6016 Yonge St, North York, ON M2M 3V9, Canada
One of a kind Korean restaurant that specializes in Jokbal in Canada.
Delicious pork trotters and steamed pork. They have a variety of flavours, and all taste really good. Recommend the roasted jokbal, garlic jokbal, and spicy bossam.
Highly recommend smoky-roasted jokbal and spicy jokbal if you can handle spicy. What you can do is order the original or garlic flavor and add extra spicy sauce on the side. We made the mistake and mixing the sauce with the meat and my friends did not have a fun night (the washrooms were occupied for 2 days straight). Rose Rice cake is a must to balance that fatty juicy meat.
A pretty busy korean restaurant. We get there around 6 pm, there's still some tables available. But after 7 pm, it's full. My first time went there, because friends recommend trying this. Overall, the food is good. Extra spicy is really spicy! So if u like it, go for it extra spicy. The portion is big. U can refill the side dishes. Their signature dish is $44/plate and can be mix&match flavors.
I usually get the spicy braised pork hock here–very tender and flavourful, with a great smoky taste. It’s a bit sweet for my preference, but overall delicious! Also highly recommend the seafood pancake and the pork soup with rice.
My friend says it's the best pork hock in Toronto. We ordered half Original Jokbal and half Spicy Jokbal, and DIY Seasoned Riceballs, and they were all delicious. I love how Spicy Jokbal and riceball eat together, their flavors go well together. The waitress is nice. This really is the best pork hock in Toronto! Super recommended!
This is my first time having jokbal, so I don't have anything to compare to, but it was absolutely delicious! We ordered the garlic jokbal which came with very generous amounts of garlic topping. The portion size of the jokbal is quite large and is definitely more than enough for two people - maybe even 3 if you don't eat much. The seasoned DIY rice balls were also delicious and a perfect accompaniment. I would definitely come back again! Just a note, the restaurant is very busy and the interior is quite small, so expect at least a 30 minute wait. The tables aren't really set up for groups larger than 4, so that's something to keep in mind as well.
I owe my friend so much for this recommendation because it's easily the best Jokbal I've ever had. We ordered the garlic jokbal, roasted jokbal (my favourite), and the spicy bossam, all were amazing. The side dishes were great too. For a side dish, I recommended the DIY seasoned riceballs, theyre satisfying to make and flavourful. The tteobokki and cold noodles were average. Just a reminder: this place doesn't take reservations, so we waited for 40 minutes, which was expected for a group of eight during peak dinner time.
I’m very impressed by the food here. Usually, it’s hard to completely remove the smell from pork belly or jokbal. This restaurant made that happens. All the food quality is above average. The rice ball dishes flavor is extremely balanced. The portion is huge. When we asked for takeout, they even gave us extra fresh side dishes. That makes my lunch easier in the next day.
Food was delicious. Dark, bar vibe. Not the cleanest, the chairs were sticky and parts of the restaurant had not been cleaned in a long time.
Its so delicious that it beats the pigs feet Ive had in Korea. The atmosphere is full of alcohol, and the soup served when you order alcohol is the best. Im willing to go back anytime
My favourite jokbal. Food never disappoint.
My favourite jokbal in Toronto Really recommend the spicy jokbal!! Cold noodles, DIY rice ball, seafood pancakes are all delicious and worth a try
$40 + for one Jok Bal dish is so overpriced!
The bossam was dry because it was the part that had almost no fat other than the pork belly part. The cold vegetable pigs feet werent bad, but it would have been delicious if more mustard flavor had been added to the cold vegetable sauce. The Bossam radish kimchi that came with it didnt suit my taste, so I just made it myself.
We had the half and half spicy jokbal and bossam. The balance was good. Last time I had just jokbal and it was more fatty. The staff were also friendly!
Get the DIY rice balls and thank me later.
Jokbal and bossam was amazing. Everything was super good and tasty. Surprised I have never tried this restaurant before. Im glad I gave it a try. Get place to eat and drink with friends.
Back in the January, this place s spicy jokbal was one of the best delicacy. However, the quality and taste of food kept downgrading for some reason. Not sure what happened, but this place is not the place that I know anymore. Definitely not going to order any food from this place.
Why are you here? Do you reuse food? The kimchi looks like someone ate it, and the pigs feet look like they were old and reboiled. The bones were black and almost made me vomit, so I dont think Ill ever eat them again. How can they be less fresh and tasteless than those at Chinese supermarkets???
Very delicious and huge portion. Perfect place for 2 person! Friendly service and would definitely come again!
My boyfriend and I ate here last night and we are recovering from the food poisoning. The garlic jokbal we had was a bit slimy and greasy.
It s a great dinner meals. The food is really amazing.
This is a very delicious restaurant! ! !
No, Buljokbal It s more delicious than Korea Korean food that even my foreign friends ate up The best! The food comes out very quickly and there is a lot of it. Have a good meal^^*
This is one of my favorite Korean restaurant in Toronto. Food was delicious and served was kind. I highly recommend this restaurant.
It was so delicious! The quantity was a bit much for 6 people with 3 dishes! The clerk is kind~
Spicy jokbal is super good.
Very nice taste
I got the half and half which says it s for 2 persons but can definitely feed 3 if you don t eat a lot since it s all meat. Food is delicious. The garlic sauce is a must and makes everything 10x better.
delicious and portion are huge
Its so delicious. Korean food Hanyang Jokbal is the best
Hahahaha
I love jokbal with garlic and lettuce Its so tasty
amazing service and food
Their food is always fresh. The taste is constant so I can expect the same all the time. The menu isn t too complicated. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures of the food that I ordered but for take out, the packaging was good as well.
The pork was perfect. The seafood pancake iwas a bit on the dry side. The spicy noodles very spicy and tasty. Ill be returning to this restaurant. Parking: About 20 spots in the back, shared with other establishments. Some parking in the front as well.
very tasty and special flavor, the portion is big enough for 2 people. recommend the spicy one !
Very nice food, will come back again!
Very good food .. the meat was very soft and juicy
Spicy pork trotters is more delicious, but it would be better if it was less spicy. I also like the bibimbap and cold noodles.
The food is neat and delicious
The food is really Korean style. One of my favorite Korean restaurants... Buljoks less spicy pork feet are truly delicious!!!! The rice balls are perfect to eat when spicy, and my foreign friend who came with me said they were really delicious!!
Im not used to Korean food knowing that Im European, and I really enjoyed this experience! The food is very good, it s friendly. I recommend this place!
Every meal are awesome! especially DIY seasoned rice balls is so good for me! I would love to come again!
Yummy food
This branch is the most delicious. Steph is also kind.
Ordered delivery through UberEats. Huge portions and their honey garlic jokbal is crazy good (if you like garlic).
This place is so good! We had the garlic jokbal, rice balls & seafood pancake. All were delicious! They also give a free soup which was wonderful!
In Korea, I only looked for old restaurants in Jongno. Jangchung-dong, Jung-gu was a bubble. I dont know why the store across the sea in good condition is a good restaurant. Please eat pig s feet at this house.
Checked out Hanyang Jokbal for a late-night gathering. The pork hocks and cold noodles were great, but Id recommend going for less spicy if your spice tolerance isnt high. The food was served quickly and was piping hot.
We had the cold noodles + Jokbal set and it was so good that I want to steal their recipes. Cant wait to come back!
I always come here to have jokbal since the time it opened. I feel like their overall portions and side foods have declined over the time but the spicy jokbal is really good and their rice balls are probably the best ones I tried. Recommend this place with cold rice wine.
Worths to give it a try! Order the original flavour ones. The spicy one is grilled to charred. Personally I don t like it even the meat is charred.
Great Authentic Korean experience. Waiter was polite and was quick to take our order. I like the simple menu with their speciality being in Jokbal. The cold noodles were also very good, highly recommend it. Food : 5/5 |
Good place for jokbal, love that they gave lots of lettuce. The side dishes and soup were underwhelming but it was overall a good meal. Seafood pancake was pretty good.
Original Jokbal. (Braised Pork Hock) $40
Salty and spicy, I like them!
Came here Tuesday April 23 with 3 other friends. Food was amazing for the price as well. Bit spicy but definitely worth it. Service was great, just had to ask a couple of times which we kinda felt bad as I also work as a server so we tipped a whopping ton. The atmosphere was great and the service was amazing. Had a lot of fun!
The food here is alright. There isn t a difference between the scarborough and north york locations so I would go to the closest one to you. The seasoned rice balls have gotten more sweet over the years for some reason and wish it could be less sweet. Overall, I would go here if I wanted to eat jokbal.
I went late at night, and the staff was so kind without showing any signs of fatigue. Jokbal number one! Makguksu was little spicy to me.
I ordered pigs feet bossam. Bossam is delicious, but I threw away more than half of the pigs feet.
The Original Jokbal was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich, and the meat was tender and flavorful. Its clear that they take great care in preparing this dish, and it paid off. However, I also tried the Bossam, and while it was decent, it didnt quite reach the same level as the Jokbal. The Bossam lacked a bit of depth in flavor and could have been more tender. The service at HANYANG JOKBAL was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting. Overall, I would recommend trying their Original Jokbal for a truly satisfying dining experience.
Nice staff and good service. The garlic Jokbal is a bit sweet. Seafood pancake is delicious. Go there earlier if you want to park there as the limited space.
Three flies came out of the lettuce. Please take care when washing it.
oh my god. The pigs feet are so soft. Theyre the best. I think one pigs trotter is enough for about 2.5 people. Highly recommended
Good food
Great food, I reccomend the it has this fistinct smoky flavour that reminds me of and its rlly rlly good. Service is also great!
If you like braised pork I highly recommend ordering takeout from here. You also get wee little discount if paying w cash. Few parking spots available in front of the restaurant. - Food: 9/10 (I ordered spicy one and bbq one. Overall loved it but wish bbq jokbal had more smokey flavour) - Portion: $55 half & half was enough to feed 3 ppl imo. I also ordered rice ball in addition. - Price: a bit pricey but thats kinda expected as Jokbal is also expensive in Korea too (not sure why but its just like that ). Anyway given the portion and the quality it was worth it for me. -Condiments&lettuce: 10/10 i was impressed with their thoughtfulness in including many sauces to pair with jokbal. Also lettuce was fresh fresh no wilted old lettuce -Side beansprout soup: 10/10 spicy but addictive fr.
Extra spicy jokbal is really spicy but super delicious - if you can handle the heat, we give it 10 stars!!!
Good quality food, nice price, good portion, tasty. Liked it.
$42 for this size of serving is absolutely unacceptable. Looks like the boss sold his conscience...
Fantastic food and service, and at a reasonable price
Food is good but the service is terrible. When we ask for lettuce for Jokbal, the server just come and told us that here is not all you can eat , this is the last dish of lettuce. What?! Of course I know it is not all you can eat. You can come to us saying that there is limit for lettuce, I have no problem with that. Or you can say you need to pay extra for more lettuce, fine I will pay for that if I really want to have lettuce. Kind of weird and rude saying like this. I feel extremely disappointed for the service of a man server. Food was good but horrible experience, never come back again.
Small cramped restaurant. Quick service and good portion sizes for family style sharing. Parking: Its on Yonge. Its a miracle theres parking you dont have to pay for at all. Spots are limited and shared with all the other establishments
Authentic Korean Jokbal flavours in Toronto with incredibly tender and bursting with flavour. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive and the prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portions served. I think will visit again for sure!!!!!
A very nice korean restaurant to go with friends! The food is amazing and the portion is large. Highly recommend jokbal braised pork hocks and seasoned rice ball.
The staff are so friendly. The staff are so kind.
We were here on friday evening and just went to eat tteokbokki. Even though we didnt order much, the waiters were sincerely helpful and met our needs. I wish we could have ramen added to tteokbokki, but we still liked it very much. I will definitely come and eat it again.
Not much service except when u place order and ask for the bill. The rest of the meal was more or less youre on your own. Perhaps not a good day for the waitress but she didnt look happy. With minimum 15% service charge and above, was hoping for better service. Think I prefer family owned Korean restaurants in this case. Food was good...meats juicy and skin chewy, seafood pancake crispy, spicy pork just the right balance of spice and pork bone soup creamy colored (not like the normal ones youd get at Korean restaurants), seasoned rice was also on the spot. Parking: Limited parking that is shared with a group of shops.
Great food, good value!
Good quality, great quantity!
There is no pig s trotter restaurant like this
Ive visited a few times, and the food is always delicious
Spicy jokbal is so tasty and addicting
We got the BBQ Jokbal and DIY Season Riceball. Both dishes and sides were amazing, and the service was great! One of the many late night restaurant that open till 1am with good korean food.
i would 100% recommend. the servers were very kind and i had no complaints with the food. their side dishes? delicious. rice balls? delicious. their proportions are also very generous. id say its the best jokbal ive ever had so far.
This is a nice authentic Korean restaurant in North York. We tried the Spicy Jokbal, Garlic Jokbal, Seafood pancake, and the Tteokbokki. I would rate the Seafood Pancake at the top, followed by the Spicy Jokbal, which is Spicy Grilled Pork. The Garlic Jokbal is braised pork with Garlic Sauce. The Tteokbokki is yummy but very spicy, so its not for everyone. Overall, it is a fairly good restaurant if you are in the mood for some authentic Korean food. Parking: There was parking when we arrived and it was a Thursday afternoon. However it could be difficult to find parking during busy times.
Nice. The spicy pigs trotters are very fragrant and soft.
I love your spicy jokbal!
Wow, so delicious!!! Tried this place by chance and what an exciting find!! BBQ jokbal and seafood pancakes. So much flavor in every bite. Thank you! Be sure to come back
Everything was good and the noodle was a big dish so i like it :)
I visited the restaurant for the first time at the recommendation of my friends. There were two servers, but the male server was incredibly unfriendly and spoke very rudely. The female server had a very bad expression and looked tired. The food was very delicious, just as I heard from my friends and the staff. I originally asked if it was like this, and they said they were very friendly the last time I came in the evening, but it was my first visit and I was very disappointed with the service. Its not like Im paying a small amount of money to eat, so it would be nice if the service was basically satisfactory.
I m from Mississauga, been driving half hour and arrived here at 11:40pm Jan 21, and the girl reception told us they closing in 20 mins impolitely which is wrong since they closed at 1am. I was confused but didn t think much so that I was about to leave, and then I realized that they shouldn t close at 12am, I asked the other gentleman server were they actually closing in 20 mins and he said last call to order is in 20 mins. I don t know why the girl reception said they closing in 20 mins, maybe she doesn t want work too much to handle one more table of customers
The food is really good. However, the restaurant is really cold, and they don t have hot water, just warm water, which makes the dining experience a 4 star.
10/10 very big portion for two people.
happy dinner good food soup tooooo spicy
Very good pork hock, juicy, tasty. Love it. Ordered the garlic one and it is the best hock I have tasted so far.
I reallllly loved the pork hocks but they were pretty fatty which they cannot control. Theyre really good otherwise. The seafood pancake is DELICIOUS!!!
Ive never had pig feet before, so wasnt sure what to expect. This place tastes so good! The meat is flavorful, soft. And if you eat it with the spicy salad, the combo is great I like their selection of drinks (like rice wine) too. I think this place does get busy, but definitely recommend!!
Everything are so Yummy! Definitely will come again.
The Jokbal literally melts in your mouth.. Both the meat and collagen are so soft and dangerously good it s hard to stop eating until it s all gone. The collagen left on the bones are a treat too! I ve had the spicy one before and honestly it s a challenge to choose between the two every time.. The DIY rice balls were good but I think there was too much mayo as the rice balls had a hard time actually holding the shape. Aka difficult to make.. Spicy cold noodles were disappointing. Most likely because the noodles were all clumped up and stuck together as we ordered take out The sauce is sweet and spicy and I liked the addition of pineapple. All in all I still love Hanyang Jokbal but I d much rather recommend and prefer dine in than take out. It just hits different!
Had a great time with the gang at this place. The best korean food so far.
Container is too small. Difficult to eat them. Every time try to take it out it falls out. The meat wasn t soft. So dry. Also Realized they sell 10% more expensive on Uber Eats.
Terrible service. Wouldn t seat us because they were holding out for a bigger party. Extremely rude to my wife. Will never patronize this place again.
I visited Hanyang Jokbak a couple of times, and yesterday around 7:45pm. The place was busy; we were the last group of three to be seated without having to line up. The garlic jokbal was delicious; the portion was good for two, but a bit pricier than average Korean restaurants. The cold noodle tasted not too spicy or sweet. The wait staff were courteous and kind. ============================================= : Bare minimum - I would not visit or use service again. : Satisfy - I would visit or use the place when I got a chance. : Exceptional - I highly recommend this place to everyone
Might be the best jokbal Ive tried in Toronto. Would recommend the half and half if its your first time, but highly prefer the jokbal over bossam. Also, one order of meat with many side was more than enough for 4ppl + we had leftover meat. +visited the second time and tried their spicy jokbal, it pairs great with rice. I got garlic on the side since I the garlic jokbal is essentially garlic sauce on top.
Their spicy jokbal is amazing !
Very authentic korean food and good customer service
The original jokbal (pig front arm) is awesome. We also order the diy rice ball and it is tasty. The side dish is OK. It is perfect for a romantic eat out.
Good portion for the price! Love the smoky flavour for the jokbal, will definitely come back to try different dishes.
Busy place, but delicious food, friendly and attentive staff. Really enjoyed the garlic pork hock, seafood pancake, DIY rice balls, spicy cold noodles. Of course, served with delicious Kimchi, side dishes and soup! Good food is worth the wait!;
This place is bussssssssssin Parking: Plaza has parking spots, parking on side street available as well.
I ordered the bossam and pigs feet half, but the pigs feet seemed to have a very slight odor, the bossam kimchi was a bit sweet, and overall it was decent, but the portion seemed a bit small for the price.
so good, highly recommended!
Amazing rice ball and cold noodles! Would definitely visit again.
not too expensive. come with rice . the pig hand is really tasty with a bit of alcohol is so nice D Food
Hangyon? Are those feet in my plate? Who knew feet could be so delicious . 100% would recommend!
So good
Bit pricey but tasy jokbal.
Good food but can t tolerate the attitude of our waitress. I went to Hanyang Jokbal with my friends on April 30 for late lunch. The female waitress was inpatient and unhelpful. When I was trying to pay with tab the machine didn t work. She didn t try to offer help but just stood there and let me kept trying to tap. After many tries, the POS machine was timed out. So I asked her if I should try my physical credit card. She rolled her eyes and made frustrated sound as I was stupid. She reset the POS machine and rudely hand me the machine with out saying a word. I successfully paid the bill with my physical credit card and wanted to hand the POS machine back to her. She just stood there and looked around, totally ignored me. After holding the POS machine for more than 5 seconds, I have to leave the machine on the table. To be honest, I love the food of the restaurant but I don t want to go back because the rude service we received.
Food is super good, but the waitress s attitude was very disrespectful. We had lunch here around 1pm, that waitress was showing no patience all the little annoying expressions on her face
Enjoyed food. Disappointing service. Came for lunch on Sunday afternoon. Our waitress appeared visibly impatient when we requested a split bill and even went as far as rolling her eyes and made impatient noise, making us feel as if our request was an inconvenience. While I highly recommend the food, the poor service detracted from the overall experience and I will not return in the future.
Very Korean feel in this restaurant. The food tastes very good. Make sure have someone sign up before you go. A waiting list is always there for dinner and lunch.
A male waiter was so rude that he didnt care what I said. The food was delicious except for the service Recommended dishes
Seafood pancake is really delicious. Also ordered Spicy Jokbal (pork hock) and Garlic Bossam (pork belly). A little bit expensive, but the taste worth the price. Both meat choices are recommended. Really love the heat level. The kimchi and marinated radish are also tasty. The place is also good for friend gathering. Overall a very pleasant dinner.
Ordered the jokbal and bossam combo. Great jokbal and side dishes but the bossam was tough and dry with no fat on it.
It s literally the food I would eat every week! Highly recommend
I can eat this all day everyday !
The jokpal was too good! Will definitely come again!
I went to eat jokbal because it was my favorite jokbal restaurant. I heard they started cold soba so I ordered it right away. Its so refreshing because the fish are floating around, and the noodles are chewy. It was delicious! The noodles are different from the tray noodles! The weather was very hot, but the heat went away when I ate some cold soba noodles
Spicy jokbal is good to try.
The spicy pork feet was . Love the mixed rice ball too. Found out the cold noodle was a little too spicy for me. It s good to go with a group of 4 and up, the portions are big so sharing is the better option. Will definitely be back.
Good food
I know prices have risen, but there is too little lettuce. I bought lettuce separately at the supermarket.
Food was delicious and they provide 5% discount on paying cash.
Food taste amazing. Definitely will come back for more.
half jokbal & bossam (the meat itself is tasteless, flavourful with all the complimentary sauces
This place is amazing. Their menu is very small, but it s because you should be coming for one and one thing only. That amazing Jokbal. Such a simple dish, braised pork hock. The meat is incredibly tender, and accompanied with some rice and the lettuce provided, you have an amazing tasty and filling dish. If you re gonna come here, try out the classic braised pork hock as well as spicy (Spicy especially!) and just try adding all the sides together. Love this place, and will be coming back when I m back in Toronto!
Nails from take-out food .
If you eat pigs feet and rice balls and give the basic tip, it will cost you $70. I ordered the pigs feet as regular spicy and it was delicious and not too spicy. Im disappointed with the rice balls. Im not sure about its identity because it doesnt come together at all, whether its because of the flying fish roe or because the rice wasnt cooked. I think it would be much better to balance the taste if they drastically reduced the amount of flying fish roe or changed it to something like tuna and lowered the price ($10 for rice balls is a bit expensive.) Next time, I think Ill just order air rice. The bean sprout soup and side dishes were good and delicious.
Generally satisfied
We had the ride balls and spicy jokbal. It was so good! The jokbal tasted very fresh in the lettuce leaves. Service was great.
Original jokbal and DIY rice balls, delicious!!
This place has been on our list for awhile, and it was definitely not disappointing. We ordered the jokbal and DIY rice balls. We were worried about the spice level so we settled for regular, but in hindsight, we would ve wanted to order spicy or garlic. It was still good though, and the portions were big. We ended up taking some of it home. On the other hand, we LOVED the DIY rice balls. It seemed simple at first but so delicious, and I personally enjoy food that is interactive aha. We d definitely go again to try another jokbal flavour! Edit to add: We finally tried to spicy jokbal! It was delicious, and I recommend it over the regular flavour. However, we ordered it with tteokbokki, and there wasn t a lot. I don t know if it s worth adding $4 for around 8 pieces. Otherwise, it was delicious. We tried the seafood pancake too which was good.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!! My friend spontaneously decided to eat here without knowing exactly what they serve and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The portions sizes are good, the staff were exceptionally nice and the food was super amazing - definitely try this place out if you can
the best jokbal i had in toronto hands down
Really amazing service and food! The lunch special was $23 ! Good deal and so stuffed! Love how spicy the lunch was!
This place is so so good. Its my absolute favourite restaurant in the city. Whenever people ask, its my go-to answer without a thought. Best braised pork hock, always in the mood for it. I just love their dishes, Ive been here often enough that Ive had most of their menu. My favourites are the bbq braised hock, garlic braised hock, rice balls and their seafood pancake. Whenever I have a shared day off with some one who hasnt tried this place, Ill bring them just so I have an excuse to go back. So so tasty!
Nice. Prob coming back next time. Way too tasty
The pork feet is amazing. Non-skin part of the pork feet can be a bit bland but it gets balanced well when eating with their great kimchi! DIY rice ball is very simple but delicious.
Ordered a whole jokbal dish from UberEats, only give such a small box of sauce, 3 piece of garlic and 3 piece of hot paper! So stingy!!!!! No Korean restaurant can be stingy like this! Will never spend money here!
Came in as a first-timer with a big appetite and was impressed beyond expectations the Pork was melt in mouth delicious that went great with the DIY Rice bowl and the sides . Great service and atmosphere to top it off.. Definitely has my recommendation as one of the best meals on Younge St.
Perfect
If you want to find another one, dont bother. Will definitely come back. Dont try to get to another place, this is the best one, where you could find.
Good food big portion
Servers were fast and considerate. The food was so flavorful. I didnt like jokbal before but this place changed me.
Loved their kimchi bacon pancakes which were nice and crispy with not too much dough. Also tried their garlic jokbal which i found to be not too bad though not up my alley personally.
Yummy
Markham Jokbal Restaurant
Loved the spicy jokbal and seafood pancake!!!!!! HUGE portions too!!!!!
it is delicious!!
So delicious !
Highly recommend
Edit: I think the value has dropped significantly, especially if you do takeout instead of sitting in. The portions feel much smaller now than before, and the price has gone up quite high. Very good value for the portion you get. The menu says serves 2 but it can definitely serve 3. If you go for lunch, get the lunch special which is $24 for half jokbal and half rice, then upgrade the rice for $5 to seasoned rice which is AMAZING (the same rice you get for the $10 DIY rice balls), absolutely worth the upgrade. The lunch special was $29 before tax and can feed two. My favorite flavor is definitely the spicy jokbal. If its your first time you can get the half and half to try the original jokbal and bossam. Theres a cash discount for 5% off. Service was excellent and free refills on the sides and lettuce and sauces. We were stuffed and had so much leftover, and all for approx $28 per person AFTER tax and tips. I rather eat this than any AYCE place.
The jokbal is yummy! Full of collagen The pancake is nice but the tteokbokki was just soso as a small portion. Their kimchi was not something I would recommend. There are not much choices that we can choose, probably I would only recommend the Jokbal!
Top rating Korean restaurant. Food quality is great - strongly recommend seafood pancake, so crispy, it has good balance on seafood and pancake. Original Braised Pork Hocks - big portion, good texture with layers of tastes. First time to try Walmae (Korean white wine), very interesting, perfect match with Korean food, love it. Nice vibes, polite and attentive staffs. Definitely come back again.
Great space, service and amazing quality food definitely best Korean food ever tried in Toronto!!!
Such a great meal!
Some of the food at this Korean restaurant was surprising, but there were a few things that werent thought through in the food experience. The most commendable thing about the meal we ordered was the preparation and taste of the pigs trotters. The pigs trotters are removed from the hoof bones, allowing the bones to become decorations, which not only stimulates appetite, but also greatly reduces the trouble of diners to remove the meat on their own. The pork trotter itself is divided into two parts: meat and tendons plus fat skin. Through marinating and grilling, the texture and taste of the meat are both crispy and crispy, just like eating the center part of a comfortable Napoleon cake; the tendons and fat skin are roasted to perfection, and when chewed in the mouth, they are both glutinous and chewy. The oil produced adds a deep aftertaste. It can be said that the pigs trotters dish is very successful. But some of them were poorly thought out and caused some regrets. For example, the room temperature is a little low, so the purple clay plate holding the pigs trotters cannot be kept warm, and the fat on the tendons and pig skin has condensed, making the taste worse. The rice you ordered can be shaped into rice balls with your hands, but because the rice itself is not sticky enough, the rice balls cannot be formed at all. There are also some issues that are not listed one by one. In short, there are surprises and regrets, but it is definitely recommended.
Delicious large portions! Got to take food home too even after all 3 of my party ate Quiet spot, nice staff too.
Korean restaurants that specializes in pork hocks. The spicy pork hock was very good as the bbq/ grilled flavour was very prominent. I also liked how the bossam (pork belly) wasn t too fatty compared to other restaurants I ve tried. Portion size was reasonable as prices were around $40-$50 for a main.
Food quality is extremely good and service good as well. Also they done well packaged for takeout foods.
The Garlic Jokbal tastes so good. The cold noodles were also very delicious.
