for a couple doubles and (hopefully) a peardrax. My first warning sign was that they were not at all busy...and this is during peak lunch hour. My second warning sign was seeing a plastic bag full of puri sitting in the display case. Pros: - Clean looking establishment. - Neutral staff. They were not happy/polite, but at least they were not rude. Cons: - Fried puri is HEAVY(more like fry bake) - Puri is NOT fresh. They fry a batch at once and store it in a plastic bag. - Curry Channa is bland. - Only 2 choices of chutney(pepper and tamarind). both sauces are watered down and bland. - On top of the bad tasting doubles, they charge me $2.50 each. I would only pay that amount if it actually tasted GOOD. - Very little assortment of West Indian drinks. They didnt even have Peardrax. In general, If you have ever had a tasty doubles (such as from Roti Roti, Brampton Roti Shop or Leelas) before, you will NOT like these doubles. I will not be returning here.
Great food amazing people awesome customer service
Nice
Very good
I didnt go to roti palace restaurant. I was next door at another business. Facebook needs to stop being so invasive.
Food always taste just like old times!
Go here. No hype - no website, twitter, instagram. Just good food. Oxtail was gobbled up and had some goat roti for desert.
