Avoid this place: Disgusting food, rude and deceptive service! I just got back from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan recently so I wanted to show Uzbek food to him. Oh it was such a mistake to pick this location. Here is everything that disappointed us: 1. When we went there was only one table that was occupied but my friend and I were painted to the corner table where the wall decorations hit your face. 2. The server was pretty rude. 3. The food was disgusting - how can an Uzbek place make such a bad Plov. It was so sticky and mushy and devoid of taste. 4. Not only that we also ordered some Baursaki which was not great and then some Kebab which tastes really bad and dry. The whole Kebab dish had more fries and then anything worth eating. 5. We also got some Mantis which were disgusting too and came without any dips. 6. All the appetizers came after the main food and every dish came 30 mins after the previous one. So by the time the last dish came out our appetite was completely gone. We barely ate half of what we ordered. 7. We asked for water, so the server said we wanted Kampot instead and we said okay. The server never said that it was not free. So we kept refilling our glasses with Kampot instead of water not knowing we were being billed every time. That was very deceptive behavior. 8. Lastly the Google map said it opens at 12pm but they don't open till 1pm. Not sure if the hosts can be blamed for it but ruined the experience as we went there and had to wait around 30 mins. 9. One more thing: I could never imagine an Uzbek place to not have Lagman.
Restaurant is very hidden and quiet, located inside the GoodLife Fitness building. I had the Kutab with Meat and Cheburek ($6.99 each) to start. They were both good and crispy, I enjoyed the Cheburek more. I ordered the Beshbarmak ($18.99) which was interesting and yummy. My only one complaint is that the slices of beef were very dry, tough and bland.
I've had such high hopes for this restaurant but once I made the visit I realized it wasn't worth driving for an hour to get there. The food was OK. The soup was great but I'm not a soup guy. The pilav was below expectations as it tasted more like fried rice. The zatar bread was amazing. The host was extremely nice but he was the only one there and the food took forever to come. It looked as if they weren't expecting anyone to come. Owners need to pay more attention to this gem.
Chaihana peaked my interest as they specialize in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan food. The inside is spacious with an abundant of tables and banquet hall in the back. Service is slow and inattentive. - Lagman ($10.99) - reminded me of a tomato soup with depth. Noodles were passable. - Salmon shurpa ($10.99) - the dill really elevated the broth to the next level. - Pilaf ($16.99) - normally comes with clumps of roasted garlic. Osh was still satisfying. - Lamb shank with braised vegetables ($20.99) - vegetables and lamb jus was delicious. Lamb was tender and succulent. Potatoes would have completed the dish. - Siberian pelmeni ($9.99) - plump, good filling and a nice elasticity. - Lulya kebab ($19.99) - home style potatoes were light and crispy. Never were given the garden salad. Skewers were great. Would return to try more dishes. 4.5 stars.
The food served is amazing and the portions are decent. The best babaghanoush I've tried as of yet and the bread is a must have as it goes along so well with the babaghanoush. The plov is great as a meal of its own with decent amount of lamb. The chicken seemd like a brick chicken, but was still juicy. Every dish had a balance of it's own between light and heavy tasting. As we've not been here before, our server seemed to come off a bit unwelcoming at first but was pretty friendly after and provided recommendations to ensure we had an enjoyable meal.
This place is definitely underrated. I have knew this place since 2018 but have never given it a try. We went there Wednesday evening and there was no customer, thought they were collapsed but we still decided to give it a try. The food is just AMAZING, everything is fresh and well cooked. Can definitely see through the green onion chops and the salad that they prepared everything on site. The soup (both borsch and lagman) are authentic, and the portion is decent. If you're not very hungry a lagman (soup filled with vegetables, meat and noodles) and a bread (bigger than your face) will make you full. Those will not exceed $20 after tax. We also tried their pilaf, authentic and fresh. It is a bit oily and meaty so make sure your order their salad, which helps you enjoy the pilaf or anything meaty. Everything is between 4.5/5 - 5/5. Highly recommended. My friend told me 5 years ago that their horse meat sausage was awesome, but they don't have it anymore😥...
My friend is from Kazakstan and was looking for a place that serves the food she misses so much! This was the only place in the GTA we could find so we drove about 30 mins to pick-up. The menu is huge and there is a lot to choose from. The person who gave us our food was extremely kind, he even gave us some chocolates since it was around Valentine’s day. Food was really good, my friend said it tasted very authentic. Special shout-out to the Manty with pumpkin, the Baursaki, Lagman (was super hearty and flavourful) and the Borsh. We can’t wait to be able to go sit inside as it looks very pretty in there!
You can’t be cash only in this day and age. Had to leave to go find an ATM to get cash as I left the rest of my party at the table. Putting that aside, the food was delicious and I was happy I got to try Central Asian food in Toronto. The place has a beautiful design but the decor feels a bit dated and more Russian than Central Asian. Coming back to give the food another try but hope the POS is fixed this time!
Anybody who goes to this restaurant expects central Asian food, I have been in central Asia all my life. I have never seen or eaten this type of food in Central Asia. For The beef kabob and lamb kabob, I had to use a sharp knife over and over just to cut a piece. I had to chew for 10 minutes just to swallow it. The rice they served was smelly, disgusting and not eatable. I asked for tea, the water was not boiled, I got served simply just warm water. The only good meal was the Ukrainian soup. I recommend anyone in the Toronto area to please avoid this restaurant. Do not go. They charged me 190 dollars for a dinner meal when if I went to another restaurant it would be 80 dollars. I wanted to give a tip for the server but due to how disgusting the food was, I did not.
First time ever in a Uzbek restaurant and had a great experience. Traditional soup and Khachapuri was a great introduction to Uzbeki food. Too bad they had run out of Pilaf, another time may be.
Had an absolutely amazing experience. Went to celebrate a big anniversary. The food was exceptional, simply delicious. The staff was so nice and attentive to every single request. We even asked for something not planned before and they did everything to make it happen. When I asked who prepared all the meals, I was very surprised to find out that they all were cooked by just one woman. I asked to see her. Such a kind humble woman. Her name was Maria (Mano) Sorry, it was so loud there I didnt catch it properly. Its going to be out place to dine in when we are in Toronto, and I will definitely recommend it to everyone I know. Such a great variety of dishes, many yummy meat servings and lots of vegetarian and even vegan options. Kid-friendliness: We had 4 children in our big group and they had a great time, and loved food as well
Avoid this place, they are not even Uzbek Owners or workers or cooks.. they have no Idea what Uzbek Food look or taste like..I recently tried everything there and was awful,,, previous Owners were good at least some dish like samsa/Kababs were good .. but now its ridiculously bad
The best it just teste like the food in Tajikistan
Our first experience with the Central Asian food, very yummy Very courteous and friendly customer service too Ambiance was also very good
*As a Uzbek man, THIS IS NOT OUR UZBEK STYLE FOOD* We ordered Plov, samsa, and beef kebabs. - Plov is a traditional Uzbek dish, but what we were served is not plov. It is an Indian style version. Has lots of spice and only gave two small pieces of meat that was 70% bones. (To see traditional plov look up on google Uzbek Plov and compare it to photos on other reviews) - The samsa is basically Indian Somosa. Super soggy, definitely not fresh. Not good at all. - Beef kebabs were very chewy and only 8 small pieces for 30 dollars. And they were seasoned super spicy. Overall, this is not Uzbek food and it is disappointing to spend over $100 dollars and not get what is listed. Restaurant should label food as Indian infused. However, waitress was very nice and professional.
Low quality food at extremely high price.
Plov was very extremely bad, was mostly rice, just tiny bit of carrots and one small piece of old chewy meat. On top of that it was vey expensive.
Extremely poor quality of food, it was raw and dry. The portion were very less for the price. Will never recommend anyone
Parking: Enjoyed it very much Recommend it but pace yourself to enjoy everything
Been here with colleagues for lunch. The restaurant is located inside the mall, a bit tricky to find. You dont need to pay for parking if youre visiting this restaurant. Nice atmosphere, the restaurant was bit chilly but the food is Amazing, specially the freshly baked Uzbek bread and kachapuri. Although their service needs improvement.
Amazing ambience, food and very friendly service. First time tried this cuisine and in love with it. I will go again although it is pricy with somewhat smaller portion size.
Very good experience over all the Lagman soup was great, Khinkali was very good too.
Delicious, just like home! This is not the first time I have eaten here and every time it is pleasant to come to this restaurant. Kitchen, service, dishes at the highest level!
Service is really bad one waiter for whole restaurant.
Uzbek and Tajik cousine Food was nice but portions were small Service was good but only single person so it gets messy when more than two tables are busy Decoration and music makes you feel cozy and warm Place is clean and tables style makes you feel comfortable
Very rude Manager
I ordered pilov, the food was terrible and too oily with very little meat in not good condition. Plus, the service was awful as well. Last persons order was prepared 2 hours after the first one. So, it ruined the gathering.
I ordered beshbarmak and it was terrible. too oily, tasteless and the beef was so stif. barely I could chew. It had a soup that came with it but they didn t give me a spoon even after I reminded the server. The story doesn t finish here though. The cherry on the top was the fact that we were a party of 16 served by one slow server and despite the fact we all ordered at the same exact time, the foods came over a 2-hour span so you can imagine by the time some got their food, others had already finished theirs which was very disappointing. I would NOT recommend this restaurant at all!!!!!
I m so confused at these reviews. Understaffed, overcooked meat, cold served plov. How can you serve this and take peoples hard earned money? I m positive the food was made days ago and reheated the food in a microwave for 30 seconds.
We called few days in advance to book a table for 16. Boy! That was a HUGE mistake! Some got their food about 30 minutes after ordering to and the the rest got theirs about 2 hours later, and some are still waiting after 2.5 hours! The supervisor later explained that she wasn t informed about our booking in advance!!!!!! She also said that we had not ordered at the same time which was an absolute lie!!!!! Getting an honest apology would make the situation a bit better, but no! They couldn t even do that!
I cannot begin to express my disappointment with this restaurant. My group of 16 people had made a reservation several days in advance, hoping for a great dining experience. However, what we received was far from that. The food was nothing special, and the time difference between the first persons food and the last persons meal was unacceptable. It took over an hour and a half for the last person to receive their food. This situation was made worse by the fact that no one was willing to take responsibility for this catastrophic mistake. But what really pushed me over the edge was the pitiful compensation they offered us for our trouble: a mere 15% off. Seriously? That is hardly enough to make up for the frustration and disappointment we experienced. This restaurant is not suitable for groups. The average food, poor management, and terrible customer service only add to the overall negative experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I suggest avoiding it at all costs.
The food was greasy and of poor quality. They served very late. It is not worth paying for this restaurant
I have visited this place last week. Really enjoyed the food, authentic central asian dishes. Afterwards, I met the chef, Khoji had a good conversation with him. Very welcoming atmoshphere do recommend it!
The food is always delicious and the service is friendly and efficient. Definitely will be coming back and would recommend!
Come for all the good things from back home that you miss.
Decent place for central asian food (tajik, uzbek, etc). Aesthetic is very traditional with allegoric paintings, carpets, pillows, and even a traditional bed. The appetizers are great: baba ganoush, hummus, laffa bread, lepyoshka, cheburek, khinkali, salads, etc are all super tasty and fresh. The kebabs are also good, but make sure you allow for enough time as they take a while to prepare. Great place to hold large group parties - call a few days ahead to set the menu and negotiate the prices. However they do pre-cook some stuff ahead of time to manage service speed, with the downside of decreasing quality, so make sure to adjust your menu choices accordingly. They allow for byob, but new management is overcharging cork-fee, which is a major turn off.
Weve came here not for the first time (actually its been a while) knowing that this place has really good kebob, well this will be our last time. Service was so-so, too much of waiters sarcastic humour felt uncomfortable to me, then seemed like he was arrogant. Starters were great but overpriced kebob was a tasteless dried rubber and the funny thing is kebob was served without any sauce or adjika typically served everywhere else but here. Rice was very dry like its been sitting outside without covering.. home style potatoes was overcooked and dark. I was not planning to leave a review and didnt make any pictures of the dishes, but then again Ive evaluated everything while in the car after that Im not going back here again. Sorry
The Georgian Khinkali and the Lula Kebab were both really good! Highly recommend them both. Stay away from the pilaf though, it was pretty bad. The server was really nice and polite, but it seemed like she was the only one working in the whole restaurant.
Service was too slow, mistake in order and waitress insisted that the order was given wrong and late, rice was cold, they took it to put in microwave! The waitress kept changing her word to put the blame to the customer. Manager had to be involved to make the order. Overall, this was the worst restaurant that I have ever gone. I do not recommend this place at all.
They were very professional and had great food. There was a customer group beside us who were giving them a very hard time but they were very accommodating and still served them with a smile on their face and apologized many times.
I dislike this resturant. Food quality was very bad. The service was very bad
We were 7 people and ordered at 7:30. They gave the 6 order at 8:00 but my order was prepared at 8:45. It was the worst experience I had. I felt I wasted my time by coming to this restaurant. DO NOT waste your money and time to coming to this restaurant!
Authentic elegant charismatic atmosphere and environment. A monumental experience!!! Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendly staff!!!
Poor food quality, poor service
I ordered pasties... not very tasty... Its a pity.
My friends and I wanted to go some place that has Kazakh cuisine and this is the only restaurant in Toronto area that we could find. I was a little worried reading the reviews but we decided to give a try. I called to make a reservation then again to confirm but it seems they dont have any sort of booking system since they had no idea what I was asking about. In the end when we arrived they were not expected us but we were the only ones in the restaurant (7PM on a Saturday) so there were no issues with seating. There are signs all around the complex (mostly other businesses but kind of desolate area) that say you need a parking permit and after we paid were told by security it is not necessary - ignore the signs, parking is free. There seemed to be 2 employees working, the waitress and the cook. When we arrived neither were anywhere to be found and we had to go searching for someone since there was no bell to ring. Other than that the rest was fine. Food came out within 30 minutes of ordering and was great. I cant comment on authenticity but the dishes I remember having when I was in Kazakhstan tasted similar to the ones I ordered here. Decor is bright and vibrant and ambiance was good. Washrooms were among the most impressive things, super clean. Walked past the venue area inside, I think it would be a good place to host an event. Having someone who can speak Russian in your group will be really helpful if you go here. :) Id recommend giving this place a try, its a gem of a restaurant that is kind of hidden in the middle of nowhere. Parking: Lots of parking all around the building on a Saturday evening. Dont be fooled by the paystations and signs, we were told no payment is needed by the security (after paying of course). Anyways - save your money.
Delicious food! A very underrated place to get some delicious Uzbek, Central Asian, and Eastern European staples for a good price! The food is very well seasoned and fills you up very well! High recommend the Chicken kabob, babaganush, and tandoor bread!
Amazing restaurant! I wish location was better though for more people to be able to get acquanted with unique Central Asian cuisine! Loved the pilaf.
Extremely disappointed. Prices are relatively high and would normally be okay but they bring frozen perogies and pass it off as fresh. The borch literally tasted like hot water was added to cabbage. No taste at all whatsoever. The plov was clearly visibly old. The waitress was however very good. All in all, please do not come waste your money here as it is a restaurant that does not care about the food they serve!!!
Amazing food, Khinkali and Pilaf were really good.
Tasty authentic food like munty, khachapuri, soup and all other good stuff. Highly recommended !
Enjoyed our family gathering here, the food was amazing and the staff were very accomadating!
As per my Lithuanian friend, Kharcho was served with very less quantity of meat n rice. n meat as traditional Kharcho is served. Khinkali was good. Juicy inside. Pricy as compared to the quality, quantity and location wise. I wouldn t go again if I find something better.
So sad to post this - I loved the food the handful of times we ate here or ordered from here. The Ajarsky is AAA+ the best bread/cheese thing ever. But today we had a cockroach on our table after boxing up our leftovers. Ill never be able to eat here again
I never had uzbeki food before but everyone had been raving to me about plov - it was delicious! The lamb was cooked to perfection but the rice is the star of the dish will be back!!
One of the best restaurants in the city. Highly recommended.
I ordered a online order over 200$ worth of food and the French fries came in this destroyed container. Leads me to believe that the French fries were microwaved in the container. I gave my name to them to explain what happened and they hung up on me. Fresh French fries would not cause the container to be damaged like this. Unacceptable after already delaying the order 10 minutes beyond the expected time. Don t recommend for pickup or dine in.
I liked everything very much
Rude workers and bad foods Worth to buy never ever come here Kelishizga arzmaydi qopol ishchila va achigan ovqatla
Went in at around 5:30pm on Sunday. There were 4 groups at 4 different tables just chilling there, no one eating, no one had menus, drinking Tim Horton s drinks? Didn t see a staff member. Went out to make sure it was the right place. Went back in, no one there still. Went out and tried calling, no answer. Not sure what s going on at this restaurant but from the other reviews, not seeing any staff and having to go find them is the norm here. Didn t end up eating. Not trying to play hide and seek to eat somewhere.
Service is non-existent. The staff are very sweet, but they do not service you. All they do is take your order, bring it to the table and give you the bill. They will not pour you a drink if your ordered it. Just slap it on your table. They will not check in with you to find out if everything is OK. Amenities - I felt like I was in the way. A dude was carrying tools back and forth through the dining room, wearing an undershirt. Personel was shouting to each other setup ideas. Food - I was born and raised in Uzbekistan, so I know the food very well. I will skip the annoying shortcomings. The thing that pissed me off the most was my take out ( I had lunch there and took food home with me) - the staple of Uzbek cuisine, Plov, was not fresh. It must had been from the night before. There is no way anyone could convince me otherwise. Considering how rare Uzbekistan restaurants are, it broke my heart.
The girl who worked here was very nice but the food was such a disappointment. I hate leaving bad reviews but for the money I spent I feel like I have no choice. The food tasted old especially the meat in the food I ordered. Ive had Central Asian food before MANY times and I know what it should taste like. Even the manti and samsa I had at an Afghan friends home and restaurant tasted way better because the meat actually tasted freshly butchered, it had way more onion, way more cumin, and a little more salt. I really hope you make the necessary changes.
I would love to send the big thank you to the team of the restaurant and owners The food was delicious and absolutely amazing Food
I phoned and asked what they had available on the menu. They confirmed and I was excited. I got to the restaurant and was greeted as if I was not suppose to be there. Half the items on the menu were not available. Food was not tasty. Would not recommend. Its a shame because central asia is all about being hospitable and delicious food. This place is the opposite.
Was so disappointed in the quality of food at this place. My friend suggested we try the cuisine here and the menu looked so appetising. On getting there, we found the host quite curt and non friendly. We ordered standard dishes like the pilaf, dumplings, lamb kebabs , none of which were good. The meat was dry and over cooked, the pilaf was a sorry mess of sticky rice with some veggies, the dumpling was not palatable ( the soft outer covering was chewy). The host offered us some compote and didn t once mention that every glass of compote would cost us 2 bucks! When we paid for our food it s was 100 bucks for two people which again for the quality of food was outrageous. Never eat here unless you really want to burn cash!
I have been to this establishment many times, the cuisine is excellent, especially pilaf, lagman and khachapuri, good service and warm atmosphere, chic interior Parking: full of parking spaces
My total in check wad 360 but they charged me 415 which I noticed later checking my receipt. In this establishment they cheated me out of 55 bucks, what else can I add...
Its closed, i tried to come here 5 months ago and it was closed
Just avoid going , food takes a long time to prepare, hidden location with zero vibe. Food was dry and tasteless , bread was reheated...
To my fellow Central Asian folks, AVOID THIS PLACE at all costs. As Central Asian people we missed home food and this was an absolute disgrace. Not only the food but service was atrocious. It is an absolute talent to make food taste this bland and tasteless. Could not even finish this food and didn t want to take home either.
Liked the atmosphere and server but the food was way below my expectations.
I have truly never experienced such a poor service. Extremely rude server, completely unprofessional. The food was OK but not more, burned grilled chicken, dry bread. Never going back there. Such a disappointment due to the server. He was the only one there and was likely the supervisor. Not sure. Hope not the owner.
I will not recommend this place and we will never go back there. It was only us there on Friday evening at this place , but many people from National restaurant was wondering around and going in and out for a smoke . There is no traditional food , it s was a while to get our order and food was taste terrible so we end up not even finished our meals .
Don t go!!! Waste of time and money!
Paid a lot for below average food and service. I will not be going back to this place.
The server refused to bring us a bowl so we can share the dishes we ordered, he said the owner doesnt want people to share food. He got mad when my husband took a sip of my kompot saying it is not for sharing. Whats wrong with this dude??? Cant customers enjoy the food they are paying for? We ordered more than one dish per person, I can understand if a restaurant doesnt want people to stick around if they only order one dish for the whole table, but in our situation it makes no sense. Pilov is soaked in oil. Laghman is overcooked supermarket frozen ramen. Ew.
We have been to this place before and the food was amazing. Now with the new owners the restaurant very outdated atmosphere is empty not nice and most important the food quality is poor and not tasty no spices big DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!
The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, the food- amazing! Service was also top notch! Thank you.
Celebrated my birthday here and truly enjoyed amazing service and food of Central Asia. Thank you and we will come back again.
We want to share our favorite restaurant, Chaihana (1000 Finch Ave W #122, NY), and explain why we love it. When we want to take a break from the hustle and bustle, enjoy delicious home-cooked food at a leisurely pace, in a warm, unique setting, we head to Chaihana, even though we dont live nearby. Chaihana exudes a calming atmosphere that makes each visit unique. The warm, soothing, and unique decor creates a cozy space where you can savor fresh and delightful food that corresponds to the diverse menu. The variety of dishes on the menu is a true delight for food enthusiasts. From the first visit to the present, Chaihana has captured our hearts. We have become regulars, despite the distance. Waiters Edward and Julia greet and serve us during different shifts. Always hospitable, respectful, attentive to our requests, they create comfort and a desire to come back to them again and again. Perhaps we encountered Edward more often. We were drawn to his attentive service, developed through experience in the profession, the ability to be unobtrusively present, engage in a short conversation, explain each dish in detail, suggest choices, and warmly welcome us, creating an atmosphere in which we feel like welcomed guests. Chef Marina, though we havent met personally, we thank you for every dish that makes our visit to Chaihana truly magical. Soups, pilaf, pumpkin dumplings, and much more every dish is a real pleasure! We express gratitude to the entire restaurant team, waiters Edward and Julia, and chef Marina for their hard work and professionalism, for patience and attention to each customer. We appreciate your work and understand that it is not always easy. Chaihana is our place, and we are happy to share our experience with friends, guests, and relatives. Everyone we invite and who visits this restaurant remains delighted with the food, service, and atmosphere. We thank the entire Chaihana team for the opportunity to come here again and again, feel the warmth and hospitality, and enjoy every moment spent in this wonderful place. Thanks to your professionalism and warm attitude towards us, visitors to your restaurant, each of our visits becomes a pleasant memory and a topic of conversation with our friends.
Had an amazing experience and yummy food, great atmosphere! The server was great full of humour and kind helped when comes to advice. Eduardo I guess was his name thank you for your kind service. I would recommend this place, will be back!
Thank you Chaihana staff and the National Venue for the amazing services provided to my staff party. The attention to details such as dietary restrictions from our group was truly commendable. This is the second year receiving Catering and Venue rental and I look forward to the next year for your services. Especially thanks to Marjorie, Paul and CJ Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options, Halal options.
Delicious food, great service and good prices!
Still closed. /Still closed
So sad this place no longer open for dine in only take out.
The restaurant is abit hard to locate. Its inside this huge commercial building. When we went they only allowed take outs so cant say much about customer service
Super friendly staff, excellent service
This spot is good! Good prices, big portions and the staff are always nice.
Easily the best restaurant I ve eaten food at in a long time. Incredible service, jaw dropping decor, and honestly the besttttt food I ve ever had. It was my first time having Uzbek cuisine and it won t be my last! I m coming back here with guests and bringing new people here. MUST TRY
The food is amazing! Service was great! I will definitely be back and I would recommend this place to anyone!
Amazing food. Quick and excellent service. I want to come and eat here over and over again.
Pilaf five stars. Grilled meats were good. Buns with lamb and beef was great. Minus one star for charging us $4 each for tap water served ( still water on the receipt, noticed when I got home)
Amazing food . Must try their khachapuri. Best part, its all halal!!!
We love their kharcha puri... Nice peaceful environment
Really likes the design and the food I got was great!
Great food and friendly service. Love the art work! Would definitely go back.
2022 update: It is hit and miss experience now, I have no idea why. 3 stars Original post from 2019: We came with low expectations and were wrong. The food is tasty, but you should know, more or less, this kitchen to make a good choice. For the people familiar with this - very nice experience, almost like home made meals.
Poor service. It takes so much time for any dishes to arrive. I have ordered manty (4pcs.) and I have been waiting for them about 50 minutes. All the dishes on the meny are unreasonably priced, and yet, the qiality of food seems to be beloww parnat all. The lunch special which is advertised on their wesbite, is no longer served due to covid related reasons. I wouldnt recommend anyone dining in here and wasting your time.
The worst service ever!!!! The food was cold, very unorganized will take an hour and a half to wait for the food to come. Your order few items from the menu and each one of them comes with an hour wait for each kids were hungry because we had to wait two hours for fries and wings for them.Don t waste your time and money horrible , horrible service and the price and portion of the food is unreasonable.! I hope they take reviews seriously and would do something to their service !!!!
Delicious food, fast and friendly service. Prices are very reasonable
Kid-friendliness: Very friendly waitresses
Very authentic and delicious food, and such a welcoming and warm place! I was so pleased to see my favourite dishes on the menu, and the execution was on point. The breads alone are outstanding! I will definitely be back.
Bad quality of pulov
Food was quite delicious and filling. Friendly staff. Price feels a bit high for the portion but I guess it s the inflation costs now! I would go back again
Great place
We celebrated birthday at this restaurant and their service was remarkable! They surprised us with balloons, everything was well set up and the food tasted amazing! We highly recommend this place for their fresh food, great quality and outstanding hospitality! Excellent job! Will definitely return :)
Food is yummy, staff is very friendly. Makes you feel at home. Went there for lunch, truly enjoyed it.
The ambience was great. It gives totally cool vibes and makes you feel comfortable. I ordered the Chicken Tapaka, it was well cooked and the quantity was great. The only thing I felt was the spice level could have been a little better. People waiting the table and serving the food were humble and really friendly.
Delicious food and friendly owner
Food was great, staff was very friendly. Enjoyed the ambience and decoration as well. Overall a nice experience, would definitely come back again with my friends.
Very nice food and people.
Every time I visit Toronto I stop at Chaihana for authentic Uzbek food. Everything on the menu is super delicious and portions are very generous as well!
The dishes are tasteless. The waiting time is incredibly long. We waited 1 hour just for the starters. Half of the menu is invalid due to lack of stock. The waitress was never there, as she was in the kitchen which was in another room further away. Customers were forced to fetch liquors from the fridge on their own. Well I invite you to think carefully before eating in this restaurant.
Best of the best food Service We had to wait for our food little bit more, but it worth, everything was fresh & delicious
Didn t open when arrive this afternoon even their operation time stars from 12pm
Super disappointed by the quality of food Slow service Overpriced
Amazing restaurant! Our family from Manitoba (background Kazakhstan) visited this location, we received very good service and enjoyed the most delicious food in Toronto. It brought us lots of memories of how our national cuisine can be so tasty and versatile. Special thanks to the chef and waitress (Julia) Thank you ones again, see you next time!!
Super delicious food and nice vibe
Nice food, reasonable atmosphere. Good people nice Uzbek food. Not much spices. It was nice and ok
very tasty recommend
Great simple restaurant for people who appreciate Uzbek food. I loved this place. But the price increase of the menu items is unreasonable.
Loved the food, great atmosphere, large parking. Highly recommend; Thank you!
Located in the business center building. The meat is cooked well. The pilaf is not prepared by an Uzbek, it turned out to be porridge with meat, the meat in it has bones, the rice was chosen incorrectly. The salads are very salty, I think the chef is not there or he doesn t taste the dishes. There is no Tashkent tea. The waitress Masha said that the kitchen was busy, although there were only 4 tables occupied in the hall. She barely looks after the guests and didn t offer a child s chair. The menu includes shrimp and other things that you will never find in Chaikhona in Uzbekistan or Tajikistan. They couldn t even find oriental music; they were playing something classical. I dont recommend it
I was at the restaurant a month ago. We were served by a girl, very nice, she knows her business right away! I think her name is Julia
Be careful ordering at this location, they rip you off and the food is not even cooked properly. For 33 bucks I got chicken Kiev that s half the size of my palm and it was a little raw inside with no butter/herbs inside. Disappointing as the first time I ve ordered it was well worth the money. The mashed potatoes were also not done properly. I ordered it at 7pm and didn t arrive until 9pm. You can tell it was rushed and not properly made.
Yummy food! Great service!
yumyy
Amazing food
Best pilov in the town ! This is my 3rd time ,every single time same quality, same kindness, same freshness Thank you team !
Food was simply amazing , owners are good its a must try halal food for ppl in GTA 1. Mutton ribs / Lamb ribs were 10/10 2. Pilav / Palau was amazing with generous amount of lamb meat 10/10 3. Tandoori Lepyoshka 10/10 4. Beshbarmak ( dumpling , meat steak slices , saute onions with some soup ) 7/10 Owners were friendly and nice .. chef is from azerbaijan .. must try !
Amazing food! Served by amazing people. Highly recommend anything on the menu. And if you can t decide, ask them! Can t go wrong.
The best place you can eat. Very kind, caring and helpful staff, excellent kitchen and easy to pickup. I recommend to all.
Served by the best people. Very delicious food, good prices, nice location with a parking lots. Highly recommend this place!
Awesome taste of food, very friendly staff. One of places that you must visit. We took out food here and that was real pleasure. I didnt eat food with that level of quality for 2 months in Toronto. Level is high.
Great tasty
Edit. Today i ordered again and received an amazing meal. Thank you!
First time trying Uzbek cuisine. It was very good. Would want to dine in once its possible.
Amazing food with generous portions at reasonable prices. Make sure you try out their plov/pilaf and lamb ribs, both of which are outstanding in their own right.
Quiet homey little place hidden away inside of the mall, the decor inside is beautiful and so are the people working there. The owner is extremely kind and the food is delicious. Definitely worth a try, especially now that they have indoor dining.
Its an interesting experience to try this restaurant. Environment: The restaurant is hidden within a building. The restaurants interior design is pretty depressing with the orange wall, no window and the dim lighting, with chairs and tables scattered around. There was no people when we got there, no customers, no staff. A senior lady only came out when she served food for us. So the impression was that it was run by the senior lady alone. If you expect a delightful environment to dine in, its not a good place to go, and they didnt offer dine-in either. Food: We ordered Pilov and Lagman because they are Uzbekistans national dishes. The Pilov is similar to Uyghurs , while Lagman is similar to Uyghurs . They were quite special at the first bite, because of the ingredient they use, and I could taste cumin out of it. But we found them too greasy later soon. The bottom of the Pilov and the top of Lagman were just full of oil. So we didnt finish all of them. The whole experience was interesting but no amazing. Since I am not sure whether Uzbeki cuisine is oily by its nature, I wouldnt deduct too much scores from them. The verdict is 3/5.
Drove 30min to find the restaurant is closed, lights out, doors closed. it was 4pm and the website and google show that it s open 12pm - 11pm. Awful, at least take time to update information. Moreover, there was notice that they do ubereats only and dine in closed. No info about that anywhere online
Great food, highly recommend this place. Friendly staff as well.
Absolutely love this place, food is delicious, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the owners are lovely
Delicious. Chebureks are great. I HOPE they are super dietary)))))))))) I want more
Shelbolt
True Gem. Toronto is lucky to have it. Great food, fair prices, and outstanding atmosphere. Central Asian is difficult to cook in anything, but large quantities. Plov is recommended, Manti and if they have it Kazy. Wide selection of Georgian and Azeri speciality too. Having travelled and gone for research in Central Asia this is as close as your going to get short of travelling there. This place is so special because few central Asian restaurants exist in North America. No, Central Asian is not middle eastern so if you havent had it its worth a try. You wont be disappointed.
My favorite place! highly recommend, large portion size, great tasting food and friendly staff.
Very impressed with this place. Great tasting food and reasonable prices. Also friendly staff.
We ordered 2 chicken kebabs (2 skewers each= 4 skewers total) for takeout. They dont let anyone inside, so I received my order in a parking lot, and there was no way to check whats inside. I opened my order at home - there were a total of 12 pieces of meat inside! Thats about 2 skewers! $45 for a single takeout dinner! This place is a scam!
First experience with Central Asian food, and it was minutes before closing too. The plov and mantys were delicious.
Uzbek cuisine, fresh and delicious. We tried assorted kebabs (one veggie is included), pumpkin manty, tandoori lepyoshka and lagman. Everything was freshly prepared and hot when we picked up. Kebabs were very good: tender meat, no fatty pieces. Will definitely come back to try more from the menu.
Delicious central Asian food!
Great authentic dishes for good prices! Brought a lot of childhood memories and nostalgia! :)
Thank you for the wonderful experience at your restaurant! Delicious food, friendly atmosphere, excellent service! Thank you, Anna for your efficient, professional and friendly service!!! Definitely will come back
Them Lagman is perfect but Olivie Salad isnt good( I also can recommend Pilav and Chachapury. And I dont like it here because its noisy place, but if need to order some food it will Chaihana.
Great food and good service. Yammy
Great food for the price and quick service.
I would like to say a Big Thank You to restaurant Chaihana, for an amazing diner for my husband, our four kids & me. During this hard time for everyone in the world, we still have this opportunity, to have this delicious food on our table. God Bless You! Thank you guys, that , no matter what- you are always with us!
I ordered the lamb fried rice on uber eats yesterday. I liked it very much so I ordered it again today. I wrote a note that I love your food. Then they sent me this with a extra pie inside. That was so sweet of you guys. Food was really great too.
Very nice patio
Very good service, tasty and fast. I recommend!!!
Love love the food. Ambience and the staff especially Mehr is an amazing host !!! Order your heart away u wont be disappointed
Fantastic! went with my wife today. The soup was rich with flavour and the meat tender. The bread was fresh from the tandoor and we were given complimentary dips for the bread which was also fantastic. Very reasonably priced as well.
I have been to this restaurant many times and I am always impressed with the service and the quality of food. I am tried almost every item on the menu and I am always left with a smile on my face. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Love everything about this restaurant. Food is delicious - i mean every dish is delicious! So far i have tried half of their menu and going for more. Service and prices
I hope you won t serve stale desserts anymore, who knows how old was the dessert. Food and manty was delicious.
Very tasty food & pleasant service
We drive all the way from Montreal to Toronto to eat their delicious food! As someone who comes from the same background, the food is as good (if not better) then what you would get at home. The owners are the sweetest couple ever, and even remembered my birthday and bought a cake when we came back a week later when passing through Toronto on our way home. The food is by far the best food I have ever eaten. Highly recommend all of the soups, mantis and their lamb shashliks, as well as their homemade bread and cheburekis. 10/10 food, and amazing owners. Would recommend to anyone!
Our favourite place to eat in all of GTA. No other restaurant beats Chaihana in quality of food to price ratio. We celebrated a special event there and most of our guests who were not familiar with Uzbek cuisine were absolutely impressed with food. Great service also helps with overall experience. A must visit for sure!
Good and tasty food, a bit expensive.
Dont order anything to be delivered from here (doordash/ubereats). You can make an order and be waiting for it, and it gets canceled the last minute. Very unreliable!
Used to be my favourite Central Asian restaurant in GTA. Great food, great service. Unfortunately, my last experience was disappointing, where my order was messed up several times and the service was very slow. When I contacted Chaihana for a private feedback via their info email, they never got back to me, and I felt I am not valuable customer despite of the fact I used to be a regular there, and brought my friends.
They make the best dishes ever I have tasted especially their fries and then combine it with beef kebab or lamb kebab mmmmh!!! I promise you you will go back for more
Great food. Good size portions. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My kids said they would like to come and eat here again- and that sais it all...
I absolutely adore the cuisine here.
A group of 13 people barely left this wonderful cafe-restaurant, having spent only around 500 on delicious food and a variety of drinks. Our favorite place for a group run in width.
My favorite asian cuisine
Unique and delicious food. Nice friendly staff. Spacious. Has a wedding hall too! Borsche soup and dumplings were really nice. Good tea too
If you order an hour ahead your food should not be late. Poor service.
We could only have takeout under the pandemic, and the food was delicious enough to convince us to revisit. Hope we can dine in soon and enjoy the food under the traditional deco.
Great new experience
great food, we like to order food from here at least once a week.
No better time to support local business, and to try some delicious Central Asian food! My dreams of plov have been fulfilled, and theres nothing better than baursaki to soak up the delicious laghman!
We ordered two soups, tasted like south Asian curry, portions were okay for the price.Plov tasted good but sooo graesy. But the worst part of the order was Kiev cutlet meal which consisted of a cutlet made from 100-125 grams of chicken served with French fries and costed $22.Never going again.
