Just okay. If you’re already in Toronto, there are so many better pizza places. Best thing here was the Caesar salad. The pizza didn’t taste good after an hour. Got super dry. Service was really nice, very kind and helpful.
Food was amazing as well as the service! We got gnocchi with rose and pizza, everything was delicious. The cocktail was also great!
Went here for a coworker retirement dinner. Place was easy to find and the star was very good. We asked to customize the pizza and they did it with no questions asked and did not charge us
One of the best italian restaurants I’ve been to, great service nice and friendly staff members and great food with great design and taste. 10/10 recommend and my favorite dish is the Pappardelle & fungi
Otto Trattoria is a small, quaint restaurant with great service but unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. We tried a variety of dishes, including the polenta fries, calamari, arugula salad, nobile pizza, and the pappardelle al fungi. While the calamari and pizza were the highlights of our meal, the rest of the dishes were quite bland. The staff was attentive and friendly, which was a definite plus, but overall, the food didn't live up to our expectations.
Made reservations for 1pm on Saturday, but noticed there were a few walk in tables available. The restaurant itself is fairly small. The food was very fresh- pasta made in house, same with the pizza dough with a wood fire oven. Our favourite dishes were the pappardelle funghi and seafood linguini. The prices were a bit on the higher end.
With the wood oven in the corner, excellent service and cute space, this place is a perfect spot for a date night or a place to celebrate an occasion. My party got a few apps and mains to share amongst all of us. For starters we got the warm olives, charcuterie board and calamari. The charcuterie board was packed full of meats and cheeses along with crunchy bread and some warm olives. If you’re getting the board, I’d skip the olives because it comes with it! The calamari was fresh and crisp with a delicious aioli dipping sauce, my favourite appetizer. For mains we got the pizza diavolo, parpadelle el fungi and the chicken parmigiana. The portion sizes were generous and the fresh pasta had an excellent chew to it. The pizza dough was fluffy but chewy with the perfect amount of char from the wood fired pizza oven. We asked for the chili oil to complement our dishes and be warned, it certainly packs a punch. Would definitely go back to try some of the other pizzas and pastas!
A nice and cozy place with some really good Italian food options. We tried their pizza which was really authentic and tasty. (Please ask your server for their chilli oil if you love a little kick) The shrimp linguine we ordered was fresh but lacked flavour however the gnocchi was pretty good. Many thanks to our server since he was very polite and attentive. Would surely visit this place again for their pizza tho. Overall a good experience.
Food could be better
Love the crust, one of the best pizzas I ve had in a while in the area.
The only thing thats good here are the pizzas. Dont order the food.
Food was excellent. Everything else (portions, price and service) was ok. I would definitely go back. Vegetarian options: There were a decent amount of vegetarian options available.
Fungi pasta was the best of all time
Pizza is top
Best pizza in the city. Shootout the legend
The fungus pasta was amazing. The atmosphere is very calming. We had a great lunch.
Used to come to the restaurant before new ownership. Food and service used to be great. This time we decided to try the new place and what a disappointment. We made a reservation and one of the two servers forgot so we had to wait 20 mins. Service was slow after taking our orders. They only had 2 people for a full house. Took about 10 mins to ask for water and black pepper. Food was bland, but I mean NO TASTE. We ordered the Risotto and had no flavour at all. We asked for some pepper, but it was still plain. The other dish was chicken parm and it was OK. Nothing special. For the prices you can visit a different Italian restaurant in the area.
Had Italian food in long time and had it at best place. Loved the pizza.
On Saturday June 29, 2024 we enjoyed a wonderful two hours dining here. This was our second visit, and we will be back again. Out reservation was for 6 pm, and though a bit early, we received a friendly welcome and were promptly seated. After sharing a delicious tasty Caesar salad, we opted to try one of the numerous selection of pizzas made in their wood-fired oven. In short, this was one of, if not the, best pizzas we had ever had. A definite 10. A bottle of wine made our evening complete. The staff here is friendly, fast, and very attentive. Our server Brian was excellent. Already looking forward to our next visit. Judith & Gary
Great restaurant
Went there after an event since I found the pizzas were good. We got there at 9:31PM and the waiter looked at my wife and didnt come out for almost 5-8mins by then to say theyre last call was 9:30PM and now are cleaning up. Drove 40mins from the event to try to make it for that to happen is ridiculous for 1min?? FOOD review is based on UberEats and is good considering it does come a bit cold due to distance. Weve had the Lamb speducci and pizzas which are good. Presentation is good as well. Atmosphere is nice its a small cozy place very welcoming. Parking is good as well lots of street parking and I believe there is a lot near by incase.
Tried the chicken parm, the meatballs and the pesto. Personally wasnt blown away by the chicken parm or meatballs but the pesto was delicious!
All good for this excellent casual restaurant
This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. Highly recommended for best Italian food polenta fries and fungi pizza Food
Best pizza crust I ve had in a while, super soft yet a good base for toppings. Both varieties we tried were great, particularly their white with spinach and artichoke. The tiramisu was a perfect finish to dinner. Will be back soon!
A little Italian gem in North Toronto. Far exceeded expectations! Wonderful food and friendly efficient service. A must-try. Tricolore pizza + alla vodka pasta were 10/10
I just paid $30 plus tip for a tiny green salad with chicken breast on top for take out. What a mistake. The chicken breast is so dry, Im choking on it. And the chicken breast is completely flavorless. The dressing looks like Italian dressing from the grocery store with something added into it. I have serious buyers remorse, and I will not return.
OMG SO GOOD, ONE OF THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANTS OUT THERE!!!
Best spot in town true gem
Cant recommend the pizza enough here!
Busy night so i knew patience was neeed. Pizzzas and apps were good. Risotto terrible. Service not much better. Not going back.
This is an authentic and delicious Italian cuisine, with fresh ingredients and excellent service from the staff. I highly recommend this restaurant. Can t wait to visit OTTO again
Took my mother for Mothers Day and enjoyed the quaint atmosphere of this restaurant. Food was good and service was prompt.
Went for Mother s Day dinner , last minute reservation and it was great. Small but lovely. Went a family of four and food was top notch. Pasta sauce tasted like homemade. I don t like red sauce at restaurants but this is the first time I can say it was delicious . We enjoyed everything . The only item we didn t love was the polenta fries but the red sauce to dip was so good, made up for the dry polenta . We ordered 2 apps , polenta fries and calamari, pasta a la vodka , and two pizzas and overall the meal was chefs kiss. Pizza was delicious. Service was good, and my martini was great. We will totally be coming back to visit . Parking: Parking on the street is the only way. We found a spot on a side street infront of a beautiful home Kid-friendliness: No kids menu we saw but plates are shareable
Definitely one of the 3 best places in Toronto to eat Italian foods. The taste was awesome.
Great food!
Brilliant food. Absolutely delicious. Bright lights and lack of music didn t exactly make for a cozy meal, but the food would make me come back. Service was stellar.
Excellent Italian restaurant, food was very good in a great setting.
Very very solid restaurant, just not perfect. You have to get their pizzas, the crust is insane
Food was good and wine was good. Service was great and it was a quaint little restaurant. Would go again! Parking was a bit hard however. There is limited green P parking right outside of the restaurant but there is also a hydrant.
Celebrating a birthday w family. Food great, service lovely Vegetarian options: Many options to choose from. Food : 5/5 |
The ambiance is delightful. Amazing service and amazing food. Chef s special is outstanding. Tricolore and seafood linguini are a must try.
Had a pizza with pepperoni, very tasty. It was prepared quite quickly. the drinks were delicious lemonade. We were very satisfied.
Really excellent pasta in this small, quaint Italian eatery. Bolognese was delicious as was the Mushroom Risotto. We will be dining again next week.
Pleasant restaurant that needs more attention to detail. The service is ok but could be better. Slow service while the staff seem to be chatting. I have been here 3times but will not come again. The pasta is so hard it is like chewing a semi hard rock. Way beyond al dente! 3 diners were upset by the horribleness of the pasta. Seafood pasta had minimal seafood. Not sure how this place can make it in the long run. We really wanted to love it! The owner needs to check in and fix the problems both food and staffing.
Had a great time at this Italian spot. The service was charming and super professional, and the cocktails were seriously good. Hung out with my friends, tried the Cozze and Shells Otto both were amazing. The flavors were delicious, and the food looked as good as it tasted. If youre into quality Italian eat, you need to try this place. Totally recommend. We will be back!
Had visited when it was under a previous name, but finally got back here under the new name and ownership. I was super impressed at how much better it is now, with fresh ingredients as well as truly authentic Italian recipes. Their Bolognese is a true meat sauce with excellent flavours, and their wood burning oven pizza is fantastic. Needless to say, this place will be back on my weekly rotation!
Very good food.
OMG the most AMAZING FOOD SERVICE AND VIBE XOXO
Great food and reasonably priced. Excellent pizzas as well.
Went there on opening night with a friend. We shared a Bone-in Veal Chop, Diavolo Pizza and Caprese Salad. Veal was cooked medium rare, as we asked and to perfection. Vegetables were perfectly seasoned also. Caprese Salad was crisp. The Pizza was PHENOMENAL, Authentic Neapolitan and reminded me of Pizza Libretto when they first opened, only better. Everyones had Pizza a million times but the Diavolo (Fior di latte, Sopressata, Black Olives) at Otto to me was top 10, ever. My friend and I also had 2 Cocktails each. Their version of the Basil Smash and Old Fashioned. Both tasted great. Great first experience under a fair amount of pressure on opening night. Fast Forward 48 hrs. Here I am again, this time solo and chose to sit at the bar. Ordered a Negroni and started the evening on a right note. My starter was the Rucula - Arugula salad with orange, fennel, pine nuts lemon vinaigrette. Again, crisp, fresh & balanced. Pasta was Pappardelle & Fungi - Porcini mushroom cream sauce & drizzled with truffle oil, shaved Parmigiano. Pasta was cooked al-dente and thankfully not swimming in mushroom cream sauce. Service was attentive, prices are fair considering the quality of ingredients. If this place continues to consistently bang out this quality food, Ill be there 3 times a week. Pictures below honestly dont do it justice. Stop by and show them some love.
Excellent food, great service, beautiful new restaurant. Will definitely return.
I can t say enough good things about this new restaurant!! We heard it had just opened and secured a booking for Mother s Day. The food was excellent, fresh and high quality. The service was on point; friendly staff and very attentive to the needs of the guests. We tried so many dishes on the menu which were all incredible and I have to say, the portions are very generous for the price! Cocktails were great tasting and refreshing- perfect for the summer! I ll be stopping by again for a quick pizza this week for lunch but can t wait to go back with my friends! Highly recommended. Great job Otto- looking forward to more yummy meals at your place!
This is my new go-to spot for Italian in the city. The staff is so nice and the owner is such a gentleman. I haven t had everything (yet) on the menu but everything (especially the pizza) has been authentic and delicious. 11/10 recommend.
I have gone multiple times - always great food and a wonderful experience.
One of the most delicious Peperoni I ate in Toronto. It realy taste the woodfire and it taste soooo good. The staff are so nice and the new owner is so gentle. I think I found my pozza place. Me and my wife had so much fun.
Fantastic! Pasta -pizza, lamb skewers for appetizer- we will definitely come back!!!!
Great meal.
Excellent! The food was so delicious. We loved it so much, we went here twice in one week!
Having been very loyal Piazetta customers, of course we wanted to try the new restaurant out. The new owner is truly professional, and the food top notch and we will back. Cant wait to try the pizza next visit. Exceptional food, bravo!!!
Great experience here yesterday! Was looking for a place to grab takeout on my way home from work and Otto had amazing curb appeal. Enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar while I waited for my order and the staff were incredibly friendly. The dining room is gorgeous and has such a cool vibe to it. When I brought the food home, my family loved it! We got the chicken parmigiana (gigantic portion!) along with a prosciutto pizza (looove the pizza sauce here), calamari, and polenta fries. Food was hot, tasty, and I appreciated the sustainable plastic-free packaging. Can t recommend this place enough. Yonge & Lawrence has needed a trattoria like this for a long time and I m so glad I discovered OTTO.
Amazing pizza! Can t wait to come back and try the pasta.
Cannot believe the quality of the food here! Pizza is just as good if not better than Neapolitan in Italy. Service is amazing. Menu is perfect (with very reasonable prices), cannot wait to come back to try the pastas. Tiramisu was the best I ve ever had (including in Italy). So happy this place exists in my neighborhood!!! Will definitely be here again very soon and very often!!
Great service and delicious wood oven pizza.
I was there with my Family and Kids. Service was perfect. Food was amazing, we had Wood oven fresh homemade Pizza and Veal chop! We will definitely come back and I recommend this to everyone!
I couldn t believe when I saw 5 star place, but it is, in fact, 5/5. Amazing food, service, everyone was quite caring and attentive. Nothing to compare with in the area.
This was the best restaurant find of so far this year! A warm ambiance, excellent service and above all else, delicious food! I went with my family and we decided to order four dishes and share al of them; rigatoni bolognese, papardelle and fungi, branzino and pepperoni pizza. The caprese salad and slalumi & de fromaggi was also amazing! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, David, whose a great host with extensive experience as a restaurateur. His team (bartender, server and chef) pay attention to the details which make this dining experience exceptional. Enjoy Otto Trattoria!
This is the best pizza Ive ever had in Toronto.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting Otto Trattoria, and I must say, it surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I stepped in, the warm and welcoming nature of the owner and staff made me feel right at home. The beautiful renovations added a touch of elegance to the ambiance, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. To begin, we indulged in a refreshing, crisp beer and a meticulously crafted espresso martini. Our appetizers, the polenta fries and speducci, were absolute gems. The polenta fries boasted a tantalizingly crispy exterior, giving way to a warm fluffy interior, perfectly complemented by the accompanying marinara sauce. The speducci, cooked to perfection, left me with an explosion of flavors, effortlessly melt-in-your-mouth. Served alongside a bed of lightly seasoned fries, it was a match made in heaven. The exceptional quality of the cocktails prompted me to try an amaretto sour, which turned out to be a refreshing revelation. Bursting with freshness and brimming with deliciousness, it was a true testament to the skill of the mixologist. For our main courses, we ordered the parpadelle & fungi and diavolo pizza. The parpadelle & fungi, a harmonious symphony of creaminess and rich flavors, showcased the chefs dedication to using fresh ingredients and cooking pasta to absolute perfection. Undoubtedly, it is a dish that should not be missed. As for the diavola pizza, it exemplified the artistry of a master pizzaiolo. The dough was expertly prepared, the crust achieved the ideal balance of crispiness, and the sauce boasted a delightful blend of flavors, with just the right amount of spiciness. A glass of perfectly paired pinot grigio elevated the meal to new heights, culminating in a dining experience that can only be described as perfection. The prices at Otto Trattoria are fair, considering the outstanding quality of the ingredients and the impeccable execution of every dish. It is evident that the culinary team takes immense pride in their craft. Words fail to fully capture the magnificence of my dining experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend Otto Trattoria to anyone. I am already eagerly anticipating my next visit; this is a place I simply cannot stay away from.
Lovely dinner at Otto, we will be back!
Restuarant has good vibes and service is friendly. Pasta was great too. We ordered fries but I guess the server misheard us and we got a salad instead (we thought it was free until we realized), however it was veryyyy good lol so it was a happy accident!!
Fantastic service and great food. We sat outside which was quaint. Our server was a newcomer from Ukraine and very pleasant and friendly and gave us amazing service.
The food and service is amazing. The only issue this place has is that you leave with your cloth and hair smelling Smokey from the kitchen.
Small cozy Italian restaurant on yonge. Had the mushroom pizza and noonma pizza. The fresh pasta was cooked perfectly with delicious sauce. The neapolitan pizza had a great thin crust in the middle with very fresh cheese. The bread app was a bit stale, but we were able to ask them to warm it up in the oven. Tiramisu was tasty, but the portion was a bit small. Overall, its a great gem of a restaurant for good Italian eats, I will be eating here again.
Great Restaurant. Great service. We were a huge party who booked the place for a birthday dinner. It was lovely. The food was excellent and the ambience was cozy and friendly.
We are so happy to have discovered this place! So far weve tried the Spaghetti al Pesto, Pappardelle & Fungi, Rigatoni Bolognese and Boscaiola pizza. Everything has been excellent, lovingly prepared with delicious, fresh ingredients.
If a place leaves you wanting to come back and try more dishes, they are doing something right! Pssst ask for that chili oil, the green one - different than the ones I have at Italian restos in Toronto. I loved adding that in - one might say I had it a little too much haha but the items below with a touch of this put my south-asian tastebuds in a happy place These are the items we tried: 1. Pizze Bianco - Fungi: basic but yummy! Mushrooms, truffle oil, white base wood oven pizza 2. Papardelle & Fungi: creamy mushroom pasta - flavourful! Only thing I d do is add chicken next time 3. Gnocchi - Al Gorgonzola: my husband tried it from a friend and said he would go back for this one. I don t like the item Gnocchi in general but I would wanna try this one out next time. The thing that I didn t love is that you gotta buy the starter bread and usually in Italian places in Toronto like these, it s a warm welcome gesture. Then even when you buy it, not good bread. We went as a big group for a bday - considering the chaos that sometimes happen with a big group, the service was great and the food was delish! Gotta give a heads up thought, the place was a bit tight knit, wouldn t recommend for big groups especially if someone has to get up to the washroom. Definitely a cozy vibe though that is perfect for a date night or girls night.
Spectacular bolognese, and a great pepperoni pie. Very rare authentic Italian flavors for this area that is generally devoid of good options. Will definitely check out the restaurant in person soon. But delivery came fast and piping hot. Zero complaints.
Great restaurant, group of 5, we ordered a selection of appetizers and can t tell you what was best because they were all great. Love all the finishing touches on each plate. Definitely try the Picci Cacio e Peppe and the Mushroom Pappardelle. The pizza s were unique with great combination of toppings. Definitely a 6 star.
5 stars for the amazing food. Had calamari, spaghetti bolognaise and papardelle funghi. Will definitely come back. Prices are reasonable. Music is a little loud but this is the norm in many restaurants unfortunately. Overall, highly recommend Otto Trattoria.
Food and Atmosphere was good, service needs work. Sunday 7 pm reservation for 4 people - they took our drink orders right away. We were one of the first tables for what seemed to be their unofficial second seating. Our food orders followed shortly. No apps other than warm olives as meals we ordered were heavy. It took almost 90m for our food to arrive - when we asked our waiter at the 1hr mark, he said it should be out shortly. I pointed out that tables of 4 and 6 who arrived after us received food before us (entrees were similar). He said it was because they didn t order starters - while the olives were good, they were at best a 1 min prep. Anyhow, disappointed because it s close to us and the previous establishment (Pizzeria Trattoria) had their act together. I hope management will work together to address this moving forward.
The are causing traffic with their dumb patio outside seating this place is a nightmare to get through after 3pm
This is a great restaurant with excellent food. The kind of place you want to return to. There are just very small things that they could fix in their service area: having the same wine classes for everyone in one party (they served wine in different glasses) and wiping water droplets from the table that spilled while the server filled the glass.
Excellent restaurant. Excellent food and service. My only constructive comment is that I hope they figure out how to control the smoke in the restaurant from the wood burning ovens. The smoke smell lingers on cloths for days!
Just had Otto for lunch. 3 pastas and pizza - all amazing - fresh and delicious! Will definitely be ordering again soon!
Great food, both the pastas and the pizzas were excellent. The service was great! The staff was courteous, attentive, fast and obviously very good at multitasking as the restaurant was quite busy. The atmosphere was wonderful. If youre looking for a nice Italian restaurant I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this one.
I m sorry but the food wasn t good. We went for dinner for the first time. I had pesto spaghetti, it was so greasy, my daughter had tomato pasta, I like pasta al dente but this one was undercooked and bland. My husband had some pasta alla vodka, that one was decent actually. Service was fine and it s a cute place with potential.
