This is our new favourite spot!! The food was delicious but not greasy or salty-everything was flavourful and wonderful. They have homemade treats and juices that were also delicious.

Decent curry chicken roti. This one is more gravy based than broth with potatoes which I prefer but overall decent.

The TikTok didnt lie. Mind you Ive only had two things off the menu. However, the fried chicken with the red sauce SLAPSS!! The Oxtail was good. The Rice & peas was rice and peasing lol.

Update: Aug 07 2024 Lmaoo im mad she sold the damn spot. The foods nasty now. Dont badda. Why was the oxtail lightskin smothered in ketchup!? FIX IT JESUS Ill pray for you if I hear one negative thiNg about this spot come out your mouth. When places like Sunrise and mr.jerk exist YOU CANT DENY AUTHENTIC RASSWHOLE CARIBBEAN FOOD. I can smell the ting cooking all the way from STC. Stop playing !

I ate there for the first time for was great I tried Jamaican food in the area but this one is the best by far. We had jerk chicken dinners jerk Putin jerk chicken wrap and patties and it was all great. I would recommend this spot to anyone ther are 3 chairs to eat but everyone has the food to take out. Im going to try everything on the menu but so far the food is 5 star enjoy everyone.

Small shop, but a hidden gem, usually opens at 11:30 am and you will already see people lining up for the meal, food quality and quantity wise very much satisfied , jerk chicken meal is really good; only negative i could say is that there is no dine in option available.

I rarely write reviews but I have to take a moment to give this place a shoutout. The food was stellar and ready within 15 minutes of ordering for takeout. The staff were so polite. My craving for jerk chicken was wholly fulfilled by this joint, and the rice really soaked up the flavour as well. Will be coming back soon.

I love the taste of your food and your place was one of most affordable and tasty. However, I will no longer order from you. This is why black establishments suffer after a while. We tend to see too much dollar signs and forget about legacy, longevity and loyalty. How do you justify your price increases. I used to order curry goat roti for $12, is now $17 an incresee of almost 50%. I used to order fry chicken meal for $11.50, it is now $14.00, an increase of approx 28%. I used to order curry goat $13.50, it is now $16.50 an increse of approx 25%. We understand prices have gone up, but not that much. I am sorry, but I will no longer patronize your 3 establishments. Greed should not supersede loyalty, fairness and longevity. Ridiculous!

Food is always fresh, people are nice, drinks are refreshing n even filling especially their peanut punch. I love her chicken curry with peas n rice, jerk chicken is amazing too. In love with this place been going since I moved to the area years ago. Used to be smaller but the renovation gave them more space to work in n for customers. 10/10

Food was really tasty!! I got the BBQ chicken, fried chicken and patties. Really good. Got the regular size and it was a good portion size. The staff was also really friendly and welcoming. This may now be my go-to Jamaican food spot.

Ordered my 2 favourite things: jerk chicken (meat only) and goat roti. The roti is great. Thin and lots of chickpea crumble. Even better the next day. Goat was flavourful and amazing meat. Loved the bones. No potatoes but that just meant more meat. The jerk chicken is the best Ive ever had. Its exactly what I like: lots of flavour, salty, no sauce, tender, amazing skin, seasoned under the bones. It was perfect. Got two orders of just chicken and it was a lot. Cant wait to order again. All Caribbean places should keep bones in their food. Thats where the flavour is. Thanks for a great meal.

Food is always immaculate, especially their fry chicken with the red sauce. Absolutely love their set up. Place looks nice and clean and there is always food. Love the big variety on the menu, staff is always lovely, joking around with each other the customers, it definitely feels like back home there. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat from.

Limited space- 2 seats only , this place is mostly for take out . A little bit pricey but good quality food. Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian option.

Ordered through DoorDash cause they were the closest and probably the quickest. Was my first time and became a fan of there coleslaw. The chicken was good, some the legs were dry. The rice was the biggest let down. It was severely undercooked. Some pieces was not even cooked. Felt like chewing on stones. Probably order again and hope they get the rice right the next time.

I often buy from this spot since I recently discovered it. I have tried almost everything on the menu. I can t say that they have the best Jamaican food because I cook my own Jamaican food and I have had better. However, the food is still good and conveniently located so that s why I keep going back. Food preferences are entirely subjective and in my case I wish a few things were different. Eg, Their fried chicken is very dry, not to my liking but my partner thinks it s the best thing ever. Give it a try. It just might be exactly what you want. Parking: Ample parking in a small plaza location based on time of day. Pretty buy at evening rush hour

Jerk Chicken was fantastic. Their Cow foot stew was on point. Delicious creamy coleslaw. Service was kind and professional. Gotta go back and try everything else on the menu.

I was waiting in my car outside of the restaurant for my food to be done and was pleasantly surprised to have my food brought to me. She didnt have to do that so the fact that she went out of her way to do that is very nice. Great service.

I ordered oxtail, rice and coslow first of all they use cheap container to package my food and they gave 3 small pieces of oxtail and add big three pieces of jack chicken i did not order chicken I ordered oxtail the gravy was dripping food was mixed up because the container they use was small no man please buy proper containers and dish up the food nicely into portions why would mix rice with chicken, oxtail and coslow that s disgusting

Ive just had a very distasteful experience with your Chef or cook at the back. She is obviously homophobic and suffering with internalized issues that she believes she can project on others and get away. This unacceptable and highly disheartening that she would be grunting and calling lord jesus name over my food because as a proud black gay man, I can show proof how many time I have supported your business. When customer come to your store who is gay they are they to be made fun of or be treated sparingly or marginally. This is problem with the especially black Jamaican businesses. I gave the food away ion trust people like that, such a nasty behavior. I never heard of anyone going to a restaurant to buy dutty attitude yall can keep that

The food and service were great! Its one of the best Jamaican restaurants Ive tried thus far. I ordered Jerk and jerk BBQ chicken, brown stew fish, bammy and festival. The bammy was a bit too oily but still tasted good. Everything else was great, well seasoned, reasonably priced and great portion. Their menu items sound so good and God willing, I hope to order more from this place! Update: Ive reordered a number of times now the food is consistently good!

Since it was changed from Sansiaman to this the food sucks. The stew chicken used to have flavor and big pieces of carrots and it was delicious now its expensive and tasteless. The rice looks pale and not enough red kidney beans. I will only go back for soup.

Since discovering this place a month ago, Ive returned a few times for multiple items. Cant go wrong ordering ANY of their chicken dishes. The curry goat is FIRE! Even their veggie roti is amazing. Expect a bit of a wait at peak hours... but trust when I say its WORTH THE WAIT.

I ordered the special today which was stew peas and it was delicious. The cook she did an awesome job. The cashier needs to be more cordial and customer service friendly.

Decent place in terms of flavor and cost but the disappointment was the coleslaw and plantain. The coleslaw had this glue-like texture as the dressing and then there were raisins added!!!! In my life Ive never had raisins in coleslaw. Not very appealing. As for the plantain they were all hard. Wont be returning.

My first time here and won t be my last. Had the curry goat dinner. The gravy was delicious but the goat was a little chewy. I won t hold it against them though cuz goat can get like that no matter what you do. The rice and peas though.. love them. would eat them all day every day.!! The coleslaw was on point too. Overall the flavour of the food was fantastic which is THE most important thing to me. I will definitely be back to support this neighborhood eatery.

Went there today for the first time in the morning to grab a red peas soup, everyone was so kinda and my soup was so Good I went back in the evening for a jerk wrap and oxtail poutine and can I just say that was the best spin on a poutine I ve have in a while ! This place is a 5/5 great service, good home food , and large portions at a great price !! Will definitely be returning

Rice was good . Meat was good. But the coleslaw needs some work. I read previous reviews about some people not enjoying the coleslaw and I can understand why... The way they make the coleslaw doesnt cater to the majority of peoples pallet. They have to make the taste more universal to achieve better overall results of people liking their coleslaw. Just because a few people say they enjoy the coleslaw doesnt mean that having this style of coleslaw on the menu is working. Also the combo sizing doesnt make sense... I ordered through uber eats today, got a large size and a regular size. Both sizes looked identical the rice was the same portion for large and regular and same with the coleslaw ... at least the large had some extra chicken but overall it didnt feel like much of a difference. I think you should make the large and regular size more distinguish so people feel like they are getting more food for paying more money .

Honestly best jerk chicken Ive ever had in my life!!! The meat falls off the bones... so tender...and it hits you just enough with the spice.

Is it small? Yes, get take out. Is it cash only? Yes, there s an ATM next door. Is it the best oxtail anywhere? A great big YES. One of the best Caribbean restaurants I ve visited. Edit July 28 22. Review was for Sansimian (old name). Still great food with greater selection. And now they take debit! My go to Caribbean restaurant.

I enjoy the food 100%. Ive ordered BBq chicken, jerk chicken, rice and peas, festival etc and I must say it is very flavourful and the quantity is good, I get value for my money, not to mention the restaurant is CLEAN and in a good location. Absolutely love it.

Hands down one of my favourite local Jamaican spots to go to for a delicious beef patty! They have been around for as long as I can remember and have recently renovated to be more efficient. The bbq and jerk chicken is also really good, would definitely recommend if you re craving Jamaican food!

Looking for that Jamaican experience! We found this gem of a restaurant tonight when we ordered from skip the dishes. We ordered 2 boneless chicken roti and 4 Pattys. The curry sauce was amazing! Included roti chicken potato and carrot so much flavour, like homemade! Patties so yummy, crispy full of flavour. Cost was very reasonable for such a delicious large meal that we received. You now have 2 new repeat customers and I loved your coleslaw! Dont hesitate this Place rocks and clearly the chef has passion! Just soooo yummy made our evening!

Every visit to this restaurant has been a pleasant experience. The lady that works there is a pleasure to talk to. She is a hard worker but still has time to have a welcoming smile on her face. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Ive got the curry goat w/ rice & peas late in the day and was disappointed. The goat flavor was good, but had way more bones (some quite small) than I usually encounter. The rice was also surprisingly dry.

oh wow!!! after seeing these ratings makes me not want to trust peoples reviews anymore when it comes to good food. The food was meh.... nothing special about it, and thats the honest truth! unless they changed the chef, then im sticking to its not as great as these people are making it seem. I got rice and peas with fried chicken and oxtail gravy, something simple! and my friend got curry chicken and rice and peas. It really wasnt anything to die over, or even traveling some distance for, Trust me. I wasnt impressed at all. There was nothing finger licking good about it, or that made me want to come back in the future. I live down the street from there, and Im always in the mood for great Jamaican food and this place isnt one of them. Again if the chef as changed since then, I will gladly take back my displeasure with this place.

I got the special which was fried chicken that day and got there right when the place opened and all of the food was just freshly prepared. First thing that I saw threw my stomach for a loop was when the lady packed my take out food and pressed the chicken into the container with her bare hands in order to close the lid...the fact that she takes cash in between orders with no gloves and is touching food afterwards is kind of yucky!! Also I found the chicken meat very tough and very dark compared to usual...maybe she uses very low quality suppliers? Not going back...

Stumbled across this hidden gem when we were in the area. Unfortunately our spice tolerant is low so we went with the Chicken Stew that was mild per their recommendation. However the dish needed no heat to justify its goodness. The stew was, albeit a little bit on the sweet side, packed with flavour. It also came with rice/bean combo and a bit of coleslaw to finish off. Overall a very satisfying meal and they even had a little dining area where you can sit down and have your food (self-served).

The oxtail was legit good. The boneless chicken curry was juicy and delish. This place is small but there are always customers waiting in line because it is good. Best jerk chicken Ive ever had. I think even better then the jerk Ive had in Jamaica (i think). They have a fried chicken special for $8 tuesdays and fridays. I would put a picture of the food but i forgot until i was done. But heres a picture of their menu.
