Korean street food
Nice place to have perfect Korean Street food. The place for dinein is small but it’s worth to wait if needed.Staff are super friendly. We tried the Korean fried chicken, Rose Tteokbokki, Tuna rice bowl.
Food was so delicious, large portions, and affordable price! Fav was the chicken and rose tteokbokki. A small but cozy spot. Service was really good, they were so nice. You also get a discount if you pay cash. Now one of my fav places, will def go back! Perfect for your cravings.
No frills restaurant with delicious food for a pretty reasonable price. Pretty small space of about four or five tables for two in the restaurant, they also seem to get pretty good business from takeout. People working here seem very nice and friendly as well. We ordered the creamy basil pasta and the rose chicken bokki. Both dishes were delicious with super rich flavours. I'm actually a little sad I didn't choose the udon option instead of the pasta because I think it would have gone really well with the sauce. The rose chicken bokki had a decent amount of chicken in it as well. Restaurant also has a 10% cash discount which makes the already reasonable prices even better. Would definitely come back to try more dishes.
If you are craving good Korean comfort food, head to Woojoo Bunsik! Jumokbap (Korean rice ball) was a perfect combo of mayo, pickled radish, seaweed, onion chips and rice. They provide a plastic glove to mix the ingredients together so that you can make them into rice balls :) Rose Tteokbokki (Korean rice cake) with hot dogs, onions and wide sweet potato vermicelli in rose sauce (Korean hot chilli paste with cream) was perfect. The rice cake and vermicelli were soft and chewy and lathered up the creamy and not so spicy rose sauce. Deep Fried Chicken in Sweet Spicy Garlic Sauce: You can’t go wrong with Korean deep fried chicken in sweet spicy garlic sauce. So duk so duk (Deep Fried Rice Cake and Hot Dogs) in sweet spicy sauce hits that rice cake and hot dog craving. Deep frying the rice cake is just a perfect combo of crispiness and chewiness :) Heads up, seating is limited at this place. Edit: We came for a follow up and food is still amazing as usual. We had the Cream Udon, Rose Chicken Bokki, and So duk So duk. The Cream Udon was good with perfectly cooked udon and a great creamy mushroom soup like sauce. The Rose Chicken Bokki was flavourful with good chunks of juicy tender chicken and chewy rice cakes. The So duk So duk was a delicious combo of rice cake and sausage.
Cute little shop for Korean street food. Everything was flavourful and delicious and fun to eat. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend the rice balls. The fried chicken come with pieces of chewy fried tteokbokki. It’s a small space with very little seating so maybe don’t go with a large group.
Great gem for Korean street food! Very small place with only 2-3 tables, ideal for takeout. - Tuna rice ball: so flavourful and enhanced by the bits the crunchy texture - Rose tteokbokki: just the perfect texture of chewy/soft with a powerful sauce - Rose pasta: had a very similar but slightly sweeter sauce to the rose tteokbokki, the noodles were quite al dente - Cream udon: noodles were slim and bouncy, the sauce was super creamy and umami - Chicken bokki: mainly rice cakes and a few chunks of chicken, with a slightly sweeter sauce than the rose - Fish cake skewers: tasty with a clear and pleasant soup All the spice level ordered was mild, but we found it fairly spicy. Prices are pretty cheap with slightly smaller portions, but overall quite worth it for tasty small plates perfect for sharing!
I saw videos of this new restaurant and wanted to try it out. The North York location is TINY. There are only 4 tables in the entire restaurant. Dine in time is only for 1 hour as the waitlist can get long. This location is definitely better for take out. My friend and I ordered the rose tteokbokki with fish cakes, spicy crab meat rice ball, cheese butter fries. My favourite was definitely the spicy crab meat rice ball. All the dishes had lots of flavours and the portions were big. All the prices are very affordable as well. I didn’t see any washrooms. Overall, loved the food here. I would definitely come again for take out or visit the other location. Highly recommend.
Ordered rice balls, fries, and pasta. We enjoyed everything. The service was really fast. The place can only accommodate 10 people I guess. But regardless, this spot has a lot of customers going for take out. Most of the meal even though they said it's single serve, it was a pretty generous serving. Happy to find this spot and it's a reco for people who are into rice ball and korean spicy noodles/pasta.
They are great at what they do! Food is great!
Great tteobokkis Vegetarian options: You can opt out sausages then every option can be non meat. Parking: Park at the back of the building (south side)
Guys I got food from here 10 days ago and I m still thinking about it. It was so freaking good omg.
I Love woojoo. I would come here everyday if i could.
I used to eat it quite often, but since I moved, I ate it again for the first time in a while, but the sausage seems to have a bit of a smell. Always. I added sausage and ate it all, but this time there was something unique about it. I couldnt eat more than three because it tasted like ham.
This is my first time eating here after always using Uber. The store is clean, the kitchen is clean and friendly.
staff is friendly, food is tasty. portions very little I dine in before with friends and we are very satisfied with taste and portions. I then went back weeks later for takeout, and the portions then were very small, surprisingly. pictures attached.
All delicious!!! The food is yummy and cheap, very good restaurant! I always come after working
Very nice place, overall good food, quick service. Seating and parking are minimal but overall very clean and affordable place.
My go to place for rose tteokbokki and rice balls. I always ask my husband to buy me some if he is ever at Finch and Yonge.
I absolutely love coming here with my friends! As a multicultural group, it is often not easy to find restaurants we all enjoy. However, we all love this place! There is not too much seating area so there is sometimes a bit of a wait, but is so worth it. Prices are fair.
Really delicious. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
The server was very kind and the food was absolutely amazing!
Ordered by Uber. The way I paid 20$ to get what I call a depression meal... pasta plus a white sauce plus a sausage chopped in there. no herbs, no taste, smallest portion that would maybe feed a 10 year old. do not recommend it at all, i was looking so forward to it and got so disappointed
great food and great price and the staff are so attentive and kind
This is my friends and I go to food place as they have so much delicious foods to offer and to top it off the staffs are very warm and welcoming! Definitely one of my favourites
Kid-friendliness: More space pls and thank you:) Food
Excellent food Excellent service. Small but clean Vegetarian options: There are options Dietary restrictions: Ask cashier regarding ingredients Parking: Its tough. Find a quick spot and leave your hazards on Kid-friendliness: High chair available. Noted small restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Roll in roll out
Ive been coming here for years. Tonight was the last order. Quality has hit rock bottom.
They should update their online menus as prices have increased. Additionally, portions have gotten smaller and the quality has drastically gone down. Used to be one of my favourite bunsik spots but won t be coming here again.
I loved its food. Its delicious, good size and great price. The only thing is the place is small so you have to wait.
I love this restaurant. Tasty
The staff is so friendly and the food is always so delicious that I come here often
Really good korean snack food. Reasonably priced with cash discount. Pretty small with limited seating so can get crowded.
Its good but all foods here have a sweet taste to them. Tuna rice ball is the best thing so far. And the place is so small so if you are looking for dining you have to reserve at the counter and wait a little for your seat.
restaurant is a bit small but the food here is really good! Decent sized portions and affordable prices.
I was happy to find a good place with chewy and soft tteokbokki. However was fairly disappointed when the server took a wrong order, did not offer to replace it even though they were told immediately. Regardless of that, their mild spicy is definitely not what most people would expect, because they put plenty of (korean) black pepper on every mild dish as others have pointed out. Will give them another chance
Nice place for lunch. Can enjoy in the restaurant and take out
Tteokbokki was absolutely delicious - especially the regular flavour. I still prefer the rose from Sinjeon but this was solid too. Definitely get the cheese on top because it made it even better. Wasn t a big fan of the cooked salmon rice balls because it was a little dry. Seating is very limited inside especially during meal times.
Reason for recommendation: One family has all the popular Korean snacks. It s 10+ miles per person and it s not scary even if you close your eyes. Super creamy cheese sausage pasta Everyone loves Korean tuna rice balls Super filling eel tofu skin sushi and egg sushi Super large fish cakes rose glutinous rice cake with super silky potato mousse Fried squid rings
I think its reasonable price than other rice cake stores. Everyone, try rosé tteokbokki, Cheese Butter Garlic Fries, Cheese Ball, Salmon Tofu or Rice Balls. Very yummmm. The spicy level is started a mild , so be careful :) Ive been going to this store for a year now, and it means my one of the favorite place and the taste remains the same. Vegetarian options: Cream rice cake , Basile rice cake, Rice ball, several Fried
The food was great and delicious!! Place was clean and service was nice.
3 of us came for a weekend in Toronto. Everything on the menu looks good and the choice was complicated! We finally had a rosée tteokbokki and a creamy carbonara udon. It was a delight! All 3 of us loved this order. When will we open in Montreal? :D
the cream dduboki is kind of mediocre but the rose was great will visit again Food
The proprietor tends to use inappropriate language with customers, making them feel unwelcome and prompting them to leave.
AWESOME JEJU STYLE PORK NOODLE SOUP!
Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Where Korean cuisine takes inspiration from Italian cuisine, a creamy gochujang rose sauce to accompany chicken, pasta or rice cakes. No matter what, you cant really go wrong with any.
I have been here twice, and had rose tteokbokki, plain tteokbokki, kimchi rice bowl, white sauce pasta, and plain rice bowl and it has always been so good Usually I judge a korean restaurant from the taste of their tteokbokki, because most of them taste similar because of the same tteokbokki packet gravy. But this has been exceptional The tteoks are soft and the sauce is always so rich and appealing to the taste buds. The caramalised onions and radishes are so tantalising and in such a good ratio on the rice bowl. Although the place is a bit small and has a bit of a waiting at times, I look forward to visiting again here to try more things. Pretty high expectations at this point, with the whole menu being curated and made to taste so great.
Food: 4 Stars Service: 3 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Value: 4 Stars Overall: 3.5 Stars Woojoo Bunsik offers a culinary experience thats both surprisingly vibrant and reasonably priced. Firstly, my friend and I ventured to try the rose tteokbokki with fish cakes. Notably, we opted for level 1 spice, yet, quite unexpectedly, it packed a fiery punch. Consequently, we found ourselves reaching for copious amounts of ice water. However, its crucial to mention that, despite the spice, each bite was bursting with flavour, making the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Additionally, we had set our sights on the Tofu Pocket With Spicy Salmon, but, regrettably, it was unavailable during our visit. This minor setback, however, led us to explore other options. We settled on cheese sticks and calamari. Both choices proved to be delightful, complementing the meal with their distinct textures and tastes. A point often overlooked is the size of the venue. The restaurant is quite compact, housing only four tables. This aspect, while potentially a downside for dine-in guests, underscores a different strength: the place is ideally suited for takeout. Furthermore, the affordability of the menu is a significant plus. All items are priced within a budget-friendly range, which is a rare find. In conclusion, Woojoo Bunsik stands out as a gem for those seeking flavourful Korean cuisine at a reasonable cost. While the space constraints suggest a focus on takeout, the quality of food remains undiminished. Im eagerly looking forward to frequent visits, particularly to try out other enticing menu items like rice balls, pasta, and, hopefully, the elusive tofu pockets. kellychan360
A little restaurant that makes a small space into a cute and welcoming atmosphere. Not too many tables and parking is limited. Got spicy crab rice bowl and fried chicken. The fried chicken was a very small portion, tasted like msg, and was honestly not very good. The crab rice bowl was so good though and I would definitely recommend it. My friend had the tteobokki and said she liked it
Friendly staff and the rice balls were litty! Also rosé toppoki so gewd! Highly recommend the crab rice ball option! There are a few seats here so make sure to snag one!
Food
The person that took my order was very kind
Very small place so not much room to sit so go early! Rice cakes were so soft and level 1 spicy was already a hefty kick. Love the sides you can order along with it (cheese stuffed anything is a win and juxtaposed the spicy sauce beautifully)
In General, the amount of food is small and especially the tteokbokki portion was too small, but the rose sauce was delicious.
Make sure you add sweet potato noodles, cheese and sausage to your tteokbokki!!! I love this place and the staff here are so sweet
One of my favourite bunshik restaurants around. Their pockets are fresh and delicious, the rice cakes were the perfect amount of chewiness, and their mixed rice bowls have the best flavour combinations. My favourite is the cream mala flavour with the wide vermicelli noodles!
I cant stand when they ask drivers to come and the food is not ready. You guys are the WORST!
You have to eat it once a week to feel full. Space snack
Insanely delicious - their Rose is to die for. Im coming back!!!!!!!
Crab rice ball (quite bland, should add more seasoning. Texture is good. Overall the food is underwhelming Cute place
Note I have never eaten Korean food before, however going to this place makes me want to try more! My friend convinced me to drive an hour away since that is the closest Korean food place that they think was a good first experience for me. We orders the rose Tteok-bokki and it was great. Love the flavours and the spice! The only thing lackluster was the Korean fried chicken. I know the restuarant is known for Tteok-bokki but i wished the fried chicken had a better crunch. Overall, an enjoyable first experience for me.
Two and a half sweet potato noodles, five rice cake pieces and five small pieces of chicken were in their Spicy Chicken Bokki which was $24. I shouldve taken a photo of the dish because it wouldve been a better way to show how empty the take out container looked when it arrived. So much sauce with so little contents in it. I was so disappointed. Definitely overpriced. Taste was not specially good but was okay.
The first time I ordered, the noodles were too sticky, so I asked for them separately when ordering for Uber, and they said they would send the noodles fully cooked along with a handwritten note. It seemed like they sent each takeout with care! It was delicious and spicy enough, and the rice balls we ordered together were crispy and really delicious! I adjusted the spiciness and my Canadian friends enjoyed it too. Good luck!
Woosik as it s known to regulars stands up well to its reputation as THE go-to tteokbokki joint for tteok/carb lovers We tried: - Spicy tuna rice balls - Spicy salmon rice balls - Original sauce tteokbokki - Rose sau (cream + original) - Jajang (black bean) sauce tteokbokki - Spicy salmon tofu pocket (like inari sushi - delish!!) Toppings: sausage + fishcake The tteokbokki is so soft and chewy with a super strong + flavour packed sauce!! Our faves are the original and rose sauces and we can t wait to go back and try all the other toppings (potato noodles and bacon sound AMAZING). Also their spice levels are nothing to sneeze at! We re p good with spice and spicy 1 was actually quite spicy LOL I appreciate that they re serious with spice The rice balls are also just as good ! Flavour is just perfect, it s interactive (you get a glove to shape the balls), and it does double duty soaking up any remaining teokkbokki sauce what is there not to love?? Note that their seating space is v limited (yonge + finch life ), highly recommend going before peak lunch hours to snag a spot or get take out!
space flavor
Soooo sooo good! Be prepared when you are planning to dine in. It is a small spot with 4 tables that seat 2 people. We were a group of 4 with no one ahead of us waiting so we got pretty lucky and was seated within 30 minutes. Highly recommend loading your tteobokki with a lot of toppings. We loved adding the sweet potato noodles, fish cakes, egg, sausages and cheese. For the cream udon, we kept it minimal. Tofu pockets were a nice addition to our meal. Rose tteokbokki was the group s favourite.
Finally took us 3rd visit before we got to try Rosa . IT was THE BEST EVER!! Well worth our trip Food
Please add basil cream tteokbokki to the menu like Samcheop Bunsik, please
From uber eats, the food was still very hot and fresh. I got the rose tteokboki and rice balls which were both great. However, it can taste a little too sweet but thats just my preference.
The best tteokbokki place in my life! I want to go there often, but its so far away that Im sad that I cant go there often.
This place is super cute. It is quite small, so if you end up at a busy time, it is unquestionably worth the wait:) Everything we tried that day was amazing! They also do take out, if you re not in the mood for the wait! Anyone craving for Korean street food, this is the perfect stop!
Great spot for Korean street food. The rose tteokbokki was delicious and there were options to adjust it to your spice preference. There s limited seating options so I would recommend take out or dining in with a small group.
Try the rose tteokbokki with added cheese! Small space, but hopefully they can expand in the future
Delicious little place to grab some good Korean grub. Food was yummy and price was reasonable. Their space is tiny though so it s usually hard to get a table or parking if you want to dine in. Recommend for takeout.
ROSE TTEOBOKKI TASTES EVEN BETTER THAN PLACES IN KOREA
Cute place in North York to satisfy your cravings for K-street food. Recommend their rose tteokbokki!
My soul food<3
The food here is amazing! I ordered the tuna sandwich and the grilled cheese. Amazing, just took a little longer than expected. Place is a little small but the food is amazing.
This place was great. Enjoyed the food, professionalism and cleanliness. Limited seating but they have a reservation system in check. There s also parking on the side street in front of the barbershop. The only negative is the portion size of the rice cake. Would be amazing if the ricecake was doubled since it s cheap. Portion size for the add ons is perfect. Had the tofu spicy salmon as well and that was amazing. Will comeback for it. See you soon! Cheers.
Great experience! The staff was accommodating and nice. Great reasonable prices and the food is actually delicious. A big fan of their rose sauce, i really like spicy food but level 2 spicy was quite a shocker because I wasnt able to handle it well. Overall good experience and would definitely come back. Wish there was more seating available though
We had a great experience with the kids trying korean food... very tasty! They need a bigger place for the line up
Rosé topokki is recommended! Their topokki is one of the soft and chewy, the best texture I have ever had. Sauce is so balance- sweet, spicy, and creamy. Makes me wanna go back for more. We also had their tofu skin pocket with spicy salmon on top and the portion of salmon was generous. Will come back for their toppoki!
Great atmosphere and quick service! I got the cheese butter garlic fries, spicy salmon rice bowl, and tteokbokki. Food was delicious and at a good price. There is limited seating but the wait was reasonable.
Came here for my husbands Birthday! The food was delicious! The spicy tuna balls and rose tteoboki is a must try. It s cozy spot with great customer service and food
The restaurant stops taking orders at 8:45 PM. the time on google says 9:00. Google actually lets you add what time the restaurant closes a kitchen but I guess the restaurant managers arent smart enough to know that. Waste of time driving here cause of other peoples incompetence
service is always good and best rosé sauce. only con is small portions if you do takeout
Love the teokbokki here. The rosé with cheese is sooooo good, i drive an hr just to eat here. Also the tuna rice ball bowl is great!
So very disappointed. Portion is way too ridiculously small. I ordered I a salmon ball rice but no salmon in it. I ordered chicken but few pieces of chicken in it. Totally garbage. I ordered via Uber probably this is the reason why? I almost feel Ike scammed by food. Unbelievably terrible!
Even though its delicious, its really, really delicious // craving it atm :)
Ordered plain Tteokbbokki. It wasnt a typical Tteokbbokki I expected. It was ok, i noticed unfamiliar spices.
Kinda disappointed. Food a bit salty for me.
Portions were incredibly small. I ordered the cream tteokbokki and it was mostly cream with 4 pieces of rice cake scattered around
Good food and portions, we shared the meal between 5 but would be best if we had 4 people. There was room to sit and push the tables together and had nice staff.
Stopped by this place around 1PM on a Friday and we were super lucky that it wasn t busy however, it picked up quickly after we sat down. theres only 4 tables with 2 chairs each so a total of 8 people can sit inside, we were asked to move to accommodate a group of 4 which is okay but I don t recommend dining in if you are a group larger than 2. The food itself was great and arrived to us quickly. we got 2 mild rose tteobokki, I could ve gone for spicer but my friend said it was spicy. We also added the potato vermicelli noodles which I recommend. Next time I want to try the rice balls! Looking forward to re-visiting soon.
BUSSINNN Omg this genuinely lived up to the hype. My friend and I were saying yummmm the whole time! We got the salmon rice ball and the rose tteoboki with sausage. The portions are perfect and the price is such a steal! It is really small but they are fast and seating limit is 1 hour so the turnover on tables is pretty efficient actually! There was a glove to make the rice balls and haha it was so cute! You could also use a spoon haha. The tteoboki sauce was so yum and awesome and it was perfectly spiced at a mild level. I wanna go back yummyyyyyy
Your cashier is very rude and impatient. I went into the restaurant the other night, trying to see if I can get a table at 8pm there was two people ahead of me and a table was clearing up. However, she was very rude and said you will not get a seat since our last call is at 8:30 she didn t offer any suggestions of a take out, or even say anything kind, only glares. I felt very unwelcome and decided to take my money elsewhere. If you want quality service, go next door to Brown Donkatsu
I came here after seeing their Instagram post because I was craving some savory rose tteokbokki. The taste was amazing, and they served a generous portion. Its the best tteokbokki Ive had so far. The rice cakes had the perfect chewiness and were incredibly soft.
The restaurant is super tiny and didnt have AC so it was super hot. But the the food was very good, I ordered the spicy tuna rice balls and the mala tteokbokki. I think the mala sauce was the best tteokbokki sauce I have ever had, the spicy tuna balls were good on their own but so much better with the mala sauce. Will definitely come back to order the mala tteokbokki again!
Not an ideal place to come & sit and enjoy. Staff working here are very unfriendly and they are quite vocal about what they believe in. I would never want to come here. Food
Tried this a while ago, small cozy restaurant. I feel like the food a fusion twist to the usual tteokbokki. It was pretty good and the mild spice was still giving me good vibes as my friend couldn t eat spicy this reminded me of the mild version of the samyang ramen. The rice ball was a first for time for us and it s interesting to have to mix it with a glove and rolling it up to eat, to be honest mixing it up like bibimbap would be the same thing. It s for the experience I guess, worth trying out but if it s busy the turnover can be a bit long as the service isn t the fastest.
Spicy salmon tofu pockets were great! Very tasty and friendly service.
Small space, good variety in the menu, and really good food. Enjoyed the variety in the dduk, unique chicken and cheese balls, rice balls served in a small wok. Will be back!
I come here at least once a week because of my cravings lol. I can t deny that the food is good but this place has probably one of the worst customer service I ve received my entire life. Except for one lady and one guy, all the other staffs are very unwelcoming and always seem unhappy to help customers especially the lady with the glasses and hair always tied up in a bun. Never wrote a review for this store but I was very disappointed with the said lady yesterday.
Rose chicken bokki add deep fried fish cakes is a must try! The tuna rice ball is good too The female cashier s attitude was not good but the other staff were friendly. Food
Prices are very good!! Could eat here everyday so yummy
I understand economy is bad doing business at this time is hard, but it happens to everybody This is what you get for 58cad on Uber cold and hard and way less compared to dine in. Apparently, you guys split one order into two orders. Ok This is how Korean people do business ..will never order anything again.
Food was okay, but the portion size is small.
Woojoo Bunsik is a hidden gem for spicy Korean rice cakes! The flavors are bold and authentic, leaving your taste buds tingling with delight. The menu offers a variety of options, each dish packing a punch of heat that will satisfy any spice lover. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make the dining experience even more enjoyable. Limited seating but friendly service.
It s really small so be prepared to wait if you re coming at dinner time. Maybe fits 10 ppl max inside. Rose teobokki is delicious. I really like their fried fish cakes and tuna rice balls. Maybe skip the cream teobokki cus it s really just cream.
Intention to revisit: 200% Food: Its hard to find a restaurant in Toronto thats comparable to a Korean restaurant, but I think this is the first time Ive seen one like this. The overall youthful feel is felt in the food. I recommend the rose tteokbokki sauce because it is really delicious. If you cant decide between rice balls and tofu sushi, I recommend rice balls. Its almost the same price, but the quantity of tofu sushi is much smaller. Both are delicious. Service: Orders accepted in Korean. Calculate first. No-frills service. There is Wi-Fi available exclusively for guests. Atmosphere: It was nice to have cute space-themed elements. There are only four tables in the hall, so you may have to wait.
The place is too small. The food and the service were quite good. Its so delicious! I have to go again!
Delicious! Will come again to eat. Really enjoyed the textures and flavours here. Limited seating so come in early!
Great food, had the rose tteobokki and tuna mayo rice ball, which was more like a rice bowl. Not too much seating, about 8 chairs so you will either have to wait or grab some take out if it gets busy. Parking: On the side of the building
I figured I ll try this place out because I had a craving for tteokbokki and LET ME TELL YOU, THIS PLACE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I got their spicy 4 tteokbokki (the spiciest) and tuna rice ball and both were so good! I wish I took some pictures but the smell of the food was too inviting it didn t even cross my mind at the time .
Its great but they have a small space, long wait/queues.. hope theyll do expansion
This place used to have the best tteokbokki. I dont know what happened but now everything tastes so salty... and there was a 30 min gap between what I ordered vs what my friend ordered (despite both being tteokbokki), so we couldnt enjoy the meal together. Customer service also was not the best. Especially the lady with glasses and a hat with hair in a bun... she didnt seem welcoming at all. Its a shame I wont be returning. I remember saying great things about this place with my friends and family, encouraging them to try. That definitely wont be the case anymore.
The people were friendly and I felt like I enjoyed the tteokbokki better than the tteokbokki I had in Korea, so I left the meal in a good mood.
Had the calamari very crispy and the rose toppoke. the toppoke sauce was very flavourful and the rice cake was perfectly cooked.
A real treasure in the heart of Willowdale for breakfast lunch and dinner - amazing comfort food or healthy options amazing every
Very limited dine in seating but they run a thriving take out business. Good variety of Korean street food with varying levels of spice. Some unique combinations and everything is delicious. They have more ingredients in the original tteokbokki orders without needing to add more than most places. Rose is a good choice for strong flavour and weaker spice levels. Black bean sauce is a great choice if you can handle spice.
Would definitely recommend! Had to wait for a while as the spot is a bit small and cozy, but it is so worth the wait. The washroom is also a bit small but its clean. The customer service is great :) We ordered rice balls (spicy tuna, spicy mayo salmon & the regular) and they were all so delicious! Also ordered spicy black bean tteokbokki, pasta and udon with sausage. We got spice level 3 (out of 4) which was actually pretty spicy but also very good! The cheese butter garlic fries were a bit too sweet for us. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and the food. Thank you for the pleasant experience, I cant wait to return! :)
I think many people will like this fusion of Korean snacks and Canadian foods. I like that the menu is diverse.
Limited seating. 8 seats
I never left a bad review before but here is my first one. Wrote my name and number on the waiting list for dine in. The manager said it would take less than 30 min. I waited 30 min outside because I didnt want to be on the way of pick up customers. No call, went back in to check. The server panicked, hid the waiting list and went to talk to the guy who looked like the manager I initially talked with. She said I need to wait longer, which I answered sure. She said 8:30pm is the last call. It was 8:10ish so I said okay, if it helps Ill order ahead. She said but I might not get a seat. I was confused. So I basically had no choice from the start? I asked her to show me the waiting list. The name of someone who arrived after me was crossed out just like those of others who got seated. I asked her if they got seated before I did, she said no they cancelled. I had no choice but to leave after wasting my time and being treated like an unwelcome customer. I understand that situations like this can happen but the servers unapologetic attitude and managers lacking ownership were very disappointing.
I got the tteokbokki and tuna rice ball. It was the first time I had to make the rice balls myself, so that was pretty fun. Everything was amazing . I would say dont be misled by the spice levels (1-4). I got 2, but even that was pretty spicy. Overall, awesome little shop to have lunch in <3
Been here many times, always delicious! But there are only a few seats in the restaurant. If you want to dine-in, you may have to wait a long time.
Place is taste small but the food was good.
Customer service was OK. Food was better than expected.
Cute lil spot but too small. Literally only 3 tables . 2 of them are a two seater and the other is table that seats 4. Food was good and nice and hot . We got chicken tteokbokki in a rose sauce w/ fish cakes cheese and spicy lvl 1. We also got the crab ricr balls. That was also really good. I would recommend a bigger location for seating purposes . Also a location at midland and finch to accommodate the asain community on the east side.
haha amazing place!! cheap and tasty - the only downside is that the restaurant is small, so you might have to wait a bit before taken to ur seat :-)
Rose tteobokki, tuna rice balls. Way too over priced for the portion. Portion is ridiculously small $15 for 8 pieces of rice cake. $10 for rice balls with bits of tuna.
There are 4 tables inside that are very tiny, so plan accordingly! The food is so delicious. The rice cakes were incredibly fresh and chewy, and I liked how they were a bit larger than average. I love rose sauce, and the level 1 spicy was a good kick! The deep fried seaweed rolls were so fresh and crispy as well. The price is so cheap!! A lot of other spicy rice cakes places charge double for the amount of food you get here. Try it out!
The staff is unfriendly and the food is not very good.
I got the rosé tteokbokki and the tuna riceball here, it was very delicious! Would come again.
The food was so good! Highly recommend :)
Haven t been to the place itself but I have ordered from DoorDash. I had the rosé tteokbokki which arrived hot and delicious it had sausages inside some caramelized onion it was absolutely delicious, tried deep fried laver roll for the first time it was amazing as well. And lastly I had tried the tuna toast which was interesting, there was some sort of sweet sauce which surprisingly worked very well with the sandwich. Would definitely recommend for people who like Korean food or people who like to try new interesting dishes.
Its amazing! Great service and nice staff always and will ever be the best Korean restaurant Ive ever been to!! But one thing I dont like is, the staff are forgetful about food and drinks when its almost time to go/the restaurant is almost closed. Plus I saw a big strand of hair in my food. Which wasnt pleasing. But over all everything was amazing
Wow wow! It was super delicious and the staff are super friendly ! Totally recommend a visit!
Really good price point and food is delicious too!
Small restaurant but good korean street food. Make sure to add the potato noodle to the tobokki!
Nice hospitality and food
Really good! Rose Tteobokki was very tasteful, really the best Tteobokki Ive had. 10/10. Lavender rolls were good too, but Im unable to say how good since it was my first time trying it lol. Very interesting snack. Tuna Rice Ball was good and fun! Had a nice time making the balls for my wife. It was a long drive to get there but it was worth it :)
Food is really good here! The rose sauce is excellent.
The best tteokbokki place .. My favorite !
Amazing food! Rose Tteobokki was very tasteful 10 of 10. Kimchi Rice Ball was good and fun!
The regular Tteokbokki was good, it was spicy. You should join with a rice ball, because the combination between Tteokbokki and the rice ball is perfect! The prices are reasonables and the quality food is high. You need to considerate that the restaurant is small, it only has 3 tables. I didn t like the customer service of the cashier, she wasn t polite when my friends and I preferred to change the order to eat in the restaurant instead take out as it was originally.
Delicious food, great service. Highly recommend
Great spot for quick, tasty korean street food. Small place, only 3 tables (seats ~8 max). Got the tteokbokki, pasta, garlic butter fries, and rice balls. The garlic butter sauce was not to my personal liking, as it was quite sweet. Cream mala tteokbokki was superb. The pasta was decent, though the sauce was similar tasting. The rice balls were fun and tasty. We ordered at the cashier, and they kindly waited on us like a regular dine-in restaurant. Prices are ~10-15$ per person.
Was amazing!! Mild is still a bit spicy so keep that in mind! Check out Torontofoodiefattie on Instagram!
Ordered the crab meat ball and rose chicken bokki. It was really good but I wished there was more rice cake in it.
I ve been here twice and it s been great both times! Just as a precaution, I would say a good group size to have, due to their small dine-in area, is 2-4 people max. And you need to make sure to put your name on the wait list ASAP for a seat. Very affordable. Very delicious Korean street eats. Very friendly staff. My personal favourites are the spicy mayo salmon tofu pockets and the spicy crab rice ball.
The cream tteokbokki is not seasoned at all. Please check the taste of the sauce before opening.
Their rice cake is definitely good quality with nice chew and as others have attested, keeps well even after a day in the fridge. The fish cake add-on felt a little steep given amount but overall the portion is fair for price. They said normal spicy is akin to Shin Ramen spicy but it felt spicier than that so I probably would try mild next time.
My wife and I shared the fried kimchi rice ball, which you roll yourself (in front of image, we added spicy mayo) and the rose tteokbokki (at the back of the image, we added cheese). We ordered normal spice level for the tteokbokki, which was actually pretty spicy and we are not the types to shy away from spicy food. The quality of ingredients was excellent, and the dishes we got complemented each other perfectly. These two dishes were the right amount of food for us, and the flavours were rich and satisfying. There are only four tables inside, so if dining in you may have to wait for a table, but it looked like there was quite a bit of take out there as well. Our experience was a legitimate 10/10; we will definitely be back for more.
Amazing food with really good prices!
Its so delicious
I wont call this as a street food because the food was authentic restaurant version. For anyone who doesnt like spicy food, please let them know because even the mild level feels really spicy. Overall I cant wait to try this place again
Tteokbokki was really good. Im going to get more add ons next time. The basic dish had the bare minimum. Im going to say its the best tteokbokki I had in Toronto so far. I had normal spicy and was getting a little runny nose at the end. Going to try this place again.
Tasty tukboki! As a Korean tukboki lover, I always try different tukboki at different places. So far, Woojoo is one of my favs. Their cream mala 1 spicy level was perfectly spicy and creamy. Still had the kick of mala which was great. Love their sauce. Only down side is that you have to add toppings otherwise it s almost plain rice cakes. But the price is still cheap. Love this place.
Customer service was great and the cashier kept smiling and was polite. We ordered rose ddukbokki and added chinese style noodle and sausages. The sauce was super tasty and our ssal dduk was so delicious! Will comeback for sure!!
10/10 place would strongly recommend! All the different type of sauces are so delicious. Service was amazing as well. Small store (wish they had more seats) so make sure to come early to grab a spot! Food : 5/5
Very cute and very tiny. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Vegetarian options: Vegetarians should note that most of the food cannot be made veg-friendly, but the street toast can be made without ham, and comes very cheesy and with a hashbrown.
I went yesterday with my friend and the food was super yummy 100% would recommend!! The only downside is that they have a small dinning space
Delicious food and extremely friendly staff. I really love the Rosé sauce. Definitely worth the try!
yummyyy
Beauty and tasteful. Over all I would rate flavour 9.5/10, portions 8.7/10, and service 10/10.
I bought a spicy chicken ttkeokbokkie for 15.99 each off Uber and what I get is a soup with 8-10 pieces of chunk chicken with next to no rice cakes inside. Totally not what I expected and not even presentable. Totally not worth ordering here. And yes I did pick up the order.
Im strongly recommend woojoo bunsiks ddokbboki. Their food is really tasty and portion is a lot. price is reasonable Im satisfied everytime of their food. its worth it please try every one !!!!
My favourite place in Toronto! I love their ddukboki! I wish there are more locations like yonge and eglinton. Id go everyday :p
The food was so good and our server was so kind and helpful. Every dish we got was delicious. Definitely recommend!!!
The food is so good. I love the rose tteok-bokki with rice cakes & the cream pasta. The tofu pockets for spicy salmon is also really good. Small space though so you might not get a seat.
I ordered rose pasta via Doordash for the first time and oh boy, it was very sweet. Like very sweet.
The food is so GOOD! My favourites are the rose tteokbokki and cream pasta. You can add cheese, sausage, glass noodles, etc. The space is very small so there is often a wait for seating but they also offer takeout. There is a cash 10% discount.
We got a take out since it s so packed always! But for right reasons!!We got their rose tteokbokki and crab rice ball and ohh boy I wasn t disappointed at all. The flavour was amazing! I ve tasted a lot of tteokbokki but this one won! 5/5 but I do wish I was able to dine it but regardless love it.
Good food and good service
Small shop, limited seating and parking. But the rice cakes are amazing! I really like creamy mala one!
Their rose tteokbokki is so good, you have to get it. Some of the best tteokbokki Ive ever had. Add-ons are a must, especially the deep fried fish cakes and ofc the mozzarella cheese.
Friendly service and absolutely love their food! So far tried their both regular & rosé tteokbokki, and the pasta as well, my favourite is their spicy salon rice ball! Overall food arent so spicy and good amount for one person, price is fair and decent! Bonus point, I love their theme and decorations its so cute! Wished the store was bigger though and have more space (pun not attended).
Our first time trying Korean street food and we will definitely be back! The dishes were so flavourful and such great prices. Definitely recommend giving them a try. It s a small spot (more for takeout) but they have a few small tables to accommodate small groups. If you re driving in, parking is a bit hard to find but there is street parking a few streets north.
Always delicious tteokbokki and rice balls! Mala Tteokbokki is very delicious. It feels like something between Malatang and Tteokbokki.
Ordered the Rose Chicken Bokki and the sauce flavor is great but it only came with 6 nuggets of chicken meat and 3 solo pieces of rice cake. Sooooooo disappointed as we made a special trip to try this new place. How can you sell this as a tteokbokki dish with only 3 pieces!?!?! Wanted to sit in to dine but not much seating space.
Hidden gem, is a really nice place and seriously, the food is AMAZING!!!!!! Everything is delicious cream mara was perfect. Congratulations !
