Always amazing food and atmosphere. Some of my favourites are the Georgian Khinkal, rack of lamb, and the various dips and salads.

Came here on a whim, left with a happy stomach. Amazing staff and amazing food. Will be coming back for sure!

My new favourite restaurant. Fantastic food, great portion sizes, attentive service. We came for a work dinner, ordered family style, and were blown away by the experience. Looking forward to coming back and trying everything else on the menu.

Old Avenue restaurant well deserve 5 star rating. The atmosphere and service was amazing , the place was decorated so uniquely.I love every decoration object. The food was incredible. We were a group of 6. Everyone ordered different dishes and loved their food. We had georgian khinkal and mix appetizer with bread.l could finish whole bread by myself. Unfortunately l had to share with my friends.We had uzbec plov , rock of lamp,lamp kebap, karni yarik and salmon for main courses.The kunefe was delicious for dessert. We will definitely come back to taste other dishes. I highly recommend this authentic Azerbaijani restaurant

This was an exceptional experience! The food, including varied vegetarian and vegan options, was flavourful and interesting. The hostess was engaged and informative, and the place itself welcoming. RIDUNCULOUS, if you wonder what this word means, it means so ridiculous that the word ridiculous does not express the level. Imagine you are sitting with your partner looking at the dessert menu and deciding to get one or two desserts and discussing when to come back. Then, the owner approaches you very closely and asks how long more it will take for you. No pressure, 5, 10 minutes? You decide that the time you need is 0 minutes and ask for the bill. While she s telling two customers that were waiting that their luck has worked and these two people are finally leaving. The atmosphere of the restaurant is filled with gossip about customers in different languages. At one points everyone was startled by a sudden very loud birthday song recoding. What was going to be our favourite restaurant in Toronto bringing together cuisine from both of our native cultures is now the place we will make « evil » jokes about for the rest of our lives.

I ordered take out for a family dinner. The food was very good and looking forward to coming for an eat-in experience. The on-line pick-up ordering from the website was problematic. I hope that can be fixed in future. My order was cancelled twice for no reason and I had to call the restaurant to place an order.

We visited this restaurant on November 3rd around 4:30 PM with my wife and daughter. Our server, who I believe was named Greg, took our order: the chef s special Ajika as a starter, and the La Vangy and Uzbek Plov as main courses. About 25 minutes later, only the La Vangy arrived, but unfortunately, the chicken was dry and a bit burnt at the bottom, missing the plum sauce it was supposed to have. Given how busy the restaurant was, we decided to overlook this. After finishing the chicken dish, we waited an additional 35 minutes, yet neither the starter nor the second main course had arrived. When we asked our server, he explained that the kitchen was overwhelmed and assured us our food would be out in 2 minutes. However, 15 more minutes passed, and still, no sign of the Ajika or the Plov. We asked again, expressing that we wanted to cancel the Ajika. Our server apologized and offered the Ajika on the house, so we agreed to wait a little longer. Finally, after another 5 minutes, our Uzbek Plov arrived but the Ajika was still missing! We decided not to ask about it again. We finished our meal, left a well-deserved $0 tip, and departed with no intention of returning.

We have enjoyed an excellent meal all suggested by the owner. Excellent care. HIGHLY recommended. Kid-friendliness: If they are accepted and treated like kings

Food was good, service was deplorable. Had to keep trying to find our waiter and owner was to busy entertaining her friends. Ignored us as a party of six the whole evening. Wouldnt go back.

We had a great meal here. The food was amazing and the service was friendly. The Uzbek plov was very tender and flavourful, my daughter enjoyed her beef stew and my husband had a lamb steak which he said was delicious. We will definitely be returning!

Nasty over hyped food.

Weve gotten taken out many times, and yesterday dined in for the first time. The food is AMAZING. Loved the Shah Plof & Pide in particular. Finished with tea & Baklava which has a beautiful cardomom flavour. Absolutely delicious.

We had the opportunity to celebrate our sons 50th birthday at Old Avenue. I cant speak to the authenticity as Im not from that part of the world, but the service and food were great. My wife made the reservation and the owner was very accommodating to her wishes. There was lots and lots to food, and the leftovers were packed for us to take home. Certainly worth a return visit.

I ve been to Old Avenue restaurant twice so far. Excellent both times!!!! The first time we had an assortment of dishes chicken, meat and veg.The second time I took my vegetarian friend out for her birthday and there were loads of options. She loved it and said that she ll be returning with her vegetarian and vegan friends. The food is so delicious and flavourful. The atmosphere is so warm and charming. The service is excellent!!! Esther goes that extra mile to make you feel welcome. We have told many people about Old Avenue who are all eager to go. We will definitely be back again and again. I highly recommend Old Avenue restaurant!!!!! Vegetarian options: There are so many delicious vegetarian and vegan options. Parking: There is free parking on the side street.

My family had the most amazing meal at this restaurant, in fact it was one of the most wonderful meals we have ever had. The food was all delicious, fresh, and extremely authentic Azerbaijani cuisine. The atmosphere is romantic, unique, full of character, and perfect for any occasion. The service was extremely attentive, very friendly, personable, and really just all around a 5+ experience. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Very cosy place with warm atmosphere. Food was excellent.

Bland food and one dish had bones in it that cracked a tooth. Owner ducked and was obnoxious about it. Service was fine. Ukrainian servers and in the kitchen.

Nostalgia Plus Fabulous Food makes for a great and delicious experience.

We loved our experience at this unique restaurant. Large menu with many choices to sample. Lamb shank was delicious as were all the appetizers we tried. Interesting eclectic atmosphere and Staff was amazing in helping with menu selections and service. Loved our baklava desserts and special tea. Looking forward to going back soon.

We went here for the first time last night. We were 6 with two of our guests from New York City. The food was authentic and absolutely delicious. One of our guests has travelled extensively, even to the Caucasus region and he loved the food at this restaurant. We ordered food to share. Portions are large and great for sharing. Prices are reasonable considering the amount of food. Atmosphere is charming. My only regret is that we didn t get to meet the owner! Next time , Esther, we will meet!!

Its gotten so expensive to eat at restaurants anymore but this time it was so worth going out. A friend raved about old Avenue so I thought Id try it for a birthday celebration. It was so busy but that is part of what made it charming. And the service was good. But the food, oh the food, is what is going to bring me back.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Old Avenue Restaurant. It s a beautiful lively space. I can t remember the last time I was at a restaurant that everybody seemed so happy! There were moments where music was playing, and the guests and owner burst out dancing and singing! The staff are so warm and welcoming with their guests. The food and atmosphere were incredible, and they have a vegan menu which of course I always appreciate. I am gluten intolerant and they were knowledgable about that. About half of our group ate vegan and a few had meat and/or cheese dishes, we all absolutely loved our meals. My husband loved the cabbage rolls, and the Karni Yarik I had was perfection. I could not eat the bread, but everybody else agreed it was delicious! A wonderful evening in a space we will return to again and again. Vegetarian options: They have a dedicated vegan menu.

Excellent experience last night for a family birthday gathering. Food was delicious and lots of variety on the menu so every could find something to eat. Would definitely come back again!

Old Avenue is a delightful Central Asian style restaurant. I was recently there with five other people, allowing us to order numerous different dishes. From the appetizers like Shirazi Salads, Mezze, and Borscht to the main dishes like Khinkali, grilled lamb chops, plov, pot-stewed meat, and Khatchapuri Adjaruli. Every dish was well-prepared, well-seasoned, and easy to share and enjoy communally. Unlike most Central Asian places, there were also vegan options (including the first vegan Khinkali that I have ever tasted). The service is friendly and attentive; I would return.

Third time here. Food always tastes good and service is excellent and friendly. My young Kids love it too. Would highly recommend.

First visit and will be going back. It s a very warm and upbeat atmosphere! A little noisy but ok. The food is fabulous. We can t wait to go back and try more of their items. Make a reservation as it s not a large space. The decor is mixed. Lots of old items and photos - no real theme but warm.

One is $28 and the other one $17.

I went there tonight with my wife for dinner. Most of the dishes were foreign to us, which was a nice change. Everything we ordered was outstanding, we definitely will be back.

Great food with great service. The head chef even stopped by to check on how we liked the food. Came for lunch with a big party and things couldn t have been better.

This was one of the best restaurants Ive ever ever been in my entire life. And let me tell you this, Ive been to more than 3854 restaurants in GTA, and this is my new favorite. The owner was very kind to us and she suggested rack of lamb and their stew. Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. She also did a beautiful dance for a table beside that had a birthday party.

Best azerbaijani restaurant in toronto!!

Authentic Caucasus cuisine on Avenue close to 401 which is very convenient. The place is very cute with lots of knickknacks and authentic atmosphere. The lady owner is boss haha. She was belly dancing for someone s birthday. The food itself was delicious and felt like it prepared at your friends grandmother s house, which was great . Note the food is spiced up and some dishes were very spicy. The cabbage rolls are amazing and the rack of lamb is one of the best I ve ever had. Prices were reasonable for the quality . They definitely have to work on the service. Only had one young waiter and he is definitely not from the service industry and should be better trained. Made us wait over 25 minutes!! before approaching us while making drinks for others and never came once to check up on our food after.

This is by far the best meal Ive had in Toronto in a very long time. The attention to the details and all the flavors was exquisite. Azerbaijani food, which Ive never tasted before, was incredibly tasty and full of flavour. Special shout out to The roasted Pepper dip, the homemade babaghanoush, and the fabulous grilled salmon steak. Huge portions, friendly and swift service. Those behind the scenes have talent!! Our out of town guest from France was wowed too! We could barely leave the table, we were so full, and I only ate half my fish dinner! Eight out of five!!!!!

Food tastes amazing

Had a wonderful dinner with friends. This was our third or fourth time at the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was fun and lively. Esther is very welcoming and the staff are friendly. Old Avenue is small, not fancy and a lovely place to enjoy a nice meal.

Menu was very authentic and unique offering many dishes from souther caucus. We had the eggplant starter, the beef stew and the lamb shank. I thought the flavours were really nice and comforting. We really liked the old antiquities in the restaurant that gave it a unique charm. They have a small patio which is very quaint. Nice for a summer stroll. Service was okay, the beef was a bit salty for our tastes and the meal was a bit heavy overall.

I had an amazing experience at Old Avenue last night. The food was absolutely delicious, Shakh Plov, and the service was top-notch. Our waiter was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening out.

Ordered Pide and Dolma. Pide was great and Dolma was tasty, but the portion size of dolma was really really small.

Oh my goodness! What a delightful experience my daughter and I had from the moment we walked into the restaurant! We decided to try the Old Avenue Restaurant on Mothers Day. It came highly recommended by friends and we wanted a special Mothers Day experience. Loved the old world decor, vintage and antique items - so much to look at and appreciate! We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. After many questions about the menu, we ordered a small feast. I enjoyed dishes from the meat menu while my daughter chose from the Vegan menu. The food came out hot and fresh and we were pampered by the owner of the restaurant herself! The atmosphere, the delicious food, the excellent service and the music all added to the total experience. Everything is a MUST TRY! We will definitely be returning for more. Thank-you to the Old Avenue team for making Mothers Day an extra special celebration! Vegetarian options: Great Vegan choices! I went recently with friends, and had such a great evening. A few of us are vegetarian, and they had some really delicious options. The meat eaters really enjoyed their meals too. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the owner has such an amazing energy. We dont live so close by, but well make a point of coming back.

A wonderful little place serving food from the Caucasus. Definitely something you wont find. Many other places. Service is smiling in friendly and food is excellent.

We were really looking forward to eating here, and hosted a dinner party of 5 for a birthday dinner. I have mixed feelings about this, so will share all.. 1) Service: ok but not great. They never really served the wine, just plunked the bottle on the table. But the worst was, we ordered appetizers, which came relatively quickly, and that was the end of service. The first main dish appeared. Then, literally, 15 min later two more mains came, and close to 10 min later the last two came. That is not good. Our dining party could not eat dinner together, and awkwardly snacked until all plates came - which was well after others had cooled down. 2) Atmosphere: - the restaurant was busy (we were seated at 8 pm), and there was a large dining party celebrating a birthday. When it came for their dessert, they played several songs really really loud and the restaurant got a little rowdy (we were still eating, but you couldnt talk). That was ok... But then the owner came out with an Israeli flag draped over her shoulders, and to much ruckus pranced around for a good 10 - 15 minutes - dancing, hooting etc. Again, I like a good party, but the noise was a little loud, and went on a bit too long. However, what bothered me was the politization of my meal. To be clear, none of us are Jewish or Palestinian, but we could have been. My guest has a good Palestinian friend, and I could see this was upsetting her a bit. Given the current political situation, we were uncomfortable, and it was awkward being forced to sit there while this pro-Israel celebrating went on, while we were trying to eat.

Amazing vibe and food. Cant recommend it enough. Uzbek plov was very delicious. You can try the Ayran yogurt drink (its salty and sour).
