Its a great izakaya! I happened to come across this restaurant by myself as I was passing by looking for Japanese food.The atmosphere of the restaurant gave me a Japanese feel, and the food was excellent. There was not only sushi but also a variety of other Japanese foods, which was very good! Also, Japanese music was playing inside the store, and the store staff had great customer service!

Today i took my parents to eat at a sushi restaurant for their first time and we were absolutely in awe from the hospitality to the delicious food. our server was amazing, very attentive of my parents struggling to use chopsticks and gave them forks lol. they take polaroids of you of course with your permission and you can chose to keep the photo or write a little message on it and stick it around the restaurant. Very cosy and intimate atmosphere, one of the chefs told us theyd been hit hard by the recession and how it s been difficult so hopefully all these amazings reviews, guide you through their doors to experience what they have to offer!

Food here is amazing! Ordered omakase sashimi which is super fresh, soft and even the decoration is so pretty! All the foods are tasty! This place is cozy and neat, servers were great(especially the girl with lighter hair explained well what kind of sashimi is). Highly recommended and wanna visit again

I have been this restaurant 10times, this time due to i have two times vaping, after waiter said its not allow i didnt do it anymore. but when i leave the chef scold me so long time about this vape things. Is this restaurant replace the customer and clerk place? i have come to this restaurant more than 10 times and bring so many friend coming here, the stuff even dont have the basic respect, dont willing even speak politely. No exaggerate scold me. never will come to this restaurant again.

While transiting the region we stopped at this charming restaurant. There were 5 of us, including 3 children, who arrived and were seated outside which didnt really bother us as the weather was hot. Kind staff concerned about our comfort. Meal served without a big wait and our youngest was entitled to two additional candies at the end of the meal to his delight. The chef even came to explain to us the difference between the fish. Excellent cuisine, ultra fresh fish, soup and delicious salad. I highly recommend this address to anyone living nearby or just passing through. The prices clearly match their cuisine.

I ordered some chirashi around 5pm and it was so expensive. Lunch price is $23 and dinner price is $37. The lunch and dinner dishes are the same, but the price is $14, but I dont know why they differ. A meal of chirashi for two with a few pieces of sashimi on top of sushi rice costs $75 + tax + tip. Isn t this too much to do? It seems like profiteering at ridiculous prices. The sushi rice tasted like bare rice with almost no sushi vinegar added. Extremely bad. Its a place I dont want to come back to.

Good sushi place with more gimbap-like rolls. Softshell crab roll is great, and rolls are overall on the pricier side. Closer to a 3.8/5. 10% cash discount. Came for dinner and ordered the softshell crab roll ($20) and the spicy assorted roll ($27). I believe this restaurant is operated by Korean people, which makes sense since the softshell crab roll looks exactly like gimbap instead of normal sushi. Nevertheless, it still tasted really good. The spicy mayo sauce used on the tuna, salmon, and scallop rolls were a bit too salty for my taste. Overall, while I think this is a decent sushi place, I think the price is bit too expensive for what its worth.

TUNA TATAKI $17 Very good. Slices of seared tuna microgreens, mango, red & green onions, sesame seed. Though there couldve been slightly more mango. 5 pieces. TEMPURA APPETIZER $13 Very crispy, great batter. 3 shrimp with 6 pieces of mixed vegetables. Would recommend. RAINBOW DRAGON $19 Assorted fish on top of a roll with shrimp tempura, crab meat, cucumber, avocado, tobiko, yam. Large. 10 pieces. Would recommend. DANCING EEL $21 crab meat, cucumber, avocado, tobiko, yam, eel [top] - vocado, katsoubushi, tobiko. Large. 10 pieces. Would recommend also. UNAGI AVOCADO ROLL $10 Eel, avocado roll. Good. 6 pieces. We went there due to a high rating, but found it over-rated. Liked the Hokkaido Uni a lot, but the sushi and sashimi were disappointing. Very limited parking makes this less desirable.

Freshest sashimi and sushi I have had in a very long time. Their chicken karage was fresh, lightly battered and crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. I ordered four rolls (all without raw fish as it was for my children) they were fantastic, Japanese/Korean fusion, best of both worlds. For the adults, we ordered the Sushi & sashimi moriwase. For its price, for its portion, we were stuffed. So full! Definitely will visit again! Staff were amazing, super attentive and always around if you need something. Make sure you make a reservation tho, the place was PACKED the moment we arrived.

Pros: excellent sashimi. The sushi was also fresh and well-crafted. Cons: disappointing gui platter -- we got a plate consisting of 1 hearty salmon fillet + 4-6 thin, bony, meatless fillets and we felt we were served the scraps of the day.

Value for money is decent, with sushi flavors being around average. Overall, the taste is pretty fresh, but the sea urchin was slightly off. Crazy Girl sushi dish taste great, but the flame seemed more decorative than practical. Sadly, the lobster tempura lacked any actual lobster meat.

We love this sushi restaurant. Sushi is always very fresh and tasty and presented in a very lovely matter. Service is fast and friendly. Restaurant can get busy so recommend a reservation especially for evening. Probably the best sushi restaurant in the Yonge and Sheppard area. Hidden away on Willowdale instead of busy Yonge street, definitely worth looking for ( next door to Paisanos Italian restaurant if you are looking for a bigger landmark as reference)

Stopped in for sushi lunch. Sushi is almost as good as the little shops in Japan. Great sushi pizza, sashimi board, tempura plate with lots of prawns. Yummm! Service is warm and friendly and immpeccible English. Think the server was JBC, friendly efficient and attentive. It is a small place. That is what gives it its atmosphere of intmacy. Great place for Japanese food.The menu is large with lots of variety.

A tiniest place with the most fresh sushi! I guess my Mom and I got lucky to get a table. Every other person who came in after us got turned away because they had reservations. There is lots of people in and out either looking for a table or takeout. The staff were very nice and always available for your needs. The food was delicious and flavorful. Food came fast and very hot (temperature). I love my food very hot, so this made me very happy. Parking was a bit of a challenge. There are no spots on the main road. This could be considered among the top sushi spots Ive visited in Toronto. The food is of high quality, though the cost is a bit on the higher side. Nevertheless, I believe its worth paying a bit more for a better dining experience, as I do not dine out often.

We went there around 1:30pm on Sunday. Not packed, didn t have to wait. We ordered tempura, which was very good, crispy and the size of the vege were huge! My friend had Unadon (grilled eel) and I had sushi regular combo. The sushi were great, seafood was fresh and nicely cut. I would say it was one of the restaurants serving food close to authentic Japanese sushi. The decorations of the restaurant were nice, but not very spacious.

Weve tried numerous sushi restaurants in North York. Michi Sushi ranks right at the top. It was busy (a good sign!) Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Tempura was crisp, tender, and not oily. Sushi, sashimi, and rolls were fresh. Wed definitely come back!

What a wonderful gem this place is - we came here as a larger group and they were very accommodating. Every single thing we ordered was fresh, delicious and you could just tell it was made with great quality ingredients. Wow what a hidden gem, located on Willowdale near Yonge & Sheppard. Their price is not cheap but not expensive, but at this medium price level, you will not find better sushi. $57 for the Kaisen Don (includes uni) & Chefs selection sushi $70 (14 pcs) are my 2 go-to orders here. You will not find better sushi in Ontario for $57-70 before tax & tip. Cant really splurge on $300+ Omakase all the time, & cheap sushi just doesnt do it for me, so this is perfect

We had reservation for bar seating. After seated, we were told to shift our seats over a little to make room which is okay. After settling and ordering, we were then told to stand and move over one seat to again make room for the party that was arriving. We had to remind waitress for tea twice and also waited long for our food. We did not even order too much as a party of 2. The people that arrived after us, that we had to shift seats to make room for, even got their tea and order before us. The waitress gave one edamame appetizer complimentary after waiting for long, but at that point we were already having a bad experience and there was a clear preferential treatment for others. We tried this restaurant few months back and enjoyed the food. But this past visit was not a good experience

Amazing! One of the best sushi restaurants in Toronto. We have now dined here on numerous occasions and each time we had a great experience. You can t beat this place in terms of quality. We specifically make a trip from Etobicoke to dine here. One of our favourite spots to eat.

This is our go to sushi spot. Best in the city, and were blessed to live 5 minutes down the road. Ive been to plenty fresh sushi spots in Toronto, but this place takes the cake. Also dont stay just for the sushi, their Udon is absolute amazing. 10/10

Pricing is a bit on the higher end for casual sushi, however everything was fresh and tasted great. The Orangeville roll (not pictured) was better than expected and would recommend as a must try. The staff were super friendly and service was excellent.

Michi Sushi is one of my favourite go-tos for my sushi cravings in North York neighborhood. It is tucked away on Willowdale Avenue (beside Paisano). Very causal, rustic atmosphere, and the staff and chef are friendly. Their fishes and seafood are always fresh; we enjoy ordering the sashimi omakase, aka chefs choice, and they serve uni! I used to always order this flaming sushi roll where they lit the roll literally in flames in front of you (didnt see it on the menu this time). The cold soba was also delicious; I love my soba with lots of wasabi ^^ It was very thoughtful of the staff to give the two of us one bowl each of broth with ice cubes for dipping the soba :) Overall, we always enjoy our time at Michi Sushi. We will definitely visit again soon :)

I had a fantastic dining experience at Michi Sushi in North York! On a bustling Saturday evening around 6 PM, the patio was half full with plenty of reservations. I ordered chirashi and a Bento box platter, and both dishes were delightful the fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. Additionally, I must mention that the presentation of the food was exceptional. Each dish was beautifully arranged and garnished, adding an extra touch of elegance to the dining experience. It not only tasted delightful but looked like a work of art on the plate. The attention to detail in their food presentation truly elevated the overall dining experience, making it even more memorable. The service was outstanding; our waitress regularly checked in on us, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Despite the only drawback of the parking situation we had to park on the street a few steps away since they dont have their own parking the overall experience was exceptional. With such delicious food, attentive service, and impressive food presentation, well definitely be returning to this restaurant again!

It was truly the best sushi restaurant Ive ever had!!! All of the sushi rolls are so delicious and the tempura is crispy and delicious. I feel like it would be a waste to be the only one to eat it, so I am leaving this review hahahaha.

Ordered 2 sets of the Sushi & sashimi moriwase for 2 couples. The waitress asked if we could add them together on one platter. We agreed and when it came, the platter had odd number of sushi/sashimi which should not be possible as it should all be divisible by 2. Made it a nightmare to split. They also gave a tiny dab of Wasabi for the 4 of us. 1 cup of water was also missed. Kindergarten must have been difficult to pass. Food was satisfactory. Good, but pricey.

I come here to celebrate birthdays. Love the seafood selection and its always fresh. Highly recommend and best to reserve a table ahead of time. Parking: Theres only about a handful of parking spots behind the building. The gap between buildings are a bit tight.

I came here on a Friday night as a group of 7. The place was very busy - basically full when we first entered, and so busy throughout that they had to decline a group/told them there would be quite the wait considering no one was about to leave and a couple reservations were set for later in the night. The place itself didnt look that big at a glance, and in terms of cleanliness, the seating areas and tables were clean but you could note the dust/small spider webs near the vents. Overall, this is a pricier sushi spot but I definitely appreciated the quality of the food. I ordered the SUSHI DINNER DELUXE which included 12 pcs of sushi plus either 6 tempura rolls or 6 spicy salmon rolls, and I chose the spicy salmon rolls as theyre my favorite! They were so good, really spicy, which I love. The assortment of sushi was quite nice including salmon, tuna, shrimp, BBQ eel, calamari, and truthfully, some others that I cant distinguish just by look/taste if you dont tell me what they are. However, despite not usually being adventurous with all types of raw seafood, I must say everything was very fresh and nothing had a fishy odor to it! I should also mention that my meal came with a miso soup and salad, which everyone got as well, minus the one person at our table who ordered a specialist roll for their dish. Service was fair but I didnt feel it was the most friendly. Sometimes I felt like our server was a little impatient with us/looked like she didnt want to be there. Fun fact: 10% discount when you pay with cash! Candies included upon payment (never had that kind before but they were really good fruity taffy type candies).

One of the most delicious sushi I ever had!!! Very fresh, beautifully made, not greasy and not too much rice in rolls. We tried Kalbi, red dragon and beef tataki. It is a small but very nice restaurant and has become my go to sushi place for sure!!!

Best cozy sushi place ever!! The food and the service were great:)

High quality sushi and simple service for an omakase style sashimi platter. Price was high for this item and it was not delivered as an incremental experience, and so the experience was considerably lessened but the fish was very fresh. High quality ingredients and a cheerful Japanese-style atmosphere make for a worthy visit.

Cute little spot with high quality ingredients! Servers were nice, and yes everyone greets you when you enter or leave the place :)). The Takoyaki was top notch, had one of the best california rolls. Recommended for small gatherings.

Truly a hidden gem. Unassuming because of its tucked away location, this sushi spot was a fantastic experience all around. The staff was extremely friendly and service was quick. The food was truly delicious and the presentation was spot on as well. Limited spots here but because of it, it gives it a very cozy vibe with soul which can be hard to come by nowadays. Would highly recommend to anyone that is in the area. I look forward to going back again.
