5000 Yonge St, North York, ON M2N 7E9, Canada
Wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas made with simple ingredients & served in a bustling space.
My Lemon Ricotta Pizza Tasted Soo Good I’m definitely coming back here again. This Is My New Favourite Pizza Restaurant In North York Toronto. Definitely a thumbs 👍.
This was a very good pizzeria !! From the food to the service. Our waitress was awesome, she was giving us all her favourites on the menu and even took her advice on the cocktails. The fried Gnocchi was fantastic! Highly recommend it for the appetizer. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu :)
I had the nduja pizza. It was quite tasty, but I think they overcooked and burnt the cornicione ,not just mine, but the other pizzas had the same issue as well. In my opinion, this place is also quite pricey for beers and Italian cocktails.
The buttermilk calamari was good but could be more crispy. The Margherita and Hawaiian pizza were delicious. Definitely would recommend both. The tiramisu was also delicious and not so sweet. Would definitely recommend. Service was AWESOME thanks to our server, Samara. Thank you for making our dinner experience fantastic and the tiramisu dessert recommendation :)
On our daughter’s Birthday, we visited the Yonge Street branch, we did not tell the staff at the very beginning, but one of them was very observant, she noticed our conversation and small decorative stuff. Then she proactively cheered us and prepared a tiramisu and lighted a birthday candle to give a little surprise for our girl. It was a memorable night, thank you Bruna! Thank you for her serving with passions! Apart from that, the food is very good, we enjoyed the Neapolitan style pizza!
Bruna was an absolute gem xo She is so friendly and made our first time here so great! The food was Incredible and for a cappuccino lover, best cappuccino I’ve had in the GTA 😍 Thanks so much! Will defiantly be back !
Came here for lunch after a team meeting. Ordered the lunch special margarita and a salad. Portion size is very good. The kale salad was good, could use more flavours but the plating was very appetizing and appealing. The pizza is 10” versus 12” for the regular size. I love margarita pizza but this one fell short compared to my all time favourite from QMP, the flavours just aren’t as strong, it felt underwhelming. Server was great and atmosphere is welcoming and the restaurant is organized and clean. Would recommend this restaurant if Italian is what you are craving and you don’t want to break the bank.
My wife and I chose this restaurant for lunch, and I'm really happy with this choice. The employees are very polite and experienced. The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent and lovely, both in terms of interior design and the relaxed vibe created by the soft music. We ordered the Diavola Pizza with Arugula Salad. The taste and quality of the food were excellent, especially the tomato sauce on the pizza, which transported us to the pizzerias in Rome. The salad was also unique, with carefully selected ingredients. And finally, the tiramisu with Americano coffee—you must definitely try the tiramisu. Its taste and size will surprise you. I will definitely come here again and recommend it to all my friends.
Nothing was outstanding. Food disappointed me so much. Pizza crust wasn t crunchy nor airy. Not sure if the oven guy was using the wood oven right. Pizza was below our expectation. They need to take down the sign Neapolitan style . Italians must be embarrassed. Gnocchi and pasta both were questionable Gnocchi didn t have much potato flavour but more of the flour only ..
Best pizza place in the area, very professional and polite staff, Vincent recommendation was great
Very cold. Door opens and no matter where you are its cold.
Love this place! Been a few times now. I ordered through uber today for the first time since they have a buy one get one marinara special. Score. I added cheese and mushrooms (since marinaras dont come with cheese, PSYCH) and they were delicious! Perfectly cooked and that sauce is bomb. Will definitely order again!
Food is good, same recipe as the rest of the chain. Very much improved over the years
unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The pizza tasted mostly of plain dough with very little flavor, and I expected more from the dish. Additionally, our server brought the bill without asking if we wanted anything else.It felt rushed, as if we were being encouraged to leave as soon as possible. From the moment we walked in, the service felt inattentive, and I left feeling unsatisfied. I d recommend paying a bit more attention to customer experience and the flavors of the food.
I ordered delivery via Uber eats. It s good dough, good sauce but the pizza was the size of my hand? For over 20 dollars a pizza, the price doesn t match the size. I also got the pasta but it s nothing to scream about, just plain pasta with plain tomato sauce.
The Restaurant is spacious, clam and decorated well. Pizza is amazing as well as arugula salad! Service is exceptional!
I came here with my sister, I ordered the pizza and she ordered pasta and it was absolutely amazing. Food and service was great! Such an underrated restaurant, will definitely be back!
Great lunch deal! Samara (I hope I got the name correctly) our server was amazing Thank you Food
Gnocchi and la vampa cocktail were tasty and well made, looking forward to coming back and try out their pizzas and other items.
Crispy thin crust was amazing! We had three different pizzas and we couldn t choose a favourite
Ordered on Uber today. Got the Margherita pizza special. Margherita is supposed to have 2 types of cheese on it. These pizzas had NO cheese on them. Picture attached. I scraped a bit of a slice to show that it was just tomato sauce and dough with some basil and garlic. How do you not put cheese on pizza?
The family loves going to Libretto.
Food and atmosphere were great! The service by Samara was amazing. Definitely recommend it to anyone who loves pizza!
Samara was amazing went here for a late lunch early dinner, got the prosciutto and arugula pizza and it was amazing!!
I have eaten here several times and the food is always great! Highly recommend =) My favorite is bulgogi pizza.
Great ambience. Good pizzas . Food
Great pizza, we had large Genoa Salami with good flavours And special plus for Birra Peroni !
Dinner experience was amazing! Our server Narumi was so kind!
Delicious food, excellent selection of wine and desserts. Samara was knowledgeable, friendly and gave great recommendations for the meal.
The lunch combo comes with Margherita pizza and salad for $19. The pizza is authentic, baked in a stone oven, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing. Im very satisfied with the quality and price. What I would like to see improved in the future is that I would be happy if I could choose combo pizza.
Good margarita pizza with a two for one deal on Uber Eats. Would definitely order again and recommend this restaurant
Pizza s and calamari were delicious. The ricotta lemon didn t have any lemon flavour.. but was still tasty.
I am so excited to have eaten at Pizzeria Libretto tonight. New delicious items on the menu I tried and the quality of their food, their exemplary service and attentiveness is incredibly professional. I love this restaurant and highly recommend!
pizza good. our server Bruna so awesome
Samara was a fantastic server!
We like the foods service and atmosphere. My friends and I will come again. Thanks.
I highly recommend getting the pizzas there. We went with a couple of our friends and each ended up getting a different pie so that we could trade our slices. The Funghi was my top fave. The eggplant tasted a bit spicy but still very delicious. The Lemon Ricotta tasted refreshing. Diavola was saucy and had a kick to it. Overall, I loved how I didnt feel gross after eating a whole pizza to myself. Vegetarian options: Highly recommend the The Funghi
Food was delicious and fresh; service was excellent very good experience
Bruna was lovely! Great service. Pizza and entire meal was super. Best pizza dough. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pizza was outstanding!
Samara s service is always incredible! Checking up on us to make sure we were taken care of, prompt service and a genuinely kind attitude keeps me coming back! Vegetarian options: Lots of options! Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating
Went to the North York location on Jul. 1, 2024. Had a pizza and wine, which was very good. The server, Bruna, completed a totally great experience. Will go back again.
Incredible and delicious place. The food was so good, couple of nice cocktails served with the pizzas and the amazing attention gave us by Bruna. Will be there again. Recommended!!
Got takeout gluten free vegan pizza. Was super good! Dough could use a little salt but the ingredients were so fresh and the vegan cheese was BOMB Dietary restrictions: Gluten and dairy
I had high hopes before coming here but the pizza we got tasted mediocre. There were spots with a big lump of red sauce and spots so dry without any sauce at all. The service was also slow - quite hard to flag someone down.
Excellent neopolitan and new York style pizzas. The tomato base is on the sweeter side. Their green goddess dipping sauce is very good. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vege options Dietary restrictions: Vege options Parking: Have to park on the street, paid parking
The food was fantastic. Service was also pretty quick. Definitely recommend.
Burrata had nice plating and a unique pairing with their pizza points -- unsauced slices to top with the cheese. Pizza was okay, a bit salty and the middle was too wet to hold its weight. Could be better for the price point now that there are restaurant-made frozen pizzas of this style.
We were in the area for a dance recital and stopped by for lunch. We ordered the new york cheese 16 to share with 4 people. We all had 2 slices each. The pizza was great and we demolished it. Ate half before I forgot to take a picture. Will definitely drop by again or a chain of we pass by if we need a quick bite. There were plenty of seats. The service was quick and fast. The waitress was pleasant and very helpful with our order. Its quite loud in here and great place to hang out and wait. The decor was nice and very kid friendly. There is a kids menu with coloring and crayons. Theres also outdoor seating worth umbrellas.
Decent pizzas and good value. Not bad Gnocchi is quite light Food : 3/5
The pizzas are delicious, the service is attentive and helpful, the atmosphere is good, the prices are fair. We went a few times and will be back.
The food tasted like fast food and the service was okay. Very overpriced for what you get.
**Review for Samara** We had an absolutely delightful experience thanks to Samara. Her exceptional service truly made our night unforgettable. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Although the pizza was fantastic, it was Samaras outstanding service that will keep us coming back. She is a gem, and we cant wait for our next visit!
just wow
Great time on father s day. !! Amazing service and best pizza !! Favourite patio. Dog friendly!!!! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free !pizza. !!! Thank you.
Ordered through Uber Eats. No photo of the menus. Overpriced for a small portion. Very high prices.
Great place to eat! Menu is well populated and priced very good as well. Staff are friendly, and were very helpful with my allergies. Food is great too!
Had a goat cheese and beet salad that was phenomenal and pizza was delicious, beautiful crust. Recommend their lunch special if it remains an option, included salad and a Marg pizza. I ve had some incredible pizza in my day and therefore can t claim this wins top prize, but at time of writing reviews were sitting at 4.0 stars and should be ranked higher. Pizza Libretto North York definitely gets my upvote.
Wonderful food, atmosphere and service from Samara. I love wood oven pizza and these were superb!! We ll be back. Vegetarian options: Excellent veg choice Dietary restrictions: Able to cater for nut allergies
A nice spacious, clean and bright restaurant. The pizza and wine were excellent. The service impeccable. Highly recommended if you re in the area.
Kid-friendliness: They were very friendly to my son and gave him a special white sauce pasta just for him Food
We are sitting here at the restaurant. We often take out or eat at this location. Today is my birthday and my husband, my son and me came in to have a good time. The person in charge is absolutely rude. She gave us a look as we entered. Sighed when we said we want sit at the corner booth. (The store is empty at this time) and rolled her eyes many times when we ordered or asked for water. We told her that her attitude is not right and if she is very tired. She said no i am good and you can leave if you wish!!!!! I am shocked. This is all the first 5 minutes got in. And she ruined our day. Such a shame for a nice place like Liberto.
A great menu, yet reasonably priced. The best pizza I had in years! Service here is polite and prompt. Vincent took good care of us!
Pizza was very oily and greasy. Excellent server, but lousy pizza.
Hawaiian ny style
Overall not bad. Pizzas were good but a bit slow getting it. The highlight was the chili oil.
Great spot for an off-the-cuff sit down. Great service, nice, friendly atmosphere and easy access. I found the pizza a little buttery but its a personal taste thing, the family loved it. Otherwise the food was excellent and the service was top drawer.
Kelsey at Pizzeria Liberto is a gem! Her friendly service and expert recommendations made our dining experience delightful. From her warm welcome to her attentive care throughout the meal, Kelseys dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction shines through. Me and my friends will definitely be returning for more of her top-notch service and, of course, the delicious food at Pizzeria Libretto!
Pizza was honestly my least favourite part of this meal . The arancini and gnocchi were amazing! Would return but would not order the za again
Really good flavors, very limited options.
Elijah and Kaylee were a delight!
We recently visited this restaurant and tried their pizzas, pasta, and wine. While the pizzas were exceptional, some improvements could be made with the pasta dishes. The servers were kind and friendly, always eager to assist in any way they could. Overall, we had a good experience dining here and appreciated the warm service. I d recommend it for anyone in the mood for great pizza and a welcoming atmosphere.
This place serves delicious pizza, similar to what I had in Milano, Italy. The crust was amazing. The centre of the pizza was soft. The service here was wonderful too. Such lovely and accommodating staff. We had the Kale salad, Arugula salad, Margherita pizza, and Braised Beef Rigatoni. All great choices but when I go back, Ill just get the Kale salad and pizza, my top picks.
The food is always great! They have fun specials and add new items often and the staff are friendly.
The pizza we got was new York style pepperoni pizza...so one would expect cheesy, greasy pizza..but what we got was dry, crusty, burnt. Pizza Pizza has better pizza. The server was amazing and very kind.
yummy
We got the calamari and nduja sausage pizza which were both wonderful! I loved the crisp of the calamari and the sauce that came with was The pizza was good! I love wood fire oven pizza! Overall: 4/5
We really, really enjoyed this. The Neapolitan pizzas were a great size, perfectly cooked, great tasting sauce, and wonderful flavours. I had the Diavola, which had a great combination of spice and meatiness. The kids enjoyed their margheritas, toppling their previous favourites. Only minor comments was the cheese plate, which while good, seemed pricey for how much you got, but the seasoned pizza bread was delightful. Previous reviews seemed iffy on the service, but it seemed like everyone was pitching in and we were happy, maybe they are taking that to heart. Kid-friendliness: They do provide a kids menu with appropriately sized dishes and an included ice cream.
Pizza was oily and soggy, save money and go to Blaze pizza or Pizzaiolo down the street
Pizzaaaaaaa. Had the New York style pizza. Lemon Cacio e pepe and pepperoni. Love the cacio e pepe one!!! Peperoni was good but nothing too special. Rapini also good. Had a nice spice to it. Good service.
Amazing pizza. Amazing ambiance. Love love love! (Pricey) Parking: Underground next door ... Cafe Landwer, the Keg, office buildings. Share a huge lot. Underground. Food : 5/5 |
the food was not as good as it looked, the pizza lacked cheese and was not that flavorful
We hosted our wedding dinner celebration at Pizzeria Libretto and it was the best experience. Harshil was so, so accommodating throughout the entire process from start to finish. The staff were wonderful to work with on the evening of our event. The space was set out perfectly for our group of 50 people, the portion sizes were massive, and the timing between courses was perfect. Our guests raved about the food, the drinks, the service, the atmosphere, and the dessert. Pizzeria Libretto has been a staple throughout our relationship and we were so glad when the North York location opened. It was a fantastic space to host a dinner that was fun, personal, and delicious. Would recommend over and over again!
Went there with a friend. Both of us got diarrhea from yesterday and today. The place was empty yesterday maybe the toppings were staying over the shelf-life hours. Could also be the tap water?
the american styled hot genoa pizza was some of the best pizza i ve ever had in canada. i think the rating is a 3.8 because of the service but the food was phenomenal and worth every penny. also portions are large which makes it so worth. definitely recommend
Great food and loved the service. Will definitely be coming back
Loved this place
I have tried the King Street location many years ago. I recently saw this location in North York and had to try it. The pizza is quite good! Even the calamari apps were great. I do like the ambience of this place, great place for a meal. A touch on the pricey side.
Excelent authentic italian pizza, tiramisu and Aperol spritz . Also the service is on spot with people that not working on minimum wage and know what they are serving.
Delicious pizza!
Really tasty juicy & cheesy Hawaiian pizza on thin crust. Clean space & lots of seating, doesn t feel too crowded or busy. Food comes out quick & waiters are nice. Parking: Paid street parking
We recently hosted a family lunch at Pizzeria Libretto North York (5000 Yonge St.) From the very outset, dealing with assistant manager, Harshil, was pleasant and easy. The private seating area towards the rear of the restaurant accommodated our party of 32 people comfortably and gave the gathering an intimate feel. The two pricing options for group dining (set menus priced per person, recommended for groups over 12 people) provided ample food for a decent price. There is a minimum spend, depending on the size of your party, which is standard protocol with most restaurant group bookings these days. The slightly higher priced set menu offers appetizers (charcuterie) which was a nice touch to start off our meal. From the PL menu, we were able to pull together a nice variety of options to satisfy everyones preferences. The staff was attentive in responding to our needs, adding wine, coffee and other beverages on request, and flexible - even accommodating a last minute guest on short notice. Everyone was impressed with the food, and the pacing between courses was good, not rushed. Our servers, Kelsey and Gabrielle, were courteous and efficient, and our guests felt well taken care of. Pizza Libretto is a welcome addition to our Willowdale neighbourhood, and a great option to consider for hosting a group event. Thank you, Harshil and team, for a very enjoyable experience!
So I have some seriously mixed thoughts about this place. We ordered two pies and one of them came out really great while the other left a lot to be desired. The New York style Hawaiian pizza was really tasty and the crust well cooked evenly. However, the Nduja Napoletana pizza came out with puddles of grease which made the crust soggy, especially in the middle of the pie. So maybe stay away from that one. Side note. The bathroom is bumpin . Go check it out.
Our experience was beyond amazing! Melanies extraordinary charm, unparalleled attentiveness, and flexibility made it unforgettable. The rest of the staff was also very attentive. The pizza? Pure perfection, surpassing all expectations!
3.2 /10 pizza is MID
I had a good experience as food is good, wine was good, place is nice and I felt comfy, the waitress was very nice and friendly, had a great time, highly recommended
Pizza was delicious, arrived cold, the manager came to our table, we advised him the pizza is cold. He was defensive, felt the tray & said its hot, which it wasnt. He went on to say its straight from the oven. We ate the cold pizza. The place is messy employees back packs on bar stools, laundered towels. Pizza boxes on the floor, facing the custometd REST rooms were filthy, one WAS FULL OF GARBAGR BAGS one was out of order, the doors dont lock. Srving plates are sprayed with Vinegar & Water from a spray bottle & wiped down with a cloth all right in front of the customers . We enjoyed the Pizza. Lots of improvements needed.
Todays pizza (mushroom pizza), meatballs, and salad were all delicious. Although it says pizza in the name, it feels like an Italian restaurant rather than fast food like Pizza Hut. It was a good place to go with my son who is in elementary school, and there were tables for families with younger children to eat. Judging from the fact that there were many people of all ages and genders who seemed to be locals, it seemed like a popular restaurant in the area.
One of the best wood oven Neopolitan style pizza spots in the city!
The place that I planned to go to was full so I went here. Best prosciutto sandwich, arugula salad and nduja pizza. Didnt regret coming here unplanned. Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Pizza was good but not the best. The winner for us was the nduja - definitely the most flavourful. As others have mentioned, calamari was also delightful and would recommend! Duck confit pizza and fried gnocchi was alright.
Authentic Italian-style pizza. Nice interior and atmosphere. The service was a bit inattentive but probably due to the location being newly opened. A great addition to North Yorks Yonge strip. Kid-friendliness: High chairs available. No kids menu but kids can eat slices of an adult pizza.
Highly recommended for Pasta and Tiramisu.
Good food. Painfully slow service.
Pretty disappointed with the portion of the calamari, it seems to have shrunk in size over the years or maybe it s just this location. The Nduja pizza was perfectly cooked but the flavour was quite lacking. Have had better elsewhere. The ambience and dining space was great and the neon signs are a nice touch. Service was quick. The washrooms are very dimly lit, ideally would like more brightness when using the washroom.
Our First time at this location was a pleasant visit. Food was tasty and affordable. Great weekday specials where attractive and enticing to try. All good. Servers need better training! There not very attentive as our dirty plates say in front of us longer than liked, especially when server approached us two times with out taking them. Had to ask for water two times and still server forgot. Overall a little bit of training for your staff goes a long way.
I have been a huge fan of Pizza Libretto for years. I spent the most time at the Ossington location and even though it never took reservations before, it was always worth the wait. This location is not up to par. The food was good but the service was pretty terrible. I will not be returning.
New place opened in North York area. After seeing their adds all over the place, decided to give them a try. Ordered Calamari from the appetizer menu and Fungi Pizza for main. Calamari was served in some homemade sauce or maybe a mix of couple of pre-mades which made the Cala soggy and I didn t enjoy it much. They could have used fresh herbs and spices instead or atleast served the sauce on the side. Well you might like it but it took the crispness out and wasnt my type of dish. Pizza s dough was fresh but out of the oven a min or two early. Could have been a bit crispier. Again that s the way I like it and maybe you don t. Pizza tasted a bit plain even with the crushed chili pepper I added to it Enough said! Rest for you to try
Best pizza Ive had in Toronto, and so far the closest to an authentic Neapolitan pizza Ive had.
As a single diner on business trip, I really enjoyed this place for the food and service and comfort to do some work in a vibrant space.
Not our first time going to Libretto but our first time trying this location. It didn t disappoint. Paid parking was very close, restaurant was clean, our server Niki was very friendly and knowledgeable and the pizza was delicious and fresh! Will be back to this location.
I had ordered the lunch special which comes with a caprese salad and your choice of 10 pizza or sandwich. The caprese salad was unique with beets instead of tomatoes. I didnt mind the creativity but wouldve preferred a traditional one. The pizza I got was the margherita pizza. Simple and delicious. The dough is as you would expect from a proper wood fired oven (although this one is operated by gas). Overall a good experience and would not mind returning to.
We went for dinner and had the Duck Confit pizza and Margherita Con Prosciutto & Arugula pizza. Both were good, but I felt like the pizzas could ve been a little hotter. Otherwise, our server was friendly and introduced us to the history of the restaurant. Found it interesting that Pizzeria Libretto is one of the first restaurants to serve VPN certified pizza!
This pizza is SO good. I make a point to go here anytime I can and compare most pizza against libretto. Do yourself a favour and go! It s pricey that is the only negative.
Great people!
Diavola pizza, classic Margarita Pizza and the meatball starter were our choices. All excellent. Panos was an awesome server. Overall a great experience
Besides the tasty pizzas you can taste here, do not muss the Tiramisu. It is a must try
I was excited to try it here, but the food was not as good as the downtown locations.
The most memorable taste of pizza in Toronto. I like it and highly recommend
We went there for the dinner. The rice balls tasted like freezer and they charged us for the parmesan cheese at an Italian restaurant (which is usually free)! The servers were nice and pizza was decent, but definitely not worth the price $ I d say the quality is a lot lower than expectations but the atmosphere looks nice. Food
The Pizza was great, really delicious!. The beer was less than desirable. The Pilsner honestly tasted like it had purfume in it. Bring back cold crisp Italian Peroni on tap instead of local trendy craft beer OR pick a better one. Very simple
We went for lunch today and it was really nice. Having frequented the downtown location we were excited that one opened up in north York. The pizza was really good and the service was great. The lemon cheesecake was also really yummy. It was pretty quiet since its a weekday. The server was accommodating with our baby and offered to bag up some leftovers when she saw how much our child enjoyed nibbling on the crusts. Hope to come back soon.
We have been going to Libretto now for some years. We have never been disappointed. Salads are great, and the pizzas are very good and prices are fair. I highly reccomend it.
If ur going here get the pizza not the pastas. Its bland and nasty. The sauce makes more like a cereal than pasta. Pizzas not so much Italian but still good.
Their calamari are definitely a must get as it comes with this delicious romesco sauce that elevates the dish to another level above your usual calamari appetizers. Their pizza in general are pretty good for the Neapolitan style and did like the pepperoni the best.
Good ambience and food.
My son is a Pizza and Gnocchi lover. We visited Pizzeria Libertto for the first time. The decoration and atmosphere was great and service was really quick. Margherita Pizza was so good and my son loved it. Creamy Gnocchi was a little bit cold and tasteless! Its worth a try.
Pizzeria Libretto Yonge is quite modern, open and airy in feel relative to their original Danforth location. But their pizza is still thin crust greatness, and their appetizer, dessert and cocktail were all perfectly made and thoroughly enjoyable. Street parking is usually busy around here but there are parking lots short walks away. Great vibe and energy from the mixed clientele. Enjoy!
The pizza was soggy and falling apart, but the service was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was simply beautiful. Maybe get a sandwich here and truly enjoy it. Id recommend this place despite my personal experience.
The food was great! The Italian-style pizzas and apps were delicious. The service was good when we arrived, but then the restaurant got too busy and our server never returned...
Food is good, but it takes 80 min to have the pizza ready , they need more staff and better attitude
Amazing food and great service
Libretto is my favorite consistent pizza place in Toronto. The one downtown has been the host of many work and casual dinners for me. I was so excited to see that they were opening one near my home in North York, so I wouldnt have to go to work just to get a slice. The North York location has a different ambiance than the downtown one. First off, the space is HUGE - this might be why some of the reviews and myself feel like the service is a bit lacking at times. The place was not packed for Sunday lunch, but it seemed like all the tables were spread out and worked by the same wait-staff. I totally understand them not seeing a wave from across the room, but it was a bit of an odd seating arrangement. The waiter was useful otherwise with suggesting something to order. In terms of the food, it was good. My partner and I both got the $19 lunch special, which came with a starter salad and a choice of pizza/sandwich. My boyfriend got the Margherita Pizza and I got the meatball sandwich. We liked our starter salads, but I didnt think it was anything special. I LOVED my meatball sandwich. The taste and bread was amazing. The only problem was it was sooo tall that I could not take a single full bite from it. I had to split it into top and bottom and still unhinge my jaw just to enjoy it. My boyfriends pizza was good. I would definitely get their sandwiches again. I dont know if I would recommend the pizza special, as their regular menus have more interesting topping offerings and are a larger size as well. I would recommend this location, but hopefully it gets busier so the vibes improve too.
Went for a Mother s Day lunch. The pizzas were huge in size and absolutely delicious. Really flavoursome. Perfect crush, generous toppings. Just soooo good. Had the Calamari and Bresiola for starters. Really really enjoyed the ambiance. The service was excellent as well. Great value for money. Really great
This was our second time trying a pizza libretto establishment and we will not be coming back. The pizza was incredibly thin and soggy, they only offered two types of pasta, and the price was not very good as a 12 pizza that was incredibly thin was $20. The service was good by our server, but the manager was too busy talking among staff to seat us when we arrived. The atmosphere was good, altogether clean and efficient, but the food is not great and is extremely overpriced for what you get. Vegetarian options: Any substitutions made you will be charged for. We had previously gotten the impossible pizza and ask for regular cheese instead of vegan cheese (due to an allergy with vegan cheeses, but still being vegetarian) and they charged us $3 without letting us know which made no sense as vegan cheese is more expensive.
Truly authentic Neapolitan pizza- we ordered the bufalina Margherita pizza, diavola, and homemade sausage pizza (my personal favorite) as well as the rigatoni mezzi and gnocchi pasta both with sugo tomato sauce. The pizzas were all great, on the pricier side but you are paying for high quality ingredients. The pasta were just okay, nothing special and quite small for the portion(we ordered the larger portion in the pictures). The cookie and tiramisu for dessert were also just okay, the cookie was more hard like a biscuit.
The pizza was great! I was able to leave the parmigiana off my pizza and they made it perfect. The prices are a bit high for just a regular small pizza. The service is really slow.
Very good Italian style pizza! The homemade fresh tiramisu is a must-try. The family size serves 3 to 4 people (don t be ashamed if you want to eat it alone).
Well, I just learned how to NOT run a restaurant. No offense to the servers and hostess, they were polite, but they had no idea what they are doing. Just lack of all around awareness, which seems to stem from the manager and down. The manager just stood there, ignoring all the chaos that was unfolding. Restaurant was near empty when we arrived and we were seated in the worst seat possible. We changed that immediately. Then I ordered coke, then was served diet coke. Then our pizza order was wrong. In the meanwhile, the table beside us who were seated before us never got their food, complained to every single server and the servers just never came back to them lol. They just got their food as we were leaving. Also, as we were leaving we saw a couple leaving after being seated and ignored for 20min. The problem is that the restaurant was 1/4 full and had 3 servers, a manager and a full kitchen staff. I guess Im not so bad at Overcooked!
I have been to this place several times and they always make the experience unforgettable. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. This is one of my top favorite places for pizza in Canada! Ingredients are fresh, dough is thin and always perfectly baked. It is a place to enjoy the flavors, the welcoming atmosphere, the good music. I like the traditional Marguerita Pizza, the Prosciutto with Arugula pizza, and recently we tried the Gnocchi Gorgonzola - absolutely delicious. Price is very reasonable for the quality of food. I can t wait to come back!
Absolutely Delicious.
One of the best spot in Toronto for pizza. Must try it. Ingredients are fresh and flavourful. Love the tomato sauce it s sweet just the way it should be. One thing if I can say I wish bottom was more crispy.
Was so excited for the place and the food, however, the food was very disappointing. Some might like it, some might not- for us the flavour profile was quite salty for the basic margarita pizza. Service is decent but the South Asian manager with spectacles didn t even bother to accommodate after we politely suggested we didn t like the pizza. He was offended as if he baked the pizza himself, lol. Have tried better arancini as well at Bar Poet. Domino s would be better if you re looking for a weekend delicacy, sorry to say so! This is just a personal opinion.
Fun spot and great pizza and salads. Our server Ruth helped to make it a great experience.
Terrible experience. The pizza was extremely overpriced for what you get, and the service was absolutely unacceptable. I ordered a pizza without knowing what it looked like for my first time, and was given someone elses pizza at my table. Instead of apologizing and treating the customer with respect, they insisted I pay an extra amount and was charged for the incorrect pizza order. Please save your money and avoid going here as there are way better options especially in this area.
I recently had the misfortune of dining at this pizza spot, and I must say that the experience was utterly disappointing. From start to finish, the service I received was nothing short of unacceptable. First and foremost, upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with a complete lack of acknowledgement from the staff. It was as if I had walked into an abandoned establishment. After standing awkwardly for several minutes, I finally managed to grab the attention of a disinterested server who begrudgingly escorted me to a table. Once seated, the problems only worsened. It took an excruciatingly long time for someone to approach my table to take my order. The staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of the customers. It was evident that they lacked both urgency and basic customer service skills. When my order eventually arrived, it was clear that the kitchen staff shared the same apathetic attitude as the front-of-house team. The pizza was lukewarm and lacked any of the promised toppings. It appeared as if they had hastily thrown a few ingredients together without any regard for quality or presentation. As if the subpar food and indifferent service werent enough, the staffs dismissive attitude towards my concerns was the final straw. When I politely addressed the issues with my meal, the server showed no interest in rectifying the situation. Instead, they brushed off my complaint with a half-hearted apology and an empty promise to do better next time. What truly astounded me was the lack of management presence throughout the entire ordeal. It seemed as if there was no one in charge, or if there was, they were content with allowing this level of service to persist. It was a clear indication that customer satisfaction and maintaining a quality dining experience were not priorities for this establishment. I had hoped for a delicious and enjoyable meal at this spot, but unfortunately, what I encountered was a complete failure in providing even the most basic level of service. With countless other pizza options available in the area, I strongly advise potential diners to steer clear of this establishment unless they enjoy feeling unimportant and overlooked.
Ruth was amazing pepperoni suggestion was nice
Traveling thru North York Toronto and really enjoying the Italian thin crust pizzas. We had 4 different pizzas and they were all delicious! I d definitely stop in on my next trip to Toronto! :)
Visited the Yonge Street location for our daughters birthday. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable and casual. We were seated quickly at an ample and clean table, with comfortable chairs and plenty of space. Our server was congenial and attentive and helpful. Luckily, there was a special on Margarita pizza that evening and thats what three of us wanted to order, so it was a happy bonus. Libretto is known to have the best Neapolitan pizza in the GTA, and I must say, it is definitely up there. However, it is always hard to say who has the best as it is a matter of personal taste, as always. I will say that I have had authentic Neapolitan pizza all over the city, and even in Naples and other parts of Italy, and this is very much in that style. The crust is as light as I ever had. The pizza was almost weightless because of how light and airy the crust was. The sauce and cheese was fresh and clean, and the toppings on my Capricciosa were delicious. To top it off, we enjoyed one of the better Tiramisu desserts you will ever have. All in all, a well deserved reputation at a reasonable price.
Save your money and order from the mass market places. Taste was horrible.
This place isnt friendly if you plan on dining in by yourself. Aesthetically its very cute. However, it was awkward service throughout. The food was cold. And right after I paid they asked me to leave immediately. I was surprised considering I was only there for a total of 30 min. Wouldnt come back personally. Dont recommend.
A very nice restaurant. Very simple decoration but very charming. The staff were amazing specially Nikki who hosted our table. The drinks were great. Salad and dessert were perfect but the Pizza needs a little more work to be the best.
I can forgive slow service but how do you fail making pizza. It was so bland.
Really enjoyed 1/2 price wine Wednesday! The pizza was *fantastic*. We ordered 4 different 12s and a couple of focaccias with olives, and shared across a table of 6. Wheelchair accessibility: A ramp from the front door into the dining hall.
Better to say rip off pizzeria than say Libretto pizzeria We have ordered Housemade Sausage pizza and beet caprese Salad. Pizza was tastey 3.5 out of 5 and Salad was eh! a salad with 4 slice of cheese and 4 sliece of beet but you can barely find any arugula as veg in the plate. I have suggested manager they can reduce the slice of beet and cheese to 3 as this portion is for one person and increase the amount of arugula. We have requested a side sauce roasted garlic and parmegane cheese they charge us without showing menue or explaining the price! They have mentioned in bill add one dipping souse then one time they put 3.00 buck snd then they put 0.00 very confusing bill. Before bill we called manager. When we explained and give our suggestion as a neighbor who live in the area 11 years and we wanna give constructive comment he brought hand in front of my face and asked me let me explain Oh brother woth such aditude you cant make business in North York. As a willodale resident I personally did not appriciate this pizzeria next time I will spend my money in Landware which is next door! Bill is attached. We saw 4 diffrent person at our table because manager said our servant is busy with other table due to cost control. I dont think this business go somewhere with this management . Servant was pleasant and nice, welcomer and polite! Bill is attached.
Only reason this place gets two stars is because of our server. Calamari and kale salad had no taste. The pizza crust and burrata cheese was decent. The atmosphere is underwhelming and lots of fruit flies. I would not return to this location.
It took a while for me to find street parking. The Pizza was fresh and tasty. The interior of the restaurant was very nicely put together. I ve been to several other locations and the atmosphere was way better!
Loved the duck confit pizza. Wish the arugula salad was slightly bigger for the price.
The Funghi pizza was too salty and not creamy at all. The Arugula salad was a very small portion and was very average for the price. The lady that was helping us wasn t nice the service wasn t good at all
Some of the best pizza in town! Of course it will be a bit pricey for what youre getting, but the quality and taste are superb!
The food is okay, service is inconsistent between visits. Paisanos at 116 Willowdale Ave is still WAYYY better IMO in terms of food variety, quality, quantity, service, and atmosphere. I honestly cant recommend this place as a pizzeria with Paisanos this close by.
Went in for a Sunday lunch here with the fam. Liked their simple ambience and enjoyed the pizzas. Not exactly your everyday pizza place... But good, prompt and helpful service What we tried : 1. Calamari - crispy and tender, portion sufficient for two 2. Pizza diavola - did not disappoint! Spicy and full of meaty umami flavour 3. Pizza Duck confit- savoury meaty white pizza, loads of flavour... Those that love some spice may find this bland and dull.. But still tasted delicious The Bambini menu for kids had plain cheese 10 inch pizzas - cheese and margarita (we chose one each) with Gelato (choose between dairy free chocolate (chocolate lovers - try this one!) & vanilla) included as dessert For dessert, we had the tiramisu (airy, creamy and sufficiently enough for the family) and a coffee amaretto All in all... Great lunch, good food and well come again to try other pizzas on their menu. Vegetarian options: They do have two pizzas that are vegan, vegetarian and gf Dietary restrictions: They do have gluten free options mentioned on the menu Kid-friendliness: Clean toilets and they have a good but basic kids pizzas (cheese and margarita) on menu with Gelatos included. Basic color pages and crayons provided to keep kids busy as they wait.
Would not recommend better off going across the street and getting a pizza from Jack s. Very overpriced for 3 meatballs and a large pizza with no toppings!
Expected Italian taste - baked in a large open oven. Not quite the original true Italian taste, but a great option regardless Had lunch there a few times - very satisfying and healthy option !
I figured I would enjoy a nice meal on a summer evening at Libretto. Ive been to their other locations and its always been good. Unfortunately for me, the service at this location (North York) was sub par. I stepped up to the please wait to be seated sign and waited for a few minutes. No big deal. The bartender made eye contact with me, then she decided to walk away without saying anything or acknowledging me in any way. A minute later, a waitress walked in my vicinity and went to serve a table. She was busy, so I didnt have a problem with that. Shortly after, a different waiter walked by, didnt acknowledge me or say anything. Eventually, I walked out. Total time standing was maybe 5 minutes. I dont typically post negative reviews, but for three employees to see a customer waiting in the area marked please wait to be seated and act like Im invisible is not what Id call good service. Maybe the host/hostess was on break, but even a someone will be with your in a minute would have been fine. I would have been happy to wait 20 minutes if they were that busy (didnt seem to be), but again, treating me like Im invisible just doesnt sit right.
Went for the first time. The food was great and fresh. I liked the atmosphere. The service was also great and Melissa was so friendly and welcoming.
Great food and friendly staff. Spacious and neat lookin interior. Lots of parking at the front and there is also underground garage at the back.
Visibly lowered quality compared to other Libretto locations.
Excellent service by Melissa, she made our day! Pizza was delicious, totally recommended. Toppings should be increased, it has very little for this price! Food : 4/5
Our server was nice, the pizza was just alright but the 1 star is because of the supervisor who tried to charge me $2 for the smallest bit of Parmesan cheese. After spending over $40 on pizzas before tax youre going to try and charge me $2 for Parmesan cheese???!!! I can get a $10 pizza from pizza pizza and they give Parmesan cheese for free. Noppppe never coming back. Change your cheap ways.
I went here for my first time last month. I ordered the special of the week which was a truffle oil mushroom fancy pizza. I cant have gluten so I ordered the gluten free pizza for an extra couple dollars and this pizza was PHENOMENAL. My friend who is not gluten free tried it and was also blown away. Dietary restrictions: They have vegan cheese and gluten free options
The Gnocchi was way, way over boiled and too soft to be reasonable for 19$. It is already a small portion, so you cant get it wrong. Very disappointing. I make gnocchi and it shouldnt be too difficult to get it right. Come on. 19$ ffs. Vegetarian options: I dont know
Would I recommend? Maybe try it at least once Service the service was normal, nothing special, nothing bad. Washroom Washroom is fairly clean, except for the paper towel over flowing out of the basket. Otherwise toilet and sink are clean. Washroom is single person use which is a bonus for privacy. Ambiance I am personally not a very big fan of how close we are seated to other tables, and the table for two people is a bit small. Otherwise the restaurant looks nice. Food Taste Nudja Pizza (Good) the crust is not very tasty, but the rest of the pizza tastes good. Pizza is thin. the size is good enough to share between two people if you are not a big eater, maybe supplement with some small sides Niocchi Pasta (Good) I really liked this pasta, the portion is bit on the smaller side.
Classic but good dishes. (Rocco: Excellent nicoise salad, very tasty tiramisus and suitable for two ). Fair prices for the location. Decoration nothing more. Impeccable service! To discover during your visit to North York
Great place, great food, great ambiance. I visited this place yesterday and it was an amazing experience. food quality and service was outstanding. definitely going to visit again. Food
Went with the kids; very friendly staff and the food was good!
I would say it s on the pricier side for what you get. I ve come here a couple times and think the pizzas are generally undercooked (don t consistently get the char and sometimes soggy in the centre). I would recommend coming here at least once. I come back to satisfy Neapolitan pizza cravings or to have a nice vibe for hanging out with friends in this neighbourhood.
Food: I ordered the funghi pizza, which is the white base pizza with mushrooms. The pizza was incredible; creamy, flavourful, and the mushrooms were cut so thin and were very delicious. Service: The server were very sweet and helpful with their recommendations. They greeted us with a smile, and their energy was overall bubbly. Atmosphere: The place had many seats and tables. They were available for couples and for larger crowds. They had a coat hanger for customers.
Over priced , service is good ran into an inexperienced waitress and I just feel those portion and quality of food do not worth the money I spent. I would not go there again
It s a million times better than Boston Pizza!
Pizza is very basic and taste bad, tables full of scratches and dirty, napkins smells bad.. There is nothing special in this pizza at all., i dont recommend
It was alright... the ambiance feels fancy, and the servers are very friendly and accommodating... but the pizza we ordered? Meh.. maybe were expecting it with tons of meat. But yeah, couldve been better..
I had an amazing dining experience at Pizzeria Libretto, and it was made even better by our fantastic server, Shweta. She provided impeccable service throughout our meal, offering great recommendations and ensuring our table had everything we needed. The food was outstanding, with the pizzas being a definite highlight. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a memorable evening. I highly recommend Pizzeria Libretto and a special shoutout to Shweta for making our visit exceptional!
Ordered their Margherita Con Prosciutto and Gnocchi. Pizza was very chewy and Gnocchi was warm. I was hungry but the food still didn t taste good.
I had my daughters 13th birthday at the Yonge and Sheppard location. 21 kids. Elijah was their server and did an outstanding job. He kept it all organized and the food flowing. A shout out to Harshill who helped me organized the event. He kept saying to me dont worry about it and he was right! Thank you!
Its one of the finest dine in place to go. The food has an authentic Italian taste to go for. Espresso Gelato is a must try ice cream. I am surely going to dine in over and over again.
My opinion of this place is very mixed. There are no other Italian restaurants in the area so we come here when we want wood oven Neapolitan pizza and don t want to go south of the 401. The food and the drinks are actually pretty good, what s not good at this place is the service! When you walk in the door you are never greeted and often ignored. The servers often forget something or take forever to take your order or bring your food all at once and they just aren t friendly. Reading other reviews it seems like a common theme. The manager seems absolutely clueless and like he doesn t care. Considering this is a chain it doesn t compare to the other pizzeria Librettos in the city unfortunately. It may survive simply because it has no competition and because it often gets the overflow of guests who cannot get into cafe landwer next door. UPDATE November 12, 2023. Came back with some friends who had never been before. Was greeted promptly and very friendly fashion by manager. New offerings on menu since my last visit. Tried one of them : pizza alla Norma with eggplant and ricotta salata. Usually get the marinara so this was a nice alternative. Very good and will definitely recommend and order again. The manager came several times to check up on us and food came out very fast. Was offered complimentary coffee and biscotti to accompany it. Definitely impressed and improved service since our last visit. Hopefully this will continue so we receive similar service at future visits.
Ordered a pick up from UberEATS after seeing buy one get one free. When I pick the order up, they charged me for two.
This place used to be so clean and nice before. Now dirty sticky menus, kids screaming and running around and nobody cares. You come to enjoy the food not the screaming kids and dirty menus. Pizza was a bit cold. Server was nice and apologized for dirty menus. At the entrance stuff member even didnt say hi. The staff used to be better before as well. Very disappointed.
We have been to Librettos physical locations many times, but decided to order through Uber last night. Everything was outstanding! The NY Pepperoni and NY Cheese pizzas were cooked perfectly, and traveled very well! The calamari is so fresh and tender, with an amazing light crisp accompanied with a delightful sauce. I will say, the calamari is 19.99 and I did expect the portion to be a teensy bit larger. It barely satisfied the 2 of us, but like I said its outstanding calamari, and in the restaurant you generally get a nicer portion. Highly recommend
I have been several times and have always had a good experience. The pizza is delicious, not greasy. Also have tried the gnocchi and calamari which are delicious. Certainly no complaints on my behalf that is for sure.
Always great pizza (and the kale salad is delicious) but, more importantly, Melissa is such an amazing hostess. Always polite, attentive, and kind.
normally dont leave reviews but they deserved it, service and time of food arrival was speedy and super friendly and fun. meal was delicious, got the burrata and prosciutto with sundried tomatoes, the pear, arugula walnut and parm cheese salad, and the cheese board, all absolutely perfect mouth watering high quality stuff. prices are totally reasonable and the drinks were so tasty too. cannot complain about a single thing and will come back anytime
As foodies we don t often say incredible . This pizza/pasta gem was delish. In the heart of North York, just down from Lastman Square, the pizza is just right and the gnocchi was the perfect texture. The sauces are a perfect blend of creamy, cheesy, with herb accent. The desserts OMG. The Budino is a chocolaty decadent dream and the tiramisu is the best I ve had. This place is a top fave by far. #pizzarialibertto
A great spot for pizza and just hanging out The pizza was super delicious and I love the fact that the menu is not overloaded with different options The pizza itself was very well done. The crust had a nice chewy bite and the toppings were so fresh alongside the the tomato sauce made made from San Marzano tomatoes The one thing is that they are on the pricier side. Bit still super tasty! Did takeout, but the interior is super inviting and a great spot just to catch up with friends. A nice casual chic kinda vibe! Great job overall! Pizzeria Libretto in North York really cares about their customers - hardworking servers like Alexandra and Crystal are very mindful of the customer experience. Even when the restaurant is juggling the needs of larger parties and smaller tables, you feel youre being taken care of, and that your enjoyment of the meal is of utmost importance. Even afterward, when I lost my bus fare card and came back to the just-closed restaurant to see if it had fallen out of my pocket, I was welcomed back into the restaurant to search for it. There was such great concern expressed for my well-being, and getting me safely back home - I was offered bus fare and even given a bus fare card without any expectation of anything in return. A special thank-you to Alexandra, Crystal and Hershel for showing such kindness and consideration. How refreshing to find out that caring and compassion are still alive and well in this city. And all at the neighbourhood pizzeria!
Clean and airy atmosphere with tasty food. Right on Yonge st. With parking around the corner. Servers and staff were friendly and attentive. I was there with a large group. I would try it again on my own. Pizza was very good. Appetizers were very tasty as well.
Excellent food, excellent service! Highly recommended for a date night or a get together with friends. We got the Americana pizza with some gnocchi! They both tasted really good. Vegetarian options: A couple of vegetarian options including pizza, gnocchi and some salads
