Brought to you by the owners of a renowned restaurant that has operated for more than 40 years in South Korea, Koryo brings the true taste of Korean cuisine to Toronto! We are a family owned restaurant and opened up the restaurant to share our passion and love for great tasting authentic dishes. Our first location opened many many years ago at 5865 Leslie Street in a small plaza. Our signature dish is the famous Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup, which is also known commonly as Koryo Samgyetang in English.
This place made me feel sooo cozy and comfortable. Our server was Jeong-Ha and she's the best waitress I've ever met in Toronto! I'll surely visit here again very soon. My recommendation menu : Korean chicken soup
Hearty and delicious samgyetang with good service and plenty of banchan (side dish) refills. Came here for lunch and ordered the original samgyetang (chicken ginseng soup, $26) and the dol sot kimchi fried rice ($21). This was my first time having samgyetang and I thought it was very tasty. The soup was very clean and hearty, cleansing my soul after every bite. Furthermore, the chicken/hen was very soft and fell right off the bone; it was stuffed with sticky rice which I thought was very interesting but paired very well with the dish. I think it's pricey for what it is, but I enjoyed trying it. The service and atmosphere were very comforting as well. Would come back to try other items on the menu, as well as the samgyetang!
I have visited this restaurant on multiple occasions. Their ginseng chicken dish is of high quality, as is their bibimbap. On this particular visit, I decided to try their kimchi fried rice and jae yook dup bap. The overall quality of the food and service was satisfactory. In addition, this location offers outdoor seating for those who wish to enjoy the weather.
Very disappointed, I got the dol sot bibimbop, and yes they have a photo and also description says ground beef. Literally, it’s like beef dust, theres no marinate on the beef and its not like bulgogi style meet. This was almost just a veggie stone pot rice. I cant believe an almost veggie dish cost me $27, I wish I got P3 now. Is this inflation? Damn.
We had a fabulous lunch here on a friend's recommendation! Their fried chicken is extremely good considering it is not just a Korean fried chicken restaurant. Especially when paired with the pickled onions was very refreshing! They are very generous with their banchan and kept coming by to offer us to top up all of the plates.
Food was poor, atmosphere was standard with clean vibes and low-hanging lights I kept hitting my head on. They played lots of contemporary K-Pop songs. I had the cheese tonkatsu, it was a lot of cheese and overally fine except for the ends which were chewy. It came with a sweet-savoury tonkatsu sauce with horseradish notes. Rice was dry, but I enjoyed the cabbage salad. The cucumber side was also nice and staff is too absent to refill sides consistently. They claim to have the best samgyetang but it had neither rich chicken flavour nor the earthy herbal notes that samgyetang should have.
I have been a loyal customer of Samyetang for seven years, but my recent visit left me disappointed. The quality of the food has declined. Previously, the dish used to contain whole ginseng and plenty of sticky rice inside the chicken, along with an abundance of green onions on top of the soup. This made the soup flavorful enough that I didn't need to add salt. Additionally, I used to order fried chicken, and it used to come as a whole spring chicken. Now, it's just a few pieces of spring chicken. The most impressive was the rice cake. The rice cake seemed overcooked, so it was so soft and sticky, not chewy. The fish cake inside seemed to have gone bad from being frozen for too long.
My wife, friends and I went to this restaurant for dinner and we were pleased with the service. The waiter was polite and served our food quickly. This restaurant does a good job of maintaining the same taste of their dishes, but they lack variations of side dishes. Side dishes are delicious, but always the same. Typically, Korean side dishes are fresh appetizers, made with sautéed or marinated ingredients to preserve their flavors for a long time. The restaurant serves similar Korean food as other Korean restaurants but with a more formal presentation. The authentic ginseng chicken soup was served quickly and piping hot. The atmosphere is cozy and casual, and with excellent service, it is a must-try restaurant for those who enjoy Korean soups and stews. Overall, we highly recommend you try this restaurant and plan to return ourselves.
Overpriced, mediocre Korean food. Forgot the order entirely for one person at my table and they were unwilling to split bills. Terrible customer service, would not recommend.
Seafood pancake are oily, the chicken soup not have taste and the service not really responsive
Such good fried chicken, we come here every year for an anniversary lunch!
Food was good, excellent service
Really good samgyetang.
It seems to be the worst of the worst for the price... I spent close to 200 dollars and ordered 6 main dishes and alcohol... but the quality of the dishes was not satisfactory at all and tasteless... I didnt fill my stomach... The pork cutlet was about $10 max quality. But.. the price is $20.99.. the seafood and green onion pancakes are not fully cooked.. and the only seafood is a few pieces of frozen squid.. I wonder what kind of pride they have in setting the price so high while doing business with such quality.. do they have no conscience? This is the first restaurant to be given a 1 star rating. Its a mediocre restaurant that doesnt even deserve a 1-star rating... Id rather recommend Mapo Gamjatang or other Korean restaurants next door.
I wanted to try a new place and this place is so mediocre that would rather eat fast-food. Seasoning was absent in everything we ordered. They have good music, at least..
food and service sooooooooooooooo good
Delicious food, great service, sets a high bar for korean food in Toronto. Cant wait to go back for more!
Bussin!!! Definitely coming back
I like it here.
The place is neat and cozy. Staff was very nice and helpful. But the food took so much time to arrive. I ordered a Samgye-tang, the chicken is mushy instead of tender.
Love this place! The staff is super friendly, and the food is amazing. The small dishes are especially delicious. Prices are reasonable too. Highly recommend!
Was craving Korean food and wanted to try this place. Ordered Dol Sor Koryo Bibimbap (20.99$) and it was delicious! They have a great variety of side dishes as well. Only thing was the service, it was great but had to keep reminding the staff three times for the bill as they kept forgetting.
Weve been wanting to try samgyetang and Im not sure why this place is so highly rated.... It was super busy when we came by at 6:30pm for dinner. The samgyetang was $27.99 and tasted super bland. The hen was nicely cooked and falling off the bone but thats where our compliments end. The sides were a bit disappointing. The waiter told us we can add salt and pepper to our soup when he brought it over which I understand why since it basically tasted like nothing... There was a small piece of ginseng, a date, and some sticky rice inside the chicken so I could see why the soup had no taste. Definitely not worth the price point
Very healthy Dodd!
Yuck, there was a fly in my soup, very disgusting, ruined my meal. this restaurant s menu are all expensive overall but this is how they manage their hygiene, so gross. . How did they manage hygiene? Two fruit flies were in the air, and since it was served in this hot soup, it must have been fly stew, not sheep gom stew. The food prices are the most expensive among restaurants in Koreatown.
Everytime I eat here its such a wholesome meal. Gem of a restaurant in Sheppard and yonge area
Soooo good!
I personally very like the soup in this restaurant.like any types of soup
My friend was here a few times 1. Very South Korean; 2. Very fast, which is good when I feel hungry : ) Like the beef soup so much, highly recommend
No birthday specials in case anyone was wondering.
Had a good experience here that felt unrushed with a positive ambiance. They have a mix of Korean, Japanese, and some other dishes that you don t typically see at Korean Restaurants. I ate a hen in a pot.
I enjoyed the Dolsot Yukhoe Bibimbap and Dolsot Jeyuk Rice Bowl deliciously.
Among the easily accessible Korean restaurants in Yeonggil, the side dishes are the cleanest for my taste and the servers are always friendly, so I go there sometimes when Im eating alone! I usually eat lamb soup, but today I was craving yukhoe bibimbap, so I ate stone pot yukhoe bibimbap. Its natural because its a stone pot, but the pot was so hot that while I was mixing the rice, the yukhoe was cooked and it became bulgogi bibimbap The bulgogi bibimbap was delicious, but yukhoe bibimbap is an option you can choose from regular bibimbap. What if there was this..! Always eat deliciously!
I am so happy to share my experience at the restaurant. I ordered kimchi fried rice! I loved the flavour, it s so balanced! Will definitely go there again!
Great as always! Delicious food and lovely, respectful and nice staff. Highly recommended!
$30 for the gingseng chicken soup has no taste of gingseng, only two tablespoons of sticky rice . Watery soup very disappointed the packaged one I bought from Korean supermarket tastes even better
It was my first time to this restaurant and I love the atmosphere and service was amazing food was mouthwatering lots of options what to choose !! Overall it was great experience to try Korean food highly recommend
I stopped by on the first day of my business trip. I ordered several good dishes to go with beer, and the quality and taste were better than most bars in Korea. It was Korean food that didn t feel particularly localized. The side dishes were also great. It felt like a homemade side dish. Its a bit disappointing that the lighting is a bit dark.
Bibimbap is hot fresh with abundant veggies. However it was tasteless, so does the side dishes.
I ve been here twice for lunch and lunch takeout. Both experiences were great! The lunch specials are pretty cheap in today s terms. The staff are friendly, smile, patient, and accommodating. A friend has special dietary needs (gluten-free and soy-free) and the waiter took the time to check with the kitchen and let her know. I had the kimchi fried rice and my friends had other dishes and we all enjoyed our food. We wanted to catch-up and asked if it was okay if we stayed after we paid (it was quiet) and the guy was very nice and kept refilling our water without us asking too. For takeout, I happened to be in the area and saw their sandwich board and thought why not? I ordered the kimchi fried rice and also squid takeout. I ll definitely be back!
3.5/5 Not bad but pricey for the portion size and average Korean food. Broth for tofu soup could be more flavourful but I enjoyed the variety of side dishes, especially the eggplant.
Food fufufufu
Service is good but food is terrible. If you want authentic Korean food, there are better options. Food
We enjoyed a quick dinner here. Service was efficient and friendly. Veggie and meat eaters were all happy
Good authentic Korean food. The food is more suited to Korean palates in that they dont use much salt in their cooking, but will provide salt and pepper at table-side for customers to add as much as they need. The customer service is very friendly and food comes out quick
The ginseng chicken soup is so delicious!
Lovely service and delicious food!
Service was great, very attentive, kind and warm smiles. Food was good, if you re looking to curb that Korean craving this place is well suited. The complementary side dishes were great too, don t forget to ask for refills. Only thing I didn t like was music was kinda loud but I m also aware maybe that s just how the atmosphere is enjoyed by most patrons. Would come back.
the staffs were very nice and welcoming we went on weekday night so it wasn t too busy food and drinks were great very nice experience Food : 5/5 |
Good variety and portion sizes, for both the ordered mains and the side dishes. Stone pot/plate food arrives at a good temperature and stays warm. We had a very enthusiastic server with a great attitude. The music volume was very loud as we were seated under the speakers and it was difficult to converse.
All the soup in the plastic container is poured out. The plastic container is broken .
4.3/5 Good food with attentive staff. We had a nice lunch here. We started with the Pa Jeon which was hot and crispy. The Bibimbap was of a healthy potion with a variety of different toppings. I would have preferred bulgogi over ground beef, but that s a personal preference. Nice stop if you re in the area!
Stir-fried Bul Dak was very nice. Not too spicy and salty, chicken was tender too. The best part was eating each bite with the melted cheese. Special Seol Leong Tang was a perfect combination with that, as its on a plainer side. It could be slightly more salty in my opinion. There were side dishes which can be refilled. The radish pickles were perfect - well balance of spiciness, sourness and sweetness with good quality of radish. The side dishes in general were also can be more salty to me. Seating was comfortable and staff was nice.
Great dishes! Many free side dishes which is great.
Its been a while since I went on a weekend, and the side dishes that came with lamb soup, bulgogi stone pot rice, and sundae were all neatly set up and delicious. The side dish was especially delicious, the garlic sprouts. A lot of the food you buy outside is salty and sweet, but I liked it because it wasnt salty, sweet, or overpowering, but it was plentiful and delicious. The servers were also friendly and quick to respond. I enjoyed it so much that I am leaving a review! We parked in front of an empty commercial building between Gosam and Galleria, but it turned out that it was private property, so if we parked there, we would get a ticket. If you are taking a car, please avoid that area and park in an appropriate place.
KoSam Restaurant at Yonge-Sheppard deserves More than 5 Stars! The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were super-kind, the portions were super-generous, and the food was perfect. If you love Korean food or really just love great food in general- try this amazing spot! Its more than worth the trip to North York. We had the spicy Chicken Bokkeumtang with Soju. Will return again!
Samgyetang was perfect for cold weather! Special shout out to all the waiter and staff who were exceptionally friendly and kind and attentive and welcoming! Our server (we didn t get his name, but here s a picture of him) was super energetic and gave out such positive vibes, like if anybody s having a rough day, I would totally recommend going to this restaurant and pick up some good vibes from this guy
The best restaurant ive ever ate at. Wish I could give them 6 stars but unfortunately google wont let me. Try the pork dishes I promise it will change your life.
Needs more foods options on share dishes. Otherwise foods are so so from my opinion.
Samgyetang was amazing! The preparation was authentic and the side dishes were delicious as well. They even gave us refills of our favorite ones. We ll definitely be back. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on street level and there are no steps.
This restaurant is just about as average as it can get in a crowded and bustling choices of Korean food in Toronto. The fried chicken, bimbap are all average with reasonable price. The wait times on the flip side is short and service is great.
Nice place with good service. The chicken feet was really good and tonkatsu is really cheesy.
This place has really gone downhill, $30 for a barely filled bowl (was about 1/4 to 1/3 filled).
Good food but hard to call their number
Perfect dish for the cold weather. The waiter was very nice and quick. He checks on the table frequently and refills the side dishes. Radish kimchi was great too
Pretty good food, but i wouldn t say it was the best considering the price and quantity. for 20-30 i was expecting way more but the size portion is quite small and i would say the taste is pretty good but did not exceed my expectations. they offered a variety of side dishes that were quite refreshing though! overall, nice service adequate food, good taste, but expensive and small portions
chicken soup (very bland boring. But the ingredients are all fresh
All-time favorite place! Delicious as always & nice service.
A bit pricy, especially for a lunch. Over $80.00 for three of us. No drinks ordered, just food.
A great place to have authentic Korean food. The Bibimbap in a stone bowl was great and delish, and it comes with a soup and various interrupted sides. (Assorted pickled vegetables)
Delicious and fresh foods. It is a nice and cozy place to spend time and enjoy food.
Such a great restaurant for dining very good customer service
Great food and service. Busy and loud on a Friday evening. We got the Koryo ginseng chicken soup with glutinous rice inside which came with noodles on the side. Definitely a banger. As well as pork intestines and the tonkatsu set. I enjoyed the banchans too which included potato slices, bean sprouts, black beans, eggplants, kimchi radish, kimchi cucumbers. Would recommend visiting here!
Best Korean restaurant in north york area.
I visited Kosam Korean Restaurant for an impromptu dinner for two. The servers were all kind and couteous, and I was surprised by what a large menu they have. We ended up ordering the Tonkatsu set, the Koryo Bibimbap, and Kosam Yang Yum Fried Chicken. Everything was delicious! I was especially pleased with their fried chicken with the sweet and spicy sauce. They also had great side dishes, so it was a very filling and satisfying meal. I will definitely come back.
We called this place in to ask if we were allowed to sit at their patio and have lunch on a rainy day with our dog and both servers were great and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Same day we called many restaurants on the same street and none of them allowed us in except this place. We were happy to have an amazing food and service we got from Sanglk (unsure if that s his name) was amazing. Kid-friendliness: No kid, but allowed our dog at the patio and went above and beyond to give us great service. Server was amazing.
Food tasted good but was quite small. Portion was quite small - only maybe a 1/4 of the bowl had rice in it. I enjoyed the sides but it was kind of weird getting no kimchi at a Korean place. Service was quite good, probably the best service I ve had in awhile. I liked the decor as well. Overall good, but a bit small portion wise
Pricey but tasty - HL
Their Korean fried chicken was really good. I asked the server if they could reduce the spiciness, and they kindly did so. The seafood pancake was a bit oily, but still acceptable. The servings were good enough for two people, although slightly pricier compared to other places. Overall, it was a really good experience.
Stopped by this place on the hot day and sullutang was just phenomenal, so healthy and flavorful. Service was amazing. Will definitely be back soon!
Nice food, service people should help a bit to understand how to choose dishes and habits of Korean people so that non Korean people have have a better understanding.
Spicy pork comes with a variety of different side options which they can refill for you if you dine-in. Service is mediocre but the food is fantastic.
The waiter was just rude! Me and my boyfriend wanted to have some and turns out they dont have it on their menu, so we were deciding whether to try something else or leave. I grab my bag and was about to get up, the waiter goes byeee while my boyfriend was still sitting and asking me if I was sure about trying a different place. I wanted to ask him if there are any Korean restaurants that serve vegetarian options as well, since Im a vegetarian. He cuts me mid-sentence when I said Im a vegetarian and goes oh! Bye! In a mocking way as though Korean food doesnt have any vegetarian options. Didnt even get to try the food there but Im never going back to that restaurant ever again.
Great food, great prices, and great staff
This light is dangerous. When I get up, I always hit the light. It s very dangerous for customers.
Not enough beef in bibimpub, I couldn t even feel it and it was slightly cold, didn t enjoy it in short. On the other hand H1, forgot the name of the dish, was really good, beef was so well marinated, juicy and soft. Beef dumplings were great too. Service is not the best, we did not get water (all other tables did), they did not have Fanta and ginger ale and 30 min prior to closing started rushing us with the bill (but this part I can understand). Would come back again anyways to give it another try :)
Food was great. They are very kind
Very good
I ordered the beef stone pot rice and cheese fried pork chop set. The food quality was good. I will try other dishes again. The average consumption per person is about $25-30. Kid-friendliness: The clerk proactively greets you
5 star restaurant!
The menu and food looked promising in photos but the food was bland.
Came here on a holiday for dinner. It was pretty full by 730pm. Got the B1 (Koryo Bibimbap) and H4 (Dol Sot Kimchi Fried Rice) and seafood pancake. They were all really good. For the H4 stone bowl was still hot as I ate my last bite and with the combination of the spice. One of the best kimchi fried rice I ve ever had. Would come back just for this.
I used to love this restaurant for their clean food and side dishes, but I had a very disappointing experience last night when I went with my friend. Korean restaurants are recognized for their generosity in providing complementary side dishes, and at many places, you can get a refill. I m not talking about endless refills, but at least one refill of the side dishes is basic. Yesterday, I asked for a refill because my friend was saying that she loved the side dishes, and the server came back with a single cabbage salad side dish saying that the owner said they can t refill when we ve finished our meal. I was taken aback because my friend had an entire bowl of rice and half of her soup left - she was clearly not done her meal. We didn t know what to say, and finished our meal. I ve never experienced this at the restaurant, and I ve spoken with the owner before too, so I m surprised by it. Super disappointed and won t be going back.
Good atmosphere and very generous plates! Tasty and spicy! Delicious!
One of my fav Korean places ever. Great food and atmosphere. Prices are a big higher but its well worth it
The sweet and sour pork in stone put was really good but the regular bimbimbap that we ordered not in the stone put was very bland. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible even though theres a giant sign that says so
Dolsat Koryo Bibimbap and the fried chicken were excellent. Id wish for more ground beef in the bibimbap, but the vegetables and mushroom were flavourful. The side dishes were OK, nothing too exciting about them. Would come back again to try their other dishes!
Lovel samgyetang and cheese tonkatsu (pork cutlet). Seoul lung tang is also delicious!
There are many Korean restaurants in the Yonge & Finch area so we picked one for lunch today. We see that KoSam has some decent reviews so we decided to give them a try. It was 1:30 so the place wasn t busy which is ideal for a family of four! Servers was readily available so we had our order in quickly. All dishes we ordered were nicely done and delicious. Kids enjoyed the tonkatsu and the tofu soup was on spot. Will definitely recommend this place to others looking for suggestions.
I came here to eat samgyetang. There are a lot of customers. There were many foreigners too. it is delicious. It reminded me of Korea
Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs bit bathroom may be a peoblem (common w yonge street front place) Food
Ginsing Soup was good, and included free appetizers that korean restaurants normally give. They didnt have of the sweet potatoes I was expecting though. Parking: Basically, no real parking for most Downtown Toronto/North York business, lucky if you find one outside on the street, otherwise, look for underground parking and pay the price.
The food was enjoyable, but is as average as it gets for Korean imo. Dolsot bibimbap had fresh ingredients but the sauce was a little one-note. All the bone broth-based soups are unseasoned and meant to be finished at the table with salt and pepper, but heavily lacked umami and depth so it tasted like salt water with a lil ~something~. Though if you re someone who prefers very light simple broths, you might enjoy it more than I did. If not, I would just stick to the spicy broths for a safer choice. The yangnyeom fried chicken was great though!
Bibimbap was great, but tonkatsu with cheese had so much cheesy substance in it that it was hard to find any tonkatsu there.
Kosam is a Korean restaurant situated in a dense cluster of restaurant outlets and condominiums. There is only street parking in surrounding areas or you can park in the garage next door. I recommend parking at the residential streets about 1 block west of Yonge St. Its free parking after 6 pm. The restaurant was very busy and luckily my brother got a reservation for 7pm. We ordered the following: H6. TTEOK GALBI JUNG SIK $20.99 - Grilled minced Korean style short rib marinated in soy sauce. Served on a sizzling plate with a cracked egg, rice cake, and cabbage. F1. Kosam fried chicken $20.99 - crispy boneless fried chicken thighs. B3. DOL SOT KORYO BIBIMBAP $19.99 - Koryo bimbimbap served in traditional Korean hot stone bowl B4 DOL SOT NAH MUL BIBIMBAP $19.99 - vegetarian DOL SOT KORYO BIBIMBAP A2. PA JEON (SEAFOOD & GREEN ONION PANCAKE) $19.99 - Korean style pancake made with shrimps, oysters, squids and green onions, etc. The bibimbap and dupbap came out first. You would think the PA JEON pancake would come first since its an appetizer. I had to wait for an extra 15 minutes before my Kosam fried chicken would come out. The server said they only have one deep fryer, and they are very busy. Getting my fried chicken and pancake order when my family is almost finished eating was disappointing. It looks like the kitchen could not keep up with the volume of orders. Pancake was mostly green onions and not much seafood. I did see some pieces of squid but no shrimps or oysters. The pancake needed seasoning. The soy sauce provided helped offset the blandness of the pancake. My wife enjoyed the minced kalbi rib, which was like a burger steak. The dish was well executed with a cracked egg, rice, and veggies on a sizzling plate. Overall experience the food is decent, and some minor adjustments in the kitchen to ensure appetizers come out earlier and to get orders out in a reasonable amount of time. Please make sure the you give more seafood in your pancake. I would give them another try and hopefully see some improvements.
Amazing food but more than that was amazing service! The server did an exceptional job. Never had this kind of service, it was lovely eating here. My boyfriend and I really like this place :)
Good food in general. Their wing appetizer is not bad. Their side platters do not offer kimchi btw
The food is amazing! We got the crispy chicken (only available at this location), samyetang, cheese tonkatsu, dol sat bibimbap.
The food tastes just ok, small portions compare to the price. I came here at night time, so it seems a bit dark in here. Some people might need flash light to see the menu . Parking: Its hard to find a parking spot here.
Food is really tasty except for the egg in veg kibimbap.
I had a delicious casual lunch here and the food was authentic and reliable! This was my second visit within the last 12 months! I would recommend this place if you re looking for authentic Korean food in the area!
The seating was a bit close but the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was ok, the quantity was filling. The service was great, the waiters were attentive.
Its good for taking away hunger but nothing more...
Great Korean food and one of my favourite spots in the Sheppard-Yonge area. The Kimichi Pancake is a personal favourite but everything Ive had here was tasty!
Delicious food and excellent service !
Good Korean food. The kimchi fried rice is our go to here. Food : 4/5
Great patio and food!
the beef bone soup is surprisingly good. kim chi fried rice and the pancakes were exceptional. nice place.
Very delicious Korean meals, really enjoyed
Food is delicious here
The food is delicious, especially the Korean fried chicken, and everyone praises the other food!
Hotstone Bibimbap was good
The sushi selections are amazing and taste is always spot on! Reasonably priced too.
Was there with my girlfriend, Korean, to tryout to see if this is as good as Sariwon. To our surprise Unfortunately was not satisfactory. Ordered Bibimbap and found a SPRIKLE of Beef on top. Talk about SKIMPING! Really sad to say but to NOT GIVE the CUSTOMER GOOD FOOD VALUE really turns off and like us we Wont be back
Great food and service. The main and side dishes were seasoned perfectly using fresh ingredients. The broth tasted healthy and delicious. Servers were friendly, accommodating, and attentive. If I were to nitpick, their water tasted like tap water so being pregnant, I chose not to drink it. Other than that, a great place to enjoy quality Korean dishes. We ll definitely be going back.
Just dined at Kosam and Im blown away! The authentic Korean flavors transported me straight to Seoul. Not only was the food exceptional, but the staff were incredibly friendly. Cant wait to return!
Pretty decent Korean joint but a little over priced.
A very nice resturant and their foods are also delicious
We had the $25.99 ginseng chicken soup and $21.99 cheese tonkotsu set for lunch, and we enjoyed it overall, but it was pricey. Some people may choose to add salt to the samgyetang, but its meant to be healthy and tasted fine anyway. The cheese tonkotsu was delicious, but not worth the price because the 4 pieces were more cheese than tonkotsu, and dont get the set for +$3 because there wasnt much rice, the salad was the same as the side dish, and the soup wasnt very good. The side dishes were decent, and the service was great!
I loved this place! The best samgyetang Ive ever had. Very flavourful and fresh. The service was also amazing. Really good vegetarian banchan. I recommend everyone to give this a try.
Wow! Delicious Korean food! I had the Samgyetang chicken soup which was filled with ingredients and so satisfying! Another highlight was the seafood pancake, so crispy! Highly recommend!
What a nice little place on Yonge St. Our serve was sweet and guided us throughout the ordering process. The hot stone bibimbap with all its sides was yum. The only issue was lack of salt. It was so lightly salted, I could hardly taste the dish. Will also recommend classic Soju with a sprite, if youre planning to order a drink.
I think this is the most delicious and cleanest Korean restaurant in Uptown. Its a bit expensive, but I think its better to pay a few more dollars and eat properly prepared Korean food! In addition to samgyetang, the bibimbap was all delicious! All my foreign friends were very satisfied~
Amazing Korean food after a very long time. Really recommend. We got the dolsot and customized tteokbokki without fish balls. Everything was fantastic including the side dishes Vegetarian options: Dolsot, tteokbokki
Food is great! Service is fast but a little loud during rush hour because it fills up! Understandable because its a smaller space
The food came out quickly after ordering. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The kimchi pancake was especially tasty. Service from the staff was good even though it was a busy Friday night. The restaurant is small, so it gets really loud.
Service was friendly and food came out really quickly. We ordered the jjigae and spicy bul dak and it came out fresh and hot. It was a very good portion size for both items, had a lot of flavour and spiciness to it. Also came with side dishes too which was kind of them, and I think they gave free refills for those.
Good Korean food with a very enthusiastic and friendly host. I would come back.
Ordered a few things on their menu - would go back for the rice cake and fried chicken!
One of the best Korean restaurant in Toronto The food is amazing and the staff is so thoughtful and lovely
The samgyetang is very tasty, and the portion is good. It feels very nourishing with the variety of side dishes.
Delicious Korean restaurant. The staffs are attentive and kind. Delicious and filling foods, with high quality! I recommend others to try their soondae! + do not try their green tea samgyetang.. I thought it would be green tea bag, not matcha. They dumped a surplus of matcha powder, and I could barely eat it.. it was beyond bitter and not at all appetizing. I felt sick after eating it :(
I had the chicken bento box, and I found that the chicken was kind of dry.
Great food!
Good food, great service. One of our friends was running really late, they were really patient with us.
I think this place is more of a 3.5. I quite liked their bulgogi bibimbap and the beef bone broth soup- had good traditional flavours. I find the price on the higher side - in general i think they are about 20% mor eexpensive for the same item when compared to other korean restaurants nearby and i dont think it tastes significantly better or anything to justify the price difference. I personally found the ban chan really disappointing as the pickled items were so bland and flavourless - nothing we had that day was even spicy (and i have low spice tolerance) and side dishes are usually what i look forward to the most at korean restaurants.
Good food, one of the better bibimbaps in the area. Slightly more expensive than expected but worth the visit and the banchan we re very tasty
Great
Took my parents there for dinner, they loved the food!
Went for Lunch Sunday. Food is amazing and flavored well. My son is a picky eater and I m happy that they have an option of original/ non-spicy fried chicken. I always love the banchan ( small side dishes) that goes with every meal. Not boring salad but bites of different greens and vegetables. We will go again this weekend and try the other stuff.
Visited on a Saturday night and was lucky to get a table as the restaurant was popular. The staff were friendly, yet, very busy, however, there wasnt a long wait to take the order. My Donkatsu was good, yet, my friend didnt enjoy her fish pancake or the beef and tofu soup as much. Prices were pretty reasonable.
My wife and I came here on a whim. She wanted to eat something hearty and comforting and we decided to visit and are really glad we did. My wife ordered the traditional Korean Chicken Soup and I ordered the Beef Bone Soup. The portions are generous and the side dishes were all very tasty. The service is amazing. Special thanks to Daniel and the other staff members for making our first visit very memorable. They are all kind and very attentive to all their guests (the restaurant was full at the time). We will definitely return. Highly recommend.
The servers are so energetic and polite. They could refill the side dishes up to three times. Personally I love the spicy radish most. Long line after 630. Be aware
Good and atmosphere is great
The karage chicken was excellent, and the katsu was light and flavourful. However, the soups were rather plain, especially the ginseng chicken soup, it really under performed.
Food is good. Ginseng chicken is very good here. I had the kimchi pancake, it was ok. Food in general I think its good. But not amazing. Price is a little high I think, but may be its post covid pricing. Service is excellent. Servers are attentive. Atmosphere is good, relaxing. I will come back again.
It was so clean, the food was so delicious, and all the staff were friendly
The Korean Samgyetang chicken is really soft and delicious. Gomtang is also delicious
