Food is not bad, sounds fancier than it actually is. Do not recommend the injeolmi tansuyuk, we had to send back our plate and our friends too as it comes out not crispy at all and the batter is undercooked. The yukhoe (raw beef) is pretty good but heavy on the gochujang, which personally, made it hard to taste the beef. Service was not bad but they definitely were confused when we celebrated a birthday there

Weve been at this place 2 times. The fist time, when it was recently opened, we actually had a very great experience with the food and service likewise. However, when weve visited the place recently, it was surprising disappointment. The food is ok at most and the service was one of the worst weve ever experienced. There were 3 waiters for the crowd of 33 people in the restaurant at the moment (Ive actually counted, lol) and they moved very slow. For instance, weve waited for the water to be served for 20 minutes. Not good

Everything was really delicious Especially those truffle oil fries. The sauce that came with the fried chicken was excellent. When I came with 6 friends, there was a seat across from me. If you want to talk to your friends, you have to shout loudly. The music was so loud I could barely hear it. On the one hand, there is no way to understand a conversation at another table. It may be that there is nothing at all, but they keep coming and going and screaming. My throat hurts so much after talking.. The sound was the same as back then. I personally feel like it would have been great if it had been reduced by just 10%, but the food and service were great! Even though there were so many people and it was busy, they took my order well and it was nice.

Heewon and Wookjin took care of us today. The sweetest people i ve ever met. Fast service, food was delicious, the banter was friendly and everything came with a smile. I truly recommend this place to anyone who s curious about it. would rate higher if i could <3

The taste is high-quality, but soju is expensive. And the biggest problem is that the friends who work as servers dont care how the customers are. It seemed like they didnt know much about server work. There is no tip in Korea, but here there is a sign asking for a tip. If you want a tip, you need more progressive service and attention to customers. (Working friends seemed busy talking to each other)

I ve been meaning to go to this restaurant for the longest time just to end up with me being disappointed. I went last week on September 13th. It was busy but I got myself a table for two while waiting for a friend, ordered food for myself and drinks. They moved me into three different tables even thought i already ordered my food and drinks, just for them to squeeze as much people as possible in the restaurant, i wasn t happy with it especially when they rushed to move me to the 3RD table after getting seated comfortably for a while. with the last table that they moved me, it was rushed and they didn t even clean my table before moving me in, there were lots of spills of sauces and leftover food on the table from the customers before me, and they put the utensils that i was gonna use on the dirty table. I have been to lots of restaurants in toronto but i ve never got this sort of treatment or had this bad of customer service. Due to the poor handling and poor customer service, I canceled the food that I ordered and paid for the drinks that I got and left. I ve never been one to complain about anything but this experience has been very horrible for me, it left me feeling undervalued and embarrassed as a customer.

Went out for dinner and drinks with a friend. They serve popcorn and shrimp chips as an appetizer in the evening which is nice to have with your drinks. We ordered the gambas which was alright- it would have been nice if we were given more bread and if the shrimp themselves had better base seasoning since they were very bland. The pork belly chili cream pasta was amazing as always since the spice from the chili cuts the richness of the cream sauce. We also got the truffle fries which we thought would have had more actual truffle seasoning on them (i.e., oil or seasoning) rather than just a truffle aioli dipping sauce but was yummy nonetheless! Would recommend coming here for a light dinner and drinks with friends :)

Fusion Korean

We had a delightful experience at this Korean restaurant. The portions were generous, easily satisfying. Although I requested a dry Korean chicken dish and was served a gravy-based Korean BBQ where the chicken was soggy and sweet. The French fries were exceptional and the Sapporo beer pitcher complemented the meal perfectly. Additionally, the service was commendable, making our visit even more enjoyable.

Restaurant food overrated. Decent but not wow. Saw on ig and wanted to try but was a disappointment. Food wasn t tasty kind of bland so if you plan to go here, just remember it s for the atmosphere.

We went there for a quick beer but ended up ordering some fried chicken and more drinks. They offer some popcorn and prawn crackers with your beer. The fried spicy chicken was a good portion size and it was delicious. The servers were also very attentive. Will visit again

Good vibes but wasn t a fan of the food.. the fried chicken isn t typically what you would get at any other Korean fried chicken restaurants. It s purely just fried batter with barely any actual chicken pieces Got a couple of chicken dishes and it was true for all of them: crispy boneless fried chicken, crispy boneless sweet & spicy chicken, combination of four flavours chicken in one (soy sauce with green onion, supreme yannyum, wasabi mayo and corn cheese flavours) The rose tteokbokki is also a lot spicier than expected so keep that in mind if you have a low spice tolerance or try to ask for a lower spice level They give complimentary popcorn and fried shrimp crackers so it pairs well if you re just going for drinks!

The 4 flavour fried chicken is a little disappointing - many strips of batter or battered skin with no meat. Really enjoyed the pork belly pasta and rosé tteokbokki. The seafood pancake is average..

Update your Uptown location hours, as IT IS INCORRECT on both Google and the store front. Went there Tuesday March 5th around 3pm (as it was stated on Google and the store front door, open from 11am to 3am, except on Mondays), but the store was closed and no explanation why it was closed (lights were turned off)

Food was delicious! Stand outs were corn cheese, scallop, beef tartare, and rose tteokbokki. Id skip the chungyang cream pasta. The spice was overpowering and we couldnt taste the truffle. Nice vibes and service

Vibe is very live and interior is modern. Great place to have fun with friends. They have a good selection of drinks too. But because this place is packed it was really hard to get servers attention. Food was ok (but this was expected coz the dt ehwa has also not-so-tasty food) and they give free popcorn and fried shrimp crackers to munch on which is amazing. The sweet and sour pork in the Injeolmi sweet and sour pork was very sticky and soggy. It was so tasteless that I wanted to spit it out. I think Im going to have a craving for the food

I went here for NYE dinner and the food was good but the service was not. We sat down for a long time without anyone asking if our order . We had to flag down the server every time we needed something.. I am not used to doing this at any restaurant in Toronto. There was also fruit flies buzzing around the restaurant which was really disgusting.

If you dont drink here, people will stare at you and give you too much attention, which made me uncomfortable. Dont go there unless youre going to drink. Really, I couldnt even eat properly because I was worried.

Nice and cheap price. Good for family bonding and dinner date.

I ve always been a fan of the downtown Ehwa location, but this new uptown branch might be my new favourite! The decor was very colourful and welcoming, which is a very different from the bar-feel of the downtown location. We came for lunch and it was not too busy and the server was quick to attend to us! We got the pork belly chili cream pasta which is TO DIE FOR! The creaminess of the sauce compliments the flavourful pork belly very well, and the chili garnish definitely has a much stronger kick than you d expect it to. The only thing is that the pork was slightly overcooked. We also got the pork belly hangsang (set meal) which came with an array of delicious banchans and a soup! The only downside is that the pork belly is also slightly overdone as well. Our server was very attentive and checked up on us regularly, asking if we needed anything else. She also offered us free coffee and ice cream after our meal, which were both delicious (especially the coffee)!! Overall, the portions were definitely generous for the price and the food was very well prepared! Loved the vibe of the restaurant and many menu items caught my eye. Can t wait to come back and try everything else :)

I came for dinner! We ordered three dishes; the ehwa tontaksu, spicy tontaksu, and vongole pasta. The tontaksu is a large size and left me filled. The vongole pasta is an al Dante loaded with clams! I highly recommend coming to the uptown location!

The food itself had so much potential but I felt like it fell short - the pork belly creamy chili pasta was a touch too watery but had good flavour. The other dish of different Katsu was ok but not anything amazing. Would still come back to try the other dishes / when their dinner menu comes out.

Honestly, the food here is delicious, much more than I expected given that the downtown location focuses more on bar/drinking food. Really liked the Ehwa Hamburg Steak, the Omurice Tonkatsu and the Spicy Cream Chili Pork Belly. As for the vibes, loved the colors they chose for the walls and furniture, its tastefully funky and fun without being too in your face. Am definitely going to come back to try more things on the menu.

The atmosphere is nice, the staff are friendly, and all the menu items are delicious, so I go almost once a week to sample different menu items. Personally, the vongole pasta and hamburger steak are especially delicious.

With today s weather, the wind blew me into here like fate The atmosphere here is so cozy. The food has great portions for the price too! I got the spicy cream tonkatsu and it was delicious! It was just too bad I couldn t finish it I really loved the Korean R&B they played in the background. I m really excited for their night menu to come out! I went for lunch, and I bet the vibe during dinner / bar lounge time would be so cute I really loved the service and taste variety of the menu I can t wait to come back here for dinner some time! Among the nearby Korean restaurants, it was the cleanest, had a nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious :) The owner was also very friendly! The pork was spicy and delicious, and the pork cutlet had a delicious sauce! The vongole was as delicious as most pasta restaurants! I wasnt expecting much because there were so many different types, but I was surprised that everything was delicious! Highly recommended! I will visit often in the future! Enjoy your meal!

The restaurant is recommended by our friends and recently open in a busy area. The atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant are nice. We ordered two salads, the Boccocini salad has an excellent presentation. The Hamburger steak Omurice is also nicely presented with swirled egg topping. Everything is so nice. We will definitely come back for dinner. The lunch and diner menus are totally different.

Had the Pork Belly Chili Cream pasta and Ehwa Jeongsik. Pasta was unique and perfectly made, with slight spice of chili. It was creamy and smooth. I recommend this to others. Ehwa Jeongsik was just okay, there was nothing special about them other than trying out the variety, however the mediocre quality and taste. The service was a tad bit slow. Great setting, different from the downtown location. Much quieter! Doesn t sell alcohol (yet?)

This place was a bit of a letdown. The spaghetti was way too watery and not creamy enough. The service was non existent. I am a little confused by the numerous five star reviews for this place? At least the tonkatsu was decent.

A fairly new restaurant and everything was top notch! Very reliable and friendly service along with delicious food. My partner and I ended up getting the pork belly set along with the pork belly pasta. Not to mention the place is aesthetically pleasing. Would highly recommend!

The restaurant was beautifully decorated and seating was comfortable. The service was okay but most importantly the food was really mediocre. The spicy creamy tonkatsu was awful. No flavour and bad texture. The portion was pretty small and it didn t come with rice. The vongole and the ttukbaegi pasta were good but I m not inclined to return. Note the restaurant does not currently serve alcohol.

Gnats were flying all over our food. They forgot one of our orders - 45 min and no updates. They gave us 3 cans of soda as a sorry, and there were 7 of us. A comp on the forgotten dish would ve been nice. Me personally, I d rather go to a place that invests more in service and flavour of food. The decor is nice, but that is not my top priority when dining out. Good luck!

Lovely colours! I was surprised at how vibrant the room is. The aesthetic and decor brings the idea of modernism and Korea to the forefront of the mind. Food was tasty! Nice servers, I learnt a bit about Korean food from them!

Came here on a Friday evening with a group of 20 people. We made reservations ahead of time and was able to pre-order with one of their staff. When we arrived we had a table ready for us, and the food slowly started coming. Overall the staff was friendly and my chilly cream hambak steak was pretty tasty, tender and spicy. However the portion was quite small so I couldnt give it a 5 star as I was left pretty hungry after the meal haha. The atmosphere was nice and since they didnt have their liquor license, we were the last group to leave at a out 930pm!

Food is tasty but different than what I expected given what the downtown location serves. I also came here before they have their liquor license so I cant speak to the drinks. It felt more like a low-key jazz bar than a Korean late night bar. Other than my expectations needing to be adjusted a bit, everything was good. I would skip the pizza - it was on a thin tortilla so it was a big flimsy and not like your traditional pizza (even fusion style).

It was our first time visiting ehwa uptown the overall ambience was nice! We ordered the boccocini salad, pork belly chili cream pasta and spicy pork hansang both had good portions and was delicious. Will definitely come back again.

I recently visited Ehwa Uptown upon a friends recommendation during their soft opening. The ambiance in the evening was on point, setting a relaxed and vibrant mood with its purple and pink hues. While the service was a bit slow, the outstanding food and drinks made up for it. We started with Mango Fruit Makguli, accompanied by popcorn and fish chips, setting the tone for a great evening. The Fruit Makguli was sweet and house-made, perfect for sharing with friends. For the main course, we savored the 4 flavored-chicken with soy sauce and green onions, supreme yannyum, wasabi mayo, and corn cheese. The yannyum flavor stood out as the best. We also tried the Yukhoe Gimbap, a filling delight with tender beef on top. Despite the service delays, Ehwa offers a fantastic atmosphere and mouthwatering food. Id recommend visiting on a weekday evening for a more enjoyable experience. Parking: It s going to be a tight spot to find parking. The back lot is usually filled. I got lucky with street parking along Elmhurst Ave. There s a parking garage along Beectoft Rd. for a sure parking spot. Will be a bit of a walk but I didn t mind the distance.

Food isn t great and the server don t know anything. The plates and chopsticks are dirty.

I felt like the staff was very friendly and paid a lot of attention! The atmosphere was pretty and the food was new and delicious with an appropriate mix of Korean and Western food. I especially recommend Cheongyang Pasta.

I went there last night, and the interior and lighting were so pretty, the food was delicious, and the owner and staff were so friendly and attentive that I felt great!! !!!!!!!!!!!! Cheongyang.. the cream pasta is really delicious (everything is delicious) This is my first time eating pizza with corn cheese on it, and it was both delicious. And the song selection is great, I was so excited.

Very tasty food, nice vibes, and they also have liquor license now. Only down side was that it felt like they were a little short-staffed at times.

This was such a wonderful spot for an early dinner! The atmosphere is comfortable, hip, and pretty. There are lots of menu options and each dish comes with a lovely selection of sides. The food was super tasty and I look forward to returning soon!

First of all, the atmosphere was crazy. Im so glad that a place like this opened in Uptown. The food was all so delicious and the servers were friendly. I think Ill go there often in the future!!

Walked in to Ehwa Uptown on a random Thursday night, and the restaurant was already quite busy during dinner time! We were seated close to the entrance, and it can get a bit chilly during the winter with the cold draft coming in. The red and blue vibe inside was beautiful and mesmerizing, but you cant really see what youre eating bc it is so dark lol. Luckily, later they provided a little lamp for the table ^^ All the items we ordered had a kick to it. If you enjoy spicy food (and drinking!), this is definitely the place for you. Unfortunately, I dont eat any spicy, so I only enjoyed very little portions of the food. The most spicy item we had was the Pork Belly Creamy Spaghetti Pasta; it was no doubt super creamy and tasty (and spicy lol). The English description on the menu did NOT indicate that it had spicy green chili in it. We asked the server why this pasta dish was so spicy ! The server said that the first Korean characters(s) of the menu item mentioned spicy chili but failed to mention that in the English description. Mystery solved :p My friend also ordered a bowl of yellow fruits from the menu, and it came in a bowl of ice! It was mainly canned peaches and a few more slices of pineapple, orange, and banana! You can even order fruit platters here. Apparently, fruits and drinking go hand in hand in Korean culture, first time learning this! Kid-friendliness: Maybe for lunch, but definitely not kids friendly at night with the drinking crowd

Worst place ever, bad services, bad food, the music to loud and the atmosphere sucks

The place was unfriendly we came from work and they refuse to show us the menu and serve us a beer! They ask us where we came from, we explain them that we came from our job (manager office in radio station and sales manager in dealership) but they refused! We are 2 Latino girls HETEROSEXUAL for us was harassment (maybe because of bias), discrimination and they don t care about people cero customer service Services is horrible,

My experience at Ehwa Uptown was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed completely uninterested in serving us. We sat and waited patiently, but no one came forward to take our order or even offer us water. After a while, we decided to approach the counter to order the menu. The employees response was apathetic and unwelcoming. Once we finally placed our order, the wait was endless. We watched as other customers who arrived after us were served before. The real last straw was when, without warning or explanation, we were asked to leave the table. There was no apology or attempt to rectify the situation. It was a humiliating and completely unacceptable experience. In short, the lack of customer service and inconsiderate treatment means I cannot recommend this place. There are many other options in the area that offer much friendlier and more efficient service.

My visit to Ehwa Uptown was a complete disaster, we entered the place and requested a table for 2 on several occasions, when we were at the table we requested a beer and they did not sell it to us, they did not give an explanation for what reason or circumstance! I felt excluded for not being Asian.

Amazing Food

Checked out Ehwa Uptown yesterday, and its a pretty neat place. It mixes traditional Korean styles with a modern edge think bright colours and cool designs, but still sleek. We had the Spicy Pork Hansang for $19.99, which was a hit. Its served on a hot plate thats perfect for keeping the meat sizzling and draining any extra oil. Considering the cuts usually a bit fatty, this was a smart touch. Also had the Ehwa Jeong-sik at $24.99, a combo of hamburg steak, fish katsu, tonkatsu, and shrimp tempura. The portions were generous, and the complimentary banchan (those are side dishes) added a nice, authentic touch. The place is also super photogenic. There s a selfie mirror downstairs by the bathroom that s great for your socials. One minor issue was the lighting its a bit too dim, even during the day, which made it hard to shoo away this pesky fly that was hanging around. I heard they change the menu post-5pm, but I couldnt stick around to see. Definitely planning a return visit, mainly to try their makgeolli, which is Korean rice wine. Overall, Ehwa Uptown is a solid choice if you re into a fusion of traditional and modern vibes. The foods good, the ambiance is great for photos, and the prices aren t too steep for what you get. Worth checking out if you re into Korean cuisine or just want to try something new. Vegetarian options: Very limited vegetarian mains. Parking: Green P behind building. Can get crowded.

Cant give this place a 5 star rating (yet), until they fix these fundamental issues. Food: 4/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 **Service: 1/5 1) No celebrations. They dont know how to do cake services (no plating, no candles, inadequate table service). They take your order and bring over food, only. Had to go over and hand off dirty plates ourselves in order to make space for a cake. The waiters noticed. Awkward for a restaurant with gratuity, yeah? 2) Large parties recieve only a single option of combined bills or a single check (even for a large group), meaning one person needs to pay upfront for the whole table. Heck? Dishes are individually ordered and served. 3) Avoidance. Staff may avoid coming out if its busy out. Youll have to go over to the bar to find them if you need something, such as a missing set of utensils. Backdoor beside bar is left open for smokers, but imagine what fills the restaurant quickly where people are eating? 4) Waiters are all younglings, which was great for the environment, but hostile for groups who have dinein experiences and expectations of restaurants around Toronto and the Yonge Street. The culture was unfittingly different. Parking: 2-3 spots behind restaurant only.

Ehwa Uptown is a newer addition to the restaurants lining down Yonge St in North York, but their atmosphere and decor makes them stand out from the crowd. I visited with friends for dinner, and we were all taken aback by the amazing decor and atmosphere. Its really retro, and the colors are so eye-catching. We ordered from both the Afternoon and Night menu, which was nice because there is so much variety between both menus. We ordered the Pork Belly Hansang, Crispy Boneless Chicken and Spam Egg Rice, as well as Soju to share. The food was great! I was really pleased with the variety and portion size of the pork belly meal set, and the chicken was just too good. I will definitely revisit to try more of their menu. They had many great dishes to choose from

One of the most cost effective and delicious Korean rest ur ants Ive recently visited. truly enjoyed the food, and the interior, embracing Korean traditions, was exceptionally beautiful. The staff was incredibly friendly. I plan to visit frequently

Came here twice and would recommend especially as a casual lunch or dinner with friends/date. Food is good for its price and decor is nice but could be more flavorful.

The restaurant staff were very welcoming and attentive. I went with my baby in a stroller during dinner time for my friends birthday. They accommodated us with suitable seating, dim the lights and soften the background music. We enjoyed our time.

Was really excited about coming here but left disappointed. Visited on a Friday night around 11pm and they were full house. We got seated right away but after that the service was just non existent. Food was okay, ordered the 4 flavours chicken in one and the truffle pork belly pasta. Portions were good but the flavours were lacking. Hopefully management can advise their staff to check up on the tables and clear the plates once the food is done.

Service and atmosphere was good, the waiter was very accommodating in food preferences and there was sufficient seating for a party of 7. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant so you dont need to walk too much. When looking at the menu online, I thought we would be using the night ehwa menu as it was the evening, but only the afternoon ehwa menu was available, which was a bit misleading. However, a lot of us tried the hansang bulgogi/spicy pork and was very satisfied. It is flavourful and a large enough portion to be filled. My friend got the hamburg steak omurice and there was a bit too much sauce for her liking, it covered the flavour of everything else.

Flies were a huge turn off.

Really great place to get some drinks and bites with friends! Much cooler vibe than their downtown counterpart (the lighting in here is amazing). Food was good but nothing special to me. Of the dishes we tried, the pork belly tteokbokki was the best! The honeycomb makgeoli was quite good and the high balls look yummy!

The space is inviting, colourful and modern. I believe Ehwa uptown is advertised as fusion Korean. We came here for lunch. We saw maybe 6 tables come and go while we were there. The server was a young Korean man who was timid but professional. He helped point out which parking spots we can park in right outside the restaurant. My friend really enjoyed her spicy seafood pasta. It came with a lot of seafood but squid came in a big piece uncut. Crab leg also came as a whole. I enjoyed my spicy vongole pasta too. It had a good amount of clams and the flavor was bang on! We also ordered grilled pork belly lunch set to share. While the pork belly itself tasted good, the side dishes and seaweed soup were lack lustre. Small things they can improve on: - The dishes all came at different times so my pasta got cold while waiting for my friend s food. - The tong and scissors he brought us were dirty. - Music came on 1.5 hours after they opened. Overall we thought the prices were good for what we received (quality and quantity). I would come back for lunch again!
