6080 Yonge St, North York, ON M2M 3W6, Canada
Easygoing destination with a convivial ambiance & a menu of hearty Korean fare, plus beer.
Went here to try their Korean raw marinated crab…. And boy was I disappointed. Overpriced for bar food/ snacks. We spent $100 on 3 items (raw crab, chilli cheese fries, Korean pancake) and 2 cans of pop. Its super dark inside and I don’t think they have AC it was quite warm. They do have onsite parking available which was nice. Upon sitting we were given warm water to drink on a hot humid day.. Service was great, they were super friendly and attentive. We ordered the raw crab half soy sauce and half spicy. It was my first time trying it and I left feeling nauseous and sick from the food. The fries were mediocre, not worth $20. Pancakes I couldn’t even finish half of it. Definitely an experimental visit and got the marinated raw crab crossed off my foodie bucket list but I will not be back.
I went specifically to try out raw marinated crab, and it was a very pleasant first experience! Not fishy at all, flavours were very nice and balanced. Ambiance was a vibe, definitely a good spot for casual drinking with friends. Portions are a little bit small, but expected for bar-styled food and dining!
🍗🐂🦐🦀 Crossposted in IG Guess who tried beef tartareeeeee? Meeeeeeeee? Although to be honest the way it was made I wouldn't have been able to tell(I don't even know what to expect🤣 Those sauce was like hmmmmmm😘👌 (Still couldn't handle spicy tho🥲 Those marinated raw shrimps and crabs were an experience too; like why are they so delicious? I had a bit of problem with the crabs tho, thought I was gonna crack my teeth😆 It was a nice place to hang out w friends, fill your belly and drink if you like; the server was friendly, helpful, and patient with us-I had many questions on what to order hhhh😆) yeah definitely a nice find!
The food was amazing here. We went on a Tuesday and it was dead inside. Maybe on weekends it gets busier? The server was super friendly and attentive! The inside was spacious and clean! There is even a parking lot in the back which is great!!
Fun bar with a nice vibe. Food was really enjoyable, the cocktails were great and the staff were really kind. Only setbacks were they were out some flavors of soju and the seafood pancake was slightly underwhelming. The fried chicken, pork trotters with cheese and marinated pork jowl were easily my favorites. This bar is definitely a little more on the expensive side but in my opinion was worth the money. My friends all enjoyed themselves here!
I’ve been here a few times. Always had a good experience. Sometimes they give you free popcorn :) the patio is fun. Had green grape soju and kimchi pancakes and my friend had deliciously crispy dumplings. Ask for the hot sauce dip - it’s truly yummy.
Delicious food and friendly staffs! My personal favourites were bossam, jellyfish salad, beef tartare and garlic chicken! I don't normally drink but their drink menus sounds delicious! Will definitely visit again.
What a great hidden jam amidst the many restaurants on Yonge St! If you are looking for a place with very authentic Korean food that goes well with drinks, this is the place to be. There are two areas to this restaurant. The front part is where you can order dishes regular style, and a back part for Korean bbq with gill tables. There are some adventurous dishes, such as the beef tartare made with actual strips of beef (instead of minced), and raw marinated shrimp - both actually quite tasty if you are up to trying them. Really love the pork belly here as well. Definitely recommended! For more great eats, check out and follow me @instantonium on Instagram
Horrible spot. Mama was extremely cheap extemely greedy and quite ignorant...No business sense at all...No wonder they were ripping everyone off and providing nearly half the portion as they used to last couple of years...
The seats were really comfy for a group of people within 3to5, they don t have side dishes here, good for a weekend break with alcohols and Korean snacks. The food menu includes a lot, really recommend spicy raw shrimp, cold noodle, Korean sausage hot pot, poutine and steak tartare.
Love it.
The staff here are great and very accommodating. The food itself is quite good, however it seems to be priced a little high considering the portion sizes. Drink prices are pretty decent. The furniture isnt the most comfortable but the space overall is very cozy and enjoyable.
This place doesnt deserve even a single star. Its truly an embarrassing place that should disappear from Toronto. The waitresss behavior is so unpleasant and there is no spirit of service. I think theyre just trying to get the guts to close soon. Please take this seriously. Please consider closing the door. Please.
Most awful experience. Me and my gf ordered pork bone soup, seafood pan cake and pickled crab. Pork bone soup tastes like pork meat powder with water, and comes with nothing except soup and three pork bones. No spicy cabbage, no potato, literally nothing else. Seafood pan cake is full of green onions that makes you feel you are eating grass with fishy smell seafood. I barely eat raw seafood. No comment with pickled crab.
Very bad experience here, the shrimp tasted off and not fresh. the server even came to us and asked if the shrimp was fresh and said customers complained that day and we also said it was not fresh. she provided no resolution at all even after hearing the complaint. the crab was also too sweet
Where do I even begin. Well I got sent to Toronto on a business trip and I decided to come here to have kimchi because Edith loves the smell of my nether regions after a fresh plate. I was the only wheelchair bound white woman in the bar. So many asians, it gave me a flashback to the time I had to watch that god awful Vietnam war film. Well then these two arabs walked in and sat at the bar, and the owner (who is asian) said to them we dont allow sand people in this section. Go sit in the back. Then he came up to me and told me that he tips wheelchairs for fun, let me tell you I soiled my britches right there! The kimchi was top notch, and I had some good soju that I mixed with super viagra. Thats the only reason you get an extra star. Wheelchair accessibility: He discriminates plus sized wheelchair models like myself.
Service with a SMILE ;!!!
The music is little bit too loud, however the service is pretty nice, after I ask for quiet music, the waitress change the music imminently
Overall is great . Korean pub and food. Food are pretty good. Price is fair
The vibes here pair great with soju, beer, wine, alcohol etc. Best for friends gathering. Staffs are super friendly. Foods are great. IMO, the most outstanding dish is eel on a sizzling plate, it is super crunchy and delicious. Highly recommend Food
I have been a frequent at Anju.... This place is one of my favourite in the city/GTA.... and Im a Chef, myself, so I really vouch for this place. You must try the Spicy Stir Fry Squid. It is heavenly! The service is awesome. Must visit !
I like the place
Apparently, they are closing soon! Bring some cash and get 30%off before closing. Food were overly salted for me but, I like their side seatings. Good place for Koreans
If you saw a negative review from me earlier, that was posted for the wrong restaurant, my apologies. This place is great! Didnt try any of the food, but the drinks are good, the vibes are immaculate, the music is fire, and the service is excellent. Will definitely be going back to try their food out!
Great service and great good
The liquor soup is delicious
As the name suggests, the snacks are delicious haha. Stir-fried tripe, liquor soup, budae stew, and sweet potato fries are all delicious, and the servers are friendly!
Great value
We are brown and we felt very ignored and discriminated by the server who seem to only pay attention to customers whom share their ethnic background.... people who showed up about 15 min after us got their entrees before we got our appetizers... Never ever going back, beer was good though. Thumbs up for Molson canadian
What a great place :) Friendly place, lovely staff, fantastic food. Recommended for authentic korean style food
Amazing beer, amazing vibes! The garlic chicken does leave something more to be desired.
Great place hanging out w friends and having some nice drinks. Food was special. Great service of the staff who found my ring!!! Thanks
Their cold noodles are the best Ive had!
This place has kinda old Korean bar vibe if you know what Im talking about
Food tasted okay but the place is really really noisy, hardly hear my friends at the same table.
Cant be better. No 1 Korean venue in town
open late + the food and service was great.
i just go for the food
Anju was definitely worth the visit. I took a bunch of my non-Korean friends to Anju. Some of them were even new to Canada. Although we were a big group of twelve people, the server kindly and efficiently took us to the right seat where we could all sit together comfortably and amiably. As the Korean food guide of the night, I asked for the help from the server and she was ready to give us the best recommendations. With her help, we ordered some popular Korean classics such as Korean chicken, grilled intestines, beef tartare, gochujang pork belly, summer classic whelk noodle, assorted Korean Jeons, spicy rice cake (teokbokki), and more. All of the foods were extremely good. Among us, there was a Korean guy who recently came to Toronto from Korea and even he approved how good Anjus dishes were. The beautiful server lady really took care of us kindly and patiently that we could have a great time together. If you are looking for a good place to drink along with some delicious Korean classics, Anju is the place to be.
One of my favorite korean style bars near finch area owner is so nice, foods are good!!
Very Great and accommodating servers. Very cozy and I like the atmosphere of the place. The food wasn t my favourite Korean food but everything else was great here.
One of my fav Korean Bars in this area. The food are great and has varieties of drinks. It opens till 2am which makes it a great place hangout as 2nd round.
The owner is super friendly! Crowd was a little annoying but cant do much about that. Had 5 dishes an 4 of them were great! One was on the avg side. Will go back 4 sure!
Good for drinks and food with groups
Mediocre food and service
Food was amazing, we were seated on their covered patio and it was great. Service was on point (the tables had the buttons to call over our server) and responsive. Soju selection was good as well. The entire group had a great time and will be returning.
Server is super polite. Their food is good. They serve alcohol. AC patio is very nice
Service and food were amazing. We had their green onion boneless chicken, pork dumplings, tteokbokki, chilli cheese fries and in-house made yogurt soju, all being delicious and complimented each other. Will be back soon!
brilliant
These guys have lost themselves to the good post-covid market. They forcefully asked us for tips, eventhough we gave them some and the server told us that we have got to give them more. So sad. This place used to be our go-to drinking spot, but congrats youve lost us and our business. Not suggested, youll get punked by the male young server.
It was so delicious. Best place to have team meeting or casual encounter
This place is perfect for chilling with friends. Servers are kind, freshly cooked foods are really good too.
Overall nice vibes and food! Maybe it was because we ordered the wrong things (beef tartar, Chilli fries, calamari and spicy cold noodles) but everything was OK and nothing too special. I think if we came at a later time during the evening for snacks + drinks it would have been a better experience. One plus was that the staff were super friendly!
Food very good, The best playlist and great or amazing staff...
We had an old school gathering at North York, and I guarantee you this is the best venue in town.
Nice place to hang out, very chill vibes! However, its not really a place I would go to for the food. Got the boneless chicken and it was pretty salty (the dip is a spicy/salty one, so...not a great combination)! Also, the waiters never came to serve us more water :( Probably would only go here if all of the other bars are full.
BEST SERVICE ...GREAT FOOD...CHILL ATMOSPHERE...LATE NITE ...N BEAUTIFUL SERVERS....!!!
Love it!
Service is good
A modern and cozy Korean styled izakaya with friendly and quick service. Their beef tataki ( or sashimi) is a must try, it tastes very fresh and special, not like the one usually served in Korean restaurant. Hot sake has reasonable price, everything is good here, the vibe is right
why did I never try this place beforeeee vibes food drinks service reasonable price definitely coming back. food was good and spicy yakul soju we order some tequila shots and it was like not pricey at all we order a lot of foooood. wish I took more photo but I only have a video of the food but has my friend in it so i can t post the servers are so friendly!!! even the owner came by couples time and ask if everything is ok
The worst Korean food I ever tried. Taste really bad and very expensive. The soup taste really bad and priced $30. Fired garlic whole chicken is just come with garlic sauce on the side, the chicken is too salty and meat taste weird, so we remove the skin for our dog.
Our go to spot to relax and kick back for drinks and food. Ive been to many of the different bars from yonge and Sheppard to yonge and steeles and the vibe at anju is by far the best. Plenty of televisions to catch the game with kpop grooving in the back ground. Theres a great variety of bar foods to choose from like chicken wings and fries but they have also a large dinner menu as well with kalbee, pork bone soup, seafood options and many othet korean dishes. The crowd is quite diversified with a mix of young and older people which is nice to see. Lastly the service is top notch. Usually with young waitresses the service is subpar, but Jiyah and her crew always have an attentive eye and bounce from table to table quickly and efficiently even on the most busy nights.
Wayyyyy too expensive for what they give you. I went for a birthday party with a big group and every single person left feeling like they got ripped off. 8 pieces of short ribs should not cost $32+tax and tip. The taste was good, but not $32 good. I could ve had a decent steak and a side elsewhere for that price instead of a few pieces of ribs. They even charge an extra $3 for a small bowl of rice! They should at least include rice with the dish if they re gonna charge that much for their dishes. They also don t offer any Korean side dishes. The service wasn t great either. We asked for some utensils multiple times before they finally brought it out and they also forgot to serve one of the dishes that we ordered yet they still included it on the bill and we had to tell them to remove it because they never served it to us. I don t think anyone in the party would ever come back or recommend this place.
Food was very good! And the service was very good and I will come back! Love the atmosphere here! 5/5 stars! Parking: Lots of parking!
Amazing place! Food is delicious, staff are really friendly and good vibes all around.
Nothing special. Went there for drinks with coworkers after a work dinner party. Received so much attitude from an employee after we preferred to sit in a semi-circle booth over an open table by the cold door.
Raw beef was so good!
The bar owner is providing customers with bad experience by constantly micromanaging her staff. She just walks around creeping and does nothing but just stares. I feel bad for her staff. Price is reasonable and most of the food is sub-par. The price of the drinks is definitely the driving force behind why this place is still up and running. Dec 7: got kicked out after trying to give this place a chance and the owner was apparently upset over my review. Proving yet again - that this owner micro manages her staff. Jia; who was bartending had to come and tell me vs the owner herself.
If you are looking for tasty Korean foods, here it is.
My fav Korean BBQ restaurant in North York region. Owner is so nice, staff are helpful and looks stunning lol. With the good quality food they serving all the time, the price is always reasonable!
The food is delicious Good size Especially chicken and soups are the best
Cute little bar in North York. Patio is very nice and the food is delicious. One of my favourites.
A little pricey but great experience.
I live downtown with my girlfriend. It was our first time here and we had raw beef and raw fish soup. It was so delicious. I think well visit again.
The patio was nice. Not crowded at all. No lines. Service was great. I had the beef bulgogi and pork belly. I preferred the beef more. Staff was friendly. Price was decent especially for a place right on Yonge.
Went to Anju yesterday. Looked nice. Put my name on the waiting list for a table and they just never called me back.
I think the snacks are delicious!! I can understand why the name of the store includes snacks. It was even better that the 2 meter distance between tables was kept :) I enjoyed it~
Waitress would completely ignore you when she has nothing to do. Stand at the entrance and had her walk by in front of us for 3 times not greeting us a table or anything
Patio is roomy and comfortable, the only downside is only a section of it is covered. Food is great and servers are friendly.
No way.
Food ingredients are not fresh and rude reactions.
Good place, there are always many people here. We had really good marinated beef and spicy pork belly.
The ham in the budae jjigae smells so bad that even the soup tastes strange. I ordered a $35 budae stew, ate ramen noodles and some spam, and left with just that much left. I don t think I ll ever visit Snacks while living here.
My friend and I went to this restaurant for the first time today and it was incredible! We ordered a couple things but the pork belly and spicy cold noodle were my favourite. We instantly got our sides and water. Our server s name was Jackson, he was super nice and accommodating. 10/10 recommend, we will be coming back here!
Great vibe, food and Makgulli. The patio is also nicely designed. Will return
One of my favorite korean anju bar... I meet the chef couple of times she is so friendly and keep checking the tables... She even offer us some on the house dishes..
good food
Good korean food place to hang. Might bring down a star if the prices go up again.
A really nice place to meet!
Great place for hangout with friends
Great vibes, food was was goo. They have a outdoor patio area. Would love to take my friends here drinking
Decent spot on yonge st. I really like their whole garlic fried chicken. That with a pitcher of beer really, reallyyyy hits the spot!
Nice place. Imen was good host. Definitely visit again. #Wallie
Upscale
Food is pretty good
A great place I always go to chill out at late hours, food is tasty 8/10, many options for alcohol price is average bar price. The green union fried chicken, hangover soup is very nice, but the service Ill give 6/10, short on staff and always busy and slow.
This bar is one of the best I have visited in the city. Its really well managed and owned by this really sweet Lady.... I say this because I work in the hospitality industry myself. The prices for the food offered are really reasonable. Whether its the Kimchi or Korean BBQ that you order, you will not be let down! Her staff are impeccable! The service here is amazing. The first time I visited, Yungtae was the Bartender/Server who left a lasting impression on me and I keep coming back ever since. The whole team, especially :Taeil, Yungtae, Miji, Soae and James (Manager) are formiddable who put their guests satisfaction before anything else ( which is what a service is all about). Definitely need to visit if you are North York and looking for place to grab drinks and not-feel-the-pinch-in-your-pocket!!!!!! this place!
Must order the marinated raw shrimps and crabs !!!!!!!
Verry nice place. Staff were really friendly. We were sit at the table. However, later waiter ask us to move from one table to another table, explained that they have rules about number people at each table. There were 4 of us, but we took table for 5 people . Is it weird? The bar was half empty....
Friendly, inexpensive, food with good ingredients and delicious.
Worst korean food.
Amazing beer, good food, great staff.
prices are god . cant complain
Very well done in social distancing patio. We loved it !!
Ive been here twice and each time was pleasant. First time I ordered a whole fried chicken which was one of the best. The second time was ordering fries and beer to go. The fries were one of the best of Ive ever had!
This is the first time that we come to this restaurant, but we ate a lot of korean restaurant. Unfortunately, this restaurant disappoints us a lot, the food was not very fresh which include the beef and the sea food. The restaurant needs a lot of improvement for the food quality, by the way the service is very pleasant.
Pretty sure this is due to covid, but their menu has been reduced and prices are ridiculous, $13 for 8 pieces of calamari? DNR
A place to be
Super tasty food considering it is more of a bar. Their house rice wine (makgeolli) is definitely recommended. My favourite food is the kimchi pork and the kimchi cheese pancake.
Miss this place as couldn t go there after pandemic. My friend s and I have been going here for over 7 years. Great service, great staff. Great prices. Highly recommended.
good service
Great food at a fair price. Good Korean bbq
Incredible food. Great service. Korean BBQ was delicious!
The food was good. But 1 thing is that I was about to giveing their tip, but before I leave I went to washroom and I heard about that they complaining about tips which they didnt get yet.
The atmosphere , service and food is fantastic!
Bad service
Really bad experience. Waitstaff were very rude and unhelpful. We each ordered a pound of wings but only got half a pound each (5 wings). Orders all came at sporatic times and one only came as we were paying. They then tried to make us pay for that meal... Ridiculous
The bbq was really delicious and service is nice too.
Sorry, i just hate bbq smell in a bar.
Their food & service is always good. They have many tables for a large group and very spacious. !! :)
great food and atmosphere! def recommend fried garlic chicken! :)
nice food!!!!
Buckwheat noodles are really delicious.
One of the Best Korean Restaurant! Fine taste, fresh draft beers and Best service! My wife and I ordered galbi, sul-guk and aguzzim. Heres my review. (Quality : 9 of 10. Quantity : 10 of 10. Atmosphere: 9 of 10. Taste : 10 of 10. Visual : 9 of 10. Hospitality / Service : 11 of 10 :) Overall, A +, Weve really satisfied and definitely will recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. Especially, Aguzzim is the best in town!
Sucks service
I would give a 5 star if their reservation systems work. We were trying to book a table or so for 7 people and the staffs saying they dont do reservation for under 7 people? You guys seriously with me? We were there last weekend and there is a table for reservation for 5 people and they tell us they dont do reservation if they do its 8 people or so.
A hip place for great soju and Korean food experience
Really Good korean bbq and banchans. service needs improvement though.
Fast, friendly service and fantastic wings! They have a great menu with a variety of tasty Korean items. This place is comfortable and welcoming. I will definitely come here again!
Nice place, with parking. Conveniently located near yonge and finch.
The food is good and the atmosphere is nice.
We went into this restaurant around 7 pm. After we ordered food, we didnt have water to drink for 10mins and no one even asked us until the first plate was served. I dont really like sweet food so their food is a little bit sweeter than others and the flavor of the kimchi soup is very strong as well, so we only finished half of it. Overall, the entire eating experience was okay, we paid $50 for 3 courses(Rice cake is $9, fried pork is $16 and soup is $15). PS: This is a Korean restaurant but they dont offer sides and they dont give free rice if you order soup, while other Korean restaurants do provide. If you really wanna try Korean food, you do have a lot of options.
Great experience!
Brings back memories of our Korea trip. Friendly service. The gejang was really good~ the soy marinate could use a bit more fruity flavor though. My favorite was the yuk hwoe. It was well executed with the beef still a bit icy and the marinate was just perfect. The pa duk was ok, the batter was a bit too thick. The taste was good though. I will definitely come back with my friends.
Always good food and drinks.
Gopchang hotpot is full of tripe and meat. It was so delicious that I was sweating. Truly the best restaurant among the best!!! Its a hidden restaurant.
Its a nutritious dumpling stew thats really filling. I had dumpling casserole for lunch, and it was so light and delicious that I keep thinking about it when I look at the picture. The soup seemed authentic.. I added udon noodles and it was so delicious! Soy sauce shrimp ~~ Highly recommended as a snack!
Decent place. Food was alright, although not very filling for the prices. The elderflower cocktail was meh. Sparkling rice wine was interesting and a novel thing for me
Nice food. Decent price.Servers English is not so good so we had kinda hard communication.
Not busy, food is great, great place for gathering. Other places it is so crowded and loud and annoying you wanna punch them in the head but seriously this place and location is good.
