The food and service was exceptional. I am rating this 1 star because of how unsafe it is to use the facilities here Please be extremely careful when using the washroom. Its located in the basement of the building thats open to the public. There are crackheads that roam the area and one was found in the womans washroom waiting outside a stall. While someone was inside. It sounds like management know about this as well and i am not sure why they didnt take any additional precautions. A simple lock on the door can prevent someones life from being threatened.

Today, Sunday, September 22nd, I went to eat around 1 oclock. I used to come here often, but today I experienced the worst service. I think the names of the two female servers are Eunjeong and Hyeryeon. Not only does he not come to the table at all, but when I go to him and tell him my request, he looks me in the eye, sighs, and walks away without answering. Its normal to leave food on the table without saying a word, and when I asked about potato salad because it wasnt served today, he answered with just these three letters and walked away. If you dont get what was supposed to be a basic side dish, you have to first explain that the ingredients arent ready. If you dont want to work, I dont understand why you come out and ruin the customers mood and make their food taste bad. Whatever you do is up to you, but I hope you at least be polite at work. This is a place I go to often, and the other servers and managers are always friendly. The person who worked today was the worst server Ive ever seen in Toronto. Im so disappointed.

I only go there for dinner every time, but when I visited for lunch on the weekend, there was only one female employee with round eyes. What they think of their customers is very disrespectful. Its ridiculous. They ignore the customers words and almost throw the food. They dont even serve basic side dishes. There was no table check at all, so I went directly to the counter and told them what I needed. All I get in return is no response and sighs... I dont know why I show the customer that I dont want to work. Ive always used this place, but its a shame. I dont see the manager every time I go. Is there a manager at this branch? So I guess the employees are not managed well. I wont be visiting again. The other reviews seem a bit made up.^^

I went to another branch of Daldongne and was so disappointed that I didnt go, but this one was so delicious. The kimchi and noodles tasted completely different from other branches! The food was delicious but the service wasnt great.

Daldongne is so good~!! This is a place where you can taste authentic Korean food, and is loved by both local residents and those who are trying Korean food for the first time. The food is overall clean and feels like home-cooked food, so you can enjoy it without pressure. The prices are reasonable, so you can visit without burden. This is a great place to visit when you miss the traditional taste of Korea or want to experience new food.

I recently visited this restaurant and ordered a meal that included rice, egg rolls, noodles, and two servings of beef tripe (gopchang). Initially, I noticed that the server brought out the rice with their thumb resting inside the bowl. Although this was off-putting, I decided to overlook it and set aside the portion that was in contact with their hand. The real issue, however, arose when I started eating the gopchang. After dipping a piece into the sauce, I noticed a gritty texture, like sand, as I chewed. To ensure it wasn t the sauce, I tried the gopchang on its own, but the gritty texture persisted. Concerned, I brought this to the attention of the server. When I asked if this was normal, the server explained that the gritty texture was due to the fat ( ) inside the tripe. This explanation didn t make much sense to me, but the server offered to check with the manager. The manager then informed us that while many customers had eaten the gopchang that day, we were the first to mention this issue. Nonetheless, they offered to replace it. The replacement gopchang did not have the same gritty texture, confirming that the original dish was indeed problematic. Despite this, I felt uncomfortable with how the situation was handled. The implication that we were somehow overreacting didn t sit well, especially when only one serving of the gopchang was replaced, even though we had ordered two. We did not eat the original dish, so I believe both servings should have been replaced. In conclusion, while I understand that mistakes can happen, the handling of this situation was disappointing. Eating tripe with a sand-like texture is certainly not what I expected, and I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously.

Came here for a birthday party and the servers would not come to serve us, no water refills, no table clearing, limited us on our side refills, did not bring our specialty drinks, no rice for an hour. 4 servers just stood around the entire duration and wouldnt move towards our party every time we tried to wave them for assistance. After the first order of meat the service went down hill

I usually love Daldongnae but this location failed to live up to the standards of other locations. We were here for two birthday parties. Even though there were bigger tables available, we could barely squish into the 6 + 4 table they gave us. Our group ordered and everything was going fine at first. Our side dishes arrived and since we had 6 people, we finished our side dishes before our meat arrived. At this point, service went down. We asked for a new set of side dishes, but it took awhile to come. The sauce on the hotplate sides charred black. We had to scrap it with our spoons and chopsticks so that we didnt eat blackened burned bits. When it did come, as we had 6 people on our side, we finished much faster than the other 4 people table. The side empty dishes were not cleared for awhile, so there was barely room on the table to order more food. Water was not refilled unless asked for. Half an hour in, we reminded one server that our rice and drinks had not arrived. He left and never came back. At 1 hour in, we asked for the rice again as we had a kindergartner that only wanted rice and corn and the boys wanted some carbs with the meat. Once again, second server left and we didnt get it. Close to the end of our meal, we told them to cancel all rice/drink as we were done. The last server was surprised and rushed off to figure out what happened. She questioned us and was surprised that we never got our items and tried to offer us free rice at this point which was quite insulting as we already finished all our food. If rice had arrived, we wouldnt have eaten so much banchan as one of the reasons you order rice is to take the edge off of fatty meat. Since our rice never came, we used banchan and lettuce so that it wouldnt be so greasy only eating meat. We were also told we couldnt refill our banchan anymore at one point. It would be understandable if all the food we ordered was available, but unfortunately, due to lack of attention and care, we were left with lackluster service. The boys were going to order a second round but due to the poor service, we decided to move elsewhere for more food and dessert. It was busy when we first arrived, so I understood that things couldve been missed. However, the tables around us were empty by the time we asked for items a second and third time. There were servers chatting with each other at the front desk/counter as well. The food is great, but management/service could greatly improved. It really dampened and ruined two peoples birthday dinners which was the worst part of it all.

Even though it was a weekday, there were a lot of customers and it was busy!! Even though they were busy, the servers were very friendly and even though I called often, they responded with a smile without showing any displeasure. Also, I recently met a new manager who I met for the first time and he was very kind! I will continue to visit the steel branch often!

Food was solid as always - however, I ve been to daldongnae a handful of times, and this one stood out for having particular bad service. It was busy so it s bound to be slower, but service to our table was basically non existent. No one ever checked on our table, and we waited to ask for the bill for a ridiculous amount of time as no one was coming by. We tried to get their attention at times but they usually brushed us off for other tables. Also, I think the menu should be updated to say they don t have the soju mixed cocktail pitchers anymore - I had ordered one but the server had misunderstood me and brought just a bottle of soju (which he at least took back when I clarified with him). It s a shame too because that was my favourite drink to get at daldongnae. Overall, the service could definitely improve.
