19A Finch Ave W, North York, ON M2N 7K4, Canada
Order online for delivery or pick up at Huh Ga Ne restaurant. We are serving delicious traditional Korean food. Try our Bibim Bap, Soon Du Bu, Hoe Naengmyeon, Jap Chae, Bo Sam or Kimchi Jon. We are located at 19A Finch Ave W, North York, ON.
Our go-to (and only spot honestly) for gopchang in Toronto. A bit of a trek but well worth it - we get the stir fried gopchang (only comes in portion for 2 people) for $60. Yummy side dishes and includes rice! Super filling and satisfies our cravings.
Food is amazingly good and I can tell the seafood is very fresh in the squid and beef hotpot, I just went on vacation in Seoul so I can tell it is 85-90% close to original, really authentic, the atmosphere is great because it is comfy, but we are quite close to the door so a bit too chill. Th service is a bit well… because our hotpot was overcooked but no people coming to help so we turns off ourselves; they come later and turn it on, then cut the beef (we don’t know they actually will help cutting so we already put two big truck of beef on now respectively), and no one telling us can review until I read the review here, with this level of service, they asked for good tips as they said we sit there for so long, but they didn’t say there is a timer on each table to leave, some restaurants did tell us we had to leave after certain time, like a rule at the beginning, isn’t it? Still, I gave a big fat tips and left.
Came here at 3 am and had an authentic Korean food experience, feels like visiting a local eatery in Seoul! There’s a line in the middle of the night which surprises me. We ordered the short ribs from the table cooking section, medium jok bal (pork feet), and spicy beef soup. The pork is reasonably priced and the portion is really good for the four of us to share, even with the need to bring some pork feet home. If you’re looking for a place to have an authentic Korean food experience, I would recommend coming to huh ga ne, it won’t disappoint.
NO WIFI. Food was amazing! Would recommend! Parked down the street. Had to wait about 20 mins to get a table for 9. Food came quickly and water was iced and cold. Place was clean. Would come here again. There was a giant line to get in at night. If you pay cash it’s 10% discount. Sides come and dipping sauce was good. They gave us dumplings on the house at the end! Great!!! 9 people was about $300.
If you want to try authentic Korean food, I highly recommend this restaurant. The portions are huge and the service was quick and I could tell that the ladies were trying their best to work efficiently as it gets very busy.
The pork kimchi fried rice was awful. The kimchi was sour but not the side dish... the pork stir fry was so salty.. it made my throat hurt/sore? It doesn't even come with rice when it's $25!!! The only good thing was the pork bone soup. 10/10 for that and that's it. That's the ONLY reason why it's 2 stars.
Hu Ga Ne is on the top for the best noodle places in North York. The food is awesome, we ordered the glass noodles and beef soup. Everything was nice and the place was somewhat organized. Waiters were really nice and understanding.
This place has been around for awhile but didn't realize they had renovated the interior. Overall it was pretty good! They were pretty generous with the appetizers, refilling them multiple times. I think the price is a bit high for what you get in the shareable pork bone soup pot, but still okay. The seafood pancake was decent. They also can cook stir fry meat at your table for you. They don't split bills on weekends, which in my opinion is a little silly but the service was good.
Delicious Korean food with long opening hours! Fried rice with sesame oil aroma
Food is good, but a little pricey for what it was. Customer service is terrible though. Staff made a mistake thinking I ordered two dishes when I wanted just one. I told them this before even recieving the food, and instead of just not giving it to me, they said there was nothing they could do and charged me anyway instead of taking accountability for their mistake. If you want to eat here, clairify over and over with them what your order is to the point of annoying them, or you might be paying more than you expect to.
I live downtown so I really dont have to be in a pinch. I visited for the second time on the recommendation of my roommate. It didnt really smell like makchang and it was so delicious. Cold noodles are also super delicious!! Recognized as a truly delicious Makchang restaurant Oh, and the kkakdugi is delicious!!
bad service
Bad service
This place is amazing!! The first time we ate here the meat was perfect. The staff is so friendly and the food is so good.
Expensive compared with food quality
If I could only give a 0 star I will. Food was okay but service is bad. I get it sometimes we get tired from working but you can always ask someone to serve the table if you are uncomfortable. Also our friend has an allergy and almost ate the food he s allergic with. We explained to the worker that our friend has an allergy. We ll never go here again, do better.
The worst service I had ever seen. The server just doesn t want to serve you but still asking for tips .The portion becomes less and less.DON T Recommend! Avoid!
24/7 place saves my life some tired nights. Really hits the spot after an exhausting shift. Lively enough that Im not alone but not so busy that its annoying, weekday night that is. The staff are pleasant and on top of it. The food is good enough for me. Can keep it cheap on a hearty soup or get a grill plate with a friend.
It s not as delicious as before and the price is not low either.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. They provide excellent service eveytime Ive been here.
Great Kimchi fried rice!
Nothing nut but the best
This is a paradise for people who love pork entrails! The most authentic korean restaurant in town.
Absolutely disappointing. I ordered Gamjatang and Sundaeguk, but what arrived was far from what these dishes should be. This is nothing like the authentic Gamjatang and Sundaeguk you d get in Korea. If it at least tasted good, I might overlook it, but it was completely lacking in flavor. I noticed that quite a few foreigners dine here. Im quietly worried they might think this is what Korean food is supposed to taste like. Its really tasteless. I ordered gamjatang and sundae soup, but both foods came out strange. It is completely different from the gamjatang and sundae soup sold in Korea. I dont know if it has any taste, but it doesnt have any taste. It seems like quite a few foreigners also visit, but Im worried that they might think this kind of food is Korean food.
This is a Korean restaurant. The food is delicious made with fresh ingredients and the owners and employees are all great. I recommend it as a friendly and cozy place
. . It tastes so bad. It s one of the worst Korean food in Toronto! I complained to the waiter about the strange taste. She also had an expression like You havent eaten it yet and you dont understand. I was really confused. It became more and more unpalatable. The side dishes had been put out for a long time. There were only foreigners in the audience, so I could only fool foreigners.
My favorite late night snack
Busy place/staff. Had to request for service many times with no success. Had to approach counter to be told not to. Food was good. Worst part was being giving grief about taking out leftover bancha(side dishes) after tipping 18% on $80 for 2 people
Everytime i call the delivery i write the nots always cook the food now because getting lazy wont do it anymore and service very bad ibwont order again no more if i can cook at home why would i ask you guys do that if you guys always no way to cook it than its fine 10 times you guys did it now you told me cannot do it unbelievable
Expensive, slow, not out of the ordinary food, and pressured to tip more. Its lively though
Love the BBQ intestine
Rude cashier, dirty environment, and mediocre taste. No need to waste your money here.
No service,but overcharge for tips
I have been coming to this restaurant for 2 years. The more recommended one is the pork bone soup. This pork bone soup has quite a lot of meat. Although the price has increased, it was originally 14 and now is 17. The side dishes provided are also quite delicious. The waiter will also add more for you. Sometimes I will come and ask you whether the food is delicious, and generally give me a good impression. But now it seems there are not as many people as before. Personally, I prefer the previous decoration. After the new decoration, the environment feels darker and less Korean.
Good
I ordered the KAL BI JUNG SIK. The meat got overdone and turned into charcoal. I think it is not healthy.
Very unpleasant experience .Idk what is wrong with the dude sitting at the front, questioning me for didn t pay the bill which my friend did I even double checked with this guy. Very unpleasant experience and very unprofessional for this guy.
Great staff. They are all friendly and helpful.
The food tastes good, but the man paying the bill at the counter is not so good. I usually dont write Google reviews, but after seeing that they were unfriendly than the AI, I had to write a comment. When a customer enters, at least say Hi, and when a customer pays, at least say Thank you. I ordered takeout and paid the bill, but they stood there blankly and didnt even give me the food that was prepared right in front of me until I asked if I had ordered it. I got angry at the aunts at work for no reason. It was absurd.
When the Pollack soup arrived the fish was still stuck together and it was still half raw!!!
The food was average, honestly it is a bit overpriced but we would never come back because of our experience with the server regarding the tips issue. I ve never known tips are mandatory until i came to this restaurant. The lady with short hair looked at the receipt and said the tips wasn t 10%, i asked if i could pay again and she threw a very bad attitude to us. I should have checked out their reviews more carefully before came here!
My son ordered sweet and sour pork and fried chicken for delivery, but he was starving all day and was hungry, so he couldnt eat it because it didnt taste good. When I opened it, I realized I couldnt eat much. What surprised me more was the sweet and sour pork sauce. Is this oden soup or something? I didnt know there was such a sweet and sour pork sauce. I wondered why I couldnt eat it because it was so bad, but the food was really tasteless. Its a waste of money. Still, the lady who answered the phone kindly said that if she came to the restaurant, I will cook the food again right away To the lady who told me Thank you. But since the chef is the same, I dont feel like going back because I feel like its just the same. Really needs improvement.
lovely
Really great Korean food. From what my friends tell me it is also very authentic. They are generous with their side dishes and the staff are attentive. Dont be intimidated and think its too foreign or they wont be friendly if youre not Korean, they have always been lovely. It does get very busy and they may try to clear tables faster during this time but overall one of my favourite Korean spots I highly recommend.
So terrible. Mandatory tip.
This place has been around for awhile and they still got it! Food taste is great and have some great combos for two (can be for three) at great price for split bills!
Insult against Sundaeguk Sundae soup with paprika, sliced onions, and perilla leaves? You really crossed the line
Yeongyangtang and doganitang are so delicious. I ate it well and it was delicious, so I ordered takeout. When I packaged it for the elderly, they were very happy. I am going to take care of myself during the summer.
authentic Korean food. good services and atmosphere.
This place will be my daily restaurant if I m living there.
1 bad experience
Very delicious high quality food and very nice staff
I dont know how much you expect from a foreign country, but the sundae soup is delicious.
Always good for me never disappoint Owner and staff are very kind Food always good ~~ Price is very reasonable for this economy situation
Simply the best Korean food in town. I ve tried many different places and my family and I always come back to this one. The service is great and prices are relatively reasonable compared to other restaurants. Highly recommended.
Follow @bredgyeats for yummy food pictures! Banchan - Kimchi had a strong fermented odour, not very fresh and store bought. The bean sprouts were crisp and juicy, but blander. Fish cakes were sweeter, smaller pieces, slightly softer. Seaweed were snappy, salted but had a slight oceany taste. Potatoes in sweet sauce were fine, on the blander side. Pickled radish were sweeter than sour, quite addicting and refreshing. GamJaTang - Fattier, super tender meat that falls apart in your mouth, meat and potato portions were slightly bigger than JSN, and also included perilla seeds and green onion on top of cabbage. The soup was a little blander but sweeter from vegetables. The rice was also drier and blander.
There are only two places open 24 hours a day, so I go there because I have no choice. The quality of the food is getting worse and the service is getting worse. They didnt even bother to check once during the entire meal haha... especially the short-haired female server and male cashier... I didnt want to tip at all, but its a sin to live in Canada~! I gave it to you!
Recommended food and the place is open 24/7
The service staff is very bad. They dont care which customer comes first, instead they are very chaotic
The food at Heos is delicious, the service is good, the staff is always friendly, and all the staff greet customers with smiles. Among many foods, tteokbokki is by far the best in Toronto.
Soups are very good and portion is huge. Pork bone soup has 4 pieces of bones in it. Grilled beef intestines is also a must try!
Always friendly and delicious restaurant
Five years later it s still delicious
Kid-friendliness: Have options for kids Food
Sundaeguk is really tasteless and even the side dishes are not good. Even though it is takeout, the food seems a bit unsanitary. The texture of the side dishes is soggy.
Just a mediocre place to eat with low quality of food and service. Server even asked for more tip and said that the owner is pressuring them to request for more tip.
Not the best ambience with glaring lights and K-pop videos on the monitors, but the food quality is quite good and the side dishes are plentiful and varied (plus the selection is regularly updated). Dont be shy and ask for side dish refills if you have a favorite(s) or youre very hungry. Being open 24 hours is a plus and the service is efficient if not friendly. This is a popular place for students and can be busy, but I usually drop by in the wee hours of the morning when it is a lot quieter. Ive tried and can recommend the following: cold broth noodles with beef slices, tofu seafood stew, pork bone soup, Korean sausage soup (contains sliced pig ears) and the bibimbap. The Korean BBQ options are popular too, but I havent tried yet.
Service is the worst. This is the first restaurant that catches a customer and forces him to tip more because he didnt tip 10% when paying. Never again. This place forces you to pay tips more than 10 percent of your bill. If you give them a small amount of tips, they will insult you. What a terrible service I experienced after paying 70 dollars on their food.
Portion size perfect open late will recommend to friends
I stop by Huggers Restaurant occasionally and the gamjatang was really delicious haha. The kids also liked it... The servers served sundae and it was nice haha.
Good food and service!
Super friendly staff, food portions are good, I love all the sides they provide for free
Friendly staff, good food. Recommend.
Service was terrible. Staffs are very rude!!!
Delicious and friendly.
amazing authentic korean food out in the finch strip. its hard to find authentic korean food in toronto but this place does it best. bonus points for being open 24hours. amazing service and always smiling servers. i would highly recommend.
Variety of food and friendly service I think Ill find it again
Super fresh, had the pork belly and makchang, so good customer service is excellent, the owners are super sweet
Today, I went to this place with my family. We ordered makchang, samgyeopsal, and doenjang jjigae, and all I could say is that the meat was incredible. Especially the makchang was perfectly grilled, with a crispy outside and juicy inside. The service was friendly, and we even ordered an extra serving each because it was so good. I took photos to upload to Google while enjoying our meal. From the value for money to the quality, today was a complete feast and had great experience with it.
Fantastic service the waitress was very helpful and super attentive. Saying the food was amazing is an understatement, and not a long wait at all.
The food was decent. It was very crowded the time we went(around 6PM). Popular authentic korean food restaurant in the finch area. I would recommend!
One of our midnight spots
Its very delicious. nice place to have Korean food
It was a very delicious meal.. I look forward to seeing you again next year.
The best Korean restaurant I had visited in Toronto!!!! Delicious and kind services!!!!!
Dirty place, average food
Its so tasteless. I will never go again and its not Korean food. Aside from all the food, its not even Korean food, but its really not that tasty. Its the worst
Always great Korean food!
Had a long drive from Montreal decided to stop here for food and bathroom at 7:30 when they opened. An older lady came to the front when I entered and I asked if I could use their bathroom, behind her like 6 other staff. She and scanned me up and down and said sorry, sorry and shook her head.
This is a grilled intestine restaurant that I have liked for a long time. I was really disappointed today. We ordered grilled large intestine and pork belly. The large intestine was still quite good, but the pork belly was really unpalatable. Forget about the frozen one. We only got 3 slices of lettuce for 4 people? ? ? No sauce, no garlic slices, no chili rings? ? ? Shall I eat lemon barbecue? ? ? And the service attitude was very bad, as if we owed her money. In the end, we couldnt bear it and gave the lowest 10% tip, but she actually rolled her eyes at us? ? ? Really we should not give you any tip at all, you don t deserve it! ! ! Will never come back to this store again! ! !
Lol, They directly ask you to tip them and if you dont give tip, they give you a look and attitude. Tip is NOT Mandatory. Its part of your JOB desciption to serve customers.
The restaurants prices are high, the food is mediocre, parking requires payment, and the service is very poor.
Very tasty Korean food and they open 24 hours !!!!
UPDATE: spending my night on the toilet bowl Unwelcomed pests hovercrafting our meal. Spent more time swatting flies than eating. Fly zapping noises coming from the kitchen (they used that tennis racket device). Witnessed flies mating. Please see attached.
The Kam Ja Tang Jeon Gol (Pork Bone Soup) has added lots of peppers but it is flavorful and just mild level of spicy. It is a nice meal in cold weather day.
Best 24 hour korean restaurant in the area
Food is very nice and tasty. I can choose anything from their menu. Food
The beef intestines with chives are good, the best place for late night snack~
The food was savory and tasted great with the right mix of seasonings. The staff responded with interest and attention to guests. It was the best.
Makchang, galbitang, and beef stew restaurant! I wasnt expecting rib soup, but there was a lot of ribs in it. Yukgaejang has so many ingredients! Makchang is delicious, but it is a bit expensive! I once ordered sundae soup from Uber Eats and there was a piece of scrub brush. It came out, but if you pay attention to these things, I think it might be the best 24-hour Korean restaurant!
Excessive waiting time for pickup,,
Staff had attitude from the beginning, especially after I paid cash that they advertised as 10% off, I still tipped anyway but said it wasn t enough, I asked for 3 to-go containers for 2 people but they said why don t you just finish your meal? And ended up only giving me 1 container. Do not recommend. Will never go again.
The water is watering
Pretty good food. I am definitely coming back again
Its been a while since I ate here because my friends and I love another Korean place, but for a change, I suggested we try here again. After our experience today, my friends and I would never go back to this place. Food, for me, is not as good as before, plus the ajumma who served us was rude. We were not done for were planning to order drinks, and yet she brought our bill, so we have no choice but to pay and leave. It was insulting because it was not busy that time and theres lots of available tables. If they want people to leave, they could ask politely.
Service was pretty quick and the food was alright. Good cozy spot to chill out.
It s no longer the Xu family before Before the epidemic, this was my favorite restaurant. I have been here dozens of times. I can always see the owner and the guests mingle. The prices are also reasonable. Especially they are open 24 hours a day. It is a good place for me and my friends. It also brings many memories to my college life. What now? When I came to eat, there was no one there. There were only two or three tables in the whole store. After looking at the menu, I understood why. The price increase was very drastic and even a bit outrageous. The waiters also have a sense of oppression towards the guests. It s okay to have an old waiter. She has been in the Xu family for many years. I have never seen one who speaks Chinese. She doesn t even want to give change. She said that the extra money is considered a tip... Although I have feelings for the Xu family, I probably won t come again.
I have been a regular customer of this Korean restaurant for several years, but my dining experience on January 1st was extremely disappointing. While the food maintained its usual quality, the service provided by an elderly waitress was unacceptable. She appeared visibly impatient when we requested to have our ordered pork intestines stir-fried and showed a distinct dislike when we inquired about any cash discounts for settling the bill, even exclaiming Oh my god... in response. I believe my requests were reasonable, but her attitude was intolerable. She also repeatedly reminded us that the price did not include tips. We left a sufficient tip, but frankly, HER SERVICE DID NOT MERIT IT.
food not good as before, the old lady server was so rude and dont care about customer. I tip 10% and they said Just it? Terrible service
The new decoration is obviously much better than the previous one - a new tabletop barbecue grill has been added. The taste is still as familiar as ever! !
Taking so long for order.
The food was okay but the server ladies were very loud in the background. The bigger issue was when we were about to pay and leave, they stopped us telling us that the bill did not include tips and kept pushing us to give tips as they said it is mandatory in Canada to give tips even though they have not provided any services worth giving tips for. Tipping should be a choice for the customer and we shouldn t have to feel guilty about it.
Ive eaten pork intestines and beef intestines here, and they were both pretty good, but the prices are on the high side.
Its my second visit. Its always nice to have the option of eating out in the middle of the night. I tried YumSoTang. Very filling like GamjaTang. While it was a bit light, goat is delicious and I recently picked up that kimchi can be mixed in to strengthen flavour. The banchan (complimentary side dishes) were great. They were kimchi, bean sprouts, fish cake, braised sweet potato, seaweed salad, and pickled radish. I love the tea served here and the staff was courteous. The place has a nice professional ambiance. Parking: I believe the evening (6pm-7am) Green P parking flat rate to the left of the restaurant is $3.50 on weeknights. If you park a bit away on Yonge Street later in the evening (or in the middle of the night), its free. At dinner time itll be slower to find parking.
Never in my life have I ever experienced someone complain to me about giving her more tips than I already tip her. My food which I never found the greatest however I felt bad anyways so I decided to tip her but for her to ask more and not leave us alone was crazy I felt like my friends were attack just for the tips!!! Greedy people don t recommend cause they will harass you
Chose this place for a dinner with coworkers just for their food and soju. I ve came before a few times so I already had low expectations for their customer service. But damn they managed to upset us even more this time :/ We ordered the table bbq and this server just threw all the meat onto the metal plate at once, making it hard to cook the meat. She just threw it on and left. When the side dishes came, there wasn t enough space on the other side of the table and she couldn t reach the inner side so she gestured her arms while looking at us with an attitude for us to help her place it on the other side. She could ve asked nicely? Why the attitude? I m a pretty experienced waitress myself and I would so ashamed if I treated my customers like she did. At the end we couldn t even get soju cuz the same server asked for everyone s ID but one coworker didn t have theirs and she turned away with a smirk. Tf? Not even Ddaldongnae or Dakgogi across the street are that strict? None of us looked like we were underage neither we were all in the 20-30 range she definitely ruined the night for us. We gave a tip less than 10% and after she brought it back to the cashier they all stared at our group while probably talking bad about us. Well, they barely deserved ANY tips lol :/ The server also asked very rudely and loudly if she could get the bill for us. It was as if she was demanding us to leave. We just finished our meal barely 5 minutes ago and they just wanted us out the doors so bad. Don t worry though, I ll never be coming back :)
Great place for food and its open 24 hrs amazing
only can refill 2 time side
They had some renovations done, no more second level wooden floor seating. Service and food are still the same. Expect to wait a little bit especially during prime dinner time. Parking is convenient, theres a Green P right beside it. Definitely worth to check out of you craving for some late night Korean food.
Be careful! They charged us extra and didnt realize until we went home. The numbers dont add up on the receipt.
This is not a fancy restaurant, but you will get authentic Korean experience. Food is great especially the hot pots and BBQ. Service was excellent as well.
Not valuable for the Chicken fried rice which is small portion and not really tasty. And the beef with rice and condiments are cost $38 dollars which too expensive.
The food was so delicious, and the staff were so friendly!
I DONT recommend their Kimchi fried rice.. Kimchi is so sour and it seems like they use pre-cooked Bossam pork in this fried rice :( I love their fast preparation for delivery and that they are open late at night, but the quality of foods is....... umm....
Pigs feet are delicious
Food Delicious. Service Awsome
Delicious food!! I love love the cold noodles. A lil pricey but it equals good equality so not a problem.
WILL NOT COME BACK! First of all, lets talk about food. Very bland and mediocre. I would rather go to the Owl or other restaurants in the area. Im a big fan on GamJaTang. I always order a big pot every time I go to Korean restaurants. Im so disappointed and didnt even finish my soup. The reason I came is for the Beef Intestine which not a lot of restaurants offer. It was so bitter. Im not sure it was prepared properly. Jokbal and Soon Dae did not also give a hit either. Very dry! However, please keep in mind the food was expensive due to the portion. Total bill was $140 as the beef intestine alone was $60-$70. We only sat for 30 mins and packed everything else to go as we didnt enjoy the food as much. The bill came and my brother paid Cash. He tipped $8 and the server asked No more tip? . Theyre students and wanted to get food for the week. Yes, they could have order takeout but hey what are tips for? Food quality? Service quality? What else are they for? Food quality 1/5 Service 2/5 We paid for the food. We paid for the groceries with $8 on top. How much more do we have to tip and the fact she did not serve us! Other girls serve us. Tips are for them. Not for you old lady. Why do you ask for more tips and not the girls? Students cant go out to eat anymore? Yes as a professional worker, I would have to tip $15 for this kind of food and service. But they are 17 and 18 and wanted to pay for themselves and had to embarrassed themselves with this service? Shame on you! Parking: GreenP
Not bad
Recently discovered this 24-hour spot after a night of clubbing. This spot is our new go-to for late night Korean eats. The pork bone soup and bibim bap was so good and the Korean side dishes are unlimited and delicious, especially the kimchi. Pricing is decent and the service is very friendly. The cleanliness of the dining area could be better, but it is open 24-hour and Im sure they get a lot of party-goers. Overall, great spot for a late night eat!
I will never go to this store again. First, we had plastic in the meat, which we didnt say at first so as not to embarrass the restaurant. Secondly, we had to wait a long time for the drinks to be brought to us, and the meat was not stir-fried for us as before. We did not turn it over until it was a little overcooked. It was very dry and hard, and the sausage was almost burnt, so we turned it over ourselves. It took several times before anyone came to stir fry, which means there was not much service. Then I asked for a tip. I thought it was a lot to give $10 for a meal of 150 for such a service. If possible, I would give $0. The waiter told me that they all charge a tip of more than 10%. If the tip is less than 10%, the boss will ask the waiter to ask us why we dont tip.
These have to be the top three worst dining experiences Ive had in Toronto. Food is so so but expensive. And we are asked to move seat without anyone help to move water and stuff. Moreover, when paying, based on the bad experience, I gave a little tips. Then, a waitress forcefully demanded a 10% tip. I dont think this is reasonable, tipping is a voluntary fee based on the dining experience, so why should I pay more than $15 for such a bad experience? Although in the end, for my own safety (she didnt seem to let me out because I didnt give), I tipped 10% or more...
An actual good korean place to go to. The food is very good and atmosphere makes me feel as if I am in Korea which is cool. Just the only issue is you will need to pay for parking if you wish to come down here.
Huh Ga Ne place has been one of my go to favourite Korean restaurants for many years. Every time I go, the Kam Ja Tang (Pork Bone Soup) is a must order. The soup is so flavourful and delicious with just the perfect level of spicyness. The pork bones have plenty of meat to compliment the purple rice that the soup comes with.
Pretty mid Korean restaurant, not that good but food was fine. I ve definitely had better but this was good in a pinch. They do give 6 sides but they all taste pretty bland. The quality of pork in the pork bone soup was a little too fatty in my opinion, I would prefer them to clean up the pork bones a little bit. There is a lot of pork fat and pork sinew compared to the edible amount of pork meat.
I come here many times. The food is good, but the service isnt.
A great 24 hour restaurant which we enjoyed several times. During the lockdown, we ordered from many Korean restaurants and found that only this place was one of the two that we end up reordering. Dine-in is normal, not much for esthetics, but the variety of food taste good. So far, all of our servers have been nice to us. Being congenial to the servers go a long way.
The experience was very bad. I went to eat after get off work in the morning and the four of us had a barbecue for 240. They tried to steal the tip from me.
Rude and racist service forcing tips.
There is sundae soup, but the rice is not cooked so it almost feels like eating rice.
This place is 24/7! I have been here twice, once during the pandemic (pre renovation) and last night. During the pandemic I promised myself that next time I come I will dine in the section with very low tables and sit cross legged for the full Korean experience. It looked awesome and very authentic, unfortunately when I went last night they had removed that section entirely and now have regular booths as a result of their new renovation. Aside from that, if you come here keep in mind you will spend a lot of money. We ordered the T2 - Ju Mul Luck (Marinated Sliced Sirloin Beef) cooked on the table for two w/ Seafood Tofu Soup. We also ordered the M18B - Warm Bi Bim Bap. It came with 6 complimentary sides (Radish, Kimchi, Been Sprouts, etc.) We also received two bowls of rice. Lots of options as well, we enjoyed the style of eating and for a 24/7 spot this place is definitely great! I probably would not get the Ju Mul Luck again as I feel like there wasnt enough beef for $70! I recommend comming here it its late night and its after regular hours, for a little bit extra money I will rather eat this than go to a fast food place! To my surprise, my absolute favorite thing that I ate here and I thoroughly enjoyed was the Seafood Tofu Soup! I will most definitely order that again separately and come here again during the cold winter months for it. The soup was nice, creamy, spicy, full of flavors and had great seafood bites to it! 10/10 I recommend that soup, add a little rice to it and you got yourself a full meal almost.
Hahahahahaha I never thought I would write a 1-star review, but from the first time you put food down, dont you basically say, where should I put it? Hahahaha I even gestured to put it in the front because it was my close friends brother, but he ignored it and put it in the middle so we could take care of it. Since you re so dumb, it s kimchi, right? Isnt it? He said this and when paying, he asked me to pay this much with one card and use this card for the rest, so he frowned and said, I cant pay separately on weekends. Then, while I was paying, he asked me to take out, and he said, Can I give you a box or something? I dont know what I mean. How do you know? So I asked, Yes? and asked, What are you giving me? So I noticed this and asked for this, so he gave me two different-looking boxes, but he didn t tell me what to do, and only focused on the tip, right? So, when I said no tip, is this your first time in Canada? Hahahahahaha. Its really ridiculous. It was in front of my close friend at the time so I didnt say anything. Ive lived a long life, and those who have lived for a long time will know better, but I give a tip when I think I received good service.^ ^ Then, in Canada, you have to give it as a matter of course. His expression was sour as he said this, but he was really going to reply, I didnt give it to you because it was cheap, but I held back and gave it 1 point before eating it. I should have read the review, but its a shame I paid this much money for a place like this. I wont visit again. Thank you for giving me this experience.
Great for a late night bite since they re open 24/7. We came in at around 11pm and the place was bustling! Even with the restaurant being busy we were seated fairly quickly. We ordered the BiBimBap in the hot clay pot ($1 extra) and Ju Mul Luck (T2) off the Table Cooking menu. The Ju Mul Luck came with a bunch of sides, rice, lettuce and a hearty seafood tofu soup. The sides might have been my favourite part and added nice variety while you re going through your meal. I personally found the BiBimBap to be on the bland side but the sauce that was given for the meat helped a lot. My best friend really enjoyed the seafood soup and would come back just for that. Our servers were slow to get our order but were quick to get us our bill haha. We spent about $90 for 2 people and although it is pricey for what it is overall we had a good experience.
Parking: Right next to the restaurant Food
Bustling spot for good home style Korean food, 24 hours a day! The renovation eliminated the option of sitting cross legged on platform. But sitting at the regular tables lets me focus on enjoying the spicy and bold flavours of the main and side dishes. Take a look around at the other tables for an idea of whats popular here and you might see something like spicy intestines pan fried at your table. Personally I like the spicy goat soup to warm me up or the beef rib soup for when I want something without the spice. The waitresses buzz about while trying to keep up with the crowd ranging from young friends to older business men so settle in, soak up the happy energy, chow down, drink up and you too will get into the spirit of Korean style nightlife. Enjoy!
No more unlimited refill for side dishes and treated us with the used steel metal scrubber. Never visit again.
Would definitely give 5 stars for food and services during our dinner, however, at the end, old lady was forcing us to pay enough 10% of tip, otherwise I guess she will not let us leave the restaurant (even you dont have $1-$2 in coins, but she did care about this little amount). I dont know why they can risk their business and customers just for these little pennies. Would not recommend at all even the food was okay.
Loved it! Good food & good pricing
Its really disgusting, I ate wires out of the rice. Still dont admit it. They didn t even offer water, and they had the nerve to force a tip! I really got used to it! Hot chicken!
Great food very tasty pork bone soup Staff is attentive they are open 24 hours. Recommended dishes
my asian friend brought me here to try the most famous korean beef intestines place in north york. it was okay not too bad not too good
The staffs service here is terrible, even though the food is not too special, they are even very arrogant and have an attitude towards customers. The service attitude is very bad, not worthy of what they asked us to tip them at least 10% of the total bill. If they serve with a friendly smile and polite, we are willing to tip a much higher value. I will never come back here and will not recommend it to anyone! Is this the Korean way of serving??!??
The food was pretty good but very very expensive. It was very empty during lunch hours so they kept giving us good service. I would recommend if it was not as pricey.
Food was okay, service was so so. I used to come here many times 2-3 years back and decided to come back today. Lots of change has been made to this restaurant in a not very good way. The waitress was super weird for demanding more tips when we paid in cash and wasnt gonna let us go until we give her more. Never coming back again
We went in during midnight, one of us had a takeout order from here, then we tried to order some food, being told we cannot eat their take out on table. Waiter blames us for only place 1 order and show altitude of refusing to place order. We decided to walk away, then we were told we cannot leave because our order is already being cooked. This restaurant force customers with compulsory consumption. I am leaving this negative google review as part of guidance from lawyer, Ministry of Government and Consumer Service, CPO.
I would give no stars if I could! Literally no service provided. We were told to sit down by the windows and given a menu with no water. Placed our order and still no water, yet a group of Koreans came in and they were served immediately (water was brought to the table alongside menus and napkins). 6 servers working (even 2 made eye contacts with me when I had my hands up for a few minutes) yet still failed to come by to see if we needed anything. 4 workers including the 2 that made eye contact with me was busy chatting at the cashier, I had to physically get close to a worker to ask for water. This is ridiculous!
Girlfriend got food poisoning from the pork bone soup - was admitted to the er the next day
Huh Ga Ne is pretty decent if you re trying to find a restaurant that can service a group of friends after 12am since tons of restaurants around the area close. Reading other reviews I didn t receive stomach flu or steel wool wires in my food, so I m glad I dodged that. I thought the food was okay. Was it the best Korean food I ever had no. But manage your expectations if you re going to a 24/7 Korean restaurant? If you re eating a meal in the day there s tons of options before you decide here, but if you re coming here late at night and want Korean food then I would say the restaurant is alright (minus the steel wool and stomach flu reviews).
Golbaengi muchim (first time trying. Not my thing. Very strong intense flavour too spicy and salty. Better eat with ramen
Very bad attitude. I ve already give 10% tips and she ask for more tips. The fish is expensive and not fresh. Never come back again.
The service is extremely poor. The last order was ignored. The waiter only collects money and doesnt care about anything else?
Great food terrible staff!
The only thing worthy of praise is that it is open 24 hours a day
This place was one of our favourite Korean go to before Covid. The food and service were excellent at the time, however our recent visit was sad. One of the server was perhaps extremely tired and won t bother to ask us for our order. The lack of enthusiasm was felt by her unwelcoming vibe. The food served was okay. It was the payment time that told me never to come back because more tip was being demanded. Had it been a pleasant visit and service, tip won t be an issue. It has really changed and not for the good.
I visited after 2 am and there were a lot of people even at that time. There were Chinese people and there were Indian people, and I was happy to see that the localization went well. The owner and staff went back and forth asking if I needed anything, and I really liked the service. Some places have poor service and only ask for tips. Anyway, it must have been difficult to work late, but the smile and service were nice, and the food was delicious. I ate sundaeguk, but next time I m going to try yukgaejang~^^
The food is okay but the service is terrible.
The food was so salty that I couldnt even eat half of it. The indoor environment is much cleaner than that.
The food was good and price was reasonable. Only complaint is customer service. They seem to hate their job so bad.
