Wonderful experience here. Came on a Tuesday for oysters at $1 per pop. They were small (which I like), fresh, tasty, and came with a selection of 6 yummy sauces! Ordered the fried pork belly, which was so delicious. Pan fried cod, equally delicious, flaking and beautifully marinated. Had the salmon donburi rice, topped with a healthy portion of greens on rice, and the honey toast to top off a delicious meal! Portions are great. Nice snackable and yet sufficient variety. Enjoyed it. Service is amazing! Make reservations online!
We had a birthday dinner at Nome the other day and food and service was amazing. Oysters were delicious! We have been going here for years even after moving up north.
It is yummy but honestly a bit pricey and also th amount is a bit small. But freshness and tasty level is undoubtedly great and also the service is nice but a male waiter was a bit rude to ask us all to order drink but not let one of which ordered later, I mean what if she didn’t want alcohol? Anyway, the food and drinks and atmosphere is amazing and we had a great night ☺️
This is a really great restaurant for small plates. Everything tasted really delicious and the portions were also good. Favourites were the korean style beef tartare and the pork belly. The rest were also good but this was our overall favourite. Because it's such a busy restaurant, there's a 2 hr seating limit. Drinks were also very good!
Friends highly recommended us to try this restaurant, we made reservations last night.!When we entered the server said we have two hours for dinner. We ordered different kinds of food to try like deep fried pork belly (melted in your mouth, just the right temperature), unagi risotto (the texture is very rich, the risotto is different than the Italian style), tuna brioche ( once you start to bite there are so many flavors), baked oysters (must try, I like the creamy mixture), Napa burger sliders ( we saw so many tables ordered this plate, we also tried and found out it’s very tasty), ox tongue and honey bread with cream. We also Sangria and Peach flavor soju, both drinks are good. All dishes have distinct flavors and highly recommended to make reservations before you go for dinner.
Got taken here for my birthday and had such an amazing time. We had left the raptors game since they went over time and they has the game on the screen so its was like we never left. The music was sooo good and the waitress was soo kind. Everything was clean and aesthetically pleasing. Drinks and food were 10/10 this place is great for people like me who cant eat large amounts and also great for people who can eat a lot and bits of everything. Will definitely come back!
This location never disappoints. Great food, cozy vibe, and consistently excellent service. A must-visit every time! Love their $1 oysters on Tuúeday
We came for the buck a shuck deal for oysters, the environment was very nice and the service was friendly. Food was yummy and delightful, we got the east coast oysters, calamari and popcorn shrimp and crispy pork belly. The food was very tasty and I am excited to come back here and try other things on the menu.
Very tasty food and great service
Peak frfr
Have gone here normally for their buck a shuck oyster deal but tried their sushi (pictured is the seared salmon, also tried their lobster fantasy, both amazing), japa-burger and bulgogi tacos were also SO good. Highly recommend for delicious eats and drinks
Expensive first date place. Interesting taste food, small portions Food
Will not go to here again. Three of us visited the restaurant this Tuesday and we tried the oyster. The day after all of us got sick. Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, and muscle weakness. Very terrible.
Best Korean ribs in the city. The Japo burgers were phenomenal. Excellent atmosphere also.
COMPLAINT IS FILED WITH DINE SAFE AND INSPECTION IS ON THE WAY TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. On November 27th, 2024 me and my friend headed to this restaurant for buck a shuck oysters. As a result of that both of us got an outrageous food poisoning. When were dining ACTUAL MULTIPLE WORMS were found on both ATLANTIC AND ESPECIALLY PACIFIC OYSTERS. When asked how and why?! were told that it is absolutely normal for pacific oysters to have worms (they live ON the shell and then make their way to an actual oyster). Turned out it is ABSOLUTELY NOT FINE AND NO WORMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOUND IN THE OYSTERS OR ANY FOOD. For comparison we have been to multiple oyster places in Canada and USA and worms were never observed by us. Nonetheless we proceeded with our dinner only to figure out 2 days after insane food poisoning which led to 39* fever and throwing up. Complaint with pictures and proofs is filed with Dine Safe (Toronto Health Organization which controls restaurants and provides permit for safe dining). THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE, their oysters are contaminated with worms and bacteria. Absolutely unbelievable. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
Had TERRIBLE experience at this place on Wednesday night. Me and my friend ordered the buck-a-shuck oysters, experienced absolutely HORRIFYING food poisoning the next night with fever, muscle weakness and 3 HOURS of non-stop throwing up. This was the most traumatizing food poisoning I experienced in my entire life. Actually, we found multiple forms in the West Coast Oysters, when we asked what those were , we were advised that those were calcium worms and these oysters are totally safe to consume. I have been eating oysters for 8 years now and never experienced food poisoning from oysters or had worms in them. Please avoid this place at all costs!
My go to place for oysters! The service staff is always friendly and speedy. The menu is more on the pricier side, but the food is stellar. My go-tos are the Nome Fried Chicken and Lucky 88 oysters :)
Delicious fusion cuisine. Really like the seared salmon roll and the tiger shrimp. However, the quality fluctuates quite a bit and it often takes us a long wait time good place for dating :)
Oysters were tiny and not properly shucked, portions were small for price however japaburgers were good.
Natto dish was amazing! Loved the stringy natto! Flavours were delish. Favorite dish of the night. Salmon ginger roll was also great. Will come back for more! Vegetarian options: Loved the salads and the natto dish!
We got the japa burgers, nome fried chicken and bulgogi tacos this week. The tacos and fried chicken was really good, full of flavour! We didn t like the japa burgers as much since the buns seemed stale. Overall good atmosphere for a Monday, starts to get crowded closer to 9-10pm.
Pricey-er for what it was but overall good atmosphere, service, food and overall experience
Fantastic drinks and oysters, service is excellent
Food was amazing! Got the bulgogi tacos, short ribs, and burger sliders. Will definitely be returning.
Great place for vibes and conversation. Drinks are great to enjoy with much of their menus, think of it as a snack bar. The food itself are subpar for the price and is average at best, but the concepts themselves will catch some intrigue!
good food, limited sushi selection though, great deal on oysters some nights.
I made resos here for my entire family of 28 people and they did not disappoint. My wife and I love there food and wanted to share our experience with them on our wedding day. Grace along with her fellow staff(sorry I am not good with names) did an amazing job catering to everyones needs. The kitchen staff was on point and kept the food coming in a timely manner. Every dish was perfectly prepared. My entire family just loves this place now. Big heart felt thank you to everyone! Highly recommend this place for a date night to any big occasion that you want to celebrate. They got you covered.
Parking: Nice place Food
Visited a few days ago, the dishes were cold when they reached our table. Not to mention that the servers ignored us many times when we asked for the bill.
We went to this restaurant a few times already, love the food here, especially the oysters with the buck-a-shuck deal on Tuesday and Wednesday. The honey butter potatoes was anazing which we ordered all the time we were here. Highly recommend the japa burgers and the honey butter corn as well. Marinated black cod was ok, prob give it 7/10, flavor not so special, the portion of it quite small for how much it s cost. We weren t on Lina section today but she was lovely and very sweet, she came and checked up on us couple of times. Love how positive her personality is, she smiled every times she went to our table, made us feel so welcome. For sure will ask to be in her section next time. The reason why I didn t give them a 5 stars is because our server for tonight, if I m not wrong, her name is Elisha. She was unpleasant. Not a single smile from her since we were sat, no checking up on us through the dinner, every time we ask her something her face looked like she were mad at us.
Service felt a little cold. Food was quite good and flavourful though. I dont remember what its called but I highly recommend the dish with sweet tofu-like pudding. It was creamy and melted right on the mouth. Sashimi tasted fresh as well.
Delicious
Cool place, nice staff, mid food. Super mid. Too salty!
Must go. And if you do make sure Derek is your server. He will take care of you. Cheers
First, let me begin by saying. BEST SERVICE EVER. Staff were super polite and quick with all services and needs. And this is my first time at the yonge St. location and was just as amazing! Still think Nome has the best mac and cheese in the city. Had many items and loved them all.
This is my go to place. The food is always consistent and delicious, whatever you order. Honourable mentions; their sushi rolls and sashimi are always fresh, oyster, japa burgers are a must! Also, the spicy Mac and cheese. I love Nome and everyone that I bring with me is always blown away by them.
Parking: Green P nearby Food
The unagi risotto was delicious as always. I wish it had more of a cream flavour but the unagi balanced it out nicely. East coast oysters were just okay, but they have a good selection of sauces you can put on that goes beyond just the regular with ponzu etc. The fried chicken was delicious and juicy - got the spicy honey garlic and it wasn t spicy at all.
Food was amazing, we had beef tongue, shrimp, apple salmon sushi, japa burgers and bulgogi taco, just enough for 3. Should expect $40+ per person, plus book a table prior visiting the restaurant, this place is popular. Paid parking only, GreenP parking lot #403.
We ordered three sliders, risotto, half dozen oysters, sushi, and fried chicken wings. The sliders were average, oysters were fantastic, sushi came with a weird white sauce on top, but the worst was the risotto. As a fusion dish it just doesnt work. The rice was mushy and it lacked flavour. It almost felt like warm cream was mixed into the rice as opposed to cooking the rice with the cream. I was very dissatisfied with my meal and would only go back to have oysters. On the plus side the patio is really nice
My family and I used to love this restaurant. We were very excited to go for dinner last night. Never have we ever been so disappointed in both the food and the service. The sushi and sashimi was fishy and the service was slow. Too bad!
I liked this place! We had an enjoyable time sitting on the rooftop patio. The food was tasty, though a bit overpriced. (Then again, what isnt these days?? ) The spicy beef ribs were, indeed, spicy... but just the right level of spice to give you a bit of a kick. The service was great: the waiters were very attentive, coming by regularly to fill up our glasses with water. Id be happy to go back and try some other dishes!
We love coming to nome! Enjoy the good and vibes!
We came here for the buck a shuck on Wednesday. For the price, the oysters were decent. The person shucking the oysters though didn t do that great of a job. Some of the oysters were cut and there were bits of shell in them. We also got two sides, the honey butter chips and honey butter corn. The corn was amazing! Edit: Changed ratings cause my wife and I got sick from the Oysters.
I was so happy we decided to pick NOME it was fantastic, the food is so delicious & the service & staff excellent 5 Stars
I love this place and will always come back! Convenient location, great menu, and super friendly staff! Food : 5/5
The tiger shrimp and bulgogi tacos are wonderful. But avoid the oysters. Ordered 60 and 1/3 of them end up super tiny and/or not fresh. The front desk ladies were rude too.
Been here a few times, feels like I m waiting to get into a Miami club. Honestly not sure why. Food is okay. Atmosphere is good, but needs to shake the attitude
The worst service experience we have all ever experienced! Went in for an 8:30 reservation for 12 people. It was my friends birthday and I picked this place. The server was HORRIBLE she didnt check in on us or even offer water. She did not care that one of us had a gluten allergy. When asked for Gluten free options she suggested edamame. we tried to ask to sub for options but she really did not care enough to even ask or try to accommodate. Some of us waited 35 minutes to get one drink. The food was MID at best. Asked for Soy Sauce and she said they have a soy sauce shortage.. imagine a Japanese restaurant not having anything like even cutlery. Never again.
We got lucky to find two spots as walk ins on a Thursday evening. The grilled oysters were very good and the sushi portions were so big we were sad we couldnt finish. Creative rolls to choose from, made from fresh ingredients.
Great food and menu, but a little pricey for the portion sizes
Came in a walk-in on Tuesday, and got seated immediately. The oyster sauces hit different Frfr, and that shrimp slider burger thingy was crazyyyyy so good would recommend. Service was amazing the staff dealt with me proper, shout out my server Lina always checking up made sure we was good. Only criticism is that if you tryna get full this ain t the spot but I would come back again just for the flavours of the food.
one of my fave restaurants, food is amazing quality with Beef Bulgogi Tacos and Beef Tartar at the top of my list. service is very good, knowledgeable staff and attentive.
Finally back after a looooong time - glad to see some of the menu items I previously enjoyed are still here. Make sure if you are planning on coming here with a reservation, and expecting to sit upstairs/patio that you specifically ask if that area will be open that day as I didnt mind sitting downstairs - I did overhear several parties inquiring about whether or not they could be seated upstairs though when they arrived for their reservation Service was amazing - hostesses were super friendly, as were the servers! Be aware that the seating is quite tight due to how popular this place is, and how the tables are placed! ONTO THE FOOD -[TOKYO MULE - SUMO SIZED] $16.30 The original refreshing ginger and lime moscow mule with their added Japanese twist! Sumo Sized is basically double the alcohol portion but I honestly could have used triple or four-times of it since I like stroooong drinks Very enjoyable! Almost dangerously enjoyable haha -[6 MALPEQUE OYSTERS] $14 (not pictured) Love the choice of sauces that comes with the oysters but a small thing that could help both the restaurant/customers is labeling each sauce! Our oysters were on the smaller side but I mean, I have no idea when oyster season is so that could be expected right now Not a grain of sand to be found in my oysters which is great -[DOUBLE SALMON MAKI] $20.80 Grilled marinated salmon, cucumbers, avocado, asparagus and topped with smoked salmon, horseradish mayo, onion chips, and aonori (dried green seaweed) I wanted the flavors to work better together but it was just fine - probably would get a different roll next time Each piece is quite packed with ingredients thus making it tough to eat in one bite -[KOREAN STYLE BEEF TARTARE (YUKHOE)] $15.80 Thinly sliced beef sashimi with a korean style soy sauce dressing. Topped with a fresh egg yolk and crispy seaweed chips I think the beef was a bit too long in length for each slice as it was a little tough to scoop some up with the seaweed chips Very well seasoned though - Id order it again but Im a sucker for yukhoe -[BEEF SHORT RIBS (GALBI)] $19.80 I typically almost never order meat dishes with bones in them simply because Im just too lazy to eat around them but my goodness, if I followed that rule during this visit, I would have missed out on trying some of the best galbi ever No idea what is in their sauce to make it so good but the sauce/smokiness work so well as a flavor for this The meat was also really tender, and easy to bite off for even someone (ME) who is horribly out of practice at eating off of bones -[4 BAKED OYSTERS] $16.80 Oven Baked Oyster with spinach cream sauce I loved this dish originally when I had first come here, and prior times as well - still very good They do arrive pretty hot as they are baked so eat with caution!!
Great food, not cheap but worth it. Definitely a great choice for a celebratory meal
A good restaurant overall for hanging out with friends. The place could use some small updates like fixing the leather seats with holes in it. Also would recommend calling your clients at 15 mins mark for the reservation hold time, which is a standard practice for most restaurants, instead of expecting clients calling in since they are most likely driving/parking at the time.
I had Fried chicken It was to oily Food
The atmosphere an service were good. I enjoyed their oysters but everything else such as chicken, gyoza sushi was mediocre at best... Will not be going back!!!
Used to be so much better. The quality of food and service has gone down drastically. For the price and amount of time you have to wait for food is ridiculous..and its on Wednesday. Food came out evey haf an hour for each item..and was served cold sliders. There is way better place in the area for food and price. Will not go back there and would not recommend.
I just love this place. Very unique dishes. Food is delicious and service and atmosphere are great.
Food was mediocre and hot foods were served cold, servers have an unfriendly attitude and are unprofessional. Paying $250 for this is disappointing. Service and food Is not what it used to be, theres definitely better places in the area.
Vegetarian options: - Sushi - mac and cheese can be made vegetarian Food : 5/5
The food is delicious
Was over charged for cocktails, Double check your Bill. Wont be going back!
Food, ambiance, and service was exceptional with friendly and attentive staff members. Checked in with my group if they want to place additional orders. I always love coming here and the Don Mills location when it comes to hosting birthdays
The place has a typical izakaya, casual vibe. Pretty decent amount of seating in their dining room. I made a reservation for a Thursday evening, but probably could have gotten a table as a walk-in. The service is attentive and everyone on their staff contributes to providing a good guest experience. Can t say that I was a fan of the food as much. Tried their apple salmon sushi rolls and I found that they had too much mayo flavour in my opinion and wasn t really too impressed by the quality.
Amazing food. Everything was delicious. My Favorite was the burger sliders. The calamari and sushi were good also.
The food was great. But we were there for barely an hour, and there was one hour left till they closed, the waiters started taking away things off the table and we werent done. They first started with the soy sauce, and when we asked for it back they gave us one small serving, then they removed the rest of the ginger, and my friend still had a couple of pieces left. At that point we understood they wanted us out very fast.
I ve been twice and they ve done the same thing each time. I took my office here in December for our holiday dinner. I made a reservation for the 8 of us. After an hour and three quarters they told us we need to leave because they next seating was there. They didn t tell me we had a two hour seating when I booked the reservation or when we were seated. Tonight they did the exact same thing. When I left tonight I double checked my reservation confirmation to make sure I didn t miss a two hour seating limit notification (which I didn t). They should set expectations properly rather than making their customers feel like they re being kicked out. There are many more polite ways of doing this. The way they do it is not one of them. The food is good, which is why we went back, service is mediocre. I can get better service and good food in so many other places that make me feel like a wanted patron. Don t know if I ll be back again
Fun atmosphere and good service... a nice to have sake with your meal
We came here at 12am, theres only one type of oyster left. Its small, but its not bad. Seven different sauces are good, I like the spicy one in the jar. 4.5/5 The Korean style beef tartare was mediocre, too salty, and the fried nori slices were not crispy. 3/5 Tiger shrimp is good, each big, sweet and sour. 5/5 Peach blossom is not bad, sweet, but cant taste wine. Its just a drink. 4/5 The restaurant was crowded even though it was a Tuesday night.
The overall food is not bad, the portion is just right In terms of novelty, it is lacking, and the price is reasonable
Couldn t try anything. Came at 9:30pm and was told the restaurant is closed? Thought the hours are till 12? Waste of time.
Amazing food as usual. Love the sauce in japa burger! Sometime music can be a bit too loud
I love the music and atmosphere in this restaurant, and the oyster and beef tartare are awesome.
Fresh Sashimi, good flavor of sliders. Overall very satisfied.
we had once of those unforgettable bad service experiences where the server screwed up our order--repeatedly, then argued with us it was our mistake for ordering the wrong thing even though we explained we used the correct terminology off the menu she was confused herself and tried to blame us for her confusion, it became obvious she was a new hire but we have never had bad service here before, sadly it ruined our meal despite the good food we left in a hurry without ordering more because of her... on the bill no name for this unfortunate person just the cryptic ID of server 789 for management info
Being told multiple times that we have only 2 hours to enjoy our meal (at front, after being seated, twice during our meal) is really bad customer service. There are too many great restaurants in the City with better service, ambience and food. I ll never come back. Nomé at Shoppes at Don Mills is great!!
Atmosphere was great. Service was lacking as we waited almost 30 minutes for drinks to be served and was then later rushed out after 2 hours. Beef tartare was a definite no. Weve tried other menu items before and they are good.
The service has definitely gone down hill at this location, and the last couple reviews can attest to this. To the server who served us, lets leave the attitude at home next time. You have single handedly ruined the vibe and our mood from the moment you greeted us.
Worst experience ever. So sad to observe that the service quality of this place is declining. We only ordered 2 raw dishes that do not require any cooking but ended up waiting for 45 minutes.
I went back and the food quality has definitely dropped.
First time here and the experience was great.
Derek has been a delight everytime we go
we got tuesday oyster special and deep fried pork belly which were really good
Sushi and bulgogi tacos was just okay and baked oysters were not that good. In addition, they have slow service and the table was full off food but they still try to squeeze all the food. Oysters were not that fresh
We have been coming to Nomé for years and always have an amazing time. This time we went for my husband s birthday. Every dish was delicious and the service was excellent. We will be coming back again and again!
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants. Check out their rooftop - really nice in summer time. Great menu, easy reservations made online, very friendly staff and good service. And they have me dollar oyster nights - you can t go wrong!
We decided to come here with another couple after the flowers arranging class. The food is still delicious, the service is still very friendly and always good from what I remember. Must try their pork belly, and sushi rolls also a great addition Thank you to Meghan and Stephanie (hopefully I dont remember their name wrong) for taking care of our table last weekend.
not good
Went here for dinner with coworkers (group of 10). We had a reservation and were seated in the room upstairs, which was nice and somewhat private. The servers were very attentive and were accomodating with splitting the bill amongst all of us. The food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the japa burgers (sliders), which were very good but tasted like regular burgers and didnt taste japanese. Thr marinated short ribs were my favorite, the meat was thick and cooked perfectly. Also got the double shrimp roll, but I wasnt a fan of the sauce they put on top of it. The double salmon roll, on the other hand, was much tastier. The octo-wasabi had just the right amount of wasabi flavor as it wasnt too strong. Lastly, we got the Nomé fried chicken. Our server recommended the curry mayo and wasabi mayo sauces. Both were really good with the chicken, which was super juicy. I also split two pitchers of Sapporo which yielded two pints of beer. Gratuity was included into the bill since we had a large group and I ended up paying around $60. Overall, Nomé provides a social environment to gather with friends or coworkers and have a drink while sharing small plates of food. The staff offers great service and were very polite and friendly. Update: Japa burgers are a lot better when I went today (Apr 2024).
Amazing service from Derek!!!
The $1 Oysters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, featuring Torpedo Bay and Malpeque, led me here. Despite being the cheapest oysters on the menu, they tasted fresh, although some contained traces of dirt or shell pieces. The Crispy Pork Belly melted in our mouths with its umami. Its marshmallow-like tenderness was a refreshing change of pace from the typical crispy texture associated with pork belly. Equally satisfying were the Japa-Burgers, Nomes homemade sliders. The smoky BBQ and garlic mayo sauce were creamy and light, complementing the ribeyes chewier parts. The buns were soft, and I also liked the crunchy garnish on top of the patty. I would recommend making a reservation, as we had to settle for bar seats. Since this is an izakaya/tapas, do be mindful of the prices when ordering.
Wasabi mayo and the mac and cheese changed my life.
I recently visited this place and had mixed feelings about the experience. The vibe was a bit strange with Britney Spears music playing while UFC matches were showing on the TVs. It felt like an odd mix for an oyster bar. The oysters themselves were good, but the other dishes we tried gyoza and two of their special sushi rolls were just average at best. The service was okay, not particularly outstanding or memorable.
The Tuesday oyster special for half price deserves an extra star. Ive visited both locations and the pictures are from the most recent dining experience. It was quite busy this evening, so we found it difficult to call a server. We only got our waters at the end of the meal. The menu selection is great and has a nice variety. I had high expectations, but I was a bit disappointed by the quality of the ingredients. The bread of the mini japa-burgers, if I recall the item correctly, was a bit stale. I was really impressed by the oden though. It came out on a beautiful dish and was filled with a variety of cute, colourful fishcakes. The soup was warm and the flavour was precise.
Good sushi!
It feels a bit like a hodgepodge, and the menu uses elements from all over. Its not unpalatable, but its not very delicious either. Its okay for people nearby to eat, but its not worth a special visit. The service is friendly.
It s a wonderful place! The food is great especially the sushi and sashimi! Love the salmon! Always try to do a reservation because then they won t let you sit at a booth or a desired place that you want to be seated at even though no one is sitting there. Otherwise love the food and the atmosphere!
Great Izakaya for food and dishes. They have a lot of selection from sliders to seafood to sushi. Recommended is beef sliders, Apple salman, tako wasabi, oysters. Their drink selection is good but often cocktails are out of stock. We also found the cocktails are not the most unique
Over charged trying to charge us a bottle of 100 sake bottle because they thought I m drunk but instead it s supposed to be just 4 bottles of sake instead of 1 bottle of a hundred dollars fun time but hecareful when you are paying.
This place was really good! The food tasted great. The flavors were just right. The servers kept coming to fill our drinks again. We had a nice time eating with our friends. The place had a nice feeling to it. We liked the atmosphere a lot. It was a wonderful time at this restaurant. We want to go back again soon
Amazing oyster
Food and service is decent, but a 2-hour dining rule, which is actually enforced, is ridiculous - for a couple who are spending $200-$300 on a night out, by the time we had some drinks and appetizers, we were asked to leave, without an opportunity to even order main courses - we had to go to a nearby restaurant for dinner.
Always great food, great service!
Amazing food. Love the sliders and tacos :)
Great food, especially the sliders. Definitely do a reservation to cut on the wait time
Really enjoyed the vibe. Great food.
The bulgogi tacos were so delicious and flavourful! 100% recommend
delicious food
Delicious small bites and the buck a shuck Tuesdays and Wednesdays make this a great place for a night out.
Lovely atmosphere and food!
My husband went on a wednesday. The $1 oyster are kinda small but good thing they have another promo. $10 for 6 pcs west coast oyster. We enjoyed all our order tho it is pricey.
Great food. Great service. Good music on a Tuesday night.
Nice atmosphere, pretty good food. Try the oden. Parking: Green P lot immediately behind the building. Food : 4/5 |
Definitely on the pricey side but loved the creative touches they added to the items on the menu and the quality of the food. Restaurant ambience was lovely and felt classy. We had the Seared Salmon roll, Cali Donburi, East and West Coast Oysters, Crispy Pork Belly, and their specialty sakes. Food took a bit to arrive but it was absolutely worth the wait. Servers were also very friendly. Sometimes took a little to get their attention as it was busy but generally very attentive. Consider coming with a group of friends as they have many shareable options. Overall a great experience, will be coming again in the future. Parking: Paid parking was available behind the restaurant when we arrived, be prepared for a bit of a walk especially on weekends.
Delicious short ribs and sliders.. alcoholic cocktails not consistent
I went there with a group of friends and we all love the food and the atmosphere here.
Great service especially from G (dont want to write her full name) excellent flavours. Parking: Green P paid lot and free street parking.
The pinnacle of yonge and sheppard. Dollar oysters Tues and wed. How can it go wrong? Pair with a nice pint and japa burgers. You re saved.
Delicious food at a great price! Food came out quick. Ambiance was nice but music was very loud, hard to hear the person I dined with. They are very popular and will have back to back reservations. Make a reservation & don t be late because you ll have 2 hours to finish your meal before the next reservation arrives. A fantastic experience overall!
Oyster nice
A more upscale atmosphere compared to Nome location 1. Feels alot smaller inside as well. However the food and service is just as great.
The worst service
DO NOT GET THE OYSTERS!!!! Our whole group got sick!!
I come here often on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the $1 oysters. I have eaten almost everything on the menu. The food and drinks are yummy and they come out really fast! I love the mac & cheese, tako wasa, unagi risotto and the lychee iced tea. (I could drink like 10 of those lol) Every sushi I have had was really good too!! Service is great and helpful. They might be a little understaffed so sometimes you just need to have a little more patience, especially on those $1 days.
It usually takes a long time to prepare a serving of oysters. The oysters per knife are very small.
I have been to Don Mills location before but reserved a table at Yonge because it was closer to my friend and when we arrived, the hostess led us upstairs which in itself was ok. Soon we found out that there was a group with a kid who was screaming all the time. The reservation, as with all other places, its for 2 hours. We ordered our food and drinks and received our food fairly quickly. The server came quickly to remove plates as soon as we finished which started make us feel nervous. Once we finished our food, she quickly came back with the bill and machine to take a payment. I told her we felt being rushed and we still had an hour. Anyway, I dont think I would go vack yo yjis location as it was small and donwabt to feel rushed. The DonMills location is to me is much better.
Everything that they serve is covered in some sort of nasty creamy mayonnaise. Completely inedible. Drinks are way overpriced and the food is just deep fried garbage. Food : 1/5
Always a friendly place to go for 1$ oysters !
Let me start off by saying I have been to this place twice before many years ago and even though it is far for me, I always craved their food. I had such a good experience the first two times I went there, however, a lot has changed since. If I could give 0 stars I would, after finding many bugs on oysters. This was right before the holidays and my fiancé and I have told the server, she was very calm about it and said it was just baby shrimp getting stuck to the oysters. She asked if we wanted new oysters, I could not even eat at this point as my dinner was ruined - all I felt like doing is vomiting. My fiancé ordered some other appetizers and told me they were just okay. I went home to google how baby shrimp looked like, and it was definitely not like those black little bugs on oysters. I feel like this is a serious health hazard. Nothing was done by the server, other than her taking back the oysters so I don t have to see the bugs crawling on them. Not even an apology and we were fully charged for all other appetizers my fiancé has ordered. It is truly unfortunate because I use to love this place and their food. We will definitely never come back to this type of environment. It ruined our time and dinner.
In 2022, we discovered our new Goto favourite restaurant Nome Izakaya@Yonge. Great food, wonderful service from their friendly staff & manager (David) and cozy ambience. We love the delicious Tiger Shrimp, flavorful melt-in-your-mouth Black Cod, Oysters, Sashimi, Salmon roll, Spicy Galbi, Oden, Japa-Burgers & more. I shared our favourite hotspot with friends & relatives. Today, we re celebrating at their Don Mills location.
The service and the atmosphere were very nice. The staff was kind and friendly. We had dinner at the second floor which had some background music, but allowed us to talk freely. All the dishes we had, were tasty and original. Definitely planning to come back.
Everything great but a little bit salty!
Jappa burgers is a must order.
We tried the Japa burgers, beef bulgogi tacos, and oysters, and each dish was an absolute delight! The Japa burgers were bursting with flavors, the beef bulgogi tacos had a perfect blend of savory and spicy notes, and the oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a delicious dining experience!
Amazing food, excellent service and fun and lively environment. There was a DJ there on Saturday night. Truly enjoyed my experience there. A little small with tables really close together. Will definitely return.
The Tuna shrimp and Seared salmon rolls were delicious
Pleasant experience with getting quickly seated then served. Our waitress Jessica was helpful with our food items. Also the cleanliness of the restaurant is what to be expected where dinning at any type of restaurant. My partner and I also enjoyed our food and atmosphere of Nomé Izakaya. Food items rating from most to least favourite. -6 Oysters malpeque (9/10) specially with the side sauces that came with. -Sashimi salad (8/10) wished more lettuce, but the salami was very generous. -Nomé fried chicken with wasabi mayo (8/10) -Bulgogi Tacos (6.5/10) just reminded me a Peking duck, but not as tender. Drinks -Jade fox (8.5/10) -Strawberry peach (2/10) really watered down, no flavour Overall enjoyed our time and food.
Love the food. So good. It was Tuesday when we went there. They have oyster for $1 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. However, they ran out of the West Coast oysters at 6 pm already. We had East Coast oysters. We also ordered the tiger shrimps and lobster sushi roll and chicken wings. All so very delicious. The server was excellent and earned extra tips from us. Will definitely return for the food.
Best vibe of all the bars at Yonge/Sheppard! Even have a DJ spinning great music on weekends! and nothing can beat $1 oysters!
Amazing
The vibe is good for group gathering. The staff was really nice, willing to help. The food was nice as well. They provided different kinds of sauce for the oysters which was really good.
Food is delicious!! Service was erratic, limited dining time due to back to back reservation. Food
Menu is full of greasy options. Service poor. Not worth your money or time
