The food was meh, not bad but not good. The server could not look more annoyed to be there. I had to ring the service bell 4 times to get my bill. Not coming back
Had take out from this restaurant twice, and both times, I have had great experiences. The food is very fresh, and the customer service was always great. Value for the price is also very nice, seeing as you can get a decently large platter for a reasonable price regardless of how big the party size is.
We ordered the sashimi with 4 different kinds of fish and shrimp tempura and spicy tuna maki. The sashimi appeared and tasted very fresh. The tempura was crunchy on the outside and very tender on the inside. The spicy tuna was great as well. The decor has a traditional japanese look and very clean. Overall a very pleasant experience. It is worth a visit. 🙂
Seems to be a Korean-owned sushi restaurant. Not many people dine in, so I assume they primarily do takeout. Fish does not taste flavourful for sushi or sashimi, compared to other sushi restaurants. Portion sizes are fair, but prices are on the high side. Decor is a bit outdated and they could use a renovation. I would normally give them 3-stars, but they gave an extra salad and soup for free, along with ice cream. So I'll give them 4-stars. They also offer cash discount.
Only 2 tables including me. I have the hot sake and gyoza. The quality is a average, not outstanding. 2 waitresses and no service at all. 1 was even lying down on the chairs to watch tv. If you are living close, no harm to try. If you are not living in this area, no need to come.
As I travel to new Japanese restaurants, I look for a few things. Washroom cleanliness, food temperature, etc. I was surprised the rice at the bottom was fresh and warm, generous 1/4 avocado, but lacked octopus and sama. Tea could be hotter. But was great overall.
The sushi quality is very big, it is tender and when eaten, it does not feel saggy. There are assorted variety of fish, within just one sushi boat order. We ordered "Love Boat (A)" for take-out, and will consider to purchase from this restaurant when we wish to eat sushi again. Very well prepared food and very delicious!
Great place, we placed an advance order of 70 pieces of sushi, sashimi and rolls. The fish quality was excellent and the price was great. I would recommend paying in cash as you get a great discount. The staff is very friendly as well. Would definitely be coming here again very soon for our sushi fix!!
Food is authentic and delicious with very friendly and wonderful services! Would like to come back for sure
Toronto Yes, I started a sushi restaurant for the first time in Toronto. A restaurant inspired by the experience of a sushi chef at Korea Plaza Hotel.
I got tempura shrimp rolls shrimp seemed raw and stale sushi easily fell apart but they did give me more than I payed for
Sometimes we went to there for special dinner with our friends. Its good place for very comfortable meetings. Food
best sushi + Korean food in Toronto! Ive know the chef since 1988 and he is still the besr chef in GTA!!!
great food and service!
Great customer service, the guy was super helpful when I came yesterday. Thank you! Food is good and come with good quantities.
Great food and the staff was so nice
The food is not that fresh but the price is high. Terrible service that you can hardly find waitress for service and I have to refill water myself. Terrible experience.
Very nice lady. I love her!!! Thank you so much
Had the Sashimi lunch. Just the right amount of food, good quality.
Good times
For our family who does take out sushi nights every other week, we were quiet shocked. The sushi rice on the whole tray we ordered was rancid. Awful moldy aftertaste. Sad since the reviews for this spot seem fine.
Its so delicious. Its a place I want to go again~~^^
The Lion King Roll is soooooooo good. A truly hidden gem. We will keep going back. Food
Great food and atmosphere.
Service good but food and over charge
Reasonably fast service and above average food. In addition to the Japanese food, one can try out their Korean selection as well. They are quite good.
People are so nice and food is generally good. For sushi, Nigiri is great but too much rice for Maki.
We have been ordering party tray for my family in the past 3 years, excellence taste and very nice service.
The best Japanese & Korean restaurant in Scarborough. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Foods are very fresh and delicious
I went there for a meeting and the food was delicious. I ordered the sushi boat and added a la carte dishes such as spicy stew and bibimbap, and the sushi and nigiri quality were good. I wondered why it was sushi in Toronto rather than Japan, but when I tasted it, it was above average. I thought it would be similar at other places, but when I went to other sushi places and saw that it wasnt that delicious, I think this place does it well ^^ I am willing to go again. The servers voice was so loud that I was surprised for a moment, but he was still quick and friendly.
Fresh sushi and good service. There are booths for 2 people or rooms for 4+ people which I love! Follow @Torontomunching on Instagram for more food reviews!
Good place!
Got a large order with the family and there was a mistake in one of the items. We ordered seaweed salad and they gave us grilled salmon heads instead. When family member went to pick up the food, they seemed confused what was in the order. Perhaps better organize your orders. Overall the food was quite good. Except the zucchini in the glass noodles tasted like ashtray.. Im not sure if something was wrong with the zucchini or someone was smoking while cutting them. Tasted disgusting. Well try the restaurant again one day but if its the same Ill rewrite this review with less stars. Mistakes happen. Hopefully theyre not smoking while cooking.
Its not as good as it used to be, dishes has changed and I think got smaller, used to get tea and salad but didnt get last few times we were there, but I guess economy is to blame for that.
I got the chicken teriyaki Bento box and eel specialty roll. The chicken was very dry and would not recommend. The eel specialty roll was good. Vegetarian options: Soft tofu soup
Very good food and nice atmosphere. Dish presentation has improved for the roles. Attentive and gracious staff.
Great restaurant for a good Japanese sushi meal. They have great sushi boats. LLBO - great place the catch a drink as well
I was given a blue fin tuna and it was good value for money and tasted very good.
Great as always
Loved it. Im now afraid of how often Ill want to visit.
Good food, cozy environment, and friendly staff
First time trying it, very good! The sashimi is very fresh and the overall portion is just right. I look forward to going there again!
Not very pleasant services.
Bad experience and would never come here again. Came with our reservation of 24 guests and there was only 1 waitress and 1 chef. Food took forever and was rushed. My aunts had to get up and bring the cutlery, water, and wait our food. Really disgusted by this experience and would never recommend to a friend.
Foods are fresh and reasonable price.
good fusion of food with korean and japanese dishes, good value for money and excellent service.
quite good for the price.
We ate here a few months ago. The food was ok but pricey. What we especially did not like was the experience when paying the bill. We came to try this restaurant for their 15% off promotion for the grand opening. But when we were about to pay they told us it was for takeout only. Nowhere was this stated on their promotion signage. We would not go back after this poor experience and dishonest treatment. (You can see the photo with the promotion in the gallery. There s no limitations to the promo being takeout only in the signage.)
I really like this quiet family run restaurant! I come here for their vegan options so I can t speak to the freshness of the other items, but the vegan options are great, always fresh. The staff is polite and welcoming. We order quite often from them and the taste and quality of the food has been consistent. The staff is very attentive and the service is fast. They have private booths/rooms available, which are great during the pandemic.
Stopped in here on my way out of Toronto with some family friends. The restaurant was really pretty, the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff was very friendly. I wish I could come here all the time but it is too far from my house :( I got one of the bento boxes and it was sooooo yummy. I definitely recommend it!
Pretty disappointed by the food here. Ordered two Maki rolls and the Korean beef stew. The sushi was ok at best but the soup was terrible. Tasted like licking a salt shaker and very small considering with tip it was alone $20.
Their bathroom is very convenient!
Fantastic food as always and fast, friendly service.
Very cute, family owned, authentic Japanese sushi. Close to work, I will definitely come back.
Got the chirashi Don lunch special. Sashimi was a bit chunky but fresh. Not much tuna but lucky to get white tuna instead. Definitely would come back.
Great service! Amazing sushi!
We ordered the R4 110pcs sushi combo for take out. Great variety of rolls & flavours! Absolutely delicious & fresh! Will come back again!
Amazing food and customer service
friendly service, great food at a reasonable price with large portions. they accepted our substitutions to accommodate our allergies. all the employees wore masks and did thebest they could to keep distance.
Very nice owners, rolls are ok, wouldnt suggest the sashimi there.
The restaurant has been standing for many years, the food is of high quality and the prices are reasonable.
Amazing food, always fresh and delicious. Service is excellent, prices are fair and the place is always spotless. Had a really great time eating here.
Got a take out 50-piece sushi and handroll platter to share with 3 people. Definitely had enough for 3. Taste was pretty good and so was variety. Comes with a side of noodles which was also very flavourful.
Had a great time. Decent price for good sushi. Got the salmon bento and wasnt disappointed
This place is really a hidden Gem! the Culture is really family-oriented and the food is, ah! SO GOOD!!
A small family restaurant serving amazing Japanese/Korean food. Fish is really fresh and the variety in the sashimi/sushi boat was quite surprising. Worth it to check out if youre in the nighbourhood
Food was tasty. Service staff always friendly.
Very nice people, a Korean take on sushi, a little different from Japanese but very similar and very tasty.
This place is a total gem! We drive by all the time and finally decided to get lunch. The Special Maki rolls were awesome. Well be back to try the sushi and sashimi next time
Every time I go to Yoko, the food is very good. So many options. Vegetarian options: The usual Japanese vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
Blue mountain is amazing we loved it so much. Lion king is pretty good too. Large portions. We ordered 3 maki but it s too much for two people. Excellent service!
Was looking for a sushi place nearby our house and wow did it live up. Cant wait to try it again.
Stopped by for lunch take out during December of 2020 and the staff were friendly and helpful. Its family run and recently changed hands. Food quality was very good, making me wish I tried this place earlier. Will definitely be back :)
Fresh and tasty. Had the Love Boat B and it was filled with lots of sashimi, sushi and minimal filler like some places. Would recommend .
Ordered the angel maki and some miso soup. Been coming here for years and new owners are awesome too! Service was fast and the guy even brought it out to my car cuz I forgot to go inside portions were full and big! Will definitely be coming in the weeks to come, hopefully dine in opens soon too. I just wish they made it like the old owners did, like mixing the crab and lettuce in sauce before rolling it. Was still great tho!
Very good Japanese restaurant. Good choice for party trays during the pandemic. Reasonable price with great Shushi. Highly recommended.
I was there to pickup an Uber Eats order. They gave me a free hand roll while I was waiting for the food. Thank you. Very tasty.
When Ninja Sushi retired I went looking for another sushi restaurant. Of several others I tried, this is a notch above in flavour, presentation and quality. My family also agreed as they wolfed down a large platter. This is under new ownership and the hostess has an amazing memory. I remembered her from Akana Sushi 4-5 years ago and she remembered my family. I ordered the P2 platter and they threw in extras at no charge. Their variety of fish was more than other sushi restaurants and tasted better. They gave plenty of wasabi and pickled ginger, and there was an ice pack at the bottom of the tray to keep the sashimi cool and fresh. The price was surprisingly low for such quality and I found out that they were having a new opening sale. If you have a craving for quality sushi you should take advantage of the sale - you will not regret it at Yoko.
First time at Yoko Sushi and it did not disappoint! Quality fish and variety sums up the P2 platter. I like how the platter is quite balanced with its rolls, sushi, and sashimi. I d recommend this spot to anyone and will definitely come back for more!
Very good very kind Full support very happy
The best sushi in neighborhood.
This Japanese and Korean restaurant is my family s go to place! The owners, chefs and waiters are incredibly friendly, and everything we order is delicious! Love supporting this small business! Their serving sizes are also quite generous!
I went there a few days ago and they were friendly. I was satisfied with the taste and quantity. I recommend it^^
Ordered the Yoko Bento set and it was perfect for my daughter and I to share! Sushi, sashimi and rolls were delicious and presented well in our take out boxes! Service was quick and very friendly. We will be back for sure!
Friendly services and good sushi/sashimi. My new local favourite!
Chinese people are not used to eating
Tonight I decided to grab YOKO for birthday dinner and everyone loved it! The tray (Dynamite rolls, Spicy Salmon Rolls, Futomaki, California rolls) and Japchae was under $60. Good quality! I asked the gentleman for extra ginger and he gave me a very generous amount! Will be back soon! Ps. Love their spicy salmon rolls! Delicious !
Not bad simple Korean-owned sushi spot. Menu has a nice combination of Korean and Japanese food. Bento boxes everywhere and their tempura selection is quite nice! However service can be hit or miss because they consistently only have one server there, even on Saturday night. This lead to frustrated servers which lead to curt service at times. Apparently the place is under new management. I do like how peaceful the spot is, and plenty of spacious free parking. Price is not cheap, but acceptable commensurate to their quality.
Great lunch specials!
Yammy, oishi, eat very well.
Kind service and good food !
I dont know if we just went on a bad day, but we were very disappointed by this highly rated restaurant. We opted for the Love Boat D, which came with Uni. It was 20 dollars more than the Love Boat C. The uni tasted terrible. Im confident it had gone bad. The scallop was good. The salmon was OK? But one of us got a scale in our mouth and I was constantly picking tendon(?) pieces out of my mouth. Tuna was frozen. Two of the rolls were a yam roll and a cucumber roll. For 120$ I found this overpriced and below average quality. We tried out best to finish what we could but we didnt even bother taking the leftovers home.
Great food and service! Looking forward to going back.
Nice place, good prices, decent food. It s not the best, but it s a good lunch option and the server was nice and efficient.
Really good beef noodles
fresh ingredient, but super overpriced. im too poor for this
Best sushi/ Japanese restaurant ever!! Just been there with my girl.
Tight.
Theyre all about filling rolls, authentic korean cooking. Most importantly this restaurant is quiet and delicious! Perfect date place and lovely place to bring family.
Awesome lunch specials (weekday or weekend) Korean run - so some side dishes have a nice Korean twist to them Cute and warming atmosphere, love the booths with privacy curtains Attentive and friendly staff
Good Japanese restaurant
Great food, professional and friendly service
Good service. Good price
Nice little quaint place for lunch. Food is great and price is fair.
Fast and pleasant service with good quality fish at an affordable price. I would not say it is the best, but it is definitely well above average.
Its great and tasty...
This is one of our favourite family restaurants! I dont know where they source their sushi from but it is the freshest in Toronto - the only better sushi Ive had is in BC. Been to so many sushi places and always go back to our lovely Yokos.
I have never had sushi as good as this. EVER. PERIOD. The service is amazing and the food is just to die for. I always order either the salmon dragon or the avocado dragon.
Great Authentic food! Everyone is so nice here and they have really good flavourful rolls. I recommend the red dragon maki!
The service was quick and the food was fresh! I ordered a maki roll with crab on top for myself and my father (Take-out only, I dont usually order crab/imitation crab because I personally dont like how it tastes) and the crab actually tasted fresh and wonderful! The maki as a whole was delicious and well-crafted. Each piece stayed intact and the various textures meshed well together. I always pass this place on my way from work and only just visited out of happenstance, and Im so glad I did :) Seems like new management is there now too, as says the sign out front. Definitely recommend this establishment for great, quick, delicious sushi
Delicious food. Large quantity and very excellent price!! Support small businesses
By far the best takeout sushi in the area! I have been dining here for 20 years and was recently nervous because it is under new ownership...but it is just as good if not better than before! The rolls and hand rolls have more fish than rice, generous portions for sure.
very quick in making the order. very friendly. The sushi, sashimi, roll combo come with very good meat, sushi, and roll (especially the roll). Ordered Lion King Maki and its very big and creative.
Good food, cozy booths. A little outdated in decor, but the service was lovely and the portions were generous. LOVED the Korean pickle served before our meal. A great little surprise spot on a Saturday afternoon.
My go to for maki.rolls
Was served a spicy tuna roll that was made with rotten tuna. It smelled like hot garbage and tasted foul. After one bite I spit it out and complained. They offered to replace the tuna roll with something else but I returned the whole plate (Why would I want to chance the freshness of any of the other food at that point??) They then asked me to pay for the spoiled food to which I informed them that I would pay but would also be contacting the health department. They then changed their position and agreed not to charge me for the food portion (I paid for my drink). I reported them anyway. They did however continue to insist that the tuna was fresh and didnt seem to care that they might make someone sick. Stay away folks! Not worth the risk.
no good. dont go.
Very fresh ingredients, definitely made to order. You will receive complimentary desert on the house, most importantly, price is good
Very quiet place with great customer service
I would never go to this place again, and never recommend anyone to even eat anything in this restaurant. I ordered a medium party tray yesterday and it cost me $46 after tax. The sushi rolls in the party tray was terrible, containing almost no good stuff to eat. Most of the rolls were cucumber rolls, some of them were stinky spicy tuna rolls (after read other peoples comments I realize why they make that tuna rolls so stinky, because only by making them so spicy will the stinkness be covered. we throwed out all of those tuna rolls, cant eat them at all! ), and some other rolls I dont even know the names but made of fried yams. I also ordered a black dragon roll which should contain eel and avocado, fish roes and cucumber, however, we only see very little thin piece of eel and fried yams inside. Everyone was so disappointed about the food quality and we dont want anyone to have such bad experience like us. This restaurant should closed down with this kind of bad food quality and bad faith in selling sticky fish in the food. We throw those stinky rolls already, but we decide to report to health department about this. I wish thered be a negative score to give to this restaurant, even one star would be too much for it! Never recommend to anyone! Your money can be wasted anyway better than this!!!
The spicy tuna was so stinky and we ended up throw them out. the sushi rolls was pricy and filled with fried yams. not even avacodos in the rolls. so ridiculous to make rolls and even sell it like this. Never go to this restaurant ever again. and not recommend to anyone too. I wish I can give negative points to this restaurant. one star is even too much for it.
I find this place a little pricey, but the ambiance has that authentic japanese vibe to it. The staffs are all nice and their food is pretty decent, nothing too worth noting about.
This is one of my favourite sushi restaurants in the North York region. The sashimi is always very fresh and thickly cut, and the tempura is always crisp with the perfect ratio of batter to shrimp. Ive been going to this restaurant for 10 years, and its always nice to see that the quality of their food is consistent over the years. The staff is pleasant, and quick to respond to different requests.
I love this sushi restaurant!! The staff is so friendly and the quality of this place is great. They ve been around for a while now if I m not mistaken :) definitely try it out!
I ordered the dynamite roll which was huge but did not taste like any dynamite roll Ive ever had. I got a severe stomach ache hours later and was fell very sick. I dont think itd go back.
Needs more vegan options.
Their yam Maki is is absolutely fantastic! A delicious blend of sweet and savoury with a crunch! Mmmmm. You have to try!
Great service. A hidden gem for a lunch meeting.
The food is okay. For the price which I paid and the quality which I get, dont match
Delicious sushi and amazing service. Will be back for sure!
Best spicy tuna roll on the planet
Awesome place with a very welcometh staff
Amazing restaurant.
Service was bad
If you are into variety, go for their daily specials. Also, they have the best tempura sauce in Toronto.
Food and service is always great. Great spot for a quick lunch.
